Hello again...
A week before the end of February I bring you the chapter that I had promised actually I was going to publish it on Sunday but as I went to the concert of my favorite singer (Camilo) the next day I was tired and I spent it resting besides taking care of my daughter of course.
Anyway here I bring you the chapter, enjoy it!
I can never be with you
After Tomada confessed her feelings and her fetish for claws to Sorrel on the beach we went back to RDJ and Lila who after playing with the canaries for a while decided to have lunch in the food court in the video game area near a bowling alley where several teenagers were excitedly playing. The two met while eating a nice cheese pizza with some soda.
"And that's how I ended up meeting David, Alejandro, Lillian and Sofia," RDJ finished telling one of his anecdotes with his friends.
"They must be really good friends," said Lila after hearing the story.
"Yes they are but sometimes they are crazy except Lillian, she's the quiet one" RDJ changed the conversation "but let's talk about you this time, I think I've told you too much about me."
"So what do you want to know?"
"Well... have you had any relationships in or out of school?" asked the blue and yellow macaw.
"Um... no... I've never had a boyfriend let alone a suitor" replied Lila scratching the feathers on her head and averting her gaze a bit "and have you ever had a girlfriend?"
"I had a girlfriend in the summer I loved her very much but I found out she was with my older brother. They both made fun of me and I broke up with her.
"Oh...that must have been hard for you."
"Yes I was, but when I started high school a lot of girls wanted to be with me since I worked out during the summer."
"Come to think of it I don't really know why you changed schools we were barely talking when we were swimming" asked Lila remembering the first time she saw RDJ at the pool since he was a shy boy.
"Well... I... ammm... remember I told you I was being bullied" Lila nodded at her friend's question "I actually dropped out of school for another reason."
"And why did you leave? If you want to tell me of course"
"I was studying in a Catholic school, it was a great school, I had friends, good teachers and I was doing well in math until my mom got sick with cancer and it changed everything" answered RDJ "knowing my mom was sick, my sister, my dad and I spent the last months of her life by her side. I stopped paying attention to school and my friends weren't supportive, they just stayed away, but that didn't matter to me, I just wanted to be with my mom."
"And your mom..."
"Days before Christmas my mom passed away" RDJ let out some tears "For the first time I didn't celebrate Christmas because I was so depressed about her passing and my family broke up when she was gone."
"It must have been hard on you and your sister" Lila approaches him "at least you have your father to look after you and protect you."
"HA... I wish I had him but unfortunately I don't" sighed RDJ "my dad became an alcoholic, he was really affected by my mom and sister's death... I took care of her like I was a father and when I was focused on her my grades dropped and I failed several subjects."
"So what did you do after that?" asked Lila a bit sheepishly.
"A friend of my mom's told my dad about Blue Sky and miraculously managed to convince him to enroll me after the vacations" RDJ recalled how she came to the school "Noelia, my mom's friend, was a former Blue Sky student and she managed to convince the principal to enroll me, but on one condition."
"And what was that?"
"That I join the school's swimming club since no one else had applied and I accepted as long as I wanted to continue my studies, that's what my mom would have wanted if she were alive."
"I know what it feels like to lose a loved one" Lila wiped the tears falling from her eyes after RDJ's sad story "I'm sorry if I asked you to talk about your mother" Lila put her hand on RDJ's shoulder to comfort him.
"Don't worry sooner or later I had to tell you it was about time someone else knew about my past" RDJ blushed again and lost herself in Lila's beautiful eyes.
"You have pretty yellow feathers RDJ" Lila confessed looking at the yellow feathers sticking out of the macaw's chest.
"I say the same thing about your feathers Lilas" replied RDJ "they look like blackberry leaves about to bloom".
The two were about to kiss but unexpectedly a basketball ended up hitting Lila in the beak and splashing the soda on the table on the blue macaw's white blouse leaving a yellow stain since her soda was mango.
"AUCH!"
"My ball!" shouted a child
"Lila are you okay?" asked RDJ frightened by what happened.
"Ayyyyyyyyyyy... my face is a ball magnet" Lila rubbed her beak and looked at the stain on her blouse "oh hell I knew I shouldn't have picked this white blouse".
"Sorry guys this is not what it looks like, a teenager in a Halloween costume took the ball my son won at the games" apologized the male magpie to the macaws.
"Halloween costumes?" RDJ was confused but Lila wasn't paying as much attention as she was trying to remove the stain with a napkin.
"Would you like me to check your beak young lady, besides being a father I'm also a doctor?" proposed the magpie.
"No thanks, I'm fine, I just need to go to the bathroom" Lila thanked him and got up.
"It's ok but if you feel bad here I am" said the male and left with his son.
"Are you sure you don't feel dizzy or have any blood loss" RDJ got up from his seat and worried about his friend.
"I'm fine, although I did stain my blouse with some soda." Lila showed her stained blouse in the middle of her breasts.
"If you want we can go somewhere else."
"Sure well only if you want to" Lila replied blushing "I'll just wash my face to soothe my pain and then we'll go."
"Ok, I'll wait for you here"
Lila grabbed her purse and went to the bathroom to freshen up while RDJ grabbed his cell phone to see if he had any messages or to check something else on the internet while drinking some soda but was interrupted by a certain canary.
"Wow... apparently I'm not the only one who likes cheese stuffed pizza" Coral spoke in a flirtatious voice.
"Oh...hello again" greeted RDJ a bit sheepishly putting away her cell phone "I thought you were on a date with your boyfriend."
"Just between us these games are very silly" he sits down next to her "wouldn't you like to entertain yourself with something else".
"With all due respect, will you stop doing that" RDJ got tired of Coral's tricks.
"Do what?" asked Coral in an innocent voice.
"That...flirt with me you're in a relationship and it's not okay to be unfaithful to your boyfriend" he walks away from her trying not to be rude.
"I can break up with him if you ask me to" she winks at him.
"What, No" RDJ surprised by Coral's words gets up from his seat "listen whatever you are planning with me is not going to work I don't like you and nothing will make me love you".
"Don't tell me you're in love with eggplant" Coral groaned at RDJ's words.
"Her name is Lila and yes I am in love with her" RDJ clarified "any problem with that?".
"She's just using you as comfort, she's actually in love with...".
"I'm not going to believe anything you tell me, I don't even know you, I just know that you judge others and play with other people's minds, I saw it the day we met in the principal's office."
"Come on RDJ you know I'm better than Lila and I can satisfy your sexual desires right now" I take her hand again and speak more seductively to her.
"What's going on here?" interrupted Nico in an annoyed voice. RDJ got nervous at the sight of the canary and let go of Coral's hand.
"Dude listen I don't...".
"Stay away from my girlfriend you asshole!". Nico pushes RDJ away from Coral and she said nothing.
"It's not what you think Nico she was the one who..."
"You think just because you have muscles and blue feathers you can do whatever you want" Nico leaned close to RDJ seriously "It's already too much that your beet girlfriend tried to ruin my date."
"She's not even my girlfriend and I don't know what you have against Lila but if you name her in a rude way again you'll have to deal with me" RDJ warned leaving his calm side with the canary.
"I don't care about your threats stay away from my girlfriend!" he grabs Coral's hand "she only wants me".
Coral realized that RDJ was very serious about his crush on Lila and snatched Nico's hand and left the scene frustrated by what he had said. Nico felt confused and went after her to see what had happened to her, forgetting about his fight with the blue and yellow macaw.
"Because I'm always considered the heartthrob" RDJ sat back in his chair with a bit of frustration "I hope Lila comes soon I want to get out of here."
Meanwhile in the ladies room Lila was trying to remove the soda stain that had landed on her chest but it was impossible, the mango flavor had spread and was not easy to remove with toilet paper and liquid soap.
"How I wish I had my sweater right now" cursed Lila after another failed attempt to remove the stain.
"Coral wait!" a male shout was heard outside the bathroom which caught Lila's attention as she recognized her old friend.
"Fuck you midget!" shouted Coral and Lila wiped her hands and slowly peeked out of the bathroom entrance to see Nico and Coral arguing behind a doll machine to catch them with a crane.
"What did you want me to do I was flirting with you!" Claimed Nico through the glass of the machine that Lila could see from afar.
"And that... We're just friends!". Coral clarified
"You don't even know him you barely saw him at the movies and you already consider him your friend!".
"You don't own me, let alone my father" Coral raised her voice at the canary and pushed him.
"But I am your boyfriend and I forbid you to talk to him" Nico got aggressive and grabbed her hand but in return he received a slap from Coral that caught the attention of some children and Lila closed her eyes when she saw the blow.
"I've had enough of you, you fucking virgin, I can't stand any more minutes with you!" shouted Coral angrily.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry I didn't mean to be rude it's just...".
"It doesn't matter virgin because from here on you and I are done with this falsehood."
"Falsehood but... What are you talking about?" Nico was confused but Lila understood what Coral meant.
"That I only used you" Coral clarified "I would never fall in love with you... I only kissed you because I found out that you are a spoiled rich boy."
"But... that day you told me that..." Nico became a little sensitive as he saw some tears gathering in his eyes.
"That you were special and that I loved you Hahaha... I'm interested in you but only for your money not because I like you" Coral repeated putting a hand on her hip "I would never date a loser and wimp like you. You're barely on my heels and you're thirteen but you look like you're ten."
Nico was silent and at the same time he felt his heart breaking again and some tears were falling down his cheeks. Lila saw what happened and the tears falling from the canary on one hand she knew he deserved to be insulted so harshly by his old friend but she remembered that she went through the same pain as Nico a long time ago. Coral had had enough of the canary's whining and decided to put a stop to it.
"But... but..."
"You're such a pussy, I can imagine how you would be if you had your first time" Coral says goodbye to Nico walking away from him "Have fun fucking her without me and without the berenjenal."
Lila had heard everything and was looking at Nico with her head down while clenching her fists, until she unexpectedly turned around and discovered the blue macaw stalking him.
Lila reacted late and hid in the bathroom entrance but Nico was no fool he knew she was there and went to confront her forgetting about her break up with Coral all thanks to the tips of her Lila hair giving her away more.
"Stop pretending you're not here and turn around," Nico ordered her as she planted herself in front of the women's restroom, the blue macaw had no choice but to show herself to the canary, she could no longer hide.
"I... ammm..."
"Why do you always mind your own business!" claimed Nico angrily.
"I didn't get into your fight I was in the bathroom" replied Lila
"Spying on us yes...that's exactly what you did when I told you I was coming here with Coral."
"I didn't come to spy on you, I just came on a date with my boyfriend" Lila named RDJ as her boyfriend to infuriate the canary.
"If he's your boyfriend because he was flirting with my girlfri... Coral." Nico changed the word since Coral had broken up with him.
"Are you serious or are you playing dumb!". Lila was annoyed by the canary's blindness "he just used you the whole school knows Coral plays with other people's minds!".
"Like you're doing" Nico pointed his fingers at Lila.
"You're crazy I'm not that kind of woman" clarified Lila "you're just saying that because I didn't want to go out with you when you asked me to."
"First of all I never asked you and if I had I would never date a freak like you" Nico points at Lila "Just look at those feathers they are horrible you should pluck them out".
"Yeah... my feathers are weird so what... at least I don't do drugs or pretend to be someone I'm not and much less insult my friends who care about me even if I act like a jerk."
"Why don't you go fuck your boyfriend, maybe that way you'll get rid of your grumpiness and at the same time you'll take off that blouse that I'm sure is full of piss!". Nico raised her voice and some girls coming out of the bathroom got scared and moved away from Lila.
"Well I'm leaving and I hope I never see you again!" he raises his voice again "you'd be doing the world a favor if you'd disappear!".
"Well guess what miss, I don't want to see you either, there are plenty of Lilas in the world, DON'T THINK YOU'RE SO IMPORTANT!".
"I HATE YOU!" shouted Lila with much hatred clenching her fists showing hatred and pain in her eyes for what happened and with nothing more to say she left the place leaving the canary alone.
Nico was surprised by the words Lila said but he didn't show it so much and decided to turn around to leave the place.
RDJ paid the food bill and made a complaint about what happened at the table with Lila to avoid this kind of accidents. Once he finished talking to the waitress he saw Lila coming back from the bathroom but her soda stain had not completely disappeared.
"I'm sorry I'm late, it's just that the soda stain hasn't completely disappeared," Lila apologized, but her eyes looked a little watery.
"If you want you can wear my sweater so you won't feel uncomfortable" RDJ takes off his leather jacket and hands it to Lila "so no one will see you" he sees her teary eyes "are you ok?".
"I just used so much soap that I stained my hands and when I wanted to wash my face I was already covered in suds" Lila puts on her sweater and covers most of her stain "then we're leaving".
"Yeah sure" replied RDJ in a kind voice but this time Lila took him by the hand and he liked it very much "you are my guide".
They both left the arcade and started walking through the streets of Rio as they continued to get to know each other, some things surprised RDJ about Lila and Lila about RDJ, like RDJ's new love for gymnastics, sports and video games.
Lila realized that there were some things she didn't have in common with RDJ but she tried not to be rude and respect his likes and dislikes, but she did like to get in shape and have muscles because that was what attracted her to men. They both came to a small park and around it were houses and a small soccer and basketball court.
"I also like to draw and create stories," Lila said walking through the park with RDJ.
"Really?"
"Yes...in fact my friend Nath and I are making up a story that he's in charge of writing and I'm in charge of the drawings."
"Well, I'd like to see your drawings, I'm sure they're as pretty as you are" replied RDJ in a sweet voice.
"Hey... do you want to sit down for a while before we get to my house?" proposed Lila to rest a little.
"Sure, let's sit on that bench" agreed RDJ and sat with Lila on one of the public benches "I haven't been to a park in a while".
"And where is your house?
"I live just past the big hill over there."
"Ah, you live in the area where the soldiers retreated from the war?". Lila recognized that hill that divided the city neighborhoods and at the same time where she escaped from Philip on Halloween.
"You could say yes," RDJ replied.
"It must be great to have surviving warrior relatives."
"Still not bad where you live" confessed RDJ looking at the houses "this park is beautiful and lots of kids with their parents must have fun here."
"Also some couples" said Lila looking around "this park has many secrets".
"Hey... ammm... I wanted to ask you something" RDJ looks directly at Lila.
"What is it?"
"Do you have a friendly or angry relationship against Nico and his girlfriend?"
Lila got a little nervous she didn't think RDJ would pay attention to Nico's actions around her but she didn't want to be rude to the muscle macaw and decided to confess the truth to him since she had taken him into her confidence.
"Well...before he and I were friends but suddenly he changed and now he's acting like a jerk" Lila confessed "I mean why would you do something for a girl who's not worth it."
"Well, when you're in love, you'll do anything crazy to see that girl happy" RDJ replied to Lila's question.
"Well...yeah but it's also not that big of a deal or would you do that kind of thing because I wouldn't even do that."
"Just to see the girl I like I would" RDJ replied taking Lila's hand and she looked at him until she realized what he meant. A small silence fell in the park, only a few crickets or frogs jumping in the grass could be heard until RDJ got up the courage to speak.
"Lila...these last few weeks with you I have felt more comfortable and welcome in Blue Sky yes...my friends have also made me feel welcome but you... have done something bigger and more beautiful for me."
"You have also been very good to me RDJ I haven't felt this connected to a boy since..." Lila was about to say a name but remembering another part of her sad past she didn't want to speak.
"I understand you, I was hurt too and I stopped believing in love" RDJ looks at her with sparkling eyes and takes her by both hands "but with you I felt my heart beating again, those butterflies you feel in your stomach when you are in love".
Lila was so moved by the words of the blue and gold macaw. Letting herself be carried away by the beautiful moment she approached him and he approached her without stopping looking into each other's eyes, this time no one interrupted them and much less watched them, making them want to share a small but tender kiss on each other's beak.
RDJ felt the sweet and warm beak of the blue macaw all the love he has felt for Lila has been confessed and she responded by kissing him back while showing a small smile on her beak and taking the hands of the muscular macaw but when they least expected it they ended up breaking the kiss.
"Wooo... RDJ I... I... I... I didn't mean to..."
"No Lila... it was me who insisted" RDJ calmed Lila "because I'm in love with you and I want us to be more than friends."
"I... I'm in love with you too RDJ I didn't think I would believe in love again but with you it's different and our friendship was growing little by little we want to be together for a long time" she looks him in the eye
"So, do you want to be my girlfriend?" asked RDJ with tender voice.
"Yes RDJ, I want to be your girlfriend" Lila replied resisting the emotion.
Once again they both kissed again only this time they were hugging and smiling with their second kiss of the night but they were interrupted by someone hiding behind the bushes near the two biggest worm shaped slides in the park making noise.
"I think someone is spying on us" RDJ watched carefully where the sound was coming from.
"At this hour?" Lila looks around and sees the two slides and hears a squeaking sound "Maybe there are more couples besides us."
"How do you know?" asked RDJ.
(James Blunt's "You're beautiful" starts playing).
"Did you see those two slides over there" Lila pointed to the two slides that on the exit side were covered by some bushes "even an adult can get in there and many couples will go there to have fun alone do you understand?".
"Oh... this park doesn't look as harmless as it seems" RDJ looks at the slides.
My life is brilliant
"Like I told you this park has its secrets" Lila looks sideways at RDJ.
"Your eyes look so beautiful under the moon" RDJ looks at the two beautiful Lilas eyes of his new girlfriend.
"Ayyyy... RDJ" Lila blushed and this time she stole a passionate kiss from him and he responded by hugging her again.

(Rafael was consoling Eva at the exit of the theater as he had lost the contest and felt bad for having failed his mother)

(The hawk started walking back to his house with a big smile on his beak but once he was far away from Sorrel's house he took out his cell phone and sent a message)

(Rafael said goodbye to Eva giving her a big hug but Eva's mother watched from afar that it took them a long time to separate and from afar she saw the toucan caressing her daughter's back)

And we got to the end of the chapter dear readers. RDJ confessed his feelings for Lila now they are boyfriend and girlfriend... but Nico felt hurt again Coral broke up with him and told him the truth, they expected it right? The elephant that Lila wants as a prize was inspired by one of my daughter's videos "elephants swing" in the video there is a pink elephant and I remembered my favorite childhood series imaginary friends mansions where Blue and his friends win a pink elephant and I remembered that I wanted to have that toy when I was a kid and I put it in honor of that series and my baby's favorite drawing.
The song that plays at the end of the episode actually has two messages one is that you can never be with the person you love because they are with someone else, don't love you or only see you as a friend and the second is that it's about suicide because you don't have that person's love. I never saw that song the second way until I saw the original video and my god I was amazed I never thought the main meaning was about suicide for love.
Rafael is in trouble this time he will have to tell Eva the truth before Tomada does it at lunch time. Your criticisms and comments will be heard (as long as they are related to the story) until the next publication.
