Chapter 10
Percy's POV
Ollivanders.
That place was magical. You know, his dimension was more magical, myths, gods and all but...this was different. It was full of witch craft, potions and spells... No monsters trying to eat them... Or not yet.
He looked at Harry with amazement when he was picking his wand. He was even more shocked when he learned that his wand is basically twins with Volleyball?... his wand. He couldnt decide which one was more shocking. That Harry's wand is brother of that Volley guy's wand or that wands have twins.
When it was Annabeth's turn, Mr.Ollivander looked at her strangely. "You are... different" he said, suspicious. Annabeth smiled awkwardly, and reminded him to give her some wands. Mr.Ollivander smiled gracefully when he brought out even more wands. In the end, Annabeth got wand 9 inches long, made of vine wood and have unicorn hair core. According to Mr.Ollivander, he said that wand was special for being used for transfiguration. But he wouldnt stop staring at Annabeth. "But you are different..." he kept muttering until it was Percy's turn. Percy took a deep breath and went up to him. That guy was making him nervous.
Mr.Ollivander smiled. He asked for his wand arm and then the moment he saw his hand, his smile dropped. He looked into his eyes with mixed emotions. Admiration, confusion and fear. He silently brought out old looking box and blew the dust off...right in his face. Percy coughed and waved around, trying to get dusts away from himself.
Mr.Ollivander pulled out a wand. It had a carve of...waves? His heart skipped a beath when he saw it.
When Percy took it, a very cool feeling washed over his fingers. Refreshing, just like sea water. He waved it around and it created faint blue color in the air, following his hand movement.
"10 inches long, made of elm, with pheonix core" Mr.Ollivander informed. When they paid for their wands and turned to leave, Mr.Ollivander grabbed Percy. "Let me just have a talk with him" Mr.Ollivander told Hagrid. Hagrid raised his eyebrow. "Why?" he asked, suspicious. "Ah, just wanted to show him more wands, cause he looked so interested in wands" he said, with smile. "Right?" he pinched Percy. Percy looked at him in confusion. His face was blank, unable to read. He saw Annabeth slowly reached for her dagger. "Yes" Percy answered. He didnt want Annabeth to get into a troubled. "Alright then" Hagrid slowly said. "We will be at Leaky Cauldron, waiting for you".
"What is it?" Percy asked. He had his pen ready, just in case. "You...You are not normal" Mr.Ollivander said, looking at him with curiosity. He looked into his eyes really carefully. "You do not need wand to summon that magic inside of yours. So unique" he muttered. Percy was gripping his pen tightly. "Your wand is really ancient...Maybe even older than the Elder wand" he whispered. "That wand...It never chose any wizard or witches for hundreds of years. Or maybe even thousands. My family kept that wand in this box for years, looking for its rightful owner" he said, not breaking an eye contact. "And it chose...you. Let me tell you, wand chooses wizard. I dont know that much for now but please write to me and wait for my letters. I will look into it and tell you about it" he said. Percy was confused. He was nothing but confused all this time and he was getting tired of it. "What do you mean-" he started but Mr.Ollivander cut him off, saying "Now go! We took too long! And-" he looked straight into his eyes, full of seriousness. "Tell nobody about this".
