Mr. Wonka watched as Charlie eagerly drank from the cup, with a hint of a smile on his face. The two brothers were his favorite visitors so far, partly because they reminded him of Noodle. And yet… something was wrong with the older boy. Willy had no trouble about him not wanting to taste anything (after all, he understood not everyone could like candy as much as he did) but he had noticed how he looked in every direction constantly, and not in curiosity or amazement like the other kids did, but rather nervously, as if he was scared of something. The man lowered his gaze with a sigh. Judging by what he'd read on the newspapers, he couldn't blame him. Hard times tend to make one distrustful, he had seen it first-hand. After exchanging a quick glance with his daughter to make sure they were thinking the same thing, he decided to continue on schedule. Although he had visitors to attend now and had to focus on that, he had not forgotten the real reason he sent the golden tickets in the first place...And maybe he could help the kids along the way.

Willy's thoughts came to a halt upon seeing a bright red door, and he shouted for the oompa-loompas to stop the boat. It was time for the second stop of the way: the invention room.

Before letting his guests inside the chocolatier warned them not to touch anything, to which they all nodded, and as he unlocked the door none of them was aware of the secret hidden on the glint of his eyes.
