The room was fittingly named nut room, and didn't hold too many surprises aside from how well-trained the squirrels seemed to be. They worked quickly and efficiently, shelling the good nuts and throwing away the bad ones. Their tiny black eyes and paws were almost hypnotic to see as they moved around, and after so much excitement, Sam was glad about the change of pace. When Mr. Wonka told them he couldn't allow anyone to enter, the boy didn't mind one bit; he was okay with just watching the cute creatures do their thing. And so were all the other kids…Except one.

-Dad! – Veruca Salt shrieked-I want a squirrel! Get me a squirrel right now!

The boy sighed. Apparently peace could never last on this place.

For the next few minutes, they were front-row spectators of a full-blown temper tantrum, one of the many the girl had thrown throughout the visit and which they all had done a fantastic job ignoring. Only this time it was different, because unlike Veruca's father, Willy Wonka knew how to stand his ground, making it very clear to her she couldn't have one. Unfortunately, the man underestimated how spoiled the girl was and before he could stop her, she was already inside the room. Charlie and Sam watched her go near the squirrels, both thinking the same thing: "There's no way she is about to do what I think she's going to do, right?" Meanwhile, the chocolatier murmured a question to Noodle and she silently shook her head, but their guests were too busy watching the situation unfold to notice. One second the girl was reaching out to try and steal one of the squirrels, and the next she was on the ground, pinned down with all of them over her body. She was indeed trying to do what they thought, and was about to face the consequences. Some really gross consequences. And just at that exact moment, as Mr. and Mrs. Salt screamed in terror at the sight of their child being thrown down the garbage chute, a vague yet persistent suspicion sparked inside the eighteen- year old's mind. A weird feeling that only grew stronger as he took notice of the hosts' calm demeanor. It was as if…

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of drums. He could hear from afar the Oompa-Loompas singing a song about the girl and the lesson she should learn from her mistake. And as it ended, Sam finally knew exactly what the feeling was.

It was as if they knew what was going to happen to their guests. As if they knew it all along.
