Chapter 3 Zombie cows
Sean and Crypto soon landed on a farm without being detected.
"Ok so what are we looking for this time?" Sean asked as they got out.
"Those Cows as you call them are emitting low levels of Radiation." Pox said.
"Radiation? Are you sure? Thats not normal for cows or anything around here. Like I said this is all farm country here." Sean said.
"Maybe so. But something is going on and I wanna know what." Pox said as the two found glowing green cows.
"Uh...Last I remember they didn't glow...Least not during the day. Different species?" Crypto asked.
"Real funny grey man. NO. That is not normal period. Just scan them." Sean said getting him to do just that.
'Braaaaaiiiiiins.' The Cow thought.
"Wait...Brains?" Sean asked confused.
"Healthy green glow?" Pox asked.
"Oh for gods sakes don't tell me?" Sean asked annoyed.
"Those fools. They turned them into Genetic Zombie cows!" Pox yelled.
"How in the hell did they do that?" Sean asked.
"I don't know and I don't care." Pox said.
Spotting scientists up ahead.
"Watch this." Crypto said levitating one above them before dropping it as it exploded on them killing them.
"Serves them right." Sean said before snatching a file as they ran off.
"Ok let's see what they were doing." Crypto said as Sean read the file.
"Let's see here. Hmm. Not much for brains for former German scientist I'll say that. They were hoping they would strengthen the human population here with the milk they make. However no one is drinking it. Obviously." Sean said throwing the file away.
"The Shere Stupidity." Pox said.
"Pfft. Honestly I don't know whose dumb idea this was but it's all kinds of stupid. I mean. Glowing green cows. Green Milk. Who'd be dumb enough to drink that shit?" Sean asked.
"Idiots thats who. Anything more useful?" Crypto asked.
"Nothing just the name of the head scientist we just killed and...Hey." Sean said seeing a location blacked out. "Damnit." Sean said.
"What is it?" Pox asked.
"Guess they aren't as stupid as we believed. The place they came from was blacked out. I guess they didn't take chances incase someone figured out what they were up to and couldn't track the project." Sean said.
"Which could be where Crypto 136 is being held." Pox said.
"Maybe but..." Sean said before seeing people gathered around the Mayor's house. "Uh oh." Sean said.
"Where did he come from? Nevermind that! You must stop him before he reveals your existence." Pox said.
"Or we could take his appearance and make the people think theres nothing out of the ordinary going on around here. Feign ignorance and blame current events." Sean said.
"Yes...Perfect idea. Crypto get to it!" Pox yelled.
"Vaporizing this place would have been more fun." Crypto said.
"A farming settlement that doesn't even have a decent defense? Come on. Even for you thats lame." Sean said.
"Eh. Fair enough." Crypt said.
Later
Crypto took the Mayor's appearance before reassuring the crowd who bought it like idiots.
"Idiots." Sean said as Crypto walked back to him and Pox. "See this is why I hate Farm country. The whole place is full of idiots." Sean said.
"I concur." Pox said.
"No offense Kid but taking over this planet is way too easy. I honestly was hoping for a challenge." Crypto said making him scoff.
"Here you won't find one. Other places are different." Sean said.
"Like Santa Modesta?" Pox asked remembering one of the people talking about that place.
"Now that might have more intelligent people I'll admit. But only by a small percentage." Sean said.
"Whats Santa Modesta?" Crypto asked.
"Didn't you pay attention to your little gathering during the speech?" Pox asked.
"Must have missed it. Focusing on the love." Crypto said making Sean laugh.
"FOCUS BOTH OF YOU!" Pox yelled making them jump.
"Chill out. It's not even that big a place. It's mostly for the rich or modest living people. It's like A...Vacation town if you will." Sean said.
"Vacation huh? I can get in on that." Crypto said.
"Please you would stand out." Sean said.
"While it may not be as important as the area where 136 is it could hold some potential for information gathering." Pox said.
"I doubt it since the place is small...But theres always possibilities. Still before we go anywhere else let's see if we can find out anything more from those scientists from earlier. There might be something we missed." Sean said.
Going back to the farm however though everything was gone.
"Huh. guess those brainiacs cleared out in a hurry after the stunt we pulled." Crypto said.
"You mean you pulled." Sean said looking around before spotting another file and picked it up.
"Well?" Pox asked.
"It has mentions of Santa Modesta. That can't be a coincidence." Sean said.
"No it isn't. This only confirms why we must go there. And there could be clues on your mother as well." Pox said.
"Right. All right let's head out." Sean said as the two left.
What none of them saw however though was two men in black observing them from a distance.
"The alien is in our sights but...Theres a kid with them."
"A child?" Someone asked on the radio.
"Ten years old from the looks of it. Brown hair and green eyes...But we didn't hear a name."
"Monitor them closely."
"Yes Sir."
Author's Note: I know real short but at least it's something. Later Chapters will be longer and more intense since this is only level three. Anyway this was part of a large crossover for Christmas and to Introduce my new story called the Last which is a Star Wars X Justice League story with other crossovers.
