Chapter 37 Halo
It's been about 2 months since the Trade Federation was permanently disbanded and since the People of Krypton took their place in the trade franchise with far more fair and reasonable prices and extra supplies.
And of course the Separatists were angry they lost their eyes and ears within the senate and Viceroy was furious that Sean took away his business.
Right now however Sean was in the labs working on a new project.
"What are these?" Fives asked seeing some kind of gear.
"I call them Exo suits. Provides enhanced strength and speed as well as additional equipment." Sean said. (Exo Suits from Call of duty Advanced warfare)
"Nice." Cutup said before putting it on.
"It's still in the works but a demonstration is always appreciated." Sean said as Cutup started climbing the walls with ease before jumping down.
"I'd say these things are more than ready for combat testing." Rex said before a Gunship appeared through a Space bridge. "More Relics?"
"Heavy was looking for some earlier last night." Sean said jumping down before appearing next to Heavy. "What do we got this time?" Sean asked.
"Not sure." Heavy said opening them up.
"More infinity stones." Mimir said before Sean took out a glowing green stone.
"The Time stone. Capable of rewinding time or moving forward in time." Sean said before using it on a scrapped Tank before it started to fix itself like nothing happened to it in the first place.
"Whoa. Thats gonna come in handy when reviving the others." Heavy said.
"I wouldn't count on it. Reviving the dead can have negative consequences. I would prefer we use these on tanks and such or to restore temples." Sean said before putting it away.
"So thats another Infinity stone." Kenobi said approaching him with Anakin and Mace.
"Like I said there were many that hold an essential aspect of existence." Sean said opening another crate before seeing a lime green stone and picked it up. "The stone of resurrection." Sean said.
"I assume it can bring back people from the dead." Mace said.
"Yup. But like I said bringing back the dead can have negative consequences." Sean said.
"Shouldn't we at least...Try." Anakin said.
"I know what you're thinking Anakin. You want to revive your mother. But believe me using this stone can have negative consequences. Besides...It can only revive one person per day. That was a safety feature my dad put in place so they can't assemble an army of the dead from across time." Sean said.
"A wise choice." Mace said.
"Are there any loopholes in that though?" Anakin asked curious.
"One. I said you can't put all the stones together. I never said you couldn't use them in combinations. If you used the resurrection stone combined with the power stone it would break that safety feature and revive millions in a day instead of one." Sean said.
"So certain stones compliment others in combination." Anakin said.
"Yeah. If you use the Realty stone it's limited to an extent. If you combine it with the Power stone it's completely real. Combine them with the Space stone and its reach is extended." Sean said.
"Interesting." Kenobi said before Sean opened up the next crate.
"Hmm." Sean said pulling out some large black sword. "A set of Ebony armor and weapons." Sean said before Anakin pulled out a battle Axe. (from Skyrim)
"Heh. I gotta admit Hephaestus's students knew what they were doing." Anakin said inspecting it.
"By the way. What happened to Detective Divo?" Kenobi asked.
"Oh...I forgot to mention this." Sean said.
Flashback (I hate myself for forgetting to add this in last chapter but I forgot)
Tan Divo was filing a report when Sean and his EM-208's walked in.
"Commander Kruger. To what do I owe this honor? Come to ask my superiors to give me a promotion on my investigation of the Chairman's daughters?" Divo asked.
"You are under arrest." Sean said as his droids restrained him.
"WAIT WHAT!" Divo yelled in shock. "On what charges?" Divo asked.
"For accepting bribes from the Trade Federation and tampering with your regular droids to follow your commands only to ignore all evidence. Not only that but this isn't the first time you've accepted a bribe. So all your cases will be reopened and the people you've arrested will be let out." Sean said shocking him.
"NO! You don't understand! If you arrest me those people will kill me!" Divo yelled.
"Killing you is the least of your worries. Once you go to prison the people there will tear you to shreds in the most painful way possible." Sean said as he was dragged out with great resistance. (Again I really wish I didn't forget this last chapter)
End Flashback
"And I thought you hated Burtoni that much." Anakin said before an alert came up.
"What is it now?" Sean asked before the screens lit up.
"Thats odd. One of our light cruisers in unknown space." Mace said.
"Not really. I decided to see if we could find additional allies in the unknown regions. They must have found something since they marked their position." Sean said.
"But they're not reporting in." Anakin said.
"Yeah that is strange. Tell Captain Keys to prep the Pillar of Autumn. We're gonna see exactly what they found." Sean said.
"I'll round up the boys. Could be Droids." Rex said.
"Only one way to find out." Sean said.
Later
The Pillar of Autumn came out of Hyper Space.
"Why exactly would you have our forces scouting the unknown regions when we have a war going on?" Captain Keys asked Sean and Tarkin.
"For potential allies of course. And hopefully to deprive Dooku of gaining any allies for his cause." Tarkin said.
"Exactly. Now we should be coming up on their last known location. Cortana." Sean said before a Female AI appeared.
"They should be...Right here." Cortana said before they came to the sight of the wrecked Republic light cruiser that was in pieces.
"What the hell?" Sean asked.
"I don't like this." Kenobi said.
"Nor do I. Any chance we can recover the flight recorder?" Mace asked.
"Hang on a second." Sean said activating a device in hand. "I installed a security measure to send everything that happens on the cruisers and bring it right back." Sean said before playing a recording.
"To any Republic vessels in the sector...Our cruiser is being attacked by unknown hostiles after we discovered...AHHHH!" A clone yelled on the recording.
"I do not like that. New Separatist allies?" Keys asked.
"No. I don't we're dealing with Separatists. They found something out here." Sean said.
"I think I know what." Anakin said pointing ahead.
In front of them was a giant metal Ring that had livable surface with earth and water.
"What the?" Heavy said in awe.
"Ever seen anything like this?" Tarkin asked Sean.
"No. I haven't. This is completely new." Sean said before the ship shook violently.
"The hell was that?" Cody asked before small fighters of unknown designs appeared.
"Oh hell! It had to be them." Sean annoyed.
"Enemies of yours?" Kenobi asked.
"They're called San'Shyuums. But they fancy themselves as superiors to every life form in the galaxy. They call themselves the Hierarchs." Sean said. (From Halo of course)
"I recall you mentioned them some time ago." Tarkin said.
"They must have attacked the light cruiser after they discovered this ring. They only go after objects of their religion. This ring must be one of them." Sean said.
"Then that tears it then. Bring up the crew to threat alert and we'll call in for some backup." Keys said.
"Can't. They knocked out our communication system with that hit." Cortana said.
"Once we don't report in to Coruscant in a few days they'll send a larger force to search for us." Sean said.
"Agreed." Mace said leaving.
"And Cortana...Wake him up." Sean said making her smirk.
"I knew you were gonna say that." Cortana said.
"Him?" Tarkin asked confused.
"You'll see." Sean said.
In the Cryo chambers some men were keeping it secure when they got the alert.
"Whoa. Sir?" One of the Techs asked.
"Right. Let's thaw him out." Another said.
In one of the Cryo Chambers was a man in Spartan armor before he was thawed out before the chamber opened up.
This was Spartan 117 The Master Chief.
"Welcome back sir. We're in a bit of a situation right now." One of the Techs said.
"Crewmen we need the Chief up here on the double." Keys said.
"Sir we still need to do the weapons check and..."
"Now." Sean said.
"Right away sir. Guess we're pressed for time."
Sean and the others were waiting before.
"Lieutenant." Chief said to Sean making him face him with a grin.
"Heh. I out rank you now Chief. It's Supreme Commander now. You've been on ice for a while. I'll explain the full situation as best I can later. Right now we have a fight on our hands and are unknown territory." Sean said before the ship shook violently.
"Your friends have just taken out our main cannon." Cortana said.
"Ok thats it. We're abandoning ship. I was all escape pods and gun ships to head for that Ring." Sean said.
"I agree. That means you as well Cortana." Keys said.
"And you do what? Go down with the ship?" Cortana asked.
"In a manner of speaking. I'm gonna try and land on the ring." Keys said.
"With all due respect, sir, this war has enough dead heroes." Cortana said.
"It's not that simple Cortana. Capture or destruction of any AI is unacceptable. It's protocol. Chief will be protecting you while we're on the ground." Sean said.
"Exactly." Keys said.
"All right fine." Cortana said before Sean pulled her chip out and handed her to Chief who put her in his helmet.
"Hmm. Your architecture is similar to the Autumn." Cortana said.
"Don't get any funny ideas." Chief said before Keys handed him a pistol.
"I don't usual keep her loaded. You'll have to find ammo as you go." Keys said before the ship shook again.
"Now what?" Sean asked.
"Sir! We got enemy forces boarding the Autumn. I recommend a fully retreat to the escape pods!" Rex said blasting the Hierarchs.
"Ok thats it. There are separate escape pods. We'll have to split up and get off." Sean said as they rushed off.
Heavy was using his Smart gun on several Hierarchs before one with shielding came in and blasted his troops.
"Vermin." He said before his head was cut off by Sean using his Star Saber.
"Sir." Heavy said.
"We're getting off this ship. We'll meet up with the others." Sean said as they rushed off.
Kenobi, Anakin and Mace fought off a large number of Hierarchs before a gunship flew up and blasted them.
"Lets get going." Anakin said as they got on and flew off the ship.
A trooper was running to an escape pod when he tripped.
"Oh no, oh no." He said before Chief pulled him up and placed him inside.
"Now would be a very good time to leave." Cortana said before they got on and the pod launched.
Sean and Heavy got in one pod before it launched.
"What the hell did you do to piss them off?" Heavy asked.
"Nothing. When I first arrived they just shot at me and called me trash." Sean said. "They think the galaxy belongs to them for some dumb religious reason." Sean said.
"Hey check it out." A clone said seeing the Autumn flying off to the ring.
"Ah! I knew that old man would do this! He's going in manually." Sean said.
Later
"We're coming in hot!" Heavy said before they landed.
"Ow." Sean said holding his head before kicking the doors down. "This is why I hate escape pods." Sean said.
"Where are we exactly?" Heavy asked.
"No clue. But I can guess the others must be close by." Sean said before they heard gunfire.
"Lets go!" Heavy yelled as they rushed off
Anakin, Kenobi and Mace along with the others from the Autumn were fighting off the Hierarchs before the Chief rushed in and killed them all.
"Master Chief." Tarkin said.
"Captain. Where are the others?" Chief asked.
"Over here." Sean said as his group rushed in.
"Now I see why you hate these guys." Sabine said kicking on away.
"They're idiots who think everything should be theirs." Sean said.
"Ok so we need to regroup and find the others." Anakin said.
"We need a base of operations before we decide anything." Tarkin said.
"We can't stay here. Too open for ambushes." Sean said.
"First thing is we should regroup and plan our next assault before reinforcements arrive. And more importantly find out exactly why these people are interested in this ring." Kenobi said.
"I agree." Tarkin said.
"Ok let's spread out and look for the others." Sean said before a couple Pelicans arrived before loading off more troops and a few Warthogs. "Lets go." Sean said as he and the Chief got on before searching.
Fives and the rest of his squad were pinned down by the Hierarchs.
"It's no use. We can't move from here!" Cutup said before gun fire was heard making them look before seeing Sean and the Chief arrive before Sean took out his Star Saber and sent a wave of power that turned them to dust with ease.
"Commander." Fives said approaching him.
"This all thats left?" Sean asked seeing at least a dozen troops.
"They ambushed us pretty hard." Echo said.
"Found some survivors. Mark my position and bring them to the rely point." Sean said.
"Copy that sir." A clone pilot said flying towards them.
"Sean...Kenobi have found something. You need to see this." Mace said.
"We're on our way." Sean said as they drove to their location before arriving in some tunnel.
"These are no natural cave formations." Cortana said.
"I don't think anything on this ring is natural." Sean said before they arrived in a room. "What the?" Sean tried to say seeing the place with highly advanced technology.
"Our thoughts exactly. This technology is far more advanced than anything in both the Republic and Separatists." Kenobi said.
"Whoever built this ring knew what they were doing. It holds some purpose." Sean said as they got off.
"Commander. Almost everyone is accounted for. Only Captain Keys and those left on the Autumn are missing." Heavy said.
"I think I know where. Keys transponder is located on one of the Hierarchs cruisers. Along with everyone else that survived the crash." Cortana said.
"Ok thats it. We're planning a rescue mission. Get our people back and then find out what the hell this ring is and why they're so interested in it." Sean said.
Later
A small group of troops were under the Cruiser where Captain Keys and the other prisoners were at.
"Why would they take the Captain instead of killing him?" Anakin asked.
"They may be self righteous idiots but they're not stupid. They know those with rank have valuable intel." Sean said as they scouted out the area before coming to a drop off point. "Chief, You lead our troops inside while we hold them off." Sean said.
"Understood." Chief said before they went to a gravity lift before entering the ship.
"VERMIN!" A hierarch yelled before they started blasting them.
"Oh great." Anakin said taking his lightsaber out before slashing them before Sean was engulfed in white lightning before blasting them to dust.
Chief and the others made it into the ship before coming into contact with the enemy.
"Destroy the Vermin."
"Commander was not kidding when he said they were full of themselves." Echo said blasting them.
Sean slashed through the last of them before stabbing his sword into the ground before looking around.
"What is it?" Anakin asked.
"Theres something about this ring that bugs me. Look around. Technology so advanced it makes everything in the past and present look like Childs play." Sean said.
"Ok so?" Anakin asked.
"Where are the people who created it?" Sean asked making him frown.
"Yeah...thats a good question." Anakin said.
Keys was in a cell with the others before the doors were blown down before the Master Chief and his men rushed in before freeing them.
"Coming here was reckless. You three know better than this." Keys said.
"Your welcome." Sean said amused on the comms. "In any event we don't leave our people behind." Sean said.
"True. While we were held prisoner those long necked freaks were talking about this place. They called it Halo." Keys said.
"Catchy." Sean said making Anakin chuckle.
"One moment." Cortana said accessing their battle net. "You were right. This ring holds some significant religious beliefs to these Hierarchs." Cortana said.
"Told you. Does it say what it does?" Sean asked.
"Well, according to them it's a weapon of some kind of unimaginable power." Cortana said.
"That explains it. They kept saying they now held the power to control the universe now." Keys said.
"No one ring could possibly be that powerful...Uh could it?" Cutup asked.
"Do you not see the level of technology here? It's more advanced than anything I've ever seen or made. Theres only one other race I know with technology near this level and even they would be amazed by it." Sean said.
"Speaking of the ring I've intercepted a number of communications about some control room. Maybe it's how they intend to use the ring." Cortana said.
"Thats bad news. If Halo is a weapon they'll use it to gain control of the entire galaxy. The clone wars will be the least of our worries." Keys said.
"I agree. We need to regroup and plan out our next move." Sean said.
Later
Everyone that was left from the Autumn was at the camp they set up.
"So this ring is some kind of weapon of unimaginable power?" Kenobi said.
"So it seems. The only question is how do we respond? Do we wait for backup or take the fight to them?" Keys asked.
"We fight now. I'm not gonna risk them gaining control of the ring." Sean said.
"I agree. If Halo is truly this powerful we need to gain control of it before they do and shut it down. We still have no idea what it does exactly and until we do we cannot risk it falling into their hands." Tarkin said.
"Fair enough." Keys said.
"So what do we do?" Anakin asked.
"We attack on multiple fronts. Cortana has located several locations where these bastards are. Keys will lead a squad in one location. Tarkin will lead another while Kenobi, Anakin and Mace leader their squads together. The Chief and Heavy will be with me while we locate the Control room." Sean said.
"Lets hope we can hold out until backup arrives." Mace said.
Next day
A small group of Gunships arrived at one location.
In the back of a Pelican was Sean, The Master Chief and Heavy.
"We sure this is the control room?" Heavy asked.
"According to communications between the Hierarchs. Theres something called the Cartographer which will lead us to the control room." Cortana said.
"Then this is our stop. The sooner we find the control room the sooner we can stop them." Sean said as they got off.
"Commander the Hierarchs are dug in pretty deep here. We'll be out of contact for a while." Keys said.
"Roger that Keys. Good luck." Sean said.
"Like we need it." Sabine said making him roll his eyes in amusement.
After hours of fighting off the Hierarchs Sean and his team made it to the cartographer.
"Now let's find out where the Control room is." Sean said accessing it. "Thats odd." Sean said.
"What is it?" Chief asked.
"It's in the lower regions. This ring has multiple layers. The Control room is much lower than expected but not that far. We're actually right on top of it. We just need to go down lower." Sean said.
"A ring like planet with livable surface and inner levels. Why am I not surprised?" Heavy asked.
"I need a gunship to take us to the lower levels." Sean said on the comms.
"Right away sir." A clone said before a gunship arrived before taking them lower.
Arriving at the lower levels it was covered in snow.
"Oh why am I not surprised?" Sean asked before they got off.
"Which was to the control room?" Chief asked.
"About a couple clicks that way." Sean said moving forward.
Having fought off a large number of Hierarchs they finally made it to the control room.
"Hook me up." Cortana said getting the Chief to do just that. "This is incredible. The amount of knowledge this place has is amazing." Cortana said in awe.
"Stay focused. What is this thing exactly?" Sean asked.
"Hang on a second. I'm receiving a transmission from the Hierarchs. Something has them scared. They found something...Right where Captain Keys was at actually." Cortana said in alarm.
"Nothing frightens them easily. Ok. Stay here and learn what you can. We'll go in and rescue Keys and the others." Sean said as the three left.
Later
"This is where I dropped of Captain Keys and his team." A clone pilot said dropping the three off.
"Whatever's inside can't be good." Heavy said.
"Lets go." Sean said as they went inside the structure.
"This doesn't look good." Heavy said seeing several dead bodies of the Hierarchs inside before they went to a lift to the lower levels.
"Cortana said they found something here. Maybe this ring is meant to contain something." Chief said.
"That might be true. But we need to know what." Sean said before opening a door before someone started shooting at them.
"NO! STAY AWAY FROM ME! GET AWAY!" Sabine screamed.
"Whoa Sabine! It's just us!" Sean yelled making her stop.
"Sean?" Sabine asked before he poked his head in making her sigh in relief before he rushed in and held her. "I'm sorry I thought you were one of those things." Sabine said.
"Things? What things?" Sean asked.
"Didn't you get my message?" Sabine asked.
"You must have been cut off from us inside this place. What happened?" Sean asked.
"The Captain and my team went in here and killed a few of the Hierarchs. But then we found a sealed room. They sealed it off. We didn't know why at first. Then Keys had me open it. Thats when...Those things attacked." Sabine said.
"What things?" Chief asked before.
"THEM!" Sabine yelled pointing behind them making them look before seeing disgusting looking slimy creatures.
"What the?" Sean said before Heavy used his Smart gun on them but they just kept coming before Chief fired as well.
"The hell are these things?" Heavy asked
"No idea." Sean said before blasting them with white lightning before they were all dead. "The fuck?" Sean asked.
"What you never seen those before?" Sabine asked.
"Uh uh. I have no idea in hell what those fucking things were. But clearly they're just as dangerous as the Xenomorphs if not more." Sean said. (Which they are)
"We need to move." Chief said before they headed up topside.
"I need everyone to respond immediately!" Sean yelled on the comms.
"Whats going on?" Anakin asked.
"We may have a new situation here. Theres some kind of parasites the Hierarchs unintentionally unleashed. Captain Keys and the others are MIA." Sean said.
"What kind of Parasite?" Tarkin asked.
"They latched onto my team and turned them into mutant freaks. They tore right through us." Sabine said.
"Everyone back to camp now." Sean said.
"Sir! Our base has been overrun by some kind of...We're nearly...AHHHH!" A clone at the camp yelled.
"FUCK!" Sean yelled before more showed up before they were blasted by some kind of advanced machines.
"Hello."
Sean looked up seeing some flying orb.
"Greetings. I am the monitor of installation Zero-four. I am 343 Guilty spark." Spark said.
"Hello." Sean said.
"Someone has released the flood." Spark said.
"Flood? Thats what these things are?" Sean asked.
"Indeed. My function is to prevent them from leaving this installation. But I require your assistance." Spark said.
"My assistance?" Sean asked.
"Yes. I am prohibited from activating the ring myself. Only a reclaimer my access the index to activate this ring to destroy the flood." Spark said.
"So thats what this Ring does. Ok...Chief. I want you to lead everyone back to the control room ASAP. I'm gonna find this Index and activate the ring to kill the flood." Sean said.
"Understood." Chief said.
"Be careful." Sabine said.
"I will. Let's go." Sean said before they teleported.
Minutes later
Sean and Spark appeared in some room.
"Wheres the Index?" Sean asked.
"Up on the higher levels. I will need to clear the way for you to reach it." Spark said.
"And you couldn't take me to the top because?" Sean asked.
"My programing forbids me from doing so otherwise security measures would be activated." Spark said.
"So who built this place?" Sean asked looking around.
"Why the Forerunners of course. By order of the high council." Sean said.
"High council?" Sean asked before a door to a lift opened up and they went up.
"The high council protected the galaxy for many years. Until the Flood appeared." Spark said before the doors opened up and a large number of flood appeared int he hundreds. "Oh my." Spark said before Sean grabbed his Star Saber.
"AHHH!" Sean roared before slashing a large wave of power at them which turned them to dust.
"How intriguing. I have never seen the flood so easily destroyed by a weapon such as this." Spark said.
"It's called the Star Saber. created by my father. It's a combination of both Science and Magic. A deadly combination." Sean said placing it on his back before another door opened up before the index was revealed before Sean took it before Spark did as well.
"Protocol requires I take the Index as your form is vulnerable to mutation." Spark said.
"Whatever." Sean said before they teleported.
Meanwhile
About a hundred troops were inside the control room. Some were greatly injured from their fight against the flood.
"What the hell were those things?" Fives asked.
"Spark called them the Flood. I don't know. Whatever they are...They're more dangerous than those Xenos." Heavy said.
"No kidding." Rex said before Sean and Sparks appeared.
"Whoa...Shit." Sean said getting his balance.
"Sir." Heavy said approaching him.
"Is this all thats left?" Sean asked seeing only a hundred out of the thousand troops that came.
"Sadly yes. Most of our boys got wiped out at camp." Rex said.
"Well, now we have a way to stop them." Sean said as Spark gave him the index. "This index will activate the ring. And then we clear out the Hierarchs." Sean said approaching the terminal.
"Lets hope this works." Anakin said before Sean placed it in and it did power up but then stopped.
"Odd...That wasn't supposed to happen." Spark said.
"Oh really?" Cortana said appearing and blasted him.
"Hey!" Sean said.
"I spent hours watching you screw around with him as he got ready to slit our throats." Cortana said.
"What the hell are you talking about? He's ally." Sean said.
"Oh really? Do you have any idea what that bastard almost made you do?" Cortana asked annoyed.
"Uh try activate the defense systems to wipe out the flood? Why do you think I got the Index?" Sean said.
"You mean this?" Cortana said holding it up.
"A construct? In the core? That is absolutely unacceptable." Spark said.
"Sod off." Cortana said.
"What Impertinence. I shall purge you at once." Spark said.
"You sure thats a good idea." Cortana said as the Index vanished.
"How...How dare you!" Spark said.
"Enough!" Sean said stopping them. "Cortana the flood is spreading. If we don't activate Halo's defenses they will get off the ring." Sean said.
"Thats not how the Ring works. Yes it does kill Flood but not the way your clearly thinking. The only way to kill them off is to starve them to death. They eat Biological food. Humans, Hierarchs, Elites, whatever. Thats what Halo is meant for. To deprive them of food. Halo can wipe the galaxy clean of life. Don't believe me? Ask him." Cortana said making him frown before the troops aimed at Spark as he turned around.
"Is that true?" Sean asked.
"More or less. Technically this installation's pulse range is about 25,000 lightyears. But once the others follow suit the galaxy will be Devoid of life...As it was once before." Spark said.
"What do you mean before? Were these rings activated once?" Anakin asked.
"But of course. The high council ordered the rings built for this very reason. Amara Kruger was the one who gave that order." Spark said.
"Wait what?" Sean asked making sure he heard that last part right.
"Your ancestor was the one who lead the high council for 10,000 years bringing an age of peace the likes of which was never seen before. However even she knew the only way to stop the flood was to starve them with sentient life with sufficient biomass. She and the other council members did try everything else before using the rings. But after exhausting every other strategic option she and the council activated the rings." Spark said.
"Amara Kruger?" Kenobi asked.
"Drago Kruger was the first Kruger that I know." Sean said.
"Drago was her son. At least a cloned version using her DNA to create a son. She and the other high council members were the only ones who could activate the rings using their DNA with the Index's. They cloned children to continue they're bloodline incase the rings would ever need to be used once more." Spark said before flying to Anakin. "This one is also the blood of a council member." Spark said shocking him.
"Wait what?" Anakin said.
"Alexander Skywalker was one of the highest ranking council members right next too Amara. He was in charge of the Military during those years against the flood." Spark said.
"Just when you think you know the family history. But back to the matter at hand there is no way we can activate this ring. There has to be another way." Sean said.
"If you will not follow protocol...I will simply find someone else who is the blood of the council." Spark said before the same machines that attacked the flood arrived before firing on the wounded before Sean slashed his blade destroying them before Spark fled.
"If this ring were to be destroyed the resulting shockwave would destroy almost anything on it." Tarkin said.
"But we would need something big enough to cause that big an explosion." Kenobi said.
"We do. The same way we got here." Sean said.
"The Autumn?" Mace asked.
"The Autumn is the only remaining ship that hadn't been upgraded with the engines. The resulting explosion would be big enough to destroy this ring." Sean said.
"Then we need to get back to it and trigger it." Anakin said.
"One problem. I don't have the access codes to unlock the fusion reactors. It's standard protocol for only one person on each cruiser to have the codes for everything." Sean said.
"Than we need to locate captain Keys." Chief said.
"I don't know where he is. Everyone split when the Flood came out." Sabine said.
"Lucky I do." Cortana said showing his location.
"He's held prisoner again?" Sean asked seeing he was on the same ship as before.
"I don't think so something is wrong." Cortana said.
"Ok. Chief you and Cortana are with me. Everyone else head to the Autumn." Sean said.
"How far is the Captain?" Chief asked.
"About a few hours away. Fortunately I think I can use your shields to use the same teleportation method the Monitor uses." Cortana said.
"All right let's go." Sean said.
Meanwhile
A large number of Hierarchs were running away in fear as the Flood had taken their ship.
Chief and Sean appeared on the ship when the later was upside down.
"What...AHH!" Sean yelled as he fell down. "You did that on purpose." Sean said to Cortana making her chuckle.
"You can't say you don't deserve it." Cortana said.
"Whatever." Sean said standing up before they searched for the Captain.
"Kruger? Don't be a fool! Leave...Me!" Keys said on the comms but it was in static.
"Keys? Damnit! Something ain't right." Sean said before they came to a large number of Hierarchs who tried to shoot them only to get killed themselves.
"A parasite that can mutate any corpse and they pick a fight with us." Cortana said.
"Like I said they are idiots." Sean said before they rushed into the hanger finding a pile of bodies. "Their gathering bodies to feed aren't they?" Sean asked.
"Most likely. I can see why they're terrified of them." Cortana said before they went up.
"I'm giving both of you a direct order! Leave...NOW!" Keys yelled.
"Something ain't right Chief. We need to hurry." Sean said as they rushed into a room but found a disturbing sight.
The Captain was in a giant Flood spore.
"No human life signs detected. He's one of them. You know what he would want us to do." Cortana said before Chief punched the head before grabbing his neural implants with the codes.
"Lets get out of here." Sean said as they left.
"Sean. Have you and Chief found Keys?" Kenobi asked.
"Yeah we did. He didn't make it. We have the codes. We're on our way back." Sean said.
Later
Heavy and his squad were by an entrance when they arrived using an empty room that once had an escape pod.
"Wheres Keys?" Fives asked.
"He didn't make it. They turned him into one of them. Doesn't matter now. We got what we need." Sean said as they walked to the bridge.
Anakin and the others were at the bridge when they arrived.
"Lets hope this works." Sean said as Cortana was linked back with the ship.
"I leave home for a few days and this is what happens." Cortana said.
"Oh please." Sean said giving her the codes.
"Fusion reactors are in good condition. I'll set a timer and have one of the gunships get us off this ring." Cortana said.
"We're out of gunships. The Hierarchs shot down the last of them when we got here." Anakin said.
"The Ebon Hawk should be in the hanger." Tarkin said.
"It's there. Still in good condition." Cortana said setting the timer.
"I'm afraid thats out of the question." Spark said on the comms.
"Oh hell." Cortana said.
"Ridicules! That you would Imbue a warships AI with such a wealth of Knowledge. Weren't you worried you would be captured or destroyed?" Spark asked in the engine room.
"He's in the engine room." Cortana said.
"You can't imagine how exciting it is to have such a wealth of knowledge. I will enjoy categorizing it." Spark said downloading everything.
"That thing is getting on my nerves." Anakin said.
"Likewise." Sean said.
"Aw damnit! He's stopped the countdown. Theres now for me to overload the fusion reactors now." Cortana said.
"How long would it take for them to go off if they had an accident. Like say...A grenade went off?" Sean asked.
"About long enough for us to get to the hanger...Why?" Cortana tried to ask before the Chief had a Grenade in hand.
"Bingo. Lets get this over with." Sean said.
After arriving in the engine room Chief and the clones placed a grenade at each engine.
"NOW!" Sean yelled as they blew before the whole ship shook violently.
"We need to get to the hanger now!" Kenobi said.
"There are some warthogs close by. We can use those to get there faster." Rex said.
Using the Warthogs they managed to get to the hanger that was overrun with the Flood before they cleared a way before getting inside.
"Take off already!" Cortana yelled before Sean got in the Pilot seat.
"Hang on!" Sean yelled as he took off before flying out of the Autumn and off the ring just as it blew.
Sean growled as the Engines were overheating.
"Shut those down. We'll need them later." Anakin said getting him to do so.
"Take a look." Kenobi said as Halo was breaking apart destroying everything there including the flood.
"Halo...It's finished." Cortana said.
"Our engines are fried. We're stuck." Cody said.
"Hmm." Sean said before a large ship came out of hyper space. "Oh problem solved." Sean said before the Ebon Hawk was pulled inside.
"Allies of yours?" Tarkin asked.
"The same ones who gave me Pangea." Sean said before they walked off.
"Of all the stupid things you could have done you had to Find Halo."
"Uh who said that?" Anakin said.
"Look down." Sean said making them look seeing a rather small Alien with big eyes. "Nice to see you again Azmuth." Sean said making him grin. (From Ben 10 alien force)
"Likewise. Still why'd you have to go and find Halo?" Azmuth asked.
"Wait you knew about this? Why didn't you destroy it?" Sean asked.
"Destroy something so powerful and advanced by an empire that brought 10,000 years of Peace? Even you wouldn't do that." Asmuth said.
"I would if I knew those Parasites were there." Sean said.
"Ah the Flood. They were contained inside until those Hierarchs as you call them arrived." Azmuth said.
"Seems they matched every description you gave."
Sean looked and saw someone in golden armor who had purple skin.
"Thanos." Sean said making him grin. (Yes Thanos from Marvel movies but before anyone judges wait till you here this one's history)
"It's been a long time old friend." Thanos said.
"Yeah. So how many rings are there?" Sean asked Azmuth.
"I only knew about this one. The others are at the far corners of the galaxy. But only certain people can use the Index to activate them. People like you, Skywalker, Thanos..." Azmuth tried to say.
"And me."
Sean widened his eyes seeing...
"Zakhaev?" Sean asked seeing his former Mentor who attacked the Senate last year.
Anakin and the others activated their lightsabers seeing him.
"Calm down. He's an ally." Azmuth said.
"Your ally attacked our Senate last year." Anakin said.
"Actually I did you a favor by removing a Separatist spy." Zakhaev said shocking them.
"The Senator you killed?" Kenobi asked.
"He was planning to sell high value Republic secrets to Dooku. Why do you think he pushed so hard against the privacy invasion bill?" Zakhaev asked making them lower their weapons.
"Well it makes sense." Sean said. (To be fair theres nothing really known about the Senator that Bane killed in the Hostage episode so anything can go you know)
"I assume you plan to join the Republic?" Tarkin asked Azmuth.
"Not directly. If Galvan were to join the Republic directly planets we control like Pangea would be open for invasion. However we can send our scientists to aid the Republic in scientific research." Azmuth said.
"However my home planet Titan would gladly join the Republic." Thanos said.
"I agree and since Krypton took over the Trade Franchise they'll be able to help them out with the small problem." Sean said.
"And what problem would that be?" Mace asked.
"You may not find this to be much of a big problem but Overpopulation is indeed a great problem. Too many people means too many mouths to feed and dries up supplies like crazy. Thanos's people were facing this problem and desperatly needed a solution. So I provided one once I saw the situation." Sean said.
"And what solution was that?" Anakin asked.
"Cryso stasis. Put the younger generation into Stasis as the older Generation dies off slowly over the years. Once a certain number was reached they come out." Sean said.
"I see. Thats a rather excellent and humane solution." Kenobi said impressed.
"Which is why I owe him a debt for saving my people." Thanos said.
"Lets get back to the Senate. Both them and the Separatists are gonna wanna hear this." Sean said.
"The Separatists?" Anakin asked.
"In this case we have another common enemy. The Hierarchs will declare war not just against the Republic but them as well. And we can assume the Forerunners and the high council have other secrets throughout the galaxy. We need to come to an agreement on how to handle them." Sean said.
"I agree." Mace said.
Later
After informing both the Senate and the Separatists about the Halo rings and the Hierarchs both sides agreed that whenever either of them came up a cease fire agreement would be put in place to handle the situation.
Currently right now Sean was meeting with Palpatine.
"I must admit I never once thought such weapons could ever exist. Your ancestor made a great sacrifice for all of us." Palpatine said.
"Yeah. I always assumed My grandfather Drago Kruger was the First Kruger. Finding out there was another beforehand is a lot to take in. Still we need to be on alert for the Hierarchs." Sean said.
"Oh we will. In the meantime I believe you are long overdue for some time off." Palpatine said.
"Sir?" Sean asked confused.
"You've been at this for some time with no breaks. I recommend going back home for a while. After all even you have limits." Palpatine said.
"Well...I guess wouldn't hurt to be on Earth for a while." Sean said.
After his meeting Sean was back in the Jedi temple where Azmuth was explaining the rings to the council.
"But to build weapons like this is unthinkable." Saesee Tiin said.
"Actually you should be grateful they did activate the rings...Otherwise you wouldn't be who you are today." Azmuth said.
"I'm not sure I follow." Mundi said.
"As it turns out the Rings had an unusual side effect when fired. Created something from the remains of all living beings in the galaxy." Azmuth said showing something they were all too familiar with.
"Midi-Chlorians?" Shaak Ti asked surprised.
"Every living being in the galaxy turned to these when the rings were fired. Which is how your order came to be." Azmuth said shocking them.
"Everything always does have a point of Origin." Sean said.
"So the Halo rings created the force." Kenobi said rubbing his beard.
"Thats correct. Possibly unintentionally or the Council did this on purpose." Azmuth said.
"How many council members were there exactly?" Sean asked.
"Best guess is at least 20 and all the bloodlines are still intact." Azmuth said.
"We need to find the rest of these bloodline of this council before the Hierarchs do. Once they learn they can't use them since I doubt any of them are a direct descendant of this council." Mace said.
"You'd be correct." Azmuth said.
Meanwhile
Sabine was packing up a bag to head with Sean back to Earth.
After what happened her mother suggested she take a leave of absence which she fully agreed.
"Ready?" Sean asked making her grin before she walked to him and kissed him.
"Oh yeah. I am so looking forward to a vacation." Sabine said making him smirk.
"You and all the others. Even Chuchi and Oola are coming for a vacation. One thats long overdue for everyone." Sean said.
Authors Note: And now begins the Lemon arc. There will be at least five chapters of lemons involved in this Arc going on for at least a month before they rejoin the war. I did say I would be holding this off until after this Chapter though I never gave the name. Yes I did the Halo Chapter very differently than you all probably expected.
