Chapter 42 The Return
It has been seven months since the end of the Clone wars and since the Republic was disbanded into what is now known as the Legion. A new and far more efficient Government that was not controlled by senators but by competent and effective members of a high council that came to quick and deceive actions when it came to governing the Galaxy.
With Sean as the Leader of the Legion he had done things differently than the Republic.
For one the Senators had little power when it come to action in the Legion since during the clone wars the senate had been more of a hinderance in the war as they always argued over everything and always asked for more from their troops. Now while still part of the Legion they could only make suggestions during important meetings that were held once a year.
Another thing Sean did was give the Jedi more power than the Republic did which greatly improved their ability to aid the Galaxy. Within each key system temples were built expand their numbers and find more future younglings to add to the Jedi order since having only one major temple was not enough.
Another thing was Sean had taken a page from the former Sith Empire and used the ideas of Governors to maintain control of systems rather than let the Senators have complete control. There were currently two ranks Governor and Grand Governor. The Regulars controlled one or two systems. Grand Governors on the other hand however though controlled larger regions in the Core worlds, Mid Rim and Outer Rim territories and the Unknown regions.
Tarkin was currently the only Grand Governor in charge of the outer rim.
Thrawn however was promoted to Grand Admiral now in charge of most of the Legion fleet.
While Yularen was placed in charge of training special agents to keep the peace in the Legion.
With the Separatist senate now joined with the Legion former enemies put aside their differences seeing how Dooku played and since Sidious would have made slaves of them for their part in the war.
But now the peace was restored.
However Sean and the rest of the Legion continued to search for Dooku and his forces that were brought back from the dead and the rest of his army.
Currently right now Sean was on Earth at the new legion headquarters. (Check out my Deviant Art account Halo956 and look up the picture with the tall glowing building that says legion headquarters)
After the war was over Different planets had different responsibilities to insure the Legion functioned properly.
For Earth it was the military lead faction.
For Alderaan they were in charge of the politics when they needed to be brought up.
Coruscant while still holding an important role was no longer the most important planet anymore since the Republic was torn down.
In Sean's and others views the Legion needed a new start. Hence the reason multiple planets were now key factors in the legion instead of just one like before.
The Labs and Jedi temple remained of course but it was no longer the most important planet in the galaxy like before.
Right now Sean was giving out orders to several systems.
"Our progress on Titan?" Sean asked Thanos.
"As ordered a temple has been constructed for the Jedi. Several children have been found to been force sensitive. All we need are teachers." Thanos said.
"I will have Mace hand pick them. And our progress on Krypton?" Sean asked.
"The core has completely stabilized. And we're finding large pockets of Energon all over the place. Shockwave is sending miners to handle it." Jor-El said.
"Good. For now we continue our plans. We still much work to do before we completely restore order to the highest level. What former Separatists worlds?" Sean asked.
"Still some issues with a few worlds but they are hardly a concern. They still need time to understand we are not the Republic." Shepherd said.
"Not unexpected. Good enough." Sean said ending transmission.
"Even after the war former Separatists still cause trouble." Tarkin said.
"Well, not all are as accepting about this new government since it was made up with Republic worlds and members of their senate. Most left because they were tired of the corruption." Sean said.
"True and Dooku tricked them into war. Still we should be focusing more on finding him and his army before they strike." Tarkin said as they walked the halls.
"I agree but we don't know where they are and it's a vast galaxy out there and we can't just attack unprovoked and start another war I'm not doing that. In time Dooku could realize without the backing of his former allies his efforts are wasted. They will run out of money for food and equipment. Grid can't just make whatever he wants since his factories were destroyed after the war was over. And no one is gonna work with them again since the truth was revealed." Sean said.
"True. Still I'll rest a lot easier knowing they are no longer a threat once we find them." Tarkin said.
"Agreed. Now onto our other operations." Sean said as another hologram of the galaxy appeared.
"So far thanks to the combined effort Cybertron is nearly restored to its former glory. Once we fully restore the planet on the surface we need to find a way to reawaken the core to produce natural energon. The Synthetic formula will be used for our ships." Tarkin said.
"Agreed. And our search for any other Cybertron relics?" Sean asked.
"So far honestly nothing. We still need to find out what those keys are used for." Tarkin said.
"The original primes no doubt are behind this. Perhaps they left something behind and those keys are needed." Sean said.
"Most likely theres one more key. We need to find it." Tarkin said as they walked the halls before they saw the younglings listening to Vulko Arthur's former mentor tell them the story of Atlantis.
"How did Atlantis begin anyway?" Petro asked making him chuckle.
"I'm glad you asked actually. Atlantis was actually named after Atlanta Kruger. The Dragon Elder of Water. Like many members of the Clan her wisdom was respected by all especially Draco during his reign as King of the Clans as one of his advisors. And like many members she had her own students. The very first was Atlan. The first Ruler of Atlantis." Vulko said.
"Sound like a rather unique story." Tarkin said.
"Oh you need to listen to all of it." Sean said.
"When he had mastered all of her teachings he was given a gift. Created from Hephaestus Kruger he created the Trident of Atlantis. The power to command the sea was at his command. And under his leadership he led a great time of peace and prosperity and technological advancement for Atlantis. He had unlocked the secret of unlimited energy when most of the world still thought the Earth was flat." Vulko said.
"Whoa." Katooni said.
"But we became too ambitious, too hungry for power despite Atlanta's warnings. The Trident had destabilized the land and Atlantis sank beneath the waves. But Atlanta did not forsake us. She gave the people the ability to breath underwater to rebuild. And so we evolved. Other parts of the kingdom of Atlantis regressed or became savage like the Trench." Vulko said.
"What about Atlan?" Ganodi asked.
"He lived out the remainder of his days in self-imposed exile. Neither him nor the Trident were seen again until two years before Sean left. He and Arthur found the Trident to stop Arthur's half brother from starting a war with the surface world due to his hunger for power. After that he was never seen again when Arthur became the king when it was revealed he had plotted for years to start a war. Even hiring the Red Scorpions to steal a submarine to attack his own people. In exchange he would give them an army to kill him. But that failed." Vulko said.
"That story never gets old." Sean said making his presence known. "Thats enough history for today. Karai is expecting you all for sword training." Sean said making them moan as they left. "Never imagined you would a history teacher." Sean said making Vulko chuckle.
"To help guide the next generation they must know all history." Vulko said leaving.
"What about Wakanda's history?" Tarkin asked.
"That one doesn't actually involve my clan to be honest. But I can explain that one later." Sean said leaving.
Later
Arriving back in his home Sean smiled seeing Revy, Ahsoka and Sabine on the couch relaxing with larger stomachs showing they were all eight months pregnant.
After the war was finally over they were put on leave due to their condition.
"There you are." Sabine said as he sat down.
"It feels good to be on Earth for a long time after 3 years of war." Sean said.
"I'm just glad the war is finally over so the kids don't have to grow up in that type of stress." Ahsoka said.
"We still need to find Dooku though. Tarkin isn't wrong about finding him. The sooner we do that...The sooner everyone can rest easy since though he may no longer have the Separatist senate he can still cause problems for the Legion." Sean said.
"I'm sure you'll find him soon enough. He can't hide forever." Revy said holding her large stomach making him chuckle.
"One can hope." Sean said.
Next day
As Sean was going over events in the galaxy an alert came up.
"Oh what now?" Sean asked before Price appeared in hologram form.
"We may have a problem. One of our outposts isn't responding and it's due for a report." Price said.
"What outpost?" Sean asked.
"The rebuilt Rishi station. Recently rebuilt to monitor incoming threats again." Price said.
"It is concerning they aren't reporting after what happened during the clone wars." Thrawn said.
"I agree." Tarkin said.
"Same. All right. Get a small team together. We'll find out exactly what happened." Sean said leaving.
Later
A space bridge opened up before Sean, Deadshot, Deathstroke and Blade walked through.
"All right lets..." Sean tried to say before narrowing his eyes.
"What the?" Deadshot said seeing the whole place in flames even the animals were all dead.
"What happened here?" Blade asked as they walked through the outpost.
Thats when Sean looked down seeing a dead clone with a hole in his chest before examining him.
"This was caused by a lightsaber." Sean said.
"So Dooku, Ventress or even Grievous could have done this." Deathstroke said.
"No...This isn't their style. And the impact point is precise not something Ventress does she likes to toy with her victims and Grievous slashes around. Dooku's form doesn't usually have hit marks like this." Sean said.
"What are you thinking? He's trained a new student?" Deadshot asked.
"Thats not it. Something is off. This whole place feels...Dark...Like..." Sean tried to say.
"Like the force is out of balance?"
They looked up seeing Dooku.
"Dooku? I know this isn't your style or Ventress's and Grievous. What did you do?" Sean asked making him chuckle.
"You would agree with me in this saying that the Sith plan out well in Advance. The clone wars were proof enough of that. Had you not discovered our plot. I must admit I was very impressed you knew something was amiss." Dooku said.
"What are you on about? What have you done?" Sean asked.
"Long before the plan to destroy the Jedi and the Republic from the inside out...A project was put into effect that was later abandoned due to the rule of two. A project that has been uncovered after Lockdown saw the flaws of the Rule of two." Dooku said.
"What you brought back the Sith Empire? Theres no way you could have done that in 7 months." Sean said.
"Oh? Then what do you say to this?" Dooku asked as ruble moved before Several Sith warriors came out with Red Lightsabers surprising the group.
"Oh shit this is not good." Deadshot said.
"There was a project that brought back the Sith of Old during the days of the old Republic back to the land of the living. Put into stasis waiting for the perfect moment to strike. But then came the rule of two and these Sith warriors were left behind. Forgotten...Until now." Dooku said grinning.
"Ok...This might be a problem." Blade said as they surrounded them.
"And my powers still haven't returned." Sean said.
"Ok we're leaving." Deadshot said shooting a flashbang at them which blinded them before they ran into a space bridge before it closed.
"Run all you like...A new war is dawning. The New galactic war." Dooku said grinning.
Later
"The Sith Empire has returned?" Kenobi asked in shock.
"Say what you will but the Sith are capable of a lot of things. Just as Sidious told me before revealing himself. The Dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities most would consider unnatural. And he wasn't wrong about that." Sean said.
"So they somehow brought back the most dangerous Sith during the days of the old Republic?" Anakin asked.
"I would assume so. During the old days the Sith and Jedi had more powerful abilities since war was a constant back then. Which sharpened those abilities." Sean said.
"Yes this is true." Qui-Gon said.
"Great. So we end one war and a new one takes its place not even a full year later." Reznov said annoyed.
"We knew there was a chance that Dooku might pull something. Just never expected this. Another Galactic scale war. This time there are no rules since they don't care about neutral systems and what not. Now they don't need finances to pay for what they need. They'll just take it. And who knows how many Sith are back. There could be hundreds or thousands." Sean said.
"I recommend we restart the weapons development program again. I know we all said we would hold that off until things had officially settled down and focus on rebuilding but now we don't have a choice." Tarkin said.
"Agreed. Tell Azmuth to begin at once." Sean said.
"A new shroud of darkness." Kenobi said.
"Ended the clone wars...And now begins the new galactic war. This time however...They won't survive to rebuild." Sean said.
Authors Note: Oh boy. The Sith empire is back and looking for payback. I bet none of you ever saw that coming. If Sidious can come back from the Dead anything is possible at this point in Star Wars. Now Next Chapter will be featuring a fight between the New Empire and the Legion on one of the revitalized worlds that has something powerful the Legion can use. Now I'll be focusing all my attention on my new Legend of Korra Story the Return of an old Legend which is another God of War crossover but with more action than the first one.
