A/N: So this chapter took a lot longer than expected so my apologies for that. With the holidays, having to literally build a new computer, and then google docs deleting the halfway written new chapter things happened. But I hope everyone had a very good holiday season and I wish you all a Happy New Year. Now then, onto the chapter.
CH 17
As Klein went and pulled the car around, Willow decided to try and make at least a little small talk.
"So how was the flight here?" Willow asked the female duo.
"It was okay, we had a bit of turbulence, but thankfully Saph packed her motion sickness meds." Terra said with a small laugh.
"And I'm ever thankful I did, could you imagine the ride without it?" Saphron asked with a laugh as Adrian saw the car coming around the corner and started babbling and pointing.
"Woah." Saphron said as she took in the sight of the luxury vehicle.
"Is that a-?" Terra asked as she pointed to the car.
"Yes, it's the latest model that was just released in the past few months. We have to ensure our own protection after all." Willow said as she began walking away from the doors of city hall and to the pick up area.
After the car pulled up under the awning, Klein got out and took the luggage of Saphron and Terra after they made their way over and proceeded to put it in the trunk of the car. After closing the trunk, he made his way to the rear passenger side door to open it but the Arc-Cottas had already gotten in as had Willow who closed the door behind them.
Seeing this, Klein turned around and made his way to the driver's door before getting in and starting the car. "Off to Beacon we go then." Klein said as he put the car in drive and began driving towards the academy.
After a few minutes into the drive Adrian settled down and began staring out the window at all buildings going by. Seeing this Willow decided now might be the best time to elaborate on her relationship with Jaune, about he was more than simply a bodyguard.
"Ahem," Willow said, clearing her throat as the two women turned away from each other and their small talk they were having to face the Matriarch.
"I believe it is now the opportune time to be a bit more honest with you both now that we are away from any prying eyes and ears as well as recording devices." Willow said in a serious tone.
"Is this about the company position?" Terra asked nervously.
"No Terra it is not, it is about your brother in law." Willow said with a serious face to ensure the duo she was not joking around.
"If you're interested in Jaune he's single as far as I know. He's never been good with the ladies but you might want to take off the wedding ring from your previous marriage. That might make things a little awkward." Saphron said, thinking that Willow had indeed fallen for her brother after he saved her from the white fang.
Hearing this Willow began laughing but it was soft enough where it went unnoticed by Saphron who continued.
"Or maybe if you're trying to reward him, set him up on a date with one of your daughters. I hear they are very beautiful after all, and Jaune isn't the type to accept just a chunk of lien so if you go that route you'll have to push it on him." Saphron said matter of factly.
Hearing her finish up Willow couldn't help but begin laughing out loud at the comments of her sister in law, which only served to confuse Saphron.
"Oh my dear I think you got it all wrong, well, not all wrong but mostly wrong." Willow said as she calmed down from laughing.
"To start off, this ring I currently wear isn't from my old marriage, not in the slightest." Willow said with a smirk, leaving Saphron just as confused as she was from the laughter.
"Here." Willow said simply as she took off the ring and leaned towards the blonde woman before handing over the wedding ring.
"Uh, it's a very pretty ring. What am I doing with it exactly?" Saphron asked.
"Look closer at it dear, perhaps inside the band of the ring itself might be able to give you the answer you're trying to figure out, hmm?" Willow said in response.
Saphron nodded before bringing the ring closer to her eyes to inspect it further and after a few looks appeared to do a double take before her eyes widened. "B-b-b-but that's not possible." Saphron stammered as her eyes darted between the ring in her hand and Willow, who just smiled and nodded in response.
Seeing Willow's genuine response to her noticing the detail, Saphron slumped back into her seat as she proceeded to faint.
Seeing her wife faint Terra checked up on Saphron to make sure it was nothing serious other than shock of whatever it was she saw on the ring.
Confirming her suspicions that Saphron fainted due to the shock of what was on the ring, she tried to open her wife's hand to inspect the ring herself. After a few tries she managed to get Saphron's hand open and took the wedding ring from her palm.
Terra looked at it closely and the very first thing she noticed was the big diamond on the wedding ring. Terra assumed it was probably around a 5 carat size. The clarity and cut of the diamond seemed to be something that would make most celebrities jealous.
The gold ring it was attached to was also astonishingly beautiful and more than likely solid 24k gold. However the thing that really caught Terra's eye upon further inspection was the blue inlays around the ring.
While looking at these inlays she caught a glimpse of what appeared to be writing inside the band. Looking up from the ring to Willow confirmed as such as the Matriarch mentioned her to look at the writing inside the ring.
Nodding her head, Terra brought the ring up to where her eyes could see inside the band. What she saw made her understand exactly why her wife fainted, because there in the inside of the band was the letters W.A-S engraved inside the band of the ring in small cursive font.
Nervously looking up, she handed the ring back over to the white haired woman, as she tried to ask the question now burning on the tip of her tongue.
"So the W. A-S is for you right?" Terra asked and seeing Willow nod her head she continued. "Then if what you seem to be implying is correct, then the A there would mean Arc?" Terra half stated half asked, to which Willow simply smiled.
"So Jaune isn't your bodyguard but your husband? How? When?" A very confused Terra asked.
"Well maybe if you help your son wake up your wife I can explain it to both of you at the same time." Willow said as she gestured to the young boy poking Saphron's cheek.
Terra turned and saw the sight before letting out a sigh and saying "Adrian, please stop that."
To which the toddler in question just giggled and resumed poking Saphron before Terra eventually reached over and gently slapped the toddler's hand away. This caused Adrian to begin pouting in the seat on Saphron's other side as Terra tried to wake up her wife.
"Ugh, I, what happened?" Saphron asked as she regained consciousness. "Last thing I remember I was looking at the-" Saphron said before pausing and facing Willow. "THE WEDDING RING!"
"Yes yes, it's such a shock. Now calm down dear and let me explain." Willow said as she pulled out a can of Schneecola from the little console fridge in the back seat before offering one to the three others as well as some spring water if the fizzy drink was not what they wanted.
After everyone who wanted a drink got one, she began telling a brief version of the story of how she met Jaune and well one thing led to another.
"You know, usually when two people are drunk and one thing leads to another it's a one night stand, not becoming married." Saphron stated.
"Yes, well would you like to hear the story of how that came about then?" Willow asked.
"I thought you were drunk when this all happened. How do you remember?" Terra asked in response to Willow's question.
"Well I may have been drunk but the security cameras weren't. I contacted the owner of the establishment and asked for a copy of the videos from that night, and he obliged."
"Don't you need to be law enforcement with a warrant usually to access that?" Saphron chimed in.
"Well all I really wanted was any video pertaining to me and Jaune so it wasn't that big of an issue. Also when the world's most powerful woman calls and threatens legal action people usually 'ask how high do I jump?' So naturally he gave me a copy of the videos."
"Did you also threaten him not to leak the video to the press with that legal action?" Terra asked.
"I thought that was kind of obvious from what I just said but yes, that was included. I didn't and still don't want mine or Jaune's reputation to get ruined.
"Well how did it all happen then?" Saphron asked, eager to know the absolute fool of himself a drunk Jaune would make.
"I hate to interrupt you ladies but our flight is here so if we want to get on board we must exit the vehicle and board the bullhead." Klein said as everyone noticed the car had stopped moving.
Upon looking out the window the four rear passengers confirmed what the butler said as they saw a bullhead waiting for them.
"So it is, well thankfully we got a private bullhead for us. Klein see that the luggage of the family is taken back to the hotel we've reserved for them, whilst we are at Beacon. I'll call for you when we return, and in the meantime take a rest and relax." Willow said as she got out of the car.
Terra, Saphron, and Adrian followed behind as the four of them made their way to the bullhead. After greeting the pilot and fastening their seat belts, the bullhead took off, beginning its flight to Beacon.
"Well, I guess now is the time for full explanations then." Willow said as the trio seated across from her shifted their attention back to the matriarch and away from the disappearing ground below.
"Well it all started when I went to inform my daughter of Jacques' passing. She got upset that I was there and yelled at me before slamming the door in my face." Willow said as she began recounting the encounter.
"Oh my." Saphron said with a gasp. "If any of us would've done that to our mom growing up we'd be unable to sit for a week." Saphron finished with a little laugh.
"Yes well I wasn't always the best role model for my children and that's putting it lightly. Anyways after that encounter I went to a bar and almost got barreled over by a dark haired man in green clothes as he ran out the door. After making my way inside the bar, I sat down next to a rather handsome young man who had just requested something stronger from the bartender." Willow said as she looked towards the two women across from her and their acknowledgement that they were still paying attention.
"After that I asked him if he had a rough day too, and then he comforted me as I told him about my recent events. We kept drinking throughout the night as we talked and later woke up in bed together back at my hotel." Willow said as she summed up the rest of the night.
"That sounds like a basic night on the town after a bad day. How did you wind up being well married? That's kind of a big step from one night stand." Terra asked.
"Well, we didn't really know until the videos like I said and well, I think it's best that you look at the video yourself." Willow said as she handed the couple a scroll with a video pulled up.
Looking at each other the couple reached and took the scroll before pressing the play button. As the video began playing they saw Willow taking a seat near Jaune and then some conversation just like Willow had mentioned.
After some words were spoken they saw Jaune get up and hug Willow who looked like she leaned into the hug and began crying from the crying like motion and the patting of her back from Jaune.
After that they saw the bartender approach with two drinks as they both sat back down and appeared to start talking again. After a few fast forwards Terra and Saphron saw the bartender bring 2 more rounds before Willow and Jaune started to get a little more physical with each other.
Nothing major, just small things like Willow leaning her head on Jaune's shoulder, holding a hand before Willow was seen whispering something into Jaune's ear. Terra saw this and rewound the video a few seconds to try to see if she could read Willow's lip.
Squinting her eyes Terra was able to somewhat make out what was said as the camera angle was from the outside of the bar area, and thus faced the bar and the barkeeper.
"I think she said something like "I wish this happiness I'm feeling could be permanent." or something similar. That must've been what got Jaune." Terra thought as she watched those few seconds.
Indeed in the next few seconds Terra was proven right as Jaune proceeded to say something with a hand over his chest and the other hand raised as Willow's hands flew to her face in a gasp motion.
"There it is." Terra thought as she then saw Willow appear to ask something and Jaune answered by nodding his head. The couple then saw Willow reach into her purse and pull out enough lien to cover the drinks and hefty tip before Willow grabbed Jaune's hand and appeared to lead him out of the bar. Both of them grinning like a loon as the video came to an end.
"Well that answers what happened at the bar but what happened afterwards that led to marriage?" Saphron asked as she handed the scroll back to Willow.
"Well I'm not 100% sure because I never really looked into it as I realized that Jaune and I got married and well because it was a marriage vows were said. Therefore his word was given, and the rest is history. Well I guess I should say it is up until now." Willow said with a smile.
"Anyway, your parents know of our union as do the rest of my family. In fact I might be able to say with certainty that if it wasn't for Jaune my family would be a lot more fractured than it is now, but that is a story for another time because I believe I can see Beacon through the window." Willow said as she gestured to the world outside their bullhead, as it came in for a landing.
After the bullhead had landed and the pilot had informed them they were all clear for disembarkment Willow turned to the mother duo and child.
"I'm going to get some answers from Ozpin on what happened to Jaune, at dust-point if needed, you three go on and visit him in the ICU. Don't wait on my account, I'll see him shortly after I'm done with Ozpin." Willow said before turning and making her way to the large tower that housed the headmasters office.
"Well let's go see uncle Jaune, Adrian." Saphron said as she held the giggling toddler.
A short walk later the trio arrived at the ICU to find Tsune talking to a short ginger girl, THE Pyrrha Nikos, and a dark haired man in green who looked strikingly familiar.
As the trio got closer, Terra decided to speak up and asked "Um, excuse me. Do you all know where we can find Jaune Arc's bay?"
"You're here to visit fearless leader?" The short ginger asked as she turned around and saw the trio standing there.
"You must be one of Jaune's relatives, right." The man in green asked.
"Yes, that's correct. I'm Saphron Cotta-Arc, his eldest sister, and this is my wife, Terra Cotta-Arc, and our son Adrian." Saphron said as she gestured to herself, Terra, and then Adrian.
"It's nice to meet you three. I'm Pyrrha Nikos, Jaune's partner, and these are our two teammates, Nora and her partner Ren." Pyrrha said as she gestured to her teammates.
"Jaune has THE Pyrrha Nikos as his partner and he didn't tell me. Pft rude." Saphron jokingly said as Adrian tried to mimic him but ended up just blowing a raspberry instead.
"Aww." Nora said as she moved to fawn over the toddler who proceeded to giggle at her antics.
Adrian held out his hand towards Nora like he wanted to be held as Nora looked for approval from Saphron before she nodded and handed the child to Nora who took Adrian and then started running around while making engine noises as Adrian happily giggled.
Terra kept a watchful eye on the ginger as she stood near Ren while Pyrrha and Saphron talked.
"So you're Jaune's eldest sister?" Pyrrha asked the blonde woman.
"The one and only. Has he mentioned me before?" Saphron responded.
"A few times." Pyrrha answered with a laugh.
"All the best right?" Saphron asked.
"Oh totally." Pyrrha said with an over exaggerated eye roll as Saphron fake gasped causing Pyrrha to laugh. "He's said good things about you all for the most part." Pyrrrha answered honestly.
"For the most part. We were great sisters." Saphron said with a mock pout.
"Didn't you all dress him up and put makeup on him?" Pyrrha asked with a laugh.
"Yeah, yeah we did." Saphron said as she smiled, recalling the memories.
"Anyway, seeing Jaune in his bay was mentioned, yeah? We'll take you to him." Pyrrha said as she started leading her teammates and the Arc-Cottas down the hall as she explained Jaune's state to Saphron.
"Tsune, our medical department head, said that Jaune should be awake sometime tomorrow if not today. He should also be up and moving around in three days max. He'll probably be cleared to return to training next week sometime." Pyrrha said before the group came to a halt in front of the door.
"This is his room, although Tsune did say to be quietish, so not overly loud as he is technically asleep and we don't want to wake him up before he is recovered." Pyrrha said as Ren decided to input his thoughts.
"Tsune said in more overly complex medical terms, and it was more than likely said to keep Nora quieter than usual, but we should heed her words just in case." Ren said as he motioned towards the door, and for them to enter the room.
The group entered and saw Jaune lying in a hospital bed with an IV going to his arm as he lay there almost in a peaceful slumber-like state.
"Oh Jaune." Saphron said as she took a seat by the bed and the rest of the group moved to do the same as Nora took a seat on Ren's lap as there weren't enough chairs.
"So are those two?" Terra asked Pyrrha who had taken a seat near her.
"Yes they are together-together, as Nora would say. It seems they have Jaune to thank for it too as he gave Ren the push he needed to finally ask Nora." Pyrrha answered.
"You guys got here pretty fast. Jaune's accident was just this morning after all. Do you all live in Vale?" Ren asked.
"No we live in Argus but Terra had a job interview here with the SDC about a new job opening so we flew here for that as well as to see my brother."
"Did you guys get to meet Mama Schnee?" Nora asked.
"Nora, don't be ridiculous. The CEO of a company rarely does something like a job interview, they often have stuff like meetings and press conferences to attend." Ren said to the ginger currently seated on his lap.
"Actually," Terra said as she cut into the conversation, "Willow was the one who interviewed me and she was kind enough to give us a ride here."
"Did she tell you two about Jaune's marriage with her?" Nora said excitedly.
"Nora, I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be a secret." Pyrrha said with a groan as she hoped her teammate didn't just out her partner's secret for now marriage.
"She did, don't worry." Saphron said with a small laugh.
"So where is she then, if she gave you three a ride here?" Pyrrha asked.
"She's having words with Ozpin if what she said is holding true." Terra said.
"Ah, I wouldn't want to be in that room right now." Pyrrha replied.
"Are you kidding? I'd love to be a fly on that wall as I watch the clash of giants between the Headmaster of Beacon and the CEO of basically all the dust on Remnant." Nora said.
"I wouldn't want to be up there either. It's probably going to be a lot of conversation stuff. I'm sure it's not gonna be that bad." Ren said he looked over to Saphron and Terra. "Right?"
Saphron and Terra just glanced at each other nervously before looking back to Ren as Ren saw through the window behind them, a familiar looking office chair landed out in the courtyard outside.
"Ok, Nora I take back my answer. I'd love to be up there listening in." Ren said.
"Please Willow, calm down." Ironwood said as he tried to mediate between Willow and Ozpin.
"Shut it tin man or you're going next." Willow chirped back.
This caused a hearty laugh from the man in the corner.
"Don't encourage her Qrow." Ironwood groaned.
"Now Willow, if you can please calm down-" Ozpin tried to say before being cut off.
"Ozpin, my HUSBAND is apparently in critical condition in the ICU right now and not only did you not see fit to tell me he was there, you are unwilling to disclose anything about the incident to me other than 'it was a training accident.' " Willow said as she added finger quotes around the training accident phrase. "So I feel like I have a right to be angry. Now tell me to calm down and take a seat again and you'll find out where the next one is going."
"I've told you Willow it was a training accident. That was all it was." A nervous Ozpin tried explaining again without giving away any details.
"Ozpin," Willow said with a sigh as she looked the headmaster dead in the eyes, "If you tell me one more time that it was just a training accident I will unleash the full might of the SDC lawyers on you like a pack of hungry dogs on a freshly grilled steak." Willow said with fire in her eyes and a look that said try me.
"Well the matter is um, still being investigated on how the accident occurred so we'll need to fill a report out before we can tell you?" Ozpin half asked half stated.
"Fine then just show me the video of the accident then." Willow said with a sigh, before seeing Ozpin and Ironwood side glance at each other nervously.
"Oh for the love of." Willow said as she brought her hand down on her face with an audible groan, causing both headmasters to stiffen. "Fine, I'm going to check on Jaune and if I have no report, no explanation, no video, no nothing presented to me soon this will not end pretty for either of you." Willow said as she turned and stalked off.
"Well that went as well as I probably should've expected." Ozpin said as he turned to face Ironwood after the elevator doors closed.
"Ozpin, she threw a chair through and out the window." Ironwood said as he faced his friend. "Nothing about that was a good meeting."
"Ah but James," Ozpin said before taking a sip from his mug, "I said as well as I should have expected. Besides those were chairs of the highest Vacouaun quality. It's probably fine."
"So what the heck actually did happen to the kid? Ruby has been up in my grill ever since she found out. Asking hundreds of questions and I have no answers for her, her teammates, or the kids' teammates." Qrow said as he brought his feet down and stood up on the other side of the room.
"We had Mr. Arc-Schnee, formerly known as Mr. Arc, use his aura boosting semblance to try and boost Amber's aura and start the healing process on her." General Ironwood said as he faced the oddly seemingly sober man.
"So guessing by the way he's laid up in the ICU it didn't work then, did it?" Qrow asked.
"Unfortunately it did not." Ironwood said as he took a seat in one of the remaining office chairs.
"Mr. Arc-Schnee was propelled backwards and we quickly resealed the tube Amber was in so we could quickly take him to the med bay to get treated. We had thought Amber would be fine in the tube as she was before, however it appears that assumption was also incorrect." Ozpin said he put his face in his hands.
"Oh shit." Qrow said, before a lightbulb went off in his head and he grew even paler as he asked the next question. "Then, don't tell me. The maiden's power?"
"While we were in the med bay with Mr. Arc-Schnee another student came in, being basically carried by her team. Her leader reported she had suddenly gotten dizzy and fainted. She noted also that as she knelt down to check on her, the students' eyes seemed to glow. However Ms. Adel noted that they were right below the light so that might've been it but she fears it was a case of Ms. Scarlatina's semblance acting up as the light didn't seem strong enough to cause that effect." Ozpin said as he reached for a thermos on his desk to refill his mug.
"So it didn't go to the attacker then. That's good, right?" Qrow replied.
"Ultimately yes, it is good and it shows Mr. Arc-Schnee's semblance did have some effect on Amber as the power went to a student he had talked to in the hallway right before he came to assist us. They were apparently talking about doing a study session together so that Ms. Scarlatina could help him with an upcoming test. We theorize that might've been what he thought of last before passing out, or something on those lines." Ironwood inputted.
"Ok Amber is now dead dead, the power has been passed onto a Beacon student who passed out from the sudden rush of power and is currently in the med bay. Meanwhile the other Beacon student involved in this is also in the med bay unconscious and we have no real clear answer for those who are asking questions. Did I get that right?" Qrow asked.
"Unfortunately, Qrow you got it all correct." Ozpin said as he took a long sip from his mug.
"Then why don't we just tell Willow 'the truth'?" Qrow asked as he put the truth in finger quotes before elaborating further. "We had an injured person and Jaune was asked to use his semblance to try and save her. It failed to work and the aura backfire shot him back and knocked him unconscious from the collision with the wall."
"You think she'll buy that Oz?" Ironwood said as he turned to face his fellow headmaster after hearing Qrow's explanation.
"I think it's the only thing we have to go on." Ozpin said with a sigh before speaking again. "Regardless of if she accepts it or not Mr. Arc-Schnee should awaken sometime soon thanks to his large aura reserves. So Qrow, I want you standing guard in the med bay and watching both him and Ms. Scarlatina. I don't see anything going wrong but we can never be too safe."
"Understood, I'll go get to it in a bit once his friends, family, and the Mrs. clear out." Qrow said as he walked to the hole in the window and jumped out before turning into a bird and flying to the tree outside the med bay windows.
Meanwhile in the med bay as the headmasters and Qrow were finishing their discussion Willow walked into Jaune's room to find Saphron, Terra, and Adrian along with her daughter and her team and the rest of Jaune's team.
"You're back, but I take it you didn't get any answers?" Saphron asked.
"Unfortunately no, I did not. Although I must say I am a little surprised, but pleased to find this room this crowded." Willow said as she looked at those around the room, lingering a bit longer on a certain redhead, and her own daughter, both of whom didn't return her gaze.
As everyone was distracted by Willow's entrance, Adrian took the opportunity to get closer to Jaune and quickly got up on Jaune's bed before laying down next to him.
"Adrian you can't do that. Uncle Jaune needs his rest right now." Saphron said to which the toddler yawned and laid his head down next to Jaune's before closing his eyes and beginning to doze off.
"If he's not hurting anything I don't see the issue of letting him stay up there for a bit." Yang said as she stared at the adorable toddler snuggling up next to Jaune.
"Aw those two look adorable together." Ruby said as she quickly snapped a photo of the scene before her on her scroll before offering to send it to both Saphron and Terra.
"Hey, is it just me or do those two look related?" Blake asked the rest of the group.
"You know, now that you mention it, they do look strikingly similar." Weiss said as her eyes glanced between the two.
"Well duh, they're related. They're family after all." Nora said as she stated the obvious.
"Actually those two are a bit closer than just family, and Adrian has always acted like it. Maybe that's just a child's instinct though. They always seem to have that natural find the parental instinct." Saphron said with a laugh causing everyone in the room besides Willow and Terra to go wide eyed.
"Wait, hold up." The blonde brawler said, "Vomit boy is actually a father? So would that mean he's actually Vomit man?" She asked with a grin.
"Well yes but no." Terra answered. "Jaune technically is the father but we chose the artificial path for Adrian."
"Vomit boy it is then," Yang said with a grin before she looked past the Cotta-Arcs to Willow, "Or is it?" Yang asked with a raised eyebrow.
Willow simply made the motion of zipping her lips and throwing away the key, causing Yang to laugh and Weiss to pale, which made Yang laugh even harder.
*knock knock* The sound from the other side of the door as everyone turned to look at the door.
"I hate to interrupt, but visiting hours will be closing shortly so please wrap it up and you all can come back tomorrow to see Jaune again." Tsune said as she poked her head inside before going out just as quickly after having said her message.
And so after a few more minutes everyone said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Team RWBY and (J)NPR went back to their dorm rooms. As the group was walking Pyrrha walked up beside Weiss and began to ask a few questions.
"Hey Weiss, when is your sister usually free?"
"Well she's usually free-" Weiss began before stopping mid sentence and turning to Pyrrha, "Uh Pyrrha, why do you want to know when my sister is usually free?" Weiss asked.
"Well I talked to her a bit and it kind of helped with the situation I was dealing with so I wanted to go to her for advice again, but I didn't want to call or message her during a busy time." Pyrrha explained.
"Oh. Well if you are concerned about that she's usually free later at night so just send her a message and she might respond tonight." Weiss answered.
"Really? Great, thanks for the help Weiss." Pyrrha said as the group arrived at their dorms and the two teams said their good nights to each other and went their separate ways.
After getting into their dorm, Pyrrha pulled out her scroll and sent Winter a text asking if she was free again to meet up and help her with some more advice, before she set the scroll down on the bedside table and got into bed for the night.
Meanwhile Willow was walking with the Cotta-Arcs back to the bullhead and messaged Klein of their soon to be returning to the city of Vale.
As she was doing this her scroll pinged as she saw a message had arrived from Ozpin with details explaining the "accident'" and made a note to read it over later.
Hours passed as the evening turned into night as a lone figure walked the halls of the infirmary area making sure everything was clear before deciding that was enough for right now and decided and pop into Jaune's room to check on the kid again.
Qrow opened the door to see Jaune still laying in the same position with the constant beep of the monitor, the only noise around.
Quietly walking over to the bed, he pulled out a seat and sat down as he stared at the kid laying there.
"You're worrying my nieces and your friends a bunch a kid. I know Ozpin said you got massive aura reserves but man I hope you wake up soon. It hasn't even been a day yet and Ruby is already wearing me down about you and more answers." Qrow said to no one in particular as he pulled his flask from his side and took a big drink from it.
As he was mid drink though he thought he saw Jaune's hand twitch, causing him to get distracted and some of the flask's contents to go down the wrong pipe.
After a coughing fit, Qrow put the flask away and leaned in closer towards the blond knight, and as Jaune shot up in his bed wide awake and shouted "I saw them!" Qrow would forever deny the scream in the middle of the night heard throughout the med bay and even on cameras was him.

His power bouncing back was what actually sent him into the wall. What he saw was merely flashes of images of what happened throughout Amber's life as he poured his Aura into her before it was rejected.
