Took a bit again, but after another scare with my left arm (some burn spur or similar snagging the tendon), I followed the doctor's instruction to keep it slow.

Still, enjoy :)

"That's enough." Sie ordered, but the man just threw another punch. "Scars, I said that's enough!"

"Let me try again, boss." the man known as Scars said as Alfred spat out another blob of blood and saliva and wound up his arm to hit Alfred again.

"If you hit him again, I will add another scar to your face." Sie threatened. "Stop."

"Boss, this old codger killed four of our men!" Scars argued.

"I'm well aware of that!" Sie spat. "But it should be evident now even to you that he won't talk. He's too well trained for that."

"Then what are we doing here?" Scars asked.

"Waiting for my special brew to finish cooking." Sie chuckled. "Once he has that in him, there's no way he won't talk."

"Is that why you haven't called our employer yet?" the other man in the room asked.

"Yes." Sie nodded. "I want to ask Alfred Hofstadter a few questions of my own."

"I have nothing to say to you." Alfred mumbled through his bloody teeth.

"Oh, you will have plenty to say to me." Sie hissed after getting up. "You worked with my father. There are a few questions about him that you need to answer."

"Uh, BOSS?" a shout came from downstairs.

"What is it, Henry?" Sie asked after getting up and walking outside the room to the stairs.

"I think there's something wrong with your brew." Henry pointed to the kitchen. "Is it supposed to turn green?"

"Shit, shit, shit!" Sie cursed and ran into the kitchen, seeing her concoction bubble over the rim of the pot. "SCHEIßE!"

"That was shit in German, wasn't it?" Henry chuckled.

"No time for jokes, asshole." Sie yelled. "What happened?"

"Don't ask me, I just noticed the color when I came back from my smoke with Rupert."

"He didn't!" Sie gasped and took a small sieve before pouring the liquid through it until a small blob remained in the sieve. "RUPERT!"

"What?" came the reply from the man in question when he came inside but his inquiry ended in a howl of pain after Sie's fist connected with his nose. "OW! What was that for?"

"This!" she pointed at the sieve and threw it at him. "You fucking bastard smoked in here and dropped your fucking ash into the fucking pot!"

"I'm thorry, alright?" Rupert raised his left hand in a gesture of apology while pressing a tissue against his bleeding nose. "It wath an accthident."

"This stuff needs to remain pure." Sie hissed at him. "No foreign matter can go in there, otherwise it's ruined."

"Then why not jutht put a lid on the pot?" Rupert asked again.

"Because it needs to breath." Sie told him. "Why am I explaining myself to you? YOU DO NOT SMOKE OR DO ANYTHING NEXT TO THIS POT, IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?"

"Yes, boss." Rupert nodded and headed out.

"That goes for everyone else." Sie spoke into her radio. "The kitchen is off limits from now on. Nobody goes inside, except for me. Is that understood?"

"Sure boss." Henry nodded and left the room as more confirmations came over the radio.

"Fuck!" Sie cursed again and grabbed her bag, producing the ingredients for the brew again.

"Wake up." Leonard gently shook her awake.

"How long?" Penny asked, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"Twenty minutes." Leonard said and walked into the cockpit, where he sat down into the pilot's seat and put the headphones on.

"Aren't you required to wear these all the time?" Penny asked, pointing to the headphones after having put her set on and sitting down in the co-pilot seat.

"I used these." he showed her an air pod. "It's connected to the communication system, so if I got a call from a tower during the flight, I'd hear it."

"Okay." she nodded. "Do you think Alfred is still..."

"Alive?" he looked at her. "I don't know. The attackers haven't left yet, though."

"How do you know that?" she wondered.

"Look." he held a tablet out to her, which showed surveillance footage from Alfred's house.

"How do you see this?"

"I have access to his security feeds." he shrugged. "The hallways and outside. The only thing I can't see is the rooms and given how they keep going into his office, I'd guess that my dad is held in there."

"Do you know who the attackers are?" she asked, seeing them walk around with their guns and rudimentary body armor.

"Yes." he nodded. "And it's bad."

"How so?"

"You see her?" Leonard pointed to the tablet and rewound the footage to a point where a woman is running out of the office.

"Who is she?"

"I don't know her real name, though her call sign is Sie, which is German for she." he explained. "She is the leader, at least officially, of the VCI, the Veteran Combat Initiative."

"Mercenaries?"

"The best." he nodded. "The VCI is the best mercenary company in the world. All former soldiers, they are good at what they do, loyal to their employer and they always finish their missions successfully."

"Then how will we deal with them?" she was worried.

"Our first and foremost goal is to save my dad." he said. "And we'll kill anyone that stands in our way."

After they flew the remaining distance to their destination, Leonard talked to the tower and landed the plane, driving it into his rented hangar. His SUV was still standing there, ever since they had lifted off after her training had finished. It gave her a good and bad feeling, one the one hand, it was like coming home, on the other, it was for a bad reason as well as having to leave their friends in California.

Apparently someone had been tasked with keeping the SUV clean because it looked pristine. After letting the dogs jump into the back, Leonard got into the driver's seat, while Penny joined him on the passenger's seat. The car started without any problem and Leonard drove it away from the small airport.

They drove in silence, the only sounds coming from the car itself and the panting of the dogs. They seemed to be recognizing the anxiety of their masters, both tense and ready to fight. She wondered if Leonard would bring the dogs, knowing that their enemy was armed veterans who would most likely outright kill them. She couldn't fathom waking up the next day without these two greeting them.

To her surprise, Leonard took a detour, but upon further thinking about it, she saw the sense in it. Under normal circumstances, his route home would taking him past his dad's property, Leonard's being directly at the lake. He drove to the west of the town and then went north, driving towards the public areas of the lake shore before heading northeast along a rough dirt path.

"Do you think they're watching your house?" she asked, holding on to the handle bar above the window to avoid her body from flinging left and right from driving over the uneven ground.

"It's possible if they know that dad's neighbor is his son." he shrugged, also gripping the wheel hard.

The dogs weren't as fortunate, both animals rolling and sliding left and right in the back, occasionally giving out a whine when one smacked into the other. Penny tried to reach them from between the seats to comfort them but was unable to. It took almost thirty minutes but in the end, they reached the western limit of Leonard's property.

"No fence and gate?" she wondered when he drove along the beach, a private property sign the only thing denoting that this wasn't public land anymore.

"No, I allow people to use the beaches along the lake." he told her. "The condition is that they have to clean up their garbage and so far, it worked."

"Really, nobody is leaving their crap there sometimes?" she was incredulous, remembering the kid on the bicycle that Leonard had made crash after the kid had dropped garbage in Leonard's forest.

"Sure they do." he chuckled. "But you won't believe what people are willing to do to keep this beach accessible."

"What?" she wondered.

"Oh, during bathing season, some people come here every three days and pick up garbage that wasn't dropped into any of the bins I had installed."

"You're kidding." she gasped as Leonard pulled up to his house. "Unreal."

He used a remote to open the garage gate and drove inside, the gate closing behind him. When it was almost down, the lights turned on and he opened the door to get out, quickly opening the back to let the dogs out, both canines shaking the stiffness away.

"So, how do we do this?" she asked.

"Put on one of your bodygloves." he told her as he led her inside the house proper and up to his office.

"Sweetie, they're in Pasadena." she pointed out. "We left kinda in a hurry."

"Right." he nodded and opened his closet, grabbing something and throwing it onto the couch. "Wear this."

"What is it?" she asked, unfolding the items which turned out to be pants and a jacket that looked like a bodyglove. "I see."

Leonard quickly undressed and exchanged his boxers with a tighter pair before slipping into one of his bodygloves. Penny copied him, taking off her pants and sweater and putting on the leather pants and jacket over her shirt. It was tight but not uncomfortably so but couldn't compare to the real bodybloves she had gotten made.

"So, what now?" she wanted to know, after they both finished dressing.

"Now, we're going over." he replied and walked out of the room, Penny following him.

He walked into the hallway connecting the living room and opened the cellar door. He clicked on the light and both walked downstairs, ending up in what looked like a regular basement, with a small window and a door that led outside. She had expected his basement to be like his dad's, but her bafflement was answered when he pulled away a tarp from a shelf and pushed said shelf to the side.

A quick push into the wall made a piece come out, revealing a number pad. He pressed his thumb against the reader, which activated the numbers, into which he typed a long code. The door opened smoothly and walking into the appearing room was like walking from a youth hostel into a five star hotel. The room's lights turned on, showing white, clean walls with shelves full of weapons on every wall and in the middle of the room.

"That's what I was imagining." she chuckled.

Leonard unlocked a few of the shelf covers, allowing her to choose any gun she wanted. She decided on two small models with already attached silencers, as well as a few knifes. Leonard chose the same and put them into his bodyglove, the items disappearing inside the rubber-like material.

"Are you ready?" he asked after finishing.

"Ready as I'll ever be." she nodded. "It would help if it was night."

"I know." he agreed.

"How do we get over there without them noticing?" she wanted to know.

"We climb." he replied and went to the east wall, where he turned a wheel, which opened what looked like a storm drain door.

"What?" she was confused as he handed her a device that looked like a transparent face mask similar to the one what she had seen in the Avatar movie she had watched with their friends, except with two small cylinders on the side and lights at the top. "What's that?"

"It's a rebreather." he told her. "The two cylinders are bottles, one with oxygen, the other with a calcium filter to clean the CO2 you breath out."

"Okay." she nodded and put it on. "Do I need to turn it on?"

"Small switch on the chin." he nodded, putting his own on and switching it on. "Switch on the top turns on the lights."

Still wondering what he meant with climbing, she followed him into storm drain. It led downwards, almost like walking into a subbasement until they reached a water canal with a drain at the base of the stairs. The canal went deeper and with the lights on her face mask, she could see that a few feet ahead, the roof also slanted, causing the canal to be completely full.

The lights also showed her what looked like handholds at the bottom of the canal, as if someone had build a canal around a ladder. Leonard knelt down and dove headfirst into the water, using the handholds to pull himself forward. She copied his action and also went into the canal, pulling herself forward by the handholds.

To her surprise, Leonard was already far ahead and she wondered how he could reach that speed. After a minute, his light stopped until she caught up with him and he turned his head and pointed to the rungs and himself before using one two-handed to propel himself forward quickly, essentially jumping over half a dozen handholds before the water resistance stopped his forward momentum.

Copying what he did, Penny pulled and sped forwards right after him. She had to admit, it was a lot faster than a simple climb would have been and they ate up the miles between his basement and Alfred's house. Twice during their swim, they passed under sources of daylight and at the second, Penny realized that it was the wells. She knew about the well on Alfred's property, having run past it dozens of times during her training but had never seen the one on Leonard's property, since the time she had spend there had mostly consisted of cuddling on the couch or having sex in various rooms inside the house.

Overcoming the distance like this still took over an hour, since there was six miles between the two houses. Her arms burned for the last mile and her body was cold, the water close to the temperature of the outside air, though the leather material helped insulating her a bit. She hoped that it wouldn't impede her actions when they engaged the mercenaries.

She was so engrossed in just putting her arms forward, grabbing a rung and propelling herself forward that she didn't realize Leonard had stopped. She smacked into his feet, almost making the mask slip from her face. Leonard pulled his legs and and pushed his hand down, pulling her up after she grabbed it.

He pushed up and his head disappeared, making Penny aware of an open space above her. She stood up as well, bumping her head against the ceiling of the low tunnel and making her curse. Leonard gave her a silent rebuke with his hand and manipulated a lever, unlocking a similar storm drain door like the one in his house.

He turned off the lights, and Penny copied them, then they exited the tunnel into the dark space of Alfred's gun range, Leonard crouching down and looking around. No gunfire erupted, no lights were on and no noise except for the dripping of the water was heard and after several seconds, Leonard stood up and turned on a light, bathing the room in a soft glow that was a lot less than she remembered.

Looking up, she saw a few soft lights on, the others still off. Leonard went to a cabinet and pulled out two towels, handing her one and drying himself off. Penny shivered from being submerged in such cold water and after drying herself off, she did a few jumps to get the blood pumping and her body warmed up.

Somehow, Leonard didn't show any discomfort and began checking the weapon racks. She wondered what he was looking for and her eyes followed him until he knelt down at a small safe between two cabinets. He apparently knew the combination, pressing his thumb against the reader to activate the keypad and typing in a long string of numbers until the lock clicked and the door swung open.

With a smile, he produced two weird looking guns and several cylinders. She looked at the two guns, both having a strange barrel, the diameter looking way too small for any bullet she knew. He pushed one of the cylinders between two clamps and pressed both against the cylinder before pulling the rack back. She heard a click and he pulled the trigger, the gun firing with the noise of a cough and she saw what looked like a knitting needle impact against one of the pillars holding up the ceiling.

"What's that?" she whispered, as Leonard loaded the second gun, also shooting it successfully.

"Those are needlers." he whispered back. "I had hoped that dad kept them in working conditions."

"Are they better than guns?"

"In a direct comparison, no." he shook his head. "They have no stopping power and their penetrative strength is almost zero. Any form of body armor stops these, even our bodygloves."

"Then why take them?" she wanted to know.

"They're almost completely silent." he told her. "And, the needles can be, uh, improved."

"How?" she squinted her eyes.

Instead of answering, he knelt back down and produced a small bottle from the safe. He cautiously opened it and peeked inside, tilting it as if to see the levels of a liquid. He took three deep breaths before holding the bottle under his nose and very gently breathing in, making a pained face before forcefully blowing the air out of his nose and taking more deep breaths with the bottle at arms length.

"What's that?" she asked. "Poison?"

"Oh yeah." he chuckled. "This is a highly concentrated version of the poison of a box jellyfish."

"Okay." she said slowly.

"The box jellyfish is the most venomous marine animal in the world." he explained. "It's venom causes heart failure within minutes if you're stung and it's not treated within minutes."

"My guess is this kills quicker?" she raised her eyebrows.

"Oh yeah, in this concentration, it kills within seconds." he nodded. "There's also some blue-ringed octopus poison in this concoction, that one causes muscle paralysis."

"So, if this gets into your body, you would fall down, unable to move and die within seconds from heart failure." she summarized.

"Pretty much." he winked and began dipping the needles into the bottle.

"You want to do it like this?" she wondered.

"Better than to start a gun battle with elite soldiers who outnumber us four two one and are better armed than we are." he argued.

"True." she had to admit and began helping him with the second cylinder.

They worked quickly but carefully and five minutes later, every needle had a nasty looking green hue covering half an inch at its tip. Leonard put them back into their cylinders and slotted them into the guns, handing Penny one of them. He checked a monitor in the basement and clicked through various security camera angles, making mental notes of the current locations of his targets.

"There are four of them outside, one covering each side." he said. "Those are your job."

"We're separating?" she was aghast.

"I don't like it, but yes." he nodded.

"Once I'm done with the ones outside, I will come in to help you." she stated.

"I know." he gave her a smile before pressing his lips against hers. "Don't you dare die."

"Same to you." she punched his arm playfully. "If you do, I'll be extremely pissed."

They walked up the stairs, Leonard turning off most of the lights, leaving only a soft glow LED on to see the stairs. Neither had the dark vision glasses, so they relied on their natural senses. When they left the shooting range, they entered the regular basement, Penny looking behind her to see the entrance where a tool rake would normally be.

Leonard stopped at the basement door and placed the tablet against the wall, looking at it and turning the screen to a function that showed every security camera feed on one screen, separated into several small boxes. Penny saw the screen showing the basement door and one of the mercenaries standing in front of it as well as someone else coming out of the bathroom and walking past the first guy.

"When I tell you, open the door." he whispered and pointed at the handle.

"Got it." she nodded and got into position, wondering how he would deal with the man without alerting his friends.

Making sure that no second mercenary would enter the hallway, he used his hand to count down from five and when his last finger lowered, he gave her a nod. She turned the handle and stepped backwards, the door opening without making much sound. Before the guy could turn his head to turn towards the sound, Leonard's hands went around his neck and he twisted and pulled, the neck snapping audibly. The man went slack and Leonard pulled him backwards, almost stumbling down the stairs from the sudden weight imbalance.

Penny pushed the door closed as soon as the guy's feet were passed it, making sure not to slam it before grabbing the tablet. Leonard half carried and half pulled the guy down the stairs, the mercenary's feet sometimes banging against the concrete stairs. He pulled him into the gun range, Penny quickly following and pulling the lever that closed the door again.

While Leonard pushed the dead body against the wall, Penny kept looking at the tablet to see if any other mercenary had heard the noise and came to check. One became visible at the top of the stairs, looking at the basement door and staring as if deciding to check or not or maybe just listening to sounds. After twenty seconds, the guy shrugged and went back to Alfred's office.

"Eight more to go." Leonard whispered.

"How do I get outside without any of them seeing me?" she asked. "They're covering every side as if they think Alfred could escape."

"Given the four dead bodies behind the house, I'm not surprised about their caution." Leonard pointed to the top right box, where the four blanket covered bodies could be seen. "You should exit through the kitchen, they seem to avoid it."

"Avoid it?"

"This guy was the one that came out of the bathroom." he pointed to the one that was outside on the side of the house that the kitchen door lead to. "He went out the front door instead of going through the kitchen."

"Why?"

"My guess is it has something to do with whatever is simmering on the stove." he said, enlarging the kitchen view.

"What's that?" she wondered.

"I doubt it's soup." he shrugged. "Doesn't matter, you take care of the guys outside, I'll do the ones inside the house."

"Got it." she nodded.

She moved towards the door and noticed Leonard bending down next to the corpse for a second before joining her. They exited the gun range and closed the hidden door, then proceeded to the basement door. Leonard again checked the video feed for a few seconds and opened the door, allowing her to slip out into the hallway.

He followed her out and closed the door, pointing towards the kitchen door again. As he moved towards the stairs, she looked at his back for a few seconds before concentrating on her job. She walked into the kitchen, checking the stuff that was in the pot and making a face at the smell of it. When she reached the door, she quickly had to hide behind it, the mercenary outside walking past the open door.

When he had passed, she sneaked out and stepped outside, keeping close to the wall to prevent a possible discovery if one of the mercenaries in the house was right above her. She pointed the needle gun at the mercenary, noticing his body armor and lowered her aim before pressing the trigger. The needle shot out and hit the man in the right butt cheek and he took a breath to squeal in pain but before he could exhale it, he froze up and collapsed , his body twitching for ten seconds before lying still, his face frozen in a panicked expression.

Penny grabbed his feet and pulled him towards the door but only pushed his prone form against the wall so he would only be discovered if someone came around the corner. Making a choice and hoping for the best, she turned right and went to the east side, peeking around the corner to see where her next target was situated.

The guy made it easy for her, sitting on one of the lawn chairs, with his hands behind his head, softly whistling through his teeth while smoking a cigarette. The two filled ashtrays next to him told her that this guy might have a problem but she put it out of her mind for now and turned around, seeing the guy as the lesser risk.

As she moved towards the west side of the house, she noticed the mercenary from there walking towards her, so she dove towards the wall and pressed herself as hard against it as possible. When he came around the corner, he stopped, probably because he couldn't find his companion right away and just as he made eye contact with Penny, she put a needle into his eye. His body stiffened and he collapsed backwards and she could see the telltale twitching of his body filling with adrenaline as his heart died from a severe infarction.

She pulled him towards the kitchen as well, placing him on the other side of the door against the wall. Returning to the east side, the mercenary was still sitting on the lawn chair, except that the ashtray contained one more cigarette butt and a new one was already in the guy's mouth. She sneaked up behind him and thought abut simply stabbing her knife through his throat but was worried about the guy making too much noise when dying, so she removed the cylinder and took one of the needles, using that to stab him in the side of his throat.

She held the guy's mouth shut, taking care not to touch the end of the cigarette and waited for him to die. Twenty seconds later, she was moving again, crouch-walking around the house but just as she was about to peak around the corner, the last mercenary came face to chest with her. Penny looked up in shock, the man at least a foot taller and she pointed the needle gun at him but before she could shoot, he smacked it out of her hand and punched.

Her training with Alfred kicking in, she knew that she couldn't dodge the punch so she lowered her head to present her forehead instead of her chin and the man's fist smacked into her skull. He grunted in pain, shaking out his hand and tried to pull his rifle from his back with the other. Penny, acting on instinct, jumped up, using the wall to get height and landed on his shoulder.

In a different circumstance, the position she and the mercenary found themselves in might have been quite enjoyable, given that her crotch was pressed against his face but right now, the guy had to deal with the fact that she twisted around, trying to get behind him. She managed to turn around, her left leg squeezing his throat but he grabbed up and pulled her down.

She hit the ground hard, her breath going out of her and just avoided his foot coming down. She was uncomfortably reminded of the fight against Rico, the man having the same massive body and he had also tried to stomp on her face. She twisted out of the way and turned her body in an attempt to kick his leg but the mercenary just lifted his foot to avoid her attack.

She continued twisting to get back up and barely managed to kick the man's gun out of his hand before he could pull the trigger. He grabbed his own knife and gave her a wicked smile before attacking, Penny barely able to avoid his swings. She deflected some of his attacks with her own knife, the two metal blades rasping against each other. She knew that at this point, anyone in the house would have heard the fight and she had to trust that Leonard had done his part.

She went on the offensive, using the technique Alfred had taught her but she did the worst mistake for a fight like this. She underestimated her opponent and he quickly grabbed her wrist, pulling and twisting as he did so. Only her mobility saved her, and she did a side flip to avoid having her wrist broken. Her small victory was short-lived though when a huge fist smacked into the back of her head, pushing her forward and making her fall down. She caught herself and rolled onto her back, coming face to face with the bad end of a pistol.

"You fought harder than some hardened soldiers I faced." the man nodded. "But it ends now."

Before he could pull the trigger, a very loud bang came from the second floor, accompanied by a blinding flash. The man did the second worst mistake anyone could make in a fight when he looked up, giving Penny the time to scramble for the needle gun that had landed close to where she was. She barely aimed before she pulled the trigger, the needle hitting the man in side of the chin, sticking in the soft flesh above the lower jaw. He just had time to look at her in shock before his body stiffened.

"Thanks for the compliment." she gave him a smile. "But you should never look away from your opponent if they aren't dead yet."

Before the man collapsed to the ground, she was already moving to the front door. She reached it just as the big man collapsed and opened it carefully, not knowing who had thrown the flashbang. She proceeded up the stairs and peeked around the corner, seeing three of the four mercenaries on the floor. She hesitated for a moment before moving towards Alfred's office but none of them moved.

"It's okay." Leonard's voice came from the room.

She sighed in relief and relaxed, entering the office to find Leonard cradling Alfred in his arms, a woman also on the floor with her wrists and ankles tied with zip ties behind her back. She knelt down next to them and was almost in tears, thinking Alfred dead when he moaned, the old man's eyes opening and trying to focus.

"Dad?" Leonard asked, holding Alfred's head.

"Son, is that you?" Alfred croaked.

"Yes, we're here." Leonard nodded, even though Alfred couldn't see the gesture.

"We came as fast as we could." Penny added.

"Thank you." Alfred coughed. "No names."

"Right." Penny realized that he had called Leonard 'son' and not by his name.

"Water." Alfred pleaded.

"Right away." Penny jumped up and hurried down the stairs, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge.

She returned, finding Alfred sitting on the couch and Leonard kneeling in front of him. She gave the bottle to Leonard, who helped Alfred take a few gulps before the older man leaned against the backrest.

"What was that flash?" she asked.

"Flashbang. Got it from the guy in the basement." Leonard shrugged. "Thanks for starting that fight down there, helped get them all to bunch up at the window."

"You're welcome." she chuckled, her forehead still hurting from the fist that had hit it.

"Yes, you're very welcome that we made it easy for you to kill us." the other woman suddenly spoke up.

"We're not done yet." Penny said and pulled out her knife to finish the job.

"No." Leonard stopped her.

"Why?" Penny asked.

"Because she needs to tell us who has sent her." Leonard explained.

"I don't think there's even a questions about who sent her." Penny scoffed.

"True, but we don't know where he is." Leonard pointed out. "She might."

"You think she will just tell us?" she was doubtful.

"Why wouldn't I?" the woman chuckled. "I would rather not die."

"It's okay." Alfred gave her a wave, Penny finally lowering the knife, before getting up to stumble over to the prone woman. "Why didn't you call Patrick to tell him that you caught me?"

"Because I wanted to ask you a few questions about your time with my father." she replied.

"Guys, meet Sie, leader of the Veteran Combat Initiative." Alfred introduced them. "Turns out, I worked with her father."

"What's that stuff in the kitchen?" Penny asked.

"Just a little truth serum." Sie shrugged, still prone.

"Get her seated." Alfred pointed to her and Leonard pulled her into a sitting position. "Why a truth serum, you could have just asked."

"Would you have told me the truth?"

"That would have depended on the question." Alfred shrugged. "What do you want to know?"

"I want to know what happened in Warsaw." she said.

"Tell you what." Alfred said and walked towards one of his cabinets, from which he produced a thick binder. "You tell us how we get to Patrick and not only will we let you leave, I will even give you this."

"What is that?" Sie asked.

"That, my dear Sie, is everything about what happened in Warsaw." Alfred chuckled. "Oh, and from now on, you will leave us alone. Any job involving any of us as targets, you will refuse."

"Understood." Sie nodded.

"Untie her." Alfred ordered.

"Are you sure?" Penny was incredulous.

"Sie is nothing but pragmatic." Alfred nodded as Leonard cut her ties, the woman rubbing her wrists before sitting down on one of the chairs, Alfred sitting down in the other, facing her. "Now, lets talk."
