Ch. 9: Totsuzen no shin'nyū part 3

At the one-story building, the rest of the survivors are inside, and are wondering what happened to Naegi and the others as they haven't heard from them for over 30 minutes, and some of them are starting to get worried though the others managed to calm them down as they assured that Naegi and the others would come back here with positive news.

The survivors are shown having armed themselves in case some giant insects make their way here, and are identified as:

- Byakuya Togami

- Yui Sumidare

- Aloysius Pennyworth

- Sayaka Maizono

- Yasuhiro Hagakure

- Ayaka Haneyama

- Satomi Aoba

- Hiroko Hagakure

Togami was left in charge, with Aloysius and Hiroko assisting the SHSL Heir, and while waiting for Naegi and the others to return, Yasuhiro is attempting to sneak out in order to find some loose cash, only for Hiroko to smack her son on the head and berated him for his immature behavior as she reminded him that he cannot venture outside for obvious reasons.

"I already told you to knock it off, Yasuhiro!"

"But, mama…I need…"

"No, means no!"

"But..."

"You're not going anywhere. You stay put and wait until help arrives."

"Eh…? But I..."

"I mean it! Stay put!"

"…"

The others join in and berated Yasuhiro for his foolishness and told him to stay put and not cause trouble for everyone, causing the SHSL Fortune Teller to twitch his eyes as the other survivors surrounded him and sternly told him not to try anything stupid or he will regret it.

"You heard what she said! You stay put!"

"Yeah, stay put!"

"Stay put!"

Suddenly, Ohwada and Yukimaru came, which made the other survivors feel relieved, though Togami noticed that Naegi and the others are not with them, and there he noticed that the Fenrir members are there, which the Fenrir members are identified as:

- Kyosuke

- Norika

- Aki

- Miki

- Sawada

- Mizushima

- Kida

- Mitsuo Mishimo

Togami approached Ohwada and Yukimaru and asked what is going on here, and there the latter two explained the situation, in which they told him that Ikusaba instructed the Fenrir members to accompany everyone here and head to the assigned meeting place where Naegi and the others are waiting, with Ikusaba and the other Fenrir members providing protection.

"So Ikusaba is here in this island…"

"Yeah…"

"Those soldiers are with her…"

"Yeah…"

"And they are to escort us all to safer areas…?"

"Yeah…"

Nodding, Togami whispered to Aloysius and Hiroko, where he asked for their opinions, in which the two adults said that they would trust Kirigiri for now as they felt that this is better than waiting here as they worry that when the morning arrive the giant dragonflies might show up again and cause a massacre.

"So you say that we should leave here now…?"

"Yeah…"

"Are you sure that this is for the best…?"

"Yeah…"

"I see…then we should go for it then…"

"Yeah…"

After coming to an agreement, Togami told the others that they are leaving and are heading to where Naegi and the others are waiting, and the rest of the survivors nodded in acknowledgement as they are now ready to move out.

"Okay!"

Meanwhile, the scene shows that the remaining Fenrir members, led by Ikusaba, told Naegi and the others to be ready as she said that at this time of the night nocturnal insects would come out and look for food, and given that the insects here are now gigantic in size, they are sure to take people as food, so she told the other survivors to brace themselves as a huge firefight would ensue anytime without warning.

"Everyone. Be alert for anything. For now we would have to put up with this until my fellow Fenrir members arrive along with your fellow survivors."

"Okay."

"And once they arrive we will head for the safehouse and rest. Then we plan on how to escape the island while staying alive."

"Okay."

By then, Norika, Aki, and Miki saw something that is approaching, which revealed to be another giant katydid, and there the three Fenrir members told Ikusaba about it, and she told her fellow Fenrir members that they are going to use the same tactic, and the three Fenrir members nodded in acknowledgement, as they went into position as the giant katydid is now in plain sight.

"Okay. We use the same tactic as before. And you guys know what to do, right? So we got to do this right until Kyosuke and the others arrive."

"Okay."

"Good. Take your positions and get ready. We got to nail that bug down."

"Okay."

The three Fenrir members hid themselves at a few hiding areas while Ikusaba stood there as she plays the bait, which worked as another giant katydid arrived, and is now ready to dine as it saw Ikusaba standing there and the giant katydid is getting ready to feast on the SHSL Soldier as it is now hungry for flesh.

As the giant katydid approached Ikusaba and is about to grab her, the SHSL Soldier brought out a spray can, which contains elements of a tear gas and sprayed it onto the giant katydid's eyes, which caused the giant insect to back away while thrashing its head due to the irritation on its eyes as it was momentarily blinded and in is writhing in pain.

At this point Norika, Aki, and Miki came out and took the chance and opened fire, shooting the katydid on its legs, which slowly amputates the giant insect's leg and it caused it to fall to the ground before the Fenrir members shoots the giant katydid on its face and gradually the bullets penetrated the brain and the giant katydid was killed.

Makoto and Komaru Naegi watched on, as Kirigiri, Aoi and Ohgami came out as Ikusaba signals her classmates to come out as the coast is clear, and there she said that for now things are peaceful and she suggested that they all head for the public bathroom so they can shower and feel refreshed.

Ikusaba then told Norika, Aki, and Miki to stand guard and wait for the other Fenrir members to arrive, which they nodded in acknowledgement.

"You three…stand guard and wait for Kyosuke and the others to arrive."

"Okay."

"We'll be at the public bathroom. Find me there if the others came back."

"Okay."
