Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here, while Naegi and his schoolmates are in the process of making an emergency escape as an unexpected situation takes place, this chapter will feature another group of survivors who are working on helping other survivor, but will also feature some OLD GRUDGES, thus restarting the tension as there will be a bit of action here…

Ch. 26: Zaidan no yōsai
The first Humvee, driven by Kizakura, contained most of Class 77, and there he navigated his way and saw a horde of zombies in front of him and decided to take a risk as he could not stop or turn in time, and using speed, the Humvee managed to get past the zombie horde, and there Fuyuhiko uses his radio and informed the others that they will meet up at the Kuzuryuu manor and will provide the directions on where to go.
The other Humvee, driven by Jin Kirigiri, contain most of Class 80, Sato, Hinata and some of the Class 78 students, and they are forced to take a detour to avoid a thick barrier of zombies, and managed to get past them, ensuring its safety.
There Him asked the students if any of them are okay, which they responded that all of them are fine and unhurt.
"Yeah, we're fine."
"I'm okay. "
"Same here."
"Not a bruise."
"I'm good."
"Me too."
"Fine with me."
"Got milk?"
However, this leaves the third Humvee, which is driven by Ikusaba, where it consists of the following passengers:
- Makoto Naegi
- Sayaka Maizono
- Kaede Akamatsu
- Natsumi Kuzuryuu
- Komaru Naegi
Ikusaba gritted her teeth as she saw that the corners she took are filled with zombies blocking the streets and their vast numbers make it difficult for the Humvee to ram its way through, thus she is forced to back away and look for another way to get through, and as she went around the corner, she saw more roadblocks, and this made Komaru buck under pressure, but Makoto assured to his younger sister that everything will be okay and that they will escape safely from the zombies.

Meanwhile, the first two Humvees are now at the highway as they are racing against time as they needed to avoid running into a horde of zombies that would block the path, since the Humvees are not sturdy enough to ram a dozen zombies, as the Humvees can only ram about four to six zombies at a time, which Jin and Kizakura are aware of, as protecting the students are their main priority.
By then Jin saw that a dozen zombies are seen in front of them, and he gritted his teeth as he could not stop in time as they are getting near, and that there are no corners at this time that would allow him to evade the horde, and he told the passengers to brace themselves as the ride will get quite…if not potentially…BUMPY.
The students, however, said they are prepared and urged the headmaster to ram the zombies at high speed and assured to him that they will weather it all and get past the barricade of hungry zombies that would try to stop this Humvee.
"Go for it, headmaster!"
"Go for broke!"
"Waste those suckers!"
"We'll be fine."
"We're ready for this!"
"Don't hesitate, headmaster!"
"Do it!"
"For Hope's Peak!"
Suddenly, they heard a sound of thumping on the roof of the Humvee, and there it turn out to be Kibo, as he told Jin to proceed in driving as he will shoot at the zombies to create a pathway, which Jin nodded, and there Kibo fired his finger bullets and shoots the zombies on the head, killing them instantly and this decreased the numbers until only a few are left, and this allowed the Humvee to get past the bodies, and the Humvee successfully got through, followed by the second Humvee that is driven by Kizakura.
The two vehicles continue to cruise as they listened to Fuyuhiko's instruction as the SHSL Gangster is giving directions on which route is the fastest in heading to the Kuzuryuu manor, but then, via radio, Jin and Kizakura noticed that the third Humvee is not in sight, which some of the Class 78 members became worried.
"The third Humvee is not following us!"
"What? Are you sure, Kizakura?"
"I'm afraid so, Jin…"
"Damn! I better…"
"Just keep driving, Jin…"
"But the students…"
"I'm pretty sure they're fine along with other classmates. Once we're safe at the Kuzuryuu manor, we can send the robot to find the others."
"…"
Likewise, Fuyuhiko became worried too as his younger sister, Natsumi, is also at the third Humvee, but Jin assured to Fuyuhiko that the third Humvee's passengers will be safe, and Kyoko added that once they reach the Kuzuryuu manor, she will instruct Iruma to send Kibo to find the third Humvee to ensure that Naegi and the others would be safe.
Fuyuhiko is about to rebut, but realized that they have a point, and said he'll lead everyone to the Kuzuryuu manor, but he tells Iruma that once they arrive, she will send Kibo to find Natsumi and the others, which the SHSL Inventor haughtily assure that everything will be okay.
"Sure!"
"Can I trust you on that?"
"Of course!"
"Really?"
"Really! Kibo will find them!"
"Tsk! Fine."
"Ha-ha!"
"…"
And thus the two Humvees proceeded to cruise the highway as they head out towards the Kuzuryuu manor, while Kibo uses his weapons to clear the path by shooting down any zombies at sight.

Elsewhere, the scene shifts at what appeared to be a skyscraper-type building, where the alumni of persons who graduated from Hope's Peak Academy years ago are seen, where they are gathering some survivors and had them armed for self-defense. The ones leading the survivors consists of former Hope's Peak students, which are:
- Kyosuke Munakata
- Chisa Yukizome
- Juzo Sakakura
- Daisaku Bandai
- Great Gozu
- Ruruka Ando
- Sonosuke Izayoi
With Munakata leading, the building somewhat made a good fortress and somehow managed to keep the survivors together and not give in to despair…or madness. Munakata appointed Sakakura and Gozu to oversee security and to keep the survivors from causing any domestic dispute that would compromise the building's security.
He also appointed Izayoi to make weapons that can be sued in case a horde of zombies attempt to force their way in, which a rather unwilling Izayoi reluctantly nodded, though Ando asked Izayoi why they have to put up with Munakata's way, but the former SHSL Blacksmith said that for now they needed to survive and as of now this is the best way to stay safe.
He also assured to Ando that once things settle down, then they will make a run for it and head to an island that is a safe zone, like in Kyushu or Okinawa.
"Trust me, Ruruka. This is the best way we can do for now, since we can survive for the time-being."
"Eh? But…"
"Let's put up with him for now."
"Damn it…"
"Trust me on this."
"Oh…fine."
"Good."
"Hmph."
While making rounds, Sakakura was told by one of the guards that they saw two person are sighted near the building, which Sakakura uses a binocular to check it out, and saw two persons being chased by zombies, and upon closer inspection, the former SHSL Boxer recognized the two fleeing person, which turn out to be:
- Seiko Kimura
- Miaya Gekkouhara
Seeing that Kimura is the one doing the fighting and that Gekkouhara is confined to a motorized wheelchair, Sakakura went to Munakata and told him of the situation, and there the former SHSL Student Council President thought carefully and told Sakakura to keep things guarded as he will go and fetch the two fleeing former Hope's Peak students.
Yukizome and Sakakura became concerned and advised him against this, but Munakata assured to his two friends that he will be okay and that he and the two victims will be back and intact.
"…and that's that…"
"Kyosuke…"
"Munakata…are you sure about this?"
"Yes."
"But…"
"Maybe I should…"
"I'll be okay. Do not worry."
"…"
"…"
Yukizome and Sakakura reluctantly nodded as Munakata leaves the building to confront the zombies who are targeting Kimura and Gekkouhara, which an annoyed Ando could not believe that Munakata would actually go and attempt to rescue two SMALL FRIES who are better off becoming zombie chow, but Izayoi said that for now this will have to do as they still need Munakata's leadership and would have to put up with him.
Ando whined and said this isn't what she signed up for, but Izayoi assured to her that everything will be okay and for now they would have to put up with this as staying alive is important right now.
"Trust me, Ruruka. This is the best way we can do for now, since we can survive for the time-being."
"Eh? But…"
"Let's put up with him for now."
"Damn it…"
"Trust me on this."
"Oh…fine."
"Good."
"Hmph."
Outside the building, Munakata, armed with his katana, took down several zombies by decapitating them and managed to get closer to Kimura and Gekkouhara, and told the two to follow him as they can seek refuge at the building he is staying, saying that he had it fortified in defense and that the two will be safe if they stay there.
Kimura nodded and thanked Munakata for the help, which he said it is nothing.
"Thank you!"
"It's nothing."
"I owe you my life!"
"Then repay it by helping us."
"I will!"
"Then let's go. Help me deal with these things so that they do not know where we are heading…"
"Very well…"
"Let's go!"
Munakata and Kimura then combined their talents and managed to repel the zombies, allowing Gekkouhara to move ahead, and by then Izayoi arrived, carrying projectile-based weapons that involves the use of bladed weapons like crossbows and darts, and he gave one to Munakata and Kimura, and the trio opened fire, shooting the zombies on their heads.
This tactic worked as the zombies decreases in numbers and soon the streets are cleared for now, and this allowed the four to head back to the fortified skyscraper. This tactic is made so that there won't be any zombies around to see their prey heading to the building, because once any zombies SEES where the prey is going, they will head to that direction and relentlessly pursue their target.
Once safely inside the skyscraper, tension mounts as Ando is shocked and annoyed at seeing Kimura, and Kimura feels the same, as the two had a bad history with one another that happened two years ago, and both females came to a verbal war that threatens to blow out of proportion.
"You diabetic freak!"
"Bad breath woman!"
"Go see the dentist!"
"Go jack off!"
"You sweet tooth asshole!"
"You have a cleft lip!"
"I'll kill you!"
"Bring it on, you bitch!"
Before Ando and Kimura come to blows, they were restrained by Sakakura and Izayoi, in which the two men urged the two females to calm down and not fight among themselves, which didn't quite work as Ando hurled insults at the former SHSL Pharmacist while the latter insulted the former SHSL Confectioner back.
"You diabetic freak!"
"Bad breath woman!"
"Go see the dentist!"
"Go jack off!"
"You sweet tooth asshole!"
"You have a cleft lip!"
"I'll kill you!"
"Bring it on, you bitch!"
Izayoi whispered to Ando and told her to let it go for now, as they have to rely on Munakata's leadership in safeguarding the skyscraper and that arguing with Kimura won't help matters, and assured to her that things will be okay once the zombies are taken care of, which Ando stared in surprise at hearing what her boyfriend just said.
Ando whispered back, asking him why is he siding with Kimura, which he deny it, saying that since Munakata is heading the defense of this building, he gets the final say on who stays and who goes, and it would be bad if Munakata feels that Ando has to go, and urges her to stay her hand and just ignore Kimura for the time being.
Ando twitched her eyes at hearing this, as she felt humiliated, but also sees the logic, and left with no choice, she did what Izayoi said, and he promised that he won't let Kimura come close to her.
"Trust me, Ruruka. This is the best way we can do for now, since we can survive for the time-being."
"Eh? But…"
"Let's put up with him for now."
"Damn it…"
"Trust me on this."
"Oh…fine."
"Good."
"Hmph."
