Hey everyone, I'm back this chapter refused to be written and life was refusing to give me opportunity to write. We are nearing 2000 views on ff and I want to thank you all so much. Remember that this is now a cross upload between FF and AO, right now, there is no difference but when Lance and his mistresses get more intimate AO will have some more steamy parts while FF will not due to its rules.

Dreamon4144, I hope I can continue to give you a good read. Juan will play an important role later on, but no, he will not be overlord.

I would also like to let you know that there are more projects on its way. You can check out "Songs of dark nights" on my page now. Where you can see stories of Disney princesses who missed their happily ever after, inspired by the covers of Lydia the bard.

Coming soon, "You make me shiver, in the best ways." A Danny phantom Erma crossover where 2 half ghost return from the fight of their half lives.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. You are here for a story and I will leave you to it, Read review, enjoy!

Burning desire

The throne room was quiet. The gray stone glowed an eerie blue as the magic of the tower-hearth now filled the carvings in the walls with glowing mana. To Lance, it was soothing as it allowed a near unlimited supply of magic to surround him, healing his injuries and clearing his mind.

Yang kneeled before the overlord's throne. Her violet eyes glowing faintly, her hair still flickering with golden fire. She felt hot, an unnatural sensation spreading from her heart through her veins. She wondered if her master had left it as a punishment, the steely gaze of both him and the woman at his left the question in her mind, instead, she focused on the business at hand.

"Master, Mistress has given me the mission of retrieving the red hive."

Lance looked to his left, where Ruby stood tall and unflinching. Yang had the impression that if Ruby had been this stern at the start of their school days, Weiss wouldn't have minded that the younger girl was chosen to be their team leader.

"You ordered without my leave? " there was no anger in his voice, just surprise and curiosity.

"Yes my lord. I do not wish to impose on your rule. But I know Yang's capabilities, she is a competent huntress who has earned her place on the battlefield." sadly, Ruby said this without as much as a hint of pride in her sister.

Gnarl spoke wistfully from the right of the throne.

"Hmm a stroll trough hell retrieving ancient artifacts with a nice bit of slaughter, ahhh an excellent first date."

Yang remembered a certain evening, ending on stage with a wannabe magician. After she and a girl from single had stolen some beers. She was pretty sure the girl had actually ran away with him to join the circus. Leaving Yang to cash in the 'I need a favor, and you can't ask any questions' card. Which Qurow he gave her for her sweet 16. "I have had worse."

Lance groaned as he remembered his, for lack of a better word, romances with the children of the thralls. It took his mother only a weekend to get so sick of the brainless woman's lack of any personality that she killed her with a candlestick. The best thing he got out of that was seeing his little sister winning the betting pool from dark Fay. "So have I".

Ruby looked uncomfortable as she spoke, "My Lord. I believe it's best if you don't. Join Yang on this outing."

Lance looked over to his mistress.

"What?!"

It was very obvious that this was a dangerous thing to say to the overlord. Gnarl hastily took a step back as his master rose to his full high and looked down on his mistress. Gnarl liked the lass well enough, but he had been around as Kelda and The Forth Overlord raised the young man, and the term living weapon was not badly suited for what they made of him. Yet to her credit the mistress withered the storm, her silver eyes calm and her voice almost soothing. Yang had to suppress a smile something of the nurturing nature Summer had left ruby with still survived in the shadow of the tower.

"Darling your armor is damaged. You are not in your world's hell you are in Remnant's and from what you said there are things in here that wield weapons, that means that they have guns probably powered up with magic. I believe it's best to unlock your aura before you go out."

"Then do so."

The anger had left his voice, but his body was still tense and the glow of his eyes was fierce the cage might be closed, but the beast was at its gate.

"I will the problem is that at the start it will be strenuous, it will be a conscious process to keep it up and cost both mental and physical effort. Please Lance, if you go out before you are ready it will mean death…for both of us."

Lance balled his fists. He wanted to be out there, but he knew Ruby was right. From what he had seen so far, the people of remnant had weapons that could rival his magic and their aura would give them all the protection of armor without the restraint of the weight or loss of movement. He needed the reds for the forge, and he needed the power of aura together with his magic if he wanted to be anywhere near the power expected from an Overlord.

"Very well yang take a group of browns and retrieve the hive, the reds will recognize the browns you should be safe. Ruby, you and I will unlock and train my aura."

Ruby tried not to look at Yang, weather out of concern or disgust, she didn't know. Lance led her towards a corridor that ended in a open air arena. And lance stood in the middle of the arena

"So how do we do this."

"Well, as I told you aura is a manifestation of the soul, So I will basically use my soul to touch yours and drag it outwards."

"Your soul touches mine? Sounds personal."

Ruby suddenly blushed. "I actually never thought of it that way, to be honest."

Lance approached Ruby while he took off his helmet and his smaller gauntlet, offering his bare hand to Ruby. The hand was scared and callus from a lifetime of auraless training with the blade, and if she had to guess the small burn marks were a token of magic training.

"It's unbecoming of an overlord to show the scars from training."

"Because it shows you can be hurt?"

"It shows I once was weak and vulnerable."

Ruby took a deep breath and started pushing her aura towards Lance, almost gasping at what she felt as she made contact. If she had to compare it to anything, she would call it a dragon, a mighty force of nature that would take what it wanted for its horde and destroy whatever dared to be foolish enough to stand in it's way, the soul of a conqueror.

"Gods you have a lot of aura. here we go."

"For it is in love that we become immortal, it's in its embrace we overcome our limits and disarm the sting of death, I will carry you in my hearth and until my final breath stand by you."

At this point, Ruby expected the arena to glow as the aura was activated, but that was not happening, just nothing.

"Did it work? I'm not feeling different."

Ruby frowned that should have worked. "Shit the chant!" she slapped her forehead.

"What went wrong?"

"Everyone that can unlock aura uses a chant, but the chant is different between people and reflects the person."

"Ah, and you were a heroin, so your chant is."

"Gumdrops unicorns and rainbows, ugh."

"I never got the whole unicorn craze. Sure if you are a young woman you are fine but the moment they see a bloke they get psychotic."

Your world has actual unicorns?! Okay, so after we get the gang back together, we definitely need to have a sit down and discuss the difference between our world. Because this is getting ridiculous. Okay Ruby think you have watched TV you read comics and played games you can make a villain chant."

"For it is in evil I found salvation, in the darkness we break our shackles. Unbound by morals, we shall master life and death. I will stand at your side as the world bows or falls at our feet. And with my fury, guard you."

The aura crept over the overlord's body it was like looking at the event horizon of a black hole bending all things around it, Ruby drew back as she almost felt the power of the aura suck her own aura into it.

"Well, that was quite something." Lance flexed his muscles, feeling the steel of his armor straining against his body's enhanced strength as the shadowy aura faded. "It's going to be a good thing that we do not have a completed castle yet."

Ruby rubbed the back of her head."Yhea I broke a lot of precious things just after my aura was activated When I was a little girl."

"Your parents gave this power to you as a kid, why?"

"Well, I grew up around a forest. My home is Patch an island close to Vale. It's mostly safe, but we do have the occasional grim from time to time, sooooo they thought it's better to be safe."

"Sounds sensible, so how do we train this."

"Like any fighting skill." She smiled as she pulled out Crescent rose.

"Oh? Is her highness in for a second round?"

Lance pulled his blade from his sheet, and they rushed forward and smiled at one another as their weapons locked.

"If I get a hit in, you teach me how to enchant weapons."

"You have a deal."

Yang walked up to the group of five Minions. The biggest one stood at the front, his arms were scarred. one of his ears was missing its tip, the wound looked like something had taken a bite from it. He looked up at her and spoke.

"You Yang?"

"Yes I am."

"Me Knuckle, me don't get this. You annoyed masta, should be killed but he likes you? It no makes sens. But not born to think. You point we smash, Master says you dead we kill you.

Yang nodded, these minions didn't kid around. And honestly, she found it a better deal than what her master and Gnarl had offered. Before the meeting in the throne room, Gnarl had shown her his potion collection. He had shown her a rather pail-looking liquid he called Lethe draft, it would wipe the memory of her from the minds of everyone she knew. Weiss would scream and belittle her with the same voice that had comforted her back in Minstrel. Bake would probably make her a plaything, that one night they shared so far that most tender of moment would be turned into a twisted dark nightmare. And Ruby her precious little sister that she all but raised after Summer had disappeared would be her tyrant they had promised they would tell Ruby that yang had tried to harm their master and Yang would eventually be nothing but a broken doll. I will not make it come that far.

"See that you don't." a voice from behind said as Penny walked in

"Hey Pen, what's up."

"The green-eyed girl glared, or she tried. Penny was not good at looking threatening. Even if the magic murals flared with magical power as the spirit of the thrower hearth became angry.

"You do not have permission to be casual with me yet Yang, I am a mistress."

Yang looked from Penny to the jumpy minions and sighed.

"Is there someone I haven't pissed off today."

Penny was still trying to look angry, but it was a hard thing that she soon gave up on.

"Yang I really hope you succeed, but I can't help you."

Yang nodded in understanding. Hover penny shot her a mischievous smile, and put a golden shackle around Yangs neck. "I can however order Gnarl to make sure you go the right way. You know because we need the hive."

"I take it's a double statement?"

We consider you ours, but well.

"You are ready to put a lease on me. But how does it help?"

"I'm still new to this whole magic thing, but I connected it to well myself, I guess. Anyway, it's similar to the enchantment on master's helmet. We can hear and see what you can, as well as contact you."

Yang nodded and looked at the portal.

"Penny, if master wipes my existence from everyone's memory, please take care of Ruby."

"I will. My last promise to an old friend, I won't remember who you were, but I will remember that."

There was nothing left to say and so Yang stepped through the vortex and out into a field of red grass on a steep cliff a herd of big black hared goats were grazing.

"Gnarl, do you copy?"

"I wish to think I'm quite original, Mis xiao long."

There was little to no respect in the minion master's voice, if she wanted to be seen as a mistress she would have to earn it or earn her place.

"I meant, do you hear me?"

"Ah yes I do, well do you have an idea where to go?"

Yang turned towards the cliff, making sure to not get close to the edge. Evil little imps plus a cliff sounded like a recipe for a bad ending of the story.

"I see a burning piece of forest, I guess that's it."

"Awww who is a good little huntress. You are yes you are, now if you are done stating the obvious go fetch."

She ignored the mocking minion and descended from the hill, glad that the minions could keep up with her as she ran towards the burning wood."

"ON YOUR LEFT!"

Gnarls voice went from startled to surprised as Yang took the hit from the bladed weapon head on her aura protected arm catching the weapon and pushing the armed guard back his armor had a familiar logo.

"That Aura of yours is quite something." Gnarl said intrigued, Yang really did not want to know how the old sadist was thinking about, especially since aura didn't completely stop pain.

"You have seen noting yet. "

Leaping towards the assailant, Yang's eyes flashed red as her gauntlet met his helmet with a loud crack, the guard's visor cracked open exposing a human skull. Once more the strange heat flared in Yang's body, her hands coughed fire and the next punch burned through its chest armor, turning it into a heap of dust and bone.

"You know, I don't want to say that I expected to find SDC personnel in hell, but I did."

"SDC?" Gnarl asked.

"Shnee dust company."

"Ah I believe mistress Ruby mentioned them, they manufacture dust I believe."

"In our world, dust is vital. Keeping machines going, warming houses, and it's vital for huntsman as a type of ammo. Nothing like throwing the power of the elements to the monsters that are trying to eat you."

"Ah, corruption a monopoly and a lot of gold I got it. Either way, that was quite impressive. Wraiths are not to be taken lightly, yet you handled yourself quite well."

"What are Wraith?"

"Spirits of the evil departed. I do believe you just disposed of my elementary gym partner. He never had much of a fashion sense, nor a good head for seeking jobs. Say that was more than just your aura at work, right."

"Yhea it was my semblance, a power that comes with a strong aura. Most are unique to the user Though Weiss has one that runs in the family and Ruby and summer had the same as well."

"What does yours do?"

"I collect kinetic energy from enemy attacks and send it right back. Admittedly, I never had the fire come out of my hands before. That started after my episode in the tower."

"Oooooh A berserker aye Haven't had one of those as a mistress yet… well, one got the title, but she was not a willing mistress."

"Chained to the throne?"

"Paralyzed lower legs and tossed on the bed. Wished she hadn't bitten off her thong, ahhh the screams were soothing."

Yang once more tried to ignore the old minion, something in her wanted to share in his twisted humor. But the knowledge that that would be her fate killed her laughter in her throat. A small part reminded her, she would once have been disgusted by things like that. Now the thought of an Overlord dominating her in such a way was almost appealing to shook her head

"No! Down girl" she whisper yelled at herself. "You are not a slave yet and if you manage not to fuck this up you will not need to be."

The flaming forest was strangely not unpleasant to walk in. something, Held the angry red flames in the canopy, Yang guessed that it was magic. Only embers drifted down like bright leaves in fall. The fine black ashes on the forest floor drifted up as her feet hit the ground. She heard a skittering among the trees as an enormous beetle came towards her, its carapace was a angry red and a fire engulfed its abdomen. Yang had played enough games to know that this thing would burn her if it hit her, so she clicked ember silica into its shotgun form. The beast spat apart in a gruesome cloud, leaving a handful of glowing red orbs.

"Is that life force?" Penny asked, standing next to Gnarl in the throne room.

"Yes These beetles used to be all over the place, they prefer the same living conditions as minions, though it's sometimes hard to say who is a food source to whom."

Yang looked around the forest until her eyes fell on something pinned to the gray bark of one of the trees. A small red body with a fiery red skin gray horns and a yellow stomach that was slowly loosing its glow, Yang suspected that the blade wound that had pierced one of its bright yellow eyes was at fault for that.

"Gnarl, Is this a Red Minion?"

"Indeed it is, it seems I will not be making a rug out of your hairs then"

Emboldened by her seemingly increasing odds Yang glared and made her tone deadly quiet.

"You listen here Gnarl touch my hair, and we will find out how many souls you are worth."

The blonde looked around the tree, silently thanking Port for the lessons in tracking grim. She soon found a trail of footprints leading into the forest, whatever had stabbed the minion was going that way. Taking a closer look at the prints Yang narrowed her eyes.

"Gnarl, what do most wraiths wear?"

"That is a bit of an odd question, most wear armor of one kind or the other. Often the current ruler of the abyss they appear in has some influence on it how so?"

"Because whoever killed our little red friend here is wearing womans boots, from a Vailien high-class brand."

Yang let out a chuckle.

"Something funny?"

"I'm about to give master his hive and my sister the bitch that put us here."
