Chapter 4: Victim of Suffering and Torment
The next day in class, lesson has yet to start and half of the class is present for now. Miyumi and Midori are chatting about girl stuff, Jeong is using his laptop for gaming with Joey watching him game, Harry is doing push-ups at the front of the classroom with Bull counting his reps and Kurt is sleeping on his desk.
Outside, Kappei is fixing his locker and once done, "I'll take a quick piss." He went to a nearby restroom and took a piss using the urinal. However, the door opened behind and, "So this is the one that you talked about Lunky?"
"Yeah boss."
"Huh?" Kappei looked behind to see 4 male students. They all have a gangster-like appearance for they wear the same colours consisting of sleeveless black T-shirts, ripped shorts, socks, shoes and spiked wristbands. "Heh. Heh. Heh. Hey freshman, have you awaken your power?"
"Excuse me?" Kappei asked and is starting to feel nervous as one of the thugs spoke up, "You know what Kinner? Let's get this over with and get to class in time."
"Point taken Bogs. Lunky, Frenk, grab him now!" The 2 mentioned thugs zipped behind Kappei and grabbed his arms. "Let me go! What are you doing?!" Kappei demanded as Lunky opened a cubicle and, "Perfect! This one's full of crap and it's not yet flushed!"
"Ahahahahaha! This is gonna be the 'dirtiest' move we've ever made!" Kinner declared as Frenk and Bogs dragged Kappei in as he panicked realizing his own situation. "NO! NO NO! PLEASE! SOMEBODY HELP ME!"
Back at class, Emma had just arrived. "Hmmm...Kappei is usually early but I wonder why he has yet to come..." Just then, the door opened and, "Dude! Why are you wet on the head?!" Cruz asked as Mikelus sniffed him. "Yikes! He smells like toilet water and brown crap!"
The entire class grossed out in horror as many backed away. "Ha! Ha! Mate did you get a swirlie?" Davis asked snickering while covering his nose.
"Oh shut up..." Kappei groaned as, "We're gonna need a fumigation expert." said Chantelle and she left the classroom grabbing Kappei on his sleeve making him tag along with her.
5 minutes before class starts, she returned with him refreshed and clean. "One of the janitors has an awakened power to disinfect the foul stenches and cleanse the stained." Chantelle explained as she let Kappei go and he went to his seat.
"What happened Kappei?" Emma asked.
"I don't wanna talk about it." He replied as Mrs Dean arrived early to start the lesson. "Alright class. Have you finished your homework on the essay in which you must write about the way of the shinobi in your own opinion?"
"Phew! I was able to save my schoolbag at least..." Kappei thought as he took out his paper which has his essay. The others also had their essays done as Mrs Dean went to collect them. After that, class is in session.
Later on after going through Geography and Physics, the class is at the badminton court having fun with the sport.
"Told ya PE class has some fun and games in sport!" Coach Spruce told Kappei and Emma as they watched their classmates have friendly matches. Miyumi and Midori displayed excellent teamwork and took the victory from Joey and Jeong.
After that, Nichelle and Colette had a match against Shane and Bull but lost to their powerful hits.
"Ah...nothing else went wrong during the classes...lunch break is next and how bad can it be?" Kappei thought to himself positively.
It now cuts to the cafeteria as he ordered his lunch which consists of 2 burritos, a platter of nacho chips with cheese sauce and a glass of iced lemon tea. He then made his way up to the 2nd level but upon arriving, "TAKE THIS!"
"CLANG!" That's the sound of a hand smacking his lunch tray down.
"MY LUNCH!" Kappei exclaimed in shock as Kinner and his peers laughed at him as on the floor, lunch is ruined. "And so is your face!" Kinner punched him hard and he tumbled down the stairs.
"Now for the finishing touches to this ninja who has no awakened powers." Kinner declared to his peers as they got ready when, "What is going on over there?"
"Crap! Better leg it then." They escaped in time as a ninja guard saw a downed Kappei. He helped him up and being a nice guy managed to buy him the lunch that he ordered.
Now back to the 2nd level as he joined his peers. "Another incident involving bullies?" Archie asked.
"Don't talk about it in front of me and let me enjoy my lunch." Kappei replied as he took a bite from his burrito.
"Sheesh mate, they really won't stop I can tell." All looked to see Davis passing by as, "Davis enough already, can't you see Kappei got his ass bullied?" Cruz asked.
"I know mate. But let me tell you this. Those who have yet to awaken their powers became bully targets. They ain't gonna stop until his life is a living hell." Davis revealed and went to sit with Harry, Declan and Kolton in which their table is a few feet away from theirs. Kappei just sighed and continued eating his lunch while Emma looked at him with deep concern.
"How interesting. Davis may think of himself highly and be a bit snide but he does give out good pointers. He's not a bad egg at least." Jeong observed him socializing with his friends while eating a grilled cheese sandwich.
After school, Kappei is checking his locker and arranging his school supplies for tomorrow and once done, he locked it and suddenly, something grabbed him.
A few minutes later, "Bogs, lock him in that dirty locker!"
"On it Kinner!"
"CLANG!"
Kappei soon found himself locked up completely as he banged onto the door but it's effective. Outside, "Oh man! This freshman is so easy to mess around! Ha! Ha!" Kinner laughed with his peers. "C'mon, let's call it a day and order takeaway. My treat."
The 3 thugs cheered and they left as, "Hello? Is anyone out there?" Kappei called out but there was no response. Scared, "How long am I gonna be stuck here..." But it was cut short when he heard something unlocking outside and the door opened revealing a male student. "Dude. Were you just stuffed in this old and rusty locker? It was supposed to be discarded today around evening."
"Oh thank goodness!" Kappei came out breathing the fresh air. "By the way, how did you unlock me out?"
"Access and Occlusion. It's my unique-ranked Awakened Power. Enables me to lock and unlock anything accessible." The student answered.
"So cool..." Kappei thought as he left already. He then sighed to himself and left.
It now cuts to his dorm as Gumchi is waiting outside the bathroom. Apparently when Kappei reached his dorm, he suddenly went to the bathroom, shed his clothes, turned on the shower and huddled himself on the floor and cried to himself quietly. Gumchi wished he knew what happened to him as he went to eat a packet of potato chips while waiting. Plus, Kappei skipped dinner as he contined to cry to himself in the shower.
Sniffing a bit, "Will things get any...better tomorrow?"
On Thursday...
No. Things never got any better. Instead, they got worse.
When Kappei opened the door to the school, a bucket of pee which was placed carefully on top of it fell right onto him! "SPLISH!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha! You smell like a dirty diaper! Gross!" Frenk called out as many laughed at him.
"Aw do you need a diaper you little crybaby?" Bogs teased as a fearful Kappei ran off covering his ears from the laughter that's growing louder.
At the third level, he arrived and unfortunately, he ran into Kinner and Lunky. "I hope you don't mind feeling the breeze beneath you." Kinner spoke up.
"Can you guys just stop this already..." Kappei begged but his words turned deaf as Lunky grabbed his pants and tore them apart! "Oh come on!"
Even worse, Kinner grabbed his underwear and ripped it off! "Have fun warming the seat with your bare ass!" He mocked as he and Lunky ran off laughing and likewise, some of the students nearby. Covering his lower front with his bag, "I better head to the restroom and do a text message. At least I have a spare underwear i my bag."
Inside, Kappei hid in the cubicle and waited anxiously. He then heard the door open as, "You inside Kap? It's Cruz and I got you a new pair of pants and that janitor who can disinfect you with his power."
"Inside here!" He called out as he unlocked the door. The janitor carefully opened the door and did his job. Once done, he closed the door and left the restroom as a pair of pants was hung on the door. Swiftly, he wore it and came out relieved. "Thanks Cruz."
"No problem. Now all you need to do now is report this bullying." Cruz suggested.
"I don't want any trouble and I'd rather not." Kappei replied as he left hastily.
However, trouble seemed to have never left him because during lunch, Kinner and his friends fired spitballs non-stop at him as many cheered and laughed. After school, they stole his school bag and he ended up in the football field and the football team rumbled during practice and he got rammed and trampled. Kinner and his peers laughed out loud at this and to add in more humiliation, Lunky threw his school bag away and it flew really far.
After that, Kappei spent hours looking for his school bag and fortunately, another ninja guard found it because the bag thrown away by the bullies hit him on his legs while on guard duty.
And just like yesterday night, he skipped dinner and cried to himself in the showers making Gumchi more worried about him.
Finally on Friday...
"Kap. You gotta do something! You can't get pushed around by those bullies!" Archie told him. "Their tormenting is also going overboard."
"Yeah man! Just tell any of the senseis and they'll deal with them!" Cruz spoke up.
"Please...shut up..." Kappei groaned in irritation as he slowly drank his cream of chicken and ate one of the 3 buns he had with his stew. Emma had worried look on her face and it's troubling in her mind.
"This is not looking good. This morning, the 4 bullies ambushed him outside the school gate with water balloons and escaped using the ninja arts. Several minutes later at the hallway, they dumped a trash can of icky trash on his entire body followed by a single, painful wedgie from Kinner. When will these incompetent barbarians learn?" Jeong wondered as he bit into his sandwich.
All of a sudden, "Well, well, well, if it isn't the phony ninja hanging out with his classmates." Kinner and his gang showed up as Frenk started off by grabbing Kappei's soda and emptying out the drink on the floor. "Sticky!"
"Nice one man!" Lunky fist bump Frenk as he grabbed Kappei's remaining buns and ate them.
"Say, why are you guys hanging out with this loser? He's not a real ninja. He's a phony because he has no awakened power." Kinner spoke to the others.
"With respect, leave us be so that we can enjoy our lunch and most importantly, stop harassing our friend and making that stupid claim that he has no awakened power." Jeong requested.
However, Kinner grabbed Jeong and head bashed him! "OW!" He felt that as, "Are you dumb or stupid? It's no use defending this useless trash who has no power!" Kinner told him but finally, "I've had enough of this!"
Clenching his fists, Kappei stood up and, "POW! POW! POW! POW!"
4 face punches sent them onto the ground and everyone gasped at this. "HOW DARE YOU STRIKE US!" Frenk yelled as they got up and marched to Kappei to teach him a lesson but, "HALT!"
Kinner took the initiative to deal with this situation as he approached Kappei with a menacing glare. "You've just made a grave mistake in attacking your seniors. I'll beat you to a bloody pulp now but that can wait. After school, meet me and my bros at the football field. Get ready to live your life out because today is your last day here on earth. There will be blood and you're gonna wish that you were never born. Oh, if you fail to meet me and my boys, we'll make your life a living hell forever. You got that?"
Kappei just glared at him with a nod and went back to drinking his stew as, "He accepts it. Get ready boys for later. We're gonna school this phony!" Kinner told them and they got the message.
Back to the group, "You never should have done that." Jeong told him as he wiped some blood from his nose.
"Yeah. You're in serious trouble now and they're gonna show no mercy." said Archie as he ate a meatball.
"So be it." Kappei replied surprising them. "I did it because I don't want my friends to get pwned by their hands. Let them try. I'll find a way out of this mess during the big fight after school. No matter what happens, I'll solve my own problem with my own hands."
There was only silence throughout the rest of the lunch break.
So it seems Kappei is in serious trouble and it might be dirty and ugly after school. What will happen to him now and how will be deal with this? Will he also awaken the power soon? And I know this chapter is sort of short but I've saved the best for the next chapter! It's gonna be one word...

A student of Class 1-A, Cruz has a passion for football and has played the sport at a young age while living in Brazil. He attends the WNA Academy in his home country and did some ninja training and more football during his free time.
After graduating, he continued his football passion until he received his letter about his enrolment in the Advanced WNA High in Koemrika. Between those, he awakened his power. Currently, he joined the football club with 2 other students from Class 1-A, Hank and Kurt.
Awakened Power: X-ray Vision
Cruz's awakened power enables him to see through the interior of any object or building and anything inaccessible. When it comes to attacking enemy strongholds, this power comes in handy to scan for enemy movement and numbers and find entry points that are hidden. When it comes to finding hidden items in any area, a single x-ray sighting can expose it's location. There are a number of other uses in this power too but too many to count.
