Chapter 12: Mending a Bridge
"Why did you buy the movie tickets for A Haunting in Venice for this Saturday?!"
"Why did you buy the movie tickets for Five Nights At Freddy's for this Sunday?!"
In the classroom, Miyumi and Midori are in a heated argument and being the only 2 in class, the rest have yet to arrive. Oh wait, the door opened and Emma showed up to see them in the midst of their argument now. "Hey what's going on?" She called out as both girls took notice of her.
"We're planning to watch a movie with a few other girls this weekend but Midori bought tickets on the wrong day which is Sunday!"
"That's not true! We're all planning to go on Sunday but the problem is that Miyumi bought the tickets on Saturday which is the wrong day!"
The 2 girls then continued arguing as the door opened and Ting Ting and Lucia showed up. "Huh...I didn't expect them to argue today. Did something happen regarding the movie tickets since the 4 of us are planning to hit the cinemas this coming weekend?" Lucia whispered.
"Beats me. But we know they've been friends from young till now, through thick and thin." Ting Ting whispered back.
"I heard everything." Emma called out and they gasped.
"Oh yes...her hearing...it's really powerful to be ranked unique..." Ting Ting exclaimed as the girls went to take their seats. Emma went to her seat, placed her schoolbag and went to Ting Ting and Lucia who are seated together.
"Tell me something, Miyumi and Midori know each other?" Emma asked.
"Yeah. They were both from the Kyoto region in Oedo and became friends in preschool. They even joined the academy together and it was said that they both made a formidable team during their time there." Lucia revealed.
"Wow...and now, it appears the bridge between them is starting to collapse." Emma pointed as the 2 girls after arguing walked away in disgust. And even though they sat together, they looked away refusing to interact.
"Okay...looks like we need to fix this before the weekend." Ting Ting told Lucia and she nodded in agreement. "I can help." Emma volunteered and they're most surprised by her move.
After school...
The 3 girls are seen hanging around the hallway as they chat with one another. "You were a pop idol in Taiwan?!" Emma asked.
"I'm not just a pop idol. I'm a ninja pop idol performing onstage singing for my fans while training during my free time and being a vigilante." Ting Ting told her.
"Awesome! And as for you, you're a flamenco dancer in Spain?" Emma asked.
"Something like that. Though I was also trained in the way of the shinobi." Lucia replied.
"This is so cool! Turns out I'm not the only ninja performer in this class!" Emma thought beaming with more excitement when she saw Kappei passing by. They gave each a quick smile and wave and, "Ooh. I'm starting to see something interesting." said Lucia.
"Hee! Hee! I wonder what it'll be like to date him?" Ting Ting asked and it stunned Emma making her frown about it. But what she never knew was that it was joke to tease her.
"Anyway, through your hearing, the 2 girls are planning something after school tomorrow?" Lucia asked.
"Miyumi's going to the mall to buy a smoothie while Midori plans to visit a Cat Cafe." Emma answered.
"As expected, Midori has a soft spot for cats." Ting Ting revealed.
"Once in a while, Miyumi will buy a smoothie to treat herself." said Lucia. "So here's the plan. You check on Midori while we check on Miyumi."
"Sounds good. Better that they patch things up before the strain pulls them apart further." Emma replied in agreement.
So the next day after school...
"What do you do at the Cat Cafe Midori?"
"Pet some kittens or cats Emma. There's free petting and I'll probably drink some latte."
The 2 girls are heading there and it's walking distance from Malishido Megamall since most shops and creature comforts are in the city and good thing it's near downtown where the high school is located.
At the same time in the mall, "I'm surprised you girls wanted to tag along." Miyumi spoke to Ting Ting and Lucia. "We're just gonna check out some new clothes and stuff." Lucia replied.
"I see... well then, how about I tag along with you girls and we can have a smoothie together." Miyumi suggested.
"Hmmm...our plan has become easier..." Ting Ting thought as the 3 girls hang out together.
Meanwhile, "Oh my gosh. They're so cute and cuddly!" Emma is seen petting a kitten on the head as it meowed and licked her face. "Back then, Miyumi and I would find stray cats and kittens and try to feed them." Midori told her as she picked a kitten and pet it on the head as it meowed and rubbed itself on her cheeks.
"That's nice. You girls ever want to adopt at least one?" Emma asked as she picked a cat and kissed it.
"Nope. Both our parents didn't want pets in our houses so we just go out and take care of them if we have the time." Midori replied and sighed to herself. "I didn't want our friendship to end like this. I mean, we've been inseparable for a long time until this has to happen."
"What actually happened? Must have been some miscommunication or something." Emma guessed as she picked another kitten and cuddled with it. "Probably. Ting Ting asked us to buy movie tickets for the weekend and I have a feeling we must have screwed up on our parts resulting in the blame game against each other."
"I see...wait, Ting Ting, Lucia, Miyumi and you are watching a movie?" Emma asked.
"That's right! Nichelle even got the idea of forming a small group consisting of us, pigtailed girls." Midori replied as she kissed a cat on her head and picked another to kiss it on his head.
"Interesting..." Emma thought as she felt 2 cats rubbing on her legs as she pet them on the head.
10 minutes later and after having a cup of latte, the 2 girls left the pet store and, "Oh look! An ice cream truck! Let's get something cold and sweet! My treat!" Midori told Emma as they went to the truck. There, Midori bought for herself a mint chocolate chip ice cream on a cone and a strawberry ice cream on a cone for Emma. 2 scoops each as they girls mingled together. "Come to think of it, how is the other group doing?" Emma thought as she licked her ice cream.
It now cuts to the 3 girls leaving the mall and each of them have a smoothie on hand. "Mmmm...these fruit smoothies are nice. Once in a while is okay." Lucia sipped her smoothie which is pineapple flavour. They're also walking on the streets.
"Damn! This is my first trying a smoothie and literally, I feel smooth." Ting Ting described and sipped her multi berry flavoured smoothie.
"Glad you girls like it. Ah...Midori and I often go out to have a drink like this. I wish this never happened yesterday..." Miyumi exclaimed as she sipped her watermelon flavoured smoothie. "What should I do about it."
"It was miscom right? In fact, I should have given proper instructions when I tasked the 2 of you." Ting Ting exclaimed.
"Then it's best that you and Midori patch things up as fast as you can." Lucia suggested.
"Yeah...I should do that." Miyumi took out her phone but when she began texting, "PSH! PSH!"
"What was that?" She then noticed that her friends have vanished. "Oh no...I got a bad feeling about this..." She hurried to send a text message but, "PSH!"
"The Expelled will not do as you please!" A member who appeared to have the Vanish awakened power made his move and abducted her.
An hour later...
"Ugh...where am I?" She woke up to see Ting Ting and Lucia waking up also. And then, "Are we in a lair..."
Correct. In some abandoned warehouse, there are 10 Expelled gang members hanging around. "Nice job abducting those fools." A female spoke to the one who did the job earlier.
"Hey look. The chicks are awake." One of them noticed as he and 2 of his bros activated their powers as all 3 of them transformed their right arms into Cone-Shaped Blades. They held the chicks as, "Keep them like this." The female member ordered as she checked on another male member who's typing something on the keyboard and glued to the computer.
"Just need to do some converting and soon enough, the credits become cash stored into those stolen credit cards that we stole from the public." He told her.
"So they want to steal our credits, convert them into money and store them in those stolen credit cards stolen from ordinary people..." Miyumi realized as, "Oh Midori my best friend...please come and save us..."
As the Expelled waited on, a knocking sound was heard. "Who's there?" Another female Expelled member asked as she encased her hands and lower arms in ice with another female member encasing her hands and lower arms in metal.
As the 2 Expelled members approached the door with Ice Hands and Metal Hands ready, "Whoever is at our door is gonna get smashed by us." said the one with the ice hands.
But instead, this happened. "YAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
A powerful hypersonic blast pushed the door opened and, "BAM!" The 2 female members were slammed by it as, "Miyumi! Hope we're not too late!"
"Midori! Emma!" She exclaimed as Ting Ting and Lucia were glad.
"Impossible...how did you find us?" The one at the computer asked.
"Took us a while and my hearing paid off." Emma replied as the Expelled took action. A male member transformed into a Minotaur and charged at Emma but Midori stepped in and screamed out her vocal blast causing him to halt and cover his ears. When she cancels it, Emma charged and danced through delivering a kick on his face. "You guys are next!" She called out to the 3 Expelled members still holding her friends hostage as she jumped up and stepped on their faces knocking them down. "Good. Let's take them down ninja style!" Ting Ting kicked the minotaur and Lucia grabbed the blade and is encased completely in metal. "Heavy metal coming through!"
"Curses! Kill those kids!" The female member then fired a Toxic Bile from her mouth as it hit the ground melting a portion of it. Lucia charged and dodged a few more toxic biles and once near, "KSH!"
"Too easy...like as if they have glass jaws." Lucia described when, "Screw you!" The one at the computer transformed his left arm into a Missile Launcher and fired a missile. "IOOM!"
"Oof!" Lucia is still alive but the explosion knocked her hard bruising her as her metal coat wore off.
As the fighting continues on, Midori just punched an Expelled member who's awakened power enables him to Rage out and attack ferocious speed and power as he struck Midori and threw her onto the wall. "No one hurts my best friend!" Miyumi charged and phased through him and once behind, "KSH!"
"Right on the nuts!" Ting Ting described as she and Emma finished off the rest of the Expelled members including the one that did the abductions from just now he vanished and reappeared behind Emma but Ting Ting saw him and with a second, she picked up a brick and threw it on his head defeating him. Miyumi then phased through the missile launcher member and punched him on the back of his head defeating him.
"Alright they're all down. Everyone okay?" Emma asked when, "Lucia!" The girls noticed her feeling bruised from the missile attack. "I got this." Ting Ting created a red heart and it went to Lucia and absorbed itself into her body. In an instant, all her bruises are completely gone and she's fully healed. "Thanks Ting Ting."
"You're welcome." She replied and, "We better get out of here. I called the cops before the break in to do their job." Emma told the girls as they made haste and left the warehouse right after those taken hostage reclaimed their belongings
At the same time, the same hooded figure was seen observing all this from a distance and left when the police have arrived.
Back at school...
Outside the girl's dorm, "Good thing we all made it back in one piece." Emma stated.
"Yeah...those Expelled punks are becoming more dangerous!" said Midori as she and Miyumi faced other for a moment.
"I'm sorry!" They apologized to each other and shared a happy hug. Emma, Lucia and Ting Ting are pleased to see the patching up.
"So what do we do about the movie tickets?" Miyumi asked.
"Maybe I should ask for a swap to another day." Midori suggested as she took out the movie tickets when Emma noticed something. "Can I take a look?"
"For what?" She asked as Emma snatched the tickets and examined them. "Huh...those tickets you bought for FNAF are not for this Sunday! It's next Sunday!"
"What? But I thought I told the person at the counter that I want to buy them for this Sunday..." Midori recalled.
"Might be a blessing in disguise." Ting Ting assumed and then, they laughed about it.
"I guess Saturday movie night is on tomorrow!" Miyumi cheered. "And Emma, you're invited to join us!"
"Yeah girl! You at least helped out so it's best that we return the favour!" said Lucia as the 5 girls laughed together and went inside the dorms. By now, it's dinner time and everyone can rest for the weekend.
As Emma bonds with her classmates more, she builds more bridges improving on her social life. Even so, a few are beginning to notice her growing crush.
Unexpectedly, the Expelled has both male and female members and they're getting more dangerous. Is something going on with them?

Profiles
These 2 pigtailed gals are a fun duo to hang out and they're a formidable team for the class. Yup, teamwork is an aspect for the ninjas to value when carrying out missions together and they're a prime example in their skills as a team.
The 2 girls are from Kyoto and have known each other for a long time. As stated, they attended the academy and are enrolled in the high school together. Miyumi has a knack fo fruit smoothies and Midori has a soft spot for felines.
Awakened Powers: Phasing and Hyper Voice
Miyumi's awakened power enables her to phase through obstacles and bypass enemy attacks. She can even phase through walls to move to another location or partially phase her face through the walls to quickly scout ahead without being seen. When fighting, she can phase through her enemies flanking them from behind to do some takedowns.
Midori's awakened power allows her to scream out a hypersonic vocal blast from her mouth. It's powerful enough to push back anything caught in her vocal range and shatter glass. It also serves as an emergency signal especially when in need for backup, she can look up and scream out her voice loud enough to alert her friends and allies.
