Chapter 14: High School Halloween Party!

"And...done!" Kappei checked himself in the mirror for he just put on his Halloween costume. "I'm dressed as a zombie ninja with grey face paint."

"Cand-ee! Cand-ee!" Gumchi is asking for candy so, "Sure thing Gumchi. Just wait a while and when I get back from the party, we'll be devouring sweetness together." Kappei assured to him.

"Trick-ee or Treat-ee!" Gumchi added as Kappei pet him on the head and looking at the time, "Gotta go." Taking a weapon prop which is a worn and partially damaged katana, he left.

Outside the dorm, Kappei waited for his bros and they showed up. "Heh. I guess I'm not the only one going to the party in my Halloween costume mate."

"I can see that captain Davis." He replied for Davis is dressed as a pirate captain with an eye patch and a saber prop. Cruz, Archie and Jeong aren't wearing Halloween costumes but that doesn't matter as the 5 boys headed to the gymnasium where the party takes place.

Outside the school as they made their way, "Hey guys!"

Looking behind, "Whoa..." They looked behind to see Emma, Vega and Maeve meeting up with them. "Last time I saw her costume...it was during that one competiton..." Kappei thought for all 3 girls are dressed as carnival dancers. He did remember seeing it before years ago for it was simple with little decorations but this time, there are more decorations and each of them are wearing some tiara-like feather decoration on their heads. For the colours, Emma used the same colours as before, Vega has blue and green and Maeve has red and white. Plus, the designs are exactly the same as Emma's. (Episode 40)

"Looks like you ladies are going to some dancing onstage." Archie guessed.

"No. We're out of ideas on what to wear so we ask Emma and she got us these." Maeve told him.

"On the other hand..." Jeong gestured Cruz to Kappei who had a tint of red on his face at seeing Emma as they smirked about it.

"How do I look?" Emma asked him as she danced around a bit.

"Ummm...you look...um..." Kappei can't mince any words as, "He thinks you look feathery attractive." Davis answered as the boys snickered in agreement. "Uh you know what? Let's just go to the party!" Kappei went ahead hastily as the rest followed him.

School Gymnasium...

The doors opened as the 8 students went inside. "Dudes! That's some party!" Archie cheered as inside, students from all grades mingled and bonded. Some are getting the snacks and drinks, some complimented each other's costumes and others danced about and played some party games. A mixture of students with some dressing casually and others in their costumes.

"This is incredible!" Cruz exclaimed.

"Yeah! I'm gonna get a drink!" said Jeong as he and Davis went to the snack area.

And then, Emma's hearing took effect because for some reason, it involves a lot of attention.

"Dude, those 3 girls over there look smoking hot!"

"Yeah man! Especially the one with the pink and purple costume!"

"Oh my goodness! Those costumes look colourful!"

"I know right? How did they even work on those?"

"Hey Emma. You got something with that ear of yours?" Vega asked.

"A lot of students have noticed our costumes. Better keep your guard just in case some boys from the second and third years want to make some bold moves." She replied when, "Hey is that Anais over there?" Maeve pointed to their classmate who's at the turntable spinning records with a senior as they jammed with the music together.

"Damn. That girl's got talent. She always dreams of being a DJ." Vega exclaimed as the 3 girls hang around together.

At the snack area, "They sure are creative in the F&B." Jeong noticed as he used his power. "Yup. They got chocolate chip skull cookies, white bone candies, cupcakes with ghost white frosting, spider sliders, deep-fried batwings in the form of 2 chicken wings stuck together, some green pudding, spider web pasta with tomato sauce, jelly brains and so many more to help ourselves!"

"For the drinks, it's a bloody fruit punch mate! And literally it's bloody in colour!" Davis helped himself to a cup as, "How many cups have you drank?" Jeong asked.

"Lost count mate. 5 cups already I think?" Davis replied as he and Jeong took a cupcake when something zipped by and, "Eh? I thought I had one it my hand?" He asked as they blinked in confusion.

It cuts to Speedster holding the 2 cupcakes as he handed one to Lasher and they ate them. Dennis shook his head as he admired his magician costume with some people complimenting it.

Back to the girls, they met up with the pigtail gals. Both Miyumi and Midori are wearing cat costumes, Ting Ting is wearing a Halloween-style pop idol costume and Lucia is the only one dressed casually. "So you saw anyone else from our class?" Maeve asked.

"Nichelle, Chantelle and Colette are trying out some Halloween games and the other boys are just hanging around." Lucia answered.

"For the other boys, anyone of them is in a Halloween costume?" Vega asked.

"Harry is a mummy, Bull is a serial killer with a chainsaw prop, Dedrick is a mad scientist, Joey is wearing a spider costume and the rest just dressed casually." Miyumi answered.

As the girls hang around, one of the second year boys snuck quietly behind Emma and tried to make a move but suddenly, she grabbed his hand without looking and, "CRACK!"

Those fingers got crushed together and he didn't expect a strong grip as Emma turned and pushed him down. "Do that again and we won't show mercy." She warned him as the other girls glared at him.

"Crap...I better leave..." He thought as he hurried his way.

Meanwhile...

"I wonder where's Coral? I wonder what costume she's wearing?" Kappei looked around and soon enough, "There she is!"

She, along with Peggy, Jannie and Opal are all wearing playboy bunny costumes which are somewhat revealing. They consist of a black strapless corset teddies, high-heel boots, gloves, cottontail attachments which are located behind and bunny ear hair bands.

Lots of boys are excited and ogling at the same time including Kappei because he's looking at Coral's costume for very long when, "Yo Kap!"

"Huh?" He looked to see the other boys as, "Enjoying the view huh?" Davis asked.

"Um...I guess?" He replied as, "Well don't mind if we pipe in!" said Archie and soon enough, the 5 boys had a great view of the playboy bunny girls.

Speaking of girls, the 3 carnival dancers are trying out some of the games. First, they're at some small area where there are balls and cans. "Step right up and win a prize! 3 balls and 10 cans! Knock them all down and you win!" A male senior told them.

"Cool! I'll go!" Vega took a ball and observed the cans. She took aim and, "CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!"

"One shot and they tumble! Well done! Here's your prize!" The senior gave Vega a small gift box. "The prizes are randomized." He added as she opened it. "Cool! A bat hairclip!" Emma exclaimed as Vega wore it. "Hmmm...I don't look half-bad."

"My turn!" Maeve took a ball and first waited as the senior used his awaken power to lift up the cans and stack them back to their original positions.

"I call it, Gravity Manipulation." He told the girls as Maeve took aim. She then threw the ball but only hit 8 cans. Emma then went next and only hit 7.

"And here, the 2 of you get 2 chocolate bars each. For those that hit more than 6 pins in one shot." The senior handed the treats to them as, "The prizes aren't so bad." said Maeve as the girls left the game area.

Other games and thrilling activities featured in the party involve a memory game where students must flip over 12 cards containing monsters and must match 6 matches of the same 2 monster cards in the cards, a monster make-up booth for those not wearing costumes to have their faces painted with colours for the scaring if they feel like it, a shell game involving 3 cups and a ball for shuffling and guessing, a dart game for students to throw darts at balloons stuck on a wall booth and pop 5 balloons, a prize is awarded. There's also a photo booth for scary pictures and memories to treasure regarding bonds and friendships.

Later on...

"It's been an hour and the party's ending soon with a costume competition." Jeong stated.

"There are 30 students that participated in the competition and right now, Ting Ting is next!" Maeve pointed out as onstage, Ting Ting posed and did a bit of dancing as the crowd cheered for her. Emma even had her hearing active over some comments. For the judges, they consist of 3 students who are members of the student council.

"I've seen her performances! She's awesome!"

"I'd like to see her in a world tour one day! Maybe during summer break if she's planning it."

"I just got her autograph just now and wow! She really lives up to the idol professionalism!"

"She signed my Halloween costume! I'd never forget this moment!"

Just then, "Having fun students?"

"Is that you Coach Spruce?" Kappei asked as they turned around to see him dressed in a very unique and exclusive costume. He wore a white and blue full body combat suit with red combat gloves and boots and a helmet with an eyemask connected as when worn, his eyes and the lower part of his face is visible. He also carries a circular shield with the colours blue and white with a red star in the center.

"Cool costume! What are you dressed up as anyway?!" Archie asked.

"I'm Captain Komerika! The Super Soldier of the Universe!" He declared proudly as he did some action poses.

"Neat shield! I wanna hold it! Can I hold and admire it please? Pretty please?" Jeong requested as Coach Spruce handed it to him with a smile as he marveled at the equipment with dazzling eyes.

"Does that remind you of something?" Kappei whispered to Emma. "Yeah...the Pumpking." She recalled it a few years ago and they smiled about it as Jeong returned the shield back to Coach Spruce.

Some time later, the judges submitted the results to Coral and she announced the winners. 3rd place goes to Ting Ting, 2nd place goes to a male senior who's dressed up as a killer clown and first place goes to a female sophomore who's dressed up as a wicked ghost queen with dark, elegant robes and glow-in-the-dark face paint on her face and hands. She also has a weapon prop which is a royal scepter.

For the prizes, she's handed a large goodie bag, the senior who won second place got a medium-sized one and Ting Ting got a small one. Everyone applauded the 2 winners as Coral went onstage. "Having fun everyone?"

"YEAH!"

"Astounding! And with that, the party's over! Thank you all for coming and those wearing halloween costumes, great effort in working on them! Now when you exit the gym, my friends will hand all of you candy bags! Everyone gets one and once again, thank you for coming and goodnight!"

So with that, everyone began to leave the gymnasium and indeed, there are bags of candy being handed out to everyone. It sure was fun as many talked about it.

"That was some party!" Cruz told the group and they're last in line to get the bags.

"I drank too much punch...I might sleep once I hit my room..." said Davis as he stifled a yawn.

The ones handing out the candy bags are Peggy, Jannie and Opal and now, the group is next as the girls thanked them for coming and handed each of them a bag but when Kappei is next, "Coral has a message for you. She has a few extra bags left so here, we're giving you 2." Opal told him and he soon has 2 bags of candy. "Sweet! No pun intended." He replied as they laughed together.

Outside, "Why do you have 2 bags of candy?" Archie asked.

"Oh...I just asked because they have a few extras left." Kappei replied and also, "Good thing I remembered the little guy." He thought as the group split up and headed back to their respective dorms.

Back at the dorm room...

"Here you go Gumchi!" Kappei handed him a bag of candy as the yellow ET gum cheered.

"CAN-DEE! CAN-DEE!" He emptied the bag to see various sweets and confectionaries as he unwrapped a piece of candy and ate it. "Suga-ree! Suga-ree!"

"You like them don't you?" Kappei asked with a smile as Gumchi unwrapped a chocolate bar and ate the whole thing.

"Well let's get treating!" So he emptied out his bag and the duo began chomping on all the candy together as buddies.

It's been a long time since I wrote a halloween chapter like this. And it appears I still got game on this one. Even including a Marvel reference because I'm a fan of Marvel and also a fan of DC.

Alright, next chapter features Gumchi! What will our little yellow gum friend do? You'll find out soon enough...
