Chapter 21: Beginning of the Second Term

Christmas break was enjoyable and we even celebrated the New Year together. Those kids are really nice and I get to know more about Emma's life before we met a the academy. Now we're back at high school ready for the second term which will lead to the end of the semester and once done, Summer vacation is on!

The scene shifts to Kappei arriving at the classroom as he entered in. "Hey Kap!"

"What's up Kap!"

"Yo Kap how you doing!"

"Good to see you Kap!"

"Nice cap! Kap! Ha! Ha! Ha! I made an amusing pun!"

"Sleek cap Kap! Ahahaha!"

Friendly and jokeful greetings from his peers as he sat on his desk with Gumchi coming out of his school bag. "Hi! Hi!"

"Hi Gumchi! I got you some lollipops!" Vega went to give him a small bundle containing 6 sticks of lollipops as he cheered over it.

"Got you some chocolate!" Maeve handed him 10 bars of chocolate as he cheered some more.

"I have a bag of cookies and you'll love them Gumchi!" Midori placed a bag of cookies in front of him and he's in seventh heaven.

"Gosh. All the girls love Gumchi. He's too cute to be ignored." Kappei thought as the door opened and Emma showed up. "Hi guys!"

All greeted her back when, "Oh my gosh! Are those diamond earrings?" Nichelle asked.

"They are! And she looks perfect in them!" said Colette.

"Wow! You look more beautiful in those accessories!" said Miyumi as some of the girls gathered before Emma complimenting her earrings.

"Now I've seen everything from the day I helped Kappei buy the Christmas gift..." Chantelle thought with a smile. Further from her position, "Hey Bull. Chantelle's hot isn't she?"

"You've told me that like the third time already. Go and ask her out Harry."

"I wish I could but I don't know how it'll turn out." Harry replied as Bull sighed to himself and started practicing his push-ups.

School day begins...

"Welcome back class. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year break." Sensei Tatsu greeted the class. "Now the second term begins and yes, the moment you all have been waiting for, the Ninjala Tournament."

Everyone cheered in excitement for a few seconds and once it's done, "But before that, we also have a Sports Festival taking place on March and because of these 2 events, you'll have more PE and ninja training."

"What about our theory lessons?" Jeong asked.

"There will be a few only for recap and revision." Sensei Tatsu replied. "In fact, all your schools for this term will half days."

Everyone cheered some more for several seconds and even Gumchi is jumping for joy.

"Alright! Alright settle down!" The teacher ordered as the noise died down. "Much better. Now firstly, you have a couple of sporting events in the Sports Festival." He then opened his laptop, pressed a switch on the wall and a projector appeared above and connected to his device. It then shows the events on the whiteboard via projection.

1. 100 meter dash
2. 200 meter dash
3. Hurdles
4. Tug-of-War
5. 3-Legged Race
6. Ball Toss
7. Scavenger Hunt
8. Class Relay

"8 events in one day..." Cruz read through.

"Now here's the participation list that I will hand over to the class rep." Sensei Tatsu had Gumchi pass it to Kappei. "Discuss with him on which events you want to participate and submit it to me by Friday."

All got the message as, "Now I shall explain the Ninjala Tournament. It will start on 1st April and will end on 9th April and after that, there'll be a homecoming dance on Friday which is 19th April followed by your summer vacation."

This made the whole class hyped as, "A homecoming dance? Wow..." Emma already had something in mind as she took a glanced at Kappei and smiled dreamily. Already, Shane and Dedrick took notice of it with surprised eyes since they're seated behind them.

Continuing, "The tournament will have 3 stages. Preliminary Stage, Elite Stage and Finale Stage. In the preliminary stage, there are 20 blocks and each will have 15 students from the 10 classes fighting each other and only one will be the winner to advance to the next stage. The 20 students from the 20 blocks will advance to the Elite Stage. There, they'll be pitted against each other for a one-on-one battle. 10 battles in total and the remaining 10 will be at the Finale Stage. It is there that it's an all out battle and the one that remains standing will officially be the Ninjala Champion and will win 10000 credits. In addition, the class that he or she belongs to, the other students in it will earn 5000 credits each."

Everyone cheered over the rewards as, "Any questions?" Sensei Tatsu asked.

"What are the rules in the Ninjala Tournament?" Vega asked.

"Thanks for bringing that up Vega. In the tournament, you will use your weapons and awakened powers to clash with one another. If you're defeated and unable to battle, you're out of the count. The main weapon you'll use will be Iaitos. Metal katanas without a sharp, cutting edge. The tournament will also be held on the football field. There, the arena will be established. It's similar to the ones in the WNA Academies though there'll be obstacles around you. You can use them in conjunction with your powers or as cover to hide and strike when the timing is right. Thee is also a time limit. 5 minutes to secure yourself a solo win. Understand?" Sensei Tatsu answered and asked.

All nodded as, "Anymore questions?" No response so, "Then just wait until your next lesson." He packed his stuff and left the classroom.

"Wow! 2 events with a chance to win a lot of credits!" Kappei told Emma.

"I know right? It's like back at the academy!" She replied and they had a few flashbacks about the tournaments in the academy.

Just then, the door opened and, "So...this is Class 1-A isn't it?"

From the door, a fair-skinned boy with dark blue hair with the sides swiped up and out made his appearance. He wore a white yukata and a black hakama with pockets that reaches to his knees, a navy blue leather belt, sky blue wrist bands and shoes with high soles.

"Hey who are you and what are you doing here?" Bull asked as he, Harry, Shane, Kolton and Avitus stood up.

"Firstly, I come in peace. Secondly, my name is Ryotarou and I've come to only scout the competition regarding the Ninjala Tournament." He replied.

"And to also prove that Class 1-B is superior to Class 1-A! HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Draco! Zip it!" The boy ordered because behind him, a fair-skinned boy with sleek, white-blonde hair appeared as he sneered at them mockingly.

"That guy creeps me out." Anais whispered to Colette and she nodded in agreement.

"I apologize because Draco tends to lose control over his pride and arrogance." Ryotarou apologized. "He's also the vice representative of our class that he mentioned. As for me, I'm the class representative." After that, he whipped out a ritual fan and looked around when, "I sense...ancient power...in you!" He then closed his fan and pointed it out at Kappei.

"Uh... are you looking at me or something?" He asked.

"Obviously. You're Kappei are you? The one with the Ancient-Ranked Awakened Power is it not?" Ryotarou asked.

"Uh...yeah?"

"WHAT? Ancient-ranked? How the frick is this possible?!" Draco exclaimed in shock as the 2 students entered the classroom with another 3 fair-skinned boys behind them.

The first one has blonde afro and wears a Scarlett and amethyst purple long coat zipped up with pockets, black pants with pockets, black and dark grey shoes and black fingerless gloves. The most notable feature is that he wears a red, polarized sport sunglasses over his eyes and is sucking on a lollipop.

The second one has messy sea green hair and wears a dirty green long-sleeved shirt, pale blue pants and dark brown running shoes.

And the last one has black hair with green highlights and wears a light grey T-shirt with a brown jacket that has a high collar and dark blue jeans and...he looks familiar because once he saw Kappei and Emma, "Wait...I remember you two!"

And likewise, they recognize him, "ALEC?!"

"Ha! Ha! It's been a while!" He greeted them as, "How are you here in Advanced WNA High? I thought you-"

"It's a long story Kappei but we'll talk after school." Alec told them as Ryotarou continued on. "Agreed. For I too should talk with you and her. We meet at the cafeteria for lunch together."

"Me also?" Emma asked when, "Ryotarou! We're suppose to scout and find any small fries easy enough to take out during the tournament not make friends with enemies like those third rate ninjas!" Draco told him.

"Third rate? How dare you insult us!" Chantelle created 2 ice crystals, Bull morphed his arms into energy hammer constructs, Harry generated energy on his arms, Avitus ignited himself with his blue flames as more Class 1-A students readied their awakened powers.

"Stand down!" Kappei ordered as, "Stan-dee! Dow-nee!" Gumchi also ordered as, "A monster!" Draco exclaimed in shock and Gumchi in response drew his shinai and, "WHACK!"

"OW! I'll sue you one day you monster!" Draco threatened as, "Tobias, Kanisuke, take him back to class." Ryotarou ordered as the 2 students dragged a complaining Draco away.

"Like what my friend said, we'll talk after school." Ryotarou closed up his ritual fan and he and Alec left the classroom.

"What just happened between you and that student mate?" Davis asked.

"He knows about my ranking despite meeting me for the first time." Kappei replied. "Is he telepathic?"

"Who knows?" Emma replied. "But more importantly, how was Alec able to be enrolled in a ninja high school like this?"

"Yeah...he went to art school back then during our first meeting with him. I guess during lunchtime with him and Ryotarou, we'll find out from him." Kappei stated to her as Mrs Dean arrived to teach some English and pet Gumchi on the head finding him cute. "Oh right. The female teachers teaching our class adore him also." Ting Ting thought and the lesson begins.

And after 2 more lessons which are physics and biology, school day is over since it's half day and it's time for Kappei and Emma to meet up with Ryotarou and Alec for lunch and to talk more about certain topics.

Starting from this chapter, a couple of students from Class 1-B are introduced and one of the students is a returning character!

Never thought the day would come when Kappei and Emma meet him again after a few years. And the answers they're seeking will be revealed to them in the next chapter.

And that also includes the whole class being briefed about a few events expected to take place on their second term. It's gonna be more fun than the last one! Oh yeah!

Profile

Kappei described their friendship as a remembrance reminding him of Dan and Tyler. In fact, they met when they were young. For Bull was from Tongo and moved to Oedo at a young age. In elementary school, he has difficulty socializing due to his large and buff body frame. It was then that Harry befriended him and treated him like a real friend. Because of this, Bull vowed to stay by his side and they became a formidable duo.

Their strong bond took them to the next level in the WNA Academy and it went further for them to get enrolled into Advanced WNA High in USK. In terms of interests, they train at the gym during the weekends and practice close combat with each other.

Also, Harry has crush on Chantelle and Bull would act as a coach sometimes to train him to go the extra mile. He is also obvious about his friend's crush.

Awakened Powers: Energy Wave and Hammer Arm

Harry can generate energy on his arms and send them away into waves. They can hit opponents hard and sliced inorganic targets into half such as furniture, walls and pillars.

Bull can transform his arms into hammer constructs made out of pure energy. They pack a punch enough to hammer down his opponents via smashs and slams and deliver heavy swings, powerful enough to demolish structures and send anything flying aside or away.
