Chapter 27: The Ninjala Tournament Preliminary Stage! (Part 2)
On Tuesday...
In Class 1-B, "Hmmm...I'm in Block 8."
"Indeed Alec. Your true test will soon begin." Ryotarou told him.
"Don't sweat it. Just survive and prove to your opponents that our class is the strongest." Draco advised him modestly.
"To think I lost to a girl who can hear my shots so well..." Tobias spoke to Kanisuke.
"She even used me as cannon fodder for your shot." He replied. "I also understand the definition of, 'friendly fire'."
"Whatever." Tobias replied as he summoned his sniper rifle to do some tinkering.
"Block 5 is about to start." Orion pointed out and they can see the ninjas charge and fight each other. From Class 1-A, Colette and Nichelle are in the block and they made a decent move taking out a ninja each off the competition.
Their classmate Masai along with another classmate of theirs named, Davian is in the fight as they used their respective awakened powers. Masai morphed his left arm into some Arm Cannon as it fired cannonballs. Each of them deal explosive damage enough to blow up some of the obstacles and deal knockback damage on some students. Davian on the other hand is seen firing lasers from his eyes as they cut a portion of the wall apart.
"No kidding. His Optic Blast is powerful!" Nichelle thought as she morphed into her lioness form and pounced on a male student pinning him down. However, he responded by breathing fire and she was forced to leap out of the way allowing him to stand up. "If you can't take the heat from my Fire Breath, you'll end up being a barbequed lioness." He told her with smug.
"Thanks for the reminder." She replied as he breathe out more fire but she dashed around flanking him from behind and swiped him out of the arena easily.
"Bernard of Class 1-D is out of the arena!" Coach Spruce announced as back there, Colette engaged a male student in battle as they delivered powerful sword strikes on each other though they also blocked them all.
"Hey hotshot. Wanna go out with me after this fight?"
"No way!" Colette then touched his ninja outfit and, "POOF!"
"What the?! Why am I wearing a maid's outfit?! What did you do?!" He demanded to know but was ignored as Colette punched his face and struck him hard. He ended up stumbling around and fell off the arena thus out of the tournament and still wearing the maid outfit. "Don't worry, after the fight, I'll change it back!" She called out as she engaged another student.
The battle goes on but in the end, a student from Class 1-K won the round.
Block 6 is ongoing and Marcel is solo for this one. Morphing his fingers into gun muzzles, he was able to fire a volley of bullets destroying all the obstacles levitated by a female student who has Telekinesis as her awakened power. After that, he ran for cover because 2 students with Autocannon Arm awakened powers had him pinned and suppresses as their weapons also fired bullets.
However, a female student from Class 1-H unleashed her Electrokinesis and struck the entire arena zapping everybody and they all fell unconscious. "This is crazy but in the end, Nanami of Class 1-H wins this block!" Coach Spruce announced.
And finally, Block 7 is unexpected because a large and buff student from Class 1-G morphed his right arm into some Gatling Cannon and blitzed the arena with lasers shooting 10 opponents out of the arena before they can even make a move. Dedrick survived thanks to his portals and likewise, Vega in her mouse form.
5 opponents left as the large student engaged the other 2 and they both have arm blades activated. However due to his size, he knocked them out swiftly. Dedrick then created his 2 portals to go in and out while attacking him. "Now where will you come out next..." He wondered when he felt a mouse scurrying in his ninja outfit.
"What the? Get off me you..." He started searching himself as Bega continued scurrying until, "Gotcha!" Grabbing the mouse, he took a closer look at it and, "HAAAAAH..."
In an instant, the mouse broke free but fell onto the arena floor twitching as it morphed back to human form. "Gross...did he brush his teeth before the tournament or what? Ugh!" Vega grossed out as he laughed at her, picked her up and threw her out of the arena.
Dedrick is the only one left as he blinked once for a portal to appear behind the large student and another above him. However, "I've observed that trick just now. So thank you for letting me analyze your moves." He pointed his cannon at the portal above him and fired lasers while jumping away.
"Crap! He's using my power to his advantage!" Dedrick realized as from the first portal he created, the lasers came out and shot him down and out.
"Gunner of Class 1-G wins the round!" Coach Spruce announced as in class, "The time has come..." Alec thought and he left for his match.
At the arena...
"Welcome to the Ninjala Tournament! We will now commence Block 8!" Coach Spruce announced as it cuts to the arena with the 15 participants in their assigned starting points.
"We see prominent ninjas out there! There's the Ninja Ice Queen, Chantelle of Class 1-A!" And she's seen with a serious expression. Ice cold baby, she sure is fearless. "We also have the Ninja Artist, Alec of Class 1-B!" Coach Spruce commentated and he's a bit nervous but still, knows what to do.
"Now if nothing else, ninjas! Draw your blades!" They drew their Iaitos.
"Ready...BATTLE!"
Wasting no time, Chantelle created an ice crystal on her hand and fired it at a male student charging towards her with his Iaito drawn. He got hit by it and froze into a block of ice. She then charged and slashed the block of ice easily along with the student frozen inside and delivered another 2 slashes followed by a front kick eliminating out of the arena.
"Eduardo of Class 1-C is out! As expected, the Ninja Ice Queen is ruthless and serious in battle!" Coach Spruce commentated.
"She's no joke..." Alec thought and blocked an attack from a female student and they began clashing. Her hair suddenly moved on it's own and attempted to attack him. "Yikes! What is that?"
"You ever heard of Hair Control?" She asked and literally, she's controlling her hair as some strands stick together and extend out for a whip attack. He got his weapon grabbed and pulled towards her as she delivered a left hook. "KSH!"
He fell on the ground feeling the impact of the hook as he jumped up and got into a defensive stance. Smiling, she controlled her hair as about 5 whips are formed through her hair and they extended out for another attack. They grabbed his Iaito as he felt himself being pulled towards her again. "If only the Iaitos have a cutting edge, I can cut her hair off freeing my weapon from it's grasp..." Alec thought and another hook took effect and he was disarmed. "Too bad we can only strike each other as to prevent lethal kills." He then picked his weapon up as she charged and sent her hair whips to attack him. "Not again..." He thought and they grabbed his weapon and this time, he attempted to pull it away. "Hey! Watch the hair!" She called out when feeling the pull.
"Wait...I got it!" Alec pulled some more. "OW! I told you to-" She then realized it but too late. With enough strength, Alec pulled her hard and towards him and struck her once near. He then fired 2 colour rays at her face and as she looked around. "Weird...I can only see the colours, red and green...is your hair red?"
"Wrong answer!" Using her colour blindness to his advantage, Alec struck her a few times and finished her off with a powerful strike enough to knock her out of the arena.
"Lizzy of Class 1-E is eliminated! A minute had passed and only 2 students remain in this one!" Coach Spruce announced.
"What? How did the others get booted-" Alec then looked around to see many pieces of ice all over the arena and, "You're all that's left I see." Chantelle emerged unharmed for she totally wiped out the rest of the competition with her power and attacks.
"That can't be good..." Alec thought as he got into his fighting stance. Chantelle just formed an ice crystal and shot it out! Alec ducked as it lightly touched his hair frosting some of his strands and it hit a wall forming an iceberg.
Chantelle then sheathed her Iaito and fired ice crystals with both hands as Alec dodged, jumped and rolled around the arena to save his own skin from becoming a popsicle.
"There's no escape from the ice age!" She called out and created 2 ice crystals and merged them into a big one! "That's right, I've upped my game in my power. Cluster Crystal!" She launched the big crystal and even though Alec dodged it, it hit one of the towering platforms and scattered more ice crystals freezing up into icebergs!
"The battle arena is full of icebergs formed from the crystals! Oh man Chantelle's bringing in the winter season! Will she emerge victorious? Will Alec find an opening for a counterattack? 3 minutes left as the timer ticks and tocks on!" Coach Spruce commentated.
Back there, Alec hid behind one of the icebergs and unknowingly coloured it purple. "My bad." But then he looked closely at it. "I got it!"
It then cuts to class as, "What the...some of the icebergs are being coloured into various colours." Masumi observed.
"He has a plan..." Ryotarou as he continued observation.
Back at the arena, "Where did he go? He better not hide like a coward!" Chantelle thought and then, "Wait..." She's seeing it. Yes, many icebergs coloured into various colours and more are being coloured until, "I got you now!"
Alec jumped from an iceberg and kicked her from behind. "KSH!"
She fell on the ground and got up after a second. "What are you trying to pull here?"
"This!" He fired 10 colour rays from all his 10 fingers hitting her face as he eyes felt extremely distorted as, "Ugh...I'm feeling dizzy and my eyes are being strained...too many colours...ugh...I'm losing focus!"
"The colour blindness is too great for you to handle." Alec told her and he ended the fight with a dropkick. It was powerful enough to send Chantelle crashing through the icebergs and out of the arena.
"Chantelle of Class 1-A is out! And with that, Alec of Class 1-B is the winner for Block 8!" Coach Spruce announced and in class, "Amazing! Alec won!" Davian cheered.
"Damn! He nailed the fight big time!" Draco added as an impressed Ryotarou smiled as he fanned himself with his ritual fan.
As for Alec, "No way...I won!" He then drew out his Iaito and raised it in the air as a sign of victory as Coach Spruce and the 2 senseis applauded him for his efforts.
Aftermath...
In class, the female sensei from yesterday came to check on Class 1-B for she's the homeroom teacher. "I'm pleased to see your progress Alec, you've improved so much that you've become a true ninja."
"Thank you Sensei Tomoko." Alec thanked her as, "All the training I gave you really paid off. Well done." Ryotarou praised him.
"See? We all knew you can do it!" Draco added.
"Ha! Ha! You're even the first in our class to make it to the elite stage!" Kitou added.
Everyone agreed and cheered for Alec as he smiled. "If only you're here dad...you would have witnessed my achievement. One thing's for sure, I have finally mastered the way of the shinobi..." He thought as the whole class decided to have a class celebration with pizzas and sodas under Draco's suggestion.
Alec has truly embraced the way of the shinobi and being able to make it to the Elite Stage is something.
8 blocks are finished and 12 more to go! And in the next chapter, back to Class 1-A.

Profile
A student from Class 1-B, Tobias is known as the Ninja Sniper due to his mastery in shooting his targets with pinpoint accuracy thanks to his awakened power. He claims to never miss his shots but that was flawed during the first block because Emma was able to hear clearly on where he fires his shots and thus was able to dodge every single one of them. As a result, he got eliminated from the tournament.
Besides being a pro at shooting, he's also a pro in melee combat being able to fend himself from any attacks. His favourite food is lollipop candy.
Awakened Power: Snipe Summon
This awakened power allows Tobias to summon his signature and trusty high-tech sniper rifle during battle at his own will. By snapping his fingers, the weapon instantly appears before him in a flash and he can take aim and fire high-powered shots from a great distance. The weapon also has modes so that he can defeat his opponents in battle without...any killing.
In addition, he can use his weapon for melee combat by swatting his opponents aside. However, the shots fired are loud and this literally gave Emma the advantage to dodge every shot he fires.
