Chapter 32: The Ninjala Tournament Finale Stage!
The day has come. In which it was just yesterday but time flies to it. Yes, the remaining 10 students will have a battle royal against each other and it begins after school.
On the arena, all the freshmen have gathered to watch their peers battle it all out. There are also some sophomores and seniors checking it out.
"Welcome to the Ninjala Tournament Finale Stage!" Coach Spruce announced as all cheered in excitement. "10 students from 10 classes have done well making it this far. Now the time has come to decide who will be the Ninjala Champion in Advanced WNA High!"
Everyone cheered some more as Coach Spruce introduced the finalists.
"First, we have the first ninja with the Ancient-Ranked Awakened Power, Kappei of Class 1-A!"
"Second, we have the divine, Ninja Fortuneteller, Ryotarou of Class 1-B!"
"Third, we have the Ninja Storekeeper, Baron of Class 1-C!"
"Fourth, we have the blazing speedster, Reiji of Class 1-D!"
"Fifth, we have the kinetic and active Shinobi, Sylvester of Class 1-E!"
"Sixth, we have the ravenous and ferocious shinobi in which you all saw his griffin form, Tyrone of Class 1-F!"
"Seventh, we have the heavy tank with tremendous firepower, Gunner of Class 1-G!"
"Eighth, we have the living, electrical ninja ready for the surge, Nanami of Class 1-H!
"Ninth, we have the kunoichi with the wild, thorny vines under her command, Victoria of Class 1-J!"
"And last but not least, we have the ninja with his living eyeball companion yet to be summoned right now, Isaiah of Class 1-K!"
Everyone cheered for them as Jeong brought up something. "Did you notice something guys? All the finalists are the Class Representatives of their respective classes!"
"Damn! You got that right Jeong!" Marcel agreed.
"Based on what we know, Elemental, Divine Magic, Pocket Dimension, Blazing Speed, Kinetic Energy, Griffin, Gatling Cannon, Electrokinesis, Wild Vines and All-Seeing Eye are the awakened powers featured in the finale stage." Chantelle analyzed.
"This, is gonna be one tough battle." Miyumi described as all set their eyes on Kappei.
Finale Stage...
"Is everyone ready? If so, Ninjas! Draw your blades!"
All 10 finalists drew their Iaitos. There can only be one winner, one Ninjala champion.
"Ready...BATTLE!"
All charged to fight each other as Kappei channeled lightning bolts on his left hand and looked around. Suddenly, vines sprouted out in front of him so, "Switching to fire..." He switched the lightning into fire and, "FWOOSH!"
The vines are burnt to a crisp as, "Surprise!" Reiji blazed in as Kappei blocked his attack. On the inner section, "Let's go on a shooting spree!" Gunner already had his power activated and went blitzing the arena. Baron came prepared and whipped out a riot shield from his left pocket and blocked the lasers.
"You saw that? That shield is big but Baron easily took it out!" Bull noticed.
"That's the power of pocket dimension. Better take notes Bull." Nichelle advised him.
Back at the arena, Ryotarou can be seen observing the battles. "Whom shall I kick out of the competition..." He then smiled. "Fate...has answered me. Divine Warp!" He faded away.
And then, reappeared behind Gunner! "Hey."
"What the? What are you doing behind me?!" A surprised Gunner asked.
"Sayonara! Divine Force!" He pointed his fan at him, "FWOOM!"
"YOU KIDDING ME?!" Gunner was pushed out of the inner section, crashed and rolled on the floor and out he goes and landed on the field flat on his face.
"One down, nine more to go!" Coach Spruce announced as the students of Class 1-G groaned that their class rep got defeated.
Down there, Nanami manipulated her electricity and, "Electro Surge!" She fired electric rays at Kappei and when they hit him, he absorbed them and merged it with his lightning. He then fired a powerful bolt hitting Nanami hard despite her, blocking it. "Who's next?" Kappei looked around when Sylvester charged straight at him with his Iaito imbued with his kinetic energy. "Gotcha!"
Their weapons clashed and the kinetic energy caused a shockwave that spread out entire in the area. Many felt the impact and Tyrone in his griffin form pounced onto Baron and swiped him hard! He crashed onto the grid wall and before he could take something out of his pockets, Tyrone rammed onto him hard breaking through the grid wall and out of the arena.
"2 down, 8 left!" Coach Spruce announced as Class 1-C was shocked that their class rep got eliminated early.
Meanwhile, Isaiah spawned 2 living eyeballs as they went around attacking anyone they see. "The sight of these entities are connected to my eyesight. I can clearly see what is going on in this battle!" He thought as he looked behind and blocked an attack from Reiji who just blazed in. Imbuing the flames on his Iaito, Reiji clashed with Isaiah and down there, Victoria sprouted out more vines. "Frenzy Tangle!"
3 vines went wild and tangled Tyrone as he roared and struggled but too late, "BAM! BAM! BAM!" The vines went wild slamming him all over the area and soon enough, they threw the griffin onto the field as he morphed back to his human form, bruised and defeated.
"3 down, 7 remaining!" Coach Spruce announced as Class 1-F didn't expect Tyrone's defeat to be swift.
And then, Ryotarou ambushed Isaiah and struck him down as Reiji backed away. His living eyeballs took action as they hovered to protect their master. "Eyes of Hypnotics!"
The 2 eyeballs glowed a bit but, "Nothing to worry about." Ryotarou swiftly slashed the eyeballs and they exploded. "Crap!" Isaiah just got up and charged to attack him but instead, Ryotarou levitated him and hurled him out of the arena. At the same time, "Kinetic Impact!" Sylvester slammed his Iaito on the ground and the kinetic energy unleashed a powerful wave and it ended up hitting Nanami and she was knocked out of the arena.
"We're halfway through the finale stage with 5 ninjas left in the fight!" Coach Spruce announced as Victoria used her vines to bind Sylvester. "Seriously are you squeezing me? Because I can't breathe!"
"Coming in hot! Blazing Spin Kick!" Reiji blazed on the grid walls and then, landed on her right. "KSH!"
"AH!" Victoria was kicked down from the towering platform as she got the vines to catch her fall. Once she touched ground, Reiji burned all her vines to ashes and, "Bye! Bye!"
"KSH!"
"Victoria of Class 1-J now got torched out!" Coach Spruce announced as Kappei took action. He fired a stream of water at him. "SPLASH!"
"Nooooo! My fire! Why?!" Reiji exclaimed in horror as Kappei fired a lightning bolt, easily removing him from the competition. At the same time, Sylvester engaged Ryotarou but he used his fan to levitate him and slam him onto the grid walls several times until he's unconscious and dropped onto the field.
Now all that's left is Kappei and Ryotarou as they both got onto the inner section to face each other. "As predicted, our fated battle begins now Kappei."
"You're gonna have to pull more rabbits out of your magic top hat if you have one!" Kappei told him.
"Too bad for you. Because this is where I will showcase my full power!" Ryotarou declared as he created the 5-point star, taps in in the center and sends it onto the ground as the magic pentacle is formed and Kappei is in it. "HAHAHAHAHA! The real fun begin! Divine Distortion!"
He raised his fan out to Kappei and suddenly, "Huh? I feel...funny...and dizzy..."
"Heh. Heh. Heh. A special space is created around him. Distorting his mind, causing him to lose focus and then, the pain caused by air pressure increasing around him will start...

"Now."
"AHHHHH! OW! OW! OW! Why is my head hurting!? AHHHHHHH!" Kappei screamed from the unknown pain as he covered his ears because a shrilling sound can be heard in his case from the pain as Ryotarou laughed confidently.
At the bleachers, "Oh yeah! Ryotarou's gonna win this!" Draco cheered as Class 1-B began cheering for him. "Oh Kappei...you got this...please...win this for our class..." Emma thought as the rest watched with angst.
Back at the arena, "I don't enjoy your agony. Give up now. You can't win against my power."
"Fat chance fortune boy!" Kappei called out as he tried to stand up.
"So persistent are you? Okay! Divine Levitation!" Ryotarou used his fan and lifted Kappei up. "Brace yourself because this is the same move I used on Sylvester!" He slammed Kappei on the grid walls several times. After that, he dropped him onto the inner section several times. "BAM!"
"Ahhh...I'm feeling too much pain...physical and mental..." Kappei groaned and felt it again in his head as he screamed and rolled on the arena.
At the bleachers, "KAPPEI! Don't give up now! I believe in you!" Emma called out.
"She's right mate! You came this far! Don't lose it out that easily!" Davis called out also.
"Better do something Kappei! Break it out of your head!" Vega called out.
"Yeah! There's always a way to counter a mental attack like this!" Cruz called out.
"You're our class rep! You're strong! You can do this!" Archie called out.
"That's right! We got your back Kappei! Our support is for you!" Maeve called out.
"You got this! We believe in you! The whole of Class 1-A believes in you!" Jeong called out and suddenly, all the Class A students started cheering for Kappei.
"Boring...it's futile you dummies! Our class rep has won the tournament!" Draco called out but an ice crystal fired from Chantelle hit him and froze him solid. "You never should have said that..." Alec stated while shaking his head.
The many voices of Class 1-A resonated and they grew louder and louder. Seeing this, "Time to finish the job. Divine Detonation!" Ryotarou channeled his power and the pentacle began to glow.
"This is the same move he used to defeat me!" Emma thought and, "I've won!" Ryotarou declared and, "IOOOOOM!"
All gasped at this. "Fate is on my side." Ryotarou declared but as the smoke cleared, "Impossible..."
Kappei is seen standing on his feet now with the wind power whirling around him.. "My friends and classmates are precious to me. We spent months improving on our bond and cohesion. Because of their voices that reached my ears...I was able to shrug off that distortion and use my powers again!"
"Unbelievable...you impress me..." Ryotarou did not expect that but soon enough, "It's still not over yet! I can still claim victory!"
"Then let's finish this!" Kappei had his 4 elements ready as they charged and clashed with their Iaitos. They fought hard as Kappei fired fireballs but, "Divine Shield!" Ryotarou's invisible shield took effect and the fireballs did nothing. "Then I'll do this!" Kappei manipuated the wind below his feet and, "Wh-Wh-What do you think you're doing?!"
"Can your divine shield protect you when I attack you from below?"
"Oh no!" Ryotarou began to panic as Kappei unleashed a pillar of water drenching him from below. He then crashed onto the ground as his weapon and fan are free from his hands. "Now's my chance!" Kappei charged and, "CHT!"
"My ritual fan!" Ryotarou exclaimed in horror as at the bleachers, "He exploited it!" Jeong exclaimed.
"Care to explain?" Joey asked.
"Ryotarou's weakness is that to use his divine magic, he needs his ritual fan to assist in performing his divine attacks!" Jeong explained.
"It's like some ninjas have awakened powers that require some object or equipment to assist in the usage!" Yamikage realized. "Just like me and Davis in the block when fighting those girls that have quivers and arrows in tandem with their powers."
And back there, "It...It can't be..." Ryotarou could not believe his eyes especially at his fan now torn off as, "The future is not suppose to end like this?! How did you even out the odds!? Who...are you..."
"Who am I Ryotarou? I'm a ninja obviously." Kappei answered and made a bold declaration. "And I will forge my path to my own destiny and to my future! That's what makes a true ninja!" He then formed 4 orbs of fire, water, lightning and wind. Once ready, "Strike of the 4 Elements!"
Ryotarou can only close his eyes as the attack landed on him. "IOOOOOM!"
All braced themselves as the smoke cleared revealing Ryotarou on the arena floor defeated as Kappei went down and gave him his hand. "The battle with you...it was something. I enjoyed it. Hope we can do this again."
He looked at him for moment with a thought in his mind. "He refused to accept his fate and changed his future huh..." With smile, he took his hand and Kappei helped him up. "Now, there's a true ninja..."
And because of that, "What sportsmanship! And now students of WNA High, the winner for the Ninjala Tournament..." Coach Spruce never felt this excited...

"KAPPEI OF CLASS 1-A!"
The whole class erupted in cheers as they ran to him. "Hey guys! I won! Thanks to your support!" Kappei called out when the boys and Gumchi pounced on him as they laughed and wrestled around among each other. The girls just smiled and clapped for him. Especially Emma who never felt this much happiness as they noticed each other and exchanged happy glances.
Even so, Austin smiled at his victory as the sophomores and seniors applauded Kappei's victory.
Awarding Ceremony...
"Congratulations for winning the Ninjala Tournament Kappei." Principal Bingram congratulated him as Vice-Principal McKenna handed him a gold trophy. "Thank you Principal Bingram. It is an honour." He thanked him.
"In all your battles, you fought honour and courage." Vice-Principal McKenna stated and he thanked her also.
Everyone applauded him for the victory as the higher-ups presented Ryotarou, a silver trophy and to Sylvester, a bronze trophy.
After that, photo taking took place followed by the students congratulating the winner and the runner-ups with selfies and compliments.
From a distance, Emma is watching all this with a smile when, "You're not gonna see him?" Alec approached her.
"Not now. Let him have his moments. He really won it." She replied as this continues on until evening and with that, everything is settled.
We have a winner! Kappei! Yes, he has finally won a tournament after a couple of years and not only that, he and his classmates earn a lot of credits!
Too bad, Ryotarou learnt the hard way that anyone can forge their own paths to their own future. Still, he can rightly acknowledge his flaws and respect his opponent.
All that's left is the homecoming dance. How will it go? You'll see...

Name: Ryotarou
Profile
The class representative of Class 1-B. Ryotarou is both a ninja and a fortuneteller. He can predict the fortunes and futures of any individual. He also values his class and ensures that they don't cause trouble like how he has to admonish Draco for his arrogance sometimes.
It is said that he was born in the same village as Naomi and they are close friends from young till now. Even if they attend different WNA Academies and high schools now, he still regards her as a good friend and during the WNA years, they keep in touch.
In high school, Ryotarou is a member of the Tea Ceremony Club and often practices his fortunetelling and divinations during his free time. He also leads the Inner Circle consisting of his peers that he trust and regard highly like Draco, Tobias, Kanisuke and Alec. His favourite food is fried shrimp aka tempura and his favourite drink is green tea.
Awakened Power: Divine Magic
Years of divinations and fortunetelling has awakened the power in Ryotarou. With his ritual fan, he can create a magic pentacle around him and unleash magic attacks that are mysteriously divine. He can levitate his opponents throwing them away or aside, create an invisible shield around himself and enable himself intangible.
The most powerful attacks he uses can distort his opponent's mind causing them to lose focus and feel mental pain in their heads. He can also employs various tricks to confuse his opponents and make them feel helpless and in addition, create a divine explosion from his magic pentacle usually used as a finishing move. Also, his power is one of those being close to being ranked ancient though it's ranked legendary.
