Chapter 38: Aquarium Date

On Tuesday...

It was morning and Kappei can be seen waiting outside the girl's dorm. He's wearing a black T-shirt with brown pants and his signature shoes with white socks. Oh yes, he also wore his baseball cap. "She should be done by now..." He thought.

"POOF!"

"Okay! I'm here!" Through the smokebomb, Emma showed up. She wore a yellow summer dress which went down to her knees and has frills at the end. She also wore green shoes.

"Good timing. Let's go!" He was able to book a ride for them to go to their destination for their date. Speaking of which, a car arrived and they went in as it drove off.

"What is Gumchi doing now?" Emma asked.

"Hanging out with Slick." Kappei replied and the scene cuts to Gumchi in his dorm eating buttered popcorn and watching Slick practice his drumming on his drum kit as he boom and beat about like a pro.

2 hours later...

The car arrived at it's destination as they exit the ride. "No way...An aquarium?" Emma exclaimed.

"That's right." Kappei replied as they went to the entrance. There's a booth where people buy tickets to enter the aquarium and about 3 people are managing it. Kappei paid for 2 tickets using his school credits and the person working in the booth handed him the tickets.

"Let's go Emma." He told her as they held hands and went inside the aquarium. "It's my first time visiting a place like this." She exclaimed. "Same thing for me." He agreed as they walked around.

Inside the aquarium are various fish tanks and exhibits where marine life can be seen swimming around for the audiences to have a good view of them though they tend to not notice the humans sometimes. Kappei and Emma had fun admiring the different types of fishes and sea life. There are salmons, carps, ocean sunfishes, barracudas, anglerfishes, jellyfishes, rockfishes, porcupinefishes, eels, piranhas, pufferfishes, manta rays, stingrays, sea snakes, crabs, hermit crabs, lobsters, crayfishes, seahorses, urchins and schools of fishes in different variants and many more in which too many to count.

"Wow...that's a lot of sea life around the aquarium." Emma exclaimed.

"Hey look! A school of fish is swimming in a synchronized style!" Kappei pointed at one of the fish tanks as the school of fish showcased many of their cohesive forms. They formed a sword, a shield, a ring and now, they formed a parallelogram. Since they're holding hands, Kappei and Emma approached the school of fish and they suddenly formed a heart shape before them. They turned a bit red from the formation and ended up going to the next area.

In there, they came across many aquatic predators notably the bigger fish. There are shortfin mako sharks, bullhead sharks, cookie cutter sharks, wobbegongs, hammerhead sharks, sawsharks, tiger sharks, whale sharks, swordfishes, killer whales aka orcas and other sea life like octopuses and giant squids. Oh yes, they also saw the Great White Sharks.

"They sure are dangerous if we swim to them by accident. They can be hostile on their own sea turf." said Kappei.

"Scary..." Emma can agree with him and asked this question. "You'll save me from danger right? Like if a shark tries to eat me alive or an octopus grabs me to drown me, you'll save me right?"

"Of course I will. Because I care for you and I love you in my heart." Kappei answered her and she beamed in happiness. To the point that she pulled him in for a kiss on the lips. He melted into it and for some reason, an octopus noticed them and used 2 of it's tentacles to form a heart shape before them and they never noticed it. Furthermore, some of the predators swam by to look at them. After the kiss, they checked out the next area where there's a display of aquatic flora and fauna in which they had good view of the various aquatic plants like the corals, the waterwheel plants, bladderworts, etc.

Some time later, they entered another area to see an exhibit of penguins. They watched as some waddle on the ice and others swimming around or underwater. An employee brought in 2 buckets of fish for it's feeding time. "Come and get it!" He started tossing the fish as the penguins squawked and swam to the employee gathering before him as he fed each of them a fish. The penguins all squawked in happiness and resumed their waddling and swimming.

"Looks like they all have full bellies." said Kappei and with that, they went to another exhibit where there are seals. One is balancing a ball with it's nose and it threw the ball to another as it caught it with it's nose.

"Sounds like a live show has just started." He thought and he and Emma sat on a bench and watched the seals perform other performances. The crowd was wowed by how the seal's balance is in perfection. Other performances were showcased like a seal blowing a horn, some doing many flips and one even gave a peformer a hug. After a while, everyone applauded for them as the seals clapped their flippers as a way to thank them.

"They're fun to play with." said Emma.

"Only if you know how to train and bond with them very well." Kappei replied and they left.

The next area now reveals a dolphin show and it's about to begin. Everyone is seated including the couple as the performers and dolphins put on a show. All cheered as the dolphins leap up and through the hoops that the performers are holding on, two hitched a ride on dolphins as they swam around and they did some circus tricks and finally, 3 of them performed outstanding leaps.

Everyone cheered for them and with that, the show is over and Kappei and Emma spent some more time checking out the sea life and reading some information about them. They even window shopped in a gift shop checking out some cool merchandise.

After the fun...

Outside the aquarium, there's a seafood restaurant on the right while the gift shop they were in just now is on the left side. Feeling hungry, "Let's grab a bite." Kappei told Emma.

"Yeah. I could use a good meal after feeding those seals." She agreed with him and they went inside. There, a waitress welcomed them and had them seated together on a table. She then handed the menus to them as they began browsing through.

"Most of the food prepared here is indeed seafood. Now I know why Kanisuke likes to go there during his free time to treat himself." said Kappei.

"I think during lunch with Alec, he mentioned his love for chili crab." Emma recalled.

"So true." Kappei agreed as they continued browsing through. A while later, it's ordering time.

"I'll take the fish n chips with iced lemon tea please." Kappei ordered

"I'll also take the fish n chips with orange juice." Emma also ordered the same thing as her boyfriend.

"Anything else like appetizers or desserts?" The waitress asked kindly.

"Hmmm...I'll add the garlic butter salmon cubes and for dessert, we'll order it later after our main courses." Kappei replied as the waitress took note of everything and left to submit their orders.

While waiting, "Ever since you became one with the water element, do you ever thought of the opportunity to bond with the sea life?" Emma asked.

"I don't think it's possible. But I can imagine the fun in it. Like riding on a great white shark and using my water attacks on bad guys!" Kappei answered her.

"Or riding on a dolphin during a rescue mission. Who knows?" Emma added.

"Furthermore, I'd imagine myself surfing on water. That'll be really cool. Especially when we surf together." Kappei also added as he grinned at her. She grinned back and their drinks have arrived.

"I noticed that when you bought the tickets, they appeared cheaper than the usual price." Emma brought up.

"Oh yes. Ever since summer began, all the attractions and creature comforts now give discounted prices to students attending the ninja high school." Kappei explained. "The discounts last until we begin our new school year and a reminder that they accept our school credits."

"Jordan told me to expect more training in the new fields of martial arts and we'll be shooting shurikens and kunais on target boards." said Emma.

"In addition, we'll start on our new subjects that we chose from the options." He added and their lunch has arrived. Based on the plating, 2 pieces of beer-battered cod deep fried into golden brown, a serving of crispy french fries and a serving of salad with a small cup containing tartar sauce and a lemon wedge. "Nice!" Kappei squeezed some juice from the lemon wedge and started eating his fish and Emma dipped a french fry into the tartar sauce. "Yummy!"

"I wonder how good are the salmon cubes?" Kappei took a piece with his fork, dipped it in sauce and sampled it. "Mmmm...impressive! Try one Emma!" He took a piece, dipped it and fed his girlfriend. "Mmmm...it's nice."

"Worth ordering." Kappei can say that as he ate some of his fries. "Don't forget your salad. Because you also need to eat healthy." Emma reminded him as she squeezed some juice from her wedge and began eating it. "Yeah, yeah. I get it." He's now eating his salad and she did the same after sampling a piece of her fish.

After lunch, dessert time and Kappei just submitted the order as the same waitress served each of them a glass of water. "What kind of dessert did you order?" Emma asked.

"You'll see..." He replied as they continued chatting. "You know, I'm thinking of creating my own Nintube channel where I can post videos of my dancing and teach others on how to dance the moves in the right way." Emma revealed to him.

"That's a good idea." Kappei liked it. "Also, you can be part of my videos if you like. I mean, you just started learning from me yesterday." Emma added. "Sure. If I feel like it, I'll help you in the videos." He replied with a smile and their dessert has arrived.

"Ta-Daa! Chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream." Kappei presented it to Emma and she's very excited to try the dessert. She sliced a small portion and, "Whoa...there's chocolate syrup flowing out from the inside!"

"Like lava." Kappei described and they laughed about it. Emma then sampled the dessert. "Mmmm! The chocolate is so rich in taste! Especially the syrup!"

"Goes well with the ice cream." He added as he ate a portion of it with his cake as they continued chatting while enjoying their dessert.

After that...

"That was fun looking at the sea life in the aquarium!" Emma told Kappei as they exit the restaurant. And yes, Kappei paid the bill already.

"Glad you enjoyed it. Our first time was something." He stated as he whipped his phone out to book a ride back to their dorms. "On our next date tomorrow, we'll catch a movie."

"Sounds like fun! Looking forward to it!" She replied as she snuggled to Kappei and he stroked her hair. It gets more exciting as their love grows.

I need to do some research regarding the content for this date. Somewhat difficult but manageable. I was still able to do so despite being very busy in job lately. Ugh...I could use a coke.

At least they had a fun date! And the fun grows some more in their next one. That is all and stay tuned for the next chapter!
