Chapter 44: Ninjala Reunions
On the month of June...
"This is so exciting!" Kappei cheered.
"I know right? Never thought the day has come." Emma cheered also as they looked out at the window. The couple is in a large airship and it's heading to a new location where all will be revealed. 400 people are inside the airship including Coach Spruce and Class 1-B's teacher, Sensei Tomoko.
"We're nearly there students!" Coach Spruce told the group.
"Once we landed, you are free to roam around the mall in the WNA Resort. To get to the stadium, it's on your right." Sensei Tomoko told them.
"This is our first time going to that resort! My dad told me awesome about it!" Alec told Kappei and Emma for he tagged along with them. And then, "I can see it!" A student called out as all looked through the windows and wow, they can definitely see the WNA Resort.
"This is where the Ninjala Summer Sports Olympics will take place...can't wait to have some competitive fun!" Kappei thought as Gumchi popped out and cheered excitedly.
WNA Resort...
The airship has landed safely on the landing pad as everyone got out one by one. Kappei, Emma and Alec looked around in excitement and they all brought some baggage with them. "So this is the WNA Resort..." Kappei exclaimed in excitement.
Now the WNA Resort is a very popular hotspot for all ninjas to have their rest and relaxation there. One can say it serves as a holiday destination for those that need a break and those that want to spend their honeymoon. You know, those ninjas that get married.
The layout is truly spectacular. It has 8 hotels, a large megamall in the middle with all kinds of eating places, shops and entertainment facilities. There's large beach right beside the resort on it's left with more creature comforts and the most notable thing is that on it's right is a large sports stadium. This is the main venue for the Ninjala Summer Sports Olympics.
"It seems that students from the other high schools are also attending the event." Alec told them and as they looked around some more airships arriving and some dropping off the students when they heard a familiar voice. "What the-Kappei! Emma!"
Looking to their left, "Oh my gosh! It's Van and Lucy!" Emma exclaimed as their old friends showed up waving to them while running to meet them. Wow, those 2 grew up pretty well.
Van's hairstyle and colour is the same though a bit longer than before and he has grown buff. He now wears an orange letterman jacket with the sleeves red, basketball shorts, white socks and red running shoes. His wristbands are still the same as before.
Lucy on the other hand has some major changes. She now wears a pink T-shirt with three-quarter white sleeves and 3 blue stars on the front with a pair of jeans. Her boots, belt, wristbands and hair spike rings remain the same but the most notable change is that she no longer wears that eyepatch that covers her red eye which is the source of her power.
As they met up, "LUCY!"
"EMMA!" The 2 girls shared a hug and laughed together as Kappei and Van fist bump each other. Even so, "What the...Alec! I didn't know you attend ninja high school!" Van exclaimed.
"Does this answer your question?" Alec then touched his hair and the white portion became pink. "Whoa...you do have awakened power! Nice dude!" They fist bump each other as Alec touched it and the portion became white while Lucy and Emma talked to each other.
"I'm so glad to see you Emma! How are you doing?"
"I'm doing great Lucy! How about you?"
"Same! I made some new friends and got along with Van and my other classmates!"
"Wow! You two are in the same class! So cool!"
And back to Van and Kappei, "How are you doing bro?" Van asked.
"All good! I've grown stronger than before!" Kappei replied.
"Bah! I've also grown stronger than before and you can't beat me in a match." Van boasted.
"Ha! You talk big and actually, you'll lose to me." Kappei replied.
"Says who?!" Van and Kappei then started arguing while Alec just took a step back chuckling a bit. And then, "Well at least my letterman jacket is nicer than yours!" Kappei stated proudly.
"No way! Mine's nicer and cooler than yours!" Van argued and they're back to square one as Emma and Lucy sighed and shook their heads. Even so, "Sounds like you guys met some old friends of ours!"
"Hey...it's the Bottle Collectors!" Kappei recognized and the group has arrived and they sure grew up also.
Dan's hair has grown a bit longer and has developed a lean and buff body structure. He now wears a black T-shirt with a purplish blue bomber jacket, black track pants, socks and sports shoes.
Tyler has grown large and buff still having the same hairstyle and he now wears a khaki vest with an olive green V-neck shirt with a letter 'T' on the front, red violet shorts, socks and shoes.
Keith has grown handsome and has gained a decent body structure like Dan's. His blonde hair is still the same and he now wears a blue T-shirt with a cyan jacket and beige pants with socks and running shoes.
Naomi has grown beautiful and her hairstyle is still the same though the ribbon-like strands on her side buns grew a bit longer than before. She now wears a hot pink sweater shirt and the skirt-like outer garment remains the same and likewise, her socks and slipper shoes.
And finally, May also has grown beautiful and her ponytail has grown slightly longer. She now wears a black tank top with jeans, socks and shoes. Her scarf and jacket remains the same on her.
"Wait...you guys attend the same high school as Van and Lucy?" Emma asked as they met up.
"You said it my old friend." Naomi then hugged her and she returned it. "Damn...Kappei. You look like you worked out a lot these days." May described as, "But comparing you to my Dandelion, he's stronger than you."
"Whatever and don't tell me..."
"She's right. My Mayflower and I are an item." Dan revealed to them as he placed his arm around May and Emma squealed in excitement. "Nice one! And that explains the pet names you give each other is it?" Kappei asked. They nodded and then, "Hey guys! Good to see you again!"
"Whoa! Hongfa is here! Along with Damien and Elena!" Tyler noticed and they showed up on their left. At the same time on the right, "It's been too long hasn't it?"
"There's Cluv! Along with Billy, Dia and Heart!" Dan recognized as the 2 groups went to meet up with them.
Hongfa's hair is still the same but she now has a ponytail instead of her bun. She also wore a traditional Chinese style long-sleeved shirt with black, silk pants, socks and slipper shoes designed for kicking bad guys.
Damien still retains his spiky hairstyle and he now wears a red V-neck T-shirt with an orange satin jacket with the letter 'D' behind it, army green pants, socks and boots.
Elena's hair has grown slightly long and the fringe now covers her right eye. She now wears a light pink blouse with a rose pink short skirt, 2 bangles on her wrists, socks and low heels.
Cluv still has his muscular body structure with his hairstyle and he now wears a white T-shirt with an unbuttoned dark grey polo shirt and brown pants with socks and shoes.
Billy still wore the same beanie as before and his hair is still messy but has grown a bit long. He now wears a black T-shirt with a 5 red kunais that form the letter, 'B' with a beige vest, light brown pants, socks and sneakers.
Dia's hair now grows to a medium-length still maintaining the style. She now wears a long-sleeved pink and purple striped shirt with white overalls, earrings, socks and shoes.
And Heart still has the same hairstyle and attire as before except that his knee-length shorts are grayish blue instead of pale brown.
"I don't know why but it's so cool to have reunion with those from the WNA Academy in Eagle City!" Emma cheered as all exchanged greetings with each other when another familiar voice called out to them. "Yo little ones! Remember us?"
"Oh yes. We remember you Sisler." Keith replied and he did show up with the other muscular people from the academy. "I recognize the others. Hades, Gaia, Caribou, Sheila and the muscular triplets, Cassandra aka Cassie, Sanders aka Sandy and Dorothy aka Dora." Van pointed out and he's absolutely correct.
Sisler is still the same, still maintaining his large body frame and likewise, his attire. The only changes in him is the bandana that's half red and half blue with a white star on the front and he now has metal arm guards.
Hades's blue hair grew long and the back is tied into a short ponytail and the fringe is swiped to his left covering his left eye. His attire is mostly the same as before except his shirt now has 3-quarter sleeves and is purple instead of light pink. The gold chain around his neck and wrist bands also remain the same.
Gaia still has the same hairstyle and attire as before except he now has a forest green vest as a new addition to his appearance. Likewise, the 2 scars on his face remains the same.
Caribou has new hairstyle in which it's a mohawk but the hair colour remains the same. He now wears a black tank top with his signature jacket that he wore before, denim shorts, socks and boots. Oh yes, he lost some fat converting them to muscle. (Because in the anime, he looks more chubby than muscular)
Sheila's hairstyle and colour is the same as before and she now wears a long-sleeved dark brown crop top and brown pants with a belt, socks and shoes. Oh, her 2 bracelets she wore on her left wrist before is now split evenly for both her wrists.
And finally, the muscular triplets still retain their signature hairstyles and earrings and they each wore a sleeveless crop top and combat pants with belts in their own respective colours. They also wore white socks and black shoes.
"If I remember, we graduated from the academy before them." Hades brought up as Sheila gave Van and Damien fist bumps. Then, Gumchi popped out and all were happy to see him again.
"Ha! Ha! Everyone sure grew up fast! I like that!" Gaia exclaimed.
"Are you guys here to attend the Summer Sports Olympics?" May asked.
"You bet! This is the first time an event is held for all 16 ninja high schools!" Cassie told them. "All 8 of us can from the high school in UK."
"Me, Damien and Elena came from the one in China." said Hongfa.
"Billy, Dia, Heart and I arrived from the one in Canada." said Cluv.
"The 7 of us came from Oedo." Dan spoke for his group, Van and Lucy.
"And us 3 came from USK!" Kappei declared with Emma and Alec beside him.
"No way! You guys are fortunate to be in the no.1 ninja high school!" Dora exclaimed.
"Wait a minute...have we met before?" Dan asked pointing at Alec. "Long story. He was here before but wasn't fit to be a ninja back then. But now, he awakened his power and is able to become one." Kappei explained to him.
"Sounds interesting." He replied and, "What do you say we go inside the mall and check it out?" Van suggested. All agreed with him and they went inside.
Inside the Resorts Mall...
"Check it out! There are so many shops and eating places!" Caribou exclaimed.
"My dad was right when he told me about the luxuries in this resort!" Dan exclaimed as all looked around when Emma noticed some adults. "Look over there!" She pointed.
Nearby, Laura is seen chatting with Max, Roger, Burton, Berecca, Ron and Jane. Interesting, Jane and Berecca are holding onto a bundle of joy each as, "Wait a minute...didn't I see Berecca as a girl back then?" Billy asked.
"Yeah...Ron was a kid and now, he's like this?" May asked.
"All this time...I've been berating Burton who was actually an adult this whole time?!" A confused Dan had clueless thoughts on his head but fortunately, Van, Lucy, Kappei and Emma did some explanation together and it was understandable in the end.
Once done, the group met up with the adults as, "Ms Warren! Everybody!" Emma called out to them.
"Whoa! It's them!" Burton recognized as the adults went to meet the teens. "Alec my boy!" Roger gave his son a hug as, "How's the ninja school so far?"
"It was awesome!" He answered.
"I can clearly see that! I even saw your battles on TV! Pretty decent!" Roger revealed to him. "Though you were eliminated in the Elite Stage, it was good enough."
"Speaking of tournaments, I saw that you lost to Dan in the Finale Stage, son." Max told Van. "Oh...yeah." He was embarrassed as Kappei laughed at him. "What's so funny you douchebag?!" He asked.
"Nothing..." He replied with a grin when, "Oh Kappei! Congrats for winning the tournament in your high school!" Laura congratulated to him. This shocked everyone and Van was completely thunderstruck. "NO FAIR!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha!" Kappei laughed at his friend as Van lunged at him. "You asshole! You make me look bad!"
"Get off me!" The 2 boys ended up wrestling each other as many laughed. "2 idiotic apes beefing from young till now..." Lucy sighed as she and Emma pulled them away from each other when suddenly, "Oh Emma, congrats for winning the Homecoming Dance with Kappei. I always know you 2 are perfect for each other!" Laura added and all gasped leaving Emma completely flustered as Laura whipped her phone out. "Gumchi sent me this cute photo to me! I kept it as my wallpaper for my phone!"
"Hey let me see it!" Hongfa called out as many gathered before her and indeed, it was a picture of them kissing during the dance. Even so, "Wow...you 2 won Homecoming King and Queen? That's awesome!" Dia exclaimed.
"If this photo is posted in social media, I am so gonna like it!" said Gaia as he and Sisler fist bump each other. "I'm so happy for you!" Lucy hugged Emma and revealed this. "Just to let you know...I'm dating my Vanilla Vannie Boo!"
"No way!" Emma laughed as, "Well I'll also reveal it. I'm dating Elena." Damien revealed as he placed his arm around her as she snuggled close to him.
"I'm dating Sheila." Sisler revealed.
"I'm dating Cassie." said Hades.
"I'm dating Sandy." said Gaia.
"And I'm dating Dora." Caribou revealed.
The adults were amazed at this though a few like Hongfa and Naomi wished they have a boyfriend. And then, "Aw look! They're so cute! Those 2 bundles of joy!" Dia brought up with Dora grinning with her.
"Noticed them did you? Say hello to our little boy, Roderick!" Jane introduced their son as Ron stood beside her. "And say hello to our little girl, Beatrice!" Berecca introduced their daughter as Burton stood beside her. Everyone adored the little babies as they looked at them in awe.
At the same time outside a shop, "Spruce!"
"Bruce!" The 2 brothers finally meet again as they fist bump each other and head bashed each other as they laughed. Amy, Daisy and Sensei Tomoko then started interacting as, "Not only students from the 16 high schools are here. Some of the graduating students that already graduated also showed up followed by some of the teaching staff as well as members of the WNA are here as well..." Emma thought for she picked up some conversations via her extreme hearing and noticed them.
"Anyway, based on the videos, Dan won the tournament in the ninja high school Oedo, Hongfa won it in China and the rest got booted." Burton brought up.
"And some of you brought your baggage right?" Ron asked and indeed, some of them did. "Come, there's a room in the hotel where you can put your baggage." Those with the baggage followed Ron and minutes later, all regrouped as Max decided to brief them. "You guys have half an hour to look around and buy anything with your school credits. That also applies to later for your lunch hour. 9pm is the time the event begins. Genryusai will be there for the opening speech."
"Marvellous! I can at least check out some beautiful ninja souvenirs!" Keith thought as all split up.
"Hey dad. Are the credits temporary here?" Van asked.
"Yes but don't worry, you're still students but once you graduate, you're gonna have to work hard and earn the green so that once you have enough, you and your girlfriend can enjoy some R&R." He answered as Lucy cheered and they ran together as Max smiled at their relationship.
"Eh? Where's Kappei?" Emma asked Alec.
"He went to the restroom because during breakfast at the dorm, he ate a lot of bacon and sausages." He answered her.
In the restroom...
Inside a cubicle, Kappei just finished his business and left to wash his hands. Once done, he turned around and, "Woah!"
In front of him is a tall, fair-skinned male teenager with light blonde hair and a well-built body. He wore a red T-shirt with a black jacket, grey pants, black socks and white shoes. "Are you Kappei?"
"Uh yeah! What do you want with me?" He asked nicely when suddenly, he grabbed him with one hand by the neck and pinned him onto the wall!
"BAM!"
"HEY! What gives?!" Kappei asked as he tried to break free but to no avail.
"Listen to me very clearly you good-for-nothing bastard. No matter what you are, what you do or anything, I will never accept you for having an Ancient-Ranked Awakened Power!" He then threw him onto the floor and left the restroom disgusted.
"What's with this punk..." Kappei asked himself when Austin showed up. "Dude. What just happened?" Kappei told him the whole story as he helped him up. "Oh...didn't expect Kuryu to become hostile to you."
"Kuryu? You know him?" He asked.
"We're in the same batch but in different classes. Kuryu is the strongest but is cold-hearted, has a short fuse and is unfriendly to many of us for he only values strength and power as the way of the shinobi. He only befriends those that have awakened powers as powerful as his." Austin explained to him.
"This doesn't seem right." said Kappei.
"I agree but he's too proud and stiff-necked in his own belief and shinobi path." Austin then revealed this. "Ever since he witnessed your power during the tournament, hatred is already building up in his heart."
"What kind of awakened power does he have?" Kappei asked.
"A very powerful one. It was said that it was the closest to being ranked Ancient but it was still ranked Legendary." Austin explained. "I have a feeling that soon, you'll see it in action. Now let's head to the stadium and to our respective groups. The event is about to begin soon and whatever happened between you and him, don't let his words go over your head."
"Gotcha!" They fist bump each other and left.
At the stadium...
Thousands of students are gathered and seated as the main group including Kappei are all seated together. "I wonder, do you guys have awakened powers?" Emma brought up.
"Now that you mentioned it, we do!" Dan made the first move and created a blade made out of dark energy. "Behold! The Dark Blade! I can slice anybody and command the darkness from within it! It shrouds me in the shadows and I can manipulate the darkness to aid me!"
"Nice! Check this out! It's my Drill Arm!" Billy morphed both his lower arms into drills and they began spinning at will.
"I got these! Forearm Axe Blades!" Heart sprouted axe blades outside his lower arms as he swung around but lost his balance. "Oh no! Oh no!" That's when Cluv caught his arm carefully as the blades are recalled back.
"Neat powers. Watch this!" And literally, thin Spikes shot out from Sheila's face and arms. "Neat." Damien described as Kappei smiled at this. Who would have guessed that all those he knew back at the academy have power awakened in them. "They really grew stronger. And likewise, I should do the same to bond with my power and use it to defeat evil and protect others. That's what a true ninja would do in the face of danger." He thought to himself as Gumchi played with Hongfa.
And then, Cassie showed the freshman a video about her training with her sisters. In there, she's seen morphing into a Cheetah, Sandy is morphing into a Leopard and Dora is seen morphing into a Jaguar. "Neat." said Elena.
"Better to show it in video." said Sandy as Cluv demonstrated his power by rotating his right arm and shoulder rapidly with tiring out. "And that, is the Spiral Strike!"
"Impressive! You've grown better than before! I can give you that!" Dan told him with respect.
Just then, Naomi felt someone tap her shoulder. She looked to her left and, "Surprised my good friend?"
"Ryotarou!" She exclaimed as the Ninja Fortuneteller is seen seated beside her and with him are Draco, Tobias and Kanisuke. "You did say before that you and Naomi are childhood friends and indeed it is!" Emma exclaimed as all attention is shifted to the left.
"I told you I predict things accurately." He replied as he whipped out his ritual fan. "I thought I cut it into half." Kappei brought up.
"I have plenty more at my dorm." He replied. "Anyway Naomi, still working on your Sonokinesis power?"
"Cool! Naomi can create and manipulate sound?!" Emma asked him.
"Through her shamisen, she can. Just like me, her power requires something to make use of." Ryotarou explained and then, "What the?! What are you doing here Draco?!"
"Aw lookie here, it's daddy's boy named Dan being a dick!" Draco teased with Tobias and Kanisuke laughing at him. "Hey! Don't diss my Dandelion!" May called out.
"Or what?" Tobias summoned his high-tech sniper rifle as he took aim. "Plenty of new targets..."
"ZIP!"
"HEY! Who took my toy?" In a blink of an eye, Lucy snagged it easily as, "Cool! I wanna play with it and shoot someone dead on the head!"
"Lucy! Give it back to him! It's part of his awakened power!" Emma told her but she ended up taking aim at Tobias with a crazy grin on her face. "Oh you got to be kidding me!" He exclaimed but then, Ryotarou pointed his fan at the weapon and it was forced out of her hands returned back to him. "Cool power." Tyler noticed.
"Careful when you fight him, divine magic is dangerous." Alec whispered to him.
"Hey Dan, do you know this Draco?" Elena asked.
"Yeah...we beefed with each other on trying to prove our ninja superiority in the past." Dan replied.
"Yeah right! And you lose to me all the time! Because one, I'm better than you. Two, I'm from a rich family unlike you and third, my awakened power is much better than yours!" Draco called out as he laughed at him. Dan wanted to strangle him now but Tyler grabbed him.
"Hey Dandelion, no matter how people diss you, I'll always love you the way you are." May told him with a sweet and calming voice.
"Well...unlike him, I have a cute girlfriend and I like to call her my Mayflower." He replied as she pecked his lips and he returned the favour. "Cute." Hades thought as he drank some soda.
Just then, "Aye mates!"
"Davis? You're here too?!" Kappei asked and indeed, he is. Along with Vega, Archie, Maeve, Jeong, Cruz and surprisingly, joining them are Joey, Anais, Shane and, "FWOOSH!"
"What the? Did that dude just came out of my shadow?!" Gaia exclaimed as, "As I thought, Yamikage!" Kappei fist bump him as, "Friends of yours?" Lucy asked Emma.
"Yes! We're all in the same class!" Emma revealed. "She's right! Nice to meet you!" Vega shook Lucy's hand as everyone started mingling together. "You must be Davis! I've heard about your achievements in the kendo tournaments you participated!" Dan interacted with him.
"Really mate? You're an interesting one." He then created his photon blade. "Cool!" Dan created his dark blade and they tapped their weapons with respect. Lucy, Emma, Vega, Maeve and Anais chat with each other and Keith, Heart and Billy are taking a peek from Jeong's holographic screen as he browsed through his data.
"5 more minutes and the event begins. So let's sit back and relax for the summer." Sisler told the muscular people as they mingled with the freshmen. A strong reunion it is, for those from the WNA Academy in Eagle City.
Behold! Many returning characters have made their appearances after some time! They sure changed a lot. Some boys grew strong and handsome and some girls grew sexy and beautiful.
Even Kappei and Emma's peers joined the fun with some friendships formed and a rivalry revealed.
But watch out, someone is out there despising Kappei and he sure is full of hatred.
Now for the next few chapters, sports events and bonding will take place! This is gonna be so much fun! Yeah!
