Chapter 54: Chloe and her friends!
A few days later...
"Thanks for accompanying me Emma."
"No problem Lucy. You just need to get some extra clothes from your house. Good thing your parents are at home and we at least had some time with them."
"Yup!" The scene shows the 2 girls taking the train back to Eagle City. Minutes later, it arrived at their stop as they left the train. But as they exit the station, Lucy suddenly gasped. "Chloe..."
"What?" Emma then took notice of what she saw. Yes, there is Chloe walking down the street. She's also grown up in her teen years like the girls. She now wears a long, magenta dress while her shoes and her signature varsity jacket remains the same.
"It's been years since we've seen her." said Emma.
"We only kept in touch via text message." said Lucy as she thought of it. "I wonder what she is doing today?"
"Well, why not we tail her a bit and see what she's doing." Emma suggested as Lucy gave her the thumbs up.
3 minutes later...
"Oh look! She's meeting with some other friends at some local cafe." Emma exclaimed.
"No way...Sally, Satsuki and Agatha are there." Lucy noticed. "There is also another girl with there but I don't know who she is."
"I know Agatha was one of the girls competing in a piano contest back then when Chloe started learning how to play the piano but for the other girls, I'm not familiar with them." said Emma.
"Sally and Satsuki were once my friends until the day the power awakened in me, they were too fearful to be with me..." Lucy explained with a bit of sadness.
"I see..." Emma placed her hand on her shoulder. "Why don't you try and be friends with them again?"
"I don't know if they still think of me as-"
"Lucy it's been a few years already. Times have changed. Maybe they might forget about it so this is your one chance to be their friend again." Emma encouraged her. "Now, let's see what they're going to do..." They stealthy entered the cafe, took a seat and observed from a distance. Emma also ordered drinks for themselves to sip on.
Now Chloe has met up with the girls as, "Seems to me you're new in our group."
"That's right! My name's Patricia and I'm also known as Patty for short." This girl is the same one Van met and befriended when there were rumours about a 'mermaid' in Eagle City and they investigated it together.
"Patty once attended a boarding school and now, she attends the same high school as us. Though she's in a different class, we were in the same baking club and this is where I got her to be part of our group." Agatha explained.
The girls then chat with each other over drinks and cakes as Emma used her hearing to pick up their conversations. "How nice. Chloe and Agatha still practice the piano and they're members of the music club. Agatha is also a member of the baking club with Patty who's also a member of the track and field club. For Sally and Satsuki, they're members of the tennis club. Oh and also, Chloe is in the all girls soccer club."
"So they're doing pretty well also while I'm in Oedo doing high school things." Lucy whispered to her as they sipped their drinks. They continued observation for the next 10 minutes and, "Now they're planning to hang out at the park." Emma told Lucy.
"And they're leaving now." She added as they left. They finished their drinks and left also.
At the park...
"A stroll in the park helps destress yourself from anything that's disturbing your mind." said Satsuki.
"And we better be on high alert." said Sally.
"Why?" Patty asked.
"Outside our school, there's this gang of delinquents that like to harass us girls and try to hook themselves to any girl they see." Satsuki told her.
"They like to get our attention with their bike tricks and stunts. They're also known to be high school dropouts from our high school." said Sally.
"Punks these days..." Patty sighed when suddenly, "Oh no...they're here!" Chloe exclaimed and in a split second, 11 teenaged boys rode by on their bikes and they halted in front of them. All of them wore pitch black leather vests with dark grey undershirts, ripped jeans, knee and shoulder pads with a spike on it and boots. For their leader, he wore a red head band as a he got off his bike. "Well hello there ladies!"
"Luther, if you're here to ask us out, it's a no." Agatha told him firmly.
"Yeah! Why won't you and your dumb bike gang leave us alone!" Sally asked.
"Because we like to have fun and hang out with hot girls like you 5." Luther told them while sticking his tongue out and licking the air like a stalker as he got off his bike and attempted to flirt with Chloe but she pushed him back. "You're not my type!"
"Feisty are you? Yeah you really are my type! I like that!" Luther sure is perverted and dangerous as he snapped his fingers and his gang got out of their bikes and surrounded the girls. "The boss is going to give us the chance to get some wool!" One of them cheered. "We get to catch some tail!" Another one cheered when suddenly, "BAM!"
"What the? That sign post turned into some whip thingy or-"
"BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!"
Every gangster took a hit from the metal tendril as, "SHOW YOURSELF! I'LL BREAK EVERY BONE IN YOUR BODY!" Luther shouted in rage over his followers being thrashed easily but was hit by the same tendril again as, "Oh screw this! Let's leg it!" All obeyed their boss as they grabbed their bikes and rode away.
Once gone, "Okay, that was unexpected but at least, none of us got violated by them." said Agatha and then, "She's here..." Chloe exclaimed and from the bushes, "It's been years since we've seen each other face to face."
Chloe gasped and, "LUCY!" She ran and embraced her best friend as Emma smiled at this. "I know you. A few years ago, I saw you breakdancing and you called me out!"
"Wow! You did remember!" Emma replied when, "Oh no! It's the monster!" Sally and Satsuki hid behind Agatha while trembling as, "What is going on that I don't know about?" Patty asked.
Well, Chloe told Agatha and Patty the full story as Lucy approached Sally and Satsuki who backed away a bit. "I know it's been years since the incident. As you have witnessed, I have full control of my awakened power now." She began.
"And like I mentioned just now, the reason for her existing power is because of her ninja descent." Chloe added with support for Lucy.
They said nothing as she spoke on. "If I have done anything that made you fear me, I am sorry and I hope we can rebuild our broken bridge." They looked surprised as they looked at each other for a second and looked back at Lucy who just extended her hand out with a smile.

...
"Chloe was indeed telling the truth..." said Sally.
"You have changed a lot..." said Satsuki.
The next thing it happened, both girls jumped onto Lucy or for a group hug as they cheered and laughed together. The rest of the girls also joined the group hug with new friendships being formed and a few restored.
Well, everything is all clear now as the girls let go and then, "I got an idea, wanna hang out tomorrow at the mall with us?" Chloe asked.
"Sure! Emma and I will be there!" Lucy accepted with Emma agreeing to the hang out.
"Great! We'll meet at the mall at 11am tomorrow!" Chloe suggested and with that, the girls split up heading their own way and they all gotta be home for dinner.
So the next day...
The 7 girls met up again at the mall as planned. "Alright girls, let's have some girl fun!" Chloe declared and they cheered together.
First, they went to the arcade and it's there that Sally and Satsuki are pretty skilled in some of the arcade games as the girls watched them shoot terrorists in a shooting game. After that, they played air hockey with Emma and Lucy as a team against Chloe and Agatha as they had fun. They also tried out the dance game machine with Emma proving her skills thanks to her years of breakdancing and they also tried out various claw machines winning only a few prizes since they're tricky and there's another elderly couple beside them winning a lot of prizes and that left the girls stunned.
Next, they checked out the new movie, 'Inside Out 2" and had fun understanding the emotions as they ate popcorn and drank soda.
Then, they shopped for clothes and had fun fitting them. In the end, they all have shopping bags as they left, chatting about the styles and the designs of the outfits.
And now, lunch time at 1pm and the girls are at Papa Giovanni's Pizzeria, an Italian restaurant waiting for their food as, "Hey Emma, Lucy, are you two currently dating someone?" Patty asked.
"Why yes we are!" Lucy made her move as she showed her friends a picture of herself and Van.
"What? You're dating Van?! Aw man..." Patty felt distraught by this as, "You know him?" Lucy asked.
"We once investigated a scene regarding a 'mermaid'." She revealed to her as, "He looks nice. How did you 2 fall in love?" Sally asked.
"Actually, I fell in love with him because he did something selfless for me." Lucy told the girls her story and they're greatly amazed. "So that is why you have full control of your powers! I'm so happy for you!" Sally cheered as she and Satsuki hugged Lucy as they cheered together.
"And what about you Emma?" Chloe asked her as she whipped her phone out and showed the girls their homecoming dance photo.
"Aw..." They really are happy for her as, "I must have seen it before and liked it!" Agatha exclaimed.
"Me too!" said Patty.
"And I wonder, what are your boyfriends doing now?" Chloe asked Emma and Lucy as they looked at each other. "They're doing their own activities..." Emma answered with Lucy nodding her head.
It cuts to a basketball court as Van is seen playing with his old friends and they're in the midst of a street ball tournament and it's the finals as the game begins with Van leading the team.
And then, another scene shows a multi-purpose hall and at the bleachers, Kappei is seen eating hot-buttered popcorn and drinking a large coke while watching a kendo tournament. There at the arena, "Jimmy has improved so much throughout the years! Ever since we first met and I helped him improve on his skills and confidence, he's matured and has become a pro in this!"
And yes, it is the final round and Jimmy is there, ready to fight. But first, he waved to Kappei and he waved back. And with that, the final round begins! "DING!"
Now back to the girls as their lunches have arrived. There's a large plate of seafood aglio olio which has onions, shrimp and scallops, a platter of lasagna and a basket of garlic bread. Oh yes, the girls have their own sodas as, "Lunch time!" Patty cheered as the girls began helping themselves to the scrumptious food.
"We should do this more often!" said Agatha.
"At least we have 2 more months until school begins again." said Satsuki as the girls feasted together and after that, they continued their mall fun.
Around 4pm...
Lucy, Emma and Chloe decided to go for a stroll at the park. The other girls on the other hand need to head home for their own personal reasons as the 3 girls strolled together.
"It's been so long since we hang out Lucy." Chloe told her.
"And it was fun like old times!" She replied back as they laughed together.
All of a sudden, Emma's hearing took effect.
"Everyone in position? If so, attack those chicks!"
"We got company. Bad company." She told them as she whipped her phone out and already, bikes skidded in as, "So we meet again! You and that freak are going down!" Luther and his gang whipped out chains and shanks as all eyes are on Emma and Lucy. "One of my boys was able to see and tell me who did all this wrecking at us! You'll pay for this you stinkin skanks!"
"How offensive..." A disgusted Emma exclaimed.
"You guys love to fight dirty huh? Fine by me! I also fight dirty!" Lucy manipulated a sign post as it turned into a tendril and hit one of the gang members. However, another one whipped out a slingshot, loaded a pebble and fired it. "KSH!"
"What the-" Lucy cancelled her attack as 4 more used slingshots to shoot pebbles at Lucy and Emma. "OW! OW! Quit it!" Emma called out and a stone hit her on the forehead and another hit her on her right cheek.
"Emma!" A furious Lucy set her gaze at the gangsters and used her powers to give them a whipping as a trash bin was morphed into a metal pole and she sent it down destroying their bikes!
"NO! I just finished the paint job!" One of the gangsters exclaimed as Lucy manipulated their weapons as the metal parts became short sticks being pulled back and, "KSH!"
All got hit on the face as, "Screw this! Let's use them now!" To the girl's shock, the whole gang drew out Glocks and fired warning shots on the ground in front of the girls as they screamed and huddled together. "Say goodnight." Luther smirked as the gang took aim at them when, "IOOM!"
Orbs suddenly bounced in hitting a few with explosions and fire and wind blasts shot in. "Yes! They're here!" Emma cheered as behind the gang, "You mess with our girls, you mess with us!" Kappei called out.
"You won't get away with this!" Van called out also as the boys unleashed their awakened powers. Orbs bounced and exploded, fireballs, lightning bolts, cyclone blasts and aqua spheres were unleashed elementally.
The entire gang is thrown into disarray as their attacks blasted them aside. Some stood up with swift recovery and tried to attack the 2 boys but they repelled them using their ninja moves as Luther made his move by pushing Emma and Lucy down, grabbed Chloe and put a knife near her neck. "STAY AWAY FROM ME! OR SHE GETS IT!"
"A desperate move to save your own skin. What a coward you are. Leading a third rate gang that can't even give us a proper fight." said Kappei as he and Van nodded at each other and, "ZIP!"
"What the? Where did they go? Those damn bastards!" Luther looked around when, "Knock. Knock."
"Who's...there?"
"POW!"
What a punch as Luther fell onto the ground defeated as, "Man this guy's got a glassjaw." Van told Kappei and he nodded in agreement. "Oh yeah, I got your text message about this. Good thing we're nearby and we just finished our activities." Kappei told the girls.
"I can always count on you to save me! My hero!" Emma threw her arms on Kappei hugging her boyfriend tightly as he did the same. And then, "So you're Van! The basketball pro and Lucy's boyfriend!" Chloe exclaimed.
"Yup! That's me!" He replied.
"And you look really handsome like in the picture Lucy showed me!" Chloe then decided to try something new. "Tell me something, who's milk jugs are bigger? Mine or Lucy's?"
That made Van cringe and his face was completely flustered from her question as Chloe moved close to him even gesturing him to eye on her chest size. Lucy on the other hand, twitched from Chloe's words as some deadly aura appeared around her. "That's my Vanilla Vannie Boo!" She thought and her rage is starting to build up when, "Lucy, she's only teasing you." Emma calmed her down and she complied. "Van, you womanizer!"
"I-It's not what it looks like! It's unexpected!" He replied as Chloe laughed about it.
"You better be careful with what you say or do next time, you might play with fire. Even right now." Kappei warned him.
"But I didn't expect it and I never said anything offensive you moron!" Van replied.
"Chill dude. I think it's better that way or do you want piss off your feral girlfriend?" Kappei asked when, "FERAL!? WHO ARE YOU CALLING FERAL YOU COTTON CANDY-HAIRED BOY!"
"Cotton Candy!? Says the one who has blue and pink as their hair color!" Kappei replied back.
"Do you wanna go!? Lucy asked in rage as she activated her power.
"Yeah, I do! And I'm gonna win this!" Kappei replied as he summoned an orb of water and an orb of wind as both got ready when, "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I did not sign up for this peacemaking task!" Emma stepped in to stop her boyfriend and best friend from doing collateral damage around the park and from wrecking each other.
"I really like this friendship." Chloe told Van.
"Yeah. We hang out and sometimes beef over something in a silly way." Van replied as they watched Emma pacify the situation. As they watched, Luther regained himself and snuck up behind them. He kicked Van by surprise and grabbed Chloe! "HELP!"
"Oh no you don't!" Lucy got ready but Luther picked up his Glock and pointed at them while walking back with Chloe locked around his arms. "Yeah you better not do anything stupid. This hot girl will be mine forever! No matter what happens, I'm gonna-"
"WHACK!"
"Mommy...I want to stay home and bake cookies with you..." Stupid Luther fell on the ground defeated completely and letting go of Chloe as she stumbled down. "Sorry I'm late. Took me some time to find the boys in blue and report this mess to them." Jimmy told them as he kept his shinai behind his back with the cops behind him as they made their move. Within minutes, the entire bike gang are all rounded up, put in cuffs and taken away. Jimmy then approached Chloe and gave her his hand. She noticed it and took it as he helped her up. It was at that moment that it happened unexpectedly.
"Whoa...this boy is so cute...a handsome face and his hand is soft to the touch..." A flustered Chloe thought.
"No way...this is the first time I'm seeing a cute and pretty girl...I'm even looking at her bust size..." A flustered Jimmy thought.
Both are left speechless as they had a bit of difficulty on how to assert this awkward situation as they shyly looked around trying to think of something. Kappei, Van, Emma and Lucy took notice of this and they began snickering among themselves.
"Um...hi?" Chloe began.
"Hey...uh...Jimmy."
"Chloe."
Well that was awkward between them and, "Oh look at the time, I need to head home. But first, wanna exchange contact Chloe?"
"Y-Yes! Sure th-thing Jimmy!"
Done and done as the others went to Chloe. "You got yourself a hot boy crush. Perhaps we can help you in that." Lucy teased and poked her cheek.
"Oh stop it!" She replied with laughter as, "You won 2 rewards today Jimmy. The gold trophy from the kendo tournament and a hot girl that is interested in you." Kappei thought with respect.
And with that, all split up and headed home with Chloe looking forward to more fun times with Lucy and her friends.
Alright! Lucy was able to hang out with Chloe, rekindle her friendship with Sally and Satsuki and befriended 2 more girls! Oh yes, Emma too got the chance to hang out and be friends with the 5 girls.
And wow, Chloe you bold and daring girl. Teasing Lucy by flirting with Van was crazy! But yes, those 5 girls will make more appearances in the entire story. Oh, that includes Jimmy from Episode 39 in case you might forget about it. Well if nothing else, see you in the next chapter!
