Jasiri P.O.V.:

It's Thursday and Makuu and I just finished our budget presentation, and the end of which also coincided with the end of my workday. Which is good because I really need a break.

That meeting was exhausting and I was still nervous when the museum board, including Simba, said that he'll need time to think about the proposal and they told us that they will give us a final response in exactly a week.

I initially felt confident, but with Simba and the other board members meticulously scrutinizing every detail of our proposal. This made me more nervous because they did not seem to be very enthusiastic or curious about our hopes of getting new equipment and supplies for our lab.

Since it is Thursday, this is the time where I usually meet up with Makini to talk about stuff going on in both of our lives. I've heard that Edwin actually does the same thing with Beshte sometimes.

I just changed into my anthro hyena form in my office before I hung up my lab coat, put on my regular winter coat and my handbag. I walked outside of my lab and office space to the stairwell that leads to the lower floor of the museum.

I walked down the hallway towards the doors to the parking lot where I saw Makini, already in her olive green winter coat and anthro mandril form.

"Hi Jasiri, how was your day?" Makini enthusiastically asked.

"Oh boy….it was rough. Makuu and I did the best we could, but Simba and the administration board kept dissecting every detail of our proposal and said that they will give us a response in a week….that just makes things more nervous." I replied as we walked out the door.

"That sucks, and I'm nervous too. My lab also has a budget meeting next week." Makini said with a sympathetic expression on her face.

"Oh yeah, Edwin told me about that over the weekend." I replied.

"Anyway, I am glad that we are having another one of our girl's nights tonight." Makini said as we headed to her car.

"Yeah, me too!" I said to Makini.

We soon got in the car, and I was texting Edwin to let him know about how my meeting went and to let him know that I am alright.

We soon arrive at the diner where we usually hang out for when we want to talk with each other about both personal and nonpersonal aspects of our lives. We began to talk about stuff with our jobs, personal lives, our research and even some current events. I also talked about my relationship with Edwin and how we decided to move in with each other in February. Makini seemed ecstatic about that news.

"That is great news. You two are so cute together! I'm sure that everything will go fine in the long term….And Jasiri….there is actually something I want to tell you about my own romantic life….." Makini said with a shy expression on her face developing in the last part.

"Okay…what is it?" I asked.

"Well…..I actually have feelings for this guy….I've known him for a while…or I should say….WE know him…actually before we became hybrids and started living in the human world….He has always been a constant presence in my life since my youth. He is so optimistic, caring and good-natured….Which is a lot to say because he has been through a lot of negative experiences, yet he always seems to persevere through it all…and that is something I really like in a guy." Makini said with a giddiness in her tone, as if she had butterflies in her stomach.

Based on what I heard and what I already know from a previous conversation, I have a good idea who she is talking about.

"Really?...Who is this person we both know?" I asked.

"Well….if you promise not to judge me….." Makini asked.

"Don't worry Makini, I promise that I will not judge." I reassured her.

"Well….I have romantic feelings for Beshte." Makini revealed.

I knew it….I knew that she had feelings back for Beshte….Beshte is probably going to be ecstatic to know that she has feelings back for him….But I won't tell Makini immediately, as part of my promise to Beshte.

"Beshte huh?...I never would have expected that." I said while I tried to act curious.

"Well, he is always so sweet and enthusiastic…..which impresses me how he still is considering all the stuff he has gone through. I always loved how he always manages to find a light at the end of the tunnel. I remembered that when we were heading to the Tree of Life, the Lion Guard were trying to find one of the landmarks on the pathway in this particular area, which was particularly nostalgic for me because they were places where I shared intimate memories with my parents. Almost every member of the guard, especially Kion, got irritated every time I recalled a memory with my parents….All except Beshte. He really helped comfort me when things started getting rough in both our journey to the Tree of Life and during our early experiences in the human world." Makini recalled in a gentle tone.

"He has always been there for me in times of need, and I feel like that we have a deep emotional connection with each other. I feel that I want to advance it to a romantic relationship." Makini said.

"That sounds so cute, and if you ask me, I think you should probably go for the direct approach, let him know your feelings towards him and potentially ask him on a date. But nothing too extravagant, you want the date to start off as casual like two friends who have known each other for years, like you two are. Eventually you two start to get to know each other at even deeper levels, which will eventually turn the date towards a romantic mood if all things align properly." I replied.

"Okay…but what if Beshte doesn't feel the same way about me?" Makini asked nervously.

"I'm sure it will be fine. If he doesn't, I'm sure you guys can just remain friends. I don't think you should really have a problem, Beshte's a sweet guy and I'm sure he will be honored to go out with a strong, intelligent and caring woman like you." I replied in a reassuring tone.

"Thanks Jasiri, I really needed your advice, and I thought it was pretty helpful because I have been thinking about this for a while." Makini said enthusiastically.

"No problem, I am glad to give you my input. I'm sure everything will go fine with Beshte." I replied.

It's kinda funny to think that Beshte and Makini are actually more compatible than each of them thought. It will be interesting to see how each of them would react to finding out the other has feelings for them.

It was finally Friday, and I was working on preparing large scale Halysites meandrina fossilized coral specimens. Based on our dating of the specimens, they are estimated to be from the Silurian period. In other words, these specimens are estimated to be around 430 million years old. It's remarkable for these intricate patterns of the coral to have stayed intact for so long.

As I was monitoring and taking photos of the specimen, I heard the door open behind me and I turned around to find that it was Makuu in a particularly good mood.

"Hey Makuu, you look particularly happy this morning. Are you as excited about these specimens as I am? Because you can't believe how well-preserved these Halysite coral specimens have been after 430 million years. This will be a great addition to that section of the Evolving Planet Exhibit." I asked.

"Don't get me wrong, your Halysite specimens are indeed impressive and my specimens are also well preserved, but what really helped get me in a good mood today is that my guest for tonight's meeting is actually coming here pretty will actually be joining our usual group for lunch." Makuu said with an unusual sense of nervous excitement.

"Wow, you must be really close with this person Makuu." I replied.

"Oh yes I am and trust me when I say that you will be delightfully surprised too." Makuu said cheerfully and he went back to his lab station to look at his specimens.

An hour or two passed by until our lunch break began.

Makuu wanted to show me his guest for our lunch, so I texted Edwin that Makuu and I will be arriving at our usual table with him and the other genetics lab researchers, a little later than usual.

Makuu and I walked down two flights of stairs to the lower floor where the cafe and main entrance was. As Makuu and I walked towards the area near the lower floor's main entrance to wait for his guest to pass through the security desk to get their pass for the day. And when Makuu gestured to me as to who his specific guest was…..I was shocked…but in a delighted way.

By the admission desk, I saw an older woman who looked to be in her late fifties to early sixties. Her hair was in a bun as she typically did since I have known her, with her typically black hair now showing noticeable gray streaks. She is five-foot six or five-foot seven, wearing thin frameless glasses, brown coat, partial visibility of a lavender cardigan sweater, jeans and black shoes, while carrying a black purse.

Despite changes in appearances overtime, I can still recognize this woman. She was the woman who took Makuu and I in after 'the shaman' gave us those life-changing injections and assigned us to live with her. She was the woman who raised me starting at human age seven to teach me some of the most important, necessary and basic lessons to living in the human world. The woman who has been basically a mother to me since I lived in the human world.

It's Chausiku, the guide who lived with Makuu and I and prepared us for our lives in the human world.

She soon turned around and she had her eyes on Makuu and I. She soon started to walk towards us slowly raising her arms in a gesture that she was about to hug one or both of us. Makuu and I approached her for an embrace. She and I began to embrace each other.

"Oh my goodness! Chausiku, what a pleasant surprise!" I said as we hugged each other.

"Oh Jasiri! I am so glad to see you! My, it has been a while since I have last seen you sweetie. I still can't believe how much you have grown since the first time I have seen you! I've missed you so much!" Chausiku said in an enthusiastic tone while we slowly ended the embrace.

"I've missed you too Chausiku. So how are things back in Milwaukee?" I asked.

"They're going just fine, nothing too outside of usual. As you know, like Chicago it gets cold there too!" Chausiku replied as she started to head towards Makuu.

"Hi Makuu, even though we already saw each other last night and this morning, I want to thank you again for taking the time to invite me and offer me to stay at your place for the weekend." She then said while giving Makuu a light embrace.

"It's no problem Chausiku. You are welcome to come here or stay with me anytime you want." Makuu said.

"I think it will be fun to get to know more about your workplace and your lives outside of what you describe through phone calls and messages." Chausiku said as she took off her coat.

"This is actually a good time for that because we are actually planning to have lunch with the people of the genetics lab, which actually includes my boyfriend, Edwin." I told her.

"Ohhh…..So I finally get to meet the famous Edwin that you have told me about? This should be interesting!" Chausiku said.

The three of us soon walked towards the museum cafe. We eventually met up at our usual table in the cafe with the others from the genetic lab.

Many were intrigued to see Makuu, and I come with Chausiku when we first brought her to the table.

"Hey guys, so this is Chausiku, my guest for tonight's meeting. She was also the guide Jasiri, and I were assigned to when we first entered human society." Makuu said while he gestured to Chausiku.

"Yeah, this woman was basically a mother to me when I was adjusting to human life." I said.

The rest of the group replied with small greetings and started introductions of such, and then I saw Edwin approaching her.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Edwin. I'm…I'm also her boyfriend outside of work." Edwin said nervously.

"Oh I know who you are…..Jasiri has sent me photos of you and has told me a lot about you…." Chausiku replied.

Edwin started to get a little a little nervous and Chausiku started to notice this, and I started to chuckle a little because I didn't say anything bad about him.

"There's nothing to worry about, Jasiri said nothing bad about you. In fact she actually said a lot of good things about you." Chausiku said in a calm tone, letting out a small laugh.

We soon just started to talk to each other in a casual manner. Though I did become slightly embarrassed when I found that she brought old photos of me when I was younger.

One of the photos she showed was a photo of her, Makuu and I in Milwaukee. Makuu and I were in our human forms in the photo. I was about human age thirteen in that photo, around a month or two before my goth phase. My hair was in its typical black and indigo patterns, but it was wavy, with some parts going down to my shoulders while the top part of my hair was tied back. I was wearing a sleeveless purple dress with a black choker necklace with a lace like pattern. Makuu had short black hair, wearing a gray suit jacket, white button-down shirt and black tie with black dress pants. Chausiku has her hair in a braid tied in the back of her head, wearing a sienna-colored dress and a thin gold chain necklace around her neck.

"Oh yeah, I remember this! That was when we went to Ms. Santy's wedding." I said.

"Wait, who's Ms. Santy?" Makini asked.

"She was an old neighbor of ours back in Milwaukee. She lived in the apartment on the floor above ours." I replied.

"Yeah, I remember her! We were close to Gloria Santy. I haven't heard from her in a while, how has she been doing?" Makuu said, later turning towards Chausiku.

"Well, she actually moved to South Carolina because her job transferred her there." She replied.

"Really? I hope she enjoys it there." I said.

"Based on the emails I get from her; she seems to be doing fine." Chausiku said.

Chausiku then proceeded to take out another photo, but this time it was a photo that Makuu and I also have copies of.

It was from around my third day of being in human society, at human age seven. Living among humans was still incredibly new to me at the time….I can't believe all that time has passed already.

In the photo, I was wearing a dark blue top with red patterns on it, along with a long dark green skirt and green sandals. I was standing against a tree. I remembered Makuu and I being so confused at the concept of clothes at first. I also remembered being so nervous back then.

"Wait…..Jasiri…..was this you?" Pete asked.

"Yeah, that was me, shortly I became a hybrid. I remember being very confused about the concept of clothes and cameras when that photo was taken…..Actually during that time I was asking about a lot of stuff back then." I replied.

"You looked like an adorable kid back then!" Edwin said. This made me laugh a little.

"You don't have to lie to me Edwin….you see the photo, I was an awkward looking kid back then." I replied.

"Are you kidding me? You WERE an adorable kid! If you want to see an awkward looking human form, I have a picture of Makuu shortly after he became a hybrid." Chausiku said as she started to go through her purse.

Makuu started to get visibly nervous and many of us started to laugh a little.

"Uhhh….that's okay Chausiku, we don't need to see that photo. It really isn't-" Makuu said before Chausiku interrupted him.

"Found it!" She said before laying the photo on the table.

The photo depicted Makuu taken around the same time as my photo was. He was sitting on a chair, wearing a dark blue short-sleeve shirt with a collar, salmon-colored shorts, and a pair of old brown sandals. His hair was a little disorganized in this photo as well and had an awkward smile on his face.

As soon as we looked at the photo, many of us started to laugh.

"Don't judge! In that photo I was just learning what cameras were and I think that was when I was given some old clothes from one of Chausiku's neighbors at the time." Makuu defended in a joking tone.

We soon finished our lunch and started to head back to our labs and workstations. But I just had to use the bathroom.

"Excuse me guys, I'm just going to go to the restroom, I'll be back in a minute." I said before leaving the group to head there.

Third Person P.O.V.

After Jasiri left to go to the bathroom, Edwin was about to start heading back to his lab until she heard a voice calling to him.

"Edwin! Come here! I want to talk with you!" Chausiku said in an enthusiastic tone.

Edwin soon slowly approached where Chausiku and Makuu were standing.

"Okay, what do you guys want to talk about?" Edwin asked.

"I just want to say it's a pleasure meeting you. You seem like a very nice person and I hope that you and Jasiri will continue to have a long healthy relationship." Chausiku said.

"Thank you, I appreciate it." Edwin said.

"I just want to warn you that if you ever harm her in any way, you will be hearing from me. Jasiri has been hurt by previous boyfriends before. One cheated on her, and the other physically and emotionally abused her. I guess even when you don't seem like the kind of person that would hurt her, I guess I can still be a little cautious whenever I hear about Jasiri dating someone. I guess you could say it's like a parent who still gets concerned with their child sometimes, even when the child is grown up." Chausiku said.

"Don't worry, I promise that I will never hurt Jasiri in the same way Kion or that other guy did. You have my word on that." Edwin replied.

"Yeah, I also told him something similar a few months back. He understands that Jasiri is like a daughter to us and we just want for her to be happy." Makuu said as he started to stand next to Chausiku.

"That's totally understandable. I want her to be happy too. I'll make sure to be an open-minded boyfriend for Jasiri in the best way that I can." Edwin said.

The three continued their conversation for two minutes until Jasiri finished using the restroom.

Jasiri P.O.V.

We spent the rest of our day mostly observing, taking notes and preparing our Silurian era specimens. Soon, it was sometime past four o-clock and Makuu and I soon transformed into both our anthropomorphic hyena and crocodile forms respectively. We then mostly cleaned our stations before hanging up our PPE and lab coats for the week.

I went out of my office and lab to meet up with Edwin to help Kendall and Jamal into the museum.

"Hey sweetheart, how has your day been?" He asked while we embraced each other.

"It was good, Makuu really surprised me by bringing Chausiku here. I also analyzed some interesting specimens that we received from the archeological site from Australia. How about you? How is your day?" I asked him.

"It's been good. I purified some of the enzyme proteins from our lichen epithelial cells and soon we will conduct a kinetic enzyme assay to determine the differences of enzymatic activity between variant and wild type forms of the enzyme we are studying." He replied.

"That sounds interesting. Seems like you guys are really making progress on your research." I replied.

The two of us soon talked with one another, he even discussed his cute little conversation with Makuu and Chausiku. It's kinda funny and annoying that even when I am a grown adult, they occasionally still get protective over me for some reason.

The two of us walked down both sets of stairs to the entrance of the lower floor of the museum. We then waited for a few minutes until we saw Jamal and Kendall's car parked in the parking lot. They soon got out of the car. We soon saw them walk through the front door where we greeted them.

We talked for a minute before we headed down the hall where the meeting room was.

"So, we were on Racine Avenue when this person in a Lexus cut us off, and he started driving; they were going like 10 or 20 miles below the speed limit and it was a fairly clear street with little traffic, so there was no reason to go that slow. I swear that they were doing it on purpose, just to tick us off." Kendall said.

"Yeah, I was squeezing my hands on the wheel when we were behind that guy, and I already had a busy week at work….But hey, that's all in the past, I'm just ready to relax, try something new and see where this event takes us." Jamal said.

"Don't worry guys, our meetings are usually pretty chill, and plus we've all had busy weeks at work based on what I heard." Edwin replied.

"Yeah, it's true. For example, my boss and I had a meeting with the museum administration to discuss our fossil preparation's lab budget, and the museum's president basically eviscerated our plan and said that he will give us his discussion next week." I said.

"I'm sorry to hear that your meeting was stressful, Jasiri." Jamal replied.

"Yeah, those kinds of meetings are always stressful." Kendall said.

"Yeah, my lab and I have the same kind of meeting next week." Edwin said.

We soon approached the entrance area to the meeting room where I saw both human museum employees and hybrid employees, who like me were in their anthropomorphic animal forms, with their human guests.

We soon see Makini, in her anthropomorphic mandril form, with a human male who looked to be in his seventies, or possibly in his eighties, wearing a brown cardigan sweater, matching pants, gray hair in a buzzcut and a cane.

"Hey guys, I would like to introduce you guys to Linus, he lives across the hall from me in my building. Linus, this is my colleague Edwin, and Jasiri, who works in our fossil lab and is also Edwin's girlfriend. Plus, their human guests whose names I don't know." Makini said as she gestured to the older gentleman and then to us.

"Nice to meet you, Linus. Oh, and Makini, these are our guests Kendall and Jamal. I went to high school with Kendall and have been friends since then, and she has been dating Jamal for I believe a little over a this is Makini, she works in the genetics lab with me." Edwin said as he gestured to our two guests.

"Oh, and Makini, you and Kendall might have actually met before." Edwin continued as Makini shook Kendall and Jamal's hands.

"What do you mean?" Makini asked inquisitively.

"I'm not sure if you remember, but like around twelve years ago, around 2008, I was on the girls volleyball team for Hemingway College Prep High School, and there was a match we played against Baker High. In this match, a player accidentally spiked a volleyball to my head, and I think I might have seen you in your hybrid form in the locker room after the game." Kendall said.

"Oh my goodness….That was you?! I can't believe that after all that time we actually end up encountering each other again. I had no idea that you and Edwin knew each other. I guess that saying is true, everybody knows everyone in one way or another. I really hoped that no permanent damage occurred because of the volleyball accident." Makini said in a sympathetic tone.

"Don't worry, I remembered just suffering some mild pain for a week or two, some headaches and I initially thought your transformation was just a hallucination. Now that I know that it was real, I can cross off hallucinations and it was just pain and headaches after that. So there was nothing permanent or nothing for you to worry about." Kendall replied.

"Also, since you two works in a lab and such, do you know anything about this coronavirus that I have been hearing on the news?" Linus interjected, gesturing to Edwin and Makini.

"Well, our lab has no projects involving that particular strain of coronavirus, but I have heard that the first case or two in Chicago were confirmed recently. I just hope that it will be controlled quickly because based on what I know about the virus so far, it spreads in a similar way to the flu, so if you exhibit flu-like symptoms, try to distance yourself from other people." Edwin said.

"Yeah, and I hear they might have a fast mutation rate, and I'm afraid that multiple variants of the disease might be possible, so I really hope this isn't another H1N1 pandemic." Makini replied.

After Makini and Linus went to talk to people elsewhere, the four of us walked around and chatted with other museum coworkers and some of their guests. This included bumping into Makuu and Chausiku again, Anga and her boyfriend Fabian, Timon and his boyfriend Gary, Ma Tembo and her friend Alisa, Ono with his friend Sardar, Twiga and a guy she is seeing named Ramiro, Vuruga with her friend Cleo, Kiara and Kovu with their neighbors, whose names are Natalia and Nick.

The four of us were conversing with Kiara, Kovu and their guests when Rafiki called for all of us to start tonight's meeting. We then walked in the meeting room, had our usual shares, even letting the guests introduce themselves while giving their own shares, and then we did the usual discussion activity.

We soon got assigned to groups for another 'Exhibit Excursion' and we were assigned to go through the Evolving Planet Exhibit, which is where a large chunk of the museum's fossil specimens are exhibited, so we will be very close to my lab. There is a specimen or two in that exhibit I remembered personally prepping so this will give me a good opportunity to check on those while we are there.

"So far, Edwin, Jamal, Kendall and I got assigned to a group including Ma Tembo and her guest, Tiffu and her guest Nora, Ono and his guest, Rafiki and his neighbor Auda, Pete from Edwin's lab, Aicha from administration, Nguyen from artifact conservation and Sylvester from storage were a part of our group.

We went out of the main room and walked up two flights of stairs to get to the upper floor. During our descent, Rafiki and Aura were discussing their experiences operating the communal garden in their apartment complex. Rafiki went on some long tangents before we approached the entrance to the exhibit.

We entered and started to browse the Precambrian stone specimens that were displayed in the Precambrian room. Soon after that we entered the section where the Cambrian and Ordivician specimens are displayed, which include some Opabinia specimens I handled a while back.

I decided to gesture towards these specimens in their display area just to let them take a peek of specimens I have once handled.

Many seemed to have curious but interested looks on their face, but not in the bad sense. To me that means that there is nothing that seems or appears wrong with the specimens so that's good.

"Wow Jasiri, I find it very interesting that you get to handle and work with fossils for your job. It really sounds like interesting work." Kendall told me.

"Thank you, Kendall, and yeah it is interesting. It is always interesting to observe and potentially try to find the story of species that had lived millions of years ago. When I was a full hyena, I could not even imagine anything even from a thousand years ago let alone millions." I replied.

"Yeah. just out of curiosity, how did you first get interested in fossils and paleontology?" Jamal asked.

"Well, as a hyena living in what we called 'The Outlands', I have seen and have been surrounded by rocks and bones on a daily basis, but I was always curious on how some of the rock formations I saw formed, and in the case of the bones, what was the story of the individual those bones once belonged to. After I became hybrid and entered human society, I was first exposed to the concept of fossils and the field of geology when I learned units about it in elementary school. Then I took Earth Sciences in sixth grade and Life Sciences in seventh grade, in which I think that those courses and teachers at the time really helped solidify my pursuit in my interest in paleontology. I also went on field trips to science and natural history museums many times when I was younger and found them interesting, so I knew I wanted a career related to fossils in one way or another." I replied.

"Okay, sounds cool. I guess that was a similar way with me and computer science but my middle school didn't really offer any intense computer/computer science courses, so I was self-taught in the early parts of it." Jamal replied.

We continued to walk through the section, eventually passing through the sections indicating the specimens of the Siluria, Devonian, and Carboniferous periods. Then we ended up in the Permian period specimen section.

There was a moment where Edwin and I were just randomly looking at the Dimetrodon exhibit together while next to each other and somehow our hands touched to interlink with one another…I let it happen as just one of those random couple moments and we let out a small laugh in response.

We then moved on to the area where they displayed the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous fossils, also known as the area where fossils of the larger and more well-known dinosaur fossils are displayed.

We were walking around just conversing with each other as if we looked like a fossil.

"I remember that when I was younger, I have been on field trips to the Field Museum like two or three times, and this is one of the exhibits that stands out in my memory out of all the times I have been here." Kendall said.

"Same. I remembered coming here both as part of school field trips and maybe once or twice during the summer. I enjoyed my visits here so much, who knew that in the future that I would end up working here." Edwin replied.

"Me neither, I never would have thought that I would end up working here when I was younger." Tiffu added.

We just continued to walk around, look at the fossils in the exhibit and talked about absolutely random stuff. This continued when we entered the new exhibit where Sue, the museum's Tyrannosaurus fossil, is now stored.

"Hey Jasiri, were you by any chance here when Sue was on the main floor?" Edwin asked me.

"Yeah, I remembered when they started moving her fossils from the main floor to this room." I replied.

"Even when I have been a security guard here for years, I still find it weird when I Sue here and not on the main floor." Ono said.

"Yeah, it's kinda funny seeing a fossil that was so prominently on the main floor for years be moved to a different location." Ma Tembo said.

We then walked through the specimens from the Paleogene, Neogene and early Quaternary periods, where we looked at mostly early human and early mammal fossil specimens. We soon headed out of the exhibit, back to the hallway of the upper floor. We soon walked the two flights down to the lower floor and met up with the rest of the people attending the meeting. We just had our end of the meeting discussion and then we left the main meeting room.

Edwin, Jamal, Kendall, and I headed out to the meeting room with the other people. We just hung out in the hallway for several minutes, talking with each other and others around us in just a very casual manner.

Almost half an hour passed by until Kendall and Jamal told us that they had to go.

"We have to go now, but we really want to thank you guys for inviting us to this gathering." Kendall said.

"Yeah, we actually had a good time. If you guys are open to it, perhaps we can come again sometime." Jamal said.

"Sure, that will be great. And it's great to know you had a good time, let's see if we can plan something later on." I replied.

"Yeah, sounds like a great idea." Jamal said.

"See you guys later." Kendall said as she and Jamal left the building.

"See ya!" Edwin and I replied.

We just continued to converse with others in the hallway.

As Edwin and I were walking around, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw Makuu and Chausiku talking with one another.

"Huh, I wonder what they are talking about?" I asked myself.

But what intrigued me more was when I actually saw them leave together and the hugged for quite a long amount of time and then left the building to enter Makuu's car before they left the parking lot.

I did remember that they dated for a year a while ago, did they rekindle some of those old feelings….nah, I'm probably just overthinking it.
