Third Person P.O.V.:
Police officers and crime scene investigators were taking photos and collecting evidence of the scene where Timon and Gary were viciously killed.
Investigators were taking photos of bloodstains on the walls and floors, along with other places in the apartment. They were investigating the bodies of the two victims. Timon's body is lying against the side of the bed, while his boyfriend Gary's body was lying on the floor, looking as if they were trying to escape or call for help.
"Okay, so based on identification documents and neighbor testimony in the hallway, the victims' names are Timon Nguchiro and Gary Wilkinson. Ages 58 and 57 respectively, they were repeatedly shot and stabbed. Though both were a case of overkill, it appears that one individual seems to clearly have more wounds than the other." A female investigator wearing a blue jacket and dark brown hair.
She walked over to approach the medical examiner who was also on-site to take photos and do some early examinations. The examiner was also a female wearing a black jacket wearing blue latex gloves and has brunette hair tied back in a bun.
"That appears to be the case. I found that Timon Nguchiro has between four to six gunshots on his body alongside between 25 to 35 stab wounds and slashes. While Gary Wilkinson has been shot three times and has been stabbed and slashed between 10 to 20 times. It almost seems like that Timon was the main target of the attack….either that or the one who struggled against the perpetrator the most." The examiner said to the investigator.
The investigator then looked at the bedroom window, which was also an entrance to the building's outdoor fire escape and noticed that along with the blinds and curtains being in disarray, the window was broken from the outside.
"Okay, it looks like the perpetrators broke in through the window. We should send some people out there to search for potential weapons or other evidence photos." The investigator said.
Around the same time, two to three other investigators were scanning the living room and kitchen area for the evidence in that area. Since two sets of bloody shoe prints are found, they have a theory that two perpetrators are most likely involved. In particular, they examined the sink which was filled with a combination of water and blood. This was most likely where the perpetrators cleaned their weapons and shoes after committing the crime before they left the apartment. This was also indicated by the lack of shoe prints leading to the doorway.
From the sink, an investigator found two identical knives. They looked like two long pocket knives with gray-silverish blades and black handles. The investigator soon placed the knives in an evidence bag and took photos.
In the hallway outside of the apartment, there was police tape by the door and a male investigator with brownish-blonde hair is talking with Reyna, Ana, and Eric. He was also holding a notepad.
"So Ms. Ramos, you said that the door to the apartment was unlocked, you and your friends went into the apartment, and you walked in the bedroom to find the two victims in their bedroom?" The investigator asked Ana.
"Yes, they were both unresponsive and I told Eric and Reyna to call 911. I went back to see if there was any life left in them or any way to still help them. I could not find a pulse on either of them anywhere, and both of them were cold to the touch. I could tell from the start that it was too late to do anything to save them." Ana replied as the investigator wrote on his notepad.
"Okay, and did you know anyone that would have a potential motive to harm and kill the two victims?" The investigator asked.
"No…Not that I can think of anyone at all who would want to harm Timon or Gary. They were some of the nicest people in our building. Out of most of the times I talked with them, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary or anything significantly negative." Ana replied.
"Yes, that's true, they are very open-minded and caring people. I definitely can't see anyone in this building that would have any intention to harm either of them." Eric said to the investigator.
"Same, before the pandemic, I remember inviting them both over as company on several occasions. My kids also get along well with them. Before the pandemic, they even gave us homemade bread that they occasionally made." Reyna soon said as Eric finished and the investigator was writing in their notepad.
Eric then had a look of sudden realization on his face.
"Something wrong, Mr. Dominguez?" The investigator asked Eric.
"I just remembered Timon complaining about his boss or something a week or two ago…." Eric replied.
"Oh yes….Now I remember…He told me only a couple days ago that he recently submitted his two-weeks notice for his job. He told me he was quitting and looking for other jobs. He mostly said it was because of issues with his boss." Reyna said.
"Okay…what kind of things did he say about his job and boss Mrs. Diaz?" The investigator said.
"It's actually Ms. Diaz….And I remember Timon saying that his boss became incredibly controlling, manipulative, dishonest, and, excuse my language, 'a plain jackass' as he described him. He and his boss also have this weird complex backstory that would take way too much time to explain right now. But he told me that his boss had been getting worse within recent months. And either last week or earlier this week he told me he had it and sent in a two-weeks notice to his boss." Reyna said as the investigator continued to write on his notepad.
Edwin P.O.V.
It's getting late tonight, and Jasiri and I decided to have some fun with a game of chess.
Jasiri, in her anthro hyena form, was pondering on her next move. She was originally putting her hand towards her rook, but she eventually moved her bishop diagonally to where her bishop was two diagonal spaces from my king.
"Checkmate! Good game!" Jasiri said enthusiastically, extending her hand towards me.
I looked at my king, and there was no place to move it without getting captured. Either by her bishop on the right, or her rook or queen on the left. I was trapped. I then extended my hand to shake hers in concession.
"Good game." I calmly said.
"Looks like I won again." Jasiri said with a smirk.
"And damn, that was the third time in a row!" I replied playfully.
"And as part of our little wager, that will be a third week in which you'll be washing the dishes." Jasiri said with a smirk on her face.
"Well, I guess a bet is a bet. It's also getting late, do you want to help me put the board and pieces away?" I replied with the same playful tone as previous.
"Sure Ed." Jasiri said as both of us started putting the pieces away.
All of the sudden, I heard someone's phone ring. I soon found that it was my phone that was ringing.
"Ah, it's Kovu. Let's see what's up with him." I said to myself answering the phone and placing it on speaker phone. At the same time, I think I also heard Jasiri's phone ring.
"Hey Kovu, you're on speaker, what's up?" I said.
"Turn on your TV to Channel 5 News! I mean like right now!" Kovu said loudly, followed by what sounded like heavy breathing and what I could have sworn was crying in the background at his end.
"Wait what?! Okay, I'm turning on the TV. What's on Channel 5?!" I asked in a concerned manner.
"It's bad! Really bad Edwin!" Kovu replied.
I turned onto channel 5 news to see that they are reporting on a double-homicide. Jasiri also sat on the couch near me with the phone in her hand. From what I could tell, I got a sense that Kiara is most likely on the other end of the call. On the screen was a black-haired news reporter wearing a black suit jacket with a light blue button up shirt and red necktie.
The reporters were describing two men that were brutally killed in their apartment in the Pilsen neighborhood, apparently describing it as a potential home invasion gone-wrong. Though there is doubt about that theory due to multiple stab and gunshot wounds.
Then the news footage flashed to two images of the two victims.
"The victims have been identified as Gary Wilkinson, age 57, and Timon Nguchiro, age 58. They were the occupants of the apartment of the crime and were in a romantic relationship with one another according to neighbors…." The reporter said.
Jasiri and I were just shocked when Timon and Gary were announced to be the victims of this crime.
We then stared at each other as the news story continued to play.
"Okay…something is definitely up…" Jasiri said plainly.
"I know. Three of our museum colleagues, ironically all hybrid colleagues, plus one of their romantic partners, have died of either unnatural and suspicious deaths within just a two month period. It seems too much to be coincidences." I told her.
"Yeah, something is definitely off. I believe that all these deaths are linked somehow. And I have my suspicions about who or what might be behind it." Jasiri said.
We continued to watch the news coverage, including interviews with people that were said to be Timon and Gary's neighbors.
Jasiri P.O.V.
As the work week started, all of us were grieving the loss of Timon. This time, when discussing with others at the museum, many have the same suspicions Edwin and I have of all the deaths that have afflicted our museum community recently.
So Edwin and I, alongside with Makuu, Beshte, Makini, Ma Tembo, Vuruga, Pete, Bupu, Kiara, Kovu, and even other individuals such as Fuli, Muhimu, two human colleagues, and even Vitani joined us at the picnic table and benches outside that soon became a regular that became a regular lunch spot for us this recent summer. We were all talking about the deaths of Timon and Gary, along with potential links to the deaths of Rafiki and Zazu.
"Okay, so it seems like that all of us are suspicious, with Rafiki, Zazu, Timon, and Gary's deaths only occurring within a two month span." I said.
"Absolutely, there is no doubt in my mind that these deaths are linked in one way or another." Makini said.
"Yeah, there's no way that all these deaths are just coincidences." Makuu said.
"That's what I was thinking, they just seem to be connected with each other. Three of the four victims are employed at the same place. Two of them died either within or in the vicinity of the museum. And funny thing, all of them seem to be some of the older of us hybrids…" Fuli said.
"Actually yes…..that Rafiki, Zazu, and Timon are also all connected with either earlier Pride Lands eras such as the Mufasa-era Pride Lands and more so…." Ma Tembo was saying before her expression changed to one of morbid realization.
"They were all also connected to Simba in one-way or another…. His cubhood, his time in the jungle, his reign, and his time in the human world. All three were present enough in Simba's life to know a significant amount of information that could be a disadvantage for his mayoral campaign." Kovu said in a concerned tone, raising his eyebrows.
"Though ironically, his campaign is doing far from well, because I think I saw from early polls that he is actually doing pretty poorly compared to other confirmed and potential candidates." Kiara replied.
"But perhaps he would either want to avoid early opposition to his plans….or maybe he wants to eliminate those he considers either disloyal or an obstacle to his attempt to his plans and influence. Because I remember that after that surprise rally and propaganda session Simba held, he was mad that almost everyone left and critiqued his campaign…..Even after, I remember hearing that he has gotten into arguments with people because he thought he could try to 'convince' people that he's right, most have failed miserably. But I heard that he had a conversation with Rafiki that was pretty bad…One I heard happened a couple days before Rafiki died…." I said.
"Oh yeah…Rafiki actually told me about it at the very last Human-Hybrid Alliance meeting he hosted. They told me they had a heated discussion, where Rafiki basically told off Simba on his impulsive and hypocritical nature. Rafiki told him off in genuine disgust of how drastically Simba's behavior and actions had changed and evolved over the years. And based on what Rafiki told me about this incident…..Simba did not take it well. This was like about four days before Rafiki died." Edwin said.
"So are you potentially saying that Simba might have killed Rafiki?" Ma Tembo said.
"I don't know if he was the one who directly killed him, but I got a strong feeling that he played a role in his death one way or another." Edwin replied back.
"And when going off to the topic of Zazu, I remember talking with Lilia, who works in the same department as Simba near his office. She told me that in the late-afternoon or early evening on the day of Zazu's death, Simba requested that Zazu come to his office for a surprise meeting. They claimed to hear yelling that she was able to discern as Zazu was telling Simba off and giving him a piece of his mind. Essentially the surprise one-on-one meeting was really Simba confronting Zazu on how much of a 'traitor' he perceived Zazu to be, and trying to feed his propaganda to him again. After which Zazu laid it on him hard, calling out his hypocrisy, arrogance and stubbornness. Soon after, she saw Zazu storm out of the office." Vuruga said.
"That's interesting to hear. So Zazu and Simba were literally in an argument the day that Zazu was killed? It's starting to sound like a pattern. His neighbor also told us that around the week or before he died, Zazu was actually considering quitting the museum and was drafting forms of a two-weeks notice. Perhaps Zazu was just done and either threatened to quit or told Simba that he quit on the day that he died. And perhaps Simba did not take it well…." I replied.
"I think that might be the same situation with Timon…except that he actually did technically quit and submit a two-week's notice before he died." Muhimu suddenly said.
All of us in the group were surprised because most of us haven't heard of this before.
"Wait….what do you mean Timon quit his job here before he died?" Edwin asked.
"Well, literally a day or two before he and Gary were killed, I believed it actually might have been the last shift before that Saturday. We were talking when he swung by my information desk and told me that he gave Simba his two-week's notice that day because he reached his breaking point with Simba and his behavior, along with disagreements over Simba making cuts to Timon's salary in recent months. Timon told me that Simba then said really nasty stuff about him, calling him a traitor, yelling personal verbal attacks against Timon regarding topics such as his sexual orientation, other aspects of his personal life and whatnot. Then Timon told me that he gave Simba a piece of his mind before leaving Simba's office." Muhimu replied.
"Okay…...Yeah, there's definitely a pattern here. It seems like that Rafiki, Zazu, and Timon were all killed right after some time either telling Simba off or telling him that they planned to quit the museum….thus potentially eliminating any last form of control Simba had over them….or at least according to his mind…" Beshte said, raising her eyebrows in fearful realization.
"When thinking about it…..it's possible that Simba had some involvement…or even was the one who potentially ordered the deaths….." Vitani said.
"That could be very likely. The patterns seem to suggest that he could have ordered or have some kind of involvement in the deaths. But we don't know whether he had direct involvement in the deaths. If he did order the deaths, we need to figure out who he ordered to carry out the murders." I said.
"Oh with Zazu's murder, I immediately think Kion killed him because he literally dyed his hair black a day or two after Zazu's murder. Seemed suspicious to me." Beshte said.
"Yeah, I found it incredibly suspicious that he did that! He was wearing a hat the first half of that week, even after he started showing his dye job, he was quiet and irritable all that week, along with at Zazu's funeral….Now when thinking about it, he seems to have a similar attitude today or this morning. Do you think he might have been involved with Timon and Gary's death?" Fuli said.
"That wouldn't be far from possible…..Wait! I saw him with that cap again on my shift in the lower floor today! Do you think he is changing his hair again?" Beshte replied.
"Maybe, and in my shift on the main floor today, I also noticed Bunga being quieter and colder in his behavior ... .do you think he might have killed Timon and Gary, or potentially both he and Kion did it?" Fuli said.
"Well Timon and Bunga did have a falling out some time ago, and Timon told me that Bunga never really liked his relationship with Gary because Bunga felt as if Timon was using Gary to replace Puumba, and Bunga couldn't seem to handle Timon being in a deep relationship with anyone else outside of Puumba and the father-son-like relationship they used to have." Makini said.
"And from the news, I heard witnesses describe two potential perpetrators who left Timon and Gary's building, so it is possible that both Kion and Bunga were the ones who killed them." Vitani said.
"Okay, so even though we need to find and gather more evidence, it seems like that Kion most likely killed Zazu, with he and Bunga probably being involved in Timon and Gary's death, but we're still unsure about who might have been directly involved in Rafiki's death. It could be Kion, it could be Bunga, or even Simba himself…." Edwin said.
We then just continued to talk until our lunch breaks ended.
Soon, I sent a reminder text to the Human-Hybrid Alliance committee of planning a celebration of life for Timon, along with Edwin and I starting a group chat with Makini, Beshte, Kiara, and Kovu about potentially gathering evidence on Simba, Kion, and Bunga.
It's now Friday night, Edwin, Makini, Beshte, Kiara, Kovu and I are over Kiara and Kovu's apartment and we are discussing stuff about the deaths, including news reports, articles, and accounts from other people from the museum about possible motivations and related events before each death occurred. All of us are in our anthro hyena, lion, hippo, and mandrill forms, except for Edwin as he is full human.
Kiara and Kovu's living room became almost like an evidence room with us taping specific pieces of articles, pictures, and to their wall as a de facto evidence board.
So I was on my laptop looking at the memorial videos Simba made for Rafiki, Zazu, and Timon because something always seemed a little off about those to me. Makini was looking through Rafiki's journal and files of his old entries to see if there are any potential hints of Simba or anyone else's involvement in his death. Kiara was looking through her prior communications with Simba and Kion, both work-related and non-work-related, to see if any hints or implications of anything related to the deaths. Beshte was also looking through previous communications with Kion and Bunga to see if there was any indication of motive, planning, or action along with emailing some old people who knew both him and Kion to learn more about what Kion was like during and after Beshte was discharged. Edwin and Kovu are on their laptops perusing through every news story, obituary, and anything online that covers the deaths in one capacity or another.
"Okay, according to this article about Zazu's death, some hairs were found in his hand. Perhaps we can try to send a request to crime scene investigators to collect DNA samples from museum employees…Or one of us can make an attempt to take samples from them and then send those samples to crime scene investigators." Kovu said.
"Hmm…I don't know Kovu, I don't think Simba, Kion, or Bunga would be willing to give any of us DNA." Kiara said.
"Plus, my restraining order against Kion is still in effect, and I don't see any good of intentionally breaking it because I don't want to risk getting into a potentially dangerous situation for my personal safety." I replied.
"Also, those three are not fans of me either, and I got a feeling that if I am the one to try to get DNA from them, I'll be the next victim." Edwin said.
"Okay, then we can send a request for CSI to collect hairs…." Kovu replied.
As Kovu was talking, I looked closely at Simba in each of the memorial videos, and I noticed a pattern and anachronisms that really stand out to me.
"Hey guys, come here, I found something!" I said to everyone.
After this, everyone but Makini, who is still looking through Rafiki's old journal.
"Oh did you find something in the videos?" Edwin asked me.
"No, I found a good pizza place nearby. Of course, I found something in the videos." I said sarcastically before telling him that I found something.
"So, this is the Rafiki memorial video Simba, and can you see what Simba is wearing?" I asked them.
"Yeah…he's wearing a white button-down shirt with a black suit jacket, and a light green tie." Kovu said as I then pulled up the next video.
"Then here is the memorial video Simba made after Zazu's death, can you see what he is wearing in this one?" I said.
"White button-down shirt, black jacket….and a light green tie." Kovu replied.
"Literally the same outfit as the first video." Beshte remarked.
Then I pulled up the Timon memorial video that Simba posted earlier this week.
"And look at the Timon memorial video, look at the outfit he's wearing…." I said, and I saw the others evolve expressions of realization and surprise.
"It's….It's…the same outfit as the previous videos…." Kiara said slowly.
"He wore the same outfit in every damn video…" Edwin said.
"Are you saying that he might have potentially recorded these videos in advance….like before the deaths even happened…" Beshte said.
"Like as if the videos were all done on the same day?..." Kovu said.
"Yes…..and I found that except with a few individual-specific parts and occasionally switching up some words with synonyms, there are parts of what Simba said that are exactly the same, verbatim. But the clothes aren't the only thing I noticed. Because, when you look closely at the window behind him, you can see a digital clock and one of those little notepad calendars with each day having a different image. As you can see, in all three videos, the calendar is on the same image. And I looked carefully at the times of the clock on each video. Since it was dark in the video and he was in his anthro lion form, I assume he filmed these at night. But look at the times: Rafiki - 8:38 PM, Zazu - 9:06 PM, and Timon - 9:30 PM, only between 20 to 30 minutes different from each other…" I said before I opened a window towards my Gmail.
"Look at the times that the emails containing the memorial videos were sent to us. For Rafiki's….6:58 PM, Zazu's….7:02 PM, and Timon's…..8:10 PM. All of which were sent over an hour before the videos were said to be sent and possibly made. So that means that-" I said before Kiara interrupted.
"The videos were made on a different day than they were sent…" Kiara slowly said, realizing the pattern that seems to be going on.
"Like, as if they were filmed at least a day in advance…..as if they were saving it for something for one thing or another…or until they want to get rid of someone…..Guys, it's possible that he made videos for all of us….." Edwin said.
"Uh guys…." Makini said loudly and blankly, with a disturbed expression on her face, which caused us to turn all our heads towards her.
"I found some stuff I think you should see…" Makini said slowly.
We then all started to approach her.
Third Person P.O.V:
Around the same night that Edwin, Jasiri and others had their gathering, Julia and Nala were spending quality time at their house.
At one point, Julia turned on some music using a Spotify playlist and speakers. The music on the playlist mostly consisted of slow songs from the 70's and 80's.
Julia and Nala were slow dancing in their living room in each other's arms, with Nala in her anthropomorphic lion form. They were dancing with each other, with Nala having her arms around the back of Julia's neck and Julia's arms around Nala's waist. They were both gazing into each other's eyes in an amorous manner.
"I'm so glad that it is the weekend now, Julia. It has been a long week and we finally have some time where it's just the two of us" Nala said.
"Same, it felt like weeks or months since the last time we had something resembling anything of a romantic evening Nala." Julia replied in a cheerful tone.
The two soon moved closer to share a three-to-five second kiss before they eventually decided to slowly move towards their couch. Then they got to the couch where they started feeling particularly amorous and they both decided to sit on the couch and resume kissing each other passionately.
As soon as they finish, and continue to gaze into each other's eyes.
"Nala…..there's something I wanted to ask you….." Julia said.
"Sure…what is it?" Nala asked.
"I love you so much…my time with you for the past two years has been the best two years of my life. Even when we are not in a monarchy, you will always be my queen, the sun to my moon, and I want to continue being by your side every step of the way in our future….." Julia said as she gently grabbed both of Nala's hands as she kept her gaze on her.
"Nala, I was thinking that sometime, either a few months from now…..or even a few weeks from now….we can get married….." Julia said, which caused Nala's eyes to widen.
"I want to continue and evolve our relationship, through both the good and the bad. We have talked about it before, and perhaps we can start planning when to take the next step in the near future. Nala, I know this may be thinking too far ahead, but I can see a possible future where we can grow old together…..something that I never saw with Edwin and Katrina's father for obvious reasons. I want to marry you and further nurture our love and emotional connection with one another. I am sixty-two years old and all my life I haven't felt such a strong emotional connection with anyone like the one I feel with you. So Nala…..what do you say?...Do you want to get married?" Julia said while still gently holding Nala's hands.
They gazed into each other's eyes before Nala's lips started forming a smile on her face and started to develop a tear or two in her eyes.
"Let's do it…..Yes, I will marry you!" Nala said before she began to hug Julia. Around this time, Julia also started developing tears in her eyes.
After ten or fifteen seconds, Nala soon released the hug and firmly grabbed Julia's hands.
"Julia…I feel the same way. Likewise, I have never felt an emotional connection like the one I have with you, and I also want to take it to the next step. And funny thing, when I was a full lioness back in the Pride Lands, you already knew that I used to wonder what would happen if I did run away with Shani, but those were not the only fantasies I had. For example, before meeting Shani and even after Kion was born, I had a fantasy that involves running away from the Pride Lands, sometimes with the cubs, to make it on my own and eventually meet and fall in love with another lioness and in a way, set up our own private little world. Sometimes I set the fantasy of ruling a kingdom, but you know, with two queens rather than a king and a queen. In a way, those fantasies will come true, because even when there is no actual kingdom, but in a way….we can still figuratively have our own little world. Perhaps even more so after we retire in like a decade or something. In a way, you are my second queen to fulfill that fantasy…so it will be a great honor for you to be my wife…" Nala said before she hugged Julia again for another five seconds.
"So…..do you have any plans or suggestions for our wedding?" Julia asked.
"Well, I know neither of us are into large, ostentatious celebrations, so nothing like that." Nala replied.
"Agreed, and I remember you say that neither of us are really into the whole traditional marriage stuff. Neither am I, we both had the experience of more traditional-leaning weddings before we came out. So I am thinking that we try keeping things simple. What do you think?" Julia replied.
"I agree, let's not overcomplicate or over-spend on things. Instead let's get married at city hall or a courthouse instead of a wholescale wedding, and then just invite some loved ones to a nice dinner rather than a formal reception." Nala said.
"Yeah, that sounds great. And it will also save us a lot of money in the long-term. So I guess now we just need to choose a date to do it. Perhaps we can do it later." Julia said.
"Yeah, we can check out the website and available dates later." Nala said.
The two continued to spend time with each other
They continued to hold hands, but that was interrupted when all of the sudden….an incredibly loud bang was heard from outside.
"OH SHIT!" Julia yelled as she and Nala dropped to the floor covering the back of their heads.
Along with the bang was the sound of broken glass and one or two car alarms went off before the sound started to fade away.
Julia and Nala both slowly raised their heads, unscathed, from the ground to check their surroundings.
"Wha…Wha…..WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!" Nala yelled.
"I have no idea…." Julia said before both of them slowly got up from the floor.
They both saw that most of their living room is unchanged except for a few items shaken out of place and two windows with shattered glass.
"Why are the windows shattered and what is causing the car alarms to go off?" Nala said looking at the windows.
"Uh Nala, I don't have a good feeling about this…Grab that chair over there and follow me to the bathroom." Julia said urgently as she unplugged and grabbed a lamp from a nearby table.
Julia headed into the closest bathroom, which has no windows, after which Nala grabbed a wooden chair located in the kitchen area and followed Julia into the bathroom.
They then closed the bathroom door with Nala both locking the bathroom door and using the chair to also jam the door lock so no one from outside could break through the door.
"Okay, for like a second or two I thought I saw smoke coming from the Hendricks front yard.." Nala said.
"What?! I really hope that Michelle and Tom are okay!" Julia said.
"I'll call 9-1-1!" Nala said as she took out her smartphone and started dialing the number on her phone.
"Yes, I'd like to report a potential fire, I heard a large bang and I think there might have been some kinda explosion and I saw smoke from my neighbor's yard and I am concerned about their well-being…" Nala said as she continued to talk to the operator.
Sometime after Nala made the call, both her and Julia heard something that resembled a muffled scream coming from outside their house.
"Do you hear that?!" Julia said.
"Yeah, that sounded like a scream!...It sounded like a female scream." Nala said before widening her eyes.
"It kinda sounds like Michelle's voice….." Nala said in a concerned tone.
Julia and Nala were in the bathroom for ten to twenty minutes before they heard an ambulance and its siren coming from outside.
Cautiously, Julia and Nala removed the chair from under the door knob and slowly went out of the bathroom to their living room. Through their windows, they saw emergency vehicles through the shattered windows and decided to look through the window and saw many emergency vehicles at or near their neighbor's house.
