Surviving Formorrow
Bad Bunny Abuse
Author Notes: Hey, hey-remember when I said I may come up with a few one shots/mini series if inspiration struck? Well here we go, I'm back! Two words in addition to the usual "I don't own digimon bit" as well as the typical warning for spoilers. It's Halloween.
3rd P.O.V
He didn't listen.
"RAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHAHAAAA!" Lopmon felt power surge throughout his pained body as anger glazed his eyes. He wanted power. He wanted to be strong. If for nothing else than for the suffering to stop.
He should've.
His heart shattered into slivers that stabbed at him from the inside out. "Evolve Lopmon!" All he wanted was to be useful. He wanted approval and praise from his partner. Lopmon. It hurt so much.
He could've.
Again and again he tried. Every command he obey. His partner was training him to be taught, so it was ok! Every attack he took for his human. They were friends, so it was only natural that Lopmon protect him right?
But he didn't.
But there were limits right? Didn't Takuma say that? Didn't Agumon agree with his partner that the way Shuji was treating him wasn't right? That's why everything was hurting? "Lopmon-hey Lopmon, calm down!" The power was growing. "Lopmon please!" Darkness was all the little rabbit could know.
He heard Takuma faintly, he heard Agumon's cries, but he couldn't listen to them anymore. His partner wanted him to destroy the enemy in front of them. This power burrowed deep inside him finally came when all of them were at their most desperate.
No one could take that away from him. So Lopmon accepted the transformation, allowing the darkness and hatred to rewrite his being. Taller, stronger, he grew overtowering enemy and friend alike. "Lopmon evolves to...RAAAAAAAAA Wendigomon!" Claws much longer and sharper decorated his hands.
Something wasn't right. "No-Takuma, he's-!" The pain was still there. If anything, he felt worse! Why? He finally evolved! Wendigomon was far better, much stronger than weak, pathetic lopmon. "Get rid of those kemonogami, now!" Shuji...wanted the enemies destroyed.
"Howling Destroyer!" Everything disintegrated in the range of his attack, including the spider kemonogami that had been chasing them for so long. But Wendigomon didn't care about that. "Yes! Yes finally!" Everything still hurt.
Hunger, so deep and agonizing it threatened to rip him from the inside out. He did everything right. He obeyed every order. Protected his partner. So why...when after getting the praise he long wanted-deserved, it felt so hollow?
Why did he feel so wrong? That malice still circled around his being. It wasn't fair! NOTHING WAS! It was only when he looked at Shuji, that he truly understood what Takuma said all that time ago.
These little guys around us may not be human, but they can get hurt. They fight and protect us from danger. They have FUCKING FEELINGS!
He did have feelings. "H-hey what are you looking at me like that for!" Did Shuji ever care about him? What did yelling and his so called 'training' ever do for poor little Lopmon? Did his partner ever understand?
'Every insult is like poison, you add more each and every time, uncaring about how it affects him.'
Poison? Yes poison! That's exactly how it felt. Like something foreign and unwanted slugged its way through his veins, corrupting him from the inside. "Stay away from me! The enemy is over there!" It felt so disgusting.
'He's not the problem though. YOU are.'
Him? HimhimhimhimhimHIM! It. WAS ALWAYS HIM! He never liked Lopmon. Was always so mean to him no matter how hard he tried! "Ahh let me go!" And he tried. And tried. Triedtriedtried and TRIED! But it was never enough. Nothing was! How was that fair!
'Not once...have you ever praised Lopmon. Not a single thank you. I know if I was in Lopmon's position, I at the very least wouldn't want to be your partner.'
Takuma was right. He was always right. Lopmon should've been more honest with how he felt. "Oh my God-he ate Shuji!" He should've done more. Then maybe...things would be different. "Takuma why aren't you and Agumon fighting!?"
'I'd rather die than take the abuse he's been dealing with day in and out.'
Death...yes. That sounded so nice. Even with Shuji gone, his suffering still wasn't over. Nothing's changed. So he'll take every attack. "Wendigomon!" Won't block a single blow. "Takuma-get away from him!" Maybe...the next life won't be so bad.
"No-no Lopmon!" For the first time in so long, warmth embraced his tiny body. "He changed back!? Takuma-" Slowly the world around him was growing dark again. But this time it felt nice. The aches within him fleeting. "T-Takuma?" Something wet fell onto his horns.
The little rabbit tried to open his eyes, finding Agumon and his partner crying. "What is it Lopmon?! Tell us where it hurts!" He smiled at the pair. They looked so sad and concerned for him. Even now, after all the bad things he just did, they cared about him.
All they ever did was try to help. "T-Takuma..." Out of all the humans and kemonogami that he lived with, these two were truly his friends. "Agumon is so l-lucky. I wish...you were my partner too. I'm sorry." Maybe one day...he'll get a second chance.
The end
Author Notes: I am crying and I am dying! SHUJI YOU BASTAAAARDDD! I hate you, I hate this chapter and damn do I hate the fact that this is pretty much guaranteed the first run! Again why is RYO SHUJI's VOICE OF REASON!?
Do you people know how much my heart broke? Do you know how hard it was to continue after seeing such a thing-and even worse EVERYONE starts questioning their partners after the fact!? It wasn't Lopmon's fault! The poor guy needed help and-
