~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Chapter 14: The River Chase and Uxmal Canyon ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

/Camera pans out to a massive shot of Isla Sorna at mid-day, where a giant set of lumbering Dinosaurs bask in the sun nearby. One of them towers above the trees, shaking them all to pieces with its thunderous roar. There is a disturbing sound nearby, no more than 4 clicks to the north. A herd of Iguanadons well as a pair of Albertosaurus' are stalking in the large, 50 foot tall Sycamore trees. They are staring outward at would-be invaders, ready to turn any trespassers into a quick, swift snack.*

/And as the screen zooms in closer to the Eastern Water Tower, a quartet of rugged hunters can be seen tripping over large ferns and vines as they climb and scale this massive structure. In the foreground, a massive set of jaws can be seen…which are clamped right around Owen's right arm, attempting to yank him from the labyrinth within with just one tug. As Diego, Muldoon and Claire slowly continue to scale the massive Tower, they are met in total horror by a grisly scene on the other side. A nest of Pteranadons has taken residence in the tree straight across from them, and they are tearing apart a dead mastodon. But the main feature, and true concern for adventurers now….Is the 22 foot tall Tyrannosaurus which is actively crumbling the wall…and tipping the Tower over for it to topple./

/Muldoon bites his lip and stares on with a very clear, deliberate expression of frustration.*

Diego: "I told you Hermano, that's no normal Tyrannosaur! It's going to topple the Water Tower to fall over on its side soon, if we don't get to the top. We got to release that Air valve up there, and get the power meters back online. No time left!"

Muldoon: "What are you blathering about now, Diego? That beast is here to kill us….Help me distract it and we may bloody well get out…"

Owen: "Help me…It's going to burst through the East door! I can't hold it here for long, we got to get to the top now. ((Owen points to the elevator.)) Figure out how to get that running, so we can hoist up!"

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "ROOOOAAARRR! GRAAAAAAAAAAAWRRR!" ((The massive Juvenile T-Rex shakes the tree nearby, cracking its second large branch in half. It then tips it over, as it comes crashing down on top of the Water Tower…Impaling the Eastern room in a ball of flames.))

Diego: "No Roberto, mi amigo you don't get it…That Dinosaur there….See the marking….It's the first T-Rex, from Ian's adventure in the Lost World….It's Junior, Robert! I'm telling you!"

Muldoon: "That's not bloody possible… ((He fires 4 tranquilizer darts straight into the T-Rex's left skull, beneath its ear drum.) According to Gerry Harding's records, that Dinosaur is for sure dead."

Owen: "No way…..That's…..that T-Rex there, is the one Malcolm saved back when they got stranded on Isla Sorna?! Wow….this is historic. ((Owen stammers, as he continues to climb the Tower moving as fast as possible up the incline.))

Diego: "It is possible, Hermano…Look at its leg…The discoloration of the Leg proves it's got to be him….It is the younger Tyrannosaurus Robert…We have to get out of here!" ((He aims the rail gun towards it.))

Muldoon: "If it is, we got to get rid of him now…This is bloody crazy…" ((He steadies the M4 carbine rifle…and sights up the laser to point straight through the massive Dinosaur.))

Muldoon: "Here goes nothing….We need to kill this beast." ((He shoots more than 7 rockets into the Tyrannosaurus, finally forcing it to drop Diego and leave the man's leg alone.))

Owen: "Wait! Maybe it can be….trained…."

Muldoon: "That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard out of you, Owen…And no surprise either." ((He loads up a large multi-cylinder electric round gun. Just then, he begins firing off dozens of round into the creature…forcing the Tyrannosaur's massive head to fall off the Water Tower. As this occurs, the huge Dinosaur's forearm rips apart the dome at the top…The water pressure was building too high.))

Owen: "Uh, we got another problem…"

Claire: "That tower is going to blow, isn't it!? Under the pressure of that massive beast."

Owen: "Yeah it sure is….Blue! Get moving, go check that control panel there girl….Find out how we can shut the Valve off and cut the steam before this whole dam Tower starts to fall apart!"

Diego: "No Robert, you can't kill it….We got to sedate that Dinosaur!" ((He shoots a large set of concussion grenades into the Tyrannosaurus, forcing it roar in defiance.))

Muldoon: "Oh no, Diego you're joking…Don't be an utter fool… There is no way to do anything like that with this beast…" ((Just then, he shoots more than 16 cattle prod charges into the Tyrannosaur's head. Muldoon rushes to the Eastern Valve and flips them to the right, switching the power on. Water and Fire are finally flying in each cylinder beyond the turbines. Muldoon then quickly starts climbing down.))

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "ROOOOAAWWRRR!" ((It crashes its huge head out of the lower deck of the Tower, then loops back around in a circle. It snaps its jaws and tosses Owen in the air after catching his leg. The Tyrannosaurus was now heading for the lower chamber….as the water spilled out, and the group of them started facing towards the River.))

Muldoon: (He backs up with his double barrel shotgun, and shoots each of the feet of this killer.) "Oh geezuz, Diego, no…..this is such a bad situation, we need to get out to the River. If we can get there now, can turn nature against its own and draw the Tyrannosaurus out to shoot it. And hopefully, to destroy it."

Diego: "This is nuts….not a good idea!" ((He shoots off every last mini gun round he has, into the creature to somehow stun or subdue it. This was not the move to make.))

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "GROOOOOOARRRR! GRAAAAAAAAAAAWRRRR!" ((The T-Rex bellows, as a shirt hangs from its mouth….that says on the front "H. Greenwood." It then angrily shoots out with its jaws narrowly missing Muldoon's head, who now sprints for the bottom. ))

Muldoon: "Keep up Owen, Diego….This won't be a quick ride at all…" ((Muldoon rushes to the bottom of the ladder, firing off rockets as he goes. He moves closer to the edge of the river…and right on cue, he spots the massive Therizinosaurus stalking nearby. Muldoon then shoots 4 rockets straight at the Dinosaur, knocking it back sideways into a cliff face. As he does so, the giant tree topples over into the river channel….dragging the Hunters eastward…towards the shore. He sees vessels parked right at the edge of the water in formation.))

/Right next to the shore, is 2 kayaks. Which gets both Muldoon and Owen an idea, since there are 4 of them. There is no boats so they will each pop into a kayak. Owen then rushes inside the West Kayak, as Muldoon moves into the East Kayak. They begin to push them out further to stream. As they do so, the roar gets louder and louder….intensifying as Claire breaks the glass and grabs an emergency ax./

Muldoon: "Now Diego, row like hell! Row as fast as you can…" ((He shouts as he grabs the signal flare and paddles downstream as fast as can be done in the Kayak…Meanwhile, the massive Tyrannosaur's jaws flip the first Kayak upside down. Diego is now trapped underwater, as its enormous jaws plunge deep into the sea….scooping out part of Diego's leg, in which it seems he has perished.))

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWOARRR! GRAAAAAAAAAAWRRRROARR!" ((The huge Tyrannosaur's head dives deep in the water, and grabs the Kayak pulling it straight into the side of a cliff. Pieces of the flotation fly off in all directions, while Claire and Owen make their way in Kayak two.))

Diego: "Oh god Hermano, it got my leg! Andele get me out, Andelay Robert, get me out now!" ((He fires off a flare gun straight into the eye of the T-Rex before charging up the cattle prod.))

/The thick air is now dense, with the rancid smell of burning flesh. Kayak 2 suddenly soars in the air, as the massive Tyrannosaurus shoots straight out of the water flipping it upside down! *

Owen: "Oh my gawd, hang on Claire! Ahhhhhhhhhh!" ((Owen screams in a terrifying manner, as the massive Tyrannosaur's jaw lifts him clear up in the air, nearly tossing him into a nearby metal pole. He then shoots out 5 bola snares, that explode…shattering part of the Tyrannosaur's massive right skull.))

Claire: "Ahhhh! This is the worst Kayak ride I've ever been on…." ((She screams, as the water begins flying in from all directions. Small creatures can be seen crawling all over the right and left of the river bed, swarming her Kayak and tipping the scales upside down. Then, the channel splits in 2 halves….With channel 1 heading towards a Waterfall pit off a cliff…and Channel 2 heading to the Lake, where they can call for the Helipad to immediately get out of this Island and travel directly to Site C. Just then, the angry Tyrannosaurus shoots up through the water and tosses the Kayak aside, which launches it into the nearby jagged rocks. Large pillows of smoke start to lift off from the hot zone.))

Muldoon: "Oh bloody hell, I told you 2 not to mess with this…That thing truly is the same T-Rex who had the broken leg…" ((Muldoon yells as he fires off 10 poisoned tranq rounds directly into the huge beast.))

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "GRAAAAAAAAAWRRROAARR! ROAAAAAAAAAAARR!" ((It roars in abject rage as it thrashes in the water, and flips the entire Kayak into the side of the cliff. *KABOOM!* One of the Kayaks explodes into a cloud of dust, as it finally becomes apparent that Owen and Claire need to lift off in Muldoon's Kayak instead. The 4 of them begin steering the long boat downstream, paddling furiously into the current which gets faster and faster. As the river spreads outward, things only get even bigger.))

Diego: "I can't believe this….Look under the neck, Robert…It is the Junior Tyrannosaurus!" ((Diego fires up the cattle prod and locks onto the massive beast with both beams. He shoots them at full power, straight into the Dinosaur's massive cranial neck…creating a hole more than 8 feet across. By this time, the huge reptile is whipping around in a frenzy tearing the entire Jungle apart they are traveling down. It scoops up other marine dinosaurs in its jaws, dedicated to swallowing them all whole.))

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "GRAAAAAAAAAAAWROAARR!" ((It then angrily spins around and swims downstream at an incredible pace of 25 knots, as it scoops up Muldoon in its jaws and bites his heel clean off. It then slashes Diego with its tail, flipping him across the river into the ice cold jagged rocks below that 30 meters ahead of the next bend. It then lands a direct blow on Muldoon and flips him over the river canyon wall, sending him sprawling into a nearby jungle. The Kayak finally blows wide apart, as Muldoon reaches for and grabs the emergency ax.))

Muldoon: "Take this you hell spawn…You're not taking us out that easily!" ((Muldoon yells, as he fires off a giant high impact velocity incinerator missile rounds…straight through the cranial cavity of the Tyrannosaurus. He suddenly gets an idea and aims the Rail Gun directly above the river canopy, firing off 24 direct impact shots. As they shake the ceiling, everything above begins falling into the water.))

/Muldoon then grabs the fire ax, leaping into the water off of the Kayak to swing the weapon straight into its long cylindrical neck. And as it does so, it roars in abject anger…as Muldoon begins firing round after round of rockets into the corner of its jaw. Each shot opens its neck a little bit more, until finally Diego and Muldoon are both firing off a dozen rockets into its face. The Tyrannosaurus speeds up, and yanks the second Kayak into the air…..sending them flying into the bridge. As it explodes, the Tyrannosaur's massive jaws bury into the side of the cavern in a rage…trying to eat every last one of them, especially Muldoon. It flips the Hunters upside down with its massive tail, and attempts to circle under the water to shoot out again and rip them apart.*

Diego: "Oh god, Muldoon look out… ((Diego fires off 2 incendiary rounds straight into the shore of the river bank, which causes a large slew of rocks to fall on the massive Dinosaur. He follows it up with 15 poison rounds, that flank the creature…forcing it to fall back on its hind legs. He then tosses 3 cattle prod bombs into the river, forcing the electric current to magnify all the way across.))

/As he does this, suddenly the massive Tyrannosaurus splits the log over the river in two halves…and begins to bury its snout into their bodies under the waves…desperately trying to tear them apart. Diego fires round after round at the creature, hoping to see it fall backwards. Surprisingly it does not flinch, as Owen and Claire begin shooting it with the Rail Gun as well.*

Owen: "This is not what I planned for….Blue! Get in there, and subdue that massive Dinosaur….I can't do this on my own, girl…Get in there and help!" ((He then fires a sonic sounding delivery dart into the creature as the Tyrannosaurus backs up with a massive thud. Claire also shoots it with the same darts.))

Blue: "RAAAAAAAAAAAWWRRGG! HISSSNAAARRL! GRAAWG!" ((Blue launches itself onto the Tyrannosaur's massive back, digging its claws straight in. As the river rounds the corner, she is fighting it off in a rage trying to bite hold of its massive neck.))

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "ROOOOOOOOOOARRR! GRAAAAAAAWRRR!" ((It roars in absolute rage, as it tosses Blue into the corner of an Incan statue. It brings its massive head out into the daylight Sun and slams the side of the mountain, which finally awakens a super predator….the Giganotosaurus stampedes straight into the River's edge and attacks the Tyrannosaurus. Its huge, massive teeth lock down on the T-Rex's right forehead….forcing the Dinosaur to break out of the river and flip the group of 4 hunters into the side of a tree at top speed. They land nearly head first into a tree, which breaks their fall.))

Giganotosaurus: "RAAOOOOAARRR! GRAAWRR!" ((The angry Dinosaur thrashes the Tyrannosaurus into the side of a mountain, where they hurl each other through rocks back and forth. Muldoon has had it, and he fires 7 direct rockets into the Giganotosaurus forcing it to stumble over the tree and fall over.))

Muldoon: "Now Diego, now…Move, move…Now!" ((He fires off more than 13 high impact darts into the side of the massive Dinosaur. As he does so, Diego moves in to shoot off a flurry of bola snares.))

Diego: "Take this you absolute monster!" ((The Giganotosaurus massive head, which disappeared from view for a moment suddenly appears in the trees on land….As it quietly moves in silence, and then shoots straight out to chop part of the Tyrannosaurus right arm to ribbons. 4 poison rockets fire off from Diego's launcher directly into the Giganotosaurus' enormous face.))

Tyrannosaurus Rex: "RAAAAAAAAAOOOAARRR!" ((Its jaws clap back, shattering the tree in 2 halves and forcing the Giganotosaurus to fall backwards through the tree. It then whips its tail around in a rage, swatting Owen clear off into the side of a Sycamore as the 2 king size Dinosaurs battle it out.))

/Just then, the whole basin begins to sink into the earth….As an earthquake tears that area apart and Giganotosaurus is swallowed whole….as it descends slowly into a watery grave. The Tyrannosaurus screams in abject anger, snapping its jaws at Muldoon. Just as it does so, Muldoon fires off 14 tranquilizer rounds into its massive neck….It was finally sedated, and so Owen brings out a harness.*

Owen: "O.k, here we go Blue….We got it, we have captured this Dinosaur….I think capturing it is a lot smarter than killing it….I know you didn't agree with this Muldoon, but now here we are…"

Muldoon: "Here we are….So you're going to keep this bloody reptile….Just know it is your funeral, if anyone else I have warned about all a sudden perishes."

Claire: "I hope you know what you are doing, Owen…." ((Claire screeches, as she and the truck lowers the harness on the Tyrannosaurus. They lead it into the back and lock it inside the cavern.))

Diego: "I sure hope he knows how too, Roberto…This is the most dangerous River ride I've ever been on! Call the helicopter, tell them to send rescue….no more delays…"

Muldoon: "Sure, sure….We got communications back online, didn't we?" ((He motions with a wave.))

Muldoon's voice over the Radio comm: "That's right, no we need to leave Isla Sorna now. No, we are the only survivors so far aside from some Costa Ricans. Where are we going? We are traveling to Site C, that is where…"

InGen Harvest Master: "O.k, Muldoon… We will transmit those coordinates. We're sending some to pick you up and get you out of there in a few hours…Hang tight…They may need to level that island."

Muldoon's voice over Radio comm: "Fine….Get it done now. Come on Diego, we're moving out."

Diego: "Hermano, we still have to get to the Helipad…Look at its arm, you can tell that's the same young Tyrannosaurus…The one Ian first met along ago…that's probably him."

Owen: "Yeah, it might be….it might just be.."

Muldoon: "It might bloody be, yeah….But look alive. We got a crew to rescue, mate."

/Pan out to Isla Sorna, now in evening time as the jungle nestles into the wildlands beyond. About 120 kilometers north of here, is a desolate wet jungle near the base of a volcano. It is also fairly close to a place called Uxmal Canyon, as the camera pans out above a rainy wetland of Isla Muerta at night.*

/The jutting steam vents boil with intense ferocity, as Steingarten continues to climb. He finds himself halfway inside of the Terrace, overlooking part of the Volcano's out-cropping. He was close….300 degree Celsius temperatures and he was close to the Furnace that's inside this Boiler room. He knows if he can just reach it, and reach the terrace, he could see where the Quetzalcoatlus nest is hiding….and maybe even be lucky enough to blow it to bits. Yet as he looks outside the windy passage, he can't help but feel a sense of extreme unease. Four large computer panels, each one containing Biosyn codes and passwords. A puzzle, that hadn't been solved. To top it all off, ancient writing which is sprawled across all five of the key access points. It was a nightmare come to life.*

Steingarten: "What is this…Nima went through there earlier…? In the Ruins?! And this must be the area where Indominus Rex was experimented upon…. ((He shivers at the sight of it.)) 'A.I. VOICE: "WELCOME, RAY ARNOLD. PLEASE ENTER THE DECONTAMINATION SEQUENCE TO PARSE TOGETHER THE STRANDS FOR THE INDOMINUS REX. DO YOU REMEMBER TODAY'S KEY PASSWORD?" Steingarten remembers his field manual, and enters the password "GENETIC DEFECT."

/Surprisingly, it works. Inside is another terminal, yet in the cool darkness behind the vacant counter tops he can see many Hammond journals. Totally abandoned, wet and weathered from time. And in the East terminal, he sees the DNA that makes up the Quetzalcoatlus. Right next to it though he sees something else…A map that pops up on screen. It's a map….of Uxmal Canyon. What? How!?*

Steingarten: "That's where the other machine is located…So I already shut down the main power switch….The Boiler room is going to explode soon…I need to remove myself from here, to somehow get in Dodgson's way and slow him down….I need to get to that Canyon….If I switch this on what next…"

*Suddenly the whole room begins to get boiling hot, and a large pair of deadly eyes appear in the frigid air nearby. It is none other than a hybrid version of Albertosaurus known as Ming-Zo Albertosaurus, which is able to physically fly as fast as a pterosaur…and shoot actual Poison out of its nostrils…..The giant Dinosaur hybrid, while crawling across the arena using Primate legs….Begins to fire huge swathes of venom and ice directly at Steingarten…Who is terrified at what he has run into./

Steingarten: "Geezuz, what the hell are you freaks…" ((He shudders and shoots off 4 direct blasts from the Rocket Launcher, impaling the massive Dinosaur through the jaw more than 3 times. Each hit makes it explode upward deeper into the chamber, as it lights up the arena like a giant jigsaw puzzle.))

Ming-Zo Albertosaurus: "ROOOOOOOARRR! GRAAAAAAAAAAWRROOOARR!" ((It soars in the sky, flying and flapping its massive wings. All a sudden, it tears off part of Steingarten's arm….swallowing the top left of his arm in its huge jaws. Then the place goes eerie…silent.))

Steingarten: "What is that….what is that rumbling in the air…" (((He shoots out his carbine electric splicer gun, and bounces large sonic blasts in each part of the Cavern. He then turns up the temperature to go above 400 cesius, desiring that the excessive heat will force it to overload.))

Ming-Zo Albertosaurus: "ROOOOOOOOOOOAWWRRR! GRAAAAAAAAAAAWRRR!" ((It suddenly dive bombs in, destroying the Vat of Volcanic acid which causes the main particle accelerator to explode. Half the conveyer belt begins to erupt into flames and implode, with Steingarten now running….as fast as he can….but the land disappears the more that he runs….away from the engulfing flames which are now covering this entire Boiler room. He cannot escape, or so he fears…and the Ming-Zo is right as his heels.))

Steingarten: "Oh geezuz…This is too much.." ((Steingarten suddenly lifts out of his survival pack, a long grappling hook shot and shoots it across at one of pylon cables 30 meters to the right. He swings across, and climbs up the cliff of this giant, red tower…where steam pours off in all directions. It is too hot to breathe…too hot to think. He then shoots off 9 direct shots of his M4 Ice Freeze pistol into Ming-Zo.))

Ming-Zo Albertosaurus: "GRAAAAAAAWRRAROARR! SNAAAAAAARRLL! GAAAROOARR!" ((It flips Steingarten upside down, chasing him around the top of the Boiler room. It then dive bombs the center console, forcing it to explode in balls of flame and destructive ice shards. Each time Steingarten fights the beast off, and hook-shots to a higher alcove in the room…the Ming-Zo boomerangs out of nowhere like a sling shot. And this time, it slices straight through Steingarten's left stomach….piercing him straight through. He thought he was dead…But then he hook-shots to the column 5 meters north.))

Steingarten: "Take this, you absolute demon from hell….I will not go, not with you!" ((He turns on the cattle prod gatling gun at full steam, and aims it towards the Dinosaur. He begins remembering how Nima may have died, if she truly has now. And he fires more than 19 concussion grenades blasts straight into the Ming-Zo's huge head….As it tumbles back into a column and flies through the wall. Meanwhile, having lost sight of the monster…Steingarten activates the floor to open. He falls into a new chamber, a large underground canyon. That is when he reads an inscription on the wall.))

/As Steingarten reads the message, it baffles him beyond belief. 'Welcome to the room where time forgot….The raptors here will truly, bake your lot….If you think you have induction….Make your way through the Incan ruins, of Uxmal Canyon…..And if you do not die instead….Your reward lies in wake, straight ahead…" He then hook-shots to the opposite side of the Canyon's main wall, and shatters the entire base of the column. A recording plays showing when Zar Velociraptors landed here./

Steingarten: "Oh geezuz, no….This is an Incan underground palace of death…Not even Dodgson knows this place exists…According to this writing, it's connected to the mines…"

/4 Yellow Eyes glow in the eerie darkness, giving off a sense of unease. As out of nowhere, 4 Zar Velociraptors spawn; the same Dinosaurs which killed Steingarten's friends and team mates. And they prowl in the darkness, staring at him….Sizing him up, and ready to go in for the kill.*

King Zar Velociraptor: "GRAAAAAAAAAAAWOOARRR! HSSSSS RAAWWWRRR!" ((It leaps on the center column while invisible, staring right at Steingarten. He stares at the menacing eyes in terror.))

Steingarten: "Oh geezuz, it had to be you guys didn't it…((He loads the rocket launcher to fire.)) Time for round two, there is no way I lose to you….Not again.."

Pan to Isla Muerta at night, as an eerie silence covers the Island. Time is not on your side. *
