It was just a nice day in Totsuki; school for training future elite chefs. The many students are learning and cooking many dishes that are from many regions and countries. But our attention is more appointed to the Nakiri Mansion; home of the prestigious family who are the owners of the busy school.
The servants are all going around their daily duties in cleaning the mansion before they all bowed respectfully to their Master or Mistress of the mansion; Yukihira Nakiri Erina who came walking by.
"good morning, Milady." The servants greeted respectfully to the young woman who is the current headmistress of Totsuki.
"good morning." Erina replied with a smile as the young lady is wearing a whiteish yellow long dress and a white short wool knitted scarf around her neck. The God Tongue and prestigious great chef of her generation made her way down the stairs as she gently walked down the steps while holding the handrails.
Erina breathes in a rhythm while going down the stairs as she looks a bit troubled because she has one hand holding the handrails and the other hand gently caressing and holding up her 9th month pregnant stomach.
That is right, Yukihira Nakiri Erina is pregnant with her first child whose father is the Indra of Totsuki; Yukihira Soma.
Erina made her way down the stairs before she came face to face with Soma who came out of the kitchen with a white apron on and has a metal bowl filled with sliced and thinly cut cabbages.
"Erina! I told you that I was going to come up with your meal!" Soma called out as he went and placed the bowl to a nearby table before going to his wife. "you're pregnant and sick which means that you shouldn't be out of bed!"
"I'm fine." Erina stated a bit sternly before she sighs. "it is just a small cold, nothing of a big deal."
"you say that it was a small cold, but you came back home last night and fainted!" Soma retorted as he went and helped Erina to go to the dining room. "just falling could be dangerous for you and the baby, remember!?"
Erina sighs tiredly as her husband is a big worrywart after her little accident the previous night.
True to Soma's word; Erina had come home last night a bit ill as she fainted and nearly fell forward if it hadn't been for some servants nearby and had saved her and the baby from having a miscarriage.
'I shouldn't have proposed the idea of Soma going to that live presentation of husbands taking care of pregnant wives…' Erina thought with a tired look as a few weeks back, the young mother had sent her husband to a talk and learn community meeting where soon to be fathers gathered and learn about how to take care of their pregnant wives carrying their future child/children and the dangers that comes over the 9 months of pregnancy. 'he became a totally different person after coming back.'
Erina recalled how at the end of the day she sent Soma to the community meeting; he came back with lots of books, a pregnant mother's clothes, and food that a soon-to-be mother should eat for the sake of the child growing within them.
"just sit down here." Said Soma while pulling a chair for Erina to sit down before pushing it back in gently and slowly so that he wouldn't bump her stomach onto the table.
Soma then went off from the dining room to get the bowl of mutton soup and a few other meals that he had cooked up for his wife and future child.
"I'm basically being treated as a child.." Erina spoke out while sighing before she looks down and gently caresses her stomach; vaguely feeling and hearing the little heartbeat of her child within. "your father really cares for you, Aki. I bet he will babyproof the entire mansion when you come and join us."
Erina smiles while continuing to stroke and caress her pregnant stomach.
"well….this type of Soma isn't so bad once in a while." The young mother muttered before she turns and sees Soma coming with the cooked up and perfectly warm mutton soup along with fruit and vegetable salad with a nut-based dressing which she could tell was made by her husband.
"here you go!" said Soma as he placed down the two meals on the table for his wife. "perfectly cooked and dressed for my wife and daughter."
Erina sighs with a small giggle as she truly loves her husband no matter what.
A few days later, Erina can be seen at Totsuki as she is walking by a hallway with Hisako by her side.
"you have some interviews with the board directors at 3.35 pm, and then a taste testing with 5 Michelin star chefs from France." Hisako stated while reading out Erina's work schedule. "after that, you are free for the rest of the day."
"very well. Call the board directors for the meeting before 3.30, and also prepare the room for the chefs.." Erina spoke out before she weakly went to the side of the wall while gently placing a hand on her pregnant stomach. "and…ugh…."
"Erina-sama? Are you alright?" Hisako asked while quickly helping Erina to sit on a nearby bench. "are you in pain?"
"not anymore." Erina replied while taking a deep breath and then sighs before she strokes her belly. "I tell you, Hisako. This child of mine must have her father's rebelling tendency to get attention, I've been having kicking pains since entering this month. It's like she wants to make trouble."
"t-that's kinda sound like you're having cramps.." said Hisako with an awkward smile before she soon takes out her phone. "are you feeling well now, Erina-sama?"
"I believe so." Said Erina while slowly getting up from the bench and stand up with Hisako quickly prepared if she gets more cramps. The God Tongue took a deep breath and then exhales while sweating a bit. "although…I believe we should cancel the events in the schedule…" the young mother then soon turns pale and in shock. "i…"
"Erina-sama?" Hisako called out in seeing her Mistress' reaction. "what is wrong?"
"Hisako, call Soma…" Erina spoke out while slowly glancing at her aide before looking down to see blood dripping down her legs while the bottom part of her dress is getting drenched. "I think my water just broke."
Hearing her word, Hisako looks down and immediately gets alarmed.
"yes! I'll call an ambulance and Yukihira immediately!" Hisako stated as she called the Nakiri Family's doctor about Erina going into labor and then called some aids in the area to come and help.
Erina sat down as she took deep breaths and then exhales while trying to calm her nerves down but soon winces in pain as she could feel her baby moving.
At one street area near Totsuki, a red Yamaha YZF-RM is zooming past many cars and trucks as the rider is just heading straight for the school at high speed.
The rider of the motorcycle is Soma who looks extremely worried and nervous.
Soma was at his Diner as he had hired some new workers to help in maintaining the place and serving the customers; but just while he was working, he got a call from Hisako who told her that Erina and their baby are in a hospital while getting prepared for the delivery. The young father instantly gets on his motorcycle and just drives straight for Totsuki.
The motorcycle's engine roars as Soma pulls the throttle and skillfully zooms through the street and instantly got into Totsuki's ground. The young man rides his vehicle like a motorbike racer as he passes by many students who seem surprised at his crazy action.
Soma arrives at the Totsuki's medical building which is to take any sick students, teachers, and most prominently sick Nakiri Family members.
The young man parked his bike before he quickly got off while taking off his helmet that he drops to the ground without a care. He runs into the building as he passes by some nurses, students, and sick patients going out for a walk.
Soma got inside as he quickly went to the reception table and asked about Erina. He was then told that she was in the ICU and getting prepped for their baby's delivery.
"thanks!" Soma thanked the nurse working behind the table as he started to run while quickly dodging nurses, doctors, and patients that he run into.
Outside of the ICU; Hisako stood outside while looking worried and nervous before she hears running and turns to see Soma coming.
"how is Erina!?" Soma exclaimed as he looks at the pink haired aide.
"she's going into labor now." Hisako explained before she turns towards the door. "the doctors and nurses are getting her prepped for delivery."
Soma looks at the ICU's door as he was about to go right in when Hisako stopped her.
"if you want to get in, get yourself sanitized and wear those above your clothes." Said Hisako as she pointed to a nearby room that has lab coats, hospital gowns, and many other hospital outfits.
Soma looks at the room as he quickly went in and get prepped.
In just a minute, Soma came into the ICU as he wears a hospital gown over his attire while wearing a hair net over his head. Hisako follows behind and she leads him to the area where Erina is.
Both came as they find Erina on a bed with her legs spread and doctors with nurses going around in helping her.
"Soma!" Erina cried out while looking pained and in tears. "it hurts!"
The husband went to her as Soma held her hands and then pecks her forehead.
"Everything is going to be alright, Erina! Everything is going to be alright!" said Soma in calming his wife who soon whimpers and screams a bit in pain as she is going through the pain that every mother goes through when having their first child. "The pain is only temporary! Just squeeze my hand!"
Erina grabs and then squeezes Soma's hand hard as she cried pained tears while the doctors keep on working to help her deliver their baby.
"Miss Nakiri, you're ready!" the doctor called out as they are prepared for the baby. "please give a big push!"
Erina soon gritted her teeth hard and squeezes Soma's hand very hard as she cried out while pushing her baby out.
"another push, Miss Nakiri! Another push!" the doctor called out as Erina tried to push but she felt so tired with her energy just sapped out. "Miss Nakiri, we can see the head. Please just one push! One very big push!"
"i-I can't…it hurts!" Erina cried in tears. "Soma! It hurts!"
"I know!" Soma replied while holding her. "but Erina! Please! Give us one big push! Aki is almost with us! Just one very big push! I know you can do it!"
Erina shakes her head as she looks like she has no energy left for the push.
"you're Nakiri Erina, there is nothing you cannot do!" Soma told Erina before he went and kissed her lips then held her hands. "you can do this! Just one more big push! For me and for Aki! Please! Just one more big push!"
Erina looks at her husband before she took a deep breath and then started to push once more while crying in tears and tightening her grip on Soma's hands.
Before long the room went silent and then the beautiful cries of a newborn rang out.
Erina huffs in her breathing while still in tears as Soma pecks her forehead and then kisses her lips.
"you did it, Erina. You did it!" said Soma with the happiest smile he could muster. "I knew you can do it!"
"m-my….Aki….where?" Erina asked in a weak and tired voice before they see the doctor coming.
"You have a beautiful and healthy baby girl, miss Nakiri." A doctor spoke out as she came to the two parents with a bundle wrapped up in a pink towel.
The doctor passes the bundle to Soma who carefully and gently carried it, he smiles at the little scrunched-up face and little hands just twiddling around against the towel.
"Aki…" Soma muttered before he looks at Erina and then gently passes the bundle to the mother who gently carried it and is now face to face with her baby girl, Aki.
"my little baby….Aki…." Erina spoke out in a soft voice while in tears as she finally meets her baby for the first time.
Little Aki just let out sniffles and whimpers as her little hands stretched around in the towel.
Erina cooed to her baby as she gently pecks her baby's forehead where there is a small patch of golden-ish yellow hair that is like with hers.
Soma smiles as he leans beside Erina and gently caresses their daughter's head before seeing her scrunched-up eyes slowly opening to reveal little golden orbs staring at the two parents.
"she's so beautiful…" Erina whispered out as Soma nodded.
"yeah…she is." Soma replied while gently poking Aki's little baby cheeks as a finger was caught by her little hands.
Soma and Erina were in their own world with their baby girl who let out a cute babble smile.
Hisako stood by the sidelines as she gently wipes away some tears while silently congratulating the newborn baby.
A few hours later, in a nursery room.
"so cute~!" Nakiri Alice squealed out with hearts popping out of her eyes as she is staring right upon Aki who is sleeping in a crib in the nursery room with many other newborn babies. "look, Ryo! Look at how chubby my Niece's cheeks are! I bet when I poke them, they will be soft and springy like marshmallows!"
"yes…" Kurokiba Ryo, Alice's husband and aide replied in his usual lazy and monotone voice.
At the moment; after hearing that Erina had given birth to the next heir of the Nakiri Family. Nearly every one of the Family went straight to check on the two parents and the little baby girl.
"Alice, you must not be loud." Nakiri Leonora, Alice's mother told her daughter while placing a finger near her lips. "the other babies will be woken up and they will start crying, you know?"
"I doubt it, dear." Nakiri Soe; Leonora's husband stated while adjusting his glasses. "the nursery room now has a soundproof wall that blocks any noises from here to there. But I must say that my granddaughter is adorable." The man then looks away while taking out the baby photo of Alice when she was born. "but no one is more adorable than my little Alice~!"
"hohoho, Erina did her best to make my great granddaughter very healthy." Said Nakiri Senzaemon who sees that Aki is born with a weight of 3.5 kg. "she's going to be a beautiful and intelligent woman in the future. I'm very sure."
"ara, she's waking up." Said Mana seeing that Aki is slowly opening her eyes and soon yawns while stretching her little hands and legs. "my, just like Erina when she was born."
"her hair is of the same color; but look at her eyes." Azami stated while smiling at seeing his granddaughter's golden eyes. "they are that alike with her father."
"Looks like she got more on Soma than Erina-chan!" said Joichirou as he went and hung his arms around Azami's shoulder. "ahahaha! That's my boy, I tell ya!"
"let's hope that she isn't very rebellious like her dad." Asahi stated while eating a piece of beef jerky in his mouth. "I can't like it if my niece is just a rebel."
"That is something you cannot ever predict if a Yukihira is in the connection." Said Senzaemon before he laughs.
Soon enough, Soma came as he is pushing a wheelchair that has Erina sitting upon it while Hisako is following behind.
"Erina!" Alice called out as she went and hugged her cousin. "you're incredible! Just look at Aki! She's so adorable~!"
"I know, Alice." Erina replied while hugging Alice back.
Erina and Soma soon get congratulations from their family members for the coming of their baby girl.
"look." Said Soma as he motions for Erina to look into the nursery room where they see Aki looking around before she wiggles to the side and saw her parents outside. "Aki is a little rebellious, ain't she?"
"gee, I wonder who she got that from." Said Erina with a small smirk at her husband who chuckles.
Aki started to babble as she waved and stretches her little hands around towards her parents.
"looks like she wants to be with her parents." Said Joichirou.
"wait here." Said Soma as he quickly left to find a nurse.
A minute later, everyone sees Soma in the nursery room as he came and picked up Aki from her crib before he went out and then came back to his Family's side.
"here is Mama, Aki." Said Soma as he passes his daughter to her mother.
Aki babbles while waving her hands around towards Erina who smiles before she went and kisses her daughter's forehead and then nuzzles their noses together which made the baby girl smile and laugh all adorably.
"aww~! Even her smile and giggle are so adorable~!" Alice squealed all joyfully. "hey, Erina! Can I hold her!? I'll be really and really careful~! Please~!"
"alright, Alice." Said Erina before seeing Aki just cooed adorably to her. "but just after a few more minutes."
"eehh~! Hurry up~!" Alice whined as Erina smirks a bit before she pecks Aki's cheeks and get the little girl to squeal and giggle more.
