At the Sumiredori shopping District; the local shopping street where the Yukihira Diner is located.
There is the usual crowd of customers going into the diner for a meal as they are all just chattering while eating together.
"order up!" Yukihira Soma; the current owner of the Diner came calling out from the kitchen as he came out while carrying two trays of a regular Ten-don sets. "Two Ten-don sets hot and nice!"
"thanks, Soma!" the regulars thanked the chef who went right back to the kitchen to start cooking against as there are a lot of orders.
"you think you can do this all by yourself today, Soma-chan?" Tomita Yuya of the Tomitaya; a regular of the diner asked while having a meal by the kitchen with a few other regulars. "need some help?"
"I'm fine, Mr. Tomita." Soma replied as he is chopping up cabbages very fast and very finely before he went and threw all the minced up vegetable into a pot that is cooking up a soup. "this much I can do with my eyes close."
"Soma! One Karaage-don and a beer, please!" a regular called out while raising a hand to order more food.
"one Karaage-don and a beer coming up!" Soma replied as he gets the ingredients prepared for the order.
"it must be kinda tough without Joe-san helping out, huh?" said a regular sitting beside Yuya. "but I thought that you had a helper the other day? They called in sick or something?"
"just late." Soma replied as he beat up some chicken meat and deboned it before dipping it into egg and flour then proceeds to deep-fry it. "but I have things under control from here."
"I'm sorry I'm late!" a voice cried out from the front door as Soma along with a few regulars turned to see Nakiri Erina coming in as she is wearing a white shirt and blue jeans with red heels on; the heiress of the Totsuki school looking sweaty.
"Erina, I told you that it'll be alright if you didn't come, you know?" Soma told the blonde haired woman while just focused on cooking in the kitchen. "you still have some work at Totsuki remember?"
"are you implying that you don't need my help?" said Erina with a slightly glaring look at the red haired man. "is that anyway to be grateful for your wife who so gracefully spared her time to help her stupid husband?!"
"right…..Soma's wife got a more important job…" said one of the regulars while Yuya chuckled a bit awkwardly.
it had been 3 years after graduating from Totsuki; both Soma and Erina have married each other as the two are newlyweds who had just come back home from their honeymoon in Paris. Right now; the Indra of Totsuki has been keeping an eye on his Diner after his father passed it to him and left to who knows where while the Nakiri Heiress has been giving him some help with her free time.
"I'm not saying that I don't need my wife's help." Said Soma while taking out a tray of freshly and piping hot cooked Karaage-don and cold mug of beer that he delivered straight to the customer who ordered it before he went to Erina who he gave a kiss on the cheeks then gently placed a hand on her stomach. "I'm saying that I don't want my wife to stress too much since she's going to have a baby. What kind of husband would I be to do such a thing? I am thinking the best for my wife and our baby, am I not allowed to do that?"
Just after their honeymoon from Paris; Soma and Erina found out that she is pregnant and the joy of knowing that they would become parents made the happy couple be in incredible excitement and happiness.
"I'm not such a frail woman, you know?" Erina stated a bit accusingly before Soma went and pecked her lips.
"I know" Soma replied before he went and caressed her cheeks. "but I'm just being overprotective husband and a worrying to be father for my wife and future born child, that's all."
Erina blushes to his response as Soma can be romantic every time she is in a slightly foul mood.
Seeing the scene made some of the regulars awed to the young married couple as a few nodded agreeingly to how Soma wanted to do his work alone just to make sure that his young wife doesn't stress herself.
After a while; Erina started helping in the Diner as she just delivered the meals to their customers while wearing a white apron over her outfit and Soma stayed in the kitchen to cook up the ordered meals.
The day goes on as Soma with Erina satisfied the customers in the Diner with the cooked food; everyone always having satisfied faces after they ate the food.
After some time, the day slowly become eve and the sun was setting.
"Thanks for the meal, Soma-chan!" Yuya hollered as he and a few other regulars exited the diner after paying.
"Thanks for coming, Tomita-san! come again!" Soma hollered back as he walks by while taking away emptied plates and bowls.
With the time passing, the Diner is now closing as Soma had decided to close the place when the sun sets.
"Thanks for your hard work, Erina." Said Soma as he placed down a glass of cold oolong tea for Erina who sat by the bar.
"Thanks." Erina replied as she takes the glass and took a few sips before letting out a satisfied sigh. "I still can't get used to the fact that this Diner always gets busy with regular customers…everyone came by for every meal of the day."
"that's the life in a Diner." Said Soma as he is now cleaning up the dishes. "Regulars tend to come by when they want either breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It gets more busy during the golden week."
"I guess so." Said Erina before she takes a gulp of her oolong tea and then let out another satisfied sigh. "doing this is a lot tiring but better than doing paperwork back at the school."
"got to agree on that one." Soma replied with a grin while chuckling.
An hour later, the married couple decided to rest as they stayed in the Diner than going back to the Nakiri Mansion where they would usually stay.
Soma and Erina are up at the second floor as both are in the bathroom's tub. The red haired chef has his wife in an embrace while they soaked in the scented warm water.
"not too hot, right?" Soma asked as he pours some water on Erina's shoulders.
"no, it's just right." Erina replied before she moans in satisfaction as her husband began to massage her shoulders. "just a bit down…a bit more down…."
"too much down and I might get naughty, Erina~" Soma whispered to Erina's ears as this got the golden blonde princess to blush and quickly slap her husband's hands. "just kidding~!"
After the bath, the two went into Soma's old bedroom where both laid down on the spread-out large futon.
Soma wears his plain old black shirt and sweatpants while Erina wears a white short pants and one of her husbands' old yet very large shirt that covers her down to her knees. The two laid down on the futon as they held each other close.
"will our baby be a girl or a boy?" Soma asked in curiosity as he looks down and gently caresses his wife's belly. "i really want to know now…"
"the doctor said that it'll be a few more months before we know, Soma." Erina replied as she smiles to her husband who had leaned down and slightly pulls up her shirt to expose her small bulging stomach that he kissed and caress softly. "we have to be patient."
"yeah, I know." said Soma as he caresses Erina's stomach before giving it a few pecks and kisses then leans his forehead against it. the man smiles while chuckling a bit. "the excitement to know our baby's gender is really getting to me these days….i wonder if that's something normal?"
"it is, for parents." Erina replied while caressing her husband's head and combing his hair. "even I want to know our child's gender."
Soma leans back up as he pulls Erina close before giving her forehead a peck and then her lips a deep passionate kiss that lasted for a minute.
"when we know our baby's gender, let's celebrate with everyone." Said Soma as Erina nods with a smile.
"knowing Alice, she would do it in a very big and highly annoying way." Erina stated while chuckling. "she might even throw the world's most biggest baby shower too."
"looks like we got to get used to it." Soma replied with a smile before he takes Erina's left hand and placed a kiss upon her golden wedding ring. "after all, why stop at one?"
Erina blushes as she knew very well that her husband doesn't just want one child.
Soma chuckles as he holds Erina closer before taking her lips for another kiss that is more deeper and more passionate.
the married couple held each other close while the door to the room slides close to give some privacy.
