A normal and cheerful day in Japan, things are just looking great because of the fact that today is the cherry blossom viewing day.
"pretty~!" a 5 year old Aki squealed out as she wore a little white dress and looks in awe to the Nakiri Family's private Cherry Blossom garden. "pretty trees everywhere~!" the little girl giggles as she runs around the place. "pretty~!"
"Aki~! Don't run too fast!" Erina called out to her daughter as she wears an adult version of her daughter's outfit. "you'll trip again!"
"okay~!" Aki hollered back but just continues to run.
"That little girl never listens." Erina said while sighing as Aki is the energetic little girl she is.
"well, that's one of her good points don't you think?" Soma said as he came to his wife while wearing a plain white shirt, and jeans. The man is carrying his one and a half year old son; Haruki in his arms. the baby boy looks amazed by the blossomed pink cherry blossom trees as he waves a hand to try and catch a falling petal. "just like how Haruki here is the patient and calm kid, Aki got to be the impulsive and energetic one."
"How is that anything of a good point?" Erina said accusingly to her husband who chuckles before catching one cherry blossom petal and then handed it to Haruki who giggles in delight to have one.
The family decided to spend the holiday together in the private property as it is a rare occasion that they could have time with their kids who will get a first hand experience on the cherry blossom viewing.
"yohoo~! Erina! Yukihira-kun! Aki-chan~! Haruki-chan~!" Alice came hollering in as she with her husband/aide; Ryo who carried his 4 year old son; Dan came into the scene. "we're here~!"
"Auntie Alice~!" Aki squeals in seeing her favorite fun Aunt as she runs to her.
"there's my favorite little girl~!" Alice squeals back as she runs before going down to her knees while opening her arms and catches Aki. the two giggles joyfully to one another. "oh~! You're getting cuter every day~!"
"thank you, Auntie Alice~!" Aki squeaks back before she laughs in glee when Alice nuzzles her nose to her stomach and then blows raspberry on it.
"Ojou, your grandfather along with your father and Mother have arrived…." Ryo spoke out as he points to the side where he sees Nakiri Senzaemon along with his son Nakiri Soe and Daughter in Law Nakiri Leonora coming to the scene. The white vixen's mother waving her hands all cheerfully. "it would seem that they managed to arrive as they had promised."
"ooh~! Thanks, honey!" Alice said as she waves a hand to her mother while carrying Aki in one arm, the little girl doing the same to her grandparents.
The Nakiri Family members gathered as it is time for the Cherry Blossom viewing that they would usually do when it is in season. They all sat on a big picnic blanket set under a large Sakura tree that just gives them a nice view and shade.
"Mana and the others are late…." Soe said as he holds a paper cup filled with orange juice, the family brought snacks and drinks to enjoy the cherry blossom viewing together. He adjusts his glasses and then takes a sip of his drink. "I had first thought they would arrive first."
"perhaps that they are held up by work." Leonora told her husband while carrying her grandson; Dan on her lap. The Denmark originated woman giggling while caressing her grandson's head. "or perhaps they are bickering as usual."
"those two never cease to amaze me." Senzaemon said as he sighs. "even after the BLUE, they bicker forever."
"geez~! And here we planned this all for a big family get together~!" Alice huffs a bit while munching on biscuits with Aki who is on her lap. "they're just making it less fun!" she then looks at her niece. "right, Aki-chan~!?"
"right~!" Aki just agrees while not knowing what was being bickered about.
"don't drag my daughter into this, Alice." Erina said with a stern gaze at her cousin while Soma chuckles in the background.
"ah, here they are." Ryo said as he sees Nakiri Azami along with his wife, Nakiri Mana and his son Nakiri Asahi coming into view.
"hey~! Over here~!" Alice cheerfully called out to the three as they got a hand wave in return by Azami.
The family spends the time just viewing the cherry blossoms as they had all the place to themselves.
"higher~! Higher~!" Aki squeals as she rides on Senzaemon's head, the old yet muscular man helping his great granddaughter in reaching for the Sakura tree's petals.
"up we go!" Senzaemon said with a smile as he tiptoed in getting Aki more closer to the trees.
"yay~!" Aki cheers as she begins to pick the petals as much as she could.
Senzaemon smiles to Aki before he looks down and smiles even more when his great grandson; Dan clings to his leg and watches in curiosity to what his cousin is doing.
While Senzaemon spends time with his great grandchildren, Soma and the others did their time just talking to one another.
"another season comes and goes sooner or later." Soma said as he holds his cup of rice sake which was made by his old dormmate Sakaki Ryoko. "Aki is going to be six next year and Haruki is going to be 2 years old in just two more months." He grins and pokes Haruki's chubby cheeks, the little boy on his mother's lap and getting fed with a meatbun. "you're going to be a very big boy soon!"
"stop that!" Erina slaps her husband's hand. "you know how bad it is to do so when our son is eating!"
"sorry~! Sorry~!" Soma laughs all carefreely as Erina begins to nag and scold him.
"and you guys say that we bicker." Azami sighs in seeing how his daughter and son in law are bickering.
"They do say that opposites attract." Mana giggles.
"Attract and repels." Asahi added in because of seeing how Erina is pulling on Soma's right ear while constantly nagging at him. "the latter part is very obvious as we can see."
"listen! No more poking on our son's cheeks!" Erina nags at Soma. "what if he was teething and you poked it too hard! It could make him be in pain! And then!"
"now now!" a loud voice laughs out as Joichiro appears in between the two and pulls them together in a hug. "it's the cherry blossom viewing time! Not the old bickering couple time!"
"old man!?" "Joichiro-sama!?" the two parents sees Totsuki's Ashura who grins to the two.
"we thought you couldn't arrive because of the traffic, senpai." Azami said with a surprised look.
"well, I was late." Joichiro said with a grin before he points a finger to the side as Dojima Gin came walking in while carrying a crate of sake. "but that was because I was busy from shopping stuff."
"why are you with him, Dojima-san?" Soe asks the head of Totsuki hotel.
"he dragged me into this while I was working!" Gin exclaimed angrily at his old friend. "I was working on the new season's report, and he just came out of nowhere before dragging me here!"
"just like the old says, is it?" Azami sweatdrops in seeing how it is Joichiro and Gin who are now just bickering, mostly coming from the former first seat than the Ashura.
"grandpa Joe~!" Aki squeals as she came running towards her grandfather from her father's side. She went and hugged his right leg. "you came~!"
"of course I did!" Joichiro replied with a grin as he picks up his granddaughter and playfully lifts her up and down. "I wouldn't want to miss the cherry blossom viewing with my cute little granddaughter, would i?!" he carries her and then raise a fist up. "let's get this party started~!"
"yay~!" Aki cheers.
"let's open the sake! Get me a bowl, Azami~!" Joichiro cheers as he drags his hold junior classmate.
"Joichiro-sama, please don't let Aki drink the sake..." Erina told her father in law as she wasn't sure if she is to be happy that her daughter has a fun grandpa or not because of how much influence he has on her.
About some hours later, the sun is now set, and the moon is up in the night sky.
Joichiro along with Gin, and Azami are on the grass as the three old friends are out cold because of drinking too much sake that made them drunk and get knocked out after 3 hours.
"seems that they are fast asleep." Senzaemon said as he and Soe are still drinking the remaining sake, both having strong resistance to the alcoholic drink.
"Joichiro-san should really pick a drink that he can handle." Soe said as he sips a cup of sake and sighs a bit. "this type of sake is way too strong for the likes of them."
"I believe we will be strolling for the night." Mana said as she and Leonora got up from their seats while carrying their respective grandsons who are fast asleep. "the best view of the cherry blossoms is with the moon after all."
"it is to enhance the Japanese feeling." Leonora said with a smile.
The two left as they just go to a nearby river stream which just glistens from the moon's glow.
"I shall take Ojou back to the car." Ryo said while carrying his wife who is smiling and giggling in her dreams, the white haired vixen had drunk the same bottle of sake that she is hugging. "she will nag at me for letting her sleep in a bad position."
"just make sure that she gets some rest and not sleepwalk when she got drunk last time." Erina told her cousin in law who is walking away.
Now who are left are just Soma, Erina, Senzaemon, Soe, and little Aki who is fast asleep and is just snuggling close to her father's embrace.
"looks like this little girl is out cold like the others." Soma grins as he sees how Aki just mumbles in her sleep.
"perhaps it is time for us to prepare things for the end of the night." Senzaemon said as he gets refilled of his sake by his son who did the same with his own cup of sake. "how about you two young ones take a stroll alike with Mana and Leonora?" he glance to the sky and smiles a bit. "The time of this night is the most beautiful I have seen in years."
"very true." Soe nods as he looks at the night sky.
"we'll take that advice." Erina said as she and Soma gets off and walks away for a stroll.
The two young parents go around seeing the scenery around them as they took momentary moments to appreciate the nature's beauty and its tranquility at its best.
"I wish that next year's cherry blossom viewing will be as best as this one…" Erina whispers as she leans close to her husband and intertwine their hands together while they walk. "it's so much fun after all."
"no kidding." Soma chuckles as he adjusted his hold on Aki who yawns in her sleep before leaning closer to her father's embrace. "Aki had so much fun that she tired herself out very easily."
"that's to be expected when she has such a funny grandfather and all." Erina giggles.
The two goes and went to a small wooden bridge that is by the small river. They go and just look at the moon's reflection in the serene clear water that has koi fish swimming around.
"I wonder if we should get some Koi fish at home." Soma said as he eyed the fish. "they might go well for a new dish I have in plan."
"they are pets! Not food!" Erina slaps his back. "and we have koi fish that are meant to be as pets!"
"it was just an idea." Soma grins and chuckles.
The two now goes into silence as they just admire the fishes in the river and the moon's reflection.
"hey, Erina." Soma spoke out as Erina made a noise while glancing at him. the Indra of Totsuki smiles to her. "thanks. For everything."
"eh?" Erina made a confused noise. "everything?"
"everything." Soma spoke with a smile. "for being my friend, my girlfriend, fiancé, my wife, I got to thank you for everything." He chuckles as he looks at Aki. "you gave me so much happiness in the form of many things." He looks back at his wife. "I'm really glad that I fell in love with you."
Erina blushes a bit as she looks away while being embarrassed because even though she is married to Soma for almost 6 years or so, she can't help but get her heart beating and fluttering whenever he goes into romantic mode.
"hey.." Soma calls out as Erina looks back and became surprised when he leans down to take her lips for a kiss.
Erina is a bit surprised for a moment before she reincorporated the kiss that ends after a minute.
"when Aki and Haruki are a bit older, they'll start school, right?" Soma asks as Erina nods, the man leans a hand down and takes his wife close before giving her a mischievous smile. "then that means we need to make more buns in your oven, right? Just to keep the family business go on?"
Erina went red as she slaps her husband who just knows how to make her embarrassed no matter what.
"noisy…" Aki moaned out in her sleep as she yawns and tries to sleep even more. "too noisy.."
"hear that, Erina?" Soma said with a grin to his wife who he pulls close once again. "we can't be too noisy for our little girl here." he smirks. "that means we can't be noisy when we go to our next honeymoon, right?"
Erina's face continues to go red as she can't help but feel a bit happy in more than one way.
Soma pecks Erina's forehead as he chuckles to his wife before both gaze at the moon that is just radiantly glowing in the night sky.
