Deep in the Jurassic jungle, the dinosaurs were running free. The park gates were shut down since the power was turned off, and there was likely no hope for anyone to come back. That was bad news for the six teens as they were currently running for their lives. Peter was running ahead with the still injured Yaz holding onto his back. Sammy and Brooklynn were right alongside them while Darius was running as fast as he could to keep up with Peter since he was capable of sensing the dinosaurs approaching.
"Keep running!" Yaz cried.
"What does it look like I am doing?! Yoda's training session?!" Peter asked her sarcastically.
"Is the Parasaurolophus still there?" Brooklynn asks.
Kenji was the furthest from the pack and looked to see that the Parasaurolophus was indeed still chasing after them. That was when the T. Rex came from the jungle and attacked the Parasaurolophus. Kenji shrieked as he was almost bitten and ran faster.
"Aah! Not anymore!" Kenji cried out.
"Over there! Cover!" Darius noticed a giant log.
Peter skidded using his hand and shoved against a tree, running over towards the tree. Everyone ran over and around, while Peter leaped over and slid down, keeping Yaz from sliding off of the tree and landed.
They heard the dinosaurs fighting and catching their breath. That was until everything went silent. Darius peeked his head out and he saw that the T. Rex was dragging the Parasaurolophus away.
"They're gone." Darius sighed.
Everyone sighed as they took a moment to relax. "Why are there so many dinosaurs around?" Kenji asks.
"It's either your boyish charm or all the fences on the island are down," Brooklynn stated.
"No offense, but it's definitely option two," Sammy stated.
"I don't even care." Yaz groaned as she let go of Peter to relax her arms. "Right now, I just want a sandwich. We haven't eaten since we had those awful carob bars that Ben..." She stopped herself and looked around. "I-I..."
"It's fine, Yaz," Peter told her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "We get what you are saying." Then there was another roar in the distance, getting Peter to flinch since his senses were enhanced. "We just need to eat and rest. I can't keep running like this. No offense to Yaz, but the running and carrying her around does a number on you."
Darius looked out and noticed the Main Street structure out in the distance. "We don't have to. There's bound to be a way to call for help on Main Street, and food and everything else."
"Then how come we didn't think fo that sooner?" Peter asked, with a hint of sarcasm.
"Come on!" Darius said, leading the way toward Main Street.
Peter rolled his eyes and stood back up, looking at Yaz. "Mind if I just carried you? My neck could use a break from your terror clenching."
Yaz shickered at that as she stood up. "Fine. If you drop me, I will kick you."
Peter rolled his eyes and picked Yaz up bridal style. Yaz instantly wrapped her arms around his shoulders for support. "Alright, let's go."
As they stepped onto Main Street, a scene of utter devastation unfolded before their eyes. Buildings that had once stood proudly now lay in ruins, their facades crumbled and their windows shattered, casting jagged shards of glass across the ground like glistening daggers. The air was thick with dust and the acrid scent of smoke, a disturbing reminder of the chaos that had transpired. Scattered amidst the debris was a significant dent in the massive gate of the Mosasaurus pen, a gaping wound in what was once a formidable barrier. Without its electrified defense, the ocean predator had seized the opportunity, breaking free and leaving behind a trail of destruction in its attack.
"What happened here?" Brooklynn wondered as they looked around.
"Uh, I'm thinking dinosaurs." Kenji pointed out the obvious.
"It's more than that," Darius said as he looked around. "Some kind of fight took place. From the height, it looks like maybe the T. Rex and... something bigger."
Peter walked over to the edge of the pen gap and was shocked at what he and Yaz saw. "The Indomius Rex." He saw within the deep the body of the Indominous Rex was killed by the water predator. "I don't think we have to worry about my sister anymore, or what's left of her. And wow it still feels weird to call that thing my sister."
"That only hit you now?" Brooklynn asked as she walked over. "It's been weird this whole time."
"In my defense, I was trying to lighten the mood with humor," Peter told her. "On the bright side, we can count on the Mosasaurus not being hungry for a while."
Both girls gave him a look of disapproval over the joke.
"What?" Peter asks. "Too soon? Come on, she tried to kill us."
"Guys!" Sammy cried as she ran up to them. "You have to see this!"
Seems what she wanted them to see was there was a bunch of cutouts of Brooklynn all throughout the stores. They all stared for a good minute before bursting into laughter.
"Wow, I totally forgot I agreed to that," Brooklynn admitted as she laughed.
"Do you only own one outfit?" Peter asked as Sammy walked up to it.
"What? It's my signature look!" Brooklynn shrugged.
Kenji ran up and grabbed the charger that the cutout was holding, running and kneeling to Brooklynn. "Please, autograph my phone charger, O Queen of the Brooklanders!" He then burst out into more laughter.
"Well, I think it's cool," Sammy said. "When we get rescued, I'm taking it with us."
"TBH, this does kind of remind me of home," Brooklynn admitted. "I haven't posted in days. I bet my followers are worried sick about me."
"And your dad?" Peter asked her.
"Oh, uh, right," Brooklynn said. "Obvi. Them, too."
"Them?" Peter asked.
"Forgot to mention my dad remarried," Brooklynn informed him.
"Oh," Peter nodded. "Okay, let's start looking for a way to communicate with the mainland."
"He's right," Darius said. "There's gotta be a phone or something, right?"
Yaz then fell out of Peter's hands. "I can get around here on my own. Better if we split up to cover as much ground as we can."
"Okay, if you get tired, let me know," Peter said, walking off and noticing a blue hoodie in the shop. "Hm..." He then picked it out and saw it was a bit big for him, but he had an idea in mind for it. "This could work..."
"Ooh, lost and found!" Darius said from behind the cabinet. "Sunglasses, hat, sunglasses, sunglasses. Sunglasses. Really? No one lost their cell phone?"
Yaz walked over to the phone on the counter and picked it up. "Whatever phones are here aren't working. The power's out."
"Yeah, if we did find a phone, it would need to be a satellite phone," Peter informed them. "The signal likely went with the power. There's not even walkie-talkies in this place."
"Oh, yeah?" Kenji asked, showing some kid walkie-talkies that were shaped like a dinosaur. "Then what do you call these bad boys?"
They then let out a small robotic roar. "Definitely not "bad boys"," Yaz stated.
"Hey, at least they work." Darius defended, walking off. "They even have a robot mode."
Sammy gasped. "Oh!"
"You found something?" Darius asks.
"An Insider's Guide to Jurassic World!" Sammy said, looking over the book. "It's got all kinds of details about the park. Did you know there's hidden dinos carved into the buildings? Or that aircraft aren't allowed to fly over the island?" That got everyone to give her a bit of a look, getting her to realize what she said. "Sorry, that last one's a bummer."
"Hey!" Brooklynn called.
"Is it a phone?" Peter asks.
"It's a camera! And it works!" Brooklynn cheered as she activated it. "Now I can document all the crazy stuff we've seen! Our rescue will be a Brooklynn Exclusive! That'll get my follower count back up to where it belongs."
Peter gave her a bit of a dumbfounded look. "And that will help us how exactly?"
"Uh, because when we get home, this will also make you famous?" Brooklynn stated.
"I feel like the radiation running through me will get me famous enough," Peter stated.
Kenji then called out. "Hey!"
"Tell me you found a phone," Peter begged.
"Uh, no, but I could be in the video," Kenji said, leaning into the camera.
Sammy then gasped.
"Phone?" Darius asks.
"Nope. It's better than that." Sammy said. "It's an EDB- emergency distress beacon! After the first park went down, Mr. Masrani installed one on Main Street. It's battery-powered and can send an SOS signal 150 miles in all directions! We're saved!"
"Does it say where it is?" Yaz asks.
Sammy turned the page. "Uh no. The rest of the chapter is just glamour shots of Dr. Wu wearing turtlenecks."
"I wanna strangle that guy with one of those turtlenecks," Peter said with a groan.
"Everybody spread out," Darius tells them.
"There's a way to communicate with the outside world on Main Street." Darius recapped. "We find this thing, and we go home."
Kenji spoke into the radio with the robotic setting. "Affirmative, human." He then began to walk away. "Beep. Boop-boop. Beep."
Brooklynn set the camera up in the middle of Main Street while Peter was seen crawling around the higher areas of the park. He was looking around, trying to see if the EDB was placed somewhere high up in case of dinosaurs.
"What's up, Brooklanders?" Brooklynn called into the camera. "You wanted exclusive footage? Well, here it is! And there's nobody better than me to show it to you. Ka-pow!" She then imitates gunshots.
"I stand by the fact that "Brooklanders" is a weird name," Peter commented as he found some sort of one-piece red suit. "Huh..." He wondered why someone would bring that along. "Sounds like something you would call someone who lives in Brooklyn."
Brooklynn scoffed and looked over at him. "Okay, I was ten when I came up with it, and- Just, shh, now I gotta start over!"
"And also, you better blur my face if you plan to show this to people," Peter warned her. "The last thing I need is people knowing who I am."
"Going all out with this whole "Spider-Man" thing, huh?" Kenji asked.
"Eh, I rather wear a mask than have a group of people wanting to hunt me and study me," Peter stated. "Especially the people that my dad created that spider for, to begin with."
"Beacon, beacon." Darius sighed as he looked around. "If I was a beacon, where would I be?"
Yasmina looked into a window. "I don't see any beacons in here."
Sammy jumped into the camera. "Can't believe I'm gonna be in your video! Ooh, should I have my own catchphrase?"
"Just talk about the stuff," Brooklynn tells her.
"Okay, according to the book, things in the park are disguised to keep up the whole natural illusion of Jurassic World." Sammy gasped as she showed a rock was a trash can designed. "This rock is really a trash can." She pointed to vines on the wall. "Those vines are electrical cords. Pretty neat, right, Brooklanders? Ever notice "Brooklanders" is weird?"
Brooklynn groaned. "Ugh!"
"Find anything?" Darius asks.
"Not yet," Peter said as he dropped from a lamp post. "What about the others?"
Kenji came past riding a scooter. "Found scooter!"
Brooklynn then activated the camera again solo. "Hey, Brooklanders! Check this out!" She then scoffed and looked to Peter who found some sort of cloth to cover someone's face. "Now it sounds weird to me, too."
"Told ya!" Peter said, his voice muffled from the cloth.
Brooklynn then deactivated the camera.
Sammy reactivated it as she was on the scooter. "That rock is an electrical outlet and that rock is a straw dispenser-" She then ended up crashing. "Uh! I tripped on a rock."
"Maybe the beacon got trashed along with everything else?" Yaz guessed as she leaned on the wall.
"It's here somewhere. It has to be." Darius said, walking off to look.
"And this rock is... just a rock, but I think it's neat." Sammy continued. "What do you think, camp fam?"
Peter was dangling upside down on the ceiling of a building when he heard that. ""Camp fam"?"
"That's right, it's a new catchphrase." Sammy declared. "Ka-pow!" She then imitates gunshots.
"That's not a catchphrase, that's a group chat name," Peter commented.
"How are you not getting dizzy?" Yaz asked, leaning on the pillar near where Peter was dangling.
"How should I know?" Peter shrugged. "These powers didn't come with an instruction manual. I wished they did.
Darius sighed as he was starting to lose hope. "Ugh, come on!"
Kenji approached carrying a toy stegosaurus in a creepy voice. "Mm, roar! I'm gonna eat you!"
Darius looked back and wasn't exactly amused. "That's a stegosaurus, Kenji."
"You look like a plant." Kenji continued as he tapped the dinosaur to Darius' head.
Peter was looking up from the top of the buildings as everyone continued to work. He wondered what else was out there like the Indominous. She was a hybrid of human/dinosaur, is it possible she was one of the final experiments in the list of things that his father had worked on? Are they all like the Indominous?
"Anybody order frozen pizza from the world's dopest delivery boy?" Kenji asked, getting Peter to look down and see he brought bags of food.
"Food?" Peter asked, leaping down and landing beside them.
"Finally!"
"Yes!"
"I'll get napkins from the rock," Sammy said, running off to do so.
Everyone sat down and tried to take a bite out of the frozen food, but it didn't exactly end well. So, they all ended up leaving the food out in the sun, hoping that the food would thaw so they could eat.
"Okay, is the pizza thawed now?" Sammy asks.
Kenji sighs. "I'll check."
Kenji walked over towards the boxes of pizza when Peter's senses went off as Compies appeared all around them, screeching at the campers and even leaping from above. They all reacted and jumped backward, watching as the Compies began to attack them.
"Throw the pizza! Throw the pizza!" Yaz cried.
"Aw, man! All of it?" Sammy asked but didn't question as they did just that.
All of the Compies chased after the pizza, leaving them be.
"I'm really starting to dislike them Compies," Sammy stated.
"Rats of the dinosaur world," Peter groaned. "Those guys would eat anything,"
"Yeah, but so would Kenji," Yaz jokes as she rubs her ankle.
"I object to that," Kenji stated as he walked over with a slice of pizza.
Brooklynn pushed the pizza slice, causing them to laugh and begin playfully shoving one another. Peter sighed as he walked over and laid back, relaxing for the first time since the docks. Peter sighed and leaned his head back against the wrecked poll, accidentally dozing off.
"And if you look closely, you can see Cancer. That's "crab" in Latin, is the fourth sign of the zodiac." Mary Parker said as she and Peter looked up at the night sky. "It's one of the dimmest constellations, right between Leo and Gemini. You see him?"
"Uh..." Peter tried to see what his mother was seeing. "I...think so? All I keep seeing is a bunch of dots. I don't know how you see a crab."
Mary chuckled and looked over at her son. "It's hard, and it takes a lot of work, I know. But when you finally get through, and connect the dots... you get the full picture." She then showed the constellation in her sketches of the Cancer "crab". "Sometimes things are more than they appear. That goes for stars, people, and just about anything." She then pointed up to a brighter star. "See that one? That's the Northern Star. If you follow it long enough, you will eventually find your way home."
"I don't think that's how it works," Peter replied.
Mary chuckled again as she caressed Peter's hair. "So much like your father."
Peter felt a warm smile spread across his face as he glanced at his mother, the nightlight glinting off her hair. Suddenly, a rustling noise caught his attention, pulling his gaze beyond her into the thicket of trees. His heart sank as he saw the massive figure of the Indominus Rex, its powerful body emerging from the darkness with a menacing snarl reverberating through the air. Time seemed to freeze as Peter stood, rooted to the spot, eyes wide in terror at the beast marching toward him.
"Peter?" A voice called out.
Peter turned to Mary, hoping for a reaction, but she remained eerily still, her expression blank as if she were blind to the looming danger. The contrast between his escalating dread and her tranquil demeanor heightened the unease that coursed through him. Peter's breath caught in his throat, helpless against the impending doom that loomed closer with every heartbeat. Just then, the Indominus Rex opened its jaws, revealing rows of jagged teeth glistening in the fading light as it lunged forward, a primal force of nature intent on its prey.
"Peter?!"
"Peter!"
Peter jolted awake, the remnants of a haunting dream clinging to him like a shadow. His eyes darted around, scanning the familiar yet perilous landscape of Main Street, the vibrant colors of the island's flora contrasting sharply with the lingering dread in his chest. The echoes of distant roars faded into silence, and he felt a wave of relief wash over him as he realized the fearsome Indominus was nowhere in sight.
As his breathing steadied, he turned to his side and saw Brooklynn kneeling beside him, her brows furrowed with concern. The soft moonlight illuminated her worried expression, and Peter's heart raced, not from fear this time, but from the shock of waking up to find his friends nearby, safe and sound. The remnants of the nightmare began to dissipate, replaced by the warm comfort of reality, and he felt a profound gratitude that he was still on the island, grounded in the moment.
"Brooklynn?" Peter sounded shocked to see her.
"Yeah, it's me, are you okay?" Brooklynn asks.
"I'm... I'm fine," Peter promises. "It was just a bad dream."
"Must have been some nightmare," Brooklynn said.
"Where is...?" Peter looked over and noticed that everyone else was asleep. "Did I miss something?"
"Everyone thought it would be best to let you sleep," Brooklynn explained. "We decided to take watch, switching between who watches and the others get to sleep."
"Huh," Peter said as he got up. "Well, I can take over for you."
"You sure?" Brooklynn wonders.
"Yeah, I'll be fine," Peter promises. "I won't be sleeping again anytime soon." He walked over looked up to the night sky and sighed. "Not after that..."
Brooklynn walked over and sat beside him. "Maybe I'll stay awake with you? For a little while?"
Peter shrugged. "Sure."
Brooklynn looked up to the stars. "So... got any interesting stories about the stars, star-boy?"
"Uh, yeah, there is Pinky, the talker." Peter joked as he looked up. "She would find cleaver ways of tricking people to do things out of their own ego."
Brooklynn scoffed as she punched his shoulder. "That's how we are going to do this? I was trying to be nice."
Peter laughed as quietly as he could, trying not to awaken the others. "Sorry. I'm sorry. I just had to joke. I had to make a joke." He then calmed down with a sigh. "Thanks, superstar."
"Anytime, Spider-Man," Brooklynn said with a smile. She then eyed the clothes that Peter had on him. "What's with those clothes you've been picking?"
Peter looked down at his clothes and lifted them up. "This?" He then placed them down. "I'll show you guys when I have it all together and I am ready to show it off. Let's just say... I've been inspired by you guys. You, Yaz, Darius, Kenji...Ben. To tell you the truth, I am complaining about our predicament, but... if I had to be stranded on an Island full of killer dinosaurs, I am glad you guys are here. You guys..."
When she didn't respond for a second, he was curious as to why and looked over and was shocked to see how fast she fell asleep on his shoulder. Peter chuckled as he just leaned back against the wrecked fountain and looked up at the stars. He just began to stare off into the sky.
He didn't know how long had passed until Yaz came limping over and gave him a tap, causing Peter to look up and see her. Yaz seemed a little confused about how this scene unfolded but left it be.
"Sorry, just wanted to say, I think it's my shift," Yaz said.
"You sure?" Peter asks.
"Yeah, Darius had the first watch, Brooklynn took second, looks like you took over, so..." Yaz shrugged.
"Oh, okay," Peter nodded, feeling tired. "You sure you don't need me?"
"I promise, I can survive a few hours without you watching me," Yaz was amazed to see how much he cared. "Get some rest."
"Okay..." Peter said as he leaned back, Brooklynn falling over and landing on his leg to use as a pillow. "I can use some rest..."
Yaz watched him drift off to make sure he actually did go to sleep. She then began to limp back when she looked back at the scene. She wasn't sure what she was feeling when she saw how close he and Brooklynn were getting, but she couldn't focus on that when she saw Darius was having a nightmare himself.
It looks like there was a significant breakthrough last night concerning Darius and Yaz's into the location of the beacon. Early the nextmorning, just as the first light of dawn began to illuminate the sky, Darius roused everyone from their sleep. He gathered the group and led them back to Main Street, where the atmosphere was charged with anticipation and determination. The team felt a renewed sense of purpose as they prepared to delve deeper into the clues they had uncovered.
"Look, we already looked here," Kenji stated.
"We looked, but we didn't look," Darius said.
"Well, that clears that up," Brooklynn replied.
"It's like Sammy was saying, things are disguised as other things," Darius explained. "We never saw the beacon because it was camouflaged."
Peter smacked himself in the face. "Why didn't I think of that?!"
They then spent their time actually looking around Main Street for the beacon. They looked inside and out rather than looking for some sort of obvious container or something and went through everything, all the rocks, nocks, and crannies they could find. As they were looking, Yaz was limping and fell over, hitting a tree, which was revealed to be made of metal.
"Ever hear a tree do that?" Yaz asks.
Sammy walked over first and pulled a small handle, opening up wires that went up the tree. "There's stuff inside!"
"Find it again for the camera?" Brooklynn asks, walking over with the camera.
"Ooh! There's stuff inside!" Sammy said, doing it again.
They then searched all of the trees, only to see nothing inside any of them.
"All aboard the fail-boat," Kenji said with a sigh. "The rest of these are all empty, broseph."
"Hey, guys?" Peter called, gesturing to a missing tree. "This one's missing."
The trail leads off towards the enclosures, and it is a specific one. The Tyranasorus enclosure. That was when Peter's senses alerted him of something, getting him to gesture for everyone to hide. Everyone just scattered just as they heard scrapping and saw it came from the T. Rex returning with a tree in her mouth. She walked off back towards her lair and the others followed. They watched the Rex bring the tree into a giant bundle of bushes and trees that it brought inside.
"A T. rex lair!" Darius whispered. "They've found fossilized nests, but the T. rex never did this when the park was open. We're witnessing new behavior. This is great!" He then saw the eyes of everyone. "This is terrible. She built her lair right on top of Main Street."
"And it's about to get worse. Look." Brooklynn said, zooming in using the camera and they see the beacon is in the mess.
"Well, we found the beacon," Yaz said with a sigh.
"How are you supposed to get to the beacon now?" Kenji asked as they backed out of sight of the T. Rex.
"Um, don't you mean "we"?" Darius asks.
"No, because I want to live, and living does not involve me walking into a T. rex lair!" Kenji stated.
"Well, walking into that lair is the only way we can get off this island," Peter reminded him.
"So wait, does this mean we can't signal folks and tell them we're still here?" Sammy asks in concern.
"Great." Kenji groaned as he scooted away. "Try to spend a little time being normal kids, and it still ends up biting us in the butts. I..." he sighs. "I just wanted 24 hours where we didn't have to think about dinosaurs, or being left behind, or, or...or Ben."
"It was nice while it lasted," Sammy said.
"Hey, we can't give up now," Peter told them. "I mean, all we need to do is activate the beacon, right?" He then peered his head out and looked at the device. "What if I sneaked in?"
"What?" Yaz asks. "You want to just stroll up to a T. Rex lair?"
"I don't want to," Peter stated. "But I'd rather send myself than send someone else. If anyone else has a better idea, then be my guest."
Darius then seemed to get an idea. "Kenji, were there any more walkies in the gift shop?"
A while later, the T. Rex began to leave her lair and head out into the Main Street. Yaz and Brooklynn were left up on the rooftop watching.
"Heading your way, Sammy," Yaz reported.
The boys were waiting near the opening as the Rex made her way out into the jungle.
"Listen up. She just passed by. The coast is clear. Go for it!"
That was their opening as Peter leaped down and was followed by Darius and Kenji, who insisted on coming along. Peter didn't mind it as he saw he could use their help.
"I hate this." Kenji groaned.
Peter waited for his senses to detect any other dangers in the lair. Seeing the coast was clear, they headed into the lair.
"Ugh, I hate this," Kenji repeated.
Peter leaped up, crawling his way up the pile. Darius climbed up behind him. He almost slipped, but Peter quickly caught him. Kenji started to climb but freaked when he saw a bone sticking out of the pile.
"Next time, I'm spraining my ankle and I'm staying behind," Kenji said into the radio, speaking directly to Yaz.
Yaz smirked when she heard that. "You wouldn't be able to handle it."
Darius was pulled up to the top where he spotted the device. "There!"
Peter nodded as he walked over, removing the debris and seeing the device. He decided to give it a tug, but it was stuck inside the tree.
"The T. rex must have damaged the housing," Peter said as he saw Kenji reach the top. "I don't wanna risk damaging it, let's just activate it and get out of here."
Back with Sammy, she watched the T. Rex from the safety of a tree, trying to keep her in her line of sight. As she moved, the T. Rex made her way underneath the tree, searching for branches for her nest. Sammy planted herself against the tree, trying her best to stay hidden.
The T. Rex bit a branch and began to make her way back. Sammy panicked and saw their time was up.
"Rexy's headed back to her lair!" Sammy warns them, "She's heading back. Y'all need to get out of there."
Back with the boys, they had Peter pull open the canister to get to the controls. Peter began to try and figure out how to activate it, but the radio was not going off.
"Darius? Kenji? Peter?"
Brooklynn looked up and saw the Rex was down the street, and they weren't answering. "Why aren't they answering?"
"Guys!" Yaz called into the radio. "She's coming back right now! Mayday! Guys!" They looked over and saw they didn't hear the cries. "Oh, I knew it! Kenji ran down the battery." She cried as she knocked on her head with the radio. "What now?"
"We've gotta stall that T. rex," Brooklyn said.
Sammy called over the radio, "How do you stall a T. rex?"
Brooklyn considered that herself when she looked down at the camera in her hands. She then got up and ran off towards Main Street.
"What are you doing?" Yaz wonders.
"Okay, I think that does it..." Peter said, activating the beacon. He then sighed and wiped his hands. "Look at that. Things are finally-" That was when his senses alerted him of something, causing him to freeze just as the ground began to shake. "Jinxed it."
They looked to the entrance and saw the T. Rex entering the lair. They quickly ran for cover, trying to find a place to hide and not be caught by the ferocious monster.
"What's up, Brooklanders?"
The commotion caught the attention of both the onlookers and the T. Rex. They observed as the dinosaur burst out of her den, fiercely protective of her domain. Upon reaching the outside, she noticed the Brooklynn cutout, complete with a camera in action. With swift determination, she charged towards it and crushed the cardboard figure underfoot.
"You wanted exclusive footage? Well, here it is! And there's nobody better than me to show it to you."
The T. Rex then looked down, seeing that the cardboard cutout wasn't alive. She sniffed the cutout whole, and the others ran for the exit.
"We activated the beacon." Darius cheered. "The SOS signal went out."
They heard the T. rex snarling in the distance.
"Celebrate later, time to go!" Peter warned them, running away as fast as they could.
Everyone ran off as fast as they could to try and escape Main Street.
"We're gonna be saved!" Sammy cheered.
"We did it!"
"Yeah!"
"Yeehaw!"
"That's what I'm talking about!"
"Sorry you had to give up your camera." Peter told Brooklynn. Then he eyed Kenji. "Next time, I take over tech, and put fresh batteries in before the missions."
"Eh, it was old and janky anyhow." Brooklynn shrugged. "My followers deserve way better picture quality than that."
Peter sighed as he leaned down. "Where to now, Darius?"
"We obviously can't go back to Main Street," Darius said. "Now we have to find a place to hole up until help arrives. And rescue will be coming. We just gotta stay alive until they do."
The signal was indeed sent out, and it was received... but by who?
