Chapter 14

Robo Reader 21- Job John was a military cadet? I thought he was a normal civilian that get drafted into service like everyone else besides Ryu and Bright. Can you check that? I'm not saying your wrong or anything, it's just it seems weird that he's not a regular Mobile Suit pilot while Hayato and Kai are. And it gets weirder that he's not the core booster or G-bull pilot when they show up. I could be wrong, I'll admit that. I mean, to be fair to all, mainly me, he was so rarely used in the anime and movie that I just completely forgot him.

Warmachine375- Your knowledge isn't that great, to begin with anyway as it's pretty bad beyond the basic wiki information. I should know. You always miss crucial information in my fics and do not even acknowledge the questions I ask of you in PMs. Heck, even canon info is neglected by you on occasion. Not intentionally, I believe, of course. No one is perfect and we make mistakes.

Also, why worry at all about Chief's personality? It's clear as day that he's staying as the stoic guy we all know and love. If it takes you this long to see that, you must be really worried. Or not know how I operate my fics at all, which is entirely possible, you only post reviews on two of them and not the rest. If it's about the romance with Lilith, you're even more mistrustful of my capabilities than I thought. Understandable though, even if its clear Chief is staying in character for more than ten chapters so far. Or at least as much I can.

I know the reason behind the nickname, mate, I'm saying you're acting like an immature child by using it. Or did you forget what I specifically wrote in response to the nickname usage? Because I never asked why the nickname came to be yet you stated the reasons why it came to be in the first place. Even though I never ask for them in the first place.

Then why didn't you post the episode number for that episode in the first place, mate?

You don't remember that bomb episode, do you? They didn't have any cameras or recording equipment with them. Why would they even bring that stuff when they were going to destroy the Gundam in the first place? Also, the training really didn't show. Like at all.

You're really bad at these long reviews. Quite a few errors in them. Maybe dial aback a bit or just read and analyze the chapters I post better? No offense. Apologies in advance if you do take offense.

Update due to Robo Reader criticisms.

Jega

Asia

Jega gave a grunt as he finished off another human. The pathetic human begged him to spare him, even offering the clothes on his back for doing so. Glaring at the human for his weakness, Jega finished him slowly for his stupidity. Once he was done, he looked around and saw his fellow Banished going out of the village with various crates and weapons that they acquired from the village. Most of them were official Banished crates and weapons, others were crates of food and water from the village that they just destroyed. They'll have to later pick out what foods they can eat and what they can't due to differences in biology from humans that made certain humans foods toxic to Jiralhanae and Sangheili, but that was a better alternative than simply eating traveling rations the Banished gave to its soldiers when they weren't able to provide fresh food for their warriors.

Joining his fellow Banished, Jega watched as they all gathered outside the village, which enabled Jega to see who was with him and what species they were.

Jega was a bit surprised to see just how large the Banished forces were. Over a hundred individuals were assembled before him. While over eighty percent of the assembled force were a mix of Jiralhanae and Sangheili, they had a fair number of Kig-Yar with them as well from the various subspecies of the race. They even had was that they had two pairs of Mgalekgolo in their possession as well. And judging by their bloodied assault cannons and shields, they were more volatile than typical Mgalekgolo, which is actually the norm for Banished Mgalekgolo. But what was even more surprising was that, in their possession, were the two Huragok in their possession. Powerful tools were a huge boon to any that possess any Huragok. Especially if they have control yokes to make them complacent.

Jega was surprised at the sheer number of Banished with him as this was far more than the force that he had when he last fought the Master Chief, right before an explosion occurred that knocked him unconscious. Recalling back to the moments before the explosion, Jega remembered that he saw additional drop pods landing that dropped reinforcements. While that would explain the additional Sangheili and Jiralhanae, that didn't explain the Mgalekgolo as there wasn't a drop pod that could contain such large warriors. Same with the Huragok.

Were they already at the base when the Master Chief attacked? If so, why wasn't he informed and why didn't they help in the fight against the Master Chief?

Growling at this, Jega nonetheless spoke to his fellow Banished.

"Where are we?" Asked Jega, asking a question that everyone was thinking about. This place was certainly not Halo. The environment was far too realistic and the ground beneath their feet was far too real for it to be synthetic. And the air. The air was much too dirty for it to be from Halo. Then there was the village full of humans. A village of straw and wood. Jega knew the humans were primitive compared to the Covenant, even as they use Covenant technology as well as Forerunner technology to advance their own, but this was something else. Something very wrong.

"We do not know, Blademaster." Said a Sangheili Ultra as he addressed Jega with respect. "We were fighting the Spartan when an explosion engulfed the entire base. That explosion must have knocked us all unconscious as the next thing that we know, we're being dissected by these humans."

"Dissected?" Asked Jega as he looked at the Ultra, who nodded.

"Yes." Said the Ultra. "These humans were poking at us with sticks or ripping out Mgalekgolo worms from our hunters." The Mgalekgolo growled at the memory of that, wanting nothing more than all the humans apart for what they did. "Some of us were even cut up by the humans for sport. Grukan suffered such a fate along with several Unggoy."

"Interesting." Said Jega, wondering what this meant. Clenching his mandibles together, addressed the whole Banished force. "Are there any humans left alive from our slaughter? I wish to interrogate them." While many of the Jiralhanae chaffed at being ordered around by a Sangheili, they nonetheless obeyed his orders as they knew Jega's reputation amongst the Banished as not only one of their strongest Blademasters, but also a member of the Hand of Atriox, the Banished's premier Spartan killers.

"We have a few." Said a Jiralhanae warrior as he grabbed something amongst his kind, pulling it out to reveal it to be an elderly human from a group of humans behind him and a few other Jiralhanae. They had spared a few because they thought they would provide meat for them. "We thought they would provide a good snack in case we got hungry. Humans can be tasty if done right." While the humans reacted in terror at the massive Jiralhanae abusing their elder, Jega just ordered the Jiralhanae to give him the elder. Amused, the Jiralhanae warrior tossed the human to Jega, uncaring if the human got hurt. Landing roughly on the ground in front of Jega, the human looked up at the alien in terror as his size eclipsed even the tallest of humans. And that's not even mentioning his reptilian appearance, his sleek black armor, and Jega's cybernetics. Scoffing in amusement at the human's fear, Jega grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and forced the human to look into his eyes, filled with malice and sadistic joy.

"I'll ask you this once human. Where are we?" Asked Jega, his combat harnesses translator on as he doubted this human knew his language. Though many Banished officials and warriors often choose to neglect such devices with some even opting to have them removed from their armors, Jega kept his as there had been several times in his career in both the Banished and the Covenant that required him to understand the various languages the humans had along with members of the Covenant. His position demanded it. However, the translator could only work on languages known to those who calibrated it. Fortunately, the language the human used was within the translator's parameters as Jega could understand him perfectly.

"Asia. Central Asia to be exact." Said the man as he looked at Jega's eyes, fully afraid of the alien monster that had helped destroy his village. Jega growled at that.

"I meant what planet this is, human." Said Jega as he grabbed the hilt of his energy sword and activated it. He then placed it near the human's right cheek, causing him to wince in pain as the plasma sword got close enough to burn his skin. "What planet is this?"

"It's Earth!" Yelled the human as he tried to get away from the energy sword. Upon hearing that, there had been a few surprising grunts from the Banished soldiers. Even Jega took a moment to blink in surprise before recomposing himself. Thinking a bit as he looked around his surroundings, Jega asked another question.

"What year is it? Is it the year 2560 as you humans call it?" Asked Jega as he squeezed a bit tighter on the human's throat to ensure it doesn't talk back to him. Choking on the strength of Jega's grip, the human simply shook his head and choked out a few words.

"Its…the Universal century…0079." Said the man before going unconscious because of Jega's grip, causing cries to emit from the remaining humans. One, a young human female, tried to run to the aid of the old man, but a Mgalekgolo got in her way and stopped her with its sheer size. Starring down the human, the Mgalekgolo stayed its hand. Not because of any mercy or anything. No, because the human may provide some use to the Banished. Whether that may be.

Growling at the unconscious man in his hand, Jega unceremoniously let go of the man, now done with him. He then looked at the rest of the Banished forces and began handing out orders.

"I care little if any of your technically outrank me." Said Jega as he glared at everyone. "As of this moment, until we find out what exactly is going on and get our bearings, I remain in charge. After that, we will debate who truly is in charge." Glaring at all the assembled Banished mercenaries and warriors to see if any dare challenge this. Seeing that none were daring to protest his declaration, Jega continued to speak. "We still have valuable equipment that is missing. Until we find them, these humans remain alive. At least for now." A few Jiralhanae growled at that but otherwise remained silent. With that done, Jega went over to the remaining humans, a few women, and young children. It seems most of the actually capable humans died defending the village. Giving a snort at the feeble humans, he spoke to the one that looked the oldest, the one that was scared into submission by the Mgalekgolo. Grabbing her by the hair, he forced her up to his eye level.

"How did you come across us?" Asked Jega as he glared at the human, enjoying the fear she emanated. When Jega raised his energy sword, the human woman saw he was getting impatient and thus answered his question.

"In the nearby forest." Said the woman as she eyed his energy blade, too fearful of what it can do to her to think about how such a thing was possible. "We found you there along with metal buildings."

"Metal buildings?" Asked Jega, satisfied with the answer. "Were these buildings cubed and gray?" When the woman nodded, Jega let out a smile. "Show us." He then threw her to the ground, caring little if she got hurt. The woman, after a few seconds on the ground, got up and looked at Jega in anger, but mostly fear, before leading the Banished to these gray buildings that she spoke of. As she led them out of the village, the Banished grabbed the other humans and forced them to march with them as well as forcing them to grab their own elder as none of the Banished wished to actually carry a human. As they all marched, Jega gave a silent order to a few of his fellow Sangheili. Upon receiving the orders, the Sangheili nodded and began relaying the orders to other Banished troops, utilizing their own language to prevent the humans from understanding them. Which was appreciated as they had no intentions of keeping any of them alive once they led them to their destination.
