Chapter 21
Robo Reader 21- Yeah, maybe I was a little overzealous with the numbers.
Yup, they did. Updated the story a bit to make that a bit clearer.
Well the idea there was that they use the shock created by the explosions and the sheer number of explosions to kill the surviving humans before they can either have a chance to retaliate or call for help until it was too late.
Yeah, maybe I should have added a sentence or two that stated why Jega ordered the humans all killed. For clarity sake. And yeah the command tent is still standing. So, problem solved.
WarMachine375-
M'Quve isn't dead. Not that I can actually do that as M'Quve is, right now, in Europe while Jega and the Banished are in Central Asia or in other places of the world.
As for that team up…uh. I don't know.
Dragon lord Syed 101- First half I think will be fine, the rest…ah yeah. Plot is going to be altered a lot.
Jega
After riding himself of another human that he killed, Jega tossed the corpse away before walking towards several Sangheili that were piling the small arms weapons that they acquired from the human base in the trucks that they pilfered from the human vehicle depot. Along with those weapons, they were taking what else supplies that have survived their sudden explosive strike. Clothes, water, medicine, although that was very limited considering they destroyed what the humans had for a medical bay, and other assortment of materials they can get from the ruined base. Moving past his men as they loaded the supplies up, Jega looked to see two Sangheili looking at the tanks the humans had, finding them strange.
"What is this abomination, brother?" Asked one Sangheili as he looked at the human vehicle. It looked like a tank, yet it looked more like an airship attached to a wheeled chassis. It looked nothing like the UNSC scorpion tank that they both knew and encountered before.
"I do not know brother, but the main gun looks powerful. Perhaps it meant to be a gun carriage like our Wraith tanks." Suggested the other Sangheili as the two started comparing the vehicle with the UNSC scorpion tank and the Covenant Wraith, or the Type-26 Gun Carriage or the more modern Type-58 version. Ignoring the conversation, Jega walked to something even more interesting to the former Silent Shadow. The giant mechs that the humans had in their possession. What he thought was the supposed Mobile Suits.
Walking into the hanger that contained them, Jega can see the giant green mechs that were being examined and handled by several Sangheili Ultras, who were trying to get them open in order to pilot them out of here as they were simply too large to be fitted on the trucks they have.
One of them managed to do so and found the cockpit of the mech to be horribly inadequate to be piloted by anything larger than a human. Perhaps even impossible. They'll have to have the Huragok modify them to be more accommodating to Sangheili and Jiralhanae anatomy as, right now, it seems that only the Kig-Yar can pilot these things.
Eyeing the three machines that they stole from the humans here, Jega could see that they were quite large. Surpassing most UNSC vehicles in height. Wondering why the humans would create such a large machine as it was quite vulnerable to airstrikes and even basic mortar strikes from Wraith tanks, Jega concluded that there was something that enabled them to be effective or render such attacks to be ineffective. If there was, the Banished will find it and use it against the humans and anyone else that dares to get in their way.
Seeing that he needed the Kig-Yar to pilot these things, Jega contacted their base and ordered some Kig-Yar to come and help them bring their spoils back to their base. With that done, Jega left the hanger for the remaining thing that they acquired and probably the most important. Information.
Having found the human command center during his previous infiltration and scouting of the base in order to identify what not to destroy, Jega kept that from being destroyed as it could contain treasure troves of knowledge. Knowledge that potentially be far more useful to the Banished than any human here, hence why he had them all killed. To avoid the complications of keeping prisoners and keeping them safe from hungry Brutes.
Of course, he had checked the human tent to see how much information was there. The humans were surprisingly ignorant and lazy, even by the standards of the UNSC, allowing him to infiltrate the tent and observe what information they had easily. It was child's play in fact. Almost like these humans were all inexperienced or something.
Moving on, Jega was walking towards the command tent, where three Sangheili Ultras were ransacking the tent for any valuable information. These were some of the few Sangheili amongst the Banished that knew how to read and understand the various languages that the humans possess. Walking towards them, Jega demanded a report.
"We have discerned much from this place, Spartan Killer." Said one Sangheili as he addressed Jega with respect. "Not only have we learned the location of human villages, we have also learned the location of another human military installation nearby. Its from a different faction and heavily guarded. However, if these humans have fell easily due to our infiltration, I fail to see the same can not be said for the other humans. Especially if we use our plundered weapons."
"Especially the three mechs we acquired." Said Jega. "Even more so when we modify them with the Huragoks. Is there anything else we can discover and use? Anything?"
"There is." Said the Sangheili before bringing up a piece of human paper. "This letter contains information about a area the humans call Southeast Asia. It talks of them requesting reinforcements to help with dealing with guerilla soldiers and concerning some project that this paper," He then brought out another piece of paper. "That can win Zeon the war." Remembering the name of Zeon from the previous info he got from the humans that led to their damaged base, Jega noted the flag that this base held prior to the attack and marked it as the flag for this Principality of Zeon. He then asked where this Southeast Asia was, sensing opportunity from this information. "That information is, unfortunately, not present. However, there are maps here in this tent. So, it should be easy to pinpoint that location."
"Good." Said Jega, satisfied. "We'll be leaving as soon as we get several Kig-Yar to pilot those machines we plundered." The Sangheili Ultra nodded at that before going back to roaming through the vast amounts of paper and equipment that the humans had there while Jega walked away. As he walked away, Jega thought about the rest of the Banished back at base and those that went into raiding the nearby villages.
Prior to leaving the base for this human base, Jega had allowed two Jiralhanae Chieftains to take some of their warriors and soldiers to raid some of the human villages nearby. He even allowed them to take their sole Wraith tank along with some of their Ghosts and Choppers to make the raiding easier for them. He also allowed them to take some troop transports to carry whatever spoils they could find from the villages they raid.
Although several of the Jiralhanae, mostly the younger ones, chaffed at being led by a Sangheili, the Chieftains, for the most part, tolerated it. Both because of Jega's skills in battle as well as his killing of several Spartans on Zeta Halo. So long as Jega led them well and led them to good spoils, they'll keep the younger brutes in line. Of course, should Jega fail one too many times, then his head and body would be useful for satisfying the bellies of the Jiralhanae, who were always eager to eat Sangheili flesh.
Taking a breath, Jega made a call to the base for a status update on the raiding party sent out. What he heard, brought Jega some form of amusement.
Meanwhile
Village
"Burn this village! Kill every human you see! Take anything of value!" Yelled a Jiralhanae Chieftain as he fired his Scrap Cannon in the air, shooting hot metal spikes all across an area in the human village. This indiscriminate bombing killed a handful of humans as they ran away in terror from a pack of Jiralhanae, who were chasing them while shooting either their Spike Rifles or their Mangler Spike Revolvers. Some of the Jiralhanae laughed at this, while others went about finding new humans to slaughter, forcing their fellow Brutes to follow them. At the same time, a team of Kig-Yar had taken sniping positions and were snipping at any humans that dared to try to escape the village. The aliens were taking grim amusement as they fired their rifles at the defenseless humans, killing them with each shot.
Finally, a Jiralhanae Chieftain was smashing his way through a group of humans that decided to actually fight, hunkered down in a rundown wooden building. Grabbing human made assault rifles and explosives, the humans tried to fight against the Banished, to no avail. The armor of the Jiralhanae was just too strong for their weapons. Things didn't get any better when another Chieftain began charging into them with a Gravity Hammer, his armor and shields holding against the guns and explosives of the humans. Though the humans had initially been filled with anger when the aliens came and attacked their village, that anger had quickly dissipated when they saw what was attacking them.
They had originally thought that the attackers were Zeon soldiers coming to destroy their village for either harboring guerilla fighters or any other reason. They didn't expect the attackers to be giant monsters with near impervious armor. Soon, their rage went away and fear quickly settled into their minds. And it soon completely overtook them as one of the bigger aliens was charging at them, ignoring their feeble attempts to kill it as some sort of red energy bubble protected it from harm, no matter how many bullets they put into it. One of them even fired a rocket at it and it did nothing to it. This caused the human fighters to finally give up and try to run, but the Chieftain caught up to them in stride and slammed down his Gravity Hammer in the ground and that was all that was needed as the concussive force launched from the hammer sent all the humans flying from the impact sight and sent them all crashing into the walls of the house. Many of the humans were killed from either the massive concussive force sent out from the Brute's Gravity Hammer, rupturing their internal organs, breaking their necks or caving their faces in from crashing into something too fast, or a combination of both. The surviving humans were badly injured and were trying to crawl away from the monstrous alien when a pack of other Jiralhanae saw them and began to kill them without remorse. The Chieftain that had done the act that sent the humans flying through their own home, let out a violent roar before rushing off to find even more humans to slaughter. In the meantime, Ghost and Chopper pilots were utilizing their vehicles to kill any villages that the Jackal sniper teams failed to catch in time all the while protecting their sole Wraith tank, which was raining down plasma mortar shots at sections of the village that the Banished haven't plundered yet.
It won't be long until the killing is done. Once it is, they'll plunder this village of whatever wares and spoils they can find and then proceed to the next one. And then the next. And then the next until they run out of easy targets to pillage. And that is when the real fun begins.
