Chapter 19: Looking After

(or about dreams)

The next morning

The sun was already shining brightly in Munich, and it was no different in the room in which both Lynette and Yoshika were currently sleeping, both on the lower bunk, yet surprisingly, each at opposite sides, back-to-back, some space in between them. As the warmness of the room increased, Lynette kicked off the blankets, and it ended waking up Yoshika, who turned around to see what was going on.

Half asleep, she stretched herself up, only to end up rubbing Lynette's almost bared back as her arms made their way up. Yoshika did not realize what she did, but it still ended up waking up Lynette, who also did not realize the fact that she woke up her bedmate.

Yoshika had already sat on the bed, mostly full awoke and could notice that Lynette was trying to fully wake herself up, also stretching up, yet she was just as surprised, yesterday, when Lynette decided not to wear her usually blue squared-neck nightgown but a blue strapped-dress pajama.

As Lynette rubbed her eyes, Yoshika could feel how her cheeks reddened a little noticing that only one of the straps was holding the pajama on place, so quite a bit of her cleavage could be seen. Thankfully to Yoshika, Lynette did not notice anything and seconds later, she pulled up the strap and covered most of her chest. After taking off her sight from her, Yoshika could feel how her redness faded away.

"Good morning, Yoshika," Lynette said, staring her with smile on her face.

"Good- good morning, Lynne." Yoshika cheerfully said, now that Lynette was fully woken up, sitting on her side of the bed. "I hope you sleep well."

"I… did." Lynette said, rubbing her face, then she crawled to Yoshika's side.

Yoshika, on the other hand, grabbed the pocket watch from the nightstand from where they left yesterday. "We need to get ready to sortie."

"Yeah, you're right..." Lynette added as Yoshika stood up to pick up her uniform. "Yoshika, you're forgetting about…"

"Oh yeah…" Yoshika took a sit again as Lynette moved to beside her. Then she handed her the watch and Lynette put her fingers on her neck as Lynette continued checking the watch for a few minutes.

"I'm not sure, it feels a bit fast to me, about 90 beats per minute," Lynette commented.

Yoshika then put her hand on her chest. "You sure?" Yoshika gulped becoming a little red again, "you better confirm with the stethoscope…" she added, but as she checked the room with her eyes, she realized it was nowhere to be found, "…and where is it?"

"I must've left at the bathroom." Lynette said, but as she took a deep breath, still with the watch in her hand. "But I… Never mind…" She was about to say but then she saw that Yoshika was already checking herself, in her wrist with her eyes closed.

"You're right, it's a little less than 100 beats." Yoshika added, not hearing her, but then she realized that Lynette was now staring at her, with a somewhat downcast demeanor. "It's fast but not that bad."

Lynette was about to some said something, but she just covered her mouth with forearm and sneezed lightly.

Yoshika was a little surprised hearing that, "You… you want to assure yourself, don't you?" She asked her.

"I- I promise, I'll do it right this time." Lynette said with smile, yet her cheeks were already slightly red.

"I know you will." Yoshika said, pinching her cheek tenderly with her hand. "It's just that I for…" She gulped, "actually, it's not that important…" Yoshika just took a deep and long breath, let go of her hand and untied her dressing gown a little, then she grabbed Lynette's hand again and slowly passed it through both sides of it, still covering herself as she much as she could.

"You must feel it now."," Yoshika said, with a comforting tone as much as she could use, yet she could not help but feel a bit embarrassed about everything that had happened since she was asked to be looked after.

Lynette's hands, unlike yesterday, were not shaking but she was still a little red, and she continued checking the watch. "It's even faster now, it's a little below 110 per minute." She stated as both girls continued staring the watch now with pensive expression on their faces.

Then, the door opened wide, drawing both Witches' attention. "Are you really touching yourselves this early in the morning?" Erica questioned both girls with a wide smirk, making Lynette take off the hand from Yoshika. "I know it's a annoyance to sortie but it's not that bad." She said, now heading to them,

"What!? Of course not!" Lynette exclaimed now as red-faced as she was yesterday, "I'm just measuring her pulse!"

Yoshika stood up, "Yeah, that's- that's what she was doing!" She added, a bit blushed, gesturing her with her hands, yet the tie of her dressing gown came completely lose.

"Huh?" Erica bent to her knees. "It seems you're telling the truth, nothing to report on the perimeter." She stood up and posed. "Ma'am, yes, ma'am!"

Yoshika sat again now as blushed as Lynette, tied up her dressing gown again and crossed her legs.

"By the way, Hattori told me to give you this," She took off the stethoscope from her neck and left it on a table. "And the breakfast already served."

"Thanks…" Both Witches said in unison as Erica left the room.

"We- need to lock the door…" Lynette muttered.

"And I need to…"

Outside the room

After leaving both Witches there and being done with what she was asked to do, Erica needed something else to do, she headed to the room of the other Witch that was going to sortie in a little. And just as she did moments before, she pushed the door wide open. Though, she expecting to find something interesting, she could see that both Sanya and Eila were making their beds, each one at their side of their room.

"You know you're supposed to knock the door, right?" Eila said, not even a little a surprised.

"Sanya said I could come any time I want." Erica countered back, hands behind her head.

"Yes, because you're my friend." Sanya said, with the calm tone she usually possessed.

"Told ya." Erica added, carefreely.

Hearing that response of both girls, Eila sighed loudly. "Still…" She hissed.

"Give us a minute, I need to talk with Sanya…" Erica said with a small smirk, staring Eila in her blue eyes, "…in private."

Eila just gulped loudly. "It's- it's my room too, you know."

"I didn't say I want to move here but…" Erica bit her lip, teasingly. "I'm sure Sanya wouldn't mind it, would you?"

"I wouldn't."

Eila just grunted loudly hearing the response, and left the room afterwards, and now the two Witches were alone in the somewhat dim room, and they took a sit, in Sanya's bed.

"What did you need to talk about, Erica?" Sanya asked her with a polite smile.

"Well, I know it might a bit too much to ask but…" Erica started, "…look after Minna for me, please. I'd sortie too but she didn't ask me to, and… well, I don't want to cause her more problems, you understand, right?"

"I do." Sanya said.

"So… please let me know if something, I don't know, strange, happens, okay?"

"Don't be concerned about Group Captain Wilcke, I'll do everything I can to look after her." Sanya spoke softly yet firmly. "But if this all, you could have told Eila too."

"I'm sure she knows it by now…" Erica said, "don't you Eila?" She asked loudly.

And as expected, Eila slowly opened the door and entered to her shared bedroom, being stared by the two girls.

"Eila, you should know that it's not appropriate to hear others' conversations." Sanya scolded her with a hint of seriousness in her voice.

"I know…" Eila began playing with her fingers. "…it's just that she said…"

"You really fell for what I said, didn't you?" Erica chuckled, "I was joking"

"What did Erica say?" Sanya wondered with a somewhat curious tone.

"Nothing!" Eila exclaimed.

"That we are friends," Erica added playfully.

"That is the truth." Sanya stated.

"Just… forget about it!" Eila exclaimed "…and are you going to tell Lynne and Yoshika?"

"Yoshika already knows, Trude told her and well Lynne, she has to look after Yoshika to find whatever is wrong with her," Erica continued, "so she has her hands full… but I'm sure Yoshika also told her."

Later that day

The four Witches were flying over Ingolstadt, in Schwarm formation, Minna on front, and the three Witches behind her. Sanya was in her right side as her wingman, Yoshika on her left side and Lynette in Yoshika's left side, as her wingman. They were sweeping the cobblestone streets as they traversed the city. Now with Minna and Sanya's inherit magic, they had been able to find more Neuroi hidden around the abandoned buildings but way less that what was expected. Still, they were not an issue for the group of Witches, as they could take them out with not issues. Nevertheless, it had been quite some time since the last enemy sighting, yet Sanya's magic antenna remained red, indicating the enemy presence somewhere.

Throughout the sortie, Minna had kept an eye on all of her subordinates but specially on one of them just as she said she would do. As they continued flying, she was not able to discover anything unusual on Yoshika, in fact, seemed to be as lively and as energetic as the days she trained back in Helvetia. Not even a drop of sweat on her face, not even breathing rapidly, it even seemed that Yoshika had been resting.

On other hand and to her surprise, Lynette seemed to be struggling keeping up with the group, she even missed a few gunshots when they encountered Neuroi, but Yoshika was able to make up for her, successfully engaging the enemy.

Not long after, Minna stopped midair so did the three Witches, behind her.

"Is something wrong, Lynne?" Minna asked.

"No…" She gasped for air, "...of course not."

"Are you able to continue?" Minna questioned, fixing her gaze on her.

Lynette cleaned of the sweat of her face with her sleeve, "Y-yes, ma'am."

"You sure, Lynne?" Yoshika asked getting a little closer to her.

"Yes, Yoshika, I… feel fine." Lynette said, trying to smile while Sanya and Minna just exchanged glances.

Minna sighed, "Sanya, have you been able to pinpoint the location of the enemy?"

Sanya just shook her head in disagreement.

"I haven't either, we need to come back tomorrow, we have used a lot of magic and there's no enemy on sight." Minna announced, disappointing the three Witches, especially Lynette.

Noticing that, Yoshika flew towards to the front of her superior.

"Group Captain?" Yoshika addressed her with a nervousness in her tone.

"Yes, Yoshika," Minna replied with a questioning expression on her.

"May I- may I try something?" Yoshika asked her, drawing the attention of the other Witches

"If it doesn't present any risk for yourself, feel free to proceed." Minna stated and to her surprise and to everyone's, Yoshika slowly flew towards Minna's back side, and then she wrapped her arms arounds her waist. "What's the meaning of this, Flight Lieutenant?"

Yoshika did not mutter anything and only her hands started to irradiate magic, as if she was healing her up and not long after both Witches were surrounded in a bluish glow for what seemed to be a few minutes.

"Would you try again, Group Captain?" Yoshika asked her, still hugging her.

Minna closed her eyes. "I… I can sense their location now." Minna firmly stated. "I almost forgot you could do that, Flight Lieutenant."

"I'm glad it worked," Yoshika cheerfully said as she let go of her.

The other two Witches just keep staring at their superior, with now a troubled expression on their faces. Minna on the other hand, had a renewed demeanor as the one she used to have long ago, even her whole body continued glimmering slightly as if Yoshika was still enhancing her magic.

"Let's go?" Yoshika asked her in a low tone.

"Sanya and I would take care of them, you did more than enough for today, Yoshika, I don't want you to overextend yourself," Minna said with firmness in her voice.

"I understand," Yoshika disappointingly said.

"And neither you, Lynne," Minna added. "Nevertheless, you know what to do."

"I-I do," Lynette said, breathless.

"Stay here and wait for further instructions," Minna stated as she began heading into the city, Sanya following her, leaving the two Witches behind.

"So…?" Yoshika wondered as she turned to face Lynette but to her surprise, she had already descended and thus, Yoshika landed near where her Strikers and her antiarmor rifle were left, leaned against a wooden wall.

After taking off her Strikers, and her gun, Yoshika headed to Lynette, who was sitting cross-legged, on the grass, the watch in her left hand and her right hand was lifted, showing off her middle and index finger.

"I-I'm ready!" Lynette exclaimed, as Yoshika took a sit in front of her, in seiza.

"Okay…?" Yoshika said, taken aback by Lynette's eagerness, still she tilted her head as Lynette put her fingers on her. But just as the seconds passed, Yoshika could notice that Lynette was becoming redder and redder. "Don't be so embarrassed about it, Lynne, it's just my neck and no one's here."

"I'm not!" Lynette loudly said, then she tilted her head in all directions. "Huh? And no one's here?" She added with a playful expression.

"Of course, but… you sure you feel alright?" Yoshika asked her, now more bewildered as she had never seen her like that, "You look very red."

"Yoshika, I…" She tried to mutter something but before she finished, she suddenly leaned to Yoshika, hugging her, face to face and mouth to mouth, taken by the surprise, Yoshika fell to her back, legs spread and Lynette over her body. After a quick peck on her lips, Yoshika was left speechless, and to her puzzlement, Lynette continued trailing her face down, to her neck and then to her breasts, burying herself in between them.

"Lynne, what- what are you… doing?" Yoshika asked her, now that she had stopped, putting her hands on her on shoulders, still astounded and now blushed. Nothing was heard as a response, not that she noticed. Her body, on other hand, had a familiar-but-still-new sensation on it, her hot breath was warming her up, just like it had happened during the mornings she shared with her but somehow it felt different to her. As the minutes passed, Yoshika was still trying to grasp what was going on but then, Lynette just turned around abruptly and fell off from her, onto the grass.

Some strange sounds made Yoshika come back to herself, still-red-faced-and-clueless, Yoshika crawled to Lynette.

"Lynne?!" Yoshika asked her but nothing was heard in response, and it even seemed that she had fallen sleep, yet she was breathing as heavily as Yoshika.

Carefully, Yoshika put her hand on her face to try to wake her up but now fear got into her as soon as she touched her forehead.

"You're burning with fever!" Yoshika gaped, "Minna, do you copy?" She said through her intercom and after a few seconds that seemed an eternity to her, something was heard.

"Yes Yoshika, is something wrong?" Minna asked with surprise in her voice.

"Lynne's burning with fever, I need to her back to the base," Yoshika cried out through the intercom

"Wait for us, Yoshika." Minna stated, now with a worried tone. "It's an order."

"I'm sorry but I need to take her as soon as possible," Yoshika argued back.

"I understand, we're going to catch on you as soon as we can."

"Roger that," Thus, Yoshika's mameshiba ears and tail, put on her Strikers, lifted Lynette and began flying back to the base as fast as she could, even sparks coming out from the Shinden, carrying Lynette on her arms.

By the afternoon

The two Witches made their way back to the base, not having been able to catch on Yoshika, yet to their surprise, the rest of the Witches were there, seemingly waiting for them. To the relief of both Witches, they do not seem to be distressed, just a little anxious if it could be said that.

"What happened with Lynne?" Minna addressed the group.

"The medic said she got a pretty bad cold and they're dealing with that right now." Eila stated.

"I better check on the infirmary myself," Minna said, as she traversed the hangar, in between the Witches.

"Actually, she's in her room, Yoshika said she'll be looking after her," Charlotte added now worrying Minna.

Erica gave a step forwards. "I'm sure she knows how to do it properly, Minna."

"With her healing magic," Francesca exclaimed. "She'd be as good as new!" It just worried Minna even more.

"Yes, Group Captain, even without healing magic, she knows how to treat a patient." Perrine stated, doing the same thing on Minna's other side.

"Yes, Group Captain," Shizuka stated, in attention from her place.

"And what about Yoshika's own health?" Minna questioned the group, but nothing was heard in response until the door opened, drawing the Witches attention.

Mio entered the place, "I've just spoke with medic, and she said Miyafuji's just fine."

"Nevertheless, I'm going to check on them." And thus, Minna left the hangar and headed to Lynette and Yoshika's room, leaving the group behind and an uncomfortable silence took hold of the hangar.

"Anyways… you had worried us for a second Sanya," Charlotte commented, trying to appease the room.

"My apologies," Sanya politely said.

"It's not like something happened though, it's just a cold." Charlotte added. "Way better than being shot down."

"So… how was the mission," Eila asked her. "Yoshika didn't tell us much."

"It was a partial success," Sanya stated, "there are still Neuroi scattered throughout the city, though."

"I thought with you two, it would be more than enough," Mio added.

"I was not able to pinpoint their exact location, but Group Captain Wilcke could do it."

"That's Minna for ya." Eila said, yet Sanya did not look too complacent, she even had a serious demeanor now, it made question Eila if she said something wrong.

"Her spatial awareness is losing its capability," she softly said.

"What?" The group said in unison.

"Yoshika enhanced her inherit magic, she used herself as a magic battery," Sanya explained, as everyone paid attention to her, "that's how we were able to continue the mission."

"I forgot Yoshika could do that," Charlotte commented.

"Did something happen with Yoshika after that?" Shizuka asked her with a troubled expression.

Sanya just shook her head in disagreement.

"It's not that surprising though." Charlotte added, drawing everyone's attention. "It's obvious that Yoshika has way more magic power than Minna so is not that far-fetched that she can boost her spatial awareness."

"Regardless, we are not entirely sure how much her magic has diminished." Perrine stated.

"We saw Minna the other day, her shield is working fine," Francesca commented carefreely, but no one looked to relieved.

"That too but we don't want to end up with another in…" Charlotte was about to say but stopped on her tracks. Still, Mio started to leave the hangar. "I'm sorry Major."

"Don't be, that's why I am here, I don't want Minna to make the same mistakes I did." Mio firmly stated with a soft yet regretful smile and not long after she left the hangar.

Everyone exchanged glances, but shorty after, Erica also the left the room as the rest of the girls started to follow her, but Perrine put herself in front on the group, stopping them.

"I'm sure the two of them can handle it," Perrine stated, "everyone, let's finish with what we're doing, we don't know who is going to sortie tomorrow."

Later, in the office

Both young women were just outside Minna's office, not muttering anything yet both knew what they needed to do, still it did not make it any easier for neither of them. Seconds later, Mio knocked the door, slightly, and it just opened as it was not fully closed. The office was very well lit, with the curtains opened widely but to their surprise, Minna was not at her usual place, behind the desk but on the couch, half-laid with a glass of wine in her hand, staring at the alps.

"I was expecting for you to come," Minna stated, not staring at them. "You were right, Yoshika is fine, and she was throughout the mission."

"Not that surprising, it's Miyafuji we're talking about," Erica commented, as both took a sit on the couch in front of her.

"I don't want her to overstain herself but I'm not sure what is happening to her, the medic even thinks that fighting may not have anything to do with it." Minna stated, with her voice full of pensiveness, "but. That seems to be an explanation, it's Yoshika."

"I'm sure there must be a logical explanation to her condition," Mio said, firmly.

Minna took a sip from the wine. "Regardless of that, someone else would have to look after Yoshika for these few days."

"Lynne can still do it," Erica put in, "I mean, I don't think she'd leave her side anytime soon and they both sleep in the same room."

"This implies Miyafuji would not want to sortie for at least a few days." Mio stated, grabbing Minna's attention, as she now was sitting on the couch.

"News fly quickly among Witches, but is this what this is all about?" Minna stated firmly shifting her gaze between the two. "Just because Yoshika can amplify my Spatial Awareness, it doesn't mean I cannot manage on my own." She continued "The city is almost completely secured, and I still know the location of the enemy."

Erica got herself more comfortable in the couch. "I don't know, it seems to me your magic is getting weaker."

"I am well aware that it is fate I cannot escape," Minna continued, "nevertheless, I can manage just fine without my inherit magic at its peak." She stated, both girls just exchanged looks and then, they fixed their sight on her.

Minna sighed, "the day my shield stops working, is the day I'm going to retire."

"How exactly you're going to find out? In the middle of battle." Erica added.

"If it has to be that way, so be it," Minna argued back, "or what do you want to do, Major Sakamoto, Flight Lieutenant Hartmann? To shoot me every day until a bullet pass through?"

Erica just shrugged, "Better that than a Neuroi I guess."

"We've been through that before and it changed nothing, did it?" Minna fixed her glance on Mio, "Or am I in the wrong, Major Sakamoto?"

"I don't want you to endure what I did." Mio confessed, her tone solemn. "Even today I still think of what I could've done different, Miyafuji reminds of it, every day."

Minna just stood up and headed to her desk, to where the bottle of wine was.

"I may be a Witch just like you used to be, Mio, but I am not as reckless as you were or rather, still are," Minna served both each young women a glass of wine. "I am judicious of my diminishing powers. It's truth I haven't decided who is going to take my place her but rest assured, I will tell you in due time how everything would be arranged, and I will do everything in my power to assure that no one gets injured due to my behalf."

Meanwhile, in Yoshika and Lynette's room

"I feel fine, Yoshika," Lynette said as Yoshika continued unbuttoning her blouse, "You don't need to hear my heart."

To her surprise, soon enough she realized she was not wearing a bra, and to add her surprise, Yoshika did not reply anything and just throwed away the stethoscope and rested her head between Lynette's breasts and began hearing her heart.

"I don't…" Lynette tried to mutter something but just failed as Yoshika's mouth was on her breast. "Don't kiss me there..." Lynette started moaned, trying to move Yoshika's head from her left breast and her hand from the other. "Don't pinch my… it feels… it feels so good…"

"I… I really…. needed…" Lynette tried to say, but she felt overwhelmed as Yoshika's right hand slid down through her to the bottom of her body. "Your- your…" She continued moaning, feeling her body started to move on her own as Yoshika continued trailing kisses down her body from her breast.

"Down there…" Lynette said as Yoshika now had her face between her legs. "It's tickling me…"

"I can't- I'm- I'm gonna…" Lynette exclaimed, putting her hand on her forehead to try to get a hold on herself. But she felt something strange, and could not tell what it was, and now with both her hands on her face, she realized that nothingness was the only thing she felt. Her bedmate was no longer on or rather in her and could see how Yoshika left the greyish place they were. "Yoshika!? Wait!" She cried out and started sobbing. "Don't leave me, please…" Her hands clinging to the snow, as she crawled to her but to add her confusion, she felt her right hand was now being held, with a tender touch she could easily recognize, "Yoshika? You came back!"

"Everything's all right, Lynne, there's nothing to worry about." Yoshika comfortingly said, as she felt her cheek being caressed by Yoshika. "I'm not going anywhere."

"Where- where am I?" Lynette wondered, tilting her head to where the voice was coming from, yet just darkness was the only reality for her.

As the caressing continued, for what felt like an eternity to her, she tried to move but she could not, heaviness and sluggishness was the only thing she felt. But to her surprise, the light came back to her in an instant as if flash of camera was triggered. She struggled to keep her eyes open, but she could still see Yoshika, staring at her with a cheerful demeanor like the one she usually possessed. "What- what is this?" She asked her, still feeling something on her forehead.

"It's your bed, Lynne." Yoshika happily said. "And it's a wet towel, you have a fever."

Lynette heaved a sigh, as Yoshika slowly took of the blankets from her as well as the towel.

"I think, I passed out." Lynette added, now sitting on the bed.

"You didn't, you were just sleeping." Yoshika commented. "And… dreaming?"

"Dreaming? Did I… Did I…" Lynette gulped loudly. "…say something on my sleep?"

"Yeah, you did…" Yoshika softly said.

"I didn't mean anything of that!" Lynette loudly said.

Yoshika just opened her eyes wide, noticing her worried yet embarrassed expression. "So… we don't brew the tea for too long?"

Lynette just stared at her with the most confused expression she could have. "What?"

"That's what you were saying that everyone brews the tea for too long and it's disgusting, and that you hate it." Yoshika commented, with a somewhat compelling tone.

Lynette just fixed her gaze on her, Yoshika becoming a little red. "Nothing else, I swear, you didn't say anything else." Yoshika said, gesturing her.

Lynette just heaved a sigh of relief and rubbed her face with her hands. "I'm sorry, it's just that I was having an unusual dream about… us." Without her realizing, she put on her hands on her breasts.

"And what was it about?" Yoshika said with a fairly curious tone, noticing what she was doing.

Hearing that, Lynette could feel the fever coming back to her as her cheeks reded again, making her realize where her hands were, she took them off right away, still she could notice she was wearing her usual blue nightgown. "I… can't- I can't remember."

"Well, it may not be nothing too important, I think," Yoshika said, then she put the hand on her forehead. "What's most important is that you don't have fever anymore but you're still a bit flush though."

Lynette sighed hearing that, now she stared at Yoshika and noticed that she had a somewhat unkempt appearance, smallish bags under her eyes, messy-ish hair and clothes, her legs were covered with smallish-blueish blanket, and over there, there was a small basin with water as well as the towel.

"I'm sorry." She muttered now taking away her gaze from her.

"For what?" Yoshika wondered.

"it's just that" Lynette sighed. "I was supposed to look after you and here you are, looking after me."

"Don't be." Yoshika exclaimed with resolve in her tone. "It's my fault, we shouldn't have stayed that long in the bathtub."

"We just- we just bathed together." Lynette said, now staring at Yoshika.

"The water was too cold, and that's why you got sick." Yoshika stated. "The least I could do was to take care after you."

"It is just a cold, it's not like it is going to kill me."

Yoshika set an intense gaze on her. "Don't you ever say something like that again," she swore.

Lynette was taken aback by that reaction, "I'm- I'm not going to do that again, sorry," she muttered.

Yoshika sighed to sooth herself. "I've never got a cold in my life, and it wasn't different this time so that's why I could stay here and..."

Then she moved one of her books and picked up a small notebook, from the nightstand and handed it to Lynette.

"…I took notes of my heartbeat as Minna told you to so you could check them out when you were feeling better."

"I'm sorry I wasn't able to do it as I was supposed to." Lynette said now checking the notes.

"I can measure my heartrate myself, Lynne, there's no need to worry about that." Yoshika commented taking a deep breath "But it makes me feel a bit nervous…" She muttered quietly.

"Why?" Lynette wondered.

"It's just that I may find something I'd not like." Yoshika put her hand on her own chest. "It's just stupid actually, because even if I don't do it myself, you'd still do it and will discover what makes my heart acts weird, I think."

"Everything's gonna be fine and it has remained normal now but… it's from five days?" Lynette said now with worried expression on her face. "Was I asleep for five days?"

"You don't remember?" Yoshika questioned her with a now surprised expression. "You woke up a few times to eat and to go to the bathroom and after that I got you to sleep again." Yoshika scratched her own cheek. "And that was the hardest thing to do."

"I don't- I don't remember anything of that," Lynette said, "the last thing I remember is that Minna asked me to measure your heartbeat when we were flying over Ingolstadt."

"Well, that explains a few things." She mumbled, now becoming a bit blushed

"Did something happened there?" Lynette wondered, noticing Yoshika's expression. "Did I do something?"

"Nothing, you didn't do anything!" Yoshika eagerly exclaimed, gesturing with her hands, just in front of her own chest. "After we landed, you-just-fell-asleep-on-my-lap-that's-all… nothing else!" Yoshika said, then she tried to regain her breath and to slowdown herself a little, "You- you really worried me but as you told me, it's in the past and nothing can change about it so don't think about it, please," Yoshika commented now with soft smile. "And you're feeling better, right?

"I am." Lynette said, stretching herself up.

"Can you stand?" Yoshika asked.

"Sure thing," Lynette said with a bit more of eagerness in her tone.

"That's good because Minna called me and the rest to the meeting hall for who-knows-what and well, if you can stand, it would be better if we hear it for ourselves," Yoshika explained, "Or if you're not still feeling too well, I can tell you what the meeting was about."

"Better going." And thus, Yoshika helped Lynette to stand, and covered her back with the blanket she was using before.

Not long after, both Witches made their way to the meeting hall and as expected, everyone was already there, seemingly waiting for them.

"I'm glad to see you're doing better, Lynne." Minna stated. "Please take a sit, both of you."

"I'm going to make this as brief as possible. Now that Ingolstadt has been secured, I gathered you all here to make two announcements." Minna stated. "HQ had called Mio and me to Berlin to discuss our next move. I'm not sure how much time we will need to stay there."

"Which means, Lieutenant Clostermann, you'll be left on charge again." Mio added as the Witches exchanged glances.

"And what's the second announcement?" Eila asked both superiors.

"A notice from Romagna arrived," Minna announced, drawing everyone's attention, but more specifically, Francesca and Charlotte's, "and it states that Ensign Lucchini is required there."

"Why?" Francesca asked with a hint of worriedness in her tone. "I'm not in trouble, am I?"

"You're not, Ensign Lucchini, it's the first duchess is requesting your presence there," Minna stated.

"For what?" Francesca wondered.

"I'm not entirely sure, nevertheless, it says that you need to bring a truck," Minna said. "Therefore, Lieutenant Yeager, you are going to take Ensign Lucchini there, understood?"

"Yes, ma'am." Charlotte replied.

"And this all for today, feel free to continue with your daily activities." Minna said, "you're dismissed." Minna wrapped up and she and Mio left the meeting hall afterwards, leaving the Witches behind.

"Well, Lynne, it's good to see you're as good as new," Charlotte commented.

"Yoshika didn't leave your side the whole week." Eila commented lightheartedly.

Hearing Lynette just fixed her gaze on Yoshika, who could not return it.

"That is truth, the medic even came to monitor you and she said Yoshika was doing a great job looking after you and of course she monitored her as well." Perrine added.

"And Yoshika's as healthy as usual, not that surprising though," Erica said, carefreely.

"She even used her magic to heal you up!" Francesca exclaimed.

"It didn't work though, but it was worth the try," Yoshika added, still not returning the sight.

Charlotte put her legs on the table and crossed them. "You know, I was kind of envious that you had such personal and devoted carer like Yoshika."

"I'd do the same for any of you guys," Yoshika added a bit blushed, as she shifted her glance to the group and then she set it on Lynette.

"We know that Yoshika," Sanya commented softly giving her a polite smile as Lynette slowly got herself nearer Yoshika.

And to everyone's surprise, her face got even closer to Yoshika, their lips almost meeting one other, the two of them gazed into each other's eyes, everyone got a bit red, staring at the scene, not knowing what to expect next, but not all of them looked as flattered.

Now Yoshika being warmed up and blushed by Lynette's warm breath she could not help it but close her eyes, as lightly as she could. Yoshika did not know what to expect soon enough, she felt her cheek being slightly and tenderly touched by something she just experienced for the first time a few days ago.

"Thank you, Yoshika" Lynette gleefully said, after a quick kiss on her cheek.

Now blushed, Yoshika just touched her own cheek and then her pinched her own lips lightly, "it was- it was nothing."

Author Notes:

That Yoshika's skill is something that was said she had in one of the games.

Lynne's dream sequence is obviously a parallel to Yoshika's dream from the fifth episode of the first season, (way more unrestrained though).

Finally, what Lynne did is kind of a parallel to what happened with Trude when she felt unconscious after using the jet striker, I even wrote a longer version of what she did, but it felt way too out of place, so I took it out. Even now I'm still thinking that this chapter was a bit too over-the-top but whatever, or what do you think?
