Chapter 62: The Contract

"Woah, it's Lady Murder Mittens! Cool!" called out Sun Wukong, alongside his trusted companion Neptune and even Velvet, the rabbit Faunus. The trio walked up to a surprised Ruby. Initially, the cheetah Faunus had planned to check out the everyday working of things post the 'Fall of Beacon' as others had put it, and she previously lost few chances to do so.

Of late, she had the vague feeling that she was running into people more often than not. First it had been Raven and Tai, then Sienna and Adam, the Belladonnas, and then it had been Ironwood (who was rather relieved to see her but was also equally pressuring her to give him answers about the whereabouts of Winter, Glynda, Ozpin and the others), Professor Port (who insisted that Ruby give a live demonstration of combat techniques at class but one that Ruby flatly refused after her debacle with Pyrrha) and now this trio. On the other hand, she was also well aware of how much others were avoiding her, namely the Quincy, Jacques Schnee, other students of Beacon academy and others.

However, the biggest, unavoidable interaction was definitely the numerous body tackles and bear hugs she received from her adorable(unhinged) android companion. The memory of crashing through the wall and into a classroom full of surprised students was still fresh on her mind, with Penny plonked on top of her with a wide grin.

All in all, she could never get to the place where she'd planned to go and would almost always end up getting sidetracked.

"Wait…is it just me or do you look 10 or so years older now..?" asked Neptune, putting on a comical set of glasses and a mustache "My junior detective senses tell me something's off about her"

"Who cares? That just adds to the charm" commented Sun. "Maybe we could even grab a coffee or something-"

"Quite the amusing name the two of you have come up with" she said with a smile, pulling on each of their ears. "You can call me Ruby-san or just Ruby if you will. Although, I'm surprised to see you hanging around with these two, Velvet".

Velvet gave a small chuckle. "I am surprised at myself as well. As you know, I'm not…the most comfortable around people. It can be a bit overwhelming, yes, but once you get to know them, they're rather fun! You'll realize they're nothing but two dorks too airheaded to tell their noses from their ears! If you ask me, I have my doubts about their participation in the Vytal Festival" she chimed, making Ruby wonder about her unique choice of words.

Velvet then sighed. "You should've just asked her straight like I told you to" she shook her head. "Sorry about that, Ruby. These two, and um..myself included as well, simply wanted to ask you about a few things. We weren't sure if you would mind answering them so…Sun here thought he'd invite you to a date and try to ask you that way. And I, of course, told him how terrible of an idea it was" she sighed.

"Yeah well, given that you're a cheetah Faunus and how quickly you took care of the Pride of Mistral, the name 'Lady Murder Mittens' quickly stuck with the folks around here…can you imagine anything cooler than that? You're pretty popular amongst the Faunus, that's for sure. You know, being a Cheetah Faunus and all. Many are even expecting to see you fight at the festival. I'm curious too, to see what kind of sick fighting moves you'll pull off" Sun managed to let out as he struggled to free himself from Ruby. "Anyway, we were wondering if you'd know something about Blake, since you were the last one to see her…"

Ruby slowly eased up. "Oh right…that was a thing too…" she said to herself, tilting her head. "Even though I see the preparations for it everywhere, it still escapes my mind. Just as Blake seems to have forgotten about…" She then sighed again, asking them in an exasperated manner. "I appreciate you two looking out for her, and trust me, that's a lost venture. But I'm sure she's safe. Let's just leave it at that, shall we? Rather than a date, why don't I treat you guys to lunch today? I'd love to hear more about your school life here in Beacon"

And so, the trio accompanied the older cheetah Faunus later that day, where Ruby had a rather insightful, and in Ruby's opinion, fun outing with the trio. Both Neptune and Sun had a very different impression of Ruby during their conversation, seeing her more like a 'cooler, older bro' than anything; and the cheetah Faunus too had no trouble going along with their antics, much to Velvet's amusement.

But she wouldn't be spared of any excitement either. For one the Cheetah Faunus couldn't resist being a little too playful and touchy feely with the rabbit Faunus, and Velvet could swear Ruby's silver eyes looked hungry wherever she laid eyes on her, not to mention her ears that seemed to perk up or her tail that would swish around excitedly, as though she were eying prey. Whenever Ruby mentioned craving meat or going for a sprint, Velvet couldn't help but laugh along nervously or yelp out with a tiny 'eep!'. And at that point, Neptune and Sun couldn't tell if the older Faunus was doing it on purpose or if she was simply oblivious, but it was all in good fun all the same. All in all, even the cheetah Faunus felt a whole lot better following their encounter.

One piece of information, however, would catch her by surprise.

"Ozpin…? Did you say Opzin was the headmaster of Beacon…?" she questioned them, raising her eyes.

"Um…yeah? I mean, why wouldn't he be? I thought you'd know better than anyone, since you're actually from here…" answered Sun.

"After the battle of Beacon, he DID disappear for a day. But we simply assumed he was with His Majesty about how to handle the mess here. And it seems to be the case too, since the school opened almost overnight, leaving no traces of battle. I knew Professor Ozpin was influential, but I admit I never expected this…" added Velvet. "And I thought the festival wouldn't happen. Considering that a good deal of students DID get seriously injured, not to mention some dying…but, in His Majesty's words, 'That is exactly the reason we must commemorate their courage in fighting evil, and for keeping up the spirit of survival and comradery'. I even heard that His Majesty himself will be participating"

The trio watched Ruby curiously, who seemed to be lost in thought. After a minute or so, she simply got up, making an apologetic face. "Seems I need to catch up then. Sorry about that, I won't make excuses. I just need to go see him then. There's a few things I need to ask him. I'll catch you guys later, promise. Let me know whenever the junior detectives are on the prowl again, I'd love to join in" she grinned, bumping fists with them, and giving Velvet a quick head pat.

She then paid for their lunch and left.

It didn't take her long before she found herself standing before the enigmatic headmaster of Beacon, who almost looked expectant.

"You don't look too surprised to see me" he said, hinting at her to take a seat. "I suppose you're rather used to such occurrences to let it bother you too much"

Ruby nodded. "Ichi and the others found their way here, so it's not that surprising that you're here. Plus, I simply assumed you'd want to be here, considering that you and Glynda wouldn't abandon the students of Beacon. Although, I'm curious to know how Yhwach even allowed you to be here, considering that you're not exactly on his side. I'm…assuming Urahara-san also gave you some means to travel back?"

"Close. I cannot go back on my own, not at the moment atleast. However, my scroll IS indeed connected to the one I left behind at Kisuke's lookout. Since this one is special, it isn't connected to BG9's network. And is therefore completely confidential" he answered.

"How are my brother and sisters? And Tsuki? The Espada? What of…..what of Yang, Blake, Weiss and the others?" she asked, looking away.

"A bit shaken, as is understandable. However, this is a learning experience for them all the same. One I'm sure you can relate with, even if you wished for them to lead a different path. You have some good friends there. Enough for me to trust them to take care of the students I left in their care. Lady Yoruichi for one, was rather insistent that I leave Ms. Belladonna in her care and no one else's. I can't claim to know why, however" he remarked with an amused and curious smile.

Ruby couldn't help but smile fondly, imagining the scene. It made her wish once more, to be with them, watching over them as friends and family from both of her homes warmed up to each other. And yet, other thoughts pushed those feelings away.

"You could always find a way to return, I'm sure Mr. Urahara would have the means to do so" proposed the headmaster, "But….I also see that you need your own space, from the reluctance in your expression"

Ruby nodded.

"Unlike the other students, you, Ms. Rose, are one who ill needs my advice, given your history. So let us speak of other things. To answer your previous question, my presence here was also in part due to our new ruler as well. I remember finding myself in the garden here, when he walked up to me, extending his proposition to me to continue my work here, with students from all over the world alike, including the Quincy. And when I asked why, he merely responded with 'You are Remnant's history personified. The vast knowledge and perception you possess is something that is comparable to myself or my siblings. You have seen the rise and fall of humanity itself, and are the gods' chosen champion. There is none better than you to lead our people into a better future, one without the influence of the gods. I'm sure that is your goal as well, yes?'" stated Ozpin, adjusting his glasses. "I must admit, he certainly has what it takes to rule and exert his authority. But in a way, this is mutually beneficial to both of us. It will give us a chance to monitor the changes of this world, right at its epicenter"

"Mhm. I leave it to you, professor. If you need my help with anything, I'm willing to help as best as I can" stated Ruby simply, looking uninterested. "So, the festival is still happening?"

"Even a simpleton can feel the emptiness in the weight of your words, Ms. Rose…" thought Ozpin inwardly, "Of course Ms. Rose. However, rest assured that you won't be running errands for me while I slack off. You have done more than enough on your part" he chuckled. "And you are welcome anytime to visit me, be it to convey information to your family, or vice versa. Regarding the festival, it would appear so. You have no doubt seen signs of it. And while it seems to be in rather poor taste, a lot of people have come forward in support of it. A sign of survival, tenacity and will to fight against Humanity's worst enemies, Yhwach called it. At one point, the festival stood as a sign of the end of the Great War. And today….it very well might signify the beginning of one"

Ruby nodded once more. They then spoke of other things, such as Ruby's current experiences with the inhabitants of Remnant, as well as some of the students. Ozpin found himself smiling when he saw Ruby's dull silver eyes gleam just a little bit, as though they were filled with light when recounting her experiences interacting with those in Remnant.

"All in all, those dorks seem to be taking it rather well, for everything that's happened" finished Ruby, thinking back about Sun, Neptune and Velvet. "I imagine it won't be long before they even get along with the other Quincy here in Remnant. Now that's a sight to see…."

"True. It would. I sincerely pray for that as well. I'm sure you're well aware, humans are rather quick to adapt, especially when facing a common enemy. And she…she's done a rather fine job of it in the past week than she ever did in the last few eons" he recounted. He then spoke of his encounter with Salem, and her odd invitation to Ozpin.

"Truthfully, I am conflicted, Ms. Rose. On one hand, every fiber of my being warns me against this folly. And on the other hand, I believe it would give me a new perspective that I may never have the chance to experience. Considering that you have had your own experiences with the Ruler of Hell, I thought it best to ask for your opinion"

Ruby found herself deep in thought, while Ozpin waited. After a while, she slowly spoke, in a tone of uncomfortable aversion.

"I think you should take the chance, professor. I…" she looked away, and then sighed dejectedly. "She's a being of her word. That is all that I know. Whatever you deserve, you'll get it through her hands. Be it justice, retribution, or punishment. And if she's extended her hand to you, and promised no harm, then she cannot go back on her word. That is who she is. I know more than anyone the importance of getting new insight. Therefore, I think you should go, professor"

Ozpin sighed as well. "Very well. I shall take your word for it. It would perhaps be difficult to do so under the watchful eyes of the Quincy. However, I would not be surprised if she had a workaround for that as well. However, will you not come around, Ms. Rose? Perchance you might get the opportunity to see your daughter and mother as well and even rescue them…"

A painful tinge shot through Ruby, when memories of that night came rushing back in. That feeling of her very soul being ripped out of her being. Of her losing her sense of self. And the primal fear of the Ruler of Hell, both from that night as well as from her journey through Hell. And the fear of seeing her loved ones in a state she didn't want to see in, a state she herself was in, just two years back as an Arrancar. All in all, it simply made her bar such thoughts altogether. Her eyes simply went back to their dull, uncaring state.

"I won't force you if you don't feel up to it, Ms. Rose. However, if at all you change your mind, I will be waiting" said Ozpin. "Please, don't let me hold you for any longer. That will be all for today"

"No…that's ok. I just needed a second" groaned Ruby warily. "I have my apprehensions, but wanting to see my adorable little rascal and mom trumps any of that. I'll come along with you, professor. Mom and Crescent sacrificed themselves to protect me. That's why I wanted to stay as far away as I can from her. But I still very much want to bring them back. So I'll come along, even if it's just to assess the situation" she replied. "And…I suppose I'm also interested in why Galathea is interested in you, when she's normally very indifferent"

"Then let us be off, Ms. Rose. Before either of us change our minds" suggested Ozpin, getting up. Ruby nodded, and the duo left the office together. Through the corridors, passing by students, Quincy, teachers and other members of the staff and the academy, the duo finally made it far away from the grounds.

"Urgh, I sure could use a bear hug now, Brun…." Ruby thought to herself quietly, before they set off.

"Lord of Hueco Mundo" greeted Ukitake, walking towards Lily. She returned a smile. On one side of her was the hooded girl, lying down on Lily's lap, sound asleep. And on the other was a young woman with long, bright pink hair. She wore a short standard shinigami attire that showed her legs and forearms. Her right sleeve was rolled up past her elbow and tied with a red string. The left half of the kimono was draped around her waist and her chest was wrapped up in sarashi, as were her left forearm and upper thighs, extending down to her right leg.

"Is that…..Lieutenant Kusajishi?" asked Ukitake, surprised. Lily nodded.

"She is, as you know, Kenpachi's Zanpakuto given form. Specifically his Bankai given material form. Regular shinigami can manifest their Zanapkuto onto the material world, subjugate them and attain Bankai. In their case however, his lack of connection with his Zanpakuto and the fact that his asauchi did not belong to him when he first stole his Zanpakuto, meant that Yachiru….no, Nozarashi never developed like other Zanpakuto spirits. She was his, and yet, she was her own spirit as well. But like with any other Zanpakuto, the moment a Soul Reaper is on the verge of death, a Bankai reverts back to its Shikai form without its master's permission. Which is what you're witnessing. Only after both of us convinced her that Kenpachi was still alive did she calm down. Fatigue then took over, leading to this. She should return back to normal soon enough" she explained. "Although, this one was certainly sour about being the only one being a child in form" she snickered, pointing at Crescent.

"She's quite the looker, who would've imagined she would be the Zanpakuto of someone like captain Zaraki. We'll send someone over from the 4th squad to help them recover, and to give a proper burial to Ikkaku and Yumichika's bodies" added Kyoraku, hand on his chin. "What of the other little troublemaker?"

Crescent simply stood up, supposedly speaking with Lily, before disappearing with a ritualistic looking portal.

"Ah yes. She told me that her job was done, and asked me to look after Yachiru here. Her soul is being held captive under my sister's contract. One that protects Ruby from her fate. She is bound to her duties, like all of Galathea's minions. Yet, a hollow, a Soul Reaper and a being from Hell can stay like this" said Lily, looking up in a reminiscing way. "This feeling is the same as I remember. And yet….those that I shared these memories and feelings with are no longer the same. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all reach an equilibrium again, like we did those eons ago?" She then walked over to the two soul reapers.

"Masters Ukitake and Kyoraku…I assume you have finished training for the young ones for the day?" she asked, who nodded in return.

Kyoraku nodded. "Those kids are pretty darn impressive. At the rate they're going, it won't be long before they're just as strong as a Shinigami captain, or even more…."

"Winter, Qrow, Amber and Glynda are already there, if I'm being honest. In fact, Winter's development has been progressing at a spectacular pace. She's already able to fight Vasto Lorde level opponents, while the others are catching up as well"

"An occasion to celebrate, wouldn't you agree? How about we play a round of cards, for old times sake?" she proposed, to which the two captains could only blink, confused. The Lord of Hueco Mundo, one of the four archangels inviting them for cards?

"It's not all that strange, is it? Starrk used to join you for many games, did he not?" she smirked. "And he IS a part of me, just as Crescent was originally part of Ruby's soul. I haven't had the chance to meet others like this, in a long long time. This form is also temporary. Thanks to the Espada and Ruby teaching Starrk and Lilynette how to control their spiritual pressure, I can exist like this, without incinerating those that approach me because of my spiritual pressure. So I want to make the best use of the time I am given. Don't you agree?"

"...I suppose so. I did invite the others to a round of drinks as well, to better know each other while the kids did their own thing. Qrow was rather looking forward to it, while Glynda and Nanao were quick to withdraw. Renji-kun accepted as well, as did Amber, if only to watch. Even Neo-chan decided to give company, despite how prickly she is . The Espada opted to be with the kids, if I remember" he answered.

Lily nodded in approval, and before they knew it, soon began a bizarre gathering of individuals, with packs of cards and drinks to go with it. Kyoraku, Qrow, Roman, Neo, Ukitake, Renji, Urahara, Amber and to everyone's surprise, The Lord of Hueco Mundo herself as well as Kyouka.

One question lingered on everyone's minds regarding the enigmatic situation, but Roman would be the one to speak out the apprehensive words.

"The brother gods be praised, how are you this bad at the game? And I thought this guy was the unlucky ruffian…" he rasped in a stunned stupor, and the tension fell just as quickly with multiple sighs of relief. Lily couldn't help but tilt her head back and laugh, while Kyouka and Urahara sported an amusing smirk.

"To think I would agree with Roman Torchwick of all people…" rasped Qrow in a drunken stupor. "To surpass my shitty semblance…you're tellin' me you're a god and you can't win a single round of poker..?"

"Ever the unfortunate one, my dear sister..…" smirked Kyouka.

"Maybe I'm just 'de-void' of luck today…" she sighed, making those around the table groan at her desperate attempt at humor. Neo straight up held a sign that read 'Get out'.

"Come on, you have to admit that one was good!" she argued, rubbing Neo's head to which the latter only rolled her eyes, her sign now reading 'My grandmother can do better than that and she's not even here'

"And now, my adorable companion is being treated like a damn hamster by one of the gods" Roman was unsure if it was the liquor, but he couldn't help but widen his eyes in surprise to see the ice cream girl get along with anyone but himself. And yet, not only was Neo strangely fine with Lily's playfulness towards her, she even seemed far more composed than normal. In fact, she and Lilynette had been the only ones Neo had been comfortable around.

"Before this gets too out of hand, sister, I assume there's a purpose to this….occasion, correct?" asked Kyouka, making Lily sigh once more.

"You really need to sit back and take things easy, Kyo…" she said, seemingly disappointed. "Tell me, tis a wonderful thing, is it not? A millenia ago, a gathering such as this would be nigh impossible. We would've been at each other's throats before long. A shame too, a path that only leads to loneliness and emptiness. But we did have our times of peace, where such visions were possible. Even I would've never imagined a world wherein a Hollow, a Soul Reaper and a child from Hell would ever set aside their differences and see each other for who they are. And even our little game today, has shown that it IS possible to achieve such balance, through better means. A way to fight for our beliefs without involving the world with it. A way to showcase our skills in a mutually agreed upon contract. A rather festive method too, wouldn't you say? You know what I mean, don't you Kyo?" she asked.

Kyouka raised her eyes in surprise. "So that's your game. I never took you for such a schemer. A really bold move, for someone like you. And yet, while I find this plan of yours interesting, how will you ever convince our dear siblings, sister mine?"

"We can use these, can't we?" asked Lily with a naughty smile, taking out the Sword of Destruction. "How convenient of my brother to throw away such a priceless thing, and I knew you'd not resist the temptation to bring such an artifact along with you when you stopped both of them. And that means….can I borrow it for a little bit, Urahara-san?"

This time, Urahara seemed to catch on what was going on as well. "Ah….so you plan to….I see. Yes, I can see that as a solution. One that might not satisfy everyone, but one that everyone might look at with the same light. In which case, I assume you need this, will you not?" he asked. He then took out a tool, which transformed his hand into a wood like texture, which he then used to pull out an object from within his body. The hole that opened up in his gigai closed up without any evidence of injury. In his hand was an ornate crown embedded with light blue jewels.

"Oy you can't be serious….is zat what I think it is..?" asked Qrow, his eyes wide.

"The Relic of Choice…." gasped Amber. "What do you…?"

"A keepsake from Ozpin-san. I was surprised when he said he hid this inside his own soul, like I once hid the Hogyoku inside Rukia's gigai. Considering that he was returning to Beacon, he believed it would be safest to keep it here, away from Yhwach and Galathea. So I leave this in your care, Lily-san. I trust you to keep it from the wrong hands" explained the shopkeeper, handing over the Relic of Choice.

"Thank you, master Urahara. I will keep it safe, you have my word" said Lily with a polite nod. "Now….let us make haste, shall we Kyo?"

"And what if this plan of yours doesn't work? Are you truly willing to risk igniting their ire even more?" she asked. "In the worst case, nobody gets what they seek, and everyone is left dissatisfied. And you will be the reason for it. Though that is an interesting paradigm too. Uniting against a common cause. Though I'm sure that is far from your intention"

"Maybe. However, even in that case, we're all left equally empty, and that too, is another form of equilibrium as you said. But you know our dear siblings as much as I do. One seeks to put an end to the chaos at Remnant and Earth and return things to the natural order, but without heed for consequences and collateral damage. And one seeks to invite it and rewrite both worlds in his vision. This method will give them that opportunity. But it will also give me the opportunity to restore equilibrium to the races for the next few eons, and it will give you the same to observe this world and its evolution. And I'm hardly worried about the success of this plan. After all, I have you by my side, don't I?" she explained with a smug smile. "If anything, I want to get this done with the little time I have left before my form reverts back"

Kyouka couldn't help but smile. "Aptly put. Very well. This too, is a new chance. Let us be off then" she said, opening a Senkaimon.

"Hold on Lily…what's this all about?" asked Ukitake, to which the Lord of Hueco Mundo simply hinted at Urahara to explain things.

"We shall be back shortly, everyone. Hopefully in time to finish our game today. I'll just be off for a little sibling reunion" she winked, before walking through the gate with Kyouka Suigetsu.

"That was crazy amazing! You just created a lake out of thin air with a single attack!" chirped Yang excitedly, gazing up at Tier. "Argh, I wish I could just punch a giant crater with a single punch or something! Or just stand there like a badass and tank a giant explosion like Nel! We just seem so far apart…"

"You could start by not trying to attack everything you come across, little one" advised Harribel.

"And don't feel too discouraged" cheered Nel, patting Yang "In my view, all of you are growing at a spectacular pace. Not only did you all successfully retrieve your weapons by going through the Soul Society, you can even control your abilities much better. And they've become stronger too in a short time. I don't disagree that Kyouka and Urahara-san have been a part of it as well, but your own efforts have been just as important. But most importantly, you should take the time to enjoy your time here. I'm sure Ruby would want that as well"

"And no matter whom you look up to, I'd advise you not to take inspiration from that ruffian," added Sung-sun, looking at Grimmjow, who glared back. "He's all brawn and no brains that one, and absolutely no class. I mean, really? Letting out a howl like that as an attack? How primitive…". Weiss nodded.

"Eh, really? But it was pretty cool though! Did you see the shockwave he created just from roaring? And he's pretty strong too! You just clawed through that lake-creating attack in a single swipe!" chimed in Nora, elbowing the Jaguar arrancar. "And you guys too, Sung-sun, Mila, Apacci! You make our teams look like amateurs! That. was. Badass!"

"Hmph. Out of you lot, that Winter woman's the only one showing some promise" he grinned in anticipation. "I'd say in a month or two, she might be worth my time. That Amber woman might have had me interested, if she wasn't covering up for that unlucky bastard all the time. How pathetic do you have to be to have an ability that works against you in battle? Though I'd understand if he used that as a way to get a kick out of making things more difficult like Zaraki, but I doubt it's anything like that"

"Hey don't talk about Uncle Qrow like that!" snapped Yang, growling angrily back at Grimmjow. "You wanna go, you jerk?!"

"And my sister will definitely put you in your place" huffed Weiss. "I doubt she would need more than a week or two to do it"

"I'll take your word for it when you can say that to my face without hiding behind your skirts" he stated, grinned gleefully. "Until then, just keep sucking up to Nelliel and Harribel and stay home like good little brats"

He then walked away with a satisfied, gleeful grin still plastered on his face.

"Man, what an ass…" sighed Karin, joining along team WBY, JNPR and the remaining Espada. Closely behind her were Yuzu, Ichigo, Uryu, Tatsuki, Orihime, Chad and even Rukia in their school uniforms. "If Ruby-nee was here, she'd have set him straight. I bet he's just acting like that because no one else's saying anything"

"I do get the impression he's the type where talking does nothing" said Ren with a deadpanned expression. "In that regard, Nora and him are rather similar…"

"Hey, now that's mean!" protested the orange haired girl, pouting. "I only do that if I feel like smacking that person with my hammer, you know!"

"Now I can't tell if it's you or Yang who's trigger happy ehehehe…but I like them both, they're both fun!" giggled Orihime.

"Does he…not want us here?" asked Pyrrha, somewhat saddened. "I admit we're not as strong as him or the other Soul Reapers and the Espada. But we're trying what we can to fit in.."

"Grimmjow has always been too proud and too arrogant to admit what he is really thinking. He bodes well, for the most part. But he can be difficult to deal with. Don't take it straight to your heart" advised Tier.

"Yeah, I'm even surprised at how far you guys have come. Trust me, I've been there, and I thought I was pretty amazing at the time…." admitted Tatsuki. "I'm sure given a few weeks or a couple of months, we should be able to deflate his head a little no problem"

"I'd join in too, if I wasn't so swamped with school all the time" sighed Ichigo. "Dammit, I need to train and find out what the heck happened to my abilities as well…."

"Yeah, but dad's pretty strict and always finds out if we try to use our Soul Reaper powers…" chuckled Yuzu nervously. "I've tried a lot of times to sneak away from home and practice in secret, but he always seems to know where I am ahahaha.."

"That's…not something I expected from you" admitted Chad in his usual deadpanned voice, "And you should probably keep that one to yourself, you're not really being discrete"

"Was Grimmjow….trying to get on their bad side just to get them motivated..? Or was it just so they would be agitated enough to fight him at some point?" wondered the Quincy, but shook off the thought.

"Anyone up for a quick game?" asked Tatsuki, and soon they found themselves in the field. Wiess, Uryu and Tier needed persuasion from the rest and the Tres Bestias joined in after seeing Tier did. Team WBY and JNPR had to admit that it was rather odd watching the Espada; powerful hollows, arrancars that could change the landscape in mere seconds with powerful abilities were currently playing football with them in casual clothing, not that different from themselves or other humans.

In fact, some of them like Apacci and Mila-Rose who had been rather reluctant in the beginning were rather into it. Even Weiss was trying her best to get past Nel and Ichigo to score, whilst barking orders to Blake and Orihime. Following that, the Espada headed back to Hueco Mundo while the rest of the teens plus Rukia headed back to Kisuke's hideout for dinner.

While a good portion of the hideout was still being used as a makeshift recovery center for the wounded, things were relatively calmer compared to before. Momo, Yoruichi and Gin were busy tending to other matters, Kisuke and the others, who were nowhere to be seen, leaving the children to their own.

The group did notice Blake quiver with fright the moment Yoruichi passed by, who flashed a playful, sly grin at Blake before going on.

To say Blake had mixed feelings was an understatement, because she completely sympathized with Yoruichi's actions and emotions, being part cat herself. The ex-stealth unit commander wasted no opportunities toying around with Blake, and even 'showing her the ropes' the moment it was discovered that Blake's Faunus ears returned in her soul form. The group then began having dinner, whilst talking about a diverse set of topics, including Yoruichi and Blake, team WBY and JNPR's fascination with everything in Karakura town, the battles, their game of football, and what not.

"Come to think of it, maybe Yoruichi and Blake are related?" pondered Ren. "You both have golden eyes, dark hair, are cats, and…..are like ninjas?"

"Now that you mention it…." added Jaune. "Was she secretly your ancestor or something?"

"They do say cat offsprings look almost identical. It very well could be…" added Weiss.

"Don't encourage her…" pleaded Blake, sighing. "I don't want to go through that ever. I'd rather live through that night in Beacon again.." she shivered, making them wonder just what about the enigmatic ex-stealth commander could be to make the most mellow member of team RWBY react in such a way.

"Speaking of Beacon…I wonder how things are there. I heard from Mr. Urahara that they started classes again, and that the Academy is up and running. The Quincy really are something huh? But then again, Atlas Tech was another reason too" commented Pyrrha. "And…I wonder how Ruby is doing"

"I was surprised by their level of civilization as well" added Ichigo. "Way more advanced than anything we have here. As for Nee-san…Mr. Hat and Clogs says that she's…managing. That she's found a good friend of hers, who is also quite high up amongst the Quincy empire"

"Heh…Aneki was always good with people" said Tatsuki with a smile.

"..." Yang had a neutral expression on her face, before she spoke up "I see. Good for her. I'm happy she's worked something out…."

Weiss sighed, her expression difficult. "While I get where you're coming from Yang, we don't really have an option. I want to ensure our trip back home does not end up with needing others to rescue us and having to put Ruby in a difficult situation, again" Team JNPR and Blake nodded in agreement.

"True. I want to see my parents, and Ruby. But it's annoying that we're not capable of that, even as a group. If she's found someone there, and has Ozpin look after things, I suppose we can only trust in our leader. As for here, I rather like Karakura Town" said Blake. "It's quiet and peaceful, with the right mix of nature and technology. While scrolls are convenient, I find these 'smartphones' just as ingenious as well. And I would love to visit the libraries here sometime"

"I can show you if you like" offered Chad, and the two began talking about said possibilities within the next weekend.

Blake had to admit she was rather surprised about Chad. She never expected he would be far more calmer and organized than she'd assumed. At 197 cm, he seemed almost overbearing to her. But Chad was rather respectful of her personal space and was rather reserved and quiet himself. And while he seemed to have an intimidating aura in the beginning, to Blake, that feeling was completely reversed after spending time with him. He gave off the aura of someone whom one could depend on, a steady pillar of support that cast a warm, protective aura. It reminded her of her own father. A gentle giant and a gentleman, in her own mental words. Not that she would mention it to him or anyone else for that matter, of course. And it put her at ease, especially considering recent situations.

"Forgetting that, I'd love to drive a bike from another world any day. You…don't have strict traffic rules here, do you? I mean, I've gotten into trouble a couple of times, but I really dont have the money you guys use. What was it again? Japanese Yen? Maybe I could just put it on your tab?" winked Yang, elbowing Ichigo playfully.

"Unfortunately for you, and luckily for us, none of us actually have a bike" sighed Ichigo, making Yang drop her jaw in disappoint "Laaaame"

"I also saw a lot more shops selling food. It's so uncommon for…so many people to be around. We're always afraid of Grimm/White Fang/Criminal attacks. Therefore people consider it expensive to set up shop without additional security" said Pyrrha.

"Are the hollows there really that bad?" asked Karin, slurping her Ramen. "I mean, sure, we have hollows here but usually they're no big deal. Even in a hollow infested town like Karakura, we have Soul Reapers who take care of such things. Heck, most people don't even see them"

"It isnt my place to say this, but as an adult, I would advise you to not slurp while eating" came the voice of Winter Schnee, with a soft but reprimanding tone.

"Winter!" exclaimed Weiss, running up to her sister, who then promptly stopped her with a stern gaze, scolding her about table manners and proper conduct. Needless to say, the younger Schnee's enthusiasm was instantly dialed down a degree.

"Wow, I heard your sister was strict, but even Tier has a soft spot for her Fraccione and Ruby-nee" commented Karin.

"A little discipline goes a long way. What you are at home and at ease, carries over to the battlefield and to the outside world. I'm merely ensuring my little sister grows up to be a responsible adult" said Winter simply, and that was that. The others in the table couldn't help but make deadpanned expressions at the freezing cold presence that was Winter Schnee.

"How have your training sessions been with the Espada and the Soul Reapers? I will take whatever actions necessary to ensure my juniors face no unjust treatment while under my care" she declared, making them further sigh in amused disbelief.

"You can chillax, sis. If you're a freezing blizzard, then they're a warm bonfire. It's actually rather fun, and really strong!" winked Nora, earning her a disapproving nod from Winter and a glare from Weiss.

"Yeah. I really like the Tres Bestias. I've…never had the chance to look up to someone before Ruby came along. And then the Espada came along, and there were far too many people for me to look up to in my life than I ever had before. I can't wait to train with them sometime" added Pyrrha. "Don't you think so, Jaune? It'll be so much fun, the two of us learning from such amazing warriors!"

Jaune however, seemed much more unsure than his companion. "Uh..yeah, yeah, sure!" Man, I wish….but I'm nowhere near in strength to these guys, let alone the Espada. I'll be a laughing stock for sure….

"Nel's really fun to hang out with" said Yang with a softer smile, which was uncharacteristic of her. "And so is Tier. If I ever had an elder sibling, I would easily say it's Tier. She…ah…Ruby did say that Tier was the one who took care of her. I even heard she confused Tier for me. She's really awesome though, and I feel like I can't catch up to her. But it makes me feel cool all the same. But Nel's really like a cool upperclassman. Like Coco! She's dependable, strong and kind. Heh, I wish I could be half as badass as any of them. Nel even called me to accompany her to explore with her! I really look forward to it"

"Just don't make me go through another day long 'training' session with Yoruichi.." pleaded Blake in a comically desperate manner. "I'll take anything else but that. I really don't want to be nibbled on my ears or get play bites ever again…", making the others imagine the wildest of scenarios with deadpanned expressions.

The others had similar comments, but Winter picked up enough. "Let me guess, Grimmjow hasn't been exactly cooperative has he?" she sighed. "I detest infighting in times like these, but just give me your word and I'll promise to do something about-"

"Woah there sis, it's all good!" assured Nora again with a haphazard smile. "He's a bit loose, yeah. But he's cool, he's cool, totally!"

"And if I'm going to show him his place, I'd rather do it properly, without relying on anyone's help. I'd hate for him to think that I confided in you simply because I was too weak" added Weiss, determined. Winter looked at her sister skeptically, but sighed, seemingly convinced, after looking at the pleading stares of the others. As far as personal pride went, she could more than understand the feeling.

"Has Weiss given you any trouble during her stay with you, Rukia?" she asked.

"Not at all. She's a wonderful person to have around. Everyone in the Kuchiki household is rather surprised at her manners and elegance. She has even been very respectful around the ongoing funeral proceedings. I couldn't ask for a better companion during my times of mourning" replied Rukia with an assuring smile, much to Winter's satisfaction. Weiss couldn't help but beam at the Soul Reaper, and even give her a small hug.

"Amber has been having a troubled time with Qrow as well, having to clean up that pigsty he calls a living space. I tell her not to act as his personal maid, but she insists. Bottles of alcohol, food strewn about, dishes cluttering the sink, I truly ponder how he became a huntsman. He's a disgrace to everything that pertains to personal wellbeing" she sighed in irritation. She looked as though she had half a mind to storm his place and deliver judgment herself. Yang could only look away ashamed. "Regardless, it is rather pleasing to know that things have been proceeding well. We've yet to hear any official news from Professor Ozpin or Ms. Kyouka. Mr. Urahara has been working around the clock with the Soul Reapers to manage things and secure better living quarters. There are talks of moving some of us to the Soul Society and granting us access to the World of the Living. That is all" she said, before heading back her way.

"Won't you sit and have dinner with us?" asked Ichigo, to which the Winter maiden politely declined. "Thank you, but I have other further appointments with Professor Glynda, Nanao and some of the other officers with the Soul Society. I will definitely take up your offer next time. I am also interested to watch Ruby's family in person"

They watched her leave with somewhat odd looks, and Weiss in particular looked sad. "T-take care and don't strain yourself, Winter.." she called out, but her sister was already out of view.

"She seems rather occupied with things here" noted Uryu. "Has your sister always been that way?"

Weiss nodded. "As the eldest Schnee sibling, she always took it up to herself to be responsible for her country and her household. I really respect her. But at times, I can't help but hope she would spend some time taking a break as well"

"She reminds me of how my own brother used to be.." noted Rukia, reminiscing. "If he were here, I'm sure he would get along quite well"

There was a silent pause. Rukia's expression looked rather forlorn, for understandable reasons.

"How's…how are things back home?" asked Ichigo.

"As I mentioned, the Kuchiki household is still in mourning of course. After all, the head of the Kuchiki family passing means a phenomenal deal. There are still a lot of things to be settled down, but as you'd expect…"

"They're already speaking of electing the next heir, aren't they?" asked Weiss. Rukia nodded, sighing. "I completely understand where you're coming from. When my grandfather died, it was the same. We also had to deal with assassinations, internal strife, politics and the like. In that regard, you're really something. If Winter ever….." she swallowed, the words choking in her mouth. Rukia placed a consolatory hand on her shoulder.

"My apologies for souring the mood. We were just enjoying a nice meal, I didn't mean to upset everyone" she said. "I still need a bit of time, but I will be fine. And your company there has been most uplifting. In fact, I would love to show you around the Kuchiki mansion. Perhaps we could even train together, considering that our fighting styles are similar, and we both use ice as our main element"

Weiss's expression brightened up. "Yes of course! It would be my honor! I was also thinking.." she said, her face flushing up a little. "Ichigo, I've heard you're quite skilled yourself. This is purely out of curiosity, of course, but perhaps we could….we could train together as well?"

The question took several of them by surprise, with some of the quick to corner Weiss with smug smiles of their own. Jaune sighed in dismay, which in turn soured Pyrrha's own expression with disappointment, making Ren sigh. The chain of reactions in turn made Nora facepalm. Ichigo himself was rather confused, while Karin wasted no time elbowing her brother in a teasing manner.

"Hooh…was Ichigo the only one you've heard of? You're going to leave out Uryu, Karin, Yuzu, Tatsuki and the others? Or is the Ice Queen having another agenda perhaps?" snickered Nora.

"Tatsuki-chan, isn't this the time where you should speak up?" asked Orihime curiously, to which the raven haired girl feigned disinterest, but Orihime knew her friend lied as naturally as she breathed. It did lead her to entering her 'wild fantasies' headspace, visualizing herself, Tatsuki, Rukia and select others surrounding Ichigo, until Nora invaded, both within her dreams and in reality.

"Tsk tsk, that's way too mellow, my orange haired compatriot. Now this is more a party!" she cooed, and the two girls entered a shared headspace, with far more girls in far more exotic settings, and one that also included Ren. Tatsuki, Rukia, Blake and Yang could only watch in pure horror, disbelief, yearning and amusement in that order. Their reactions were only accentuated further when Pyrrha went with the slightest of whispers "Do..do you think there's perhaps some space for Jaune in there as well…?"

"It's going over my head….." said Yuzu, tilting her head, while Karin simply patted her sister, shaking her head in understanding. "It means our brother's becoming much more popular" she said with pride. "Ah, Ruby-nee, your friends are even better than you said they were. I'll never be bored ever again" she said, her hands clasped in prayer and crying comedic tears.

"They look like they're having fun…" said Ichigo dryly, scratching his head.

"What are they even talking about at this point..?" asked Jaune.

"I wouldn't know better. Though I know it's usually nothing good when Nora makes that face. I never thought I'd ever find another one just like her, in a different world no less" said Ren. "Still, you really don't get it? I thought Tatsuki and Pyrrha were being rather…obvious. You didn't look the type who was this dense, Ichigo"

"I'd say that goes for you too….." asked Chad in monotonic disbelief.

"This is beyond being 'dense'..." added Uryu, unsure of whether to steer the conversation elsewhere. For one, he'd hoped they would be able to address some of the more serious topics he had in mind, such as Ruby, the Quincy and even their next steps.

While Kyouka's words had gone right over everyone's heads, it kept Uryu thinking long and hard about things to come, moreso because he was a Quincy himself. He was surprised that Ichigo wasn't the same, considering that his connection to the Quincies was one just as deep as his own. But he also knew that the orange haired teen was never one to openly reveal his thoughts to others. Perhaps he has his own plans and thoughts, Uryu had thought. But it didn't take away the unease Uryu felt regarding the situation. For one, his father's annoyance at having to host so many new teenagers had been clearly visible, even if the others didn't see it. While Pyrrha, Jaune and Ren had been wonderful guests, there were a lot more people than Ryuken had ever used to have.

"Subjectively….a lot has happened even here. Things that normal teenagers would never have to deal with in their lifetimes. It hasn't even been a week since Rukia lost her brother. Ichigo, Karin and Yuzu had to witness that monstrous form of their elder sister, which goes for Yang as well. And these guys just lost their place of schooling and effectively their homes. I suppose it's best to allow things to proceed at everyone's conveniences and ask my questions at a later time.." sighed Uryu inwardly, before joining in with the others.

"What is the meaning of this?" demanded Yhwach, his hands ready to tear asunder those in front of him. Standing in the empty halls of the Royal Palace, amidst the most restricted space in all the realms, was Aizen Sosuke, The Queen of Hell, and the Lord of Hueco Mundo, in the presence of the Soul King himself.

"You summoned us, father?" asked Galathea simply, humbly bowing her head.

"I did" spoke up Lily, with a smile. "My, it's been so very long, Gala, Yhwach, Kyo. It feels nice to see you all like this. The last time we met was around 10000 years ago, wasn't it? And now that I have this form, I thought I would gather us all once more, in front of dear dad, because I had something very special for our 10000 year reunion"

"To think that you would bring me here of all places. While my objectives are vastly different from before, it is rather kind of the Lord of Hueco Mundo to put me right by the Soul King's side, isn't it? It means little to me now, but it's rather hard to resist the opportunity" said Aizen with a curt smile, with his Zanpakuto pointed at the Soul King.

No sooner had he done that, Galathea's hand was immediately by his neck, while Lily was quicker still, having her hand gently placed on Aizen and Galathea's shoulders.

"Please don't joke like that, Aizen. I thought you'd be better at reading the mood than that" she sighed exasperated. A chill passed through the ex-5th division captain's spine. Galathea too looked pensive, before slowly drawing back. "And dear brother, I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't move in to defend our maker as well. You do realize that without him, our realms won't exist right?"

"You know my goals as well as any other here, sister mine. I refuse to acknowledge the authority called 'God', even if it is my own maker. A world that depends on such a linchpin to survive and one that allows beings such as your kin to thrive in it is a flawed one and one that I plan to correct" he answered. "Along with you and Galathea"

"Hoh? Speaking rather like a god yourself, aren't you, King of the Quincy? It sounds rather counterintuitive to me. Like a web of twisted lies and truths, fabricated to suit your narratives, just like that kingdom of yours. Atleast our damned sister here is true to her words, as narrow minded as they are. How do you plan to remake the world with such illusory ideals, when you cannot even see the illusion draped over your every eyes, my dear kin?" asked Aizen, his smile growing wider. The scene in front of them shattered like glass, revealing a very different picture.

In place of Aizen's figure was the Soul King, confronted by Lily and Galathea, just like Aizen's figure from a few moments before. Galathea's eyes gleamed with anger, as she instantly backed away from her creator, as did Lily. Aizen's real form was nowhere to be seen. Instead, it was Kyouka who stood by their side, who had a sword by Yhwach's throat. The Quincy King parried away her sword, putting distance and drawing out his own weapon.

"Kyouka, while I understand the reasons for your act, I do not wish to see my children strike down each other through falsehood and deceit while intending to come to a truthful agreement. You summoned them in my domain for a proposal. Therefore, I shall disallow any use of deceit, abilities and conflict in my presence, until the end of this discussion, to maintain the sanctity of truth" stated the Soul King, and an imposing sensation passed through the 4 archangels, one that marked the Soul King's words exactly as he stated them.

"My apologies, father. This is in rather poor taste for a reunion, I admit. But Sosuke thought this would be the quickest way to get those two to listen and participate" she admitted, withdrawing as well.

"...Your arguments are sound, dear. I can't even scold Aizen because I'm rather impressed at his antics as well. As he said, he didn't even try to hide his intentions, and we still fell for it" she sighed, giving up. "But please don't scare me like that, I realize our maker isn't one who children such as us can harm, but it reflects poorly on our relationships, don't you think?"

She then turned to her kin. "If he had really intended for it, we might have very well incapacitated one another. We're no better than our respective kind when it comes to falling prey to fallacies. Even now, you two continue to war against each other. At some point, I will just be left to mourn my two siblings who know nothing else but how to oppose each other, while the world around them burns. Instead, why not make a contract to put an end to this senseless conflict?"

Yhwach raised his eyes. "A contract? With my mortal enemy? Regardless of the contents of this 'contract', why would I enter into an agreement when my purpose is to clearly destroy those that this world does not need?"

"Because it might be exactly what either of you might need to tip the scales in your favor" answered Kyouka, using her abilities to conjure up a vision of sorts. It showed a massive war that covered the plains, fields and oceans of both realms, in a multitude of reds, blues, greens and yellows. "As it stands, neither can gain an advantage over the other. I am neutral to all causes, acting only on my own behalf. Lily here seeks to equalize those that don't see eye to eye. Eventually, she too will need to participate in this endless war to save her own world. It will only lead to a stagnant stalemate. However…"

The vision changed to show the four Relics in front of the Soul King, who then granted a singular figure one of the four Relics pointed to by the figure. "What if we could use a higher authority to break that stalemate? To help grant our desires through the means of a contracted war, or perhaps, contest? Thanks to our circumstances, we each have one of the holy Relics. Lily has the Crown, I have the Sword. You have the Staff, Yhwach and Galathea acquired the Lamp from your forces after her recent raid. We battle for the relics. And let's change what we do with the Relics so that when gathered, the victor can truly decide how to govern both worlds as its linchpin, just like our dear father? The Relics, of course, will simply be used as a symbol to decide the victor, and not as a tool to summon the Greater gods"

"Naturally, it would be meaningless if this 'contest' itself never ended, especially if we participated in it. We don't want to eliminate each other and our worlds and people with it, after all. Therefore, we can choose proxies, avatars, champions, if you wish, who will participate in our stead, bearing our purpose. And there will be terms that denote the end of the contest. The rules of immortality for example, will be nullified to equalize the scales. And this could happen in a cycle. For example, once every 1000 years. We even have the perfect occasion. The Vytal Festival. Instead of something that marks the end of a war, it will mark the end of a conflict much, much bigger in existence. And much grander in scale. In short, each one of us will have the opportunity to govern and watch over the worlds as we see fit for, say 1000 years, before the die is cast again" continued Lily.

"And yet, the main essence of a contract is to contain terms that give as much as it takes" said Galathea. "While the proposition appears sound, it is imperfect. There is nothing to stop one from eliminating the other and thereby becoming the sole victor, is there?"

"A simple clause such as 'The destruction of the worlds shall NOT be permitted to maintain the sanctity of the contract' would avoid such a trivial problem, sister" replied Kyouka swiftly. "You who deals with karma and contracts of the soul surely thought of that?"

"...Very well, proceed" she said.

"And for argument's sake, even if I entertain such an idea, what prevents the kin of the Soul King such as ourselves to nullify the contract?" asked Yhwach. "And what if the prize I desire is not one that can be granted by this little scheme of yours?"

"Your fears can be put to rest, my son" answered the Soul King, speaking for the first time. "For that will be a contract in my name alone, and therefore, even my own children must abide by it. Both your kin have fully explained and explored the conditions and possibilities of this proposal before summoning you and Galathea here. And upon my authority, I confirm that their words ring true. I am merely a governor of this world, and it is not my role to interfere. That role is up to my children. However, if there is something that all of you can agree upon, it is very well within my power to grant it"

"And yet, you know that I desire a world without such absolute authority, and without two of the participants of this 'contract'. Your words are impure, and therefore, meaningless, father" reinstated the Quincy King.

"Even you know it is folly to desire everything without paying the price for it, Yhwach" replied Kyouka. "While you cannot erase the Hollows and the beings of Hell, you can reshape the world into one that effectively functions as one, for you will be its overseer. While you cannot erase the Quincy, my sister, you can deliver their due karma to them, and to any others who have violated the natural order as you have always done. The same applies for me and Lily. We all have things we cannot acquire, and yet, this is a method to enable us to fulfill our purposes"

"That is correct. Which is why I stated the same. This proposition will no doubt allow you to fulfill your roles in this world. And yet, some things will remain lost to you forever. A price for one's purpose, as it has always been" added the Soul King. "And I will merely be the mediator to enable this contract"

There was a moment's silence, with Yhwach and Galathea staring at each other, the Soul King, at Kyouka, Lily and then being lost in thought.

"Very well, I accept" said Galathea, coming forward.

"And I as well" said Yhwach, stepping forward. "But know that it is meaningless, for I shall simply ensure that the Quincy remain the victors for time immemorial"

"That remains to be seen, brother" said Lily with a confident smile. "Phew, it finally feels like we're agreeing upon something for once! And at father's place too! It truly does bring back memories!"

"How human of you, sister. I would advice you not to push your luck. If not for the conditions imposed on us in this place, this farce would not-" started Yhwach.

"And yet, at this moment, we are in a non-aggression pact" cut in Galathea. "We can leave our opposing thoughts to the festival. Until then, I can take this opportunity to say that it is rather pleasant to see you in a form that does not take the lives of those that approach you, sister"

"And I as well, Gala. You don't look all that bad either. You seem to be doing much better compared to 10000 years ago yourself. Let's…hope that we can talk a bit more sometime. Hopefully in better circumstances" she smiled back.

"Then, let us decide the exact terms of our contest and our futures to come" suggested Kyouka.

After a rather lengthy and tense discussion, the terms deciding the fates of two worlds had come to an end. Yhwach and Galathea wasted no time returning to their realms.

"I'll leave the rest to you, Kyo" said Lily, yawning. "I think I'm at my limit. Do brief Starrk, Lilynette and Ulquiorra about everything as well. Of course, if you need me, feel free to call upon me"

Kyouka and Lily then made their way back to the World of the Living.

Response to reviews:

Monster King: Thanks a lot!

PhenomsServant: I responded to your comment in the edited version of the previous chapter, that was a good point you brought up, I agree!

Argorok: Thanks a lot as usual!

AshEshyr: Yeah, the older chapters are really kinda rough. If I ever post this fic in AO3 or something, I do plan to space them out/re-write certain parts in a better manner.

Xeno01: True. They lack her insight as well. Which is why Sienna is so interested in Ruby and thinks she's not all that better than her. Yeah. Let's hope Adam's perspectives change as well, for the better possibly.

Haha yeah, this chapter does dedicate a lot of stuff to the gangs of both worlds interacting and talking about stuff. There will be more of this stuff, dropped in bits and pieces as and when stuff happens.

True. I actually assumed that with Raven way before they showed that actually. In that she was likely a much different person pre-Summer's disappearance. That's…kinda the angle I went for in my version of Raven in this fic as well.

Well, let's hope Oz has a better time this time around.

Thanks as always!
