Twins missing in duals worlds chapter 5
I don't own Gravity Falls nor Amphibia: Gravity Falls is owned by Disney and Alex Hirsh and Amphibia is owned by Disney and Matt Braly.
-Plantar kitchen.-
A couple weeks after the basement flooded, they managed to patch up the leak, but it had been decided that Sprig and Mabel would be permanent roommates. In the here and now, Hop Pop was freaking out, and Mabel noticed.
"Hey, are you okay?" Mabel asked, not knowing what this was all about.
"No, of course not, Mabel. Don't you know what day it is?"
"Um, like Tuesday?" Mabel asked nonchalantly.
"Tomorrow's the pop luck, and we need to decide what recipe we are going to try."
Polly then whined, "Do we have to?" She really did not want to go through the pop luck for some reason.
Mabel being the opposite, was excited by this opportunity, "Can I help? Can I, can I, can I?" Leaping like an excited dog.
Sprig made a cut-it-out gesture over his neck behind Hop Pop.
"Sure thing; since you're new here, I'll let you choose which recipe from 'The Old Ways' we will use."
She read through it. "These all sound terrible!" Even by the standards of Amphibia, these foods look bad.
"Apologies, these traditions are the reason us Plantars are as beloved as we are." Hop Pop demanded.
"Got any better idea, Mabel?" Polly asked her.
"Well, I always get first place at the bake sales!" Mabel said, with well-earned pride in her voice.
"Oh, someone that actually won. We get last every year." Polly said, glum at her action.
"And as such are forced into the shame cage." Sprig help elaborate
"The what?!" Mable exclaimed in horror.
"Every year, the family with the worst dish gets forced into the shame cage to be ridiculed for a night," Polly said, not liking it.
Sprig then added, "The winner gets a shower in coins."
"That's messed up on sooo many levels. But fear not! With me here, that shall not happen!" Mabel declared proudly.
"You're going to make sure all the other competitors meet with..." Looks left and right. "tragic 'accidents.'" Polly said, bending her flippers in the quotation methods.
"What? No! I'm gonna help you cook!" Mabel said.
"Oh, so that's how you win a cooking competition. Let someone else do it." Sprig said.
"But we Plantars have always cooked these recipes. What would my great-gam-gam say?" Pointing to a picture of her that Mabel had never noticed before. It was a picture of what looked like a pale purple frog in a rocking chair, looking down on her angrily. She was knitting a plaid quilt displaying the words 'TRADITION MEANS EVERYTHING.'
"Like, I get that tradition is important to you. And for at home, you should cook what makes you happy, but with this contest, think of it as a way to learn something new?" Mabel said since that was what they wanted.
"You had me, and you lost me. Later." The pink frog said, walking away.
Polly grabbed his hand, "Stay."
He pouted but listened.
"How about… cinnamon rolls! They're fairly easy, and everyone loves them!" She wasn't sure if they should do something more complicated.
"Cinnamon?" The baby asked.
"I know of rolls." Sprig said.
"Let's get baking!" Mabel said. Hop Pop decided not to abject if everyone else was in agreement.
"What do we need?" Polly asked.
She wrote down a list of ingredients For them.
Sprig grabbed the paper, "Let's see..." He went to check the Cupboard and came back exactly five minutes later. "And we don't got most of them?"
"Don't worry, surely we can get them," Mabel said, wanting to help in any way she could.
"I think I know where we can purchase some cinnamon, but it's not cheap." They better win it or else.
"And the Flours have dough?"
"Don't worry, I know how to get it cheaper," Stan has been teaching her his ways. She was a decent haggler as well.
"Sounds ominous, but we can make it work."
"You guys are awesome. Seriously, these guys over here are the best." She said, pointing at the Plantars.
"I'll lead the way," Sprig said, leading them to their destiny. "Maybe we can add raisins to the cinnamon rolls."
Mabel got scary, "They won't find the body if you try."
Sprig gulp, "Understand."
Mabel got friendly again, "Good."
The rest of the family followed him.
-At the Bakery-
"You can have the dough if the boy marries my daughter." He said, pointing at Maddie, who was smiling evilly. The frog that Hop Pop explained was named Ribbitson Flour explained.
"We could do that. Or we could work out a luckiness business deal that will benefit everyone." Mable said, saying a word she heard her brother use once, and it made her sound smart.
"Go on..." Mr. Flour said, looking to see Maddie pout but then shrug her shoulders.
"Easy come easy go. Hahaha." She said, with an evil smile on her face before laughing hard.
Mabel explained her idea to both families. "Why don't we directly sell a fraction of the crops to you? I mean, you make baked goods, and having fresh veggies can help. You can even get a deal." The Plantars were willing to try it.
"I will do it if the Plantars keep their end." He said.
"We're good for it." Hop Pop said they really weren't, but why ruin this deal with facts.
"This is Perfect." She said.
"What the heck, I made worst deals on less. Here you go, have fun with the potluck." He said, handing it over to her.
"Thanks!" The family said.
Next, they went to the grocery store, where Mabel and Polly wound up manipulating the owner into selling them everything they needed for three coppers. Polly now loves haggling.
"Teach me your secrets." Polly pleaded.
"Oh I will, I Mabel tee it." she grinned, trying a new catchphrase.
"Don't say that again. But we can go haggling some more." Polly said, laughing evilly.
"This can only end in good." Sprig said, unaware of the situation.
"This is going to end in tears." Hop Pop said.
Polly eventually stopped laughing, "Okay, what else is on this list."
"Nothing to it but to do it." She said, ready to bake it.
Polly then spoke, "Lead the way, sister."
"Hope it is good." Hop Pop said, still feeling wrong, but she was working with his family, and he felt that should be encouraged.
She happily showed them how to make the recipe.
"I got some roll poley crullers. It might help with the spiral in the pictures."
"This is great fun." She said, happy to be cooking with the Plantar family.
"It is nice to have everyone helping with the cooking for once." Hop Pop said, being passive-aggressive.
"I always love cooking with others." Mabel cheered out.
"Glad someone around here does." Hop Pop said, looking at his two grandchildren.
"They don't?" She asked, thinking that would be an easy thing to figure out.
Polly got indignant at this, "I'm five."
"I have a poor attention sp...what's that?" Sprig asked, distracted.
Mabel grabbed Sprig, trying to get him to focus on the task at hand.
It got Sprig's attention, "Huh?"
"Think of the food, Sprig," Mabel said.
"I do like to eat." Sprig said.
She smiled. Bribes always work.
He smiled, "I see no consequences."
They kept baking and eventually had a batch ready, even if they had to work through the night.
He enjoyed the smell. "Think we might win?" He asked her.
Mabel smiles, "Don't worry, we got this."
"Take this. Good luck." Polly said, handing her a metal umbrella.
Mabel happily let each of them try one.
"This is great." Polly said, "Six should be enough for the pop luck." They had three, "Oh five, forgot you, Mabel."
"All good. We can make more." Mabel could be selfless at this.
Polly starts to think she likes the taste of human food.
They arrived at the potluck, and Mabel couldn't hear what the Mayor said about the others.
"Now, what do we have here?" The Mayor asked, looking at their food.
"I am Mabel."
"Oh right, the strange creature, you're with the Plantars?" He asked.
"Yes, I am!" She said proudly.
"Well, might as well try it. Toadie, go get the stomach pump ready."
"Can do sir." The small blue frog, which Mabel assumed was Toadie.
"You're about to eat your words! And delicious food!" She said, sure of herself.
He grabbed the fork and slowly ate the cinnamon roll.
The Plantars plus Mabel watched in anticipation.
"Well, I am surprised. Plantars get last place." The Mayor said. Toadie then started to whisper into the Mayor's ear. "I mean first, sorry folks force of habit." He said, a bit embarrassed by this.
The Plantar cheered as the [REDACTED] family was put in the shame cage instead of them.
"I literally can't believe the words about to come out of my mouth. Get to the center for the copper shower." Mayor Toadstool said.
Mabel happily walked with them.
They got the umbrella ready as coppers were thrown their way. Apparently, they were literal when they said shower with coins.
"Remember, kids, dodge and grab." Hop Pop advised dreaming of this moment for years, and now after all this wait it was finally here. This would change things for the Planatars. Mable squeaked in surprise that they were actually having stuff thrown at them, but she used her agility to dodge and grab. She manages to get through the whole ordeal without getting too horribly bruised up.
Polly expertly caught it. "Use the umbrella."
"Oh, right." Mabel happily obeys the advice of the child.
They smile, not having to worry about the rent for a while.
"I admit I didn't expect this, but Mabel, you really proved yourself today." Hop Pop said, so proud of her for what she had done.
"Aww, thanks," Mabel said, so happy to be getting the praise.
"Maybe we can add a couple of your Ea-arth recipes to the old ways." Hop Pop offered.
"I would like that Hop Pop," Mabel said.
"Sprig, Polly, we are going to take about a tenth of that to the side to save them for the trip to Newtopia." They needed to be smart with this money.
"Thank you, guys. You have no idea what this means to me." Mabel was holding back tears of joy.
"Don't worry, it might have been a few weeks, but you certainly proved yourself capable." He saw her smiling so big. "You know, I thought you would be more trouble than you were worth. You proved me wrong."
"I get that a lot." She said, not minding even a little.
He chuckled at the unofficial fourth plantar. Mable hugged him at this. This surprised the old frog.

Sprabel for life!
What inspired you to make this fanfic?
Which show do you like better, Amphibia or Gravity Falls
My response: Thanks, I wanted to give them their own version of Spranne against the world. Well why watching Amphibia season 2 finale, I was wondering what it would be like if Dipper meet Anne during season 3, my friend suggested having the Mystery twins goes to different worlds, and the rest as they say is history.
