Twins Missing in Dual Worlds chapter 6.
I don't own Gravity Falls nor Amphibia: Gravity Falls is owned by Disney and Alex Hirsh and Amphibia is owned by Disney and Matt Braly.
To celebrat Owl House series finale, here somethign that have nothing to do with Owl House.
Mabel whines, "I'm so bored." Sprig and Polly were looking for a game for the three of them to play.
Polly found something, "Hey, these watermelons are heavy. Give me a minute."
"Melon!" She said so happy to get to play. Sprig walked over and lifted up one of the melons and tossed it.
Mabel went back slightly as she caught the watermelon in her hands.
"Good now throw it at Sprig; points if you land on the face." Polly set the rules up.
"Wait, I don't think I am comfortable with..." He dodged as she did so.
"Oh, man!" She whined. Going off to find the melon. Forgetting they had others, and it was likely in pieces at the moment.
"Let's go follow her." Polly worried for her friend.
"I can't see how this could go bad!" Sprig followed.
"Don't say that. You're going to curse us. Curse I say." Only to get her brother to laugh at her dire warning. They went to find the human girl.
Mabel didn't notice them, as the sweater fanatic was focused on exactly one thing, "A kitty!"
"A what?" Polly asked, looking at the fuzzball. She then noticed a threat that the Pines had not, "Mabel, there are wasps behind you." Mable ran and grabbed the kitty-like creature in her tight embrace. She was so happy even if the danger was near to her. "Must run faster." Polly had to remind her of that fact.
"I'm running, I'm running," Mabel said.
Sprig leaped through the air, "Get through the clearing they won't chase us there."
"Good idea, Sprig," Mabel said, getting herself and her new friend to safety.
Polly leaped to Sprig's back, "Fly, you fool." She said. They eventually got to safety. Mabel is good, Polly alive, Sprig full of adrenaline, and the strange cat creature alive and well.
"Okay, Mabel, Sprig, that was too close."
"Totally," Mabel said, gently stroking the top of the cat thing's head.
"So what did we get that was worth all of the trouble?" Polly asked, looking at the creature.
"A kitty! It is so adorable, I'll care for her, and I am keeping it." The human declared.
"I've never seen one before," Polly said.
"Neither have I." Sprig said.
"They are adorable!" Mabel said, picking up the cat bug by the front two legs and hoisting it in the air.
"I guess it is kinda cute," Polly said.
"Glad you agree. Now we all agree she will be our pet for all time." Mabel tossed the bug in the air.
"Woah, woah, woah. Sorry, Mabel, sweetie, but Hop Pop has a no-pet rule after Charlie big bottom." Polly explained as her brother agreed.
"Who is that Polly?"
"Oh, that was a pet daddy long leg we use to have. Polly and I use to play with it."
"What happened to it?" Mable asked.
"What did happen to it, Polly?"
The younger sister responded, "I don't know, one day it was just not around anymore."
"Did Twig eat it?" Mabel asked, confusing the Plantar siblings, who just look at each other.
"Who, who dat?" The baby of the family was genuinely confused.
"Oh, right, you never met him. Just me during that…incident with Hop Pop."
"Your insane, but your fun. So I'll put up with you." She heard her brother agree with her sympathy.
Mabel gently put down the cat, which eyed Sprig, as she picked Polly up and threw her in the air like a ball and caught her.
"I'll remember ahh this when ahh when I am ahh bigger." The baby threatened, much to Mabel's amusement.
"Umm, guys. Should this happen?" The kitty was biting on Sprig's leg.
"Don't worry. Cats do that all the time." She assured her pseudo-brother.
"What are we going to do with it?" Polly wasn't convinced that the whole pet thing would work out.
"Love it! And hug it!" She said, yanking it from Sprig's leg.
"Ow." Sprig cried out.
"SO I guess cooking it is out of the picture." Would be ironic, considering what it tried to do to Sprig.
"No! We don't cook cute things!" Mable said and held it close to her chest even if it did make a mess of her sweater.
"Guess you have your heart set on it. What do we call this thing."
"Salt n pepper! Since it has black and white colored fur." She said, holding it up as he lazily attempt to paw at Polly.
"Fair enough. He must really like Sprig." She said. as the beast escaped Mabel's grip, she went to licking Sprig.
"Awwww!" Mabel sequel.
"I think she is trying to savor me." Mabel just laughed at the ridiculousness of the statement.
"We will need to hide him," Polly said, trying to take charge.
"We'll keep him in the basement."
"What if he escapes?" Polly gave a reasonable question.
Mable laughed. "He won't!"
"This plan is foolproof." The two girls gave their version of a high five.
"I finally got him off my leg." Sprig exclaims. Mable picked up Salt N Pepper, and then Mabel started to make the kitty-bug a sweater.
"You're fast with that."
"The fastest knitter this side of the Mississippi."
"I don't know what that means." Polly turned to Salt N Pepper. "I don't like how he looking at me." Salty eying her deeply.
Mabel misunderstood what was going on, "It's loooooove."
"Now he licking his lips." Polly leaped on Mabel's shoulder at this. Mabel just laugh at the actions of the alpha predator. Polly held onto Mabel's head, and Mabel decided to try to help comfort her.
"We really need to do something about…" Polly turned her body left, center, and right, looking for something ."Wait, where did it go?" They saw his fur near the door to the house, he must have went home.
"We have to find him," Mabel said, so worried. They went to see where it went. They wound up finding it upstairs. About to jump on Hop Pop while he was napping!
"Don't worry, Mabel, I got this." She leap, and Polly pushed Salty to the side, so when Hop Pop woke up, he saw her.
He was confused. "What are you doing?"
"I just wanted to wake you up, so you didn't oversleep."
"We'll that's shockingly considerate of you." He complemented his granddaughter.
"What can I say, I am a widdle angel," Polly said.
He laughed nervously at that.
She keep close, hoping Mabel could help salt out of there.
Mabel grabbed salt and shaked out of there.
"I'll go see how Sprig is doing now, byyyeeee." She said.
He was suspicious. He was sure Polly didn't like Sprig that much, and what was that noise while Polly was talking?
Mabel ruffled Salt N Pepper's fur. The cat mewed at her. "Can you say, Mabel, Ma-bel."
"Mmmeeeewwww!" It said, snuggling up to Mabel's chest.
"You're smarter than some people I know." She said, tossing him in the air. Salty gave her cheek a lick.
"Aww, you remind me of my pet Waddles." She wondered if waddles was being taken care of. "I am going to do horrible things to Dipper if Waddles is hurt." She said to the cat bug thing. It just kept his big eyes at his human.
Polly then yelled, "HEY SPRIG, WANT TO MAKE EXTRA SPICY BREAKFAST." To warn Mabel that Hop Pop was nearby.
"Don't use the flame thrower." He said, distracted by what Mabel was doing.
Mabel ran upstairs to investigate, leaving Salty by himself with her yarn supplies. Salt went for one of her yarn balls, thinking it was a toy. By the time she returned, it was destroyed. Upon learning it made a mistake, Salty tries to make his eyes big to earn forgiveness. Mabel was overwhelmed by the cuteness and hugged him.
"Mabel, breakfast!" He said out loud.
She rushed upstairs screaming, "food!"
"Why you kids insist on playtime before breakfast, I'll never know." He could see fresh grass on her sweater. She gulped. Fortunately, he didn't think anything weird about it, "Must be a human thing."
"Yes, that's it." Mabel never was one for lying.
"Now the house been a little dusty lately, so I'll need you and Polly to clean up. The crops won't be ready to harvest until tomorrow, so I want to use this day to clean." She whined but agreed. Her Partner in crime did not agree, Polly thought this was good.
"I'll help with the roof." Sprig offered.
"I'll do the basement!" Mabel said, wanting to play with her kitty now. Polly figured she would help Mabel. "That is a great idea, Polly."
The two rush down, Mabel keeping an eye on the door, letting Polly have some fun. Somehow Salt N Pepper wrapped itself around Polly sleeping. Causing the young tadpoles to try to squirm away. Mabel just thought it was cute. Eventually, the froggy girl escaped her furry warden. Mabel walked past Polly to hug that cat-like creature. He happily and cutely licked her face.
"Awww!" Mabel hadn't been this happen since Earth. Satly started to chew on her hair. It playfully swiped at her with his paws, which Mabel happily play along with.
"Okay, that's kind of cute," Polly stated.
"I know, right?"
"Wish I knew what it was." She asked the human.
"Catterpeed?"
"Your making that up," Polly said, thinking even the human culture wouldn't believe it.
"duh!" She laughed.
She shrugged, "You seriously don't see anything wrong with how he looking at me!"
"Why not?" The human's optimism was at an all-time high.
"He is licking his lips now." Polly pointed out.
"He must just be hungry; nothing to worry about."
"Yeah must be hungry. I better go find some food." They mainly eat bugs and vegetables, but they could find something they could work with.
"You're the greatest Polly." Mabel grinned seeing Polly try to force-feed the creature some old corn, the bug thing did not seem interested in this in the slightest.
"I think I am going to dust away from him."
"Why Polly?"
"It is scary." The youngest plantar said, not wanting to deal with it.
Mabel looked at salt, who rolled onto his back. "Maybe I can tell Hop Pop I saw a creature like him in the forest and was worried it would eat me!" She decided. "Then he'll tell me what they eat!" The cat just kept being adorable. Mabel got up and went to ask the Plantar family patriarch.
"Huh, Mabel seems a bit early to be taking a break?" He asked.
"Yeah, nothing wrong with a little break." She said.
"Well, since you're here, how can I help you?"
She described Salt N Pepper perfectly.
"Well, a black bug creature with pointed ears and white stripes. Well, those are dangerous amphibivore. It's best left alone." The frog warned.
"Amohiwhat now?" This really did sounds like a Dipper thing, not a Mabel thing.
"It means it eats frogs and other races we don't care for."
"Oh, now I understand that." Mabel's eyes widen. "What else do they eat?"
"I hear rumors they eat eggs." She ran out of the house, "Must be a human thing. We can talk about it another day." Mabel was looking for the perfect eggs, she must feed her pet and protect her frog family. She used most of her tiny allowance to get those eggs.
She got a little ink on herself from this. "Oops." Hopefully, that won't cause problems later. Once home, she presented her eggs to her pet. He happily ate them, "Problem solved!" He webbed himself to her sweater. Mabel hugged him happily. The ink cover up his black spots. It just blinked at her, not caring for the ink.. "You look so different." It just tilted its head. She showed Polly and sprig.
"Aww, it looks even cuter. Wait, what is it doing?" The cat thing climbed over the walls.
"Awww, he's playing!" He reached the ceiling and webbed down toward the ground. "That's so cool!"
"Why is it coming to me?" Polly asked. going to hide behind Mabel.
"Probably just wants to play silly!"
"Why don't you do that, you're bigger." Polly reminded her housemate.
She was bellying aching with laughter, "Sure thing, this is great." Much to Polly's relief. Mabel was swinging it around. "I love him!" He gently licked its owner's face, enjoying the taste of flesh. "Awww, he loves me too!"
"MEOW." he crawled over her, getting Mabel to laugh. She hoped Hop Pop wouldn't come down. So it was up to Sprig to keep his Hop Pop distracted. Salty was hungry, so went to find the sandwich Hop Pop was making. They barely managed to stuff the cat into a bag.
"What is going on here?"
"Nothing! It's just me and my mysterious bag of secrets. Later." She said.
"Humans are so strange."
Once she was out of hearing and seeing range, "Salty, you need to be more careful!" He just lick her face in response. "Awww, I can't stay mad at you." The two were enjoying each other company so much. The cat started to get really hungry, Mabel try to appease it with some more eggs.
He yawned and went to Sprig and Mabel's room to sleep off those eggs. He wanted to play with Sprig toys. It started to climb up to the shelves, knocking everything off the shelves. Mabel realizing the mistake, went to catch all of them, wanting to protect Sprig's toys, knowing what they meant to him. It's like a real cat messing with things for no reason. Hop Pop came to investigate the noise.
"OH NO, I AM FALLING OFF THE ROOF!" Sprig lied until...Polly pushed him off the roof. Yeah, this might not have been the best lay plan that Sprig had ever made. Then again, his plan was to leap down, then Polly push him. "Ow."
Mabel barely hid salt before Hop Pop returned. It went on like that for the rest of the day. It was a long day.. salt thought it was a game as Mabel got more and more pooped. Polly noticed this, "You seem tired. You sure you're okay?"
"He's a lot more work than waddles."
"What's a waddles?" Another thing Polly didn't understand. Mable pulled out her phone and happily showed pictures. "Why is that grubhog missing two legs?"
"He's a pig, silly." She might have to look for a grubhug one day.
"So why is a pig missing two legs?"
"They only have like four."
"Your world is weird." Polly accused, making Mabel chuckle."Dinner should be ready soon."
Mabel didn't want to leave, but her stomach growled. She needed to eat. She turned to see Salt was making himself a blanket out of webs. Mabel was happy. Hoping he'd sleep during dinner.
"You two look tired. Anything happen, Mabel?"
"I'm fine, Hop Pop."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course." She lied.
"What did you do to get so tired and hungry?"
"Nothing!" She squeaked.
The house shook in response. "Oh no, an earthquake? Do we have those here?"
"None sense, Earthquake season isn't until next month, and never affects the Valley."
"Must be early?" She tried. Why couldn't he see he needed to leave well enough alone?
It shook again. "We have to investigate." He was determined to find out what was causing trouble.
"I'll do it!" This should allow her to keep her lie going until she left Amphibia if it works.
"No way it's too dangerous." Sadly for Mabel, of all her brilliant and well-thought-out plans, this was the one to fail. Mabel panicked as she watched Hop Pop go down the stairs.
They got to the room covered with webs and gross goop. Mabel saw this. "What?"
Salt fell onto Hop Pop and nearly crushed the old man with its new form and weight. She squeaked when she saw this. Her new beloved pet has evolved and turned into a giant. Its once dark black fur turn bright white except for two black lines across its back where the ink was.
"Salty, is that you?" Mabel asked. It looked at her and tilted its head.
"Wait, Salty, that's a name for a pet. Did you get a pet? If I weren't so afraid, you'd be in so much trouble, missy."
"I'm sorry! I thought he was harmless!"
"I'll talk about your punishment later if we survive." Hop Pop said as the two kids went down to see what was going on.
"Why me?" Sprig yelled out, it was like he was the universe's chew toy.
"Less whining, bro, and more running." She said, going upstairs to the kitchen. Hop Pop grabbed them and tried to get his two biological grandchildren to safety. Mabel ran the other way, grabbing all her eggs. That was enough to get Salty's attention as it licked its long sharp, powerful fangs.
She cried, knowing what she would have to do but lured it deep into the woods and far away anyway. Where she would make sure that it would never be seen again. She threw it down, "I am sorry, Sawty." She said, throwing the eggs down, making the cat go into the forest and getting lost.
Mabel cried all the way home. Polly leap and hug her. "You did it." She notice that she was crying, "There there, tell me what is wrong."
"I just missed having a pet..."
"Maybe we can find you one that is less dangerous." Polly offered.
"Thanks… maybe I'll ask Hop Pop."
"Welcome. You couldn't have known." Polly comforts her. Getting a sad smile
"Mabel, you okay?" Hop Pop asked. She sadly told him the truth.
"You know what you did was dangerous." He stated.
"I'm sorry…" She was just so upset.
"We need to have a talk, missy."
"Ok," she agreed. Sitting down.
"You know it was wrong to be a wild animal into the house like that."
"I didn't realize how dangerous it could be. I mean, my grunkle used to do stuff like that."
"I don't know who this grunkle is, but we have a hard time dealing with critters ourselves. We don't need to bring them in."
"I promise to ask first from now on." She said, having every intention of being true to her word.
"That is all I asked. I just don't want my grandkids to get hurt, that includes you." She hugged him tightly, and he gently hugged her back. Lesson learned. She would get dish duty for this, but that is a story for another day.

I mean like does Mabel have any flaws Anne lacks?
My Response: I think Mabel can be a bit more absent minded than Anne, and Anne can be more competive.
