Scrooged Nami

Chapter 3

An hour later since her old partner left, Nami Scrooge after changing to her nightdress and mobcap like bonnet, search her room a bit as she made her way to her bed.

"Spirits. Phooey." Nami Scrooge said as she climb on her bed which judging by the sounds, is filled of money...

Seriously?!

Anyway, she then, blow out the candle before close her bed curtains, "Humbug!" Then went to sleep.

Then, as the clock strikes one O'clock, two figures suddenly appear near the bed.

One of them is a brown mouse and other one is a blue cat. They're wearing white robes with yellow patterns on it.

The cat hold out the triangle and hit it few times.

Nami Scrooge muttering a bit before went back to sleep. The cat and the mouse firmly stare at Nami Scrooge before the cat pull out a mousetrap and handing it to the mouse. Once the trap is set, the mouse grab the cat's tail, giving the cat a thumb up which the cat returns before prepare for a loud wake up call.

The mouse slam the tail on the trap which afterwards, snap on it, causing the cat to scream really loud in pain.

Nami Scrooge jump in surprise before being bounce off the bed and land on the floor, "...Ouch..."

"Well, that woke you up!" The mouse said.

"We haven't got all night, you know." The Cat said.

"Wh...how can a cat and a mouse talk?!" Nami Scrooge asked.

"Not just any cat or mouse." The cat said.

"Special kind ones." The Mouse said as he leap on the cat's shoulder, "He's Tom and I'm Jerry."

"Our card, Miss Scrooge." Tom Cat said as he make a card appear out of no way before handing it to Nami Scrooge.

Nami Scrooge took the card and look at it, "Ghost of Christmas Past." She read before turn to the cat and the mouse, "You two are the spirits I was told about?"

"That's right." Jerry Mouse said, "And we're going to see your past."

"The only place I'm going, is back to bed." Nami Scrooge said as she climb back to bed, "I have no interests going anyway with ghosts. So, if you be so kind, would you two, just leave?"

"You don't know the meaning of the word; kindness." Jerry Mouse said before turn to his partner with a smirk which Tom Cat returns.

Less than a minute later, "Contact!" Tom Cat said while holding Jerry Mouse up.

Tied around his waist, is a rope with the other end under Nami Scrooge's bed cover.

"Contact!" Jerry Mouse said before both he and Tom floating up and then, went off fast.

The rope was pulling along till it starts pulling Nami Scrooge by her tied ankles, "WHOA!" Nami Scrooge scream in surprise.

Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse are flying along, pulling Nami Scrooge with them. The wind and pulling backwards, blow her nightwear up a bit, revealing her white underwear.

"What's the big idea?!" Nami Scrooge as she struggles to pull and hold down her night wear.

"Well, we need to do this the hard way." Jerry Mouse said before all three of them enters through white light.

Soon, they arrive near farm with tangerine orchard. Once they land, Nami Scrooge untie the rope on her ankles and got up, "This is kidnapping! I'm going to fund you...you..." She stop before look around, "Wait...I know this place!"

"NAMI!"

Nami Scrooge turn to see someone she haven't seen since working in the counting house, "Bell-Mere...?"

Suddenly, a 3 years old version of herself, run pass though Nami Scrooge, surprising her, and leap to Bell-Mere and hugging her who return the hug.

"Oh, sorry." Tom Cat said, "We forgot to mention that this is the shadow of the past."

"So, no one can see or hear you." Jerry Mouse said.

Just then, a little girl a bit older than Nami Scrooge's younger self, run pass them a well and join in the hug.

"...Nojiko." Nami Scrooge said, "My sister. When I was a baby, I'm been orphaned during war and Nojiko found me and carry me as best. Then, Bell-Mere in her soldier days, found us and instead of taking us to orphanage, she decided to take us to her hometown and raised us as if we were her own daughters. We been tangerine farmers since then. It was a nice place but very low profit."

"But it would seem she doesn't care." Tom Cat said as he and others follow Bell-Mere and her daughters into their house.

Nami Scrooge watches as Bell-Mere prepare dinner for Nojiko and Nami Scrooge's younger self.

"She always put us before herself or anything at all. Even work hard repairing Nojiko's worn clothes for me." Nami Scrooge said before went mad, "And that's because she couldn't build up money! It's because of her we're broke!"

Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse roll their eyes a bit, before Tom Cat says, "But the profits did came to your family eventually."

With that, the cat got hold on Nami Scrooge's hand as the mouse leap to his shoulder before they all enter in flashy world. Once the flash faded, They're now near some kind of factory.

"You know this place?" Jerry Mouse asked.

"Of course!" Nami Scrooge said, "Bell-Mere's business partner; Mr Bruce Fezziwig's tangerine juice factory!" She rush towards the window to look through, "We managed to make a little money."

Inside the factory, there is a party going on. Then, 10 years old Nami Scrooge walk through the crowd till she nears the black hair and blue eyes man named Bruce Fezziwig, "Excuse me, Mr Fezziwig, I been checking the prices of everything. Don't you think you've spending too much money?"

"Why, little Scrooge." Bruce Fezziwig started, "This is Christmas. The time of generosity. Stop worrying about it and enjoy yourself." Then he went off to meet other guests.

Just then, Nojiko arrive and gently, grab Nami's hand, "Hey, Sister! Let's join the party!"

"But, Nojiko, I can't dance!" Young Nami Scrooge said as her sister drag her to the dance floor.

"Don't worry! Neither can I!" Nojiko said.

Once they in the dance floor, Nojiko and young Nami Scrooge dancing around like crazy before they bump to Bell-Mere, knocking all three of them on the floor. They just lay, laughing before others join in.

Outside, Nami Scrooge and the spirits watching everything. Nami Scrooge sighs happily, "I remember how much I cherished my family."

Suddenly, the big wind blow hard as the scenery starts changing.

"As few years gone by, you started to cherish something else." Tom Cat said as the scenery complete changed.

Nami Scrooge look around, "It...it's the counting house!"

"9172." Nami Scrooge and the spirits turn to see her 15 years old version, counting lots of money, "9173. 9174. 9175. 91-"

"Nami!" Bell-Mere said as she and Nojiko come near.

"What is it?" Young Nami Scrooge asked, "I'm busy."

"You're always busy!" Nojiko said, "You never came for Easter. You never came for Halloween, you never came for Christmas and you even missed our Birthdays! Ever since you took this apprenticeship under that Blackfire Marley and trained with Starfire Marley, you been neglecting us."

Young Nami Scrooge with annoying face, is playing with money as Bell-Mere talks.

"So, young lady," Bell-Mere started, "You got something to say?"

"As the matter of fact, I do." Young Nami Scrooge said as she grab the paper on the table.

Bell-Mere and Nojiko were waiting for young Nami Scrooge has to say...

"You failed to pay your mortgage for the last time Bell-Mere." Young Nami Scrooge said before hold and unroll the paper, "Therefor, I'm foreclosing your PROPERTY!"

Bell-Mere and Nojiko are now shock at this inform.

"Wh...what do you mean?" Bell-Mere asked.

"Do I need to spell it out for you?" Young Nami Scrooge asked, "Since you didn't pay the mortgage, you lost your place. Your house, your land, you lost everything due for fail payment."

"B...But Nami, where would we suppose to live?" Nojiko asked.

Young Nami Scrooge went to thinking post, "...Don't know. Don't care. How's that?"

Bell-Mere could not believe what her daughter just said, "Nami, you can't just..." Before she could finish, the polices which young Nami had prepared, grab her arms along with Nojiko's arms.

Young Nami Scrooge lean towards her mother, "Because you didn't pay your debt, you lost everything you own. Therefor, you go bye-bye. BYE-BYE!"

"NAMI, YOU UNGREATFUL BRAT!" Bell-Mere yelled a she and Nojiko are being dag away.

"NAMI, WE'RE FAMILY! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO US!" Nojiko said before leaving the counting house.

"Family?" Young Nami Scrooge said before hugging all the money, "These are my TRUE family!" Then, she grab handful of money and starts kissing a lot on them.

Meanwhile, Nami Scrooge was watching what her younger self had done and feel a bit guilt.

"You considered the soulless cash as family, instead the heartful people." Jerry Mouse said.

Then Tom Cat then point at the window which is now like a T.V, showing Bell-Mere and Nojiko packing to leave their home, "And you kicked them out of their house and farm. Without plans for them or without a care."

Once ready, the angered Nojiko and heartbroken Bell-Mere starts rolling their wagon away.

"Please, Spirits?!" Nami Scrooge asked, "I don't want to see any more of these memories. Take me home."

"Know this, Miss Scrooge." Tom Cat started as the scenery fading into blackness.

"You made those memoires yourself." Jerry Mouse finished.

The mouse's voice echo through darkness...
