Twins Missing in Dual Worlds chapter 24: Lessons learned.

It was time for the Annual Crop Convention, and Hopediah Plantar needed to find someone to take care of his wild family. "Now kids, I want you to be on your best behavior for the daycare attendant." He told the three they were a minute or so away so if he had anything to say, he might as well get it out of the way here and now

"Why can't we stay home alone?" Mabel felt she was mature enough to be home alone again, and could say that with a straight face.

"Look. I'm sorry, okay? But I have to go to the Annual Crop Convention. It's a long way away, and I can't leave you kids on the farm alone for the weekend. You kids need supervision. Why, sometimes it feels like we have at least two wacky adventures a week!" He pointed out.

"But you left me alone when you guys went camping!" She tries to use the Power of Continuity on him. It would give her all power, it only had one weakness.

"And we had to get all those snakes out of the house." He reminded her of when they returned to the house. The Power of Continuity™ is inconsequential to the Power of Retcons™.

"Got you there." Polly pointed out.

"Point to hop pop." Mabel conceded to this.

As they got there they saw a new figure appear in what looked like teacher robes. "Greetings, I am Tritonio Espada, the daycare instructor."

"Huh, I thought Briar and Iris Bogwater ran this place." Hop Pop was surprised by this.

"The Bogwaters retired last year and sold their business to me." He said looking sketchy with how his eyes jitter.

"Well, in that case, I'm Hopediah Plantar. This here is Sprig, Polly, and Mabel." The kids weren't impressed as they got down to the ground from Bessie's shell. "Don't let Mabel's large size fool ya, she is also a child."

"I am not large!" Mabel did not like being called things that suggested she wasn't cute.

"Mabel, we have been over this." Hop Pop worried he would have to do so again. He didn't have time for this.

"Ah, yes. I shall educate them! Teach them true discipline!" he swore.

"Oh. I like the cut of your jib, Mr. Tray-tony. Did I say that right?" Hop Pop asked, not used to the Spanish accent he had in this alien world.

"Absolutely not." The teacher said.

"Pss Mabel five Cooper's says we can get him to run out crying before Hop Pops comes back," Polly said, she and Sprig had run off her fair share of babysitters and teachers before and didn't realize why this would be different.

Mabel laughed. "Let's do it." This causes Mabel to remember her school teachers.

"Mabel put that down." Ms. Frizzle told her, as she saw her student juggling the pet hamster.

"No way it's so cute!" She said, unaware she was scaring it.

"Yes, but the pet hamster isn't for juggling."

"But he loves it." She said.

"Trust me he does not." The teacher said. The hamster was unconscious. "Put him back."

"Never!" Mabel ran off with it, to the class and teacher's annoyance...

"This is really my life."

At PE:

Mabel was knitting in the sports supply room at school, her whole class was happily surprised.

"Pines, what are you doing?" Her gym teacher Shōta Aizawa asked.

"You'll see me in gym class today!" She hummed.

"That brat is going to drive me into an early grave."

The class came and Mabel unveiled what she had done to the dodgeballs.

Dipper then spoke, "Hey Mabel why did you do this."

"Because they look cool." She said.

They were all covered in cloth like they had sweaters on them. "How big of an allowance do you have, kid?"

"I found this yarn in a dumpster."

"That might be a health hazard, if these kids get the plague a third time I'm out of a job." He said this wasn't a good school.

"Don't worry I cleaned it."

Dipper then asked, "With what?"

Mabel then asked, "Anyways."

"Really?" He asked.

"Yup!" Popping the P.

"This is my life. Why do I put up with you?"

Mabel was unphased by this.

The other kids happily threw them at each other and since they were heavier hit harder.

"Oh no. This is the opposite of what I wanted!"

"Ow the back of my head." Dipper cried out.

In-home Ed.

Her Home Ed teacher Samuel Oak was shaking his head at Mabel's latest antic. She was making a wooden version of herself and Dipper. "Mabel, why are you doing this?"

"I am definitely not making these to go to class in my place." She said, making a sweater for Wood Mabel. Dipper was getting flashbacks from the Northwest party at this. "You're just mad I won't put my baby in one of these ugly uniforms."

Marcy was outside the door with Sasha, taking notes, guessing there might be three more wooden students for Saint James Middle School for them to deal with.

"I won't get into a debate about the school uniform with you Miss Pines. Please get rid of them before I give you detention." He said.

Mabel pouted, declaring vengeance.

Back at the Present:

Mabel didn't like being here.

"Well, kids, looks like you're in good hands here with Mr. Tritonio. Hyah! Crop Con, here I come!" Leave with Bessie.

Once Hop Pop was out of hearing range, "Finally. It is just us now. So let us cast aside these illusions, yes?" he yanked his robes off to show an outfit from that movie Dipper liked to watch. "Ah!"

"Woah! What's going on?" Mabel was impressed by the show.

"Sorry for the deception child, but this is no mere daycare. This is a Combat Crash Course for kids." the Robin Hood-looking figure said.

"Go on!" Polly's eyes were wide at this.

"Tell me!" Sprig and his sister were both so excited. This got Mabel's attention.

"Parents believe their kids must be protected. I disagree!" He broke a tree branch and held it like a sword, before catching it in his hand. "Teach them to fight back. Danger lurks around every corner of Amphibia. Stay on your toes! Trust no one! Ah! Look over there a distraction!" he said pointing behind Sprig.

He turns around, "Who, what, where, when, and why?"

"I said trust no one!" Whack him with a stick enough to smart Sprig up but not really hurt, "Now, follow me, and we will begin the next lesson."

"Ow, let's do it again." He said with a laugh, Sprig was unaffected by the strike.

"I suddenly want to learn," Polly said.

"This is way better than a regular daycare," Mabel said.

Into the tower

"Your next lesson is to pick your weapon. Find one that resonates with you." Tritonio said.

"My entire life has led me to this moment." She leaps over to some blue mushrooms with skulls on them, "What do these do?" She asked so happy.

"Ah, the noble boom shroom. Small, unassuming, but in the right hands..." he then pressed a button, "Explosive." Throwing it safely in the air.

"I think I'm in love." She said with hearts in her eyes while looking at the boom shrooms.

He laughed, "Made just for you, okay who is next? No wrong answers."

"Hey, look at these big forks." Sprig said, holding the ancient weapon. This was only to end in good.

"Haha, excellent choice Sprig." The teacher compliments the young frog boy.

"Got any ranged weapons?" Mabel prefers to keep her distance if she ever has to fight or use her fist.

"Try the boomerang, a simple design, very few weapons can match it for its complexity to master." Might be complicated but seems like something she would like to try out.

"Oh, I got this!" She threw it, she didn't see any way this could go wrong for her. No siree. It came back and bopped her on the forehead.

"What did I tell ya?" The newt asked.

She rubbed her forehead, and it throbbed slightly, "I can do it!"

Polly realized this would take a while. "So, what's the next lesson?"

The teacher took them to a tire obstacle course. Mabel thought they were tires, they did kind of look like bean bags with the middle point hollow out.

"Easy peasie!" Mabel was determined to show off what she got to her new teacher and fellow students.

The two frogs leap ahead, to Triotonio's praise. Mabel made a run for it. But her legs were too short and she couldn't jump very high by the standards of even standard frogs. Stupid human legs, why can't they give her superhuman powers to keep up?

"No, no Mabel, lift your knees as you run." He instructed her, he was pushing her beyond what she was currently capable of.

Mabel thought for a second and decided to listen to him. Sure enough, when she did it was easier. He saw potential in her, she just needed someone to push her in the right direction. She might be the best leader of the three for what he has to plan. She seems to have the determination, but not the discipline to use it properly.

Mabel kept trying to brute strength to get through every task. Not taking any time to think. That will need to be corrected if the plan is to get off the ground.

"Next lesson to the monkey bars!" He declared to the Plantar's kids. This would be to make sure to guide Mabel in the direction of her destiny.

"I rule at those!" Something that Mabel was sure she could be good at.

"I will destroy you, try to keep up dumb dumb." The tadpole said, a fire burning in her young eyes. The room suddenly felt a little warmer somehow.

"Oh no you don't." The young pink frog started to stick his tongue out and swung from one bar to another, while his sister jumped to the top and leaped from one bar to another. Even though she was doing good for a human she couldn't keep up with the frog's agility. She did wonder if she would end up holding them back for the trip.

"Faster Mabel." Tritonio said, "Reach for every other bar if you have to speed up." The instructions were simple.

"My arms aren't that long!" It was one of the few negative side effects of being a cute human, tiny arms. She was the T rex of her time.

"This is going to be a long training sequence." The sword master said.

"Urg!" She was failing, she wanted to prove she was good enough for this.

"Try again." He said, clapping his hands together.

She tried what he said, might as well try. She did well for what her tiny arms could do. Afterward, she was a little tired.

"Now to the next lesson, the blind travels." He said.

"Wait what now?" Mabel was confused by the name.

"To the maze." The teacher changes his wording for the human.

"OH, that makes way more," Polly said.

Sprig then wonders, "Why is it called that?"

"I don't know, it's probably just his sense of style." She said, knowing she had her sense.

"I like him." Sprig said, actually enjoying the training today.

"I think he's great." She said.

Tritonio leads him to what looks to be a regular hallway.

"That doesn't seem so hard..." He took a step and all the lights in the hallway turned off at once.

"Did he forget to pay the electric bill?" She asked, not noticing how it was connected to the floor. Pretty clever working for Amphibia.

"I am just going for a simple walk," Tritonio said, walking up a flight of stairs right above the maze.

"Quick turn on the lights!" Mabel said, unaware of what the purpose of this test was.

"Ow, ow," Polly said, bumping into one wall, and when she turned left another, she must have ended up in a corner.

"Just enjoying the view of the glass ceiling above the maze." He said, giving a hint of what they should do. Mabel didn't understand the clue.

"What is this squishy thing I found?" He asked, squeezing something soft and malleable. "Could it be a clue? Maybe it can help us out?" He asked, unaware of what exactly he was touching.

"I am just going to enjoy the view of the maze from above." The newt is not giving up trying to get them to learn.

"That's my face dummy!" She chuckled. "Now what was it Dipper always says to do in a maze… keep a hand on the left wall!"

He rubbed his temples, "I wonder if any of my students would enjoy the maze from the above, the lightning is great here." He said, losing subtly with every second.

Polly was the only one to notice the hint, "Wait for Mabel, I think Tritonio is trying to tell us something."

"No way! We got this. Onward bound!" The human declares.

"Ow." She cried out as Mabel tripped over her. "Okay let's try things the teacher way."

She just pouted not like they could see her do so. "Come along." He said, as he and his sister grabbed Mabel's legs and dragged her out as they were out the lights went back on.

"Oh, now I see it. We just have to look at the maze from up here and look down." Sprig pointed out.

"Oh, this makes way more sense." Polly pointed out.

"They can be taught." Tritonio is proud of her.

Mabel was embarrassed that she hadn't noticed.

"It's okay, I didn't notice either." Polly was comforting her best friend.

"Remembers kids you sometimes have to look at things a different way." He said.

"I guess that's a good point." She said she wasn't smart enough to figure it out on her own. It was so obvious. "Come on! Next task!" She challenged the teacher. She wanted to forget that bit.

"Why Mabel, you still haven't gotten to the other side of the maze." He said, to Mabel's embarrassment. She felt she was doing fine beforehand.

"That stupid maze was too long!" Mabel complained.

"I have done longer." Sprig said.

"Many sleepless nights at the Bogswater maze." Polly shivered at the thought.

"Excellent, the next lesson is about awareness of your environment," Tritonio warned.

"Awareness smartness," she laughed, she survived Bill Cipher what could he possibly teach her? She knew deep down everything would turn out just fine.

"Let's do it." Sprig declared.

"Last one there is a smelly spider egg." The two rush off as Tritonio is already there waiting for Mabel.

This causes Mabel to be upset, she wasn't a smelly spider egg.

"Okay, this one requires a bit more explanation. This is a special maze, no lights, you just have to figure out how to go from one end to another." Tritonio wondered how long this would take for them.

"Too easy!" She ran forward.

The panels in her way move in such a way as to bring her back to where she started.

"What?" Mabel ran in again. She got bop on the nose by a panel. "Urg this is so stupid!"

"I want to try it." Sprig said, "OW, OW, OW, OW, OW." He said.

"Let's go over it!" Mabel tried to climb it. That didn't work either, just spinning around. She was not aware why this was so hard for her.

"Patience and awareness will be the best way out." He instructed her.

"Done." Sprig said, he figured it out rather quickly.

"What? How?" Mabel was absolutely flabbergasted by this.

"I just kept moving until the panels took me to where I wanted."

"I kept moving too!" Mabel would copy him.

"Did you make sure to see what ways the panels move before pushing forward?" Sprig asked.

"Oh…" Mabel was standoffish at this.

"Don't worry Polly hasn't figured it out either. I guess that makes me the smartest of the Plantar's children. I must be the Alpha Plantar, Alpha Plantar, Alpha Plantar." He Chant.

"Alpha Plantar." Tritonio said, getting Mabel to look at him funny, "What a form of encouragement for you."

"Oh, it is on!" Mabel tries to go through the maze. She just had to find a panel turn on the way to the exit. She wound up trying them all. She did get out before Polly.

"You people and your legs, I'm not jealous." They laughed at the baby frog girl.

She pouted, crossing her tiny arms.

"Awww she's like an angry marble!" The sweater enthusiasts said, thinking Polly was so adorable.

"You're a marble." Polly pointed her tiny stubby left flipper at Mabel, sadly that was the best she had.

Mabel picked her up and then tried to bounce her.

"Crazy lady!" The angry marble said.

"Thank you," Mabel said keeping a smile the whole time.

"Aww so adorable." The brother said.

They eventually remember they are supposed to be learning so when to the next lesson, it was like that for the rest of the day. Polly and Sprig hit the hay early, and Sprig learned you really shouldn't do that literally with cheap Hay, Mabel was working on another sweater all by herself.

"Greeting Mabel, may I talk with you." The teacher said in a soft voice.

"I don't see why not." She said, focusing on the task at hand.

"I noticed how headstrong you are, especially about how you do things. A bit inflexible."

"Thank you."

"May I ask why you're so against trying a different approach to things?" Since he kinda leads her down the best and easiest route.

"Oh, I don't need a new way," she said dismissively.

"Again I asked, why do you believe that?" This could be a problem for him in a few days if he is not careful.

"Because it always works itself out for me." She said, her knitting slowing down as they talked.

"And if it doesn't just fix itself?"

"I used to have a Dipper to help…"

"Who is this Dipper?" He asked.

"He's my twin brother. We were always together... until I got teleported here. Now I'm all alone." She said, her voice revealing that she was a bit lonely here.

"Is that why you seem steadfast in never changing your approach," Tritonio said.

"I guess it is."

"I worry it might be holding you back from being the best version of yourself."

"What? No way! I'm always my best self."

"You can always improve, and experience changes, resisting change is not healthy my dear."

"But I hate change. I want things to stay the same!"

"Umm Polly, mentioned how you're from another world is that right?"

"Ya. I'm from another world. I wound up stuck here."

"So you're in a place by definition where nothing is the same."

"And I hate it." Would she have to leave the Plantar the same way Dipper would leave her for some nerd program and never return?

"Change can be scary, trust me I know." He said, with some sense of sadness in her voice.

"You do?" She asked surprised.

"You don't leave Newtopia to the Valley without getting used to change."

"Why did you leave?" The way Maddie talked about it, made it seem to be Heaven on Earth-err on Amphibia.

"IT wasn't a place for me, they talk about its greatness but it is only so good for those who happen to be on top, the rest of us have to settle. I came here for a better chance." Sadness could be heard.

"And is it really?"

"I say so, I got to buy this school, and teach young minds." He said ruffling her hair.

"What made you become a teacher?" She said blowing some hair that got in her face.

"I felt that it was a path that could help me lead new minds." He said, "Mabel, I want to show you something."

"Ok," she put her knitting stuff down.

He picked up a dart and expertly tossed it at a bullseye on the wall, "Just because you think you found one way to accomplish a task." He then deliberately threw it behind the two of them, causing it to bounce off a beam, off the wall, off a pot, and landed right next to the first dart. "Doesn't mean another path isn't available."

"But but…" Mabel wasn't entirely sure why she was arguing with him at this moment.

"Just think about what I said." He said, "There are clean pillows in the downstairs closet if you need one."

"But trying to be different. Doesn't that mean letting go of the past? Letting go…"

"Going forward does not mean losing them." He said, walking away after that.

She decided to go to bed. Thinking about everything.

In the morning Polly jumps on Mabel's stomach, "Mabel time for class!"

"Eep I'm up! I'm up!" Laughing.

"Tritonio got choco bug pancakes." Sprig said.

"Epic!" She ran over. They were pretty large, about twice the size of hop pop."

"These look awesome!" Mabel said.

"It's a new topic recipe." He said.

"Can you show me how?" Mabel asked, while her friends happily ate.

"In time, we got more training to do."

"Let's do it!" Mabel's fist raised, way more pumped than she was yesterday.

"Good, I am going to have you learn how to master your weapons until they become a part of you."

"Like literally or figuratively?"

"Figuratively, no one here is into body horror." He said, sharing the author's sentiment.

"Good. I think the other author would run and hide." Mabel said to the confusion of everyone.

"I think they gone crazy in Sprig," Polly said to her bro.

"As if there is any doubt." They then went to the training hall. Mabel went with them. He got training dummies for each of them.

"These guys would look better in nice sweaters." She said putting the training dummies in some.

Polly then said, "You do realize we will be breaking the dummies and cutting them."

"Why are you looking at me when you say that?" Sprig said, afraid for his life.

"Well, maybe the sweaters would make them feel better!"

"Umm, Polly is going to blow those up, you know that right?" Sprig said as he saw Polly juggling boom-shrooms.

"Awww Polly, do ya have to?"

"Yes," Polly said, plainly.

Mabel whined.

"Hey, maybe these forks can be used to make sweaters." Sprig said, holding up the sais.

"Only one way to find out!" Mabel said.

"Train now, knitting later." Tritonio reminds them where they were.

"Right right. So what are we doing?" Mabel asked, taking the lead.

"I put weapons in the dummy's arms your job is to disarm them with your weapons." Mabel tried to do as Tritonio explained, And then the boomerang went to her.

"Oh ya!" Mabel said out loud.

"Excellent, my goal is to see how fast you can do that with multiple opponents." The teacher laughed.

"How do I even start with that?"

"You have to really put effort into your throw."

She went to just wing it. But then... "Can you show me?"

"I feel that an example would be best." He said he had training in all these weapons for various reasons. Mabel watched and learned to take his advice to heart. He shows her that it should be released overhand when it reaches her eye level. Mabel decided to give it a try and succeeded. He said there were two holds of the pinch where they were lower than the other called the pinch hold, and the second one called the cradle grip which had a pointer on the edge of the boomerang.

"This Boomerang is crazy," Mabel said, enjoying it.

Polly then added, "It's a perfect weapon for you."

"You really think so?"

"Yes, a crazy weapon for a crazy lady," Polly said.

"You have to admit you kinda walk into that one." Sprig said.

"Trill!" Mabel said.

"You mean troll?" Polly corrected.

"Children children this is fun and all, maybe a philosophy approach would work." The only person in the room who knew what philosophy meant said.

"Ya! What he says!" Mabel said enthusiastically.

"Imagine the weapon as your will, your desire turn physical, that will be how you will affect the world for your purposes." He said, giving an example of cutting an apple with his sword.

"Got it. Like a game controller." Mabel said.

"I have no idea what that is." Not used to human concepts.

"Don't worry about it," Polly said, figuring best not to explain all the weird stuff that comes out of Mabel's mouth. He just shrugs his shoulders. Mabel kept up practicing.

"You're getting there Mabel."

"You too Polly!"

Sprig was stabbing a dummy. Mabel saw this, thinking it was impressive that Sprig was pretty talented at this. "Hey good job pinkie pie."

"Look, a dummy killing a mannequin," Polly said.

"Heh. Nice one!"

"I wonder what they're talking about?" Sprig wondered, not realizing they were talking about him.

"Just talking about stupid things." She waved him off.

"You do that a lot." He said.

"Yes. Yes, I do."

"Dodge." He said giving instructions with a fake sword.

Mabel jumped to dodge the attack.

(Montage)

"Parry." He said. Mabel tried to obey him. "Get a tighter grip when you are using it for melee."

Different techniques.

"Polly higher jump." He instructed.

Polly tried using her tail to propel herself and miraculously this works. "Take that universe! Woo woo!"

More learning

"Misdirection."

Sprig tried to fake a left jab and then go for a right hook on a dummy. "Excellent form, really sell it," Tritonio said. Sprig did a dance. "Excellent, you will be able to trick the entire world."

"Boo-ya!"

Education:

"Math. If a train is going 30 miles an hour and takes a second per mile to stop, how long ahead must you stop it to get it to come to a halt."

"One and. A Half miles?" Polly tried.

"Thirty seconds."

"Right, Sprig." Tritonio praise.

"It's not my fault I haven't learned numbers yet!" Polly defended herself.

"Okay, now is the time for a test to see how much you learn from everything I taught you." He said to get their attention.

"What kind of test?" Mabel asked.

"Since Tomorrow is our last day together. So I put together an exercise to test all the skills you've learned. I have rented a train, inside of which, I have hidden a fake priceless ruby. Also, I have hired actors to portray guards who will stop at nothing to keep the ruby safe. You must retrieve it using the wisdom and skills I have taught you. Now, study these plans. Become one with the plans. Eat the plans." he said licking the paper and hitting it before handing the rest to them. "Eh, up! We leave at dawn!"

"Does it look like we are robbing a real train to anyone else?" Sprig asked since their teacher was out of hearing range.

"What, no way!" Mabel said.

"You sure?" Polly asked, her eyebrows raised high.

"Why would he do that silly?" Mabel trusted him.

Polly thought about it, "How do you possibly argue with that? Seriously, I would love to know."

"I know right," Mabel said.

"Yeah, Tritonio seems trustworthy." Sprig changes his mind thanks to Mabel.

"And he taught us how to break stuff!" Mabel reminds them.

"Yes, because we did not know how to do that before." Polly's sarcasm was plain as day.

"Now we know how to do it better than Evah," Mabel said.

They plan all night, using adrenaline to oversleep that night. They were all so excited. They all weapon up.

Mabel was determined to succeed. They got the tools needed.

Tritonio was ready, "Remember the success or failure of your test is up to you. I'll be watching from the forest." He said, acting suspicious.

"Come on team!" Mabel said.

"I'll start, stay hidden until I give you the signal." Sprig said

"Yes. Just remember you're pretending your leg is injured." Mabel taking the lead.

"Wait, we don't actually break his legs?" Polly asked disappointed.

"No silly."

"Oh." The girls went to the bushes to hide in.

Sprig manages to get the conductor to stop the train, "Please, governor, I'm a poor orphan boy who done and twisted his wee ankle on these here train tracks." The conductor called the guards to help, the toad guard suggested this was normal for them. Mabel and Polly snuck in behind him, and one of the guards got wise to the deception. Sprig leaps at this causing the toads to trip over themselves with his tongue. They then turn on the train. "Acting is fun."

"I can see why Hop Pop likes it," Mabel said.

"There seems to be a lock for the Ruby I got this." She said pulling out her boomshrooms. She pulls out boom-shrooms, and happily applies them until the door gets open.

"Lock and load!" Mabel said, covering up her eyes, protecting her peepers from the explosion. They got to the gem. Sprig thought it was pretty, it was shaped like a butterfly. "That's pretty realistic for just a training prop."

"Nothing but the best for my students." A voice said, from the opening they made. It was Tritonio.

"Aww, thanks, man." Mabel grinned. "You know I can totally make a crown or something for the next group. A little something to remember me by."

"I will remember that, toss me the Ruby."

"Here you go," Sprig said happily doing so.

"Now students, I want you to remember the first lesson I taught you was?"

"I don't remember!" Mabel looks upset for doing so.

"I do 'trust no one'," Sprig said proudly.

"Exactly." He said slamming the door show and using a spare weapon to bare the only door.

"Ooooh awesome!" Mabel cheered. "This must be phase two! Teaching us what to do if we ever get double-crossed!" This got Polly to face palmed.

"No, I think this is for real," Polly said

"I'm with Polly on this one." He said.

"I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt."

"We need to get out of here." She said, annoyed by Mabel.

"Let's a go!" She agreed.

"Polly, would you kindly." Sprig said.

She happily threw her explosive at the door. The door blew open with ease, making a small dust cloud.

"Let's rush out." Sprig yelled. Mabel decided to take the lead. Polly was next to her.

" I have to say, even I am impressed." He said readying his sword, "Voila."

"Oh, you really are going all out for this training! Let's do this!" She got ready.

Polly and Sprig were thinking the other one was no longer the dumbest Plantar. "Ah ah ah ah." She said trying to nunchuck him, he managed to use his sword to swing her around at Sprig. Mabel threw the boomerang at him. He bounces it off the sword, sending it back.

Mabel ran to retrieve it.

Sprig use his tongue to bring it closer to her.

"Interesting technique." Tritonio compliment.

"Thanks. Try to keep moving everyone." Mabel instructed.

Sprig tries to get the leap at him, but he easily dodges him. Mabel went from behind.

He used his tail to whack her in the stomach. "Nice try."

"Oh it was," she pulled the rope she'd tied to his tail when hit. Tritonio cut himself free and kicked Polly back into Sprig.

"Come on everyone. We have to win." Mabel declares.

"No need to tell me twice," Polly said, fire in her eyes. Sprig felt the same.

Mabel got the others to distract him while she threw her boomerang then she started making annoying sounds to draw him to her.

He tries to focus on her, leaving himself vulnerable.

"Hey, try what's green and blue and has a bump?"

"What, are you…?" He asked, swinging mid-sentence.

She ducked, allowing the boomerang she threw earlier to smack him right in the head.

He was knocked off the platform.

"Sprig, catch him and tie him up!" Mabel said thinking it was part of the game.

He happily did so happy she was seeing reason.

Mabel jumped down. "So how did we teach?"

"I say you did beyond my expectations."

Mabel beamed at this. "See guys? I knew we could do it!"

"We probably should go back to the daycare," Polly said.

"Yup! Ok Sprig you can untie him now."

"Yeah, I'll do that." He said. Sprig so was not going to do that very thing.

Polly leads her away from the boys. They made their way back.

Sprig made sure the proper authorities got him. This confused Mabel.

"Off we don't want to have Hop Pop looking for us." Sprig said.

"Ok! Let's go!"

She pushes Mabel along.

Mabel hung out with the others until Hop Pop returned to pick them up. She thought she did pretty well, maybe she could do that good in her human school. If only she didn't have to wear that darn uniform.

"Hey, kids." He said a bit dirty, and clearly tired.

"Hey! How was it?" Mabel asked excitedly.
