May sat on the cold, stone floor, turning a weathered skull over in her hands. Her brow furrowed in concentration, her fingers tracing the delicate lines and cracks. The flickering firelight cast eerie shadows across its surface, making the hollow eye sockets seem almost alive. Ash glanced over at her, concern etched on his face.
"What piece of this puzzle do you hold?" she murmured, more to herself than to anyone else. Glaceon, perched nearby, tilted her head.
"Looks pretty creepy," she commented, her voice carrying a mixture of curiosity and unease.
"Any skull always is," May replied with a sigh. She could sense a lingering power within the bone. Whoever—or whatever—this belonged to had a deep connection to Kyurem. She could feel it in her gut as she studied the skull again. "It doesn't really look like anyone from the mural..."
"No, but it's badly degraded enough that it still could be." Gary, peering over her shoulder, shrugged.
"I don't know what to think." Ash shook his head, uncertainty clouding his features.
"There has to be someone somewhere that can give us answers," May said, her voice tinged with frustration. Ash stood up, stretching.
"Well, we won't get anywhere hanging around here all week..."
"Unfortunately, we didn't find a new town to investigate," May said, her tone resigned.
"We did see a Dragon heading in a specific direction." Dawn reminded them.
"True..." May nodded slowly, considering. "It's all we have, I guess."
"That's something." Ash smiled, the hint of a plan forming in his eyes.
"Let's give it a shot," May agreed, determination hardening her voice.
"I'm in." Janine stepped forward.
"Me too," Gary added.
"Tomorrow?" Dawn suggested.
"We'll lose the trail if we wait too long," May warned.
"That ship sailed a long time ago. Not to mention choosing to come back here over going immediately." Dawn countered. May looked at her, understanding but firm.
"We needed to regroup..."
"Come on May." Ash put a hand on her shoulder. "No use going out now. It's already dark."
"Alright," May conceded, weariness creeping into her voice. Ash nodded and sat down next to her, their shoulders touching. He took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. She leaned her head on his shoulder, finding comfort in his presence.
"I love you," he whispered.
"I love you more," she responded, a smile playing on her lips.
"I love you most," he countered with a grin. She pecked his lips.
"Not a chance..."
"Heh..." He chuckled softly, pulling her closer. They cuddled in silence, the warmth of their closeness warding off the chill of the night. May closed her eyes, the day's exhaustion catching up with her. Ash followed her lead, his breathing steadying as sleep claimed him. Across the room, Gary and Janine watched the scene unfold. Gary chuckled quietly.
"Shush," Janine whispered.
"You think it's cute too. Admit it," Gary teased, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"We're not practicing," Janine retorted, though a smile tugged at her lips.
"Never said we were," Gary smirked.
"Shut it," she said, giving him a playful shove. Gary laughed, and Dawn, unable to contain her amusement, giggled softly. As the fire crackled and the stars twinkled outside, the group settled into an uneasy sleep, each dreaming of the mysteries and dangers that awaited them with the dawn.
The next morning arrived with a gentle stillness, the first rays of sunlight filtering through the trees and casting a soft glow on the camp. Pikachu yawned, stretching his tiny limbs before glancing around. The rest of the group was still fast asleep, scattered around the dying embers of the campfire. May slowly opened her eyes, the light stirring her from her slumber. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. Pikachu noticed her movement and trotted over, his ears perked up in curiosity.
"Hi, Pikachu," May greeted, her voice a sleepy whisper as she glanced at the small yellow Pokémon.
"Hey," Pikachu replied, nuzzling her hand affectionately. She smiled softly, stroking his chin in response. "Aahh…"
"You the only one up?"
"Think so." Pikachu nodded. May giggled at the blissful expression on his face.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
"Refreshed," Pikachu said with a contented smile.
"Glad to hear it," May said, continuing to pet him. Pikachu's eyes half-closed in bliss as she scratched behind his ears.
"You have soft hands. I see why Glaceon likes your pets," Pikachu remarked, a hint of playfulness in his tone.
"Thanks," May chuckled.
"How are you feeling?"
"Calmer at least..." she admitted, feeling a bit more at ease in the tranquil morning.
"That's good," Pikachu said, his voice reassuring.
"About you and Glaceon? How are things going for you two?" May teased, a knowing smile playing on her lips.
"Oh." Pikachu's blush deepened. May giggled at his bashfulness. "I mean... she's cute and all..." Pikachu admitted, his voice trailing off shyly.
"Good of you to notice," May said with a laugh.
"Heh…" Pikachu smiled, embarrassed but happy.
"She's a lot like you," Pikachu continued, looking up at May.
"Well, I hope that's an okay thing," May said, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
"The jury's out so far..." Pikachu said, trying to hide his embarrassment. May laughed again, the sound light and joyful in the morning air. She stroked Pikachu's ear, eliciting a soft "Ah..." from him as he leaned into her touch.
"You're adorable," May said, giggling. Pikachu snuggled up to her, enjoying the warmth and affection. May smiled softly, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She kissed his head gently, and Pikachu cooed in response, a contented sound that made her heart swell with affection. May chuckled softly, her gaze drifting over to Ash, who was sleeping peacefully beside her. She leaned down and kissed him gently, her lips brushing against his. Ash stirred, a soft sound escaping his lips.
"Mm..."
"Good morning, honey," May whispered, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"Good morning..." Ash mumbled, slowly opening his eyes.
"I love you," May said, resting her hand against his chest.
"I love you too," Ash replied, blushing softly.
"Did you sleep well?" May asked, her hand gently caressing his cheek.
"Better than expected, anyway," Ash admitted, turning redder under her touch.
"I'm glad," May said, her smile widening as she watched his eyes. They stared into each other's eyes, the world around them fading away. "Gosh, I just love you so much..."
"You feeling okay?" Ash asked, concern flickering in his eyes. May nodded and rested her forehead against his.
"Has it ever been unusual for me to just take time to love you...?" she teased.
"N-no..." Ash stammered, a blush creeping up his cheeks. May leaned in and gave him a tender, loving kiss. Ash responded softly, their lips moving in harmony. May moaned softly, her hand cradling his cheek as she deepened the kiss. Ash wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer, their moans mingling in the quiet morning. Slowly, May pulled away, both of them panting softly. She rested her head in the crook of his neck.
"Thank you...for always being in my corner..."
"...Yeah...always will," Ash said, his voice a soft promise. May giggled softly, a smile playing on her lips.
"Does that mean you're up for chasing a dragon today...?" Ash nodded, determination replacing the earlier sleepiness. "That's my Aura Boy..." May teased.
"Heh..." Ash chuckled, his smile growing. May's eyes twinkled with mischief.
"In the meantime…we could always go have some fun ourselves while everyone else is still sleeping..."
"Maaaaay..." Ash blushed deeply.
"Yes, my love?" she asked, smiling innocently.
"Is that really something that you want to chance?" Ash asked, his blush intensifying. May shrugged playfully.
"What's life without a little risk?"
"That's all you ever do," Ash said with a sigh, sweatdropping at her adventurous spirit.
"I won't argue that," May admitted, kissing his cheek. "I just love my husband..."
"Heh..." Ash laughed softly, pulling her closer.
"So I guess if cuddling is more your speed for now..." May teased, snuggling into his embrace.
"Maaaay..." Ash said, exasperation mixing with affection.
"I want to take advantage of a rare quiet moment. Sue me," May said with a giggle.
"Heh..." Ash sighed, smiling down at her. May snuggled closer.
"So I'm gonna stay right here until we're ready to go..."
"Alright, alright. I'll humor you," Ash said, relenting with a smile.
"Yay," May cheered softly, her smile radiant. Ash sighed again, a contented smile on his face.
"Come on. We're going to have your fun," he announced, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Really? I thought for sure you'd opt for cuddling," May said, blinking in surprise. Ash wrapped his arms around her teasingly.
"If you prefer."
"Surprised does not mean no," May said, getting up and yanking him outside the cave.
"Whoa!" Ash exclaimed, laughing as she pulled him into the fresh morning air. May led Ash over to a secluded spot behind some overgrown bushes, her heart pounding with excitement. Ash followed, his face flushed a deep red, but his eyes filled with anticipation. Once they were hidden from view, May didn't waste a second. She pulled him close and kissed him hungrily, her lips demanding and passionate. Ash's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly melted into the kiss, a moan escaping his lips. May moaned back, the sound vibrating through their kiss. Ash responded in kind, his hands finding their way to her hips and gripping them firmly. She pressed her body into his, feeling the heat of his skin through their clothes, the intensity of their connection sparking between them.
"Mm…" she moaned as Ash opened his mouth, inviting her deeper into the kiss. May eagerly accepted, her tongue meeting his in a fervent battle. They kissed with a fiery passion, their breaths mingling as they lost themselves in each other. May's arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him even closer. Their kiss grew more intense, each of them pouring all their love and desire into it. May's heart raced as she felt Ash's hands tighten on her hips, his touch sending shivers down her spine. She moaned eagerly, her body responding to his every move. Ash's tongue danced with hers, exploring and tasting, his kisses growing more fervent. May felt herself being swept away, her mind drowning in the sensation of his lips, his touch, his love.
Soon, the secluded spot behind the bushes was filled with the sounds of their shared intimacy. May lay panting hard beneath Ash, their bodies entwined and their hearts racing. The morning sun filtered through the leaves above, casting dappled light on their flushed skin. Ash, also panting, gazed down at her with a mixture of love and amazement.
"How is it you get better each time?" May asked between breaths, a playful smile curling her lips. Ash blushed softly, unable to find words, but his eyes spoke volumes. May giggled, the sound light and filled with affection.
"We should get up," Ash suggested, though he made no move to do so.
"One more..." May whispered, pulling him into a loving kiss. Their lips met again, and they moaned softly, the connection between them deep and undeniable. When May finally pulled away for air, she smiled softly at him.
"I love you..." she whispered playfully.
"I love you too..." Ash replied, his voice filled with tenderness. May sat up, shaking the sweat from her hair, her smile radiant. Ash took a deep breath, trying to steady his racing heart.
"You okay?" May asked, concern flickering in her eyes.
"Yeah," Ash nodded, smiling back at her. They began to clean themselves up and get dressed, the intimacy of their shared moment lingering in the air. Ash grabbed his clothes and dressed quickly. May followed suit, changing into fresh clothes and making sure she was presentable.
"Ready?" May asked, her eyes sparkling with renewed determination.
"Yeah," Ash replied, holding out his hand. May took it, their fingers intertwining as they stood together. With a shared smile, they began to walk back towards the cave where the rest of their friends were still sleeping. The morning air was cool and crisp, a perfect contrast to the warmth they had shared.
As they approached the entrance, Janine spotted them first as they emerged from the bushes. "There you are," she called out.
"Morning," May greeted with a cheerful smile.
"Exploring, you two?" Gary asked, raising an eyebrow knowingly.
"Something like that..." Ash replied, a hint of blush on his cheeks. May giggled, the sound light and carefree.
"Well, I think we're about ready to go if you guys are," Dawn said, looking eager to get moving.
"I'd say so," Ash agreed.
"Let's hit the road then," May said, her excitement palpable.
"Way ahead of you," Janine said with a grin. May quickly slipped the skull into her bag before joining the others. Pikachu hopped onto her shoulder, making himself comfortable.
"Hey again," May greeted her little friend.
"Hey there," Pikachu responded, his tail flicking happily.
"Aren't you on the wrong shoulder?" May teased, chuckling.
"No kidding," Ash added with a smile. Pikachu looked between them and shrugged.
"You always have my attention."
"Uh huh," Ash said, rolling his eyes playfully.
"Isn't it a good thing when your best friend and your wife get along?" May laughed.
"Uh-huh..." Ash mumbled, pretending to be indifferent but clearly enjoying the banter. May kissed his cheek. "Yeah, yeah," Ash said, though he couldn't hide his smile.
"Which way?" Janine asked, ready to lead the charge. May closed her eyes, feeling the energy flow through the land. She focused on the signal, sensing the direction the Salamence had taken. Her eyes snapped open, and she pointed confidently down a path.
"That way." Janine nodded, trusting her instincts. May took the lead, heading down the path with Pikachu on her shoulder and Ash by her side. The rest of the group followed, their footsteps filled with purpose and determination.
As the group walked through the forest in search of a new town to take shelter in, Glaceon looked up at Pikachu, her eyes twinkling with curiosity as he road on May's shoulder.
"How's the view from up there?" she wondered. Pikachu glanced down and grinned.
"Not too shabby," he answered.
"Of what's out there, or down here?" she teased, a playful smile spreading across her face.
"Heh," Pikachu chuckled.
"Good answer," Glaceon replied, smiling warmly.
"I do that every now and then," Pikachu said with a soft smile.
"So I've seen," Glaceon remarked, giving him a knowing look. Pikachu smiled softly, feeling a gentle warmth in his chest. Glaceon winked, and her giggle was like a melody. May watched the exchange with a fond smile.
"Adorable," she said, her voice full of affection. Glaceon giggled again, her laughter infectious as Pikachu felt his cheeks heat up slightly, a small smile tugging at his lips. Ash, who had been observing quietly, chuckled.
"Welcome to my world." May squeezed Ash's hand, her eyes sparkling. "Thanks," he said warmly.
"My pleasure, my love," May replied, though a slight sweatdrop appeared on Ash's forehead.
"I may never get used to that," Ash admitted.
"Which one?" May asked, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
"'My love,'" Ash said, a hint of embarrassment in his voice.
"Honey, darling, and Aura Boy I like too." May giggled. Ash sighed, though his smile remained.
"I only got used to Aura Boy because of years of teasing."
"I think calling me by your nickname helps," May said with another giggle.
"Probably..." Ash conceded, smiling back at her. May's expression turned thoughtful.
"Game time. Pretend we're normal for a sec. What nickname would you use for your wife in a normal life?"
"Uh..." Ash stammered, taken aback by the question. May smiled at him, encouraging him to think. "I guess I don't know. We did get married young. Typically those kinda names are used by older couples," Ash said thoughtfully.
"No need to worry there." May leaned in and kissed him gently on the lips. "I'll keep you plenty young."
"What's that even mean?" Ash blushed.
"It means you're going to greatly enjoy the perks of marrying me," May said with a mischievous glint in her eye. Ash's blush deepened, his mind racing. From nearby, Gary chuckled at the couple's exchange, while Dawn giggled softly. Janine, watching with amusement, shook her head.
"You have no sense of privacy," she said to May.
"Nope," May replied cheerfully. Ash sighed, though his smile showed that he wouldn't have it any other way. May suddenly halted, her expression turning alert. "Wait a tick..."
"Hm?" Ash glanced at her, eyebrows furrowing.
"I hear something..." she murmured, her eyes scanning the surroundings. Eventually, her eyes landed on a Vibrava stood silently on a branch, barely noticeable amidst the foliage. "Glaceon!"
"There!" the Ice Type responded instantly and fired an Ice Beam at the Vibrava. The Vibrava leaped off the branch, wings buzzing as he ascended rapidly.
"Don't let it get away!" May commanded urgently. Ash summoned an Aura Sphere, charging it with intense focus. Gary, always quick on the draw, launched a dagger at the Vibrava, forcing him to swerve off course. Ash seized the opportunity and hurled the Aura Sphere. The Vibrava screamed as he was struck, plummeting back towards the ground. May took careful aim, her eyes narrowing. She launched a shuriken with deadly precision, embedding it into the Vibrava's head and ending the minor scuffle.
"I think that was a tad excessive." Ash winced.
"We can't let anyone bring word back to that woman," May explained, her tone resolute. "At least not until we have a better understanding of what's going on."
"I agree with pointy hat." A new voice broke in. The group gasped and spun around in surprise to see the blue-haired woman from the bar standing nearby. The woman's gaze was cold. "What on Earth is wrong with you? Murdering the first creature that comes within view of you? Tsk tsk..."
