Foreword

Alright, I know another Ship of the Line short but really this is an older idea that I had from way back during my writing of the Hunting Snake Ship of the Line story. It was after I was rereading a bunch of the other ship of the line stories that I got this idea. Basically doing an alternative of Ship of the Line: Unlikely Hope where the ExecutorClass Super Star Destroyer Executor was pulled into a Stargate SG-1/Buffy combined world thanks to the famous Halloween Spell. I was like okay the Executoris good, but Xander is now Darth Vader, isn't there something else I could do to get Xander a REAL Ship of the Line, and then I started thinking about one of my favorite Star Wars books X-Wing Bacta War by Michael A. Stackpole. I then asked myself well what if I dropped not the Executorinto the world of Stargate but its sister-ship the Lusankya just after the end of the Bacta War. This idea basically has Xander dressing up as a younger Wedge Antilles for Halloween getting the Lusankya in the bargain. This version of the ship would be slightly different due to the idea that it wouldn't have the support that the Star Wars version of the ship has, therefore, needs some way to keep itself supplied.

Therefore I quickly wrote a brief summary of this idea somewhere and just forget about it soon after. Then when I was looking through some of my older ideas for some new shorts for this project I came across that old idea summary which soon saw me writing out this short as part of this larger project. One of which I hope you enjoy like all of the other shorts included in this Collection.

The Lusankya while a shock too many at the SGC when it just arrived the way it did was one the greatest things to happen to this planet, since thanks to this ship the SGC never had to worry about any Goa'uld attack on the planet while that large dagger-shaped ship hovered protectively over the world. I wouldn't try to attack Earth with the Lusankya ready and willing to defend the world. It managed to secure a healthy future for the tiny, blue ball that I call home something that I shall always remember that ship for.

Earth Orbit
October 30, 2004AD

On the large bridge of the large slim dagger-shaped warship that hovered in high orbit of the small blue jewel of a planet the figure of the young man known as Xander Harris stared out the forward viewport in shock as the world, he called home slowly rotated below him. It had only been an hour since he had awakened standing on the bridge of a freaking honest-to-god Super Star Destroyer of Star Wars fame. At first, he was confused at what he was doing there, the starting to be scared that since he was on an Imperial ship white-armored Stormtroopers would be dragging him off for interrogation before finally, his memories of the night started to be returned to him.

For one night he had been Commander Wedge Antilles, Rebel Ace Pilot, and leader of the famous Rouge Squadron of the New Republic. After suddenly awakening in an unknown city and some brief confusion at what was happening he managed to get to a nearby T-65 X-Wing Starfighter which he used to get off the planet. The Commander had been shocked and somewhat scared to see the ominous shape of an ExecutorClass Super Star Destroyer in orbit as if waiting for him. He then got even more confused when he spotted the bright blue Rebel Starbird emblems gracing the hull of the ship. He was even more confused to see the images were mainly the center section of the Rouge Squadron Crest: A blue Rebel Starbird with a circular red background. He was then all-out shocked at the communication from the ship welcoming him to the ship and given him clearance to land. He began even more confused when he landed in the huge ship's main hanger bay and only saw various droids walking around instead of organic crew. He quickly managed to identify the droids as OOM-Series Battle Droids due to recently seeing similar droids crewing the Thranta Class War Cruiser Valiant during the last weeks of the Bacta War. To his further confusion, he noticed a familiar white and silver painted T-Series Tactical Droid along with an even more familiar black painted M-3P0 Protocol Droid moving to meet up with him. These two, of course, being Emtrey the Rouge's quirky Droid quartermaster, and TZ-999 Niner the former commander of the Valiant before Wedge assigned Aril Nunb to command the old War Cruiser. He had met Niner for the first time just after the end of the Battle of Thyferra when Aril had arrived onboard the crippled Lusankya. After meeting the two droids and being told he was onboard a fully restored Lusankya he had somehow managed to make it to the bridge not noticing the various OOM-Series Droids as they went about their duties. Just as arrived at the front of the bridge to stare out the main viewport something hit him turning back into Xander Harris.

Now the young man just stood in the same spot not noticing the pair of droids patiently waiting behind him. The two droids knew personally that something had happened but had the directives to follow the orders of this man hardwired into them like the rest of the ship's droid crew. After what seemed like an eternity to the young man he was jolted from his inner-thoughts by the great swish of the doors of a nearby turbolift and the arrival of a third droid on the bridge. This droid was obviously a member of the far-more superior ST-Series Super Tactical Droid though it looked entirely different from the droids often seen in the service of the Confederacy of Independent Systems for its triple sensor eyes weren't evil red but a lighter blue. It also was painted in a blue and white paint job quite different from others of its model. All of this made it look quite different from what Xander remembered from his memories from Wedge.

"Ah, there you are X-Man! You like the new digs?" the droid immediately said as he stepped up towards the man making Xander look at the droid in confusion before he suddenly gasped in shock at the slightly familiar voice coming out of the droid.

"Jesse…!" he managed to say before sputtering in shock at the droid who chuckled lightly at him.

"Yes bro it's really me not some sort cheap copy, still not sure about being a droid but I think I got a good deal here. Now before you all ask all those questions rung around in your head I believe that you need to watch this," the droid mentioned before handing over a small holoprojector to the still shocked Xander who shook his head before eying the Jesse-Droid before activating it. With a hiss, a tiny holographic figure of a man appeared over the holoprojector staring up at him. Xander frowned seeing that he could not identify the man from either his real memories or the inherited memories from Wedge. Though he could admit that there was a sense of familiarity with the man as if he had known him from somewhere.

"Hello Alexander, I'm sure you have many questions, and I shall see about answering them with this message. First, my name is Janus, and I am what you would call a godly figure. Of course, I am not really a god but a mighty being, and I have known by many names over the years, but I don't think you need to know that. Moving on I am reasonable for what happened during Halloween thanks to a simple man who believed that he is one my followers calling upon me to power a spell to turn everybody in their costumes. When I noticed this I decided to use this opportunity to fix some issues I had with this dimension since it was rapidly heading towards its destruction," the man said answering a few of his questions but created several more in their place mostly that there were god-like beings out there like this man. The man suddenly paused a moment as if to give Xander some time to absorb everything he had said before continuing on.

"However this world's destruction wasn't going to be coming from the beings you call vampires, demons, and the other creatures of the night for a while that battle has its fair share of troubles due to some management issues it is still an even fight or at least its going to be. No, what I am talking about Alexander is enemies coming not from a demon or hell dimension but from other planets which can destroy this planet you call home several times over which shall end up destroying this dimension entirely. I have seen it happening in another nearby dimension to this one and I think you people need a little boost to help in this fight which I gave you," the god-like being paused as he waved a hand around including the entire ship in his statement which allowed Xander to take a nearby seat from his shock from what he heard from the message.

"Now I am sorry to say, Alexander, that you have a new mission different from your earlier mission of supporting the Slayer basically defending your planet from an attack from another world. With that said you can still visit your friends on the planet and even recruit some of them to help in your mission like what I have done with the spirit of your friend Jesse. Yes, I did indeed take the pure spirit of your friend and placed him into a new body that you have already seen. No worries though I made sure to ask his permission before I did anything. Now that is said I am going to go over a few more things before ending this message and letting you get to your new mission," the figure mentioned much to the shock and some anger from Xander but looking over at the quiet droid form of Jesse made him shake his head with a sigh before turning his attention back to the message as it continued on.

"You may notice that your inherited memories and skills you picked up from Wedge Antilles are not from the younger version that you dressed up as during Halloween but from an older version of the man. This is to give the most experience you will need to command this ship and your forces against the enemy I mentioned earlier. Next, this ship is quite different from what you remember from those same said memories for I had to make a few changes to allow yourself to be somewhat self-sufficient. With all that said I am sure you have plenty more questions and those shall be answered by some files that I left in the ship's computer core for your later perusal. This includes dedicated intelligence files on your new enemies, data on some allies you may get in this fight and some other tidbits that answer any further of your questions. For now, I suggest you get this ship out of orbit before someone sees it on the ground and starting a panic. I am using my powers to cover you for now, but it won't last for long. Therefore, I think that is the first thing you need to do. With all that said, Alexander, I wish you good luck for you are going to need it," the hologram finished with a bow of his head before disappearing. Xander frowned at the communicator for a moment before sighing and closing his eyes briefly to immerse himself in the memories of Wedge Antilles before turning towards the viewport of the bridge and the ship's large helm station.

"Helm bring the ship to a position behind the planet's moon," he ordered watching as the several OOM-Series Droids that were reasonable for controlling the movement of the ship move to follow the order while the dark blue-painted OOM Droid that served as the senior officer of the Helm Station turned to him with a salute.

"Aye Aye sir," the droid replied in a far-more pleasant mechanical voice making Xander blinks in surprise at this expecting the annoying 'Roger Roger' answer from the droid from his memories of watching Episode I. With that said the thirteen massive main sub-light engines of the ship started to activate pushing the ship on a course towards the Moon that orbited the planet he called home. The young commander watched as the droids expertly brought the 19,000-meter long behemoth he found himself in command of towards its intended destination. Several minutes later the ship shuddered to a stop behind the moon covered the darkness of the moon's shadow. With that done Xander once more turned to the helm station with a small smile gracing his face.

"Well done, Helm, keep us here in the moon's shadow till further orders," he mentioned with a nod to the helm droids who all saluted him in response before turning back to their duties.

"With that done Niner, Emtrey, and Jesse follow me for I believe I am going to need to be fully briefed on this ship, its crew, and everything else about this position I found myself dropped into," he ordered the hereby silent forms of the three droids before exiting the bridge with a frown wondering why this had happened to him with the three droids following behind him. Both Jesse and Niner exchanging looks behind his back as they walked behind Xander knowing that he wasn't going to be all that happy about being forced into this.

Earth

On the planet, advanced sensors hidden along the many devices along the top of a single mountain which housed the United State's NORAD Facility, picked up the orbiting ship just as it moved from orbit heading towards the moon. This advanced sensor then sent the data down to smaller more secret facility hidden underneath NORAD. The data would be looked at by a computer which triggered an alarm at this secret facility along similar alarms at the country's combined military headquarters the Pentagon. In his higher plane, the being known Janus saw this and smiled for everything was going as he planned, for he had lied slightly to Xander for yes he covered the ship with his powers, but he dropped the skills exactly when he ordered the ship to be moved. He needed a way to get the boy's allies in the game somehow, and this was it.

Stargate Command

Colorado, United States

At the secret facility and base are known as Stargate Command, the alarms continued on as the man in charge of the base one General George Hammond entered the control room of the base.

"Alright what do we have?" he asked with a frown for he had been called in from home where he had been enjoying Halloween with his granddaughters therefore not all that happy. The officer on duty turned to the General with a salute and nervous expression on his face.

"Sir at Nineteen Hundred Hours our sensors picked up a ship in orbit which soon moved away and is now hiding behind the moon," the officer reported with a nervous twitch as he eyed the General who frowned at this report wondering what was going on here.

"Did the sensors pick up any hyperspace activity before the appearance of the ship in orbit?" he asked looking over at one of the techs manning the deep space sensor station of the command center.

"No sir nothing it's like the ship just appeared in orbit," the tech reported with a shake of his head. The General frowned at this as he studied the displays at the deep space sensor station to see a brief glimpse of the back-half of the ship as it traveled into the shadow of the moon.

"Very well then have a SG-1 report back to base for it looks like I do have a mission for them after all," the General ordered another nearby standing officer who saluted his superior officer before running off to do just that. The older man then turned his attention back to the displays briefly before shaking his head as he stared at the Stargate through the control room's reinforced window. He didn't really want to call back SG-1 for they were taking part in Halloween with Janet Fraiser and her new daughter Cassandra but he had little choice for they still were one of his most experienced teams. They had needed the break due to their experiences on Netu and the Foothold experience that happened right before that.

"Now how are we going to get them into space," the old General mused as he turned away from staring at the Stargate and started to figure how they are going to deal with this newest problem that dropped onto the plate of his command. As he walked up the stairs to the briefing room and his office he was sure whatever it was SG-1 would be able to do figure out a way to deal with this latest problem somehow. He smiled briefly at this thought before entering his office to let the President know what was going on now.

Alright! I am on a role! This is the second Ship of the Line short I did for this group of stories and while it is a bit similar in appearance to my earlier Hunting Snakes story which had the Venator Class Star Destroyer Resolute be the ship of the line of the story while Xander dressed up as a Clone Wars era Anakin Skywalker. This time it's the Executor Class Super Star Destroyer Lusankya after being repaired and absorbed into the New Republic Fleet. While Xander dressed as Wedge Antilles from around the time he is training Wraith Squadron though he received the memories of an older Wedge from later in the man's career mostly when he was the commander of the Lusankya.

The idea that the Valiant and its sister ships along with the Another Chance were crewed by OOM-Series Battle Droids was an idea I had for a long while for it does make some sense in the scheme of things. Now this version of the Lusankya is crewed the same way which is the opposite from the future Clone crewed ships of Alexander Skywalker in Hunting Snakes. The Thranta Class would have made an appearance later on in the story with it being based on another more well-known ship.

Meanwhile, on the Stargate SG-1 side, it's about mid-way between Season Three, SG-1 just got back from Netu which I had happened early October while the Foothold episode I am having happening before that around late September. I know the Foothold Episode was shown after the Netu episodes, but I put it just before then just because I wanted it like that. SG-1 is taking part in a Halloween party with Doc Fraiser and Cassie as a sort of mini-vacation for them.

That said that is about it for now. This story may make another appearance in another Collection Type story which sports many shorts by me for the Ship of the Line Challenge. There I may expand on it there, or it may just be like this. Anyhow, see you then…
