Foreword

Basically this little story is a continuation of my Divergence Point series, a Code Geass story that diverges from canon around the time of Turn 19: Betrayal, where Lelouch doesn't just have the Black Knights as followers but the Black Fusiliers as well who whisk him away from the Black Knight command staff before they could kill him. This group had gone through several names over the years since I first came up with this idea. Originally they had been the Black Guard and then the Knights of Zero before I finally settled on the Black Fusiliers.

Anyways one major thing that kind of put me off on what to do with the Emperor after Betrayal for without Lelouch confronting he might just go with his plans without anyone fighting against him to prevent it. Therefore the story stalled while I tried to figure a way to take him out of the picture and continue story onwards to where I want it. However I couldn't find any way of doing so therefore I put the story onto the back burner and moved onto other matters. Around the start of October 2014 or so I came up with a killer idea to remove Charles from the story but cannot figure out a place to slide it into the story I had already written therefore I place here to readers to see what I am working on and maybe have someone come up with a way to slide into the story.

That said I hope you enjoy this for I loved writing it, for it is something that has never been done before to my knowledge. Anyways that is enough for I go on yet another rant, therefore, please enjoy this little piece of insanity from yours truly…

EDIT: Again. I wrote this short ages ago. I apoglize.

On a large hovering platform that was enshrouded with many clouds and some sort of golden light a series of figures stood to face off with one another. One figure stood apart from the rest of the others staring down at the others that were facing against him with a sort of amusement displayed on his aged yet regal looking face. At the head of this other group was a thin, blond haired man wearing all white who stood looking up at the towering figure with a frown on his aristocratic face. Surrounding him were four others all looking up at the figure as well mostly shock, but a bit of anger and fear could see on their collective faces. Both from being frozen in place from some unknown power and that man now standing in front of him had been shot dead only moments before.

"So you have finally made your move Schneizel el Britannia, but as can you see you cannot in any way defeat me for I am immortal and in only minutes time your little rebellion against me will end when the Sword of Akasha finishes its work," the towering figure one Emperor Charles zi Britannia mused in an almost thundering voice as he eyed the figures before him with some distain. Before turning slightly and looking up with a large smile at the towering mega structure that was ever slowly reaching out towards the massive planet looking projection that took up the entire "sky" over the platform. This was the true form of the Sword of Akasha and with it the Emperor will be able to finally complete the mission he had taken upon himself to do many years before. With a shake of his head the massive man turned to look at the figures standing with his foolish second son.

"Sir Suzaku Kururugi, my Knight of Seven, you could have been one of the best of my knights but instead you choose to join Schneizel's little rebellion against me," the Emperor mentioned with some disappointment and a shake of his head once more.

"To think you could have seen a world that your precious Princess Euphemia would be returned to you and at peace," the man continued with a small thrill at the anger now rolling off the younger man before he turn to look at the second more feminine figure who was looking up at him with some shock and anger at what he was going to say to her.

"Cornelia another of my disappointing offspring and to think you could have joined me after your investigation into the Geass Directorate but instead you choose to throw your support along with your forces behind your brother. Like I mentioned to the young Knight of Seven you could have had Euphemia your sister returned to you if you had joined me, but now I am sorry to say you won't be able to see her at all," he said with a sneer on his face making the former Britannian General and Princess look at him in sheer horror and shock. The figure standing slightly behind her gritted his teeth in anger as he watched the Emperor all out tear down his lady before moving onto him before shaking his head with a small sneer on his face before facing the last of the figures facing off against him. However before he could say anything a series of light footfalls could be heard from behind them which made the Emperor look up in surprise at this as a seventh figure emerged from the clouds and fog that covered the platform making the Emperor arrogant face disappear in sheer shock and horror at what he was now seeing before him.

"Marianne! What? How?" the Emperor managed to say after several moments staring at the new figure, one Marianne vi Britannia the his thought dead Consort and the woman that always held his heart in her hands no matter what she said about it.

"Don't look so shocked Charles for did you forget that C.C. gave me a Geass as well," the woman said in a slight mocking tone of voice not even looking over at the now frozen figures of the others as she passed by them heading towards the figure of the man she had thought a friend and leader maybe even someone she could have ended up loving in the future however that all changed when she learned what the man had done to her children, her remaining family, and her friends.

"But we could never figure out what it did," the Emperor finally managed to say after a few moments of sputtering in shock at he was seeing and hearing. Marianne only snorted at this she started to stock around the now shaking figure of the Emperor with an angered look on her face as she eyed the man.

"The Geass of Soul Transference is quite interesting in that the user needs at first needs to be near death for it to work. I received it for one simple reason in that I didn't want to leave behind my children in death for I knew that it was only a matter of time before some uppity noble tried to kill me for being a commoner who had thoughts upon her station. Therefore upon my so-called death I managed to transfer my spirit if you will into a host but thanks in part to young age of my host and being unfamiliar with the Geass itself I wasn't able to really resurface till years later. When I did I was confused for I couldn't find anything about my children or family in the few times I could control my host but while I could take control of my host for a limited time I couldn't figure out a way to control my host fully or even leave it for another more willing host to see what was going on. Not to mention I did not want to really hurt my host for after all she is my god daughter after all, therefore I decided to bide my time waiting trying to figure out a way to control my Geass better," the woman mentioned as she continued to stock around the now sweating form of the Emperor before she finally stopped right in front of the man looking at him right in the eyes with an angry glare on her face she continued her tirade at the man.

"Then during a battle in China, I came in contact with CC when she was attacking my host during the overall larger battle. This allowed me to see her memories of what had been happened since my death all those years ago which after the surprise worn off made me quite angry. For the man that I had followed all those years ago and then married to protect my family from the nobility ended up destroying said family. My children and oldest friends exiled to a potential hostile country which soon was invaded by an army that I had once been part of which saw the innocence of my son ripped away as he carried his younger, blind and disabled, sister through the killing fields of a war in an effort to find my friends who had been exiled to the country themselves right before they were. Then my son to find out what happened that day took up arms against you where he would eventually be captured by one of his closest friends and brought before you. You then proceeded to change his memories of his entire life, removing his memories of me, his life as a Prince, his younger sister, and his rebellion against your Empire. With that done you then used him as bait to capture CC so you can complete this sick plan of yours. Now I find out from my host that my daughter had died due to a weapon that your son had created and had been fired at my son by one of your knights who again was an old friend of his. I also found that you were secretly pleased when you found out about the existence of the weapon," she continued with a roaring angry sounding voice shooting glares to the still frozen figures of Suzaku Kururugi and Second Prince Schneizel. Suzaku she was pleased to see had started sobbing at what he was done while Schneizel only had a neutral look on his face as he continued to stare up at the two of them. She was also pleased to see the horrified look on the face of Cornelia, one of the few half-siblings of her children that she had liked. She then once more faced the quivering scared man that was before her with a sneer on her face before leaning forward as a sword appeared in her hand making the Emperor gasp in surprise as he looked at the sword.

"Please Marianne have some mercy. All that I have done was so that there could a gentler world, one where we can all understand each other. No more lies, No more masks," the man said trying to convince the woman that he loved that his plans where right however he stopped when he saw Marianne's face as she glared at him.

"Sorry Charles. I am all out of mercy! Now Die!" she said with a snarl before thrusting her sword through the body of the Emperor.

"No!" the man cried out as he felt his body start to disappear into the ether. After a final cry he disappeared never to be seen again. As this happened the raising contraption that is the true form of the Sword of Akasha started to fall apart as the man who had been connected to it died. With a nod Marianne whipped her sword out before sheathing it with a flourish and then turned to look over at the still frozen figures who were now staring at her wondering what was going to happen now.

"Now what I am going to do with you lot," she said advancing on them however before she could get anywhere she was frozen as well.

"That is quite enough Marianne Karen Lamperouge!" a booming voice called out from the direction of the large planet that made up the sky of the platform. This had all of them look up in surprise as a winged figure appeared over them before slowly drifting down towards the platform. This new figure shocked Marianne for it looked remarkably like CC just with silver hair and a golden glowing Geass emblem on her forehead. Not to mention the large white and silver wings sprouting out from her back. The figure looked over at the still frozen figures of Prince Schneizel and his party with a frown on her face.

"You have all served your purpose here. Be gone!" the figure mentioned with a larger, more powerful sounding, voice which then saw the five disappearing from the World of C and back to the real world. Marianne blinked at this before turning her attention to the figure who had turned to look over at her with a smile on her face.

"We thank you Marianne Karen Lamperouge for removing the threat to us that was Charles zi Britannia," the figure spoke in that same booming, but ethereal sounding, voice as she advanced towards Marianne.

"Your welcome…ummm…God," Marianne mentioned after a moment wondering what was going on here. She remembered from the memories she had seen with CC that Charles plan had been to kill "God" which wasn't some sort of powerful being that was spoken of in scripture but the collective human unconsciousness of the entire human race.

"As payment for your service, we shall give three boons to you. The first being that we removed any memories of this encounter with Charles zi Britannia from Schneizel el Britannia and his followers. They only remember that they managed to kill Charles zi Britannia. Therefore, your survival will not be known to them. The second boon is removing the memory blocks Charles Zi Britannia put on your young cousin, and goddaughter Anya Alstreim has been removed therefore she now remembers everything including the newer memories she had made since the memory blocks where added. And yes this was one reason why you couldn't emerge fully when you possessed her. Finally, we have given you your body back but at the cost of your Geass therefore if you die again you will die for real this time. Though we won't stop you if you wish to make another contract with Code Bearer CC," the glowing angelic like figure mentioned making Marianne look at this angelic being in shock and surprise at this. This was the last thing she thought would happen when she managed to get Anya come here after the battle between the Royal Guard and Schneizel's forces were over. Therefore due to her surprise, she didn't do anything when the figure touched her forehead briefly at the end of its speech making Marianne's form glow gold briefly before settling. This made Marianne shake her head in shock for she was now once more alive and didn't need to possess a host anymore.

"I thank you God for this gift and I promise I shall not waste it!" Marianne mentioned with a bow of her head to the angelic figure who only replied with a regal nod of her own head.

"However we would like to ask you to help us restore your former Contractor CC to her true self which she had sacrificed to help your son Lelouch vi Britannia. You only need to touch her physical body and we shall do the rest," the figure mentioned after a few moments of silence between the pair of them. This made Marianne's eyes widen in surprise for she had not known this, granted she had known CC had given Lelouch a geass just like she had asked her to do all those years before, but had not known what happened to her.

"I understand God I shall help you restore my friend," she replied with a nod of her head to the figure.

"With that done Marianne Karen Lamperouge we shall leave you to your new life," the figure mentioned as she started to ascend away from the platform back towards the planet that represented the collective human unconsciousness in this plane. Marianne watched her go before she disappeared with a slight flash and with that done she started towards the exit of the platform and back to the real world for she had a family to reunite with.

/evil cackle/

How was that?! Surprised. I don't know any other Code Geass story out there that has Marianne being a good guy that we thought of her during the First Season and the majority of the Second Season. The one thing that pissed me off about that last section of the Second Season was that we found out that Marianne is just much of a bad guy as Charles and VV were. That was something that made me go 'what the hell…' When I watched that episode. It was like alright we built up Lelouch over the past thirty or so episodes to avenge the death of his mother and then out of nowhere we find out she survived her death by using her Geass and is just as bad as his father. This is just after losing his sister, the amnesia of his Contractor and Friend, the support of his Black Knights and the death of a close friend. I was like no way this is TOO much. Therefore I decided that in any of my stories I shall go out of my way to make her a good guy once more.

Hence when I was thinking about this story a while ago I was like how am I going to take out Charles without involving Lelouch when Marianne came up and I thought it was perfect for this story and here we go! I hope you enjoyed this version of Charles getting his just desert, granted I think his reactions need to be worked out a bit better but still it was fun writing this.

Anyways that is about it folks let's get to the next story on the list. Remember let me know what you think of it!
