(With several angles on Fudo Go, then Wheel of Fortune, Blackbird, Bloody Kiss, The Wild Card, and Akatsuki, before focusing on all six members of Team 6D's, Matt started narrating.)
"Turbo Duels. That's the dueling that evolved in the world of speed. There are those who risk their lives and bear legendary birthmarks. People started calling them 6D's!"
(A barrage of cards flew through a great darkness before turning into a ball of light, which Matt Fudo caught. He let loose a great yell as the ball turned into a huge, green pole of light, similar to that of the Synchro Summoning moment.)
Go and run!
On this path,
that connects,
To the future that's beyond
(Out of the light, Matt, aboard his Duel Runner, Fudo Go, races through with 'Stardust Dragon' being Summoned in an instant.)
And then there lies,
A new legendary DUEL!
(As 'Stardust Dragon' flew into the sky, its fellow Signer Dragons appear; 'Red Dragon Archfiend', 'Black-Winged Dragon', 'Black Rose Dragon', 'Ancient Fairy Dragon', and 'Life Stream Dragon'. The title then appeared.)
Yu-Gi-Oh! 6D's: Legend of the Six Dragons
(Lisa and David then appeared as they called out several of their monsters; 'Naturia Landoise', 'Naturia Barkion', 'Naturia Beast', and 'Naturia Exterio' for Lisa, and 'Morphtronic Earfon', 'Morphtronic Smartfon', 'Morphtronic Radion', 'Morphtronic Telefon', 'Morphtronic Vacuumen', and 'Power Tool Dragon' for David. In another still, James R. and Carlie Summoned many of their own monsters, too; 'Blackwing Armor Master', 'Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower', 'Blackwing - Aurora the Northern Lights', 'Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind', 'Blackwing Full Armor Master', and 'Assault Blackwing - Onimaru the Divine Thunder' for James R., and 'Fallen Angel of Roses', 'Queen Angel of Roses', 'Roxrose Dragon', 'Ruddy Rose Witch', 'Splendid Rose', and 'Rose Girl' for Carlie.)
If you don't know what, or know what that you want,
Try to shake those feelings away
So many things that, you could do with yourself,
But then set them free anyway
(Matt Summoned 'Junk Warrior', 'Formula Synchron', 'Turbo Warrior', 'Accel Synchron', 'Junk Archer', 'Drill Warrior', 'Junkuriboh', and 'Effect Veiler' while Michael summoned 'Dark Highlander', 'Exploder Dragonwing', 'Red Wyvern', 'Trust Guardian', 'Absolute King Back Jack', 'Bone Archfiend', and 'Crimson Blader'. Sherry LeBlanc, meanwhile, appeared as her long blonde hair blew about in the wind, showing off a still of her riding Sturm und Drang.)
Your beginnings always depends on only you
Everyone is wandering about how, you can go and pursue the light
(The three Astray girls drift past in a sea of light as they wore their female Orb-based motorcyclist outfits while standing beside their respective M1 Astrays, followed by Shinji Weber standing near Killer Wasp while staring up at the sky. Focus went on Orb's Erica Simmons as she wore the teacher's version of Orb's female motorcyclist outfit, stood beside her Duel Runner called Murasame, and readied a Monster Card known as 'T.G. Blade Blaster' in the fingers of her right hand. Pan towards the full Mark of the Dragon appearing on Matt's back. He revved faster as he performed Clear Mind and made the racetrack explode. We then cut to the seven Dark Signers—the three Bio-CPU boys, Muruta Azrael, Rutger, Vincent Stevens, and Misty Tredwell—along with the opening eyes of another unknown figure.)
But it seems that you, lost sight of your dreams
And these bonds, connected us, I know will never go fade away
(GROWING! GO MY WAY!)
(The six Signer Dragons flew through the air as their respective owners watched on. We then cut to see the Dark Signers with their respective 'Earthbound Immortal' monsters before the silhouette of a much larger one shaped like a condor was shown above.)
Become like the storm, and tear through the dark
Because now, you're never apart
Even though you cannot see where you will head towards, right now!
(The six Signer Dragons, donning evolved forms, fight off against the seven 'Earthbound Immortal' monsters before focusing their attention on the Condor-shaped silhouette. Matt and Michael both flew new versions of Fudo Go and Wheel of Fortune called Freedom and Justice respectively, towards the beast with 'Stardust Dragon' and 'Red Dragon Archfiend' as the two Signer Dragons flashed between alternate forms like 'Majestic Star Dragon' and 'Majestic Red Dragon', then into 'Shooting Star Dragon' and 'Red Nova Dragon', and finally into what appeared to be new monsters known as 'Shooting Quasar Dragon' and 'Red Supernova Dragon', getting ready to attack.)
Use both of your legs, and keep running on
Don't be afraid, cause you have strong bonds
Head towards the path, that leads up to your future
GOING MY WAY! On this path that you'll endure!
(The final still of the scene showed as the title returned.)
Yu-Gi-Oh! 6D's: Legend of the Six Dragons
Title: Prometheus Unbound
Opening up in the severely damaged parking lot of Orb, the Signers and many of their remaining friends and allies continued to face the Dark Signers, with the war having officially begun.
"Dark Signers…" growled Matt, "I'll never forgive any of you!"
Rutger ignored the threatening words and turned towards Vincent in order to silently nod at him (Vincent), signaling he could engage one of the Signers in battle—but also to not fail. Excited over the prospect of dueling David again and winning said duel, Vincent nodded back before looking back towards the one person he wanted to fight and/or break more than anything.
"I guess it's that time, robo-boy," grinned Vincent, as David listened and glared right back, "It's time for us to engage in the world's greatest Turbo Duel ever!"
David, already wanting revenge for Gabriella's near death, silently nodded as a way of accepting the challenge. With that, the remaining Dark Signers (except the hooded Misty) started to leave.
"Wait!" shouted Matt, angry that the Dark Signers would just leave for the time being, "Don't you dare leave! We're finishing things here!"
"Do not worry, we'll duel," reassured Rutger, as he stopped walking, "However, now is not the time for our own fight."
The Dark Signer leader then looked nearby. Misty, meanwhile, seemed to glare at Carlie with sheer hatred in her (Misty) unseen eyes, causing Carlie to wonder why that Dark Signer seemed to be staring at her (Carlie) like that. While the other Signers had some personal history with the Dark Signers (Matt and Clotho, David and Vincent, Lisa and Azrael, etc.), Carlie was the only one without such a thing regarding the remaining, lone female Dark Signer.
"We're leaving!" The voice of Rutger echoed.
Misty overheard the call and turned around to follow—well, at least until…
"Wait!" called Carlie, causing Misty to stop for a few seconds. She seemed confused and worried at the same time, "Do you…somehow know me?"
Misty ignored the question and simply walked away. Not about to let the Dark Signers get away, Matt started running after them.
"Matt!" protested James R..
"Fudo-san!" added David.
As Matt tried approaching the Dark Signers out of the parking lot and onto the street, a thick blanket of fog showed up and slowed him down significantly. But when the fog finally faded away and Matt got his bearings, the Dark Signers were long gone.
"Don't run away!" demanded Matt in desperation, "Show yourselves!"
"Hmhmhm… Let's not be hasty, Matt Fudo," The voice of Rutger chortled, "We all will have our destined duel—but, first, David and Vincent will face off together as a warm-up."
"I don't give a damn about that!" retorted Matt heatedly, "I want to settle things with you guys, right here and now!"
"Come to the destination of your star of fate. Venture on according to your fates."
"Hold on! Fight with me, now!" The dirty blonde-haired young man bellowed, just as Rutger and the other Dark Signers started to laugh in response, "Duel… duel with me!"
His final scream of frustration and rage echoed throughout the area. Twenty or so minutes later, near the exit of Orb's parking lot, David, riding The Wild Card, and Vincent, riding The Beast, were stationed beside a traffic light, all ready for their Turbo Duel. Everyone else along with Matt, meanwhile, was watching and waiting for the nightmarish duel to begin.
"You know the stakes of our duel, right?" teased Vincent, while David, again, turned his (David) head, listened, and glared, "After all, Discord foolishly went through the duel with Azrael and died as a result of losing," His smile grew eviler, "And this time, I'm going to use my 'Earthbound Immortal'—a card I never had the chance to use in my last duel."
"The gravity of the stakes at hand are not lost on me," said David severely, "But, as a Signer," He pointed forth with the index finger of his right hand, "I will defeat you!"
"Hmph! Just try it, robo-boy," dared Vincent.
With the birthmark of the Dog glowing on his right forearm, Vincent Stevens made a ghostly wall of fire erupt on the side of the road to trap himself and David inside. From a bird's eye view, the whole geoglyph of the Dog formed on the ground below, covering a good portion of Hartford. Meanwhile, the two duelists pressed a button on their respective Duel Runners On the monitors of The Wild Card and The Beast, a whole new Spell Card ('High Speed World') materialized and activated.
"Duel Mode, engaged," came a computerized voice aboard the two, respective Duel Runners, "Manual Mode activated."
From there, both Duel Runners became surrounded by a purple dome. While that was going on, nearby with the group, Lisa heard a ringing tone coming from her half-jacket's pocket. She took out her cellphone and answered it.
"Hello?" Lisa greeted.
(elsewhere…)
Inside the Hartford Hospital, Ren was currently in a hallway and on the phone as Futaba stood by his side. Various doctors and nurses were busy in the background, very busy, getting sick and/or injured patients evacuated while also getting whatever medical possessions they had out.
"Lisa, this is Ren speaking, David's Father," began Ren.
"Ren? What's going on?" The voice of Lisa followed.
"Earlier, while looking out the window, Futaba and I earlier saw something really freaky in the sky, which seemed to have come in the direction of Orb," replied Ren, "So for…"
(elsewhere…)
Back in Orb's parking lot…
"…the safety of Gabriella, Ashima, and the other patients, we've convinced the heads of this hospital to move everyone out," The voice of Ren went on, "It's all to be on the safe side."
"That's good to know," accepted Lisa, "But where will you go?"
"Just to a safer location outside the city," The voice of Ren answered.
(elsewhere…)
Back inside the hallway of the hospital, Ren was about to continue speaking when Futaba took the cellphone from him and spoke to Lisa herself.
"Lisa, please try not to worry about all of us," she suggested, "We'll make it out of here and get to safety, but it will take some time."
"Easy for you to say," The voice of Lisa responded, "Dave will go nuts if anything bad were to happen to all of you."
Futaba frowned a little bit, remembering how devastated David was back when Gabriella was being rushed to surgery.
(elsewhere…)
In Orb's parking lot…
"Just…please try to hurry if you can," pleaded Lisa, as the three Astray girls leaned in to listen to the conversation, "Dave's about to engage in a Turbo Duel against one of the Dark Signers, and I think that hospital you're at might be stuck in said duel's path."
"Oh dear," The voice of Futaba worried, "We'll focus on getting everyone out. You please make sure David will be okay."
"Alright, stay safe—you, Ren, Gabriella, Ashima, and everyone at the hospital," said Lisa, "Thank you, and goodbye."
She hung up.
"Well?" wondered Juri.
"Ren and Futaba saw what happened around Orb, so they convinced the owners of the hospital to evacuate everyone to a safe zone," reported Lisa, "The hospital still has lots of people to rescue, but…" She looked towards Matt, who listened carefully, "…they promised to make sure everyone's out and safe, including Gabriella and Ashima."
Matt looked surprised, but seemed relieved to hear that Ashima was being led to safety, along with everyone else there. Just then…
"Turbo Duel!" The voice of David began.
"Acceleration!" The voice of Vincent finished.
"$*#^! I never told Dave what's going on with his family!" realized Lisa in a panic, looking nearby and seeing The Wild Card and The Beast driving off, "Dave, wait! There's something I need to tell-!" But, alas, she was too late to stop them, "Damn it all!"
Meanwhile, David was pouring every ounce of power to The Wild Card, needing to make the first corner and get the first turn. Surprisingly, The Beast proved to be faster than it had been previously, before managing to win the race.
"Vincent must have made serious upgrades to The Beast since his loss to Lisa-chan in Governor Godwin's tournament and becoming a Dark Signer," thought David, "This is no doubt going to be my toughest battle yet, and I can't afford to lose," He spoke aloud (LP: 4000), "Let's go, Vincent!"
"And now, it's time to duel!" screeched Vincent (LP: 4000). He then got ready to draw his first card, "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for a more proper rematch, robo-boy," The spiky black-haired young man drew the card, "It's my turn!"
Turn One: Vincent Stevens (LP: 4000)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (6): "Summon Reactor・SK", "Angel Baton", "Doom Submarine", "Neo Flamvell Origin", "Darksea Rescue", and "Curse of the Circle"
Speed Counters: 0
His drawn card was a Trap Card called 'Curse of the Circle', a good card if he were to say so himself. He added it into his hand before holding up another card ('Angel Baton').
"From my hand, I'll activate 'Angel Baton'!" began Vincent, before drawing two cards and sending another card ('Doom Submarine') to the GY, "I must draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card."
All of a sudden, emerging from the ground and onto the field, was a familiar demonic-looking submarine-like monster (Level: 7/ATK: 0/DEF: 300).
"What's that?" gawked David.
"This is the Tuner monster, 'Doom Submarine'," answered Vincent, before going over his monster's first effect, "If this card is in my GY and I control no monsters: I can Special Summon this card," He then readied another card ('Darksea Rescue'), "Next, I'll Normal Summon 'Darksea Rescue'!"
Vincent placed the card onto a Monster Zone on his Duel Runner. Appearing on the field was the rubber life raft carrying a number of zombies riding it (Level: 1/ATK: 0/DEF: 0).
"A Dark Signer almost always seems to start with a Dark Synchro Monster in a duel," remarked David scornfully.
"My Level 7 'Doom Submarine' dark tunes Level 1 'Darksea Rescue'!" boomed Vincent.
'Doom Submarine' turned itself into seven balls of darkness, which were then absorbed into 'Darksea Rescue', causing the monster to explode into a total of eight balls of darkness, which then began spinning together in a circle above as Vincent echoed a sinister Summon Chant throughout.
"Wailing audible from the depths of the pitch darkness, be wrapped in the armor of death itself and show yourself!" chanted Vincent, as the symbols 1 + 7 = 8 were shown briefly just before a massive beam of darkness exploded from within the eight dark stars, "Dark Synchro!" Before long, the massive pillar of darkness left a gaping hole in the storm-like clouds in the sky as something started to lower, "Appear now, 'Dark Flattop'!"
That something was revealed to be a gigantic ocean aircraft carrier-like monster, and it soon lowered enough to be hovering just barely above the ground level (Level: 8/ATK: 0/DEF: 3000).
"3000 DEF!" gasped David, who wasn't around when Vincent first brought out that monster.
"There's also 'Darksea Rescue's' effect!" recalled Vincent, "If this card is used for a Synchro Summon: The owner draws 1 card, also, if the Synchro Monster is Summoned in Defense Position, draw 1 additional card," He drew two cards, "Now, let's see…"
His two drawn cards were 'Reactor Assembly' (Spell Card) and 'Spell Reactor・RE' (Effect Monster Card), and the rest of his hand contained 'Neo Flamvell Origin', 'Trap Reactor・Y FI', and 'Polymerization'.
"Attacking 'Dark Flattop' won't be so easy thanks to its high DEF," thought David.
"Hey, robo-boy!" cut in Vincent, making David scowl, "Do you know what else 'Doom Submarine' can do?" Before a response could be made, he answered the question himself, "I activate 'Doom Submarine's' second effect!" He held up a card taken from his Deck, "If this card is sent to the GY as material for the Synchro Summon of a DARK Machine monster: I can add 1 Field Spell from my Deck to my hand."
The card was the 'Heavy Metal Raiders' Spell Card.
"But, Vincent, we're having a Turbo Duel!" objected David, "Since 'High Speed World' can't be negated or destroyed, you can't replace it with another Field Spell!"
"I can still use the card to pay a cost if needed," Vincent rebutted, before, armed with another card, swung his right arm about, "I activate the Spell Card, 'Polymerization'!"
Materializing face-up on the field in-front of The Beast was the mentioned Spell Card.
"I must Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck, using monsters from my hand or field as Fusion Material," explained Vincent, then holding up the 'Summon Reactor・SK' Effect Monster Card and the 'Neo Flamvell Origin' Tuner Monster Card, "I fuse 'Summon Reactor・SK' with 'Neo Flamvell Origin'!"
'Summon Reactor・SK' and 'Neo Flamvell Origin' both appeared on the field briefly, before fusing together while the artwork of the 'Polymerization' Spell Card loomed in the background.
"The machine that strikes at the summon, ignite the inferno of origin and burn everything to ashes!" chanted Vincent, as he smiled dementedly, "Fusion Summon! Appear now, 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird'!"
Appearing onto the field, as the Fusion Summon ended, was the huge, bird-like creature made of fire with metal-like armor (Level: 8/ATK: 2800/DEF: 2300).
"Remember this monster?" taunted Vincent.
A flashback ensued.
FLASHBACK
During Flashback David and Flashback Vincent's duel in New York City, both 'Ignition Beast Volcannon' and 'Neo Flamvell Lady' were absorbed into the face-up 'Polymerization' Spell Card and, as a result of it, started fusing together. The face-up 'Call of the Haunted' Trap Card also shattered into shards of glass since the monster Special Summoned by it had left the field.
"I used it against you in our rematch in New York City," narrated Vincent, as his flashback self brought both hands together as an explosion of fire ensued in the background, "You know, back when I kidnapped that pink girl to force you into a duel?"
Appearing out of a blazing fire and onto the field, was a huge, bird-like creature made of fire with metal-like armor (Level: 8/ATK: 2800/DEF: 2300).
END FLASHBACK
The flashback ended, and David uttered an agitated grunt.
"And now, I'll activate 'Dark Flattop's' first effect!" continued Vincent, just as 'Summon Reactor・SK' reappeared on the field (Level: 5/ATK: 2000/DEF: 1400), "Once per turn: I can target 1 'Reactor' monster or 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' in my GY; I must Special Summon that target, ignoring its Summoning conditions!"
"'Summon Reactor・SK'," murmured David.
"I Set two cards!" As Vincent, armed with two cards in his right hand, spoke, he slotted his cards into his Duel Runner, "And from there, I'll activate 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird's' monster effect!" 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird' to fly into the sky and let loose a powerful blast of fire from its mouth, which slammed onto David's whole field, "Once per turn, during my Main Phase: I can inflict 300 damage to my opponent for each card on the field. This card cannot attack during the turn I activate this effect!" He looked as mad (crazy) as ever, "Since I control five cards, you lose 1500 LP, robo-boy!"
David screamed as his LP took a hit from the flames (LP: 4000 → 2500). Suddenly, 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird' turned and breathed more fire, this time at the nearby buildings and causing destruction. Several people who were curiously, if also worriedly, watching the duel started freaking out and fleeing.
"I end my turn!" concluded Vincent, before looking over his shoulder, "Alright, robo-boy, I want you to hit me with no holding back!"
"I can't let Vincent get away with trying to hurt the innocent people in the streets!" thought David, before drawing a card, "Here I go, Vincent! It's my turn!"
With it being the second turn of the duel, both players gained a Speed Counter:
-David: 0 → 1
-Vincent: 0 → 1
Turn Two: David Xadashi (LP: 2500)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (6): "Morphtronic Scannen", "Morphtronic Vacuumen", "Armored Back", "Morphtronic Engine", "Morphtronic Celfon", and "Morphtronic Videon"
Speed Counters: 1
David added the card into his hand, took another one, and readied to play it.
"I first banish…" began David, resulting in the 'Morphtronic Videon' Effect Monster Card in his hand (which also contained 'Morphtronic Vacuumen', 'Armored Back', 'Morphtronic Engine', and 'Morphtronic Celfon') to fade away into oblivion, "…'Morphtronic Videon' from my hand!" He then placed his readied card onto his Duel Runner, "This lets me Special Summon 'Morphtronic Scannen'!"
Appearing on the field was what looked like a 3D printer, which then turned into a robot of sorts (Level: 6/ATK: 1500/DEF: 600). Still looking over his shoulder, Vincent frowned a little bit, having never seen that monster before now.
"So, it seems you've gotten your yellow hands onto new 'Morphtronic' cards," commented Vincent racistly, before resuming his focus on up ahead, "However, I control 'Summon Reactor・SK', and I activate its first effect!" As he explained the effect, 'Summon Reactor・SK's' propellers took effect (slowly at first, but then got faster) and started firing a blast of wind, "The first time a monster(s) is Summoned to my opponent's field: I must inflict 800 damage to my opponent! Summon React!"
The wind blast struck The Wild Card, making David yell out as he struggled to stay on the road and his LP took another hit (LP: 2500 → 1700).
"I activate 'Morphtronic Scannen's' Attack Position effect!" recovered David, as a card ejected from his Deck and he reached over to take it, "Once per turn, during my Main Phase: I can…" He held up the card (without showing what it was, then added it into his hand before taking another card from there and placing it on top of his Deck, "…add 1 'Morphtronic' Spell/Trap from my Deck to my hand, then place 1 card from my hand on top of the Deck."
(elsewhere…)
Back in Orb's parking lot, Matt, Michael, James R., Carlie, and Lisa were wincing because their respective Mark of the Dragon (Matt: Head, Michael: Wings, James R.: Tail, Carlie: Foot, Lisa: Hand) were glowing and reacting to the duel between David and Vincent.
"How's Dave doing against that creep Vincent?" pondered Asagi curiously.
"Ngh… Judging from the pain I feel in my head," grimaced Zack, clutching the sides of his head, "I'd say not so good."
"D-Dave…" Matt hissed in pain.
(elsewhere…)
Back on the dangerous streets, as The Beast and The Wild Card turned the corner, David's turn was ongoing.
"From my hand, I'll Summon 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' in Defense Position!" he declared, placing a card onto his Duel Runner.
Appearing on the field was what looked like a robotic vacuum cleaner (Level: 1/ATK: 0/DEF: 0).
"Tch! I almost forgot how annoying that monster is," grumbled Vincent.
A flashback ensued.
FLASHBACK
During Flashback David's first real duel with Flashback Vincent, he struggled to speak before placing his card onto a Monster Zone on his Duel Disk. Appearing onto the field was a vacuum cleaner (Level: 1/ATK: 0/DEF: 0).
"You used 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' to suck up my own monster, leaving me without it," narrated Vincent.
The vacuum's hose turned to full power and began to suck up 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'. Before long, control of the plane-like monster went over to Flashback David (although it was really under the control of 'Morphtronic Vacuumen').
END FLASHBACK
The flashback ended.
"I activate 'Morphtronic Vacuumen's' Defense Position effect!" announced David, "Once per turn: I can target 1 face-up Attack Position monster my opponent controls; I must…" From there, as the effect was explained, 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' aimed its hose towards the humongous 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird' "…equip that target to this card! (I can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card by this effect,)" He announced his target, "I equip your 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird' to 'Morphtronic Vacuumen'!"
The vacuum's hose turned to full power and began to suck up 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird'. Before long, control of the bird-like monster went over to David (although it was really under the control of 'Morphtronic Vacuumen'). The only monsters Vincent controlled now were 'Dark Flattop' and 'Summon Reactor・SK'.
"It pisses me off so much," cursed Vincent.
"From my hand, I'll activate the Spell Card, 'Morphtronic Converter'!" continued David, holding up a card ('Morphtronic Converter') before slotting it into his Duel Runner. On cue, the mentioned Spell Card was shown to be face-up on the field, "I must target 1 Machine monster I control; I must apply the following effect depending on its battle position!"
These were the following effects written on the Spell Card in-question:
-"Attack Position: I must Special Summon 1 'Morphtronic' monster from my Deck with a different name than that targeted monster, then place that targeted monster on top of the Deck."
-"Defense Position: I must change that targeted monster to Attack Position, and if I do, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Machine monster from my hand."
Vincent gritted his teeth.
"That's right, I'll target 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' and change it into Attack Position," confirmed David, just as his 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' took to a more humanoid form (DEF: 0 → ATK: 0). He then took a card ('Morphtronic Celfon') from his hand, held it out, then placed it onto his Duel Runner, "Then I get to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Machine monster from my hand! I Special Summon 'Morphtronic Celfon' in Attack Position!"
Appearing onto the field was the familiar yellow cellphone monster, which turned itself into a humanoid robot (Level: 1/ATK: 100/DEF: 100).
"I activate 'Morphtronic Celfon's' Attack Position effect!" proclaimed David, as the dials on his monster's torso started blinking at random before slowing down, "Once per turn, during my Main Phase: I can roll a six-sided die, excavate that many cards from the top of my Deck, and if I do, Special Summon 1 excavated Level 4 or lower 'Morphtronic' monster, ignoring its Summoning conditions, also shuffle the rest into the Deck."
The roulette stopped on '6'.
"Six!" rejoiced David, drawing and revealing six of his cards—containing 'Morphtronic Engine', 'Morphtronic Staplen', 'Morphtronic Scopen', 'Morphtronic Impact Return', 'Morphtronic Remoten', and 'Junk Box', "Let's see… Ah ha! This 'one'!" He took the 'Morphtronic Remoten' Tuner Monster Card, readied it for a second or two, then placed it onto his Duel Runner, "I Special Summon the Tuner monster, 'Morphtronic Remoten', in Attack Position!"
Appearing on the field was the white remote-like monster, which turned itself into a humanoid robot (Level: 3/ATK: 300/DEF: 1200).
"Hey, Vincent!" called David, as Vincent looked over his shoulder and listened, "I think I 'will' give you back 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird'! I activate 'Morphtronic Vacuumen's' Attack Position effect!" As he explained the effect, 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' brought both hands to its hose and started charging something (an attack), "Once per turn: I can send 1 Equip Card equipped to this card to the GY; I must inflict 500 damage to my opponent!"
'Morphtronic Vacuumen' fired off an orb of fire ('Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird') towards The Beast, striking it and causing Vincent to shout in pain as he took some damage (LP: 4000 → 3500). Even after getting hit, Vincent seemed to smile from the pain.
"That was quite good, robo-boy!" he praised sarcastically, "That blow did hurt, but you've gotta have more than that, don't you?! Come on, hit me harder! Do you hear me?! HARDER!"
"Grr… Level 6 'Morphtronic Scannen' tunes Level 1 'Morphtronic Vacuumen'!" grunted David, while holding his right hand out.
'Morphtronic Scannen' turned into six Synchro Rings, which hovered over, lowered, and overwhelmed 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' while turning it into a single orb of light as a Summon Chant echoed throughout.
"Docking strength with courage to protect the earth's peace!" chanted David, as the symbols 1 + 6 = 7 were shown briefly just before the single orb of light within the six Synchro Rings turned into a massive beam of light, "Synchro Summon! Envoy of love and justice, 'Power Tool Dragon'!"
Appearing out of the beam of light was the yellow, robotic dragon (Level: 7/ATK: 2300/DEF: 2500).
"Oh, this brings back memories of us in school," recalled Vincent, "Before you won that tournament and got your hands on many new and better cards, 'Power Tool Dragon' was the only good card in your whole Deck!"
"I activate the Attack Position effect of 'Morphtronic Remoten'!" yelled David, ignoring the taunts from his opponent, "Once per turn: I can target 1 'Morphtronic' monster…" From the deep abyss of his GY, while explaining the effect further, the 'Morphtronic Vacuumen' Effect Monster Card emerged before fading away into oblivion, "…in my GY; I must banish that target, and if I do, add 1 'Morphtronic' monster with the same Level as the target…" He then took a card from his Deck and looked at it, "…from my Deck to my hand."
The card he took from his Deck was the 'Morphtronic Smartfon' Tuner Monster Card, a Level 1 monster. However, Vincent gritted his teeth into a sadistic smile.
"I know what you're aiming for… However, I won't give you the chance to Summon 'Life Stream Dragon'!" roared Vincent, as one of his Set cards materialized on the field in-front of The Beast, "I activate a Trap, 'Curse of the Circle'!" The Set card flipped face-up and revealed itself, "I must target 1 monster my opponent controls; my opponent cannot Tribute it, or use it as Synchro Material!"
David gasped, watching as 'Power Tool Dragon' got surrounded by a circle of sorts and ended up getting an electrical shock.
"'P-Power Tool'-!" worried David.
"Gwa ha ha ha ha ha! Now you can't use 'Power Tool' as Synchro Material!" cackled Vincent.
David scowled, knowing that Vincent was right. Still, he had other Synchro Monsters he could at least use, and one in particular…
"Level 3 'Morphtronic Remoten' tunes Level 1 'Morphtronic Celfon'!" commanded David.
'Morphtronic Remoten' turned into three Synchro Rings, which 'Morphtronic Celfon' soared into before becoming a single orb of light. The symbols 1 + 3 = 4 were shown briefly before the lone orb of light in the trio of Synchro Rings turned into a massive beam of light.
"Synchro Summon!" declared David, "Come, 'Morphtronic Earfon'!"
Appearing on the field, as the Synchro Summon sequence ended, were two mechanical earphone monsters. One resembled a boy, and the other resembled a girl—but they were still one and the same monster (Level: 4/ATK: 1200/DEF: 1800).
"I activate 'Morphtronic Earfon's' third effect!" As David spoke, his new monster suddenly shrunk themselves, floated over, and attached to 'Power Tool Dragon's' ears, "I can target 1 Synchro Monster on the field; I must equip this card from my field or GY to it!"
'Power Tool Dragon' let out a triumphant roar as it felt itself gaining a new power.
"There's more to your turn, isn't there?" quizzed Vincent.
"There is, and it's Morphtronic Earfon's' first effect!" admitted David, "While this card is an Equip Card, the equipped monster can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase! I also activate 'Power Tool Dragon's' first effect!" His Deck started shuffling by itself, "Power Search!" A card ejected from the center of the Deck, and he took hold of it, "Once per turn, during my Main Phase: I can add 1 random Equip Spell from my Deck to my hand."
David looked at the card, which was the 'Double Tool C&D' Spell Card. Nodding over how useful it would be, he decided to use it immediately.
"I activate the Equip Spell, 'Double Tool C&D'!" began David, swinging his right arm about and causing the mentioned Spell Card to materialize face-up on the field in-front of The Wild Card, "I must equip only to a 'Power Tool Dragon' or Level 4 or higher Machine 'Morphtronic' monster I control. While equipped…"
He went over two big effects written on the Spell Card in-question:
-"During my turn: The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK. If it attacks, I must negate the effects of the attack target during that Battle Phase!"
-"During my opponent's turn: My opponent's monsters cannot target monsters for attacks, except the equipped monster!"
From there, 'Power Tool Dragon' received another new power, causing its ATK to go up (ATK: 2300 → 3300).
"Here I come, Vincent! Battle!" howled David, entering his Battle Phase. As he gave a command to his ace monster, 'Power Tool Dragon' was already expecting an order to attack, "'Power Tool Dragon', attack 'Summon Reactor・SK' and 'Dark Flattop'! Crafty Break!"
In two quick, powerful strikes, both 'Summon Reactor・SK' and 'Dark Flattop' were hit and destroyed in a series of explosions. With the former's destruction, Vincent ended up losing more LP (LP: 3500 → 2200). Again, he wasn't upset over taking major damage.
"That attack of yours… I barely felt a thing," spluttered Vincent, "Can't you hurt me harder?!"
That left David looking a little confused, since he (David) knew Vincent had an explosive temper and was very prone to throwing tantrums whenever he (Vincent) started losing—yet here, he (again Vincent) seemed both calm and maniacal. Not wanting to wonder why that was the case, David resumed dueling—only for Vincent to make a move.
"I activate 'Dark Flattop's' second effect!" bellowed Vincent, just as a portal materialized on the field behind The Beast. Appearing from the portal and onto the field, was none other than 'Trap Reactor・Y FI' (Level: 4/ATK: 800/DEF: 1800), "If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY: I can Special Summon 1 Level 5 or lower Machine monster from my hand!"
"'Trap Reactor・Y FI'," realized David, while taking a card from his hand, "I Set one reverse card…" He slotted the card into his Duel Runner, causing a face-down card to materialize on the field in-front of The Wild Card before it faded away for later use, "…and end my turn! As of now, the ATK of 'Power Tool Dragon' returns to normal!"
'Power Tool Dragon's' ATK lowered back to its default value (ATK: 3300 → 2300).
"It's my turn!" exclaimed Vincent, drawing a card.
Once again, both players gained a Speed Counter:
-David: 1 → 2
-Vincent: 1 → 2
Turn Three: Vincent Stevens (LP: 2200)
Deck: 51
Current Hand (3): "Spell Reactor・RE", "Heavy Metal Raiders", and "Reactor Coating"
Speed Counters: 2
Vincent saw he drew his 'Reactor Coating' Trap Card.
"Don't forget, Vincent!" interrupted David, "It's your turn, now, which means 'Double Tool C&D' prevents you from targeting a monster other than the equipped monster as an attack target!"
"It's nothing to worry about," dismissed Vincent, before taking a card ('Spell Reactor・RE') from his hand, readying it, then placing it onto his Duel Runner, "From my hand, I'll Summon 'Spell Reactor・RE'!"
Appearing onto the field was the familiar red robotic creature that looked like a serpent/dragon with metallic claws for arms (Level: 3/ATK: 1200/DEF: 900).
"Face-down card, open! 'Reactor Assembly'!" continued Vincent, as his remaining Set card reappeared on the field in-front of The Beast, flipped face-up, and revealed itself, "If I control 2 'Reactor' monsters: I must Special Summon 1 'Reactor' monster from my hand, Deck, or GY!" A dark portal appeared, "Resurrect, 'Summon Reactor・SK'!"
Reappearing on the field from the portal, was 'Summon Reactor・SK' (Level: 5/ATK: 2000/DEF: 1400). Yet again, even when he wasn't dueling, David found himself confronted by 'Summon Reactor・SK', 'Trap Reactor・Y FI', and 'Spell Reactor・RE'.
"Not again!" thought David.
"It's time for my ultimate weapon to return!" laughed Vincent, "I activate 'Summon Reactor・SK's' third effect! I can send 1 face-up 'Trap Reactor・Y FI', 1 face-up 'Spell Reactor・RE', and this face-up card I control to the GY; I must Special Summon 1 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' from my hand, Deck, or GY!" His focus then went to his three monsters individually as they started glowing white, "'Summon Reactor', 'Trap Reactor', and 'Spell Reactor'! I send you each to the GY!"
'Summon Reactor・SK', 'Trap Reactor・Y FI', and 'Spell Reactor・RE' dissolved into specks of white dust…which floated into the sky. Vincent, meanwhile, had taken his favorite card ('Flying Fortress SKY FIRE') from his Deck and held it upward.
"Appear now," began Vincent, before slamming his card onto a Monster Zone on his Duel Runner, "'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'!"
As the light in the dark sky dimed, there, having made a reappearance, was the combined form of the three reactors. Again, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' was a massive, greenish gray-painted plane with two mechanical arms (Level: 8/ATK: 3000/DEF: 2500). David watched and gritted his teeth, knowing he was in for another fight for his life.
"If you're not gonna hurt me harder, then I'll just inflict even worse pain upon you!" raged Vincent, "I activate 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE's" first effect!" He sent a card ('Heavy Metal Raiders') to the GY, just as 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' aimed itself towards David's field, "Once per turn: I can send 1 card from my hand to the GY, then target 1 card my opponent controls; I must destroy that target! Death Drop!"
And 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' dropped a missile onto the face-up 'Double Tool C&D' Spell Card near The Wild Card. Upon hitting the ground, an explosion was left behind which destroyed David's card, much to his frustration and Vincent's amusement.
"Your best defense against an attack has been wiped out!" boasted Vincent, entering his Battle Phase, "This makes your 'Power Tool Dragon' easy pickings!" As he announced the attack name for his monster, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' fired off multiple missiles, "Death Air Raid!"
Rather than attack 'Power Tool Dragon', 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' was instead causing more and more destruction on the streets of Hartford, thus putting innocent people in grave danger. David watched in helpless anger as a flashback ensued.
FLASHBACK
Outside the geoglyph, the members of Team 6D's and a number of their friends were watching the duel, concerned where it was gonna go with Flashback Vincent in complete control thanks to his ace monster having appeared.
"I activate 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE's' first effect!" began Flashback Vincent, "Once per turn: I can send 1 card from my hand to the GY, then target 1 card my opponent controls; I must destroy that target!" He then eyed one of the helpless opponents, "Let's see…"
Flashback Gabriella tried to look brave, but she was scared Flashback Vincent would target her again. Sure enough…
"I choose to destroy your 'Wind-Up Knight', noob!" The voice of Flashback Vincent proclaimed, just as 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' let loose several missiles, "Take this! Sharp Shooting!"
The missiles approached 'Wind-Up Knight', but Flashback Gabriella decided to try saving her monster with one of her Set cards.
"Stop!" cried Flashback Gabriella, "I activate a Trap Card!" One of her Set cards flipped face-up and revealed itself, "'Zenmailstrom'! I must Tribute 1 'Wind-Up' monster with 1500 or more ATK; I must Special Summon 1 'Wind-Up' monster from my hand," As she explained the effect further, Flashback Vincent seemed to look annoyed with it (sort of), "then I can Special Summon 1 'Wind-Up' monster from my Deck with the same ATK as the monster Special Summoned by this effect."
"Pfft!" scoffed Flashback Vincent.
"From there, I Tribute 'Wind-Up Knight'," The voice of Flashback Gabriella went on, as her only monster faded away in a blue streak and caused the missiles from 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' to hit the ground harmlessly. She then took a card from her Deck, readied it with a card from her hand, and placed both of them onto her Duel Disk (sideways), "and Special Summon 'Wind-Up Dog' from my hand and 'Wind-Up Warrior' from my Deck! Both in Defense Position!"
Appearing on the field were two monsters; one was a mechanical wind-up dog toy-like monster (Level: 3/ATK: 1200/DEF: 900), and the other was a mechanical humanoid toy-like monster (Level: 4/ATK: 1200/DEF: 1800).
"Here I go! Battle!" declared Flashback Vincent, entering his Battle Phase, "'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'," As he continued speaking, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' unloaded more missiles and bombs, "rain destruction upon 'Wind-Up Warrior'!"
The missiles struck the ground around 'Wind-Up Warrior', causing it to rise into a battle ready position (DEF: 1800 → ATK: 1200).
"Thanks to 'Extreme Air Raider', your weak monster has been switched into Attack Position, where it will be easy pickings," taunted Flashback Vincent, just as 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' unleashed a second wave of missiles and bombs, "Time to take out the trash! Death Air Raid!"
"I will protect Gabriella from the likes of you with all my power!" cried Flashback Ashima, as her second face-down card flipped up and revealed itself, "I activate a Trap, 'Lyrilusc - Bird Roost'!"
"Ashima-neechan!" rejoiced Flashback Gabriella.
"During damage calculation," said Flashback Ashima, "if a player would take battle damage: I must send 1 'Lyrilusc' Xyz Monster I control to the GY, and if I do, neither player takes any battle damage from that battle, then, Special Summon in Defense Position, 'Lyrilusc' monsters…" As she spoke on, 'Lyrilusc - Ensemblue Robin' started glowing white all over as she started splitting apart, "…with different names from each other and the monster sent to the GY by this effect, up to the number of materials that were attached to the monster that was sent to the GY by this effect!"
The barrage of missiles and bombs struck the area around 'Wind-Up Warrior', destroying it. While Flashback Gabriella took no damage from the attack, the backlash from the real explosions left behind was still enough to throw her against the wall of ghostly fire.
"No! Gabriella!" yelled Flashback David in horror.
END FLASHBACK
The flashback ended.
"'This' is the same tactic he utilised last time," thought David, before seeing something ahead, "Incoming!"
A few stray missiles from 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE's' Death Air Raid came towards him, but 'Power Tool Dragon' intercepted and took the attack, getting destroyed as a result. The backlash of his monster's destruction caused David to shield himself with his right arm as his LP took another drop (LP: 1700 → 1000). Very quickly, however, he recovered and made a move.
"(罠、発動,) Torappu hatsudō, (Trap activate,) 'Armored Back'!" announced David in Japanese, before one of his Set cards materialized on the field, flipped face-up, and revealed itself as 'Power Tool Dragon' reappeared on the field and got energized with power—as a result of being equipped with 'Morphtronic Earfon', "When a monster I control equipped with an Equip Spell is destroyed: I must Special Summon that monster from the GY, and if I do, equip it with the Equip Card it was equipped with. It cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects this turn," He looked triumphant (somewhat), while Vincent looked annoyed (again somewhat), "With 'Power Tool Dragon' having been destroyed, it has been freed from the effect of 'Curse of the Circle', allowing it to be Tributed or used as Synchro Material once again."
"And that Equip Card you chose is 'Morphtronic Earfon'," remembered Vincent, "It's supposed to be a Synchro Monster, but can also be treated as an Equip Card," He then grinned, "Yeah, this is getting all the more interesting!"
David remains silent over that statement. Unknownst to him, there was a small part of his Duel Runner that was beeping a red light.
(elsewhere…)
Back in Orb's parking lot, a table, laptop, and medium-sized monitor had been brought out by Mr. Murdoch, Mr. Kisaka, and James R., and Zack was busy trying to get the laptop and monitor turned on and connected.
"How much longer?" asked Carlie.
"I was asked that five minutes ago," groaned Zack, "Listen, this is really delicate stuff! I don't know how long it'll take to connect, or if it even can be connected."
"Then let's just go see the action up close!" suggested Lisa.
"No, I forbid it, Lisa," refused Mr. Zimmerman, much to the pink-haired girl's dismay, "It's too dangerous."
And the discussion about it was dropped. Zack, meanwhile, with a few more codes typed in, finally turned on the monitor, revealing a scoreboard of the duel between David and Vincent. Currently, their respective LP gauges read David with 1000 LP, and Vincent with 2200 LP. This and more proved that someone had tampered with The Wild Card long before the duel went on.
"There!" rejoiced Matt.
"You did it, Zack!" added Shinji.
"Naturally," said Zack modestly, brushing off his hands, "Now let's see…" He started recapping what was on the monitor, "Dave has 1000 LP, and he controls 'Power Tool Dragon'—which is equipped with 'Morphtronic Earfon'. Vincent, on the other hand, has 2200 LP and controls 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'."
"It had to be 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'," complained Mayura.
"And it's been nothing but a royal pain for all of us," agreed Juri.
And that was agreed to.
(elsewhere…)
Back in the duel, David was busy looking at the monitor of The Wild Card, checking what was on his opponent's field.
"'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'…" thought David, "It's still as dangerous as ever, and with Vincent's reckless behavior…" He drew a card, "It's my turn!"
For a third time, both players gained a Speed Counter:
-David: 2 → 3
-Vincent: 2 → 3
Turn Four: David Xadashi (LP: 1000)
Deck: 49
Current Hand (2): "Morphtronic Smartfon" and "Parasomnia Pillow"
Speed Counters: 3
David's drawn card was a Spell Card called 'Parasomnia Pillow', but there was something else he needed…
"I activate 'Power Tool Dragon's' first effect again!" continued David, as his Deck shuffled by itself, "Power Search!"
A card slipped from the middle of the Deck, and David took hold and started looking at it. To his surprise, it was the 'Life Extreme' Spell Card.
"'Life Extreme'…" thought David, as faded clips of his and Lisa's duel against Tess and Daxter, along with the duel ending due to Jak's arrival, were superimposed over him, "The last time I played this card was when Lisa-chan and I faced Tess-san and Daxter-san… I never got to use its full power due to Jak-san stopping the match," The clips ended, and he narrowed his eyes, "But this time, I'll use it to the best of my ability."
"Well, robo-boy? I'm waiting for your big move," mocked Vincent.
"Here I come," accepted David, just as a card ('Morphtronic Remoten') ejected from his GY and faded away into oblivion, "I banish 'Morphtronic Remoten' from my GY!" He then readied another card ('Morphtronic Smartfon') in his right hand, "This enables me to Special Summon…" The aqua blue-haired boy placed his card onto a Monster Zone on his Duel Runner, "…the Tuner monster, 'Morphtronic Smartfon'!"
Appearing on the field was a large smartphone-like robot, which immediately turned humanoid (Level: 1/ATK: 100/DEF: 100).
"You seem to never learn sense!" thundered Vincent, "I activate 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE's' second effect!" As he explained the effect, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' reloaded its ammo and looked towards 'Morphtronic Smartfon', "Once during each of my opponent's turns, when my opponent Normal or Special Summons a monster: I must target that monster; I must destroy it, and if I do, inflict 800 damage to my opponent!" He then gave the order, "Sharp Shooting!"
And missiles were fired, striking the area around 'Morphtronic Smartfon' and hitting The Wild Card at the same time. David grunted in pain, but held on even as his LP fell to critical levels (LP: 1000 → 200).
(elsewhere…)
Back in Orb's parking lot, the monitor still displayed the scores for both players, but David lost 'Morphtronic Smartfon' and his LP fell to a measly 200.
"Damn…" growled Michael.
"Dave…" came from Juri.
"Okay, that's it," Lisa muttered unhappily, losing her patience, before turning towards her nearby Duel Runner, "I'm heading out."
Everyone watched as Lisa approached and climbed aboard Akatsuki, put on her helmet, and did a quick systems check.
"Lisa, you heard what the headmaster said, you're not allowed to leave Orb at this time!" reminded Mr. Kisaka.
"Shut up!" The voice of Lisa barked, which made Mr. Kisaka flinch. She looked like she was not about to stand for any nonsense, "I don't care if I get caught in the crossfire; Dave's my friend, boyfriend, and I'm going to help him, whether you like it or not!"
With that said, she closed her helmet's faceplate, revved up Akatsuki, and drove out of the area even as the three Astray girls called out for her to return to no avail.
(elsewhere…)
Back somewhere in the geoglyph-covered city, The Beast and The Wild Card both raced through an underpass as the duel kept on going.
"I activate a Trap, 'Reactor Coating'!" declared Vincent, his remaining Set card was already shown to be face-up on the field, "I must target 1 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' or 1 'Reactor' monster I control; I must equip this card to that target. It cannot be destroyed by battle!"
A reflective coating formed on the body of 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', making it look shiny and able to reflect almost anything.
"Remember this card, robo-boy?" cracked Vincent, as David listened with agony, "Back when that &$# girl and 'Indian slave girl' dueled me."
A flashback ensued.
FLASHBACK
During the duel, 'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh' had just been supercharged with power. Outside the wall of fire…
"Ooooooh yeah!" rejoiced Flashback James R., punching the air with his right fist before doing the bicep-polishing gesture, "Now Gabriella can take down Vincent's 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' lickity split—she'll even take a big bite out of his LP at the same time!"
"Don't be so sure," said Flashback Carlie sternly, which caused Flashback James R. to look at her in an eased up sort of way. She then explained her reason for why she pointed that out, "Gabriella might have the monster advantage, but Vincent is obviously waiting for her to attack because he has something hidden in the wings."
"Oh yeah… There's that, and there's also 'Heavy Metal Raiders'," worried Flashback James R..
"Battle!" The voice of Flashback Gabriella announced, entering her Battle Phase.
Flashback James R. looked freaked out when he heard that. Back in the geoglyph, Flashback Gabriella was ready to take down 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', but she never considered the fact Vincent might be wanting her to attack him—and Flashback Ashima and Flashback David both knew this as they respectively shouted a warning.
"Gabriella! Watch what you're doing!" wailed Flashback Ashima.
"It's a trap!" put in Flashback David.
Alas…
"'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh', attack 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'!" commanded Flashback Gabriella recklessly.
'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh' posed with his lance and began charging an attack to wipe out 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'—but Flashback Vincent started to laugh triumphantly.
"That's great! Really great!" he boasted, "I've been waiting for an attack to come my way!"
"Huh?!" gasped Flashback Gabriella.
"Best of all," rambled Flashback Vincent, "it came from someone like you, you pipsqueak!" He then pressed a button on his Duel Disk, "Ready? Then here's my surprise!"
His remaining face-down card flipped face-up and revealed itself.
"That card?!" panicked Flashback Lisa.
"(しまった!) Shimatta! (Oh no!)" cried Flashback David in Japanese.
"The Trap Card, 'Reactor Coating'!" announced Flashback Vincent, "I must target 1 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' or 1 'Reactor' monster I control; I must equip this card to that target. It cannot be destroyed by battle."
Flashback Gabriella recoiled, watching as a reflective coating formed on the body of 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', making it look shiny and able to reflect almost anything. Meanwhile, the energy blast on the lance of 'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh' had finished charging and was fired at 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', striking it hard and causing Flashback Vincent to get pushed back while taking immense damage (LP: 4000 → 1800). Despite being hit like that, he only giggled viciously because everything was falling into place.
"The first effect of 'Heavy Metal Raiders'!" Flashback Vincent went on, "The first time each DARK Machine monster I control would be destroyed by battle each turn, it is not destroyed, and if I took battle damage from that battle," From there, as he spoke on, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' got even stronger from the damage sustained (ATK: 3000 → 5200), "it gains that much ATK after damage calculation, and keeps that ATK gain as long as this card is on the field."
"5200 ATK!" recoiled Flashback Mayura.
Back in the geoglyph, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' started readying all of its weaponry for an attack of its own in retaliation to being hit.
"The second effect of 'Reactor Coating'!" proclaimed Flashback Vincent, "After damage calculation, if the equipped monster battled an opponent's monster: I must destroy that opponent's monster, and if I do, inflict damage to my opponent equal to half of the destroyed monster's ATK."
"(何?!) Nani?! (What?!)" exclaimed Flashback Gabriella in Japanese.
Outside the wall of fire, everyone else watched in horror at what was about to occur.
"'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh' has 5200 ATK, and Gabriella will take 2600 ATK as damage!" remembered Flashback Juri.
"Don't forget one detail!" The voice of Flashback Vincent added.
The intelligent, dark blue-haired young woman gasped. Inside the geoglyph, Flashback Vincent was looking more and more gleeful by the minute as he explained the main purpose of the whole duel.
"This is a special Dark Duel," explained Flashback Vincent, "You know, where the damage inflicts real pain," He smiled sadistically, "Riddle me this; what would happen if a 6-year old takes an attack worth 2600 damage in a duel where said damage is reality? The answer is really easy… it's death," Flashback Gabriella and Flashback Ashima both listened as they grew more and more afraid of what was to come, "I don't need my 'Earthbound Immortal' to take any lives, seeing as this will work just fine!" As the command to attack was given, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' took aim at its targets, "'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', fire all your weapons at 'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh' and the &$# girl!"
And 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' fired off countless missiles towards 'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh' and Flashback Gabriella—who was so terrified she couldn't speak or scream. As mentioned, if the attack were to be successful, Gabriella would not only lose, but she would also die from the impact.
"GABRIELLAAAAAAAA!" screamed Flashback David, thinking this was the end of his younger sister.
END FLASHBACK
The flashback ended.
"She was warned not to attack, yet she decided to be an idiot and strike me!" said Vincent cruelly, "She believed she could destroy 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' with an empowered 'Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh', but all she ended up with was a good dose of reality and death!" He then added in a mocking manner, "And where was her 'big strong brother' when she needed him, hmm?"
By bringing those horrible memories up, Vincent was really beginning to anger David, but he (David) still tried holding on and not giving Vincent what he (Vincent) seemingly wanted. With that thought on hand, David resumed his turn.
"From my hand, I'll equip 'Power Tool' with 'Life Extreme'!" he began, slotting a card into his Duel Runner.
"What? 'Life Extreme'?" blinked Vincent.
'Power Tool Dragon' found itself getting energized with new power, and Vincent had no idea on how to react to it.
"I must equip only to an EARTH Synchro Monster," revealed David, as some of his focus went towards 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', "If the equipped monster battles an opponent's monster, the opponent's monster loses 1500 ATK during that damage calculation only," To prove it, he entered the Battle Phase, "Go forth, 'Power Tool Dragon'!" While announcing the attack name, 'Power Tool Dragon' flew into battle, "Crafty Break!"
Due to an attack being declared, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' got weaker (ATK: 3000 → 1500), 'Power Tool Dragon' then struck the coated monster, seemingly not scratching it.
"Due to being equipped with 'Reactor Coating', 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' is not destroyed!" rejoiced Vincent.
'Power Tool Dragon' flew away from 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'.
"(ダガ、ダメージは受けるもらう!) Daga, damēji wa ukeru morau! (But you'll still take the damage!)" noted David in Japanese.
Vincent shut his eyes and grimaced as he glowed red and lost LP from the attack (LP: 2200 → 1400). And with the Damage Step being over, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' regained its lost ATK (ATK: 1500 → 3000). However, when he opened his eyes, Vincent looked practically psychotic by now, because he (Vincent) needed David to attack him (again Vincent).
"Now that I was attacked, you have sealed your own fate!" yelled Vincent madly, "The second effect of 'Reactor Coating' activates!" As he explained the effect, 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE's' body seemed to be charging an attack of sorts before firing off a multi-colored beam towards David's whole field, "After damage calculation, if the equipped monster battled an opponent's monster: I must destroy that opponent's monster, and if I do, inflict damage to my opponent equal to half of the destroyed monster's ATK!"
When it looked like it was all over for 'Power Tool Dragon' and David…
"It's not over!" insisted David, holding up his 'Life Extreme' Spell Card, "I activate 'Power Tool's' second effect!" As he explained the effect, 'Power Tool Dragon' released the spirit of the Equip Spell it had on and used it to block the attack by 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', "If this card would be destroyed while equipped with an Equip Spell(s), I can send 1 of those cards to the GY instead!"
"How laughable!" scoffed Vincent, "You'd get rid of a really rare card like 'Life Extreme' just to save 'Power Tool' from destruction?"
"It's not laughable; it's part of my strategy," retorted David, making Vincent ease up, "Getting rid of 'Life Extreme'…unleashes its true power!"
"What?!" gasped Vincent, "The true power of 'Life Extreme'?"
"The third effect of 'Life Extreme'!" began David, as his 'Life Extreme' Spell Card sank into his GY, "If this card is sent from the Spell & Trap Zone to the GY: I can Tribute 1 'Power Tool' Synchro Monster; I must…" He then held up a card ('Life Stream Dragon') taken from his Extra Deck, "…Special Summon 1 'Life Stream Dragon' from my Extra Deck. (This is treated as a Synchro Summon.)"
"'Life Stream Dragon'!?" Vincent squealed in rage.
To prove David's point, he carefully motioned his right arm about and made his Mark of the Dragon (Heart) glow as the Crimson Dragon appeared in the sky.
"Th-The Crimson…Dragon!" stammered Vincent.
The Crimson Dragon swooped down harmlessly and swallowed up 'Power Tool Dragon' before rising back into the sky. From there, a Summon Chant from David commenced.
"The courage and power to protect the future of the planet is a revolution!" chanted David, as 'Power Tool Dragon', still within the Crimson Dragon, began glowing in light as its metallic shell began to crack, "Synchro Summon! Evolve, 'Life Stream Dragon'!"
The Crimson Dragon breathed out a large fireball, which dissolved back into 'Power Tool Dragon'. All of a sudden, its body armor started breaking away, giving the dragon a more flesh and blood-like appearance—although it retained the chisel-like weapon that 'Power Tool Dragon' had on its left arm. Now on the field, 'Life Stream Dragon' stretched its arms out and let loose a roar to signal its arrival (Level: 8/ATK: 2900/DEF: 2400).
(elsewhere…)
In another part of Hartford, Lisa was staying near the wall of fire in an attempt to search for the duel. Along the way, she found a good amount of damage and people attempting to clean up, but still no duel between David and Vincent. She then heard a loud roar from the sky. Looking up, the pink-haired girl saw the Crimson Dragon, which then faded away. With a new lead, Lisa revved up Akatsuki and started heading in the direction the Crimson Dragon appeared to be in.

Back in Orb's parking lot, the group was overjoyed that David finally brought out 'Life Stream Dragon'.
"This is great!" whooped James R..
"Dave's back in the game!" put in Shinji.
"But not 'completely'," cut in Sherry sternly, causing some eyes to go towards her, "An ATK of 2900 can't beat a monster with 3000 ATK and equipped with a broken card like 'Reactor Coating'."
"She's right," groaned James R., looking at Shinji.
"What will Dave do?" Shinji said back, looking at James R..

Back in the duel…
"I activate 'Life Stream Dragon's' first effect!" announced David, "When this card is Synchro Summoned: I can make my LP become 4000," He started glowing all gold, "Damage Shutter!"
From there, he closed his eyes and took in the pleasing effect as his LP was refilled (LP: 200 → 4000). Vincent was annoyed by this, but, at the same time, wasn't really angry. It helped that 'Life Stream Dragon' was still weaker than 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'. Unfortunately, David was far from being done in preparing for his big counterattack.
"Once again, I'll activate the third effect of 'Morphtronic Earfon'!" exclaimed David, as 'Morphtronic Earfon' reappeared on the field, shrunk themselves, floated over, and attached to 'Life Stream Dragon's' ears, "I can target 1 Synchro Monster on the field; I must equip this card from my field or GY to it!"
"This is no counterattack! You still can't beat 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'!" argued Vincent.
"Not without this!" retorted David, before holding up another card (without showing what it was) before turning it ('Parasomnia Pillow') over and revealing what it was, "The Equip Spell, 'Parasomnia Pillow'!"
'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' suddenly found itself surrounded by fluffy pillows.
"What kind of card is this supposed to be?!" spat Vincent in disgust.
"It's a card that's gonna bust your monster's ass, that's what!" A familiar female voice answered.
David was surprised by the voice and looked over his shoulder, seeing a golden colored Duel Runner following from behind outside the geoglyph. To that end, he focused on the road ahead and pressed a button on The Wild Card's dashboard, causing a small image of Lisa to appear in the bottom left corner of the screen.
"Lisa-chan, what, in your words, the hell are you doing here?" A surprised and worried David demanded, "You shouldn't be out here! Get back to Orb where everyone else is! It's too dangerous!"
"And let you face that bastard Vincent on your own? I'll leave you alone when Hell freezes over!" The image of Lisa refused, while David listened, "You need me to support you in this fight, and you know it. Now, do me a favor; get back in there, and kick his sorry ass!"
Realizing how bullheaded Lisa could be, David sighed in defeat and hoped he wouldn't regret it.
"Alright, you made your point," he accepted, "By now I should know better than to attempt to dissuade you from anything."
The image of Lisa smirked and nodded.
"I enter my End Phase," proclaimed David, "This, in turn, activates the first effect of 'Parasomnia Pillow'!" He grinned as Vincent looked confused, "You might want to see what's happening to 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'."
"Why, what's it gonna do? Polish its nails and put its hair in curlers for a slumber party?" remarked Vincent in a sarcastic way. But his brand of humor ground to a halt when he looked at his monster, "W-What the-?!"
The pillows surrounding 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' started making the mechanical monster burst into various explosions before going *BOOM!* for real.
"During the End Phase: I can destroy the equipped monster," explained David.
"Meaning your monster has been sent to the junkyard!" concluded Lisa proudly.
(elsewhere…)
In Orb's parking lot…
"Dave did it again!" cheered Mayura, punching her right fist upward.
"And there's more," smirked Michael, "Without 'Dark Flattop', Vincent can no longer revive 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE'!"
"That isn't all," cut in Carlie, "There's also the second effect of 'Parasomnia Pillow'," She started going over the second effect of David's card, with an enlarged version of it looming in the background behind her, "If this card is sent to the GY because the equipped monster was destroyed and sent to the GY: Special Summon 1 'Parasomnia Token' with the equipped monster's original Type, Attribute, and ATK, then equip this card to that Token."
"Dang, that's really powerful," blinked Asagi.
"I think it should be smooth sailing from here, right?" tempted Shinji.
"I wouldn't go tempting fate like that if I were you," warned Zack, "Those who often think things can't get much worse end up in an even bigger fix—and that includes people who think or say 'What could possibly go wrong?', variations and stuff."
(elsewhere…)
Back on the streets of Hartford, as Carlie explained to her friends, a large, living animal pillow materialized on the field (Level: 1/ATK: 3000/DEF: 0). It then got surrounded by fluffy pillows like 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' did.
"See there, Vincent?" called David, annoying Vincent slightly, "When the monster equipped with 'Parasomnia Pillow' is destroyed, I get to Special Summon a 'Parasomnia Token' with the same Type, Attribute, and ATK as the destroyed monster."
"Since 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' was destroyed, Dave's 'Parasomnia Token' has 3000 ATK!" bragged Lisa, "Speaking of 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE', I don't think you have any other way of…" Vincent now had his head lowered, shadowing his eyes as he listened to her taunting, "…bringing your ultimate monster back since I don't see 'Dark Flattop' on the field!" She smirked cheekily, "Without those two monsters of yours, you're just a sad, pathetic duelist who has to rely on a meaningless title you made up just to feel better about yourself!"
She then heard quiet chuckling of sorts.
"Hm? What the hell?" pondered Lisa.
Not even close to being angry over the loss of his monsters, Vincent was busy snickering quietly to himself before raising his head, dispelling the shadow over his eyes, and bursting into loud, long, hysterical laughter at how naive Lisa seemed to be about the duel.
"Do you two honestly believe 'Flying Fortress SKY FIRE' and 'Dark Flattop' are my two ultimate cards?" asked Vincent slowly.
"Um… kinda?" peeped Lisa.
"You're wrong!" ranted Vincent, "Yes, they're extremely powerful, but I have something that's even 'more' worthy than them!" He looked towards his Deck, "It's sleeping in my Deck, and all it needs…" While he (Vincent) bragged and raved on, David continued to listen to what else his (David) enemy was saying, "…are the souls of a couple hundred or more stupid people trapped in the geoglyph to be appeased and to appear!"
"(まさか!) Masaka! (This can't be!)" cried David in Japanese.
"Crap! That's the 'Earthbound Immortal'!" panicked Lisa, but managed to be reassured because Vincent likely didn't have the card in his hand, "But just because you have it in your Deck, doesn't mean you'll draw it."
"She's right," agreed David, feeling at ease but remaining very cautious about it all, "Plus you have no more monsters…" His (David) focus went towards Vincent's empty field, " …on your field. Everyone knows that Level 10 monsters require two Tributes to bring out, which you currently don't have."
"Don't bet on it, you two," rebutted Vincent, before drawing a card, "It's my turn!"
This caused both players gained a Speed Counter:
-David: 3 → 4
-Vincent: 3 → 4
Turn Five: Vincent Stevens (LP: 1400)
Deck: 49
Current Hand (1): "Reactor Smelting"(!)
Speed Counters: 4
Upon seeing his drawn card, Vincent grinned with anticipation.
"My hand might be practically empty, but this card will be the start to changing that," When those words left his mouth, Vincent slotted the card into his Duel Runner, "I activate the Spell Card, 'Reactor Smelting'!"
The mentioned Spell Card materialized face-up on the field to the left of The Beast.
"If I control no monsters: I must…" explained Vincent, as he held up three cards ('Summon Reactor・SK', 'Trap Reactor・Y FI', and 'Spell Reactor・RE') taken from his GY—until they faded away a second-and-half later, "…banish up to 1 each 'Summon Reactor・SK', 'Trap Reactor・Y FI', and/or 'Spell Reactor・RE' from my hand and/or GY; I must…" He drew three new cards, "…draw the same number of cards I banished!"
The three cards were 'Brilliant Shrine Art' (Trap Card), 'Jury-Rigged Reactor'(!) (Spell Card), and 'Final Offguard' (Spell Card). The last of which was another step to getting what Vincent needed.
"Next, I'll activate the Spell Card, 'Final Offguard'!" declared Vincent, as the mentioned Spell Card materialized on the field in-front of The Beast. His focus then went towards 'Life Stream Dragon' and 'Parasomnia Token', "If my LP are lower than my opponent's and only my opponent controls a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck: I must…" He drew two more cards, one-by-one, "…draw 2 cards."
Both cards were 'Ultimate Earthbound Immortal' (Trap Card) and 'Earthbound Immortal Allqu'(!) (Effect Monster Card).
"Damn… That lousy Vincent's refreshed most of his hand," grumbled Lisa.
"Relax, Lisa-chan. Even if Vincent draws the 'Earthbound Immortal', he controls no monsters, remember?" David pointed out.
"How wrong you are," disagreed Vincent, before readying another card ('Jury-Rigged Reactor') in-between the index and middle fingers of his right hand, "From my hand, I'll activate a Spell Card!" He slotted the card into his Duel Runner, "'Jury-Rigged Reactor'!"
Reappearing on the field in a defensive stance was both 'Trap Reactor・Y FI' (Level: 4/ATK: 800/DEF: 1800) and 'Spell Reactor・RE' (Level: 3/ATK: 1200/DEF: 900).
"No way! Both 'Trap Reactor・Y FI' and 'Spell Reactor・RE' are back?!" flinched Lisa.
"If my LP are lower than my opponent's: I must target 2 of my Level 4 or lower 'Reactor' monsters that are banished; I must Special Summon them in Defense Position," As Vincent went on about his Spell Card's effect, the stats of 'Trap Reactor・Y FI' (ATK: 800 → 0/DEF: 1800 → 0) and 'Spell Reactor・RE' (ATK: 1200 → 0/DEF: 900 → 0) became zilch, nothing, "but their effects are negated, their ATK/DEF become 0, also they cannot be used as material for a Special Summon."
(elsewhere…)
Back in Orb's parking lot, everyone was greatly disturbed that Vincent had two monsters on his field, which meant that the 'Earthbound Immortal' monster was most certainly coming.
"Oh, Lisa… This is why I didn't want her going out there," sighed Mr. Zimmerman, "While being a Signer would spare her from having her soul taken if she were inside the geoglyph, she is still vulnerable to collateral damage."
"Headmaster Zimmerman…" whispered Ms. Simmons.
Matt looked towards Michael, James R., and Carlie, who nodded at him, causing him to nod back before making an announcement.
"Which is why we're heading over there," proclaimed Matt.
"What?!" cried Shinji.
"Absolutely not!" protested Asagi.
"Asagi, you should know that this is the duty of the Signers," reminded Michael.
"We're to battle the Dark Signers and defeat them," added Carlie.
"Lisa and David are about to go up against an 'Earthbound Immortal', and we've all seen just how terrifying and powerful those creatures are," came from James R., before clenching his left hand into a fist, "Megan… Discord… Sean… Janice… Elsworth… They lost either their lives or souls to the Dark Signers, and we have to beat them in order to bring everyone back and keep this world safe."
"You're right…" confessed Mr. Zimmerman, "Just please ensure that Lisa returns here safely."
Matt nodded in response, making it a promise. Soon after that, the remaining Signers climb aboard their respective Duel Runners (Matt: Fudo Go, Michael: Wheel of Fortune, James R.: Blackbird, Carlie: Bloody Kiss), put on their helmets, and raced out of the parking lot as the rest of the group watched and prayed for everyone's safe return.
(elsewhere…)
Back on the streets of Hartford, David and Lisa were looking anxious over what would happen next now that Vincent controlled two monsters. Vincent, meanwhile, was another story entirely…
"I've been waiting for this moment for so long," thought Vincent, "Not since robo-boy defeated me twice—at school, and in New York City!"
A pair of flashbacks ensued.
FLASHBACK
Flashback David was engaging Flashback Vincent in the final battle of the school tournament, and he just Synchro Summoned 'Life Stream Dragon' for the first time ever.
"You won't win!" snarled Flashback Vincent, trying to deny the reality in-front of him, "Although your monster is stronger I'll admit, I can still win against the likes of you!"
"Then observe as I activate a Spell Card from my hand!" Flashback David went on, before holding a card out. While speaking on, he then sent the 'Morphtronic Magnen' Effect Monster Card from his hand to the GY, "'Morphtronic Repair Unit'! I must send 1 'Morphtronic' monster from my hand to the GY, then target 1 'Morphtronic' monster in my GY; I must Special Summon the targeted monster and equip it with this card."
On cue, 'Morphtronic Staplen' reappeared on the field (Level: 4/ATK: 1400/DEF: 1000).
"I have chosen to Special Summon 'Morphtronic Staplen'," explained Flashback David, "The equipped monster cannot change its Battle Position. When 'Morphtronic Repair Unit' leaves the field, I must destroy the equipped monster."
"It's useless!" shouted Flashback Vincent, shaking his head in denial, "Your efforts and struggles aren't going to save you! I'm the 'Level-up King'! I'm always destined to win against not only you, but everyone else in this school!"
"My apologies, self-proclaimed 'King', but you're about to be dethroned!" David retorted, poking a button on his Duel Disk, "I still have one remaining Set card to show you, and I've been saving it for this exact moment," His Set card flipped face-up and revealed itself to be… "Trap Card, 'Power-Up Adapter', activate!"
Vincent's face twisted with total horror upon seeing what his opponent activated; he knew what that Trap Card did.
"I must target 1 face-up 'Morphtronic' monster I control and 1 other monster I control; I must equip the targeted 'Morphtronic' monster with this card," explained David, "The equipped monster cannot attack, also the other targeted monster gains ATK equal to the ATK of the equipped monster."
Appearing onto the field was a large adapter, which aimed itself at 'Morphtronic Staplen' before beginning to electrically charge it.
"And now," David went on, pointing from 'Morphtronic Staplen' towards 'Life Stream Dragon', "I want 'Life Stream Dragon' to accept the power boost of 1400 ATK!"
From there, 'Morphtronic Staplen' started releasing the power it was charged with, directing it onto 'Life Stream Dragon' and causing the new Dragon-Type Tuner Synchro Monster to grow even more powerful than it already was (ATK: 2900 → 4300).
"As you can see, 'Life Stream Dragon' is now only still able to take down 'Dark Strike Fighter'," proclaimed David, "but your LP will not be able to withstand the attack!"
"This is absurd!" scowled Vincent, unable to believe he was about to be defeated by some loser, "Stop screwing with me!" In the sky, 'Life Stream Dragon' stared down at him with disdain, "I can't be defeated by somebody like you! I just can't!"
"There's a first time for everything!" joked David, before growing serious, "In all honesty, I've been longing for a great while to knock you down a peg, and now my chance has finally come!" He, as his Signer Mark started glowing, entered the Battle Phase, "'Life Stream Dragon' will attack 'Dark Strike Fighter'!"
'Life Stream Dragon' took to the skies as its wings started glowing all gold. Finally, the attack name was given…
"Life's Beauty Howl!" commanded David.
With that said, 'Life Stream Dragon' breathed an extremely powerful blast of golden energy; not once, not twice, but three times in a row! The powerful attack soon struck and overwhelmed both 'Dark Strike Fighter' and Vincent.
"RRRRRGH!" cried Vincent, bracing himself from the power of the supercharged Life's Beauty Howl attack.
At last, 'Dark Strike Fighter' exploded from destruction. The force from the attack then became too much for Vincent to withstand, and he was sent flying back whilst screaming in pain and dread. The audience watched in amazement, while Vincent's friends only watched in dismay. When the smoke finally cleared on the duel field, Vincent was shown lying on the ground in complete and utter defeat.
"Impossible…" The spiky black-haired boy groaned, as his LP finally dropped to 0 (LP: 600 → 0), "Me, the 'Level-up King', lose?"
(new scene…)
In their duel inside a warehouse within New York City, Flashback Vincent continued to smile, wanting to see his opponent squirm and beg for mercy before being defeated. However, Flashback David was not squirming at all; rather, he was smiling as well, taking another card from his hand.
"You see, I have one more card capable of bringing back my banished monster," confessed Flashback David, before he turned the card over and revealed it to be… "'Synchro Return'!"
"Oh, bollocks!" swore Flashback Vincent, using an Irish/British expletive referring to the testicles, "Not that card!"
On cue, the 'Synchro Return' Spell Card materialized face-up on David's field.
"I must target 1 banished Synchro Monster: I must Special Summon it to my field, but banish it during the End Phase of this turn," explained Flashback David, "Of course, there is only one monster I need to pick and use…" He raised his right hand into the air, "…and that's 'Power Tool Dragon'!"
From there, a portal formed near the warehouse ceiling, which reopened and 'Power Tool Dragon' flew out and returned to the field (Level: 7/ATK: 2300/DEF: 2500).
"The advantage is mine once again, Vincent!" hollered Flashback David, before giving the ultimate command, "My Level 1 'Morphtronic Smartfon' tunes Level 7 'Power Tool Dragon'!"
'Power Tool Dragon' zipped into the sky (or near the ceiling of the warehouse), while 'Morphtronic Smartfon' turned itself into a single Synchro Ring. As that was going on, Flashback David began a Summon Chant…
"The courage and power to protect the future of the planet is a revolution!" chanted Flashback David.
'Power Tool Dragon' flew into the single Synchro Ring, turning into seven orbs of light in the process. During which, the symbols 7 + 1 = 8 were shown. Pretty soon, the seven orbs turned into a massive beam of light as something happened within it.
"Synchro Summon!" thundered Flashback David, "Evolve, 'Life Stream Dragon'!"
Within the beam of light, 'Power Tool Dragon's' mechanical body became flesh and blood—although it retained the chisel-like weapon that 'Power Tool Dragon' had on its left arm. Now emerging from the beam and flying through the whole warehouse, 'Life Stream Dragon' soon stopped in midair to pose for battle (Level: 8/ATK: 2900/DEF: 2400).
"With 'Life Stream's' arrival, comes the final end of your crimes!" continued Flashback David, as his LP became replenished (LP: 500 → 4000), "The first effect activates… When this card is Synchro Summoned: I can make my LP become 4000. And for the second effect… I take no effect damage."
Scared witless, Flashback Vincent looked as though he pooped himself (even though he did not). Quickly though, he recovered and thought he could hold off 'Life Stream Dragon' and win the duel this time around. However…
"I know what you're thinking," The voice of Flashback David cut in, causing Flashback Vincent to look up. The aqua blue-haired boy was shaking his head scornfully, "However, I'm afraid the duel is about to end in your defeat."
"My defeat?" repeated Flashback Vincent.
"My last card!" From there, Flashback David made the 'Dragon's Tranquil Barrage' Spell Card materialize face-up on the field behind 'Life Stream Dragon', "Equip Spell, 'Dragon's Tranquil Barrage', activate!"
"What?!" wailed Flashback Vincent, "That's a card I've never seen before!"
"It's a very rare and powerful card," explained Flashback David, "I must equip only to a Level 8 or higher Dragon Synchro Monster. The equipped monster can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each, during each Battle Phase, it must attack the monster with the highest ATK. When it battles an opponent's monster, it gains ATK equal to half of its current ATK during damage calculation only."
Now Flashback Vincent was really scared; with 'Life Stream Dragon' able to attack all of his monsters AND gain ATK equal to its current ATK, his loss was all guaranteed. All he could do about it right now, was let out a scream of rage.
"Battle!" declared Flashback David, entering the Battle Phase at long last, "'Life Stream Dragon', begin your final attack upon Vincent-kun's monsters!"
'Life Stream Dragon' roared and began charging its signature attack. Now at the Damage Step, it then gained ATK based on half of its current ATK (LP: 2900 → 4350).
"Life's Beauty Howl!" The voice of Flashback David commanded.
'Life Stream Dragon' obeyed, firing its charged attack, overwhelming 'Ancient Flamvell Deity' first (it had the highest ATK), and then overwhelming 'Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird'. Finally, both enemy monsters exploded massively. While Flashback David was able to brace himself and stay on his feet from the backlash of the explosions, Flashback Lisa, still tied up to her chair, was accidentally knocked over. Flashback Vincent, meanwhile, was shown trying to brace himself and stay on his feet despite the powerful backlash, but was eventually thrown across the area as he yelled in defeat and his LP finally ran out (LP: 900 → 0).
END FLASHBACK
The pair of flashbacks ended, and Vincent, smiling insanely, finally spoke aloud.
"The time has finally come for me to get my revenge!" shrieked Vincent gleefully, "I Tribute 'Trap Reactor・Y FI' and 'Spell Reactor・RE'!"
Both 'Trap Reactor・Y FI' and 'Spell Reactor・RE' turned into colorful balls of light before rising towards the geoglyph in the sky. On cue, the area started shaking itself to pieces, which David and Lisa felt respectively. Vincent was not done, however.
"Great beast of the underworld! Let loose your earth-shattering howl, and rock this world to its core!" chanted Vincent, before holding up the card ('Earthbound Immortal Allqu') he wanted to use for so long, "Advent, 'Earthbound Immortal Allqu'!"
In a repeat performance of the same nightmare from Azrael and Discord's duel not that long ago, a large heart appeared from the geoglyph in the sky, ready to eat up the unfortunate souls trapped inside the geoglyph.
"Vincent, think about what you're doing!" begged David, trying his hardest to reason with his (David) insane enemy in hopes he (Vincent) would reconsider, "If you do this, you'll cross a line where there's no coming back from!"
"You're telling me I'd be crossing a line?" repeated Vincent.
"Yes! You'll cross the line, you dumbass!" snapped Lisa, as a few faded stills of Vincent's most heinous actions were superimposed over her one image at a time, "Kidnapping me in New York City, dying and being reborn as a complete psycho, sending Gabriella to the hospital, almost killing Ashima, and now 'mass murdering'!? Do you not see how insane that is?!"
Vincent was silent about that, but then his mouth…formed another sinister smile as he made his final decision on whether to continue with his actions or stop altogether. That decision was…
"O mighty 'Earthbound Immortal'! I offer up countless souls for you to absorb!" prayed Vincent, as he looked up towards the heart in the sky, "Come to feast on these worthless lives!"
From there, the many trapped citizens cried out as they were turned into balls of light, and forcefully pulled into the heart, causing it to slowly beat and release streams of darkness. The horrified David and Lisa both couldn't believe Vincent did what he did without hesitation or a care in the world—this was a further sign he'd jumped so far off the slippery slope. It got worse when the heart in the sky exploded with dark energy, and the flame walls intensified as the shadow of a huge monster could be seen coming outside—starting with a pair of glowing red eyes. Pretty soon, the full body of 'Earthbound Immortal Allqu' was revealed; it was that of a gigantic demonic dog, with a black and white skin tone to partially match the tone of the other 'Earthbound Immortal' monsters (Level: 10/ATK: 2700/DEF: 2300).
"Normally, I love dogs," stammered Lisa, looking upward while terrified beyond words, "But this is way too much!"
"Is this the fear and anxiety Fudo-san felt when he battled 'Earthbound Immortal Uru'?" remembered David, as faded stills of Matt and Rutger's duel, along with Discord and Azrael's duel, were superimposed over him one image at a time, "Discord-senpai and Megan-san both died fighting two other 'Earthbound Immortals'… Do I have what it takes to defend against one, let alone defeat it?"
Vincent, now in a position to take control of the duel and win, was laughing maniacally over how helpless his enemies were and how invincible he felt.
"Now let's see you drop dead one at a time!" declared Vincent madly, "'DIIIIIIIIIE'!"
Was Vincent right? Was David, and possibly Lisa, about to die at the hands of an 'Earthbound Immortal' monster? Would David be able to survive the impending attack and bring it and Vincent down? It's too early to say…
(Streaks of light briefly cut through darkness in tune to a drum cymbal being played. Upon the last beam, it turned into the 'Stardust Dragon' Synchro Monster Card. In a second, the darkness fades until becoming the Orb City with the other five Signer Dragons appearing in card form; the 'Red Dragon Archfiend' Synchro Monster Card, the 'Black-Winged Dragon' Synchro Monster Card, the 'Black Rose Dragon' Synchro Monster Card, the 'Ancient Fairy Dragon' Synchro Monster Card, and the 'Life Stream Dragon' Synchro Monster Card. We are then shown a deserted bit of the city, buildings broken down and in ruin. The seven Dark Signers were shown near the bottom of a large pile while the six Signers are shown at the top.)
Watching the light brighten our way
We both vowed to face the unknown
That we'll go build a future made for us and us alone
(The Crimson Dragon appeared in the sky and roared as the six Signer Dragons appeared beneath it.)
Where the distant light of dawn
Shines bright from where we stand
As we rise and shine within our wonderland!
(We then see side panels of the signers with their dragons; Matt with 'Stardust Dragon', Michael with 'Red Dragon Archfiend', 'James R. with 'Black-Winged Dragon', Carlie with 'Black Rose Dragon', Lisa with 'Ancient Fairy Dragon', and David with 'Life Stream Dragon. Seconds later, we're shown each Signer one by one along with a montage of clips from some of their past duels, leaving David for last.)
There's a wave of emotions that…
…flooded in approaching our shores
In our world - one in which
Algorithms can't explain things
Should you find that you've
lost the light giving you wings
Rest assured the hourglass behind your heart
won't reset from your fright
(Instead of seeing clips of Matt, the Signer in question, appeared, and drew a card into the air, followed by several black and white pictures indicating future events of the story.)
So, roll the dice and live your life
Get out and follow the light!
(One-by-one, the six Signers appear, holding their individual Signer Dragon cards.)
May you soar towards tomorrow
Flying faster than your heartbeats
Through it all, see the world on your endless journey of feats.
(Eventually, they rode their respective Duel Runners, Signer Dragons above, through the deserted city of Hartford.)
And just know that tears are normal
Every tear has its reason
Let my voice break through, and serve as your beacon
(We then see the six Signers and all of their friends and allies standing by, seeing the blue sky trying to cut through the dark clouds created from the despair of the Dark Signer war, hoping peace would one day return to the world.)
This is it, everyone, the final arc of the whole story has officially begun, and what a way for us to begin it! A fair, if also justified, warning; the second and remaining part of the duel is going to be extremely intense and violent. As ever, do stay safe during these troubling times we're in.
