Title: Never Gladiator
Lionel has found his first 'weird' timeline. A timeline where (when?) everything didn't flow as usual. What's the difference? Well, there are a few…
The western world writes the year 933 since the foundation of Rome. And if Marcus Aurelius had been slowly wearing away in his Villa in Sirmium he wouldn't have died so soon had he not decided that the Empire deserved a more capable man than his son Commodus.
Surprisingly Marcus' choice had been one of his younger Generals Maximus Decimus Meridius, a man who, in all normal timeflows died in his early youth because of a fall off his favorite stallion while growing up in Spain.
No need to say that Commodus didn't appreciate his father's decision and that he didn't dither to make his anger known.
Another discrepancy with normal timeflows is the survival of Lucius Verus the Younger Lucilla and Lucius Verus' son.
There are probably more but they soon will have a lot less importance since d'Arcy won't be able to resist to the temptation to meddle…
Let's see what will happen if Maximus avoids to become the Empire's next pop Star.
Summary:

The western world writes the year 933 since the foundation of Rome.
Lucius Verus the Younger has survived and like him a certain Maximus Decimus Meridius survived enough to become Marcus Aurelius' choice as the next Emperor.
