Chapter 2

"Come on, boss. It's not that bad." I walked behind my boss with an amused expression, watching his disgruntled look as he just ignored me after the whole fiasco with my newly evolved starter.

At the moment, both of us are going back home, as I am currently following him from behind.

"Yeah of course it's nothing. Milotics are dime a dozen, for sure. Why? I just fished 7 milotics yesterday. Indeed, they aren't worth mentioning at all you brat," My boss sarcastically replied. "They are one of the hardest water pokemon species to obtain and to boot, they are one of the priciest pokémons because of their scales and sheer width and breadth of their rarity."

Instead of waiting for a reply from me, my bastard of an old boss continued to rant about the situation, while uncaring about anything I've said previously.

"And somehow my employee who just recently caught himself an ugly Feebas that has now evolved into a magnificent Milotic… And it's not even two months passed!"

Well, I guess I'll just let him rant as much as he wanted until he's satisfied.

Seriously, it feels like dealing with my mother out of all people.

My boss suddenly pointed his finger directly at my face. "Think you're so tough now you've got yourself a rare pokemon huh? Alright lad, you've earned my ire! C'mon fight me in a pokemon battle! One-on-one, if you dare!"

Oh my god, now he's trying to establish his dominance as the older one.

Honestly, why does it always happen like this?

Good God, these old folks, always trying to show off that they're still capable, but in reality, they are just afraid and jealous about getting bested by younger peers.

I just shrugged as I followed my Boss into our house's backyard.

Both of us took a considerable distance, as my boss smirked arrogantly. "Lad! Today I will show you the strength of Poliwhirl and I that has been honed for years!"

While saying that, he let out his Poliwhirl, who materialized in a flash of white. The dude smiled upon seeing me while waving his hand. "Po! Poli!"

"Focus Poliwhirl! Today we're gonna fight Zale to show our strength! Lad thinks that he is a big shot after getting a rare pokemon!"

Poliwhirl looked at my boss in confusion, then switched his attention to me, as if demanding an answer.

Smiling at his reaction, I simply took Milotic pokeball, throwing it leisurely as she materialized in the same light. The sheer size of Milotic took Poliwhirl off guard, as he looked at my starter with a nervous look, then looked at me, as if pleading for some mercy.

Sadly, apparently my boss didn't realize about Poliwhirl's nervousness as he barked loudly at his pokemon. "See that Poliwhirl, the lad just got himself a very rare pokemon! But rare doesn't mean anything as we can prove it with our years of experience!"

… Well, your encouragement to Poliwhirl didn't help much, boss. Since it just made him more nervous.

I just gave him an apology smile.

Even if we've bonded closely as friends, I need to prove to my boss that Milotic was not just a mere coincidence.

"Milotic, this will be our first fight after you evolve," I said to her, to which she responded by looking at me. "Yeah, we will fight old Poli to prove ourselves, Boss kinda fuming and said I underestimated him after getting you."

Hearing that, Milotic eyes narrowed in annoyance, Teeth gnashing in annoyance as if she just got offended after hearing my explanation, much to my own surprise.

She quickly turned her eyes, barring directly at the agitated Poliwhirl, who flinched when he saw the expression that Milotic showed. She is not amused at all, which contrasts with how I handle the situation due to my past experience.

'... This is gonna be tough for poor, old Poli.' I thought to myself in grimace. My boss' Poliwhirl hasn't trained for a very long time, preferring to help him run his business which in turn diminished his fighting aptitude by a long margin.

Coupled with his small body which is pretty much average for his species, and compared it with my enormous Milotic who had been trained extensively for almost two months…

I just simply can't see how Poliwhirl could win, unless he manages to pull a niche situation with his current arsenal.

… I sighed.

Better finish this fight quickly so I don't give poor Poliwhirl any further trauma.

"Alright boss, since you really want to face me in a pokemon battle, I guess I'll grant you that." I said, eyes focused on my first fight after being transmigrated in this world. "Also, feel free to take the first move."

Unfortunately, this further irritated my boss, his eyes narrowed with veins literally plastered on his forehead. Oops.

"You gotta regret for giving me a first move, lad! Poliwhirl, let's start with Water Gun!" My boss barked his order loudly.

Slumping in defeat at his unfavorable situation, Poliwhirl just simply gave up and obeying my boss' order, spitting a torrent of water directly into Milotic.

I immediately realized it, as Milotic seemed to do so as well.

Poliwhirl's Water Gun… Is very weak.

It's so weak that Milotic just easily dodged it without any problem.

"Grrrr…! You just got lucky!" Seeing how MIlotic easily dodged Poliwhirl's attack just made my boss get pissed off. "Poliwhirl! Teach this overgrown snake a lesson! Use Mud Shot!"

Even in hesitation, Poliwhirl quickly reacts to my Boss' order, much to my respect for him, hurling a blob of mud at Milotic.

"Milotic, use a Water Gun."

I swear I just saw Milotic eyes glinting in promised pain as she retaliated by opening her mouth, firing a torrent of spiraling water in response. It straight up tearing Poliwhirl's Mud Shot by a large margin as it's not even a contest, as the blast hit Poliwhirl straight on mark, making the poor tadpole pokemon get thrown like a ragdoll as he cried in pitiful manner.

… Sorry man, I'm gonna give you an extra pokeblock tomorrow.

I saw my boss was surprised by the difference of power between our pokemon. But instead of acknowledging it, he is persistently being stubborn, yelling at Poliwhirl in response. "Poliwhirl, you are supposed to teach lad's Milotic a lesson, not being thrown around by a greenhorn like her!"

Milotic snarled.

"Oh, dear me." I facepalmed at my boss' poor response at the situation, not realizing that he was just really pissing my Milotic even further.

Without even waiting for my order, Milotic immediately slittered forward, which was fast for a pokemon like her, as speed was not Milotic's forte if I remembered correctly about her status in the game.

But then again, game logic doesn't really apply in real-life pokemon battles.

I watched in concern as Milotic almost literally tore Poliwhirl apart as she kept smacking the poor Tadpole using her sturdy tail, or never once letting Poliwhirl recover or even acknowledge my boss' frantic voice as it was literally beating Poliwhirl without any shed of mercy.

… I'll remember to double the amount of pokeblock for Poliwhirl tomorrow. He doesn't deserve this kind of beating, as it's my boss's fault to begin with.

"So that's what happened," said Cordelia as she handed me two packs of pokeblocks. "No wonder Hugh has been quite chirpy lately, he just can't accept the fact that you're surpassing him in pokemon battle."

I nodded. "Yeah, after that one-sided beating, I had to recall Milotic before she inflicted any further trauma to old Poli. Poor guy has been depressed ever since that fight, and my boss' constant yelling is not helping him."

Cordelia just nodded at my explanation. "Don't be mad at him, dear. I understand that he's frustrated with your rapid growth that he felt kind of left out after helping and guiding you about everything. He's just worried about you, despite his rough attitude at the moment."

You don't really have to explain to me about that, Cordelia, since I already have been familiar with this situation from long ago.

Even though I can't remember my mother's face or her name, I still remember her behavior when she's been worrying about me, which is very similar to how my boss treated me. Both are elderly folks, sometimes they act like children due to being unable to express their feelings, while also still clinging to their belief that they should be respected by the younger people like me.

"Don't worry Cordelia, I can handle it," I smiled while packing my pokeblocks, one for Milotic, while the other was for old Poli. "After all, my boss has been helping me ever since I got stranded here by myself. I ought to repay what he had done to me."

Cordelia let out a content smile upon hearing my words. "He's lucky to have met you."

I laughed hearing that, while proceeding to bid my goodbye to her.

As I left Cordelia's stand, I was greeted by local people, as well as several tourists who had asked me the same request every single day.

They all want to see Milotic.

Yeah, the news quickly spreaded in the town after several children saw me releasing Milotic for our daily training. Which happened in an accident as I didn't expect for them to be around the secluded area which I used to train with Milotic.

And ever since that, I was the most known person on this beach, which honestly kind of annoys me, as these people are constantly meddling with my privacy.

Naturally, I refused many of their requests.

Not to mention, I also didn't want Milotic to get uncomfortable with other people, or even worse, pissed her so much that she'll start throwing a few Water Guns at them.

Few people had already been victims of Milotic's wrath after all.

Returning to the fishing shop, I was met with a bizarre situation, as I saw a man with a flamboyant tone who was currently arguing with my boss, who was looking at him with utter disgust.

He was wearing one of the most bizarre clothes I've ever seen in my life. A long white pants connected to his teal upper shirt which left his belly bare, a purple undershirt, which covered a part of his chest, a green transparent stripes from his shoulders along with a white cape, ended with a pair of tri-bracelets on his arms.

"Like I said, I didn't know where he was going! And seriously, stay away from me! You are creeping me out! Get out before I'm gonna throw you with force!"

"Oh dear monsieur! Please don't throw me out of this shop! I am just a humble trainer who wants to meet a wonderful person who also owns the same beauty I had!"

'Dude, you are not a humble trainer, given I literally know who you are.' I thought while approaching both, then calling out the green-haired guy out before my boss is really gonna throw him out of the shop and causing unnecessary attention.

"Stop it boss," I called him, which earned me attention from both him and the green-haired man. "And also don't start threatening people like that, especially when the person whom you're about to throw out is basically the Water Gym Leader of Sootopolis City."

This earned me a mixed response.

But before my boss could even utter any words regarding his disbelief, I was quickly dragged by Wallace out of the shop, which surprised me since even though we had similar height, I had more muscle than him.

"Oh finally I've met you, my beautiful boy who also owns the most beautiful pokemon in all the world!"

Not to mention getting hugged by Wallace is kind of creeping me out.

Naturally, I was trying to untangle myself from him, but surprisingly I had a hard time doing that. We're kind of doing this for a while, which is kind of attracting unwanted attention from locals.

"Is that Mr. Wallace! The top Coordinator from Sootopolis City?"

"Oh my, he is such a stud!"

"Is he coming here due to Zale?"

"I bet he did! Because Mr. Wallace is one of few people who also owned a Milotic!"

"Awww man! Zale is such a lucky guy for getting chummy with Mr. Wallace!"

Miss, if you really want to be in my position right, please by all means because I am currently very embarrassed, stuck in this current situation.

"A beauty must acknowledge another beauty as well! Monsieur Zale, you, also have some beauty with a wonderful, beautiful Milotic! Please, I would like to talk more with you!" said Wallace, while raising his one arm up high, while taking a pose, while his other arm is still on my shoulder.

Dear god, would you kindly send me some help to get out of this embarrassing situation?

"I am sorry for causing you such discomfort, young Zale. I was so excited to meet you that I have lost my self-control!" said Wallace while speaking in a polite manner.

I nodded politely at him. "It's no big deal, Mr. Wallace, you are just being excited."

"Thank you for your kind understanding, young Zale. I was thoroughly impressed and moved by your mannerism..!"

I just laughed lightly hearing his praise.

After our whole fiasco on the market, we finally managed to find a secluded place to talk, away from any eavesdropping. Surprisingly beneath his flamboyant attitude, Wallace is actually a polite and well-mannered person, as both of us then quickly clicked on each other.

"Ah yes, young Zale," Wallace said while looking at me hopefully. "May I have the honor of meeting with another addition of our little club as we speak?"

I just laughed while shaking my head. "I can't help but feel honored for being allowed to join your small club, Mr. Wallace."

"Of course dear Zale as it should be, given the amount of people who owned Milotic can be counted by fingers, and you just happen to be the youngest person who owned such beautiful pokemon! As well as the fastest, if what your uncle said is true that you just started less than two months for being a trainer!"

"Technically it's already two months," I said while smiling at Wallace. Taking out Milotic pokeball, I released her in the brilliant bluish light, revealing her glorious splendor as she cooed with her beautiful voice, and immediately coiling around me with affection.

Wallace nodded fervently. "Such a fine specimen it is! Her size is much bigger than an average Milotic! Probably one of the biggest ones as well! Her scales are so healthy, with vibrant colors! Even the blue and red scales are much brighter than normal! What an incredible Milotic she is!"

Milotic just stared flatly at Wallace, despite him praising her highly.

"Mr. Wallace, since I've already shown mine, would you kindly also show yours as well?" I asked him eagerly to meet a Champion-Level Milotic, given in the Pokemon Emerald game, Wallace did replace Steven as Champion of Hoenn.

"Absolutely young Zale! In fact I would like for my Milotic to meet yours as well!" said Wallace while releasing his own Milotic, as it appeared in a flash of multicolored lights.

And it truly is a wonderful specimen.

The scales of Wallace's Milotic are much more vibrant, which is probably due to constant grooming for his coordinator performance. And while the size is about the same as my own Milotic, it's unmistakable power that emitted from Wallace's Milotic is undeniable.

Even my own Milotic realizes it, as she regarded Wallace's Milotic with a wary look. Kind of contrasting with how the older Milotic simply greets her with a soft coo.

"It is truly a wonderful Milotic… I can even feel the strength emanating from her…" I said in bewilderment.

Wallace just laughed at my praise. "Nothing to be envious of, young Zale! Your Milotic is also an amazing specimen on her own! Though I must say, she seemed pretty hostile towards mine own Milotic. I wonder if it is something that I did to offend her?"

True to his words, my own Milotic seems to be getting aggravated, as she is lashing her tails in a threatening manner, eyes narrowed against Wallace's Milotic, who is confused like her master, but is on guard in case my Milotic suddenly moves to try harming her or her master.

I was also wondering at first, but it suddenly clicks on me.

'… Is she getting jealous?' I wondered in my mind, looking at my own Milotic perplexed.

Seems like Wallace also realized the same thing, as he laughed out loud after realizing that. "Fear not, young Milotic! My Milotic are loyal to me, as well as how you are loyal to your own master! We do not seek to do anything that will jeopardize your relationship at all!"

That did some wonders, as the hostility from my own Milotic slowly disappeared, as she slowly approached the older Milotic, who's relaxed after seeing my Milotic calmed down.

Both of them then nudged at each other, seemingly talking in animated voices as any hostility from Milotic completely disappeared. Looking at two Milotic who are cooing, and nudging at each other with affectionate manners kind of makes my heart flutter.

Seems like Wallace is also the same, as he basically gives the utmost praise with a passionate tone.

Suddenly, I got an idea.

Since Wallace is here, this is also a good chance for me to train Milotic as well, as I could ask for any advice or even have a spar with Wallace in order to hone Milotic fighting prowess. We still regularly train, with Milotic picking up Disarming Voice and Aqua Ring, but most of the time, Milotic is still struggling to harness Draconic energy which is important for her to learn Twister.

But with Wallace in here, it could immensely help our training.

"Mr. Wallace, would it be fine with you if I asked for guidance on our training?" I asked him politely.

Without any hesitation, Wallace just answered with delightment. "Of course, young Zale! As a fellow Milotic owner, it's normal for the older one to guide the younger so they can be stronger! Milotic, would you please kindly teach young Zale's Milotic to further honing her strength?"

Hearing that, Wallace's Milotic quickly agreed. She even cooed in a hushed tone, as if trying to drag my own Milotic to train with her.

Naturally, my own Milotic accepted, as both of them are quickly separating themselves in a considerable distance, preparing for a spar.

Without any warning, my own Milotic lunged forward, directly into Wallace's Milotic who was on alert and prepared for the assault.

Throughout the fight, I kind of pity my Milotic.

Despite putting up on everything, the spar between my Milotic and Wallace's Milotic is not even a fight.

It was pretty much a one-sided fight, with my Milotic being thoroughly overpowered in every aspect, whether it was power, speed, technique, or the number of moves, my Milotic are simply not even a match under Wallace's Milotic monstrous strength.

But despite that, my own Milotic didn't get discouraged despite a sheer difference between her and the older Milotic.

It motivates her to keep going while ignoring her injuries, something that impressed both me and Wallace. Even Wallace's Milotic is also impressed, as it stopped the fight in order to heal Milotic's injuries with Life Dew, while seemingly giving numerous advice with their own languages.

"Young Zale," I turned my attention to Wallace when he called me with a polite, serious tone. "I decided that I will stay much longer so my Milotic can honing your Milotic to ever greater heights. Initially I just planned to do a quick visit before going back to Sootopolis City, but after seeing your Milotic determination, I cannot help but want to answer it with equal vigor."

"So, I hope you prepared as well, because I will also thoroughly teach you about a lot of things."

I nodded.

Before, I've been transmigrated in this world, alone without anything to lean upon.

But now, I have my boss as my parent figure, Cordelia, then Milotic as my starter pokemon.

Right now, I got a chance as I've met a Champion-level teacher who will teach me about being a pokemon trainer, together with my own starter.

Let's do this.

-To Be Continued-

Author Note: Another chapter down

Same rules as before, this fic is decided by roll and votes, so I can pick pokemon in Hoenn available later for vote.

My roll is pretty for for Wallace, as I got 98 for his chance to appear sooner, and 95 for his staying duration. Meaning he will spend at least a week to train both Zale and Milotic.

Feel free to suggest, though I may or may not take your suggestion.

As for me, I've already decided on more pokemon so far, bringing some updates for you guys. I've decided to take Magikarp as the first winner despite the votes still going on, meaning the last slot will be decided by you guys as well.

Anyway, leave me some review for making me a happy guy.

Next update will be dropped soon, since I've already got the gist down as well.

Well, I guess that's it.

See you in the next chapter.
