Both of us finally returned to the beach after that awkward kiss, and we were still unable to look at each other.
Not to mention most of Wallace's Pokemon all grinned in our direction, namely Milotic, Whiscash, and Lucidolo being the most vocal about expressing their support. Tentacruel and Walrein on the other hand are more neutral, as they just looked at me with a critical look, feeling as if I got judged by both of them for whether I was worthy or not. As for Gyarados, he is more interested in giving some advice to Red.
Considering that today is the last day of training, I guess it is the only thing that Wallace's Gyarados could do.
As for Milotic, she isn't happy with the circumstances, but she managed to control herself pretty well, much to my surprise. From what Wallace's Milotic told me, apparently my Milotic had taken quite a liking to Lisia, due to her bright and caring personality. And since Milotic is technically also an empath, she doesn't have any reason to dislike Lisia at all.
Though she did it begrudgingly after our kiss while giving me a stink eye.
I take a deep breath to calm myself.
No need to act like a clueless teenager
I am older, even though I am unsure how old Lisia was, so I need to take control of the situation here.
But before I was able to utter any word, Wallace just had to appear at the most perfect timing, ever.
"My dearest people!
Lisia yelped in surprise and jumped at me in reflex. She quickly realized it and immediately released herself while apologizing profusely.
"I am sorry, it was on reflex!" she said while bowing repeatedly before she turned her attention while glaring at Wallace. "Uncle Wallace! Don't surprise me like that again!"
Wallace just smirked at Lisia's expression. "I am not sorry, dear Lisia! But I thought that you would've enjoyed it, no?"
Lisia just spluttered in embarrassment, as her cheek once again turned into a bright red while she repeatedly slapped Wallace's shoulder. "Noooooo! It's not like what you think!"
Despite being repeatedly clapped, Wallace just laughed.
Well, I guess I need to save him before his shoulder becomes swollen. "So, what do you want to tell us, Mr. Wallace?"
"Ah yes about that!" said Wallace as he untangled himself from Lisia. "Let's have some fine dinner!"
Both Lisia and I looked at him in confusion.
"As a celebration of the end of dear Zale's training day, I would like for all of us to have dinner somewhere in this city since this is the last day of my stay along with my dear nephew Lisia!"
As Wallace said that, both of us then remembered that today was indeed the last day of duration.
Lisia looked at me, then at Wallace, seemingly unsure while also exhibiting some sadness. But she immediately shook it off, while agreeing with Wallace. "Sure! Let's have some fun tonight before we're going!"
Since both of them agreed to have dinner together, naturally I agreed as well.
"Also don't worry about the restaurant, I've already booked the place for tonight's dinner!" said Wallace.
Man, he worked fast for this.
As suggested by Wallace, all three of us decided to eat at the most expensive restaurant in Dewford City. He even already paid for everything in advance including the reservation in a private room.
In this restaurant, there's a special private room where you can bring out your Pokemon to have a meal together. I heard they even had their recipe for pokeblocks, which is much healthier and tastier than the strong normal pokeblock you usually find in the market.
People mostly call it a gourmet version of a pokeblock.
"Mr. Wallace, can I invite my boss as well?" For this occasion, I asked Wallace if I could invite my boss since I believed that he hardly had time to talk with Wallace or any similar things.
Wallace agreed immediately. "Why not, dear Zale! I might as well have the honor to meet a person who raised you to be such a well-mannered young man!"
… Kind of exaggeration, but I didn't rebuke that.
After agreeing on the time for us to meet, I quickly returned home to talk with my boss about the dinner. It took some time to convince him that he was indeed invited, but finally, I managed to do it.
Suffice it to say, my boss was a total nervous wreck.
"Zale, I'm not sure about this! What if I do something that embarrasses both of us?"
"Nah, it's going to be okay. This is Wallace that we're talking about."
He kept bugging me until we arrived at the restaurant.
At the front of the restaurant stood Lisia and Wallace, who were waiting for both of us to show up.
While Wallace was wearing his usual clothes, Lisia chose to not wear her usual coordinator attire and rather wore a sleeveless black t-shirt, which truly emphasized her voluptuous figure, along with a blue jacket to cover some skin. Completing her sporty image was a white short skirt along with a black leggings and sporty shoes.
When they saw us, both immediately picked their conversation partner. Wallace with the boss, while I stick together with Lisia.
Dinner went on pretty normally, though my Boss kept stuttering in front of Wallace which was hilarious. Even Wallace had to control himself from not outright laughing in front of my uncle, but in the end he was unable to do it.
That later changed when alcohol came into play, which made both of them become looser and start talking out animatedly.
Hell, even Wallace was much more expressive than usual while basically dragging an equally drunk boss into a weird dance while everyone's Pokemon were staring at them with various expressions.
I mostly drink juice so I didn't really participate in their shenanigans.
"Hey Zale!" a tipsy boss called while holding a glass of alcohol, which I assumed was vodka. "Come here and drink some with me!"
"No thanks." I naturally refused.
"Bah! Why even refuse when you've been drinking with us on occasion! Even some guys are still looking for you for a drinking rematch!"
I got a certain look from Lisia, as she was basically eyeing me with a suspicious look. "You're drinking?"
"Only a bit." I quickly answered, hoping to avoid the conversation.
"A bit!? Missy I'll tell 'ya, this brat is one of the best drinkers in our community! He even holds out after drinking a lot during our drinking competition during the yearly festival!"
"Zale!"
… Bloody hell boss, stop blabbering about things or else I'm gonna get sacked by the girl whom I just kissed this evening.
Suffice to say, I got an earful from Lisia about being an early drinker almost all night long. She even kept me under her watch until the party ended, namely because she didn't want to see me drink even just one glass.
Wallace and Lisia left the next morning.
It was kind of surprising when I saw Wallace was completely sober even after drinking that much all night long while my boss was currently suffering from a headache inside the house.
Since they were kind of in a hurry to get to their plane before it left, I offered to drive them into the airport with my boss' car, which was a huge help for them.
Lisia didn't question how I could drive, probably since she had already accepted that I could do anything beyond my apparent age.
During the entire trip Wallace had been talking continuously on his phone while bringing his travel bag, mostly about his duty as Gym leader and also about some coordinating schedule. The same happened with Lisia, as she was also stuck on her phone while talking panicked, mostly about her job and schedule for the Pokemon coordination championship or something.
They had a hefty schedule waiting for them.
I wisely kept my mouth shut while letting them talk about their jobs.
It took two hours before we finally arrived at the airport.
"Don't forget to keep up with your training, dear Zale," Wallace said while putting his hand on my shoulder. "I am already messaging you about what you need to do to train both of your Pokemon, as well as what type of pokeblocks they need for their diet. Also, while Professor Elm is preparing for the pokeblock specifically meant for your Gyarados, I suggest for him to seek out his food for a while."
I nodded at his advice.
Satisfied, Wallace then left, not before whispering something to Lisia. It had some effect as Lisia just blushed, but quickly shrugged it off while taking her turn talking to me as well.
"I put my number on your phone, so please don't forget to send lots of messages or call me whenever you are free, okay!"
I couldn't say no, especially with her adorable expression which made me snagged another time for caressing her hair. "Alright, I promise."
She didn't refuse at all, just lowered her head while letting me pat her as much as I wanted.
I took a snapshot of it.
Her embarrassment is truly a sight to behold as she hopelessly tries to take my phone while frantically screaming to delete that picture.
"Wait! Please delete it! It's embarrassing! Zaleeeeee~~!"
"Nope!" I said while laughing. She was a real cutie. I'm not gonna lie, it made my heart flutter in emotion seeing her like this.
… I didn't turn into a sadist, didn't I?
Well, our small quarrel ended when Wallace called Lisia from afar since their plane was ready to get abroad.
Hearing her uncle, Lisia stopped trying to take my phone as she immediately hugged me tightly. I could hear some sniffing from her, as she was just burying her head on my chest.
"I'll miss you, Zale."
"I'll miss you too."
"Promise me you will never forget to call whenever you have free time."
"I promise."
Lisia let go of me, as she looked directly at my face with teary eyes.
Then without any warning, our lips meet for the second time. But this time much faster since she immediately took it off, while grinning widely.
"The first one is accidental, but this one isn't," said Lisia while sticking out her tongue, before grinning widely with her cheek red. "Bye Zale~! See you on our next date, okay~!"
I simply shook my head in a defeated manner. I just can't say no to this girl, l after all.
"...Bye, Zale."
"... It's not a goodbye, it's just a temporary departure," I said while putting my hand on my hip. "I will follow you soon."
"Ehehe… yeah. See you later, Zale."
"Until we meet again, Lisia."
With that, Lisia turned and chased after her uncle, as I watched her figure slowly disappear beneath the crowds. Their departure also marks the end of my training routine with Wallace alongside the time I spent with Lisia as well.
Immediately after accompanying both Wallace and Lisia to the airport, and watching them finally go, I quickly returned as I wanted to start my training with Milotic and Gyarados as soon as possible.
Naturally, I didn't stop training even after Wallace was gone. Given my current predicament and the danger in the future of dealing with Pokemon poachers, I took it more seriously after our session.
About my job, I kind of quit. Well, it's more like my boss simply 'fired' me while saying I should've focused on my training and let him deal with the fishing shop.
Ever since I've gotten popular due to my Pokemon, a lot of tourists have come and visited the shop and the business has flourished ever since. My boss even hired two employees to help him in the shop, namely a Machop and a Machoke which came from the Gym in Dewford under Brawly's regime.
Due to my sponsorship, I got myself a monthly income, which had already been sent from Pokemon League through Wallace's order. Not only that, Wallace also already made a bank account just for me to receive the monthly wage without my knowledge, which he casually revealed during our dinner.
It came in the morning when I was about to pick up Wallace and Lisia when my new phone suddenly rang for notification.
I almost dropped my phone upon seeing how much money I just got: Two hundred thousand Pokedollar per month.
Holy shit, no wonder many people seek sponsorship or any investment under their name as a Pokemon trainer.
It helped me a lot to feed my Gyarados, but there was a small problem. Namely, finding the right place where we can train without any disturbance.
Thanks to my latest commotion due to bringing a literal 55-foot-long Gyarados into broad daylight, I've now become an even more famous individual on the beach.
If owning a Milotic alone already brought hundreds of visitors to this small island, then showing myself riding a gigantic Shiny Gyarados was bringing thousands of people who wanted to see my Gyarados with their own eyes.
Fortunately, my boss then told me about a particular place near the beach where he was using it along with his friends to play when he was younger. The place that he recommended was simply a small island that wasn't far from Dewford, and it was perfect for me to train both Milotic and Red peacefully.
Speaking of which, I decided to give my Gyarados a nickname.
It was a simple name for my Gyarados due to his reddish color, hence why I called him 'Red'.
It was also a homage to the strongest trainer ever who conquered his region in his first journey and later became a living legend with his monstrous team of Pokemon.
After releasing Red and Milotic, I quickly took off while riding Milotic (she kept forcing me to ride her instead of Red) alongside Red to the small island for our training session.
It didn't take a long time for me to reach the island that my boss had mentioned.
The first thing I did after reaching the island was to check Milotic and Red's information with my new phone
Aside from being the latest model, it can also serve as a Pokedex, much to my surprise.
Lisia must have bought it at a hefty price and dang that girl is just too sweet for her good. I will give her lots of attention and pampering when we meet again.
[Milotic, the Tender Pokemon. Milotic has inspired many artists. It has even been referred to as the most beautiful Pokemon of all. It is said that a glimpse of a Milotic and its beauty will calm any hostile emotions you're feeling. This Milotic is around 8.8 meters long, and weighs around 220.4 kilograms. It has the Ability Marvel Scale.
Its known moves are Rain Dance, Aqua Ring, Toxic, Life Dew, Dragon Dance, Protect, Disarming Voice, Ice Beam, Water Pulse, Surf, Mist
Note, Mist is an Egg move.]
Dang man.
Milotic must have trained hard if she suddenly got five additional moves from ten days of training with Wallace's Milotic. From what I remembered, she didn't have Life Dew, Dragon Dance, Protect, Surf, or Toxic.
"You trained very hard, girl," I said while caressing Milotic's scale, which she greatly enjoyed while giving Red a smug look, much to his confusion.
Now for Red's information.
[Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokemon. It has an extremely aggressive nature. Once Gyarados appears, its rage never settles until the Pokemon has razed the fields and mountains around it. Although it obeys its instinctive drive to destroy everything within its reach, it will only respond to orders from a Trainer it truly trusts. This Gyarados is estimated to be around 23 Meters long. It has a Moxie Ability.
Its known moves are Rain Dance, Rest, Tackle, Waterfall, Fly, Bite, Flamethrower]
Wait a minute.
Since when did this guy know Rain Dance, and Rest, or even something like Waterfall and Flamethrower?
Is this the power of evolution?
But before I could even think about it, suddenly my Pokedex began to emit a bright noise that was akin to an alarm.
[Warning. Gyarados with Moxie Ability are known to be more aggressive than normal. Danger. More caution is needed.]
Kinda expected this one, but Red seemed very calm to not label him as a dangerous Pokemon.
[Attention. An unusual color has been detected. This Pokemon is detected as a variant]
Oh yeah, shiny variant. I also expected this as well.
[Attention. This Gyarados' size does not match according to the data. Unusual size. Searching for information… Information complete. This Gyarados is detected to have an Alpha Gene. Warning. Warning. The trainer is required to report to the nearest officials-Updating data… Complete. Trainer's data is valid according to Wallace of Sootopolis as guarantor. Processing… Update Complete. This Pokemon is now registered under the name of Trainer Zale.
'... Shit, I didn't expect that one.' I mentally thought while silently thanking Wallace for helping me with this.
With how pokedex reacted, it seems like Alpha is a dangerous variable more than anything, given it forces me to report Red to the nearest official Pokemon league staff. It would have ended quite badly for me and Red if Wallace didn't do something against it.
I really dodged a bullet here.
"Thanks a lot, teach." I said it while sighed in relief, before focusing again as I looked at my two Pokemon.
They have a lot of training to do, starting from now.
"Alright guys!" I said it out loud, which drew their attention. "Even if Mr. Wallace has already gone home, it doesn't mean that we're gonna slack off with our training! Remember this, Mr. Wallace had warned me about the possibility of Pokemon poachers or anyone who would try to steal either one or both of you guys! And the only way to thaf avoid is by getting stronger so we can crush every single one of them without mercy!"
My speech actually had a visible effect on my Pokemon, as Milotic snarled while gritting her teeth, occasionally smashing her tail on the rocky terrain. Red on the other hand simply narrowed his eyes while emitted a low growl that reverberated across the area, causing ripples in the sea. His growl actually gave me goosebumps. I couldn't imagine if he ever roared, as he never once did that so far.
It would be a sight to behold.
"Alright! Since I've already gotten all of your moves, I need both of you to spar while trying to learn each other's moves! Milotic, you're the older one here so I need you to show all of your moves so Red could learn from it! Remember, Red is much younger and just recently evolved so he probably can't control his strength yet, so it's your duty to guide him!"
Milotic swiftly nodded, and never once voiced her complaint about my order. It seems like the prospect of someone stealing her from me outweighs her jealousy for Red. So I tried to make both of them get closer as well, and thus she wouldn't feel threatened or something.
"As for you Red, you will learn to fight while listening to Milotic's advice mid-fight! Despite your size, you have no prior training, so this is a good chance for you to learn from Milotic since she had much more training from Mr. Wallace and his Milotic! Remember, try to fight in your most preferred style, since you are not Milotic! You have your own style and it's important for you to get used to it!"
Red nodded stoically.
"Without further ado, training begins now!"
Both of them quickly took some distance. Eyes narrowed at each other in seriousness. With my signal, both of them quickly lunged forward, starting their training.
Milotic took the head start by quickly firing an Ice Beam towards Red, who countered it with Flamethrower. It proved to be a good decision as Flamethrower quickly overpowered Ice Beam and went straight to Milotic, hitting her dead on and causing an explosion.
But as the smoke subsided, a greenish translucent appeared in front of Milotic, completely protecting her from Red's red hot breath attack.
A large ring of water appeared around Milotic's body and quickly expanded, as Milotic released a stream of water directly at Red.
But this time, Red responded by not countering it directly. Instead he quickly glided upward, flying in open space to avoid Milotic's Water Pulse, much to her annoyance.
'Seeing a gargantuan Gyarados in the sky must be quite a view for anyone. Granted, it might also traumatize them…' I mused in my head, as I watched Milotic repeatedly throwing Water Pulse after Water Pulse at the Gyarados while screaming about something, which was probably about Red who casually evaded attacks as he took to the sky.
In response, my Gyarados opened his mouth, quickly gathered blue energy which formed into a pulsing orb. He then shot a large blast of water directly into a disbelieved Milotic, who chose to dodge it by slithering into the wet rocks. She then got even more surprised when Red somehow fired a bluish beam filled with icy energy at her.
Though I quickly took note that the Ice Beam that he fired was much more unrefined unlike when Milotic displayed the same move.
'First time for everything I guess.'
Still, with how Red quickly learned most of Milotic's offensive moves, it wouldn't be long until he took almost all of Milotic's arsenal as his own. And it seems like Milotic also realized that, as she took stride forward into sea, taking a better environment for her advantage.
Our training lasted for almost thirty minutes, which ended with Red learning Water Pulse, Ice Beam, Protect, and even Dragon Dance. I breathed in relief when Milotic didn't seem to get annoyed by it, as she quickly approached Red while speaking with him. I assumed she was lecturing my Gyarados about how to use the learned moves.
I am glad that she started to take her role as the lead senior more seriously. I was proud of her growth as my starter.
We spent the entire day training in here before calling it for a day after the sun started to set.
"My trainer license has finally arrived?" I asked. Currently I was at home when Wallace suddenly called me.
It's been a week ever since he left, and hearing his voice again kind of excites me.
[Yeah, I have finalized the documents needed for it, while also adding your name as part of my Gym.]
"Is there any merit in doing that?"
[Yes, it has some advantages.] Wallace answered. [The most prominent one is that every single Pokemon that you capture when you are at your carry limit will naturally transfer here. Since I already know some of your Pokemon, I could also tell other gym trainers to take care of them, or even maintain their performance by daily training.]
I hummed in understanding.
Usually when you're hitting your carry limit for your Pokemon, the next capture is transferred into the regional professor, where they will take care of your Pokemon. But in this case, the transfer would be directed to Sootopolis Pokemon Gym, where Wallace was currently in charge.
Having them get trained by Wallace's gym members was also another bonus that I very much welcomed.
[Also given your circumstances, I would recommend you to stay on Dewford for much longer to train your Pokemon to hone them further, as well as train with your newest one which I already sent to you.]
"Wait, I got a new Pokemon?" I cannot help but raise my eyebrow at Wallace.
[It's a normal procedure for any newly registered trainer to get a new Pokemon depending on which Gym they register. Since I registered you under mine, naturally you will get another water Pokemon for your team.]
I hummed again while nodding my head.
While I am happy to get another member of my team, it still surprised me that I got it directly given to me by Wallace.
[You can obtain your license soon in the Pokemon center. I recommend you to get it soon so you can start getting a monthly wage to take care of your Pokemon properly, and also meet with the Pokemon I just sent.]
"Anything I should know about this Pokemon?"
[You will know when you meet her.] Wallace just laughed softly as he ended the call, much to my confusion.
"Man, teach surely loves to play around." I mused while shaking my head, but did what he told me. I quickly took my jacket while getting my bike from the garage, as I sped on over to the Pokemon center while occasionally I also replied to any neighbor I've met.
'I wonder what sort of Pokemon Mr. Wallace just sent to me? While I know it's a water type, there are a lot of water type Pokemon in this world. Maybe a Squirtle, or probably a more common one like a Tentacool?' I can't help but think about my newest Pokemon the entire time on the way to the Pokemon center.
Eventually, I just gave up after arriving at the Pokemon center, silently marveling at how crowded it was with this many people.
I quickly took my step to meet Nurse Joy who is always stationed in almost every Pokemon center, as she greeted me cheerily. "Hello, welcome to the Pokemon center! How could I help you?"
"I am here to take my trainer license and also my new Pokemon which is sent by Gym leader Wallace from Sootopolis City." I replied to her politely.
"Ah yes, we are receiving a notification from Mr. Wallace about a new trainer who will come today to get his trainer license, as well as his starter. But I didn't know that it would be you, Mr Zale."
I raised my eyebrow. "You know about me?"
"Everyone surely knows about the rising star of Dewford who owned two powerhouses which caused many people to come here."
I flinched hearing that, as I quickly took my hoodie to cover my face. "So the reason why there's so many people here…"
"It's because they want to meet you of course. You're pretty famous in the Pokemon community right now, and quite a lot of people come here just to meet you." Nurse Joy said merrily.
I just laughed awkwardly while scratching my cheek. "That's kind of unexpected, I didn't want too much attention like this."
"I am sure that you will get used to it, Mr Zale." said Nurse Joy as she then began to walk away. "I am now printing your trainer license, and also fetching your Pokemon. Please wait for a moment, Mr Zale. I may suggest that you visit our facilities as well for short sightseeing."
And with that, she left me alone.
Man, I will never get used to this fame.
Since I didn't feel like strolling around, I just waited in the receptionist while casually resting my arms on the table. Watching how these seas of people are basically flooding the Pokemon center.
Waiting for a while, I was about to take Nurse Joy's advice when my eyes saw a familiar figure which I didn't expect to meet her in here.
Her small figure sometimes gets pushed back and forth, but she just ignored it while seemingly asking many people with some difficulty, as most of them are simply ignoring her due to her face being covered by a thick cap, which hid her medium length lavender hair pretty well. She was also wearing a very thick white jacket that covered most of her body, which totally looked uncouth and made most people get creeped out by her.
'Ugh, I feel so bad for her.' I can't help but pity her sorry attempt in drawing the attention of every person she asked, and everyone is practically avoiding her immediately.
'But then again, this is the same person who proves to be the most dangerous individual below Maxie himself, so I guess I need to prevent that from happening.'
With that in my mind, I slowly approached her petite figure. Greeting her when she is finally alone after once again getting rejected by another male who hurried to leave after a brief conversion. "Excuse me miss, do you have any help?"
"Processing. Meet a person with a hoodie… Yes, I need help. Caution, the individual is tall. The chance of him kidnapping is high where he could easily lift and turn me into his sex sla-"
"Okay, stop." I quickly rebuke her while hitting her head lightly with a simple chop. "No wonder people are avoiding you."
"Ouch. That hurt."
"And don't say that with a deadpan tone like that." I said again while taking off her hat, showing her face to the world.
'I knew it. It's really her.' I mused to myself I observe the face of an older Courtney, who finally showed some emotion in degree as she
"Ah. My hat, please return it back." said Courtney while trying her best to take the hat. But since the difference in our height is vast, it turned out to be a comical attempt as she just kept jumping meaninglessly.
Honestly it's kinda cute.
"Aside from that," I said while putting Courtney's hat back to her head. "What are you doing here, asking people around like that?"
"Ah, my hat is back." said Courtney as she looked at me with her sharp, emotionless eyes. "Telling. I am here to meet someone named Zale who apparently had an Alpha Gyarados which was nearly three times the size of a normal Gyarados. Explaining. I want to meet him so I can dig up any information and analyze the Gyarados for the sake of my research."
Girl, the guy that you're looking for is literally in front of you right now.
But I will humor her for a while, since I didn't fully trust her just yet. And I want to dig more information about her motive. "And why do you want to research that particular Gyarados?"
"Explaining. Because it's for my research." Courtney just replied to me robotically. I swear this girl is like a broken record.
"You know you can't simply say that as a research when you are literally trying to force someone for the sake of your own, right?" I said back to her.
"Explaining. Because it's for my resea-"
"Anything else aside from your supposed research?"
I saw some hesitation from her, as she finally showed some emotion. She didn't immediately answer me back. Instead, she just anxiously fidgeted back and forth, while playing with her fingers.
After a while, she finally answered, albeit with a frail tone compared to her previous robotical one. "It's… for my research. I am an aspiring Pokemon researcher from Rustboro city… Studying the Alpha gene exposure towards Pokemon, and how it affects their behavior…"
So that's the reason why she wanted to meet me and Red. "Why did you have to come all the way here instead of continuing your research there?"
"Answering... Because my type of study is expensive." Answered Courtney with a sniff. As it seems she's unable to keep her persona anymore. "Explaining… There's not many people in this world that have an Alpha Pokemon… And most of them are overprotective of them, while others ended up being killed by the Alpha for being unable to properly control them… Alpha Pokemon are dangerous in the wild. I can't use them as an object to study it. Trained Alpha Pokemon is my only hope… If I fail in this one as well, my entire study will get scrapped… And… My whole effort, meaningless."
… That, from what I would recall, was unexpected.
It's sad to hear about her effort of finding an Alpha to study them, but repeatedly failing to do so.
Not to mention the threat of her research being deemed unfit and basically having to scrap the entire thing if she also failed with this one kind of resonating with me, as I also had experienced the similar thing during my time as a college student.
The effort, alongside the whole progress which very much stressed you, and the professor just simply said that you need to change the topic… It's downhearted as heck.
"So you just want to meet this guy and ask him to let you study his Alpha Pokemon?"
"Answer… Yes…"
Oi, stop crying like that. It sounds like I was a bad guy here.
"... Alright, I will help you to meet this guy, since I am acquainted with him."
It feels weird describing yourself like that, but it also feels rewarding when I saw Courtney's face immediately brighten as she quickly approached me while looking directly at my eyes.
"Will you help me?"
"Yeah, I will."
"You are not tricking me, right?"
"The heck does that come from?"
"You're not tricking me so you can kidnap me and turned me into your sex slave-"
"Alright, stop with that thing!" I quickly gave her another chop in the head, feeling flustered by her casual accusation.
Heck, I could even feel some people were looking at me with disgust in their face!
"Just, stop talking about turning you into something which only comes from a shitty R-18 porn and follow me…" I said tiredly while walking towards the receptionist as I saw Nurse Joy was already returned with a small package in her hands.
Courtney obediently followed me like a chick followed her mother.
Arriving at the table, Nurse Joy immediately greeted me. "Here's your training license, Mr Zale. And also your newest Pokemon which Mr. Wallace said to immediately let it out for her to familiarize herself with you."
I thanked her while taking my license, along with my Pokeball containing my newest member. As I looked at Courtney who looked at me with an incredulous look on her face.
"Asking… You are… Zale who owns… An Alpha?"
"Yeah, kind of asking you in advance because I wanted to know about your motive for studying my Pokemon." I said to her, as Courtney's expression became sour. She was practically giving me a stink eye.
Huh, I didn't know she could do that kind of emotion as well.
Well, aside from that, let's meet with my newest team member.
"Come out!" I said while throwing my Pokeball, releasing whatever Pokemon inside it. As the Pokemon materialized, I widened my eyes, as my smile went upward when I saw what kind of Pokemon that Wallace just sent to me.
Even the people around me were also stunned when they saw my new Pokemon, unable to believe what they just saw.
"Squirtle!"
It was a reptilian Pokemon that resembled a light blue turtle. He had a squirrel-like tail curled inward. A very familiar face, considering this Pokemon was a part of my childhood, so having Wallace send this as his commemorative gift for me was a pleasant surprise for me.
His red orbs looked at his surroundings before staring at me. As if he already knew that I was his new trainer.
I smiled.
"Hello Squirtle, my name is Zale and I am pretty much your new trainer if you're already heard about me from Mr. Wallace."
"Squirtle!" In response, Squirtle immediately salute with cheerful tone.
"Statement. You are probably being blessed by Arceus for obtaining such rare Pokemon." Courtney, who just looked on the sidelines, simply commented in a flat tone.
Well, I guess I am indeed lucky.
Like my luck is rolled by a dice made from Fortune of the Seas.
-To Be Continued-
Author Note: Another chapter down
Same rules as before, this fic is decided by roll and votes, so I can pick pokémon in Hoenn available later for vote.
Right, another moment down with Lisia and also another kiss from her. This girl is just too sweet for her own good.
Anyway finally the pokemon from the first poll is finally making her appearance, and with that, Zale now officially has three members in his team.
And all of them are water type, I wonder why? :P
Congrats to Zale for his conquest, again (?)
Anyway, leave me some review for making me a happy guy.
Next update will be dropped soon, since I've already got the gist down as well.
Well, I guess that's it.
See you in the next chapter.
Now for answering some reviews:
MakerofTales: Honestly I didn't really think too much about it since I mostly take the info based on pokedex. But I do understand your point as Gyarados is probably should've around 1 ton or more.
I will consider it, or maybe using weight based on irl animal or something.
Frankieu: Well, having an alpha required more cautious approach. Zale is lucky that his Gyarados is chill dude.
Guest: I kinda understand your point about the roll based on how much Zale will attract attention or so, but I don't think I will use it on future, at least for now. Thanks for the idea though.
TheSummerSet: By writing another fic, I mean this fic is technically a snippet but I posted it on its own since I barely got any review in the snippet fic thread, which is totally ridiculous. Having Zale facing a bigger challenge from gym leader is already crossed on my mind so expect some surprise from later gym leaders.
The vote is happened on another forum, which I used it as my main thread for this story. Mainly because the votes from ffn is less compared to that forum, which is kinda sad.
Also I already decided about like ten pokemon for Zale up to now, so I have to refuse the suggestion since they didn't fit what I have in mind, thanks for the suggestion though.
