Harry bought us to our usual private meeting place later that evening.

"What's going on now?" I said

"There's so much I need to tell you, this is gonna be a long story, so make yourselves comfortable" he said. We did so.

"Right, so I fell asleep in Divination, and I had a dream about Voldemort and Wormtail. Voldemort was telling Wormtail that he was lucky, that his blunder hadn't failed and that someone was dead. He wouldn't be feeding him to Nagini, his snake, but he'd be feeding me instead. Then he used the Cruciatus Curse on Wormtail, which made my scar burn like fuck, waking me up. For reasons I'll come on to, I think this dream showed a real event"

There was silence for a few moments.

"Surprised you have nothing to say to that" he said to all of us, raising an eyebrow

"Well, the only real question we have is how you know that was a real event, but you said you were going to explain it, so..." Magda stated, with no one else offering up anything.

"Ok then" Harry said "so I awoke and excused myself claiming I was going to the hospital wing, but I didn't do that. I went straight to Dumbledore's office, which is what Sirius advised me to do. His password is Cockroach Cluster now, believe it or not!"

"Seriously?" said Ron, making a disgusted face "those are the worst sweets out there!"

"I guess he doesn't want it to be easily guessable" said Amy

"When I got to the office, Dumbledore was talking to Fudge and Moody about Crouch, and Fudge seemed to think it was possible that Madame Maxime was somehow involved" Harry continued

"Discrimination is rampant in his cabinet, so that's unfortunately no surprise" said Hermione

"After Moody told them that I was outside, they left for a bit, and while I was waiting for Dumbledore to come back, I noticed this shimmering light coming from his cabinet. I walked up to it, and it seemed to be this glowing bowl of silvery while light"

"That's a Pensive" Demelza commented

"Yes, Dumbledore would tell me the name later. So I went inside it, and ended up viewing 3 different memories of Dumbledore's. The first showed Karkaroff, who was before a full courtroom, where he'd been bought from Azkaban. He was there to give information on Death Eaters, having been on himself, in exchange for freedom"

"Oh my god, I was right!" Amy yelled, standing up in triumph. "I fucking knew there was something odd about him!"

"Mate, are you celebrating the fact that someone was a Death Eater?" asked Demelza

Amy paused her celebration.

"Yeah, you know what, you're right" she said, blushing. She sat down awkwardly.

"Karkaroff named several people, most of whom the Ministry had already caught, Dolohov, Mulciber ("There's a surprise" I muttered darkly) Rosier, who was the one who caused the missing chunk in Moody's nose, before Moody killed him and Travers. Mulciber, you'll be delighted to hear, apparently specialised in the Imperius Curse"

"Oh wonderful" Demelza said

"Yeah, love it" I added "and I bet his daughter can't wait to follow in his footsteps"

"But then Karkaroff named Augustus Rookwood, who was apparently a spy for Voldemort, oh get over it guys, it's just a fucking name (everyone except Harry and I had winced at the sound of it). He worked in the Department of Mysteries. There was one more person though, none other than our own Severus Snape"

"WHAT?!" everyone yelled, but Harry held up his hands.

"I know, I know, I was pretty shocked too, but Dumbledore immediately stood up and said that Snape had turned spy for us shortly before Voldemort fell. I can't say I'm entirely convinced that he isn't double crossing Dumbledore though"

"Bet he is, the fucking git" said Ron viciously, pounding his fist into his palm.

"If Dumbledore trusts him, then I think he's really on our side" said Hermione firmly.

"I agree" said Demelza

"Knew you two would think that way" I said defeatedly.

"Look, instead of having an argument, can we just let Harry continue?" Demelza asked me.

Harry continued

"The second memory, Amy you're not gonna like this, showed Ludo's trial for passing information to the Death Eaters"

We all gasped and Hermione clapped a hand to her mouth, looking quickly at Amy.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Amy shouted

"So it's true?" Demelza whispered, mortified.

"Well, it's true that he was put on trial, but thankfully, he wasn't convicted" and we all relaxed. "In fact, all the Wizengamot did was congratulate him on a superb England performance. He said he thought that he was collecting information for our side, and that he had no idea what Rookwood really was. Apparently he'd offered Ludo a job in the Ministry after her retired from Quidditch"

"No wonder he never told me how he got it" Amy muttered, chewing her lip.

"The final memory depicted the trial of four death eaters. One of them was Barty Crouch Jr, yes that's right, Mr Crouch's son, who he disowned that very night"

"His own son?" said Magda, astonished

"Yes, I can't imagine what that must have felt like"

"Hold on..." said Ron slowly "Ritchie is Barty Sr's great nephew... that must mean that his uncle was a Death Eater!"

"Well, Barty Jr was protesting his innocence the entire time, and because the victims were in no state to tell them exactly who did it, Dumbledore doesn't know if he was really involved. That's why we shouldn't tell Ritchie this just yet, we don't know for sure. He also showed me a glowing memory form of a young Bertha Jorkins, and said that neither Ludo nor Snape have ever been accused of any Dark activity again. As I was leaving he wished me good luck with the third task"

"So what about that dream then?" said Hermione "why do you think it really happened?"

"When I told Dumbledore about the dream, he that my scar hurts when Voldemort is either nearby or feeling hatred, that it's a side effect from his attack on me as a baby. He thinks it's probable that the dream was actually real. He also says he believes Voldemort is getting stronger, he thinks the disappearances of Crouch, Bertha Jorkins and a muggle called Frank Bryce are linked. For some reason, the Ministry disagrees"

It was a hell of a lot to take in. I had a horrible feeling that there would be a lot more of this to come, and quickly...
