Chapter Ten: Temporal Troubles
The reborn trainers were in Ilex Forest while The Big Beauty was parked in Azalea Town. "Wait, wait, wait," Mina said, "We're here hoping to find Celebi? Isn't that the mythical Pokémon who can time travel? I thought that we were gonna do no more time travel."
"We're gonna do no more time travel to fuck up the timeline like how we did because you insisted on fixing Ideku's childhood," Dawn scowled, "We may very well have to do a trip to Hisui to get all of the Pokémon there who are exclusive to Hisui."
"We're also gonna have to track down Enamorus," Trip said, "Especially as Ideku didn't catch her here. He also didn't catch Zekrom and by the way I call dibs on Zekrom."
Shrugging, Kenny said, "Maybe if and when we find Celebi, we can use it to go back and time to prevent Team Heart from forming?"
"But that'll let Team Scorn be a thing again," Mina pointed out.
Shrugging, Kenny simply replied, "We can make sure Team Scorn doesn't become a thing while also preventing Team Heart from becoming a thing."
"One, we have no idea how to prevent Team Heart as a whole," Dawn said, "And two, even if we did know enough to do so, we still shouldn't do it. There is literally no predicting what will happen as a result of too much meddling in the timeline. Let's just stick to this timeline and not fuck with it so as to prevent anything else bad from happening."
The reborn trainers, having reached the shrine in Ilex Forest, decided to look around. "Hey, I just remembered," Trip said, "Natsuki and his friends are historical figures from Sinnoh's Hisuian period, right? They were originally members of Team Scorn. If they're in the past, what will be their reason for being there?"
Dawn wasn't sure; the Pokémon revived from skeletal remains found buried behind the modern day remains of the Galaxy Building in Jubilife City are still with their modern day owners. Dawn for example still has Garudamon, her Hisuian Samurott revived from the skeletal remains of a Hisuian Samurott found behind that building. The other Pokémon from Garudamon's lot are still accounted for, meaning that Natsuki and his group still got sent to the past.
But why they got sent to the past is a mystery. One Dawn hopes to figure out as she and the other reborn trainers went about trying to figure out how to make Celebi appear so they can capture it and cover the last of Johto's legendary and mythical Pokémon. It was as Dawn and the others sat down to take a break that they got a rather curious surprise.
Dawn took out a thermos and used the cap from it as a cup to pour herself some of the hot chocolate in the thermos. As she took a sip, Mina said as she saw something, "Hey yo, who's that green onion headed looking fairy thing?" The other reborn trainers all turned to look and saw that Celebi had poked its head out from behind the Ilex Forest shrine.
Celebi, who was looking right at Dawn, didn't even need any prompting before it flew over to her. It sniffed at the aroma coming from Dawn's hot chocolate, clearly liked the smell, then looked at Dawn with an expectant look. "...It's still a little bit hot," Dawn warned as she offered Celebi a sip, which the temporal onion fairy accepted.
Surprisingly, Celebi wasn't bothered by the heat of the hot chocolate, draining all of the hot chocolate in the cup. Dawn slowly offered Celebi more hot chocolate, up until Celebi had its fill of sweet drink. Dawn was then able to convince Celebi to let her catch it, using a Master Ball to do so. Dawn had to send the ball she had on hand containing Germany to Oak's Lab in order to add Celebi to her party immediately.
After Dawn called out her newly caught Celebi, Kenny said, "Sweetness! Now we have two Pokémon capable of making the timeline their bitch!"
"We are NOT going to mess with the timeline," Dawn said firmly, "At least heavily. At most, we'll look into figuring out how to catch Pokémon exclusive to Sinnoh's Hisuian period. Who knows what can occur if we mess with the timeline heavily?"
"Black Ops?" Kenny suggested, drawing a smack to the back of his head from Trip.
"We also ought to figure out how Natsuki and his group are doing," Mina said.
Sighing, Dawn said, "We'll get to that when we get to tha-"
"Bii!" Dawn's Celebi cried out in a happy and excited tone, right before it surrounded the reborn trainers and itself in a dome of white light energy, before said energy faded and everyone had just up and vanished suddenly.
(Obsidian Field lands, Sinnoh's Hisuian period)
The reborn trainers suddenly found themselves standing in the flower field in the Obsidian Field lands in Sinnoh's Hisuian period. Looking to Celebi, Dawn said, "...Next time, wait until we ask for a trip through time please." Celebi, looking worried it may have upset Dawn, looked sorry and bowed its head apologetically to Dawn.
The reborn trainers checked their Pokémon they had on hand, saw that they had everyone aside from Tsukune, Deelia, and Black. It was just like the last few times, the reborn trainers were sure that the Creation trio dragons will return when they return to the modern era. They just had to wait for a little bit is all.
"Well, let's go see how Natsuki and his fellows are all doing," Dawn said, "Might as well make use of this trip to Hisui to cover points that we're wanting to cover." With the others agreeing, the reborn trainers all made their way to Jubilife Village, with Celebi hanging close to Dawn and wanting to be on its best behavior after messing up.
...
"Yeah, I had to flee with Akari, Shimono, and Matsuoka after the rebellion group we joined was found by the force of Team Heart living in Johto," Natsuki said as he spoke with Dawn and the other reborn trainers in private at the Galaxy Expedition Building, "We fled onto Ilex Forest, found some shrine, a green little sprite of a Pokémon showed up, and used its powers to send us here."
Dawn nodded in understanding. So Natsuki and his group still came to the Hisuian period of Sinnoh's history, the only change is the circumstances that led to who Dawn had realized is Celebi sending Natsuki's group back in time. At least the timeline can stabilize itself as necessary when a few people decide to alter history without thinking about the consequences all that much.
"That's the little green shit that sent us back in time!" Matsuoka exclaimed angrily as he pointed an accusing finger at Dawn's Celebi.
"Well it DID save us all from meeting a grizzly end at the hands of Team Heart," Shimono pointed out.
Akari didn't say anything, but she did offer Celebi a thing of mochi which the mythical Pokémon accepted. As Celebi ate, Akari petted its head. To its credit, Celebi seemed happy with the treatment it was getting from Natsuki's autistic sister.
Dawn was also surprised to learn that Natsuki and his fellows never became villains, unlike how they were in the Team Scorn timeline. Instead they were members of a rebellion dedicated to saving Johto from Team Heart rule. Although from the perspective of Team Heart, Natsuki and his fellows were indeed very much villains. Although Dawn still didn't like how things got overall worse due to the timeline changing, Dawn will admit there are good bits here and there.
Clapping his hands together, Natsuki asked, "So what brings you guys back to Hisui?"
"We wanna see what all Pokémon are exclusive to Hisui," Dawn said, "Species variants and unique species alike." Dawn figured that while she and the other reborn trainers were all in Hisui, they might as well take care of the list of Hisuian species of Pokémon, both regional variants and species that are exclusive to Hisui. Trip, who in his previous life had lived long enough to play and beat Legends Arceus and get at least a hundred hours into it, had to put a lot into the Hisui list.
The reborn trainers showed the list of Hisuian Pokémon they were interested in to Natsuki. "...Out of all of the Pokémon on this list," Natsuki said, "Only Enamorus is impossible for you all to catch. She is a one of a kind Pokémon and Boss Lilimon had caught her."
"Fair enough," Dawn replied, figuring that Enamorus was going to be impossible in the Hisuian period as Lilimon had all of the legendaries and mythicals available in Legends Arceus. They'll have to wait on Enamorus until later.
...
(Much, much later)
The reborn trainers went all around Hisui, catching one of each of the necessary Pokémon on the Hisuian list. All fully evolved Pokémon, both regional variants and species that are exclusive to Hisui, that were caught were alphas. Dawn even caught a shiny Hisuian Zorua as it was in the same pack as the alpha Hisuian Zoroark that Dawn also caught.
Dawn had even caught an alpha Hisuian Samurott despite how she and Kenny both already own normal sized ones. Dawn was also excited about the alpha Sneasler she caught; according to Trip, Sneasler has phenomenal physical attack and speed stats. Dawn lastly caught an alpha Hisuian Typhlosion, which Dawn had a nickname idea for already.
"Big very big ho ho ho ho!" Kenny said in a hearty sing-song manner as he and the other reborn trainers looked at all of the alpha Pokémon that they had caught.
"I'm gonna have fun with my alpha Hisuian Electrode," Trip said as he pointed at the alpha Hisuian Electrode in the group that he caught, "It's dual electric grass! That's a typing that Misty should be scared of instead of bug!"
"I wonder if Cell will get along with Cell Max," Kenny said while pointing at his alpha Kleavor.
Pointing at the alpha shiny Bidoof in the group, Dawn asked, "Who caught the alpha shiny Bidoof?"
"I did," Kenny said, then went on while pointing at a shiny Eevee, "Yo Mina, you catch that shiny Eevee?"
"No, I did," Dawn replied, "And before you ask, I plan to keep him as is. I've always wanted a shiny Eevee, and Ezio fits the bill perfectly."
"We found more shinies than I was expecting," Mina remarked.
"Yeah, PLA made shiny hunting a snap," Trip remarked.
...
(Present Day)
The reborn trainers reappeared in Ilex Forest mere seconds after they went back in time. All of the Pokémon they had on hand when they went back in time were accounted for, as were all of the Pokémon they caught while in Hisui. Their balls were in sacks provided to the reborn trainers to hold their respective catches. Surprisingly, all of the Hisuian Pokéballs instead of being roughly made balls forged from apricorns were now sleak modern looking greenish Pokéballs.
"Yeah, those are called Strange Balls," Trip explained.
"Well we ought to get them sent to Professor Oak," Dawn said. Dawn was glad to have handled the Hisuian period exclusive species and Hisuian variants, aside from Enamorus who will have to come later. Now all that she and the others had to do was get on with going after the rest of the Pokémon on the Johto Pokédex. They had a long road ahead of them, but the reborn trainers just got a good number of totally sick new Pokémon to take for a spin.
They were going to have some fun.
Later, The Big Beauty landed in Cianwood City, parked, and the reborn trainers plus Leona and Omiyo got off. Leona and Omiyo went to check something out by the sandy shores of Cianwood City while the reborn trainers were alone. "Say what about finding a Shuckle around here?" Mina asked.
"I... think that Shuckle can be found in Cianwood City," Dawn said, "Something about Rock Smash." Dawn couldn't clearly remember where to find Shuckle, drawing upon vague memories from her previous life when she played HeartGold as her primary Johto remake game; Trip as Piper more or less demanded SoulSilver as her primary Johto remake game, due to favoring Lugia over Ho-oh. It was just as well of couse given that Dawn, who lists fire as one of her top favorite Pokémon types, favors Ho-oh over Lugia.
It's why Dawn caught Ho-oh and named it Alphonse, whereas Trip caught Lugia and named it Nemo.
As the reborn trainers were looking around, a kindly looking old lady came walking up to them, given that Dawn and Mina both had Ezio the named shiny Eevee and Scar the named Eevee with a scar over one of his eyes like Roronoa Zoro, out for company. "Oh my goodness, you girls have the most adorable little ones here," the old lady said, "Although I'm concerned that one of the little ones has a scar over his eye."
"Scar was like that when I saved him," Mina said, "Although it hasn't stopped him from becoming the leader of all of my evolved Eevees."
"Eevee!" Scar cried out in confirming agreement, and Scar even sounds like he has the same voice as Roronoa Zoro.
"My friends and I are here in Cianwood City to check rumors that we can find wild Shuckle within city limits," Dawn said as she scooped up Ezio, "Would you know if these rumors are true or not?"
"Oh, my adult son who does fisherman work off of the Cianwood City coast occasionally finds wild Shuckles under the rocks he and his fellow fishermen have to remove from around where their fishery is located," the old lady explained, "If its a wild Shuckle that one of you young ones wanna capture, I suggest going over there."
"Hey, Leona and Omiyo went over there to check things out," Kenny said, "We can go over there and meet back up with them to-"
"Yo, are you Jacob's mother?!" a random male voice called out and cutting Kenny off in the process, making everyone turn to see Chuck the Cianwood City gym leader come jogging up. Although he still had a bit of a gut, Dawn for some odd reasons felt that Chuck's gut wasn't as big as it used to be. Did Chuck's wife succeed in getting Chuck to lose weight?
Looking to Chuck, the old lady said, "Ah, you're our local gym leader Chuck. Yes, I am Jacob's mother." Gesturing to Chuck, Jacob's mother replied, "Why, what's going on? You looked to have just gotten here from the area of the fishery. Is Jacob or one of his fellow fishermen hurt?"
"No, but there's a different kind of trouble," Chuck began, "Two young girls came by the fishery because they wanted to check it out, as well as ask about reports of wild Shuckles."
Nodding once, Dawn said, "That's Leona and Omiyo."
Chuck perked up upon hearing Dawn's voice, leaned slightly to his side and saw Dawn and the other reborn trainers. "Well I'll be damned! It's you, Dawn!" Chuck remarked, "What brings you over here to Cianwood City?"
"Me and my crew," Dawn began, "Which includes the two girls you're talking about, are here in Johto doing work to help with Pokémon research. Part of that includes finding and catching a Shuckle, which is why Leona and Omiyo were asking about it. Now, what's the trouble?"
Gesturing to the reborn trainers and Jacob's mother, Chuck explained, "A group of Team Heart members had come on by to the fishery to see if Jacob and the other fishermen had caught any shiny Pokémon. They do so regularly ever since Team Heart took over Johto, and whatever shiny Pokémon they find among the fishermen's catches, they take. This is because the Pokémon brought in by the fishermen are still wild."
Folding his arms over his chest, Trip said, "At least they have the decency to only go after shiny Pokémon that are wild. They leave ones already owned alone."
"Not... this one Team Heart Captain lady with long red curved hair," Chuck said, "She recognized one of the two girls who showed up and is trying to force her to hand over a shiny Pokémon that said girl apparently owns."
"Ah hell, Jessie's trying to bully Omiyo out of her shiny Bellibolt again," Dawn swore, having Chuck lead the way over to the area of the Cianwood City fishery.
...
Over at the fishery, a number of fishermen stood with their backs to Leona and a scared Omiyo as they were talking to a group of Team Heart members led by Jessie. "We told you, the fishery has no shiny Pokémon to hand over," one of the fishermen, the only female fisherman among the group, said firmly to Jessie and her posse, "You'll have to check later."
"But I do know that the skittish brat behind you has a shiny Pokémon," Jessie said, "Unless you all make her give me that shiny Pokémon of hers, things here will get real ugly real quick."
"Captain Jessie, you were repeatedly told by other Johto native Team Heart Captains, as well as Admin Coryn, to NOT take shiny Pokémon that already belong to others," Merdez said, worry clear in her tone and expression, "You can get into some serious trouble here with the others if you try to force things here."
"Well I refuse to leave empty handed," Jessie said, "And a shiny Pokémon is a shiny Pokémon. We'll be netting some serious income for Team Heart if we get the skittish brat's shiny Pokémon and sell it in the private auctions that the wealthy elites of the lands under Team Heart rule take part in."
"A problem with that, Jessie," Dawn's voice called out, making Jessie and the others all present turn to see Dawn, the other reborn trainers, Jacob's mother, and Chuck all arrive on the scene. "Bellibolt already belongs to Omiyo," Dawn went on, "You have no right to-"
"Is that a shiny Eevee?!" Jessie interrupted, pointing at Dawn who held Ezio in her arms, "Ooh hoo hoo hoo! We're gonna get us a two for one special today!"
Dawn gave Jessie a dry, unamused look before recalling Ezio. "You are NOT going to be taking Ezio from me."
"I fail to see why you shouldn't have to do as I say, twerp!" Jessie declared boldly, "You're in Team Heart territory, so what we say goes!"
"Captain Jessie, I seriously advise that you do NOT try to force Dawn Berlitz to give up one of her Pokémon to you," Merdez said, "Not only will Admin Coryn be upset you antagonized someone that Team Heart does NOT wanna get on the bad side of, but Admin Hanae when he hears of it because I have no doubt he will hear of it WILL be mad."
Dismissively waving a hand, Jessie remarked, "Trust me, Merdez. I know what I'm do-"
"Hey, Jessie! Why are you taking so long in checking to see if the fishermen of the Cianwood City fishery had brought in any shiny Pokémon?"
Jessie was cut off when a male voice called out, making everyone turn to see a uniquely dressed Team Heart member come walking up, a male Team Heart grunt by his side and half a dozen other Team Heart grunts, three male and three female, behind them. The uniquely dressed Team Heart member was fair skinned, with some black hair peeking out from under the pink chullo hat with a black puff on top that he wore.
He wore a pink coat with black collar and trim, black pants, black shoes with pink shoelaces, and he had a black Team Heart 'H' on his coat over his left pectoral. The male grunt next to the uniquely dressed Team Heart member wore the standard male Team Heart grunt outfit, and he's fair skinned with long and mildly wild blonde hair. "You should have gotten back to the local Team Heart office in Cianwood City fifteen minutes ago, Jessie," the uniquely dressed Team Heart member said, "What is taking you so long?"
Jerking a thumb at Jessie, Dawn said, "Jessie thinks she can force me and my crew member Omiyo to give her shiny Pokémon that we own."
The uniquely dressed Team Heart member turned to look at Dawn, grew a bit wide eyed in surprise. "You're Dawn Berlitz," the uniquely dressed Team Heart member said, "And you say Jessie had been harassing you and one of your crew members?"
"Oh man, Admin Coryn is going to be pissed!" the male Team Heart grunt with wildish hair cried out in panicked alarm, "That is way too much pressure!"
Turning to look at Jessie, the uniquely dressed Team Heart member said, "Are you literally incapable of refraining from indulging in vices without someone with enough rank present to keep you in check?! You seriously need to check yourself, Jessie! Especially since you tried harassing someone that we were told specifically NOT to harass, also you tried harassing one of her crew members!"
Folding her arms over her chest, Dawn said, "At least some people in Team Heart have standards."
Nodding once to Dawn, the uniquely dressed Team Heart member then turned to look to the fishermen of the Cianwood City fishery. "Yes or no, do you men have any shiny Pokémon you've brought in from your fishing?"
"No we don't," the female fisherman replied.
"Then I would like to apologize for the trouble you all have been given today," said the uniquely dressed Team Heart member. The uniquely dressed Team Heart member then had Jessie and all other present members of Team Heart follow him back to the Team Heart office located local in Cianwood City.
"Dawn Berlitz," the uniquely dressed Team Heart member began as he stopped short and turned to look at Dawn and the rest of her present crew members, "If you'd be willing, please come over to the local Team Heart office in Cianwood City before you leave the city. I would like to issue you a formal apology for the trouble Jessie has caused you and your crew member."
"Fair enough, I suppose," Dawn replied, with the uniquely dressed Team Heart member nodding once to Dawn before taking off with Jessie and the others. After Team Heart was gone, Dawn let out a troubled sigh. "We should be grateful that Jessie is only a Captain," Dawn remarked, "She'd be impossible to deal with if she were an Admin."
Chuck was about to say something, but a fairly big rock near the Cianwood City fishery cracked up on its own and a wild Shuckle came crawling out. Surprisingly, it's a shiny Shuckle. Trip without a word took out a Quick Ball, threw it at the wild shiny Shuckle, and successfully caught it. "Well that was incredibly easy," Trip remarked dryly.
"Hoo boy, aren't we lucky Team Heart wasn't here to see that shiny Shuckle when it was still a wild Pokémon," Kenny said, "Hey, I say we taunt Jessie about it the next time we see her."
"Let's... try to keep things civil while we're in Team Heart territory," Dawn replied. After things at the Cianwood City fishery were settled, Dawn and her group said goodbye to everyone else before going off to the local Team Heart office in Cianwood City.
Later over at the local Team Heart office in Cianwood City, Dawn and the reborn trainers met up with the uniquely dressed Team Heart member who bailed them out of having to deal with Jessie trying to abuse what power she has. "First off, I ought to introduce myself," the uniquely dressed Team Heart member said, "I am Thierry, Second Captain of Team Heart's Johto Sector. The fellow with me who has the wild blonde hair is Azan, my Captain's Assistant. Also, Azan is my boyfriend."
Looking curious, Dawn said, "Are Officers and their Assistants allowed to date in Team Heart? What's the protocol there?"
"Thierry and I had been dating since before we joined Team Heart," Azan said, "Additionally, there's nothing barring us from being a couple."
Nodding once, Dawn said, "Fair enough. It's just that some organizations don't let their members date each other."
"Team Heart ain't like that," Thierry replied, "Also, thanks for not objecting to Azan and I dating each other despite how we're both guys."
Shrugging, Dawn replied, "I have no issue with same sex couples." In Dawn's previous life as Don, two of his five relationships were with boys.
"Homophobia is one of the forms of discrimination that Team Heart won't stand for," Thierry said, "You saying you don't object to same sex couples means you're more agreeable than we thought." Gently shaking his head, Thierry went on, "But I'm getting off subject. I would like to formally and officially apologize to you and your crew for the actions that Captain Jessie of the Kanto Sector of Team Heart keeps trying to take against you."
"Please be assured that we by no means condone Jessie's actions," Azan spoke up.
"We're getting tired of having to deal with Jessie thinking she can do whatever she wants to us just because we're in Team Heart territory and she's a Team Heart Officer," Trip scowled.
Gesturing to the reborn trainers, Thierry said, "If it helps, I'm pretty sure that Jessie may risk losing her Captaincy position if she keeps up with her current streak of behavior of thinking she can do what she pleases as she pleases when she pleases." Jessie, who stood off to the side in the room with Merdez, looked alarmed that she could have her Officer position taken from her. Maybe being threatened with the revoking of her authority can make Jessie behave.
Sighing, Dawn replied, "Well hopefully you guys can get Jessie to behave herself. Oh, and one last thing to Jessie." Turning to look at Jessie, Dawn said, "You better hope that you're never sent to Sinnoh to do any work for Team Heart."
"Yeah, we of Team Heart often have to send officers to other regions to help out, especially if the region in question is one of the free lands," Thierry said, "Although in all fairness, we do NOT want to get on your bad side, Dawn Berlitz." Holding a hand to his chin, Thierry went on, "Although your threat to Jessie DOES give me an idea on something that I can recommend to Admin Hanae of the Kanto Sector to help make Jessie behave herself."
"Wait, you don't mind it that Dawn basically threatened Jessie," Mina said, "And right in front of you?"
Shrugging, Thierry said, "Even Admin Coryn is getting annoyed with Captain Jessie's spoiled attitude right now. He's thinking of asking Admin Hanae if it's possible to send Captain Jessie to the Hoenn region to help with work there. Hoenn is also part of the Team Heart Empire, and the Admin who is in charge of both the Hoenn Sector and Hoenn itself is far less tolerant of stupidity. He'll be of great help in straightening Captain Jessie out."
"The Admin of the Hoenn Sector, huh?" Kenny said.
Nodding once, Thierry explained, "He's a long time friend of Admin Coryn's and Admin's Assistant Marshall's. A guy by the name of Ken. Ken according to Coryn and Marshall does not tolerate stupidity very well, in part due to having been a victim of Classism while growing up due to growing up in a poorer family."
That resonated with Dawn and Trip; in their previous life as Don and Piper, they suffered from Classism due to being on the poorer end of things until things picked up for them. Even to this day and in another world, Dawn and Trip are careful with their money. In a way, the Berlitz siblings can understand how Admin Ken of the Hoenn Sector of Team Heart feels.
With very little else remaining, as well as seeing Jessie being threatened with loss of rank if she keeps it up with the spoiled attitude, the reborn trainers took their leave from the Team Heart office located local in Cianwood City. They didn't have too much faith that Jessie will straighten up and at least be tolerable, and they were worried as Hoenn is the region they're going to after they're done with their work in Johto.
But with higher ups in Team Heart wanting to reign in Jessie, the reborn trainers were confident that Jessie will, one way or another, get what she has coming for her blatantly defiant spoiled attitude as an Officer of Team Heart. The reborn trainers could only hope that, at an absolute minimum, they can take care of the rest of the Johto Pokédex without trouble and then make their way out of Johto so that they can next focus on the Hoenn Pokédex next.
The reborn trainers really wanted to reach the idea of 'gotta catch 'em all'.
(Opelucid City, Unova region)
Bianca had just stepped out of the bathroom, having taken a bath. Given the considerable girth that she had going, Bianca needed a custom made bathtub installed in her bathroom for when she was in the mood for a bath. She had just finished toweling off when she was approached by a butler whose outfit was styled like a traditional butler's outfit, but it was pink with black trim. A black Team Heart 'H' was on the butler's outfit, over the left pectoral.
"A thousand apologies for disturbing you so soon after you got out of your bath, Lady Bianca," the butler began, "But I've just received a report from Admin Coryn of the Johto Sector." The butler took out and handed to Bianca a letter.
"...Dawn Berlitz and her companions are currently in Coryn's area of rule," Bianca remarked as she took the letter and opened it, removed the letter from the envelope, and read it. An unamused scowl quickly spread over Bianca's round, plump face. "...That idiot Jessie," Bianca scowled, "Is she really repeatedly antagonizing Dawn Berlitz?" Bianca scanned the rest of the letter. "She clearly isn't aware that certain people are off limits from being messed with," Bianca said.
"Admin Coryn, as well as Admin Hanae who is the Admin responsible for Captain Jessie, have both expressed worry that Jessie if her behavior isn't corrected will end up causing too trouble for Team Heart to correct," the butler said, "Admin Coryn, who went over it with Admin Hanae who agreed, feels that Captain Jessie can be straightened out as she needs to be if she's sent over to the Hoenn region and made to work under Admin Ken."
Bianca looked like she was considering the idea for a moment, before she looked to the butler. "I say it's a good idea," Bianca remarked, "What are Hanae and Coryn waiting for?"
"Your approval to go ahead and go through with the plan to try and straighten out Captain Jessie, basically," the butler replied, "Admin Coryn says that Captain Sebastian will finish his recovery within days, three days at the most, and can resume duty, so there will be no need for Captain Jessie to remain in Johto."
Bianca gave a single nod of approval. "Very well, they can do so. Wait a minute." With the butler's focus on her, Bianca said, "Prepare the necessary travel cases for me. I want to be in Hoenn with Admin Ken when he receives Captain Jessie from Admin Coryn."
The butler looked surprised. "You're planning a trip to Hoenn, Lady Bianca?"
"Give Admin Ken the necessary warning that I'll have coming," Bianca remarked, "But be sure to make it clear that I do not want Captain Jessie to be aware that I'll be in Hoenn when she arrives." A serious look flashed in Bianca's eyes. "Let's see how a lower Officer will react to it if she sees the second in command of Team Heart tell her to behave."
(Blackthorn City, Johto region)
A heavily disguised Eric was waiting outside of a stadium located on Blackthorn City Academy grounds. As Eric waited, the doors leading into the stadium opened, and out walked Blackthorn City Academy fifth years Ayane, Ideku, and Katsuku, plus first year Gold, and then Eric's only companion Silver. Silver gave off an air of accepting defeat while Katsuku looked like he had just gotten out of a rather serious workout.
"That was bar none the closest battle that I had ever won," Katsuku said, "Seriously, it came down to my Feraligatr versus yours, Silver dude."
Nodding once, Silver said, "So what do you think my odds are for what I had suggested?"
Arching a wry eyebrow, Ayane said, "Are you sure that you wanna challenge Dawn Berlitz to a battle to see if you can get passage on her flying ship for when she and her crew leaves Johto?"
"Dude, I wouldn't if I were you," Katsuku advised Silver, "Dawn Berlitz can easily sweep my entire team using only one Pokémon. You and your team would be walking into a slaughter."
Sighing, Silver said, "I know. But my funds are too low for me to attempt to pay my way, and I very much seriously doubt that Dawn will grant me passage on her flying ship pro bono. It's just that I've got to get out of Johto and over to any of the free lands."
Gold, looking like he had an idea, raised a hand. Looking curious, Ideku said, "Gold, little buddy, you don't have to raise a hand to say something. We aren't in a classroom."
"Sorry, but I have an idea that might work," Gold said, "What if we simply explain to Dawn what all Silver is going through right now, explain his situation to her, and then simply ask her to agree to take Silver out of Johto? She doesn't strike me as a greedy or mean person, I believe that she can be convinced to just give Silver the ride out of Johto he wants."
Looking surprised, Silver said, "You really think so, Gold?"
Gold nodded once before giving an affirmative hum. "She's really nice and understanding, especially towards me. Maybe I can ask her on your behalf."
"Wait, what free land do you want to go to?" Ideku asked Silver.
"Any of the free lands will do," Silver replied, "I'm not picky. I just wanna get out of Johto and into one of the free lands."
Shrugging, Ayane said, "My best bet is that once Dawn and her crew are finished with their Pokémon research business in Johto, they'll return to their home region of Sinnoh. Of course they could just drop you off in Kanto."
Silver had a look of consideration on his face. "...Actually, between Kanto and Sinnoh, I'll have to go with Sinnoh," Silver said, "It's much further away from Johto than Kanto is. But regardless, I'll take whatever free land that Dawn is willing to take me to."
Gesturing to himself, Gold said, "I'm going to go see if Mr. Kenta can help me get a hold of Dawn in a video call so I can ask her to come back to Blackthorn City Academy. If and when she does come back her, I'll introduce you to Dawn and explain things to her while asking her if she would be okay with taking you out of Johto."
Silver offered a small but sincere smile. "If you are able to do all of that for me, I will be very much grateful for it, Gold. You truly are a much better person than any other that I have met."
Gold nodded once in thanks before he turned around to go find Ideku's foster dad who is the vice principal of Blackthorn City Academy. Ideku, Ayane, and even Katsuku went along to keep an eye on the preteen autistic boy. After Gold and his group were gone, Silver walked up to where Eric was leaning against the side of the wall for the stadium. "If luck holds out for us," Silver said, "Then not only will we get passage out of Johto, but I may not even have to battle for it."
"Let's hope that our luck holds then," Eric replied, "It's bad enough I'm going to have to hide in the bottom of the large luggage trunk with a bunch of clothing and other stuff burying me. It'll suck so much if it ends up being for nothing."
Looking in the direction that Gold and the others took off in, Silver said, "I'm feeling confident that we will be able to get out of Johto and into one of the free lands just fine."
END, CHAPTER TEN
Author's notes;
This chapter sees Dawn capture Celebi, although it transports her and the other reborn trainers straight to the Hisuian period of Sinnoh's history. There, the reborn trainers learn that Natsuki and his fellows in the Team Heart timeline never went villain, instead they were good guys part of a rebel force trying to overthrow Team Heart authority in Johto. Natsuki and his fellows still got transported to Hisui though, but here because their rebellion failed and they had to run.
After the reborn trainers make several big captures in Hisui, they go back to the present and, after sending their Hisui catches to Professor Oak (don't ask how he took it or if he asked any questions), they head to Cianwood City to get a Shuckle. They run into Jessie there causing trouble, but another Team Heart Captain comes in and makes Jessie stop while apologizing to Dawn on Jessie's behalf. Team Heart is in NO position to antagonize Dawn right now.
Over in Opelucid City in the Unova region, Bianca learns of how out of control Jessie is being, and agrees to the idea of Coryn and Hanae having Jessie go to Hoenn for Admin Ken to straighten out, even adding that she'll make a trip to Hoenn so she'll be there when Ken receives Jessie. Meanwhile in Blackthorn City in the Johto region, Silver is able to get a little bit of help in summoning Dawn to Blackthorn City Academy so he can get passage out of Johto, never revealing he's taking Eric out of Johto with him.
The next chapter will see the last Captain of the Johto Sector of Team Heart introduced, maybe some flashback scenes to explain some background for Coryn and Marshall, and maybe Silver (plus Eric) getting passage out of Johto and into one of the free lands. Until then, take care.
