Gargoyles
Biker Mice from Mars
"Business Partners"
Ch 6.
"They're still there!" Lex called out as he came gliding back down to the assembled groups. Having just done a quick recon of the Castle. "Well, that's one small bit of good luck." Throttle sighed with blatantly unmasked relief.
"Thank the Great Engine Master fer that, I'm really starting to miss Lil' Hoss and the thought of him up there all alone is starting to get on my nerves!" Modo grumbled, fidgeting like nervous mother hen.
"Oh, calm down, He aint up there all alone, our bikes are with him, so they'll keep the poor little guy out of trouble." Modo slowly turned and shot an evil eye at the smirking white Martian. Vinnie was just as concerned about his bike but wasn't about to let it show.
"Will you two knock it off, we've got a serious problem here, and really need to think up a way to get our rides back." The normally chill Throttle snapped at the knuckleheads. He was just as worried about his Lady, that and his pride was still smarting from kind of getting his tail handed to him by Xanatos.
"You guys couldn't just carry us back up there like you did getting us here?" Charley asked Hudson standing next to her. "We might have a chance of getting you back up to the Castle lassie, but yon wee fellows, not a prayer, at least not tonight." The Elder Gargoyle regretfully replied matter of fact.
"Hudson's right, the winds are all wrong. We'd have to go all the way to the south end of the island just to hope to catch an updraft strong enough to do that." Brooklynn added with a very well experienced eye, leaning into the wind, feeling it push against the beak on his face and how it moved through his long white hair.
"The airstreams can be tricky to calculate especially depending on the seasons, and the temperature of the buildings, heat rising off the streets & cooling in the night, all kinds of factors. It's hard enough for us to get around the city some nights." Lex explained.
"Unless you've been doing it as long as I have, then it's easy as pie." Broadway smugly added to both boast and be a part of the conversation. "If you had as much EXPERIENCE with gliding as you did pie eating, I'd believe that." Lex countered with. '"Humph!" Broadway snorted, crossing arms over his chest, while attempting to suck in his big stomach. Tension officially broken everyone there laughed at the brotherly jibing.
"So, I guess another Air Drop is off the table, and No Vincent, before you can even suggest it, We Are NOT fighting our way up over one hundred floors and thru a medieval castle, despite how much FUN you think it'd be!" Throttle quickly pointed out.
"I swear sometimes I don't think I know you at all!" Vinnie exasperated petulantly. "Or maybe it's because We know You Too Well!" Charley said. "Yeah, I'd def go with that one." Modo added. "Humph!" Vinnie snorted, unintentionally mimicking Broadway.
"I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but why's it so important we get your bikes back, I mean they're just motorcycles after all, aren't they?" Lex and Broadway exchanged glances while fighting to keep their mouths shut after hearing Brooklynn say that.
"It's because they're Very Special Bikes, that's why. They've got some really advanced hardware and weapons built into them that would be really bad if they fell into the wrong hands." Charley jumped forward answering Brooklynn, before all 3 Bros could get their breath's back after hearing his statement, also cutting off their emotionally charged replies too.
"Yeah, but all the power to em if they Try to hurt our bikes." Vinnie scoffed. Modo and Throttle chuckled too, recalling the few times some baddie had been dumb enough to try! Lex's ears perked up at the mention of this. "Advanced Hardware as in Alien Technology!? Boy I want to get a look at these bikes now more than ever!"
"Hey, help us get our bikes back and I'll take ya on a ride that'll blow yer wings off!" Vinnie promised. "Cool!" Lex smiled; barley able to contain his excitement! "We'll give you all a ride none of you'll forget, I just want to get my poor Lil' Hoss before anything bad happens to him, cause if Limburger helps this New York Hot Shot loose on our bikes…" Modo growled, his frustration reaching boiling point.
Lex wasn't to be put off. "What do they run on? Something like gas or an alternate energy source? Do they have internal computerized control systems? Oh, are the systems positronic?" Scientific Curiosity all but bubbling over, He almost couldn't stop asking!
"No, they operate on an alpha wave bio-synaptic generated pulse algorithm." Charley answered. "Double Wow!" Broadway leaned over and wrapped a wing around his small clan mate. "Don't mind him, he just has an inquisitive mind." Mood significantly lightened again by Lex's irritated struggling. "Hey, I don't mind." Charley chuckled. "It's kind of nice to have someone I can talk to that ACTUALLY understands what I'm talking about." She shot a look over her left shoulder at the Martian trio.
"Man, this blows! We can't fight our way up the building, can't climb or glide up there without being seen and shot down, so how ARE we gonna get our bikes back!?" Vinnie rudely blurted out, letting his impatience and frustration get the better of him.
"Well, if we're going to do something, we need to think up a plan now, dawn isn't all that far off. "Hudson interjected. 'He's right, we don't have that much time left." Brooklynn said as well.
"Why, what's so special about dawn?" Vinnie asked giving the gargoyles a confused look. "Oh, its because…" Broadway started to tell them but got interrupted by an impatient Throttle. "For the same reason we don't run around in public without our helmets on Vinnie, they don't want to attract the attention of the humans, which would be very hard to do if they flew around in broad daylight in one of the biggest cities on this planet."
'No, its because…" Broadway started to explain but again got interrupted, this time by Brooklynn. "Yeah, that's it, we don't want to draw attention to ourselves. That Is IT EXACTLY!" Shooting a stare at Broadway that sternly told him to Shut Up! Broadway's did just that.
"What's wrong with attention, I Like Attention!?" Vinnie asked with a crazy smile. "It becomes a problem when it becomes a literal addiction." Charley pointed out with a heavy implication of disapproval. "I still don't see the problem." Vinnie's crazy smile getting bigger, knowing full well it would just annoy Charley, which it did.
"So, what Are we gonna do?" Modo bluntly asked.
"How about we dress up like delivery guys and sneak into the building!' Vinnie suggested.
"Delivering what? Pizzas? When is the last time you saw it take 3 guys to do that?"
"Guys I've got an idea." Charley said.
"How about we try to mail ourselves in?" Vinnie tried again.
"Al 3 of us? Where we gonna find a box that big, much less the postage." Modo sighed.
"Guys, listen I've got an…." Charley tired again but…
"Oh, how about Charley Ma'am tries to get a job up there, or at least sneaks in as an employee!?" Modo tossed out.
"Will you listen to …"
"Nah, Bad idea Big Guy. We don't have time to set that all up and why would she get access to the Castle right off, so nada to that" Throttle cutting her off and shooting down Modo's idea.
"Oh, for the love of…." Charley growled.
"Why not, it worked against Limburger a couple of times, and She got to wear some cute little outfits, it could work, especially if she wears a mini skirt!" Vinnie leered while remembering some past adventures.
"Excuse me Hudson, I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but do Gargoyles have hearing better than humans, like with really high-pitched sounds?" Charley asked turning to the Elder Gargoyle.
"Hmm, somewhat better than that, Lassie but if you mean like with animals, then no. Our ears are nice and big but not that big, and no insult taken lassie." She smiled up at his reply. "Good, I just wanted to be sure, but you and your friends might want to cover your ears just in case."
All 4 Gargoyles, who'd been watching the Mice's little back and forth like they were at a Tennis match, exchanged questioning glances but did as she advised. Giving them a few seconds, she pulled a small metal object from her shirt pocket and held it to her lips and took a very deep breath.
She blew with all her might into the little object, but no apparent sound other than her blowing happened. The Gargoyles looked at her and each other. The Biker Mice had a very different reaction though.
"AAAOOOCHHH! WHOA MAMA! YIEEE!" All 3 yelled paws flying up to hold their now sore and aching big ears! "Cheese, Sweetheart! You Know We Hate It When You do that!" Vinnie snapped at her!
"OK, YOU BLOCK HEADS! PUT A MUFFLER IN IT, I'VE GOT AN IDEA SO SHUT UP AND LISTEN!" Charley yelled at them having gained their full attention she put the very handy little dog whistle back in her pocket. "See, Spunky!" Broadway repeated.
"Wow, this is so cool!" Lex uttered to himself. Whack! "Huh, hey what the...!?" His head snapping around startled then up at Brooklynn gliding above him. "You won't find it as cool if you slam into the side of a building, so stop playing with that thing and watch were your going!"
"I am watching where I'm going!" Lex replied peevishly and ran his hand over the top of Throttle's black ringed and metal studded helmet where Brooklynn had smacked him. He hoped it didn't get a scratch or something. He didn't want to return it damaged.
The Trio glided in the dark night around and through the concrete and glass canyons of the Manhattan skyline, searching for updrafts to carry them up to Castle Wyvern. It was about 15 or so minutes since they'd leapt from the roof where Hudson, Charley and the Mice waited on them. Searching for the updrafts and the most unobserved route they could find. Having learned from past experiences that Xanatos kept a very close watch on the air space around the top of his building. Especially around the Castle.
"So, what can it do!?' Broadway asked with a noticeable hint of jealously. Lex got to wear the helmet because He had the best technical experience of the trio and was the only one whose head was small enough to fit in one.
"The Visors an Energy Sheild!" Lex said excitedly and demonstrated by making it pop on and off. "It's got visual enhancements, and graphical heads-up displays! Temperature, and humidity, and atmospheric density readings, it's even Air Conditioned!" Lex almost giggled like a child who just got the hottest new toy!
"Wow!" Broadway gasped, both impressed and again slightly jealous. "Why don't you check to make sure its working for the reason we're doing this!" Brooklynn called out, while yanking the distracted Lex away from crashing into a chimney on a roof top.
"Oh, uh heh, thanks." Lex embarrassedly gulped and joined his two rookery brothers and glided higher up to a safter altitude. "Trio to Rooftop, come in rooftop over." A few quiet seconds passed before the reply came back.
"Heh, no need for the proper com lingo little buddy, it's a two-way link so you can just talk normal." Modo chuckled on the other end. "Yeah, being formal aint a big thing with us Martian Freedom Fighters!" Vinnie added.
"Neat, you sound like your right here next to us!" Lex replied once again unable to keep his being impressed by the Martian technology out of his smiling voice. "The Helmet's radios are pretty great, but they don't have unlimited range, which is why we need you guys to carry it up to our bikes!" Throttle pointed out talking into Vinnie's helmet.
"Just crank its speaker up to the max, and our bikes will be able to hear us, and we can tell them to come to us, all as simple as that. "Lex nodded but was interrupted by Brooklynn. "OK, we'll swoop around and glide up and over the next block and that will carry us right to the Castle, we'll call back then, OVER & OUT!" He called out, reaching over and turning off the helmet's radio.
"Hey, why did you do that?" Lex gasped at the sudden jab against the side of the borrowed helmet on his head. "Because they don't need a play by play of our movements, and we don't need any distractions being this close to Xanatos's building, and I don't want them to hear everything we're doing." Brooklynn gruffly told them.
"Why not?" Both Lex and Broadway asked in unison. "I don't want them to know because I don't trust them, and before you ask it, I'll remind you we haven't even known them for an hour yet, so they haven't exactly earned my full trust yet."
Broadway & Lex exchanged glances but kept their opinions to themselves, to which Brooklynn was silently thankful. They'd gotten past the "What would Goliath Do" phase of his hopefully temporary clan leadership, and as previously mentioned, they'd all learned the hard lessons of being too trusting in this strange modern new world.
"Plus, I want to get a look at this Battle Bikes for myself without their owners there, to see if they're as dangerous as they claim." Brooklynn said and didn't fail to notice Broadway and Lex exchanging another glance, albeit with small sly smiles. They knew all too well how Brooklynn felt about motorcycles. It was something of a Tender Subject.
"Ok, lets get this over with, so get into formation." Brooklynn called out and took point with Lex, and Broadway sliding in behind him. Moving with masterful precision and experience of both natural born instinct and a lifetime of gliding the wild winds of the medieval cliffs in the Scottish Highlands they soared.
Wings pulled in, they dove towards the street below, building more and more speed, faster and faster! At the last second, wings extending to full, and they shot up the side of the building across the street, like shadows, totally unobserved by the New Yorkers on the streets below.
Repeating the same stunt as the Mice used earlier, using the momentum of their dive to climb, they intended to shoot up into the sky and dive down onto the tower where the bikes were waiting. What they hoped would prove to be a stealthy approach.
"OK, get ready, stay alert and don't drift off!" Brooklynn called out, as they neared the top of the building to be ready for the approach to the Castle! Soaring above the old building and in between the satellite dishes, antenna and at odd art deco structures, and even some gargoyle statues.
Barely clearing the top of the neighboring building, when out of nowhere they were attacked! ZAP! ZIT! ZACK! One of the normal large spotlights atop the Castle suddenly snapped towards the Gargoyles and blazed away, firing odd red beams!
"Hey!? Look Out! Watch It! Get out of the way!" They all cried out dodging and diving erratically to keep from getting hit by the beams! "You think they spotted us!?" Broadway asked. Brooklynn and Lex didn't reply.
"I think we need a new plan!" Brooklynn yelled while dodging another weird beam, which abruptly stopped firing at them, and became a normal spotlight again, lighting the sky above Manhattan again. "So, what was all that about!?" Lex asked looking around in a very confused state!
"Well, it did stop us from getting to the Castle!" Brooklynn growled as the trio now circled the top of the building they tried to sneak up on the Castle from. "What kind of a ray was that though, it didn't do anything to the building, it isn't damaged or anything!" Lex pointed out as his scientific curiosity amping up to full.
"Yeah, usually those lasers the Steel Legion Robots fire at us blow things up, and really sting too!" Broadway added. "Hey, you guys OK over there? Yeah, what was that wicked Sci-Fi lightshow!?" Modo, and Vinnie cut in via helmet radio-link.
"We're all fine, and no idea what the lightshow was, it didn't seem to be dangerous or anything..." Lex answered but was interrupted by the helmet breaking out with a beeping! "Uh, the helmet is beeping and has a little flashing symbol on the left side, what does that mean!?"
"What color and what does it look like?" A slightly muffled Throttle asked. Lex told Modo who relayed it. "It's picking up an energy spike!" He called out and gave Lex some instructions on how to access the Helmets other functions. Lex tapped at the helmet's hidden side buttons as told.
"WOW, it looks like the roof top is on fire!" He excitedly gasped as the visor switched settings. Brooklynn & Broadway looked at Lex, to the rooftop and at each other. It looked like a normal NYC rooftop to them. Brooklynn just shrugged.
"It looks like it's going out, no wait the energy is just moving!" Lex yelled out so the other two could hear him, as well as the group back on the other rooftop. The Smallest of the Trio went silent, his eyes getting bigger by the second.
"Uh, uh...!" Lex uttered watching the invisible show. "What, what is it!?" Brooklynn barked out, wanting to know what was happening. "Uh, I think we should Leave, and Right Now!" He pointed at the rooftop.
The Previously invisible to the naked eye energy flames became visible! The 4 corners of the rooftop burst into reddish flames! 8 sets of glowing energy, around the 8 fake concrete gargoyles at the multiple corners!
The Real Gargoyles got a bigger shock when their fake cousins started Moving! ROAR! All 8 of them bellowed into the night! Crunching and tearing noises followed as they ripped themselves free from their mounted positions! Mortar, Concrete, and Metal twisted, tore and shattered as it melted, mixed, and merged in a horrific fashion in front of their eyes!
As bad as their roaring and snarling was, but it got worse when they all spouted out arms, legs, tails and even wings when they didn't have them before! A mix of steal and stone! Bodies with claws, fangs and stone wings laced with razor sharp metal! Worst was their red glowing Eyes and open mouths, with waterspouts sticking out of them!
"RRRAAAARRRRGHH!" All 8 roared, heads snapping towards the trio in unison!
"Yeah, let's go, like right now!" Brooklynn Shouted and swooped away, quickly followed by Lex and Broadway! Lucky that they did as the space they had just inhabited was filled by waves of fire coming from the fake gargoyle's mouths and eyes!
"Whoa!" Broadway gasped narrowly avoiding a fireball! "This would be really cool, if it wasn't totally terrifying!" Lex gulped! "Less Talk, More Gliding!" Brooklynn ordered by all but trying to push the other two along! It only got worse when the Statues erupted off the roof and started chasing them!
Firey Energy Balls ripped past the trio, miraculously not getting roasted midflight! Brooklynn snarled when the near misses hit the side of a building and exploded! Sending charred and smoking debris falling towards the street below! Thankfully it all fell into an empty alley and not the busy pedestrian crowded street just around the corner!
"Higher, go higher, get above them!" He yelled while swinging around and attempting to do just that! Lex and Broadway following. The Things right behind, still blasting away, but now the blasts exploding more or less harmlessly in the empty night sky.
"How can they fly like that, there made of stone!?" Broadway asked as fireballs just whisked past his wings! "It's that weird energy, its flowing all around them, somehow it's letting them break the laws of physics!" Lex tried to explain, taking every chance to steal a glance at the monsters with the borrowed high-tech helmet.
"Too bad Elisa isn't here to enforce it, yowch!" Broadway joked despite the fiery explosions scorching his wings! "Maybe we should start taking the Law into our own hands!" Brooklynn almost chuckled. "Split up, make it harder for those things to blast us all at once!" The Trio cut off in different directions, in well-practiced moves.
"What about the bikes!?" Lex called out. "Let's save ourselves first, then worry about that!" Was the reply as Brooklynn avoided being incinerated! Both He and Broadway had 3 of the Monsters following them, while Lex had two after him.
"Broadway!" Brooklynn yelled, making a gesture, his large green friend nodded and abruptly veered towards him, with the 3 monsters following! Diving as fast as they could, their stone pursuers almost literally on their tails!
Moving in perfect unison, and with well worn and trusted movements, they swooshed past each other by no more than a scales width, before darting in different directions! Sadly, the expected result wasn't forthcoming!
Slamming to stops in midair, weird energy crackling and snapping around them, the stone monsters hovered acting confused before letting out blood shattering roars! "Well, that didn't work, here the come again!" Broadway gulped frantically flapping to keep himself from toppling down out of the sky.
"Where's Lex!?" Brooklynn asked beside him, while frantically looking for their smaller comrade! Unable to answer because He was once again dodging energy blasts, Broadway simply pointed with a talon! Brooklynn could only gawk as he took in the flight and plight of his smaller rookery brother!
Using his smaller size, greater speed and maneuverability, Lex swooped down, around and through the roof top's chimneys, antenna, and other obstructions, frantically trying to lose the Monsters, but they either just blasted or smashed their way through them, slowing them down just enough for Lex to gain a slight lead on them!
Taking advantage of this, Lex caught the breezes in the upper sky and raced to the tall tower on the castle! "LEX NO, don't try…!" Brooklyn shouted but was interrupted by energy blasts from the monsters after them!
"Roar!" The Monster's snarled and growled, having closed the gap between them and Brooklynn and Broadway! The Gargoyles could only watch as the things took aim to zap them out of the night sky!
KER-ZAP, KAH-BOOM! "RAARRGH!" The Explosions rocked the air! Both Brooklynn and Broadway looked to see which of them had been hit but were shocked to find that it wasn't either of them!? POW! "ROAR!"
The Monsters stalled as laser bolts blasted chunks off them! Looking they saw two of the Mice, Modo, and Vinnie blazing away at the creatures! Using their own helmets built in auto zoom and aiming functions, it brought the beasts into their range!
Modo's arm cannon powerful plasma charges hitting the monsters dead center, while Vinnie's hand blaster, not having the same power but he took it with his usual flamboyant stride choosing to aim for more challenging targets!
"Betchya I can take out more than you!" Vinnie chuckled, challenging the large gray mouse! "Oh, yer…" Modo started to say but Charley cut him off. "Seriously Vinnie?" She snapped at him. "Uh, yeah so not the time!" Modo added but the smile on his face told a different story! One that Vinnie didn't miss.
"Closer, bring them closer!" Throttle shouted out, gesturing at the same time! Nodding Brooklynn told Broadway to do just that! Luckily the mindless monsters eagerly following, not seeming to care or notice that they were getting reduced to rubble! Bellowing with non-sentient rage they followed regardless!
Using their entire repartee of moves, the two gargoyles led the monsters into the barrage from the mice, getting chipped away more and more! "Here, catch!" Throttle yelled and threw his own blaster to Brooklyn! Catching it he started firing at the creatures!
The Beasts shook under the impact of the laser fire, they seemed to pause and consider the situation for a few seconds, before the 3 towards the rear split off and soared like evil looking comets towards their two comrades perusing the lonely Lex!
Between the combined firepower, the monsters didn't last long! Each one gave out one last angry growl before burning up, their inner energy bursting out, reducing what was left of them to harmless ashes that floated away on the wind.
"I'm going after Lex!" Brooklynn barked and swooped around, moving as fast as he could to catch up! "Uh, ruh, right I'll uh stu stay here!" Broadway gasped breathlessly gliding down to the others on the roof. The chase having taken all the energy out of him, flopped down in between the Mice, Charley, and Hudson.
Lex wasn't doing much better! It was a long way up to the castle on top of the world's tallest building! Especially while being pursued by monsters trying to kill, you! "All most there, all most there, I can do this, I can!?" He repeated to himself, hoping to actually start believing it. The Insane Roaring and Searing Laser bolts were a very good motivating force though!
"Lex. Look out behind you!" Lex turned at the distant shouting from Brooklynn. Eyes nearly popping out of his head at the 5 Monsters baring down on him, mere inches behind him! Blazing Fangs and Claws hungrily grasping for him!
Brooklyn fired at the things, but unfamiliarity with the strange weapon meant that most of his shots missed their marks, but he kept trying, desperate to save his friend! "Come on, go down already you rock heads!" He growled, frustration and despair threatening to overtake him!
"ssksks Lex, can you hear me, Lex?" Static hit Lex's ear followed by Throttle yelling at him via the helmet's inner speaker. "Huh, what, yeah, I can hear…" He started to reply but got cut off when Throttle started yelling again. "THE HELMET, THROW IT!"
Lex almost asked but he realized what Throttle was trying to get across. The Monsters were on him, and he stood no chance of beating them to the tower, which was not that far away! Ripping the helmet off He threw it with all his might down at the waiting bikes!
The Helmet fell down onto the tower, clattering around the motorcycle's wheels. "Yo, Bikes!" Lex heard Throttle's voice thru the speakers, shouting some odd sounding instructions, the powerful engines roared to life!
"AAAHHH!" Lex cried out as a stone hand cruelly gripped his tail with a crushing grip! Another seized his shoulder, with claws digging in! "LEX!" Brooklynn bellowed, horrified at seeing the small gargoyle being surrounded by thy things, encircling him, getting ready to rip him to shreds with burning talons!
VRRROOOOOMMM! The Monsters and Gargoyles were drowned out by the new sound of 3 super powerful motors revving up with ear shattering intensity! The Martian Bike's headlights snapped on with blinding lights aimed up at the action!
Exploding up off the tower on trails of flame bursting from their rockets, jetting straight towards Lex and the Things! Thwap! A rope and grapple shot out from the front of Vinnie's red rocket bike and wrapped around Lex! Its rockets increased in intensity!
It rocketed past them, ripping the small gargoyle out of their thing's cruel clutches! They hung in the air, confused and seemingly unable to grasp what was going on! The Black and Purple Bikes took full advantage of their befuddlement and opened fire with their greater firepower! BOOM, POW, BLAM! They all exploded into clouds of dust and ashes which got parted even more by the bikes sailing through them! Wings extending from underneath their handlebars, they flew towards the rooftop with their owners.
Throttle's Black Cruiser slowed, allowing Brooklynn to grab on and take the seat, riding back to his friends! Unable to stop himself, a big smile broke out on his beaked Face. "Man, I really do miss having a bike!"
The VHS cassette ejected with a Ker-clunk from the recorder connected to the Castle's external security cameras. Owen held it up and gave it a stern look. The debate on what he should do with it raged within him selves.
It was a short debate. His only choice now as how to best to dispose of it. The Security Office did have a very powerful magnetic tape eraser, but the large powerful shredder in the office across the hall was a more tempting solution.
Securing his grip on the cassette he makes his way to the door. "Ah, Owen there you are, I've been looking for you." Xanatos replied jovially standing in the now open doorway. "I heard something of a hubbub going on above the castle, so I cam to check and see if you knew what was going on, and it looks like you've already got the security footage for me. Good Man Owen I can always count on you." He smiled and took the cassette out of Owen's hand.
"Erm, yes sir. I was just bringing it to you." Owen quickly stuttered. "It appears that the Gargoyle Trio had some kind of confrontation above the building." He replied, looking at the tape in his employer's hand.
"Really? Well, I'll certainly give this footage a very close look. Things seem to be getting very interesting. First, we've got uninvited guests breaking in, giving our poor security detail all kinds of trouble. Flooding the castle with knockout gas, and putting a few of them in the medical office, plus my new and interesting potential business partner coming to town, and now the Trio are getting involved as well. Yes, it's looking like the next few days will be very interesting to say the least."
Xanatos smiled at Owen again, blatantly enjoying the situation, he turned and made his way to his office, to watch the tape on his large TV screen. "Sigh, yes sir, very interesting to say the least." Owen stepped into line and followed him, just keeping the reluctance out of his voice and posture.
They made their way down the hallway, walking past a janitor pushing a mop with bucket down the hallway. "Oh, excuse me sirs!" He said growingly and stepped out of their way. "Oh no, your fine, keep up the good work." Xanatos replied nonchalantly forgetting about the incident immediately.
The janitor watched them walk away. He chuckled under his breath. His oddly shaped, and bulbous head with a long black tube attached to it shaking slightly. He made sure his fake looing mustache and goatee were still attached before he returned to his mopping. "Oh, yes. Things will be getting VERY INTERESTING Indeed, you primitive poltroon!" Karbunkle sneered to himself.
