Prince William

'What the hell?' I thought as we arrived at the battlefield and stopped on the high hill, watching the chaos.

"It's Aragon!" I exclaimed as Dad and Uncle Axel nodded.

"Why are they attacking us?" Asked Edward, confused as Dad sighed.

"Long story short, he's accusing me of something without proof," said Dad as I nodded.

"Then that's called trespassing and staring war without probable cause," said Uncle James as the rest nodded.

"What do you want to do, Hugo?" Asked Nicolas as Dad thought for a moment before looking at me.

"What do you think, William?" He asked as my eyes widened and I thought before speaking.

"We have to stop this, but try not to kill any men unless it's absolutely necessary," I said as they nodded.

"You heard, disarm, and capture," said Dad as everyone nodded, and we launched to the battlefield.

I will say it was fairly easy since when most of them saw us, they froze and stopped while a few continued. I guess they weren't expecting the king to come right away to handle this.

Some men immediately surrendered while others continued to fight; however, seeing Uncle James disarm them was fun.

It was hard since the majority of the men wouldn't give in so easily without a fight, but in the end, we won.

"Man, I should come over often to Whelsire since I get to practice my swording skills here," said Uncle James as Dad rolled his eyes.

"Haha, very funny, James," said Dad as the rest of us couldn't help but chuckle.

I knew Dad and Uncle James didn't always get along well, but they learned to work it out.

However, occasionally, Uncle James throws shots at Dad, causing him to be scolded by my Aunt Vivian or Mom.

"Got the last one," said Uncle Axel as we nodded.

"Well, I think we're all done and ready to go," I said as everyone nodded.

"Thank you so much for all your help and support," I said to the guards as they smiled.

"Thank you for coming to our aid, Your Majesties," said a guard as I smiled.

"Good Job, William," said Dad as I couldn't help but smile.

"Thanks, Dad," I said, smiling as the guards pulled the carriage full of prisoners.

"Not bad, Willy. I see you got that from me," said Uncle Axel as Dad and Uncle James raised their eyebrows.

"I think you mean me," said Uncle James as Dad rolled his eyes.

"I believe it's his Mother," said Dad as I looked at him confused. Everyone looked at each other and then nodded before laughing.

"You know what? You are so right, Hugo," said Uncle James, happy.

"I remember that day very well indeed," said Uncle Axel as I looked at him confused.

"What day?" Asked as they all smirked. Dad shook his head.

"Years ago, when your Mother and I were young, we had a duel match," he started as my uncles cut him off.

"And your Mom not only beat him, and pushed him on the dirt..." Said uncle Axel.

"She did it wearing a pretty dress and heels," said Uncle James as I looked at Dad, nodding as I chuckled.

"Yup, I totally got it from Mom," said Edward as we all chuckled.

Then, I noticed one of the guards laughing, which concerned me as I looked at him. I raised my eyebrow and nudged Dad as he looked at the captured guard, confused.

"What's so funny?" I asked him as he continued to chuckle.

"You think it's an honor to get something from your Mother, little prince? She's nothing but a whore," he said as Dad and I immediately took our swords and pointed at him.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't end you right now?" I asked him as he smiled.

"Because you'll miss the chance," he said, smiling as I frowned, confused.

"What chance?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"Saying farewell to your Father," he said, smiling. I looked at him, confused, before looking around.

I saw nothing but trees all around. Then I looked back at the man as he laughed. I saw down as he pushed a button on his hand, and my eyes widened.

"Dad!" I yelled immediately. Looking at him, I noticed Uncle James pushed Dad aside as he took an arrow for Dad.

We all rushed towards him and examined Uncle James before I turned to see the guy laughing again.

Then, another arrow flew towards them, but this didn't look like any arrow; it was all black with a red end.

"Move!" I exclaimed as Dad and Alexander picked Uncle James quickly and walked before the arrow hit a tree, causing an explosion we barely missed.

"What the hell?" Asked Edward, confused as I turned to the man, looking upset.

"Curses!" He exclaimed, angry as I rushed to him and punched him, making him drop a button on his hand.

"Calm down, William, don't kill him yet," said Uncle Axel as I looked at the criminal upset and took the button before showing it to them.

"We need to be careful going back. This place is filled with traps, and many more arrows are targeted at you, Dad," I said as he looked shocked.

"Yeah, and I'm not taking anymore for you," said Uncle James, and we all looked at him surprised.

"James!" Exclaimed my Dad and uncles as I chuckled slightly as did Adrian and Alexander.

"Glad to see you're still alive, uncle," I said as he smiled.

"Someone had to protect your old man," he said, smirking as Dad shook my head before rolling his eyes.

"Alright, let's help you up, Dad," said Alexander as he and Adrian helped him up into a wagon.

"Let's head back, but be careful where we step on," I said as they all nodded, and we headed back.

While we rode back, I was behind Dad and Uncle James. Since the prisoners were at the back, I decided to keep a close eye on him.

"Thanks, James, for protecting me with the arrow. I owe you one," said Dad as I heard my uncle slightly chuckle.

"Naw, forget about it, Hugo. Take it as a favor I owed you, and now we're even," he said, smiling as Dad looked confused.

"But... You don't owe me anything, James?" He asked, confused, as my uncle nodded.

"But I do. You kept your promise, and you have been taking care of my sister and making her so happy all these years," he said, smiling.

"So, thank you for that, brother," said Uncle James, smiling as Dad smiled.

"Thank you, brother," said Dad, smiling.

"But watch your back from now on because these arrows hurt a lot," said Uncle James as they chuckled.

"I thought you'd be used to them by now, uncle, since you did train a lot with arrows when becoming a knight," I said as he smiled.

"That was a long time ago, William. We're not young anymore," said Uncle James as I chuckled.

"How did you know there would be an explosion before it happened?" I asked Dad, smiling, and turning to the prisoner.

"He actually gave me a heads-up and said I should say my farewell to you, Dad, and that's when I reacted," I said as he nodded.

"Did a wonderful job, William," he said, smiling as I returned the smile.

"Thanks, Dad," I said as we quickly returned to the palace.

Once we arrived, we noticed the palace was covered with guards who were ready for a command.

My Father quickly ordered them to stand out and let the people know they had turned back safely and to escort the prisoners to the dungeons.

Dad, Alexander, and Adrian took Uncle James to see the Doctor while the rest of us went to find the rest of our family.

'If I know my Mother well, she must have taken shelter at the highest place in the palace. Which is probably the star auditorium.' I thought.

"This way," I said as they followed me to the auditorium.

As soon as I saw the doors leading to the auditorium, I smiled at seeing Oscar and Liam, my Mother's guards.

They quickly saw us and smiled before opening the door and stepping aside. As we entered, I saw everyone.

Upon seeing us, they quickly stood up and walked towards me, asking us a bunch of questions.

"What happened?" Asked GrandDad.

"Are you alright?" Asked GrandMum.

"Where is Everyone else?" Asked GrandDad Roland.

"My sweet boy, are you alright?" Asked Mom as she hugged me before beginning to inspect me.

"Yes, Mom, we're alright," I said as she raised her eyebrow.

"All of you?" She asked as I sighed and she looked startled.

"Mom, calm down. It's not that bad. We're all alive and talking, and that's the good news," I said before looking at Aunt Vivian.

"Aunt Vivian, you'll need to follow me," I saw as she looked worried.

"Uncle James received an injury and is being seen by the doctor right now, but he's awake and well," I said, her worry slightly shifting as she nodded.

"James is hurt?" Said GrandDad Roland, worried as GrandMum, Mom, and Amber also looked worried. I looked at Aunt Vivian as she nodded.

"Follow me, Uncle Axel. Do you think you can lead the rest to the meeting room? We'll be there shortly," I said as he smiled and nodded.

As we walked to see my uncle, I could feel the nerves and questions they would ask.

"How did this happen?" Asked GrandDad Roland, confused as I smiled at Aunt Vivian, and she understood what I meant.

"He saved someone, didn't he?" She asked as I nodded.

"James took the shot for someone else?" Asked Amber as I nodded.

"Who?" Asked Desmond as we arrived at the door and were outside as I looked at Mom, shocked.

"Hugo," she said as I nodded, and everyone looked confused.

"Hugo?" Everyone said, confused. I nodded before knocking on the door, which opened to reveal Adrian smiling.

"You just missed the show," said Adrian as he opened the door to reveal Uncle James resting, smiling at us.

"Oh, James!" Aunt Vivian cried as she rushed to his side, worried, as he smiled at her.

"I'm fine, Vi. It's just a small fracture," he said as Dad smiled.

"He was very lucky he was wearing his armor suit," said Dad, crossing his arms as Mom raced to him.

"Yes, just a small fracture on his clavicle, nothing major," said the Doctor as we saw his sling.

"He'll need to wear his arm and shoulder sling for a few weeks to heal; make sure he does," the Doctor said, packing his things.

"Oh, I'll make sure he does," said Aunt Vivian sternly, as Uncle James smiled and Mom giggled.

"Just like when we were at royal prep," said Mom as they nodded.

"Just like old times," said Uncle James as we all nodded and chuckled.

"Thank you, Doctor," said Dad as he smiled and nodded.

"Anytime, your Majesties," he said as he departed, and we all looked at Uncle James.

"Can you walk?" Asked GrandDad Roland as he nodded.

"Of course," he said, trying to stand up but couldn't until Adrian and Alexander helped him up. He smiled nervously.

"It's going to take some time to getting used to again," he said as we slightly chuckled.

"Thank you, James," said Mom, smiling as she hugged Uncle James, and he smiled.

"I had no choice, Sof. I couldn't let something happen to my brother," he said as Mom smiled.

Since day one, Dad has always said that he and Uncle James didn't get along very well.

He wasn't happy about my parents getting married since Dad wasn't the nicest to Mom when they were younger.

Which, in my opinion, seems like lies because I have seen them. There isn't a thing my Father wouldn't do for Mom; he loves her unconditionally.

Although it didn't seem like my uncle approved, they started to get along better over the years.

After today, we all knew that the small level of distrust my uncle had towards Dad was gone.

"Uncle, are you feeling well for a meeting?" I asked, smirking as he nodded.

"Of course, nothing can stop me now," he said as we all chuckled.

"That's Good because I asked Uncle Axel to take the rest to the meeting room, and they should be ready for us," I said as they nodded and we made our way to the meeting room.

Once we arrived, we saw everyone there, and I mean everyone; however, I don't think that would sit well with Dad.

"Liz, why don't you take our cousins a walk around the library"? I said as she turned to argue with me, but Dad stopped her.

He gave her a stern look as she signed and nodded. I knew she wanted to stay here and listen, but she was still young.

Mom and Dad agreed to let her join as soon as she turned 18. Until then, it was only training for her. She didn't like it but listened to Dad.

The only people allowed in the meetings were the heirs to the throne or the guards, like Alexander and Edward.

Athena, Edmond, Adrian, Daphne, and I were heirs. We had to stay and listen since we were the heirs to the throne.

My cousin Charlotte stayed sometimes, and sometimes she didn't; however, this time she stayed, which made me wonder why.

As we saw Liz, Arianna, and Laylah leave the doors closed, we began our conversation about what had happened.

"This was clearly an attack on Whelsire," said Uncle Axel as GrandDad, Dad, and Mom nodded.

"Agreed, no doubt it's because of the letter," said Mom as we looked surprised at her.

"How did you know it was those same people who attacked us?" I asked as she smiled.

"At first, I didn't until Rosalie confirmed the flag of Aragon," said Mom as I looked at Rosalie standing back.

She was clearly trying to stay behind, but from where I was standing, I could see her slightly smiling at me.

"How did you know it was them, Rosalie?" Asked Dad as she took a step forward.

"I know the flags of every nation, Your Majesty, and once I saw it, I knew it was them," she said as Dad nodded.

"That's very impressive," said Uncle Axel as everyone nodded.

"So, we know Aragon is attacking," said Edward.

"What are we going to do?" Asked GrandDad as Dad looked at me.

"What do you think, William?" he asked me, smiling. I looked at him and thought momentarily.

"I say we question the men we captured," I said as Dad thought.

"But they could take hours," said GrandDad Roland as I nodded.

"I know that, GrandDad, but it's the only choice we have for the moment," I said as they thought.

"One of them, in particular, is responsible for the explosion and arrow that was intended for Dad," I said as their eyes widened.

"He's the one that's going to give us answers then," said Uncle Axel as Dad paused him.

"Hold on a second, Axel. I don't think he will spill the beans so easily," said Dad, and Mom nodded.

"He's right on that, Axel. Remember what happened last time? The enemy was here and refused to talk at all," said Mom as Uncle Axel nodded.

"We'll put more guards for security to protect the border of the Whelsire and the village," I said as Dad nodded.

"Good, we need to protect the villagers, but it's best not to alert them," said Dad as Mom nodded.

"We can say it's training for the guards," said Mom as I nodded.

"There's one thing I don't understand, though," said Edmond as we looked at him.

"We all have trade treaties with Whelsire; why would they automatically assume it's them?" he asked, confused.

"We have the largest trade treaty system in the Realm," I said.

"They believe that because we have the most resources, we can do the most damage," said Edward as I nodded.

"Does that mean we're all next?" Asked Daphne, concerned as Uncle Nicolas shrugged.

"Who knows, but I do know this: Whelsire is in trouble since they placed a bounty on your head, Hugo," said Uncle Nicolas.

"What do you mean?" Uncle James asked as Uncle Nicolas took out a paper and showed it to us.

"This arrived with urgency just a few minutes before the explosion," said Uncle Nicolas as he showed us a drawn poster of Dad with the word murder written on it.

"It has the royal stamp of Aragon," said Rosalie as everyone's eyes widened.

"Mom, have you heard anything from Lucinda?" I asked as she shook her head.

"Nothing, and I'm beginning to worry now. Malorie won't listen to anyone," said Mom as we nodded.

"What color were the men's armor?" Asked Rosalie as everyone looked at her.

"Red and black," I said, slightly confused as her eyes widened in shock.

"Don't you think it's odd that the flag colors and knights' armor are different colors?" She asked as everyone began to think.

"They're not the same people," said Uncle James as she nodded, and everyone looked confused.

"But the flag is from Aragon," said Adrian.

"But the knight's colors are different," said GrandDad Garrick.

"Who do we know has those colors?" As we all thought for a moment as Mom, Aunt Astrid, and Amber gasped.

"King Lyvot's guards," they said as our eyes widened.

"But it doesn't make any sense. How is that possible?" Asked GrandMum, confused.

"Aren't they the same place since Lord Ben and Malorie live in Aragon?" Asked GrandDad Roland as I shook my head.

"Not exactly," I said, noticing Rosalie stepping in with a map as she played it on the table, and I smiled.

"Aragon is all of this land; however, Lord and Lady Malorie control this section of Aragon," I said as they listened.

"Even though they are all ruled by King Lyvot, the kingdom is basically separated into two," I said as they listened.

"Is that even possible?" Asked Uncle James, and Mom and Aunt Amber nodded.

"With a treaty of power," said Mom as Aunt Amber nodded.

"It's rarely done, though," added Aunt Amber.

"Why?" Asked Aunt Clio, confused.

"It takes away power from the king," added GrandDad Roland as Uncle Nicolas nodded.

"Many don't want that since they want as much power as they can hold to rule," added Uncle Nicolas as Aunt Vivian nodded.

"They tried doing that with Zumaria to overthrow my Grandparents, but they saw it and executed them," said Vivian, as we noted.

"So, in other words, Aragon has two kings?" Asked Desmond as we all nodded.

"So the real question is, who attacked?" Asked Dad as we all nodded.

"My guess, it was King Lyvot," said Uncle James as we thought.

"Why?" Asked Aunt Vivian.

"Remember what Rosalie said about the colors? Out of all those knights, not one of them has the colors red, yellow, and purple," he said, as we thought.

"It doesn't make sense for King Lyvot to send all the guards when Lady Malorie and Duke Ben have a ton of guards with their symbol," I said.

"Does King Lyvot have his own flag?" Asked Uncle Axel as we thought momentarily.

"He does," said a familiar voice as we all turned to see Rosalie.

"It's a red dragon," she said as my eyes widened.

"The red and black colors the knights wore," I said as they nodded.

"Something is not adding up here," said Dad as Mom nodded.

"No, it's not; I know Malorie wouldn't do something like this," said Mom as Rosalie nodded.

"She's right; they would have sent their secret weapon," said Rosalie, as everyone looked confused.

"What is It?" Asked Dad, confused as Rosalie looked at me before answering.

"A dragon," she said as their eyes widened.

"Well, I'm no expert, but I didn't see a dragon," said Uncle James as the other guys nodded.

"Then it wasn't her," said Aunt Amber as everyone's eyes widened.

"Wait a minute, suppose it's true; why would King Lyvot attack on his own then? Without the approval of Lady Malorie?" Asked Edward.

"Because he's the main ruler of Aragon, and he can do it if he feels his people are being hurt," I said as Dad nodded.

"What if Malorie is in the dark?" Asked Mom as we thought.

"And they used her symbol to frame her?" Added Aunt Astrid as our eyes widened.

"That could be why they used her flag but not her men," said Dad as I nodded.

"What if they're trying to frame her like they are with you, Dad?" I asked as everyone's eyes widened.

"We need to get answers right away," said Dad as we all nodded.

"We could start by figuring out who King Lyvot deals with and who his closest friends are," said Mom as everyone nodded.

"That's a Good idea. It might give us an idea of where to start," said GrandDad Garrick as everyone nodded.

We will all do some investigating and then meet back here in a few days, deal?" said Dad, as everyone nodded before they all sat down. It was time to leave.

"I am sorry about your party, sweetheart," said Mom, upset as Edward smiled.

"Are you kidding, Mom? This turned out to be a great party," he said as we all chuckled.

"I got a chance to practice my swording skills; for me, it was practice for what I want to do," he said as we all chuckled.

Once we had all said goodbye to our families and they had departed, we all agreed to call it a night.

I was about to head to my room when I passed by a certain room, debating whether I should enter.

I took a deep breath and walked towards the door before stopping to knock on it. It was then that I heard her soft voice.

"Come in," she said as I opened the door to see her standing from her vanity. She looked at me smiling.

As soon as I stepped inside, she raced towards me and quickly placed her small arms on me, hugging me tightly.

I placed my arms around her waist and pulled her closer to me before slowly pulling apart to see tears falling from her eyes.

I placed my thumb on her face to wipe her tears away as she smiled at me before hugging me again.

"It's okay, Dove, I'm okay," I said as she quietly sobbed in my arms as I tried to calm her down.

Once she was calm, I pulled her away and walked her to the window seat so we could sit down.

"I thought I would never get to see you again, especially after I saw the big explosion," she said as I smiled at her.

"You have very little faith in me, Dove?" I asked her, smirking as she smiled slightly.

"I am capable of taking care of myself, little Dove, and I am also able to take care of you," I said as she smiled and hugged me again.

It was a bit odd that suddenly, my little Dove was clingy with me. It was almost as if she imprinted on me like a little duck does with their Mom.

'But why?' I thought as I continued to hug her before she slightly pulled away and looked at me, smiling.

"Promise?" She whispered low as I smiled and nodded.

"I promise," I said, smiling at her. She returned the smile and placed her head on my shoulder.

"Did you like my gift? Or better yet, my apology, my little night rider princess?" I asked her as she removed her head from my shoulder and looked at me, shocked as I smirked at her.

It was then that she stood up, slightly nervous. Knowing exactly what I meant, I stood up and turned her around to see her looking down.

I grabbed her chin and brought her face up to see her beautiful dark blue, almost purple eyes looking at me. She looked at me with a bit of fear as I smiled at her.

"Yes, I know it was you that night I met weeks ago, Dove," I said as she looked worried.

"I knew it the moment I laid eyes on your Pegasus; everything came clear to me," I said as her eyes widened.

"You mean you knew in the beginning?" she asked as I chuckled and nodded slightly.

"I had my doubts but your riding skills and eyes gave you away," I said as she looked surprised.

"Please, don't say anything," she said, worried as I raised my eyebrow at her.

"Why would I tell anyone that could hurt you that information when my job is to protect you?" I asked as she looked surprised.

"My job is to protect you now, Dove, and that's what I planned to do. The only thing I ask is that you don't betray me," I said as she smiled and nodded before hugging me.

"Thank you," she whispered as I smiled and hugged her.

"And thank you for bringing me Lily," she added, pulling away as I smiled and kissed her forehead.

"You're welcome, Dove," I said, smiling as she smiled before biting her lips nervously.

"William, there's something you should know," she said as I raised my eyebrows, confused.

"What is it, Dove?" I asked her as she sighed.

"Don't trust my Father; no matter what, don't do it," she said worriedly as I looked at her confused.

"Why do you say that?" I asked her as she stood up and began to pace slightly nervously.

"Rosalie?" I asked her as she looked a bit terrified before speaking.

"You've clearly seen what my Father did to me, his own daughter; who's to say he won't hurt you or your family," she said as I raised my eyebrow.

"Where are you going with this?" I asked her as she took a deep breath before looking at me.

"Take care of yourself from him and don't ever trust him, or leave him alone with one of your family members," she said as I didn't like this one bit.

I wanted to ask her more questions, but I didn't because I knew very well that pushing would end badly again.

I needed to give her time; after all, it seemed she was slightly coming around. I mean, at least she's admitting that her Father abused her.

Slowly, she trusted us, and I just needed to wait a bit more for her to come clean herself.

"Alright, Rosalie," I said, taking hold of her hand as I sighed in relief.

I don't know why, but I think there is something more that she knows that she isn't telling me. Again, I hope she tells me with time.

'For the safety of herself and my family.' I thought as I pulled her closer, and she placed her arms around me again.

Queen Sofia

I woke up and smiled happily while in my husband's arms; yesterday was a terrifying day.

I almost lost my husband and my brother altogether, but the good thing was that they survived the attack yesterday and are healing perfectly.

I turned around to see him still fast asleep as I smiled and kissed him on the cheek before claiming his lips.

As soon as my lips brushed with his, I felt his response immediately deepen the kiss. Once we broke apart, I brushed his hair slightly, and he smiled at me.

"What a wonderful way to wake up," he said, smiling as I giggled.

"I would say so, dear husband, it's better than having me worry all night about you," I said, raising my eyebrow as he chuckled slightly.

"I'm sorry, Sof. I promise not to do it again," he said as I smirked.

"You sure? Because you are accustomed to doing that to your dear wife King Hugo?" I said as chuckled nervously.

"What can I do to make it up to you?" He said, pulling me closer as I thought momentarily before claiming his lips.

"Stop running into danger," I said after breaking the kiss as he smiled.

"I can't lose you again. I need you to promise me you'll stop running into danger as I promised you," I said worriedly as he placed his hand on my cheek and smiled.

"I promise. No more running into danger without thinking properly," he said as I smiled, and he brushed his lips to me again.

It was a sweet yet passionate kiss that deepened, making me crave even more. I pulled away and giggled before looking at Hugo, smirking at me as I shook my head.

"Ah, Ah, Ah, not until you are fully healed," I said as he smirked at me.

"But I am healed," he said as I shook my head.

"Nope, and count to think of it. This will be a good punishment for having me worry," I said, smirking as he looked shocked.

"But Sof," he started as I got up and shook my head.

"No, buts dear husband, and if you'll excuse me, I have something to do," I said, getting up as he sighed.

"Well, I guess I will get up too since my wife is ignoring me," he said, slightly upset, trying to get up as well.

"Oh no, you, don't get back into bed, mister. You heard the Doctor," I said, crossing my arms and raising my eyebrows at him.

"Sof, I'm fine," he said, chuckling as I shook my head.

"Your orders were to rest, and that is what you will be doing," I said as he looked slightly annoyed.

"But I'll be bored all day, Sof. You won't even be here to keep me company," he said, trying to be upset as I smirked at him.

"Who said I'm not going to keep you company?" I said as he looked at me surprised as I smiled at him.

"Just because I am dressed dear husband doesn't mean I am leaving, I am staying right here with you," I said as he smiled and came back to bed.

"This way I make sure you stay in bed," I said as he rolled his eyes.

"I love you," he said as I smiled at him.

"I love you too," I said as he pulled me into a passionate kiss.

Knock Knock

As we pulled away I couldn't help but slightly giggle as he groaned, because of the knock at the door.

"That will be our breakfast dear husband," I said smirking as he changed his upset frown into a smile.

"Get back in that bed Mr. I mean it," I said as he smiled and nodded before getting back into bed comfy as I smiled and opened the door.

"Surprise!" said our children as I smiled and stood aside for Hugo to see.

"What's all this?" asked Hugo as I smiled and Elizabeth came in holding the breakfast tray with Izzie, and Edward.

"You didn't think you were going to have breakfast alone now did you?" asked Elizabeth smiling as she set the tray down followed by Edward.

"That's right Dad, were having breakfast as a family," said Edward as I smiled and went over to the bed.

I took my seat next to Hugo as Elizabeth took a seat in front of him and handed him his plate before handing me mine.

"Thank you sweetheart," said Hugo to Liz as she smiled and sat in-front of Hugo.

"Thank you, darling," I said to Edward as he smiled and nodded.

"How are you feeling, Daddy?" Asked Elizabeth, taking a bite of her food.

"I'm alright, princess," he said, smiling. Elizabeth looked at him and smirked before looking at me.

"You don't have to be all brave for me, Daddy; I'll still admire you all hurt," she said, smiling as I giggled.

"But I'm not hurt; your Mother is just exaggerating," said Hugo as I raised my eyebrow.

"I am not; I am simply following the Doctor's orders," I said as he rolled his eyes playfully as Elizabeth giggled.

"See, Daddy, don't complain. Just rest up and get better. And you'll start by eating all your breakfast," said Elizabeth as he chuckled and nodded.

"Yes, ma'am," he said as he began to eat his breakfast, and I smiled.

Sometimes, whenever I couldn't convince Hugo, I knew Elizabeth would be the other person he listened to, and how could he not if she was his joy?

"Dad, what are you planning on doing?" Asked Edward as I looked at Hugo as I, smiled, and he shrugged.

"I think you should ask William that. I am on bed rest and don't think your Mom will allow me to move for today," he said as I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"You can make decisions from here, and I'll spread them out there," I said as he smiled.

"Alright then, we'll have a little meeting with William and Dad," said Hugo as Elizabeth shook her head.

"GrandDad is going to visit Uncle Axel today to see how he is doing, remember?" said Elizabeth, as Hugo nodded before looking at me.

"Just William and Rosalie, then," I said as he nodded.

"I will let them know after breakfast," said Elizabeth. We nodded and continued to have our family breakfast.

We talked and laughed the whole time, and I couldn't help but smile; this was exactly what we needed: a little family time after the disaster.
