I don't own Rising of the Shield Hero or Live a Live…

Has it been a short while since Oersted and his... companion? Party member? That's even the right word? Mein left the castle. They went to an Armored shop, so she could find suitable armor for their journey.

As he waited for her to pick a armor, he went looking for the wheres on display... His eyes wandered over the assortment at some of the armors... if he called these that.

- The Dalmasca Armor set: a sort leather midriff shirt that resembles a bra with curved armor pieces on the sides of the neck, plated bracers and leather fingerless gloves, strips of leather around his waist with a metal plate in front, black trousers under metal and leather greaves, and flat brown.

- The Rosso Armor set: in terms of color, is very nice: dark grey with crimson highlights. The design itself? Where to begin? It is a connected one-piece bearing that exposes one's stomach, it has armguards, gloves, thigh-high boots, torn red stockings, and what can only be described as a butt fur cape.

Oersted wonders what type of adventures would wear any of this. He then heard Mein calling him over. The Knight approached the counter where Mein and the owner were; she showed him the armor he wanted to buy. It is just the breastplate, but has an elegant ivory color...although the stomach was left exposed. Overall Oersted must admit she had fine taste.

But...

How much?" He asked, the owner widened. "Well the armor is made with the finest ivory and..." he stopped when he saw the impatient look of the knight."... is 200 silver" he admitted. Oersted pounded before, asking the man. "how much protection does it give?" he asked; the owner explained that it gives decent defense against magic attacks, though it doesn't provide much protection against physical attacks. With that Oersted said. "Do any cheaper but more practical model that provides physical defense without reducing mobility." He asked, much to Mein's objection.

But the man was surprisingly understanding. "I think I have a few sets," he said, going to the back of the shop. Mein frowns at the knight. "You said let me use..." Oersted interrupted her. "I said I would let you pick; I just met you, so I am not going to waste the coin on pretty but ineffective armor." he said, the woman widened before , groaning begrudgingly. It is clear that she normally gets what she wants without question. It is obvious to Oersted that she might be the daughter of some high-ranking noble who pays the king to let the task of saving the world doubt their family and increase their glory. He wouldn't be surprised that the rude knight that went to Itsuki was a relative of hers... or that rose-dressed man at Motoyasu's party.

"So I heard you took down the General single handle." She said to try small talk. He turned towards her. "Well... I wouldn't say 'took down'; the man had some limiter that held him back." He said, which shocked the adventurer. "Are you kidding? Do you have any idea you fought?" She asked... The Knight narrowed his look, which caused her to realize. "ok, dumb question... Garland is basically one army; even in his weakened state, he is a powerful individual." she said

"I would guess he is careless. After the fight, he said to them, 'still finding burn marks from his last Testing session.'" He guessed, and Mein stared at him. "well... you... are not wrong. He..." She was interrupted by The man returning with a few chest plates.

Place them counter; they weren't as pretty as the other ones but were a lot more practical.

Mein just started, then murmured something about not 'dressing as dirty commoner'; Oersted patted his finger on the table, gathering her attention. "Oh, they look... lovely." She said in gritted teeth.

"Anyway these are the best, I would get, these range from 100 Copper to 3 silver." the man said. Oersted told pick her up and try it on, then to wait for him outside as he was going to buy supplies. Before giving her four silver coins, pay the man. "Oh, before you leave, don't you want to upgrade your armor?" the seller asked; Oersted declared the offer, but that Mein said. "But it looks so... old." The Knight turned towards her, a bit insulted. "I have you know, I had this in every battle I've been in, long before I arrived in this kingdom," he said proudly.

"Oh, you are not here? I mean to ask you, since never a design like your armor." the armor seller said; Oersted widened. Mein smirked. "Oh glad you ask, you see Sir Oersted the veteran sword..." She was revealed to be Oersted's identity when he stopped her. "A sell sword, Am a Sell Sword" He lied, much to his companion's confusion.

"Ah, Merc, I don't get your type in here often, but anyway, do you need anything else?" He said, the knight pounder for a bit, before responding. "Yes, I heard that the King was called Adventurers to..." He was about to finish, but the owner interrupted him

"Oh Right, yeah the Four Cardinal heroes, man never thought i'd see the day..."He said.

"Yes... speaking of heroes, I heard a rumor about the heroes, is it true?" He asked... which surprised the man. "Hmmm, none of you are aware of..." He said. This peaks the knight's interest. "really.." he now wonders why the advisors lied or...

He thanked the man before leaving the Armor shop. He went to nearby shops to buy a medium backpack, a few cleaning products, a few essential supplies, and information about the Kingdom. When he finished, began heading back to the shop, when he saw...

'Mein' left the shop in a sour mood; she was now wearing what the owner described as Fully frill-free armor of firm, tanned leather... but it was just a simple breastplate and faulds made out of brown leather held together with belts over her purple dress.

But she took a deep breath; she needed to be calm; once she gained the Sword Hero's loyalty, she would finally gain what was rightfully hers...

Speaking in wish, where was he?

She looked around until she saw him looking at a wagon being held by... a pair of large birds. She approached him. Oersted started the birds with bewilderment and fascination. "What in heaven are these?" He asked as he extended his hand to touch one of them. But it caused the creatures to become agitated and shriek longly, scaring them both.

Then suddenly, a laugh was heard. "hahaha, Gotcha."

The Duo turns to see behind them, a very good-looking man with black spiky hair that droops down over his scared eye. But what most noticed about him... was his odd attire. Wearing a black coat with rolled-up sleeves, gold buttons, and a large collar, grey pants, and black cowboy boots. And the straight piece of wear is... a black fedora that sports a black feather.

In short, this man looks like he is from an Earth who stepped into Melromarc. Oersted wonders if those priests summoned more individuals without talking to anyone...

Mein seemed didn't find the man odd-looking...or she was just fanding ignorance.

The Man continued to laugh. "ahahahah sorry about that. The Boys don't like to be touched by strangers." he said, patting the birds and calming them down. Mein approached the man. "We are so sorry for you scaring your Filolials, sir..." she apologized. The Man just smiled."Is alright and the name's Brain. Pleasure." He said tipping toward them. Oersted just raised an eyebrow. First of all, his name is Brain? and secondly, what did Mein just call those birds? Filolials?… The Knight cleared his throat. "So Sir Brain..." but halted by the fedora man.

"Oh please, 'Sir' was my father, please just call me Brain," he said with a wink. Knight looked at him, before continuing. "Right...Brain so why is your wagon held by these... Filolials," He asked, the fedora man just looked momentarily puzzled; Oersted realized that he might just ask a very dumb question... But Brain just laughed. "Ahahahah, well I need them to transport my deliveries." He explained. Mein steps in. "Oh, you're a courier?" She asked, trying to change the subject. "Yup, my very own delivery company." He replied with pride. Oersted now wonders if they don't have horses in this world. As it is on cue, he notices a knight riding on one... "maybe not," he thinks.

"...yeah the bandits running through the countryside causing trouble," he told Mein. The hero snapped out his thoughts; it seemed Mein was talking with this Brain fellow about a bandit problem in the kingdom's rounds. Apparently, bandit activity had increased due to the waves forcing guards to focus on projecting the cities, leaving the rounds and smaller villages vulnerable. "Welp, I need to get going; it was nice to know you," he said as he prepared his birds to travel. "Yes... it was... a pleasure." She said fanding pleaness, but Oersted asked the man. "Wait! Would you give us a ride?" He asked, surprising the redhead. "Huh?".

"Hmmm it depends... where is your head?" Brain said, the knight explained that. Well me and my companion here, want to grind for levels and–" Mein interrupted him "But Oersted!... " The knight scowled at her. "I mean sir Oersted we can just go forest to-" But interrupted by the Knight. "Yes yes yes, i know, but inhabited mostly by...low level monsters" He said, surprising Mein for already knowing. "I want to hunt stronger monsters... high level monsters" He replied, which shocked two individuals. "WHAT?!" She yelled in horror, is he actually insane...

While Brain stared at him, before laughing. "Ah As if, ahahahah." laugh until noticing the knight stoic exposed. "... your Serious?" He asked, Oersted just nodded. The fedora man rubs his chin in thought. "well if you do not find any high level monsters around here..." Mein let out a sigh of relief... until the man informed them. "buuut there area in forest west end of the forest where a river is, low to below mid level monsters and sometimes a few mid level can encountered, a lot monsters from Mioso are migrated to here over the year." He told them.

Mein attempted to voice her disapproval, but Oersted ignored her and he inquired how much for the ride. The fedora man simply replied. "Hmmm, 40 copper." Immediately, the knight gives him the coin. The Man looked at the blonde Before smiling. "Welp, a deal is a deal. ALL BOARD" He announced as began to prepare the wagon.

Mein tried to protest, but the Sword Hero had already climbed onto the wagon. After a moment of contemplation, the redhead relented and joined him. As the wagon lurched into motion, the two companions settled into their seats, unaware that their driver wore a sly smirk.

Later

As the two companions seated inside Wagon. Mein asked the knight. "Sooo, why didn't you know the sword hero? The man replied, "Simply since I am not from this world, the shopkeepers would increase their prices," he explained... of course, he lied.

As just Mein wanted to complain... he made a point... but if she wants the frame needs hiding their identities wouldn't do... "So how long are you planning-" but to her frustration the hero cut her off "Again I just met you and don't trust you, so until then you keep your mouth closed about this" he warmed, and she glared at him.

They stood there in silence, and Mein spoke up. "So how do you feel about other heroes?" She asked; the knight gave her a deadpan look. "... is rude talking others their behind," He said, causing her to widen, flush and try to explain herself, before Hero began chuckling. Blinking, her narrow eyes in Annoyance.

After laughing, "Sorry about that, but anyway they... they like new plants, they haven't yet developed fully. He said. Mein didn't quite understand but nodded. Oersted asked her opinion about them.

Mein pounder for a bit. "Well the Spear, what I saw, he was quite charming, handsome…

" she began, but stopped when she caught the knight's deadpan expression. With a sigh, she concluded. " ... a pervert." she finished.

Motoyasu was all three heroes, reminding him of… himself, which despite it, he was deeply ashamed of. He badly knows the guy, yet he tried to kill him yesterday. He seems like a good person, just not a bright one.

"Bow... is well what I heard, he's reserved, polite... and that all know," Mein realized she didn't have much to say about the archer.

While Oersted pondered about Itsuki, what he told last night, he seemed the most normal out of them, he wasn't the popular guy in his school nor did he have strict parents...but there was something off about his story which seemed… off. He seemed to want to be a hero more than anything... which deeply disturbed him, because it reminded him how he was before...

"As for Shield, he seems... normal, nothing special... although he did the guts to punch you in the face when no one else would." she finished, causing the knight to let out a chuckle. "Yeah," he replied. Just then the wagon stopped, with their driver announcing their arrival.

Two get out of the wagon and find themselves on the open field. Behind them, there is a wooden bridge across a river itself, flowing through a forest in the distance. "Welp, this your stop, just stay medium distance so that the river will find plenty of monsters," The fedora man, Oersted, thanks him and bids farewell. "You too, see, yeah," He said, tipping his hands to them before riding off.

Two companions looked and nodded to each other before walking towards the forest.

After a short walk, they encountered some odd Yellow ball-like creatures with cartoonish faces. Oersted just stared at them in confusion, Mein quickly explained. "They called Balloon, inorganic monsters commonly found around Melromarc" she finished... which only bewildered Oersted even more. "inorganic?" he questioned before Mein would say, the 'Balloon' creatures noticed them and leap that them

He unsheathed the sword; the knight slashes through a trio of the Balloons.

Suddenly in the vision, a series of numbers appeared once he slew the ballon: 1 EXP (3x)

Before he could dwell on this, he heard Mein scream as one managed to bite her arm. Oersted rolled his eyes, poking it, his blade making it let go, but the little gremlin just popped.

Oersted just stared into space, a wonder that just happened snapped out of his stupor. Mein rubbing arm arm. "Are you alright?" He asked, causing female adventure to widen. "yeah, that... that one managed to slip through my attack, but don't worry it was just a light bite." she nervously said; Oersted gave an unimpressed look.

"Fine," he said, sheathed his blade; Mein just glared but widened when he turned towards her. "Bye away. Did you notice some numbers appearing?" he asked, to which she nodded. This confirms Naofumi's theory about EXP sharing. However, he received a notification: New Sword

He pressed it and brought a sword list and a new addition. Pressing in caused a dim glow that made the sword change, pulling it out, he saw what looked like an odd all-Yellow sword.

Yellow Balloon Sword

HP UP (small)

Mein upon seeing it, she comments. "Oh, so the legends were true." Oersted stared at her, she elaborated. "they say that Cardial Weapon can use souls of slayed enemies to change the form," she finished. He doubted that, but keeps that in mind.

As they walked, they encountered more of those balloon creatures; the Knight soon realized that these things were very weak, as a kick was all it took to kill one. He did "miss" some, which always attacked Mein while she slayed them; he noticed that her swings were very sloppy. She swung like she never got into a fight. After slaying the creatures, they continued and over course, they facing many different creatures;

When they reach the river, they encounter a rabbit-like creature with a horn called Bunicorn, which Mein said are related species to the Usapil

Sometime later, a saw a trio of Cute rodent-like creatures called Mu sitting on tree branches, upon seeing Mein throw their nuts, she tried to kill them, but he let them be, must to her annoyed.

Short time later they found a horde of small purple Mushroom beings with little limbs called Morphean Mushrooms, after killing them, suddenly the body disappeared, must do they confusion… then he served a new notification: You Level Up

He Informed Mein what happened, and she began to praise him. "Sir Oersted that amazing you level up twice, you… Sir Oersted?" he asked upon the hero's blank expression. He started his status "…I didn't feel any different." He said. Mein gave a nervous look. "Well normally there aren't any physical changes…" She tried to explain. "...but you will be able to do things you previously thought impossível and you might learned new skills and spells upon leveling up." she finished.

Oersted gave a puzzled expression. "learned upon level up? become stronger through killing? That doesn't make any sense!" He Taught. Before deciding to continue through the woods.

After that, they encountered something that provided a bit more challenge, it was a monster known as Steelpio; a large scorpion-like monster with a single red eye and metal-like carapace. It embraced from trees, it ambushed then, lucky Oersted relaxes were able to evade its claw. The creature lashed out with its claws, before slamming its stinger at them. Oersted parry the creature strikes, while Mein, to his own surprise, summoned a spell called [Wind Blow], which unleashed a transparent fist of air that struck the Steelpio. Seizing the opportunity, Oersted leaped onto the creature's back, it attempted to use its stringer, he quickly used [Wave Slash] cutting it out, it let out a piercing cry of pain, before Oersted impaled its head, ending it.

As the beast collapsed, He received notifications: 942 EXP

You Level Up

He stated that screen in annoyance before turning it off, he saw Mein panting once she recovered, they continued….

They journeyed onward until they stopped; Oersted swiftly grabbed Mein and pulled him toward a nearby tree. Taking a look, they spotted what Mein referred to as Meep, which was munching on grass. At first, Oersted thought it was some pig with a sighed hump, before he noticed a striking green pigment adorning the upper part of its body. Mein suggested it might be moss growing.

Oersted looked at Mein. "Now I want you to slay it" He told her, leaving her in utter disbelief. "WH–" Oersted placed his hand on her mouth; the Meep oblivious, continued eating grass. "I want to kill it," he repeated; Mein gave a nervous expression, prompting the Hero to offer some guidance. "Use stealth, sneak around until you close, and then strike," he told her.

Mein took a deep breath before coughing and slowly walked up the meep, gripped her sword tightly and attacked the pig monster... stabbing it through the rip, casing squealing and thrashing about. Startled, she stumbled backward and fell, she tried to crawl away from the monster, turning its attention toward her, charged toward her. Oersted leaped in front of Mein, delivering a decisive blow to the Meep, right between its eyes, killing it instantly.

Mein pants heavily, she thanked the hero who projects her... looking up to see not a worried hero, but a scowl glare. He grabbed her collar and scolded her. "What were you thinking? You were lucky that thing didn't immediately attack." Let her fall to the ground again. Mein glares at the knight, never in her life, treated like some commoner. This Hero, like her Mother, just criticized and disregarded everything she did. She wanted to burn this worm to ash, but she knew despite her higher level, the sword hero destroyed her and left her for the beasts.

She just held her head. "my sorry, I will do better." she said, begrudgingly. The Knight gave an annoyed look before turning away, which angered her more.

He went towards the pig thing to grab Mein's sword. He noticed something odd: A cluck of the creature's flesh and its whole skin was missing, he initially thought that some monster somehow skinned it and took the cluck, but the cut was too clean.

After a few moments of pondering, he gave Mein her sword. He told her to rest. The knight sat on a rock, while she looked around. "Umm... Sir Oersted where i sit?" She asked, he pointed to a rock, begrudgingly she sat on it.

Brings up his HUD/Menu, and after a few presses, he finds an inventory for [ITEMS]:

- Balloon skin (10x)

- Bunicorn fur

- Bunicorn broken horn (2x)

- Morphean Mushrooms corpse (7x)

- Morphean spore dust (4x)

- Steelpio meet

- Carapace pieces (2x)

- Meep meat (2x)

- Meep Skin

He pressed on the meat, which an opinion for [Drop] appeared. He pressed it, but a warning appeared to say: (blade is currently sheathed, please unsheathed it and try again). Removing it, he pressed the icon again, which asked how many, pressing just (1) caused the meat to embrace the blue jewel on the sword, dropping on the ground.

Two were surprised by this; the knight grabbed the meat and inspected it, he was surprised at how clean the cut was.

Then to Mein's disgust, Oersted took a bite of the meat, After a few moments, he devoured the meat, and after finishing, he burped loudly. "Hmmm not bad" he said, looking at Mein. "Want some?" he asked while pulling another slice, she gave a nauseated look.

After eating the slice, he went Sword menu, where found a new sword as been added: Meet Meat Sword

Raised Eyebrow, turned the Menu off, gestured Mein to get up, and gave her backpack to her. "There is still a lot of meat left, there are a few small bags inside." He told her. Coughing she grabs the small bags... and sees the bag with their funds. She gave the bags to the knight who started to cut the meat. Mein sneaked to reach for the bag...

But she felt a blade pressing through her neck, turning she saw Sword Hero with a bored look. "You don't think of taking our funds are you?" he said, like a disapproving father. Mein collapses, shaking in fear, the knight grabs the bag of coins, looks at it for a bit, turning towards his thievious companion. "You know; it sees the sword can store monster parts automatically, upon killing them, which it's..." he stopped, finding the right words... while coughing towards the woman.

"For lack of a better word 'Eat' then to create new swords, those are not eaten, they are stored within the blade" He led closer toward her as he said. "store items can be removed through Menus, that coming out Sword jewel... So, would it happen if I manually store an item?". He puts the bag against the blue jewel, and the bag glows before disappearing.

The Knight served a notification:

Bag of coins

- Do want to absorb it -

or

- Would you like to store it -

He pressed [Would you like to store it], and a notification appeared: Coin Count unlocked - Coins are now displayed on the Menu. And sure enough, the menu has three icons on the upper right of the corner. Showed how many Copper, Silver, and Gold pieces he currently had in store.

Turned out that the Menu, he stared down at Mein, who now was trembling. He leads even closer. "You know, for a noble that was very dishonorable, Have you no class?" he said, causing Mein to widen in horror and confusion, "how?" she asked out loud.

"Oh please, you thought I was dumb?" he said, before adding. "or were you hoping that since I am from another world, I wouldn't tell?" he asked in a low menacing tone.

Mein was sweating, thinking. "how?" over and over again in her head, before the sword hero gave a simple response. "I knew you were noble because... of your dress." He said, confusing her, before clarifying. "It was not the type, but... color," He said.

She was more confused, how the color would indicate she was a noble? But the mad knight explained. "In my time period, purple was exclusively by the royalty because of how expensive it was to make..." he finished.

'Mein' froze in shock, that was insane but yet true. But the thought was interrupted when he pointed out. "But since no king is dumb enough to send their own flesh and blood, especially their daughter, to a dangerous mission to accompany four untested strangers, so..." he pointed his sword at her.

Mein was now in a panic. "Wait, wait, please get me explained," she exclaimed; the knight simply stared at her, and she gulped. "The King asked me and some other nobles to accompany you… heroes to… keep an eye on you..." she explained, Oersted was skeptical, but at least he understood the fold-play at play here. After a few moments of silence, he... turned away and continued cutting the rest of the meep, much noble/fake-adventure bewildered.

'Huh? Hey! That 's it?" She stood up before noticing she had mud on her dress, "Eww!." she exclaimed, Oersted just laughed. "Hahaha why? You are no threat, just a sacrificial lamb," he said; Mein gritted her teeth. "How Dare YOU, FILLY COMMONER!" She yelled, having enough but he looked at her before laughing. "Hahaha, Oh now after you had nothing to hide, you grow a backbone. hahaha." before continuing to cut the meep, breaking the bones, to insert into the blade. When Mein attacked him from behind.

Without looking, the Hero simply blocked the so-called noble attack, spun around and kicked her chest, pushed Mein away, and fell, to her fury, she glared at the Knight who stood up but was clueless that the hero's free hand was shaking...

He wanted the meep bone to block her strike just to mock her, but the second he thought of it, received a shock in his hand, dropping the bone, but had enough time to grip his sword to block the strike.

As the two stared at each other he received a notification:

Waring - Weapon Violation

(The Legendary Hero is only allowed use than was assigned. Wielding or using any type of object that isn't their assigned weapon to fight or harm other, will will be punishable by a non-lethal shock)

He was getting veeery tired of these dumb rules, he wanted to slam this stupid sword on rock until it breaks… But, he decided to deal with the nuisance right in front of him instead. "Oh, I don't know. A noble means you're like a coward. You're a disgrace!" he taunted, his voice dripping with sarcasm. In response, Mein lunged at him, aiming to slash him, but he skillfully dodged the attack.

The two have a duel, but it's one-sided, as the knight effortlessly dodges every strike while mocking her. "Slow, Sloppy, Sad." Frustration bubbled within her, and with gritted teeth, she leaped away that she cast a spell, [ZweiteFire], summoning a fireball at him... who with a swift motion, he slashed through the flames. Mein quickly summons another, another and another. But each time, the knight expertly parried her spells, leaving her growing increasingly desperate, she cast a different spell Wing Blow, throwing at The Knight, who he unleashed [Wave Slash], the two spells colliding with each other.

Oersted let out a loud yawn. "Is that all you got? Am getting bored," he said. This was Mein's breaking point: "Bored? BORED?!" She charged a fire spell before raising his hand in the air and firing a flame ball into the air. [ZweiteFire Squall]. Then the Ball detaches into a rain of fire heading towards the knight. But he uses Flourish to surround himself in a gale of wind that deflected the fiery onslaught.

Mein's heart raced as she as her eyes widened in desperation, attempting one last spell, [Drifa Hellfire]... but nothing happens; checking her HUD, she turns pale once and sees that she nearly ran out of MP. Before she could react, Oersted lunged forward, delivering a sudden punch to her stomach. Knocking her to her knees, she coughed violently, nearly throwing up.

"Well? Wouldn't you put me in my place?" he mocked, Mein trembled, paralyzed by dread. "It seems armor did protect you, if you wear that ivory armor that you wanted, it would have been worse." He continued, she had nothing left to defend herself…. except for one

"PLEASE FORGIVE ME, LORD OERSTED PLEASE"

Groveling. She cried, on her kneeled towards him and grabbed his leg, begging for forgiveness. Oersted was dumbfounded by the woman's lack of shame. "QUIET!" He yelled, causing her to flinch. He seized her by the back of her collar, Mein only just trembling.

"You know we're something, but honestly, you're just a joke..." he remarked, releasing his grip. "... But abandoning you here would be too cruel. So, I'll keep you around to keep an eye on you." he said while giving her a dark look, She gave a nervous gulp. "Yes... Sir" She said defeated.

After that, they continue hunting... but now with Mein carrying the backpack and doing most work and with little breaks….

When almost Sundown, Mein looks like she would drop dead any moment as she collapses, panting. They stopped near the river; Oersted was clearing the blade, which he always found very relaxing. But then he got an idea, charging the blade to its Default Form and placed it on water. The jewel glowed, and he was informed that New Sword Unlocked - Water Sword

He opened the menu, and he went for swords; he now had a few blades: Balloon sword... Mushroom Sword... Steelpio Stringer Sword... Iron Sword... Water...wait?

He stated that the Iron Sword listed; he pressed it and charged into a simple iron sword that looked familiar, walked towards Mein, and asked her if he could borrow her sword; Mein didn't say anything, just gave the blade to him. He thanked her before staring at both blades side-to-side... they were Identical.

Suddenly a new message appeared:

Weapon Copy:

(The Legendary Weapons can copy any same weapon type that the chosen Heroes wield, allowing them to access their powers and abilities.)

(Some weapons have level requirements; if the level is above the user's, they can't use them until the user reaches the same level.)

Oersted looked at the sword with sheer annoyance, but he sighed, giving up trying to comprehend this weapon. He turns at the sky. "Hmmm, the sun is about sitting down." He said. Mein began standing up while ignoring the dirt and mud on her. "Yeah 'haaa' We better 'fwaa' Head Back 'haaa'..." Mein said in between panting heavily.

Oersted just tilting his head. "Head Back?" He asked.

"Yeah, sir 'haa' if we head back we might reach town before-" Mein tried to explain but was cut off by the Knight. "yes, yes, understand that part, but why return to town?" He asked, confusing the woman. "Wha?" She asked before he went behind her and pulled sleep bags from her backpack. She stared at him in silence, before the realization hit her. "WHAT YOU WANT TO SLEEP HERE? IN MIDDLE F #ING WOOD?" She Yelled.

"Well yeah, is must earlier for us to hunt,

otherwise, we would need to head back and forth." He said nonchalantly, Mein just stared at him. She tried to protest against it, but Oersted pointed out. "Then why did you decide to pretend to be an Adventurer?" he asked; the woman just froze; she wouldn't respond; after a short while, she sighed and opened her hand. "Just give me a damn bag," she said defeated.

As they prepared for the night, the knight suddenly spoke. "Oh, By the way Mein?"

She just rolled her eyes. "What?" she groans. The hero scratches his head. "Ummm? Do you know how to cook?" he said embarrassed, Mein widened, dropped her bag, and slowly turned towards the hero "What?"

Oersted let out a nervous laugh. "Yeah, I never learned how, ha ha ha... but hey, I know how to heat the meat and fish..." He said, Mein jaw-dropped... He happily ensures her. "Well, guess I need to... um? Wing it? that 's the word?" He said as he finished with his bed.

Mein just stood there, realizing what a horrible mistake she made; as the sky darkened and Oersted prepared a fire, one thing crossed her mind. " I bet Maron isn't regretting her life choices..."

Elsewhere

Leafy regretting of agreeing to sign up for this.

She and the rest of the group chose to set up camp as it was becoming too dark to head back to town...because Moto... whatever-his-name-was, wanted to explore the woods. She had tried to persuade the gullible idiot against it... However, her efforts were thwarted by the other male, a well-dressed bastard by the name of Red, who convinced him to ignore her warning and set up a camp for the night instead and for the 'girls' to prepare the food

The two were currently having a conversation. It appears they hit it off quite well since the Spearman became intrigued by Red's methods of flirting with women and being what the hero referred to as a "Red Mage"... whatever that means. The Other party member, a blonde noblewoman by the name Elena, clarified that a red mage is a sorcerer capable of casting spells across various schools of magic.

As two women are preparing the food, one thing crosses her mind. " I bet that Malty isn't regretting her life choices..."

Notes

Welp… a lot of things happened here.

Mein is wearing the leather armour from Dragon Quest, Oersted learned how dumb game logic can be, we met a new friend who totally wouldn't be important… i swear guys, Square Enix enemies and Mein getting her butt kicked and regretting everything

Also here's Oersted's Growth Rates

HP (28-31)

MP (2-5)

Soul Points: (3-5)

Attack (5-15)

Magical Attack (5-10)

[Defense (5-10)

Magical Defense (5-10)

Agility (5-15)

I wanted to lay down Oersted's development. While he excels Physical attacks and Agility, he also has powerful magic and skills which advantage in combat… however limited resources to perform these abilities, not helping low growths in MP and SP. So unless he can find stat increase items, he will quickly run out.

Next Time we are going to see what Naofumi is been doing...
