It was the third time I entered this building to be an adventurer, and I bet it will not be the last one. I wonder what excuse she will use this time to reject me.

Still, this guild was quite weird, I entered this place at different times but it always empty. Is it because of the expensive requirements so no one registered to be an adventurer? If that was true, then they should make it free to be an adventurer, so I don't have to do this farce.

While walking toward her, I saw her grin mischievously. I bet because she probably had found another way to reject me again. Once I reached her desk, she changed her expression to a professional smile.

"Welcome to the adventurer guild. May I know what is your business to come here?"

"You know damn well why I am here!"

I placed the bounty quest on top of her desk.

"So you have found the bandit then?"

"Yes! That should prove my innocence," Then I took out a single gold coin, "And this should cover the entry fee. With those two, I should be an adventurer right now. But I knew you still won't accept me, right?"

"If only you did not say that, maybe I will accept you as an adventurer."

"As if."

She stopped smiling and sighed, "You're right. Still, why are you so stubborn for wanting to be an adventurer. I can roughly guess it is because of fame and money, right?"

"Well, that is one of the reasons-"

"That's all the reason, isn't it?" She interrupted me.

Now that I think about it, she was right. That is all the reason I wanted to be an adventurer. Though I think that was not a bad reason.

"Then again, your type is not that rare in this profession, and those people are always the one who dies young. Are you still sure you wanted to be an adventurer?"

"Of course, That's the only way I can see myself to become famous and rich."

"With your high INT status, I think becoming a merchant is much more suited for you. I know some famous merchant who wanted an assistant that can write and do some calculations. Are you interested in that? By the way, if you accept it, you definitely can become famous and have a lot of money just for being his assistant."

"There's no way I wanted someone else assistant! I want to become famous because of my own effort!"

Then her aura around changed drastically. I was surprised by the change and fell on my butt. After the fall, my entire body trembled. I felt like my life was threatened by a scary monster.

Then her aura returns to normal again. Because of that, I stopped my trembling and could stand up again.

"Still, If you are trembling just because of that much killing intent, I advise you not to be an adventurer. Every monster that I had face has at least this much killing intent."

"Don't lump me who still not an adventurer with you who is a famous B-rank adventurer, Lillia the heavy wind."

"Oh, so you knew about me. Well, I guess you won't accept a condition to defeat me then."

If only last night I did not have a conversation with Walles, I would have accepted that condition foolishly. Hearing her tale about beating a Wyvern solo and her scary aura, I don't think I could win against her with my current power.

I mean, all of my currently unlocked Youkai was uncontrollable. Koishi with her random movements, and Rumia with her darkness ball. It was unfortunate that I missed my timing to show off by beating her like an isekai protagonist, but I knew my own limit.

"Then I will give you another condition. Bring me five dire wolf's corpses and five Elsia herbs in less than five days. Then I will give my approval for you to be an adventurer."

"Ok, that one is easy. I will show you I can do it, and I want you to promise me that this one will be the last conditions?"

"Yeah, I promised."

Then I turned around, and before I could walk away, Lillia stopped me with her hand holding my shoulder.

"Wait, did you even know how they looked like."

"Ah,"

She sighed, "The guild's second floor is a public library. Read the book there if you want to know where to find out about a monster or a gathering material. Here you can use my magic bag too."

She extended her hand that held the magic bag. Since she was offering it, I took the magic bag without hesitation.

"Thanks, but what this for?"

"That coin bag will not have enough space for five wolves' corpses. So use that magic bag."

"Must I keep the wolf's corpse intact?"

"Not really, just bring me one of their limbs, and I will know what kind of mosnter you had killed."

After that, I moved upstairs to read a book with information that could help me to fulfill her condition. From one of the books, I learned about the habitat of the wolves and the location of the herb. Their appearance was drawn too in the book, making things easy for someone like me who could not imagine something only from their description.

Fortunately, I could find both of condition items in the wolf's den forest. That forest was located in the southeast of this kingdom. After knowing that information, I immediately go out of the guild.

"Be careful out there, and run away when you are in danger," Lillia said as I passed her.

I ignored her and thought, "Just you wait, I will completed this silly condition easily."

While on my way to the wolf's den forest, I realized that I had forgotten to bring a weapon. I wanted to avoid Koishi's side effect of forgetting everything by transformed into Star Sapphire. Despite that, I still did not remember to bring something to kill the wolf. Am I an idiot or something?

If only I realized it when I was close to the Kingdom, I would go back and buy one. Unfortunately, if I did that now, I would reach the forest at night time. Because of that, I decided to continue flying forward and rely on Koishi strength to kill the wolf.

If only I realized it when I was close to the Kingdom, I would go back and buy one. Unfortunately, if I did that now, I would reach the forest at night time. Because of that, I decided to continue flying forward and rely on Koishi strength when its time to kill the wolf.

After flying for a while, I reached a place where I detected many wolf-sized monster movements. Most of the wolves that got detected were in packs of five or more, although there were lone wolves here and there.

To test Koishi's strength, I decided to go toward the nearest lone wolf. The wolf that I saw is white-furred with a size larger than myself. It looked different than the wolf that I must kill. But I think killing something could give a good impression of how strong I am actually.

With that said I decide to transform into Koishi.

"How could you want to kill this cute and cuddly wolf?"

The wolf was shocked when it suddenly heard a sound on top of it. The wolves turned around and saw a human was riding it.

Knowing a human was riding him, the wolf was angry. It tries to shake off the human by biting, moving wildly, and rolling around. Unfortunately, none of it worked, the human still managed to hold onto the wolf's back for the whole time, and she looked more excited than before.

"Hahahaha, Why stop? Let's continue playing! I heard from my sister that walking the dog is another form of playing with it. How about we do that now?"

Once Koishi removed her hand from the wolf, it immediately ran away.

"Oh, you want to play chase now. Then I will catch you."

The wolf ran as fast as it could to avoid Koishi. The forest had many obstacles, but the wolf could evade them easily. Despite how fast the wolf ran, Koishi still managed to catch it and hold it down.

"Caught you!"

The wolf tried to break free from Koishi's hug, but it failed. Still, the wolf continued to struggle even if it was futile.

"Stop struggling!"

Sensed Koishi was getting mad, it immediately stopped moving in fear of her retaliation.

"Good! I was tired trying to catch you, so let me sleep on your body for my reward!"

Koishi then rested on top of the wolf's body and closed her eyes.

... You know when transforming into Koishi, I expected many things, but to end up taming a wolf was not one of them. Really, what happened when I became Koishi? Did she control my body and just run around wildly?

Well, whatever. Now that I have a sleeping wolf with me, it's time for me to kill it. I carefully removed myself from the body of the wolf.

Then when I was going to kill the wolf, somehow I hesitated despite my determination. In my eyes, this huge and scary wolf looked cute and harmless. Seeing how cute the wolf is, I couldn't bring myself to kill it.

While I was troubled by it, the wolf woke up and immediately growled at the forest in front of him. I looked in the direction where the wolf growled. There I saw four smaller gray-furred wolves behind a single biggest wolf that I have seen in this place.

All of them were very menacing and ready to attack me anytime. Yet, somehow I saw them as cute little puppies asking to play.

I wonder if it was because I turned into Koishi that I couldn't kill an animal? After all, her sister introduced an animal as a friend to open her heart. Maybe because of that, I looked at those wolves like a pet rather than a monster.

I decided to turn back to myself, and sure enough, I was right. All those wolves now looked like monsters, including the wolf that Koishi tamed. So this means Koishi is useless to kill any animal monster. So I transform into Rumia since it was nighttime and her strength was better than any fairies.

After my consciousness came back, I saw all of the wolves were closed their eyes. Because of that, I concluded that when I transformed, I shined brightly like some kind of hero show I used to watch.

While the wolves were still blinded, I decided to ram my body onto one of the wolves. The result was satisfying; that wolf body managed to break one tree before being stopped by another one, and then it is not moving anymore.

Unfortunately, I didn't watch my surroundings. Before I realized it, the biggest one managed to bite my right arm. Luckily, it couldn't rip my arm off, though on a related note I was swung wildly by it trying to do so.

"Hey stop! Stop! I am getting dizzy."

Instead of going slower, the wolf started to move more wildly than before. After a while, the wolf stopped moving its jaws and releasing my arm because he got tired.

It might be the best time to attack that wolf, but I didn't. Not because I now respected the wolf, but because I wanted to barf. I got on all four and started creating a rainbow on my mouth.

While I was busy doing that, I heard a loud yelp followed by a sound of ripping flesh. Then something was glowing near me. I didn't know what caused it since I was busy recollecting myself.

After my head was clear, I turned around and saw a bigger white wolf in front of me. Behind it was a corpse of the big gray wolf.

"Did you just evolve?" I said while pointing to the big white wolf.

The wolf stared at me and did not react at all.

"Well, whatever. I should thank you for killing that bastard by not killing you. I hope the other three wolves are not running away that far."

Then the white wolf leaves me for a short while before it goes back with a corpse of the little gray wolf. It happened three times before the white wolf scoffed at me and never returned.

"Uhm... I'm sorry saying that you are useless then, now what is left is to gather the herb."

After storing all the wolf corpses inside the magic bag, I flew toward the river.

While on my way, something bad happened to me. A blue panel with a horrifying message appeared in front of me. It said, "RP reached 0. If you transformed into Youkai, you will be forcefully transformed back in 1 minute."

"Wait, what!"

I immediately land from my flight. Sure enough, after a full minute, I transformed back to myself.

"I was lucky it happened when there's no enemy. Still, it made me wonder what kind of thing made a village deep inside this forest? An elf?"

Getting curious, I transformed into Star Sapphire again. With her detection, I found a single little fairy-sized monster. That fairy stood out among the thing that I detected. So I decided to see what kind of fairy is that.

Fortunately, the place was not that far, so it didn't take long for me to reach it. I stopped in front of the stone wall that nature claimed.

"Of course, there will be no rumor about me here! This village is clearly abandoned. Why does my skill still count this one as a village?" Then I remembered about the fairy. "Maybe this place still counted as a village because of that single fairy? What the fuck?"

After that, I flew over the wall, behind it, I saw a lot of silhouettes of houses here and there. With this many houses, I think it more suitable to call it a town rather than a village. In the past, this town must be a busy one. I wonder what made this village abandoned now? Then again, I'm not curious enough to find out the reason.

The location of the fairy that I detected was at the town center. Strangely I couldn't see any fairy around this place. The only thing that I found was a bright fancy-looking sword stabbed deeply to the ground.

"There is a beautiful sword in front of you, and you didn't even try to lift it? You are not a normal fairy, aren't you?"

Even though no one was here with me, I could hear someone saying that on top of the sword.

"So an invisible fairy, huh?" I concluded.

Then a fairy appeared on top of the sword. It has an appearance of a young child with white hair. Even if this creature does not have any wings and wearing metal armor like a knight, somehow I could know that this one is a fairy. The fairy size was so small that it entire body could fit in my hand.

"Oh, I am surprised that you could know that I'm a fairy. So maybe you are a fairy too?"

"Well, technically, yes. I am a fairy."

"Technically? What are you then?"

"That's not important. I can guess what kind of sword this is, but to make sure, can you tell me?"

"Rude, you are not answering and now asking for a question? But I am willing to answer it as a fellow fairy. This sword is a holy sword. It can only be lifted from the ground by a chosen hero that will come here someday."

I stopped listening to the fairy when she said this was the holy sword. At last, something good happened to me! With this sword, I could be recognized as a hero by everyone. Now what is left is for me is to take out this sword.

Unfortunately, when I tried to lift the sword, it didn't budge no matter how hard I tried.

"Hey! Are you listening to what I just said? This sword can only be taken out by a hero, not a fairy, like us."

"Oh yeah, that might be why I could not lift this."

I undid my transformation and then tried again. Sadly, the result is still the same.

"Uwah, that was bright. Wait, did you transform into a human, or are you human that transformed into a fairy?"

"The latter one," I said while still trying to take the sword out.

"Oh, so you must be a summoned person then. Unfortunately for you, just because you got summoned here doesn't mean you are a chosen hero."

"That can't be. I am the main character. I should be able to take out this sword," I stopped trying to take out the sword. "It must be because the sword was too deep, and I'm not strong enough."

"It is not buried very deep. If you want, you could try again until you accept that you are not the chosen hero."

So I tried again, but sadly no matter what I did, the sword was still firmly planted on the ground. After trying a lot of time, I got exhausted and gave up trying to lift the sword.

"So give up now?"

"Yeah. Damn it! I thought something good happened to me at last, but of course that can't be happening to me. Why everything must be different than I wish for?"

"Haha, that is just reality you should accept. Well, it's not like the path to be a hero is to wield this sword. There is still another way you could take to be a hero, so don't give up yet."

"Thanks for cheering me. You're right! I don't need this sword to be a hero." I got up. "Now that I cheered up again, I will do what I intend to do here. So can you tell me where I could find Elsia herb?"

"There is a lot of that herb in the nearby river east from here. You can take as many as you can."

"Thanks, but can I ask you about something?"

"What it is?"

"Is this place free from the monster?"

I am asking the fairy this question because, as much as I wanted to find the herb immediately, it is still nighttime. Not only that, my RP values are now 0, which means I can not transform into Rumia, nor do I have Rumia's ability to see in the dark.

"Ah, you are right. It was too late to search for a herb. Well, this place was quite safe. You can sleep in one of the empty houses. Just pick whichever you wanted, not like someone going to complain anyway."

"Then I guess I will sleep at the nearest house from here. Maybe after resting, I could lift that sword again."

"It will end the same as last time, but feel free to try."

After that, I started looking for a house close to the sword and had a bed. Fortunately, I found it in the first house that I entered. The bed was not that comfy, but it was still better than sleeping on the ground or a chair.

I woke up early in the morning then I tried to lift the sword once again. Unfortunately, the result didn't change. I couldn't lift it no matter how hard I tried. Seeing it was the same as last night, I gave up, and proceed to transform into Star Sapphire and immediately go to the river. After reaching it, I turned back to take my magic bag out.

As that fairy said, there are so many herbs near the river. After looking for a little while, I found a group of herbs that match the description of the Elsia herb. There is so much of it that made me doubt that all of it is Elsia herb.

"If only I have an appraisal skill, then it will be easy to differentiate them. Hmm... now I wonder if Rinnosuke has that skill and is easy to unlock. Status open."

After that I go to the character tab and search for Rinnosuke.

Rinnosuke

Rinnosuke is a Half-human Half-youkai and store owner of Kourindo. He has ability to know name and purpose of objects by identifying it. He likes to collect unique items.

Well, it was easier than I thought. I only need to transform into Alice and then unlock everyone's clothes. Though, Alice's unlock condition was going to be a problem. I don't think I will have appraisal skills in nearby future.

Since I didn't have appraisal skills, I decided to take as many herbs as I could. I mean, this place was far for me to travel back and forth. Not only that, the bitch didn't tell me to take only five herbs. Because of that, I will dump this problem of differentiating each herb to her.

After being satisfied by the result, I transformed into Star Sapphire again. Then I fly toward the kingdom direction. As I left the forest, I looked back and had a little regret that I couldn't lift that holy sword.

"I should stop thinking about the sword. After all, the fairy said that I could be a hero without a sword. For now, I will prove that bitch I can get the quest this far even if the place was far."

Then I continued my flight toward the kingdom.
